Aftg Skit: Soap Opera Apocalypse

Fox Tower dorms, late afternoon. Neil walks into the room, tossing his duffel bag onto his bed. He stops mid-motion when he notices Andrew sitting on the couch, staring at the TV. The screen displays an overdramatic hospital soap opera, doctors shouting, patients crying, someone flatlining in the background.

Neil (eyebrows raised): …Are you watching a soap opera?

Andrew (monotone, not looking away): No. I’m studying a tragic waste of human existence.

[On-screen, a dramatic car crash unfolds in slow motion. Glass shatters. A doctor screams for someone to call surgery.]

Andrew (deadpan): If this show had any integrity, the entire cast would die in that wreck.

Neil (dropping onto his bed): You’re rooting for mass casualties?

Andrew: I’m rooting for an end to my suffering.

[Neil watches as a teary-eyed doctor clutches his lover’s hand while being wheeled into the ER.]

Neil: …You’ve been watching long enough to suffer?

Andrew: Unfortunately. Kevin turned it on this morning, and I haven’t moved since. I keep waiting for it to get worse. It never disappoints.

Neil (eyeing him): You could just turn it off.

Andrew (finally looking at Neil, unimpressed): And deprive myself of the train wreck? No, thank you.

[On-screen, a nurse gasps. A patient flatlines dramatically.]

Andrew (bored): Oh no. Anyway.

Neil: I’m leaving before you start taking bets on who dies next.

Andrew: Too late. Kevin already lost twenty bucks.

Do y'all think the Bat kids actually despise Brucie Wayne the billionaire playboy? Just imagine them groaning every time Bruce acts like Brucie during galas- because the tone he uses is so unusual for his normal grumpy voice. So when he speaks in that almost cheerful tone, it just catches all the bat kids so off-guard that they actually start doubting if that just happened or if they've been kidnaped and forced into living in some kind of fake simulation- and the worst part, is that Bruce knows they hate it and still does it sometimes out of nowhere just to mess with them-

*one random morning*

Tim: good morning B

Bruce: *in his B*tchboy Brucie voice* oh good morning sweetheart, I made some tea for you on the counter, don't want you all stressed in the morning *skedaddles walks out of the kitchen*

Dick who just so happened to be eating cereal in the kitchen: *drops his spoon into the bowl in shock*

Tim: *equally as confused* what just happened..? Am I having a stroke..?

*Damian and Tim having a slight argument that can get physical at any point*

Damian: I demand you take that back right this instance.

Tim: try me brat.

Bruce: *in his Brucie voice* now now kids, be nice to each other. We don't want a fight breaking out, now do we?

Damian: Father... what..???

Tim: am I having a stroke again-???

*Batman and Red Hood right after beating up some goons at a warehouse*

Jason: *putting his gun away* never going out with you again, I swear...

Bruce: *full Brucie voice* Come on now Son is this any way to talk with your father?

Jason: ... did you hit your head, old man...?

Like- imagine the way they recognize Jason as Red hood, is because of his thick accent-

Red hood: good luck trying to catch me! You could never-

Batman: Jason?

Red hood: what-??

Nightwing: omg you're right- he does sound like jason-

Red hood: this is not-

Batman: Jason Peter Todd. You stop this charade and come home with us right this instance.

Red hood: (speaking in a heavy accent because he's nervous about being discovered) h-how're ya so sure I'm "Jason"!? What if I'm just som' rogue from the same place as this um... this "Jason" You're talkin' about!

Nightwing: *whispering to batman* do you see how he eats half of the letters in his words when he speaks? That's definitely Jason-

Red Hood (Jason): I CAN HEAR YOU, YOU KNOW!

After learning to trust their strange teacher the cram school class have decided to collectively annoy and accompany Rin whenever possible— which also includes getting free, scrumptious meals.

This Rin is a little bit of a night owl so he spends most of his mornings.. well, sleeping in. Until like 3pm.

Notice he’s always carrying his sword? 🌚
