Demonic Instincts:

- Purrs involuntarily when extremely content or comfortable, especially when:

  * Eating his favorite foods

  * Receiving head pats from trusted friends

  * After successfully mastering a new technique

  * When half-asleep in warm sunlight

- The purring intensifies with his emotions, making it impossible to hide when truly happy

- Often tries to cover up or explain away the purring, claiming it's his "stomach growling"

Physical Quirks:

- His pointed ears twitch slightly in response to strong emotions

- Tail becomes especially puffy when startled or embarrassed

- Has a slightly higher body temperature than humans due to his flames

- Can see perfectly in the dark, though his eyes reflect light like a cat's

- Unconsciously wraps his tail around people he trusts when standing near them

Behavioral Traits:

- Tends to seek high places when stressed or overwhelmed

- Has an unconscious protective instinct that manifests in sleeping positioned between the door and others

- Can sense approaching storms due to his connection to demonic energy

- Gets unusually energetic during the full moon

- Has a habit of accidentally singeing things when sneezing

Comfort Habits:

- Tends to curl up in sunny spots like a cat during breaks

- Unconsciously kneads soft surfaces when deeply relaxed

- His purring has a calming effect on nearby humans

- Secretly enjoys when Yukio brushes his hair, though he'd never admit it

- Falls asleep instantly when someone he trusts scratches behind his ears

the second chapter of white phosphorus is done (or: the AU in which rin is shiro's familiar and yukio is completely in the dark). you can read it here, or start from the beginning here.

There was a flash of white, and the next thing Yukio knew, something had dropped down from the ceiling. It landed on the podium, Shiro moving his briefcase out of the way with practiced ease. The first thing his brain processed was the white tail lashing behind them, before taking in its humanoid frame. It was dressed casually, wearing ripped jeans and a t-shirt, and a pair of grungy high top sneakers- almost like an ordinary teenager, if it weren't for the jet black oni mask that concealed the lower half of their face. But what stood on the podium was undeniably a demon. Their hair was white, tinged with a pale blue- and their skin nearly just as pale. Their ears were pointed, and their nails were more like claws. There were bumps on their forehead that looked like the beginnings of horns- which he would have said was their most demonic feature, along with their tail- -if not for their eyes.

(or: shiro hazes his first year students every year, and this year is no exception. rinka is more than happy to go along with it.)
