i cannot do anything as a trans person.
i cannot enjoy life as a trans person.
yes, there are many things i enjoy as a trans person. like getting my T shots, or cutting my hair into a way i like it, or ordering a new binder, or being called my perfered name and pronouns.
but there are things i cant enjoy.
like school sports. thats the main one.
i wanted to join a basketball team this year, but with them being gendered I had to choose the female team (being transmasc). i dont really have a choice as if i were to go onto the boys team, id essentially get beat the fuck up. i thought the girls would be more accepting but!! no.
i got called slurs. i got called names. i got called 'she'. i got called picked out. i got thrown aside. they fucking emphasized so many times that it was "girls basketball".
i want to enjoy a sport. thats all i want to do. thats all i wanted. but on my first practice, the MOMENT i walked into that gym, i got weird looks. i cannot enjoy anything. i cannot HAVE anything. i am fucking trans.
knowing that i wont be able to enjoy basic sports if theyre gendered, upsets me. and almost EVERYTHING in my town is. all sports are gendered here. I cannot enjoy anything here.

Also please do not fall into the "transandrophobia and anti masculinity in queer spaces is a terminally online issue" bs.
It isn't. It has real life consequences.
It's the reason why a lot of people who are masc leaning don't dare to go to their IRL queer spaces and/or are blatantly kicked out from them, or have their queerness scrutinized.
It's the reason why, and I know I say that in almost every post but please, listen ! It's the reason why so many people stay in the closet and are afraid of exploring their identity and/or afraid to come out. It's the reason why transmascs are deeply isolated and feel alienated when it comes to queer issues. No one is listening to us. Whatever the subject, nobody fights with us for our reproductive rights, our access to medical care, our access to HRT, safety and security for sex workers, suicide prevention, sexual violence, rapes. These subjects become issues worth talking about almost only when we're talking about "women and fems", as a lot of activists say.
Our deaths are ignored and unknown.
It's not only an issue you read about on Tumblr and Twitter, it's something to deeply rooted in real queer spaces that even within these spaces I've seen people look at me with suprise when I bring up the subject of transphobia targetting transmascs, like they didn't even think it existed, and yet, I see other transmascs falling like dominoes over the years, from suicide, from domestic abuse, from homelessness, for being murdered while working, and having their transness ripped aways from them after their died to fall into women's statistics and forgotten.
This isn't an online issue.
This is real.

ok but racism and fatphobia in the queer community is crazy btw. Like sometime you gotta ask,
Are they butch/masc or are they a poc? Are they fem or are they white? Are they androgynous or are they skinny? Is their hair style choice non conforming or is it just not straight/fluffy? Honestly sometimes I see some strange things being said up in here, and irl too. I just. Idk mann

if you read a report where a trans boy was excluded from the girl scouts
a report where he was misgendered ('biological feeeeeeemale')
malgendered (he's a man, but only in that he's too dangeorus to be around our precious cis girls and cannot be trusted!)
and isolated from his friend group who he has presumably had for years, based only on his gender, with no attempts made to help him integrate into an alternate group that would be welcoming to him
and your takeaway was 'this is progressive because he's being treated like a cis man!'
I don't think you're ready to be having conversations about transphobia. You certainly should not be telling transmasc people that you know more about their experiences than them, and should, in fact, take some time to reflect on why you agree with blatant gender essentialist proto-TERF rhetoric about trans people - so long as they're transmasc.
#transandrophobia#transphobia#transmasc#trans#transgender#just please unfollow me now if you don't think trans men face discrimination because they're trans men#you're wrong and if you are NOT a trans masc or trans man#you do not get an opinion. bye.

This is a way to force trans people out of public life. If you can't safety use a bathroom, you can't go to school, or hold a job, or go to a restaurant, or go shopping for longer than a couple of hours.

"Roxanne Tickle in 2022 sued the Australian app and founder Sally Grover for unlawful gender identity discrimination in its services, saying Grover revoked Tickle's account after seeing her photo and "considered her to be male."
The Federal Court, Australia's second-highest, ordered Giggle for Girls to pay Tickle A$10,000 ($6,700) plus legal costs but declined to order the company to issue a written apology, which Tickle had sought.
"Tickle's claim of direct gender identity discrimination fails, but her claim of indirect gender identity discrimination succeeds," Judge Robert Bromwich said."

A survey of more than 90,000 transgender people in the U.S. — the largest nationwide survey of the community ever — found that trans people continue to experience workplace and medical discrimination. However, the overwhelming majority of them still report more life satisfaction after having transitioned. The National Center for Transgender Equality, or NCTE, one of the country’s largest trans rights organizations, released its 2022 U.S. Transgender Survey Early Insights report Wednesday after a yearslong delay due, in part, to the pandemic. The survey, the most comprehensive look to date at life for transgender people in the U.S., comes as hundreds of bills in the last three years have attempted to roll back trans rights, most often by restricting trans people’s access to transition-related health care and trans students’ abilities to play school sports.
[...]
More than one-third of adult respondents, or 34%, were experiencing poverty at the time of the survey, and 18% were unemployed. More than 1 in 10, or 11%, of respondents who had ever held jobs said they had been fired or forced to resign or had lost jobs or been laid off because of their gender identities or expressions. And, in line with previous survey findings, 30% of respondents had experienced homelessness in their lifetimes. Of adult respondents who saw health care providers in the previous 12 months, 48% reported having had at least one negative experience because they were transgender, including being refused health care, having staff members use the incorrect pronouns for them or having providers use abusive language or be physically rough or abusive while treating them. Fear of mistreatment prevented 24% of respondents from seeing doctors when they needed it in the 12 months before the survey. Many respondents also reported past mistreatment in school. Of adult respondents, 80% who were out or perceived as trans in K-12 experienced one or more forms of mistreatment, including verbal harassment, physical attacks, online bullying or being denied use of the restrooms or locker rooms that matched their gender identities. Of the 8,159 respondents who were 16 and 17, 60% reported such mistreatment. Despite those negative experiences, the vast majority of adult respondents, 79%, who lived at least some of the time in different genders from the ones they were assigned at birth reported that they were “a lot more satisfied” with their lives. An additional 15% reported they were “a little more satisfied.”

can we stop the belief that terfs hate transfems exclusively or like more than they hate cisgender men or transmascs and pretending it's just the trans women's battle against them and you're allies for them or whatever. this literally undermines how much harm theyre doing both to the trans community as a whole and even to the people (cis women) they claim to be protecting. terfs hate trans men just as much as trans women, transmascs arent safe because terfs view them as "uwu confused girlies trying to escape oppression", that is a very narrow worldview and inherently transphobic itself (it excludes butches, transmascs who's medically transitioned, intersex people, etc. etc.) transfems arent more oppressed by terfs than any other people theyre oppressing, please understand this. Im so sick and tired of people undermining my transmasc siblings when it comes to harassment from terfs because "well you arent a target to them", why are they harassing them then????
I just geniuenly dont like how the queer community can claim to be transmasc friendly and then view transmascs the same way transphobes view them (again, uwu girlies who are tricked into ruining their feminine beauty, they dont know anything and how lucky they are). feels both andromisic and misogynistic at the same time on top of transmisic idk how the fuck you manage to fuck up that badly
tldr: stop pretending transmascs arent affected by terfs nearly as much as transfems
anyone can reblog, except terfs of course they can fuck off
transfem is used as a way to refer to "TMA"/"AMAB" trans people transmasc is used as a way to refer to "TME"/"AFAB" trans people I know the definition is a bit more fluid now so I just wanted to note that

If there's one thing I want you to do as the world gets colder, get kinder. They will comment on things that don't make sense just to be mad. They will start fights just to see you get mad.
They are mad. You might be mad. But you don't have to be mad at one another.
Just...don't participate in petty debates that you will never win. That aren't meant to be won. Especially as we descend again into the hellscape that is this type of rhetoric and cold world.
Be nicer to neighbors, friends, family. Take losses. Be the bigger person even when it HURTS. And when it comes to family and friends, it will. Of course don't concede your values. But don't push people away you depend on and rely on and want in your life either unless you have no choice.
Love yourself more than anyone. If there's any time to be selfish it's also now. Save your grace and ignore trolls. Ignore people and conversations and communities that don't serve you. If you have hobbies that don't serve you anymore, cut them off. Social media you don't use? Delete it.
Lastly, don't spend the next four years wishing you did more. Do more. Or do as much as you can. Your best is good enough. Stay in the moment. You don't need to dwell on the past, and you don't need to have a five year plan. Don't let the trauma of your environment shut you in. That's what I did during the last Presidency of this type, and I do regret it. Because I burnt out.
I love you. One day we will be able to love and live with reckless abandon again. With freedoms and liberties assured. Until then, we are here for one another, and we will get through it.
We did it once, we will do it again.

So uh…
Anyone gonna acknowledge that Trump is making an executive disorder to declassify non-binary and other genders, therefore only leaving male and female?
SO wild to me how we used to think America was this superpower first world country but like… it’s starting to smell a bit dictatorship-core idk

quick question, why are some trans people deciding to post the exact same way as TERFs recently?
"trans ""men"" aka TIFs aka theyfabs talking about the transphobia and misogyny they've experienced will inevitably make them realise they're just manipulated and weak-minded feeeeemale girl wombyns and then they'll detransition into TERFs!!" has been said by both TERFs and by a few trans people who seem to have some sort of intense hatred towards trans men, usually a hatred based on hypotheticals and strawmen.
ima be honest, trying to integrate radfeminism and misandry into transgender theory will never work because this is the kind of "theory" that results from it. let's just hope this stuff stays in the depths of tumblr and I won't have to hear something like this irl lmao
#transphobia#trans#transgender#ftm#transmasc#wtf is going on#discourse#transandrophobia#transmisogyny#trans solidarity#gender theory#maybe let's not divide and conquer ourselves while we're at risk of losing our rights worldwide#didn't parts of the US ban drag recently while being very vague about what counts as drag#anti-transmasculinity#Discrimination against transgender men#yeah whatev let's have 4 different words for it bc nobody can agree#transmisandry#I think that's the one that most ppl don't like bc it's implying that misandry is a systemic problem which it isnt under patriarchy#but somehow ppl have problems with the other terms too

Random thought but have you ever noticed that breadtube is...misogynistic? Idk, as someone who used to watch a lot of breadtube (still a leftist, but as I've learned more about leftist politics and movements I find that breadtube often lacks substance - just seems like a lot of rambling without critical thinking/analysis).
Like, I can't help but notice that the lot of them shy away from topics around sex based oppression, male/female socialization, sexploitation etc (and if they're not ignoring it, they're saying that none of it is real and that those are just conservative talking points).
Idk. I just feel like a lot of people would rather watch transwomen talk about how important feminist works are actually bigoted to justify violent, misogynistic feelings toward radical feminists who discuss these things. It feels like they want to intellectualize misogyny and uphold a strawman of radical feminism so that they can validate telling women to shut the fuck up about our oppression. Am I making sense?
yes, you're totally making sense, and I decided to look into that. so I made an Excel list with the most prominent Bread Tubers, the number of their subscribers, their biological sexes and their gender identities:
if you just look at gender identity, the subscribers seem to be quite evenly distributed between men, women and non-binary people:
looks kinda fair, right?
but if we look into biological sex...
it's suddenly clear that biological males gather about 77 percent of the total subscribers, while biological females gather only about 24 percent.
doesn't seem that fair anymore, right?
but it gets even worse when you take into account the male's gender identities...
there are more subscribers to biological males with female or non-binary gender identities than subscribers to biological females???
I guess there is your answer on why bread tube does not cover issues of sexism and sex-based oppression.
...and that is why an analysis based on biological sex is important and trying to erase it will let us believe that we are closer to equality between the sexes than we actually are
#I still watch some of them and think many have good analyses#for example on topics of history#but I will never#ever#try to know anything about sexism and misogyny by them ever again#breadtube#bread tube#leftist youtube#sex discrimination#trans#transgender#trans woman#listen to trans women#terfblr#terfs please interact#radical feminism#it took a while to make these graphs so#radblr#radfems please interact#gender critical#radical feminists please touch#radical feminists do interact#feminism#listen to women#misogyny#terfs please touch#gender critical feminism#gender critical feminist#gc feminist#gc feminism
