it sucks being a lib in the south. if you express any kind of alternate opinion to traditional MAGA beliefs, you're expected to present a friggin powerpoint explanation of everything you think and why. You're put under an immediate spotlight right then and there, and all eyes turn to you with glares of hatred. Whereas if you vomit out some trash you heard on News Max, everyone takes it at face value.
I don't know about you, but I'm not good at explaining why I think things. I sort of shut down and forget everything if someone asks me to elaborate. As such, everyone in my family thinks I'm a gullible idiot who went away to art school and "came back a lib."
I admit I used to fall for the right wing propaganda as a kid because it was literally all I had ever known, but my world view was slowly shattered throughout grade school, when I finally had access to people who helped me see the other side of things (i.e. they didn't kiss the ground George Bush walked on and didn't wish death on Obama).
It wasn't until I went away to art school that I was actually brave enough to admit that I had changed, but it sucks having your entire family think "you're not as good as you used to be" just because the "you" they used to know was a scared, intimidated kid who tried desperately to fit in in any way possible, even if that meant nodding along to things that you had a bad gut feeling about.
What I learned from it all is this: just because someone is good at arguing doesn't mean they're right, it just means they've had more practice. And that's nothing to be proud of.

U.S. economic growth would likely get the biggest boost in the coming two years from the Democrats, headed by Kamala Harris, winning the White House and Congress in this November's elections, according to Goldman Sachs.
Under a Republican sweep, or even with a divided government led by Donald Trump, economic output would take a hit next year, mostly from increased tariffs on imports and tighter immigration policies, Goldman said in a note late on Tuesday.
Job growth under a Democrat government would also likely be stronger than under the Republicans, Goldman said.

Trump threatens India with reciprocal tariffs
US President-elect Donald Trump has threatened to impose reciprocal tariffs on India, reiterating his long-standing complaints that New Delhi charges high tariffs, The Independent reports.
Trump made the remarks at a news conference at Mar-a-Lago, standing next to his nominee for Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
The former president, who threatened tariffs on several countries as part of his “America First” approach, ended preferential trade status for India during his first term in 2019.
Under the first Trump administration, India faced a bitter tariff war, which affected trade ties between both sides even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr Trump maintained a close relationship.
Forget about the word tariff for a second, Mr. Trump said, adding that: “If they tax us, we tax them the same amount. They tax us. We tax them. And they tax us almost in all cases and we haven’t been taxing them.”
He also added:
“India charges a lot. Brazil charges a lot. If they want to charge us, that’s fine, but we will charge them the same.”
India-China relations have gained momentum over the past two decades as tensions between Washington and China have risen sharply. Under the Biden administration, relations improved further as Washington viewed India as a strategic partner to counterbalance China’s rise in the Indo-Pacific region.
However, analysts say India-US ties under the second Trump administration will have to be put to the test with the looming tariff war.
After winning the election, Trump threatened to impose 100 per cent tariffs on the BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – if they try to replace the dollar in international trade. Mr. Trump said on Truth Social on November 30:
“We require a commitment from these countries that they will neither create a new Brics Currency, nor back any other currency to replace the mighty US Dollar or, they will face 100 per cent tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful US economy.”
Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said in December that India was not nervous about co-operating with Trump. Jaishankar said:
“India is in a much more advantageous position than many other countries to build deeper relations with the incoming Donald Trump 2.0 administration in the US. Some countries are looking at Trump 2.0 as a political challenge, we are not.”
The US is India’s top export destination, with exports of goods and services from it set to reach $120 billion in 2023.

Not Even A Week Into Presidency and Trump and his Monkey's are Already Planning on Blocking Educational Efforts, Spreading Nazi Propaganda in Schools, and Blocking Student Grants. Trying To Raise Medical Fees, and Cut Programs Protecting Millions of American Lives. He's Pushing Worse Laws Regarding Abortion and Women's Health and Rights, and The List Goes On and On...
YOU DID THIS AMERICA, SO WHEN WE END UP JUST LIKE NAZI GERMANY, AND HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF, JUST KNOW THAT YOU MADE IT HAPPEN, YOU BROUGHT ABOUT YOUR OWN SUFFERING.
US Government announces final schedule for Social Security, VA, SSI and SSDI by 2025 https://www.tododisca.com/en/us-government-final-schedule-social-security-va-ssi-ssdi-2025/
Hundreds of millions will die, the economy will fail, millions of people will be homeless, students will be destitute.... How did Hitler rise to complete power? He cut off education, controlled the information spread, banned any other voices. Spread misinformation and lies to a soft headed braindead population that just wanted an excuse to do harm, and were too stupid to grasp the simple concepts of knowledge and accessibility. And he turned them against a population and made the "others" the enemy. Here we are again. I hope everyone who voted as such will suffer, tremendously. In fact, I know they will... They're just too mentally deficient to get that yet.
Maybe it'll take a family member dying due to lack of resources and proper healthcare, maybe hundreds of kids put up for adoption by people who weren't prepared to raise them, maybe it'll take countless senseless shootings and kids being abused, hundreds of families homeless, and suicides reaching an all time high... Maybe it'll take a mass Exodus for people to understand.... But by then it'll already be too late. And most of those people were stupid, and they'll deserve it. But for the non ***** masses... Revenge is in order. Because if you're thinking that I'm going to passively watch, you're wrong. When shit hits the fan, and it will... I'm going to do what I have to survive.

A Gang of Sycophants and the Dominator Culture
I guess the saying, “There is no accounting for taste” may be true after all. Nevertheless, some things can be said of choice when it involves contagion and fear. Sometimes taste may be only part of the explanation of political self-destructive behavior. There are, for example, too many reasons why people who really do not like Donald Trump voted for him anyway. But, it is complicated. To really…

So, climate change is here.
And, a hot El Nino (in the east Pacific) & the hotter Gulf of Mexico (south of the U.S.) are now powering up category 5 hurricanes like Milton - which is headed towards mid Florida as I type this...
We should force the climate deniers (mostly Reps & manufacturers) to help pay for the rising cost of rescuing these same greedy people - for blinding citizens to the true weather dangers ahead of us.
Is it any wonder why tRump & his enablers want to get rid of all storm warnings?
If King Rump wins the election, voters will never know what killer weather is heading their way & won't have time to prepare or run from it...
Do you finally see how important your votes are?!!
End?
