A young Roger Delgado works to expose an otherworldly conspiracy, as newspaper columnist Hugh Conrad in Quatermass II: The Coming (1.4, BBC, 1955)
#fave spotting#roger delgado#the master#quatermass#doctor who#classic doctor who#delgado!master#quatermass ii#quatermass 2#images are rough i know‚ but that reflects the quality of the material to a degree#that we have complete copies of Quatermass II is a small miracle and to be celebrated#but as a bbc series from 1955 it is understandably in rather poor form as regards picture and sound quality#at least compared to contemporaneous shows from itc or america (largely shot on film)#anyway. what a delight to see young Rog! he's only in this one episode (although he can be seen briefly in the recap at the start of ep 5#and thus sometimes is credited with both) but he's playing a great character‚ a fleet street wonder that Quatermass brings in to try#and spread word about the conspiracy at the heart of the series. it allows Rog to play quite a different figure to the villains and foreign#dignitaries that became his stock in trade later on; he's a wily‚ astute but sceptical figure‚ who wants proof of Quatermass' claims and as#such is exposed to the alien horrors at work (allowing SPOILER for some very good 'battling possession' acting that leads into a truly#great cliffhanger). the serial almost feels like it has a guest of the week‚ with a significant character turning up for one ep only in#most installments‚ including Rupert Davies in the previous episode‚ but i think it's just the way the serial was formatted (and it's not#like Delgado or even Davies were particularly well known actors at this point in their careers)#still it's been fun to revisit. highly recommended for fans of dark and doomy sci fi horror

Hellooo I have a question for you about the vetiverfox skirts. The posing in the pictures makes them LOOK different than the other skaters to me-- like a different material or something. But they're the same, right? If I ordered the moth I should expect it to wear about the same as a mage skater I already have?
They look different because they're mockups! The base pictures were of solid grey skirts, which vetiver can then use to put patterns on top. The angle and being closer up may also be what's making them look different, but because vetiverfox's patterns are often really intricate I use more zoomed in pictures as the main listing image compared to other designs.
And yes, the actual finished skirts are the same as any others. They'll be the same material, fit, etc as your mage skater
#there's a lot of reasons i don't have real photos of VF's skaters#but maybe at some point I'll have some extras on hand long enough to take pictures#mockups tend to show their patterns more legibly as well so it's a trade off between making it clear what the patterns is like#vs showing the skirt texture/material#joggers are all real pictures because jogger mockups always look god awful 😅#anyways#haha#yeah if any skirts are a mockup the listing description info will say!#right now i think it's just VF skaters and my Agony Maxi#since i replaced Ascension and Efflorescence mockup images with real pics yesterday#ask#witch vamp#vetiverfox#skater skirt

I love when people show the entirety of their ass commenting "no such thing as unskilled labor 👏👏✊✊" on a clip of something that is very much by literal definition, skilled labor.
Sorry buddy that person had at minimum like a 3 year apprenticeship plus years of experience and other training on top of that and probably gets paid at least twice what you do.
But it's manual labor and you just demonstrated you think everyone who works with their hands is doing "unskilled" work, thereby needing to be protected by your slogan. Maybe introspect on that a little bit.
#everyone's labor should be respected but also use your brain#“does not require a 4 year degree” is not the same as “unskilled”#the fact you can't comprehend the nuances involved in the task shows you really need to educate yourself#on how the material world functions#there's a difference between someone who's baller at stacking boxes in their warehouse#and idk a professional tile setter#one is “unskilled” as a DIRECT RESULT is likely being hideously exploited since he's expendable/replaceable#the other's probably in a trade union and making a decent wage#like we're all getting exploited by capitalism and tile guy probably still has many MANY extremely real complaints and concerns#but they're not the same...u see that right? please tell me u see that-

Choosing the Right Banner Stand for Your Next Trade Show or Event
When it comes to showcasing your business at a trade show or marketing event, the display you choose plays a vital role in attracting attention and engaging potential clients. Among the various display options available, banner stands stand out as an effective, versatile, and cost-efficient solution. Whether you're a first-time exhibitor or a seasoned pro, selecting the right banner stand can make all the difference in achieving a successful event.
In this article, we will explore the key advantages of choosing the right banner stand for your next trade show or event and how it can elevate your marketing efforts.
1. Portability and Easy Setup
One of the most significant advantages of Banner Stand is their portability. Designed to be lightweight and easy to transport, banner stands are perfect for businesses that need to set up quickly and move between different events. Many models come with a convenient carrying case, making it simple to pack up and head to the next exhibition without hassle.
Key Benefit: You can set up and dismantle your banner stand in minutes, ensuring minimal time is spent on logistics and more time engaging with attendees.
2. Compact and Space-Efficient
Banner stands are perfect for booths or spaces where you need to make a visual impact without taking up too much room. Their slim and vertical design allows for maximum visibility while keeping your booth neat and organized. Whether you need a banner for a small corner of your exhibition or a large backdrop for a prominent display, banner stands come in a range of sizes, including compact models that fit into smaller spaces.
Key Benefit: Banner stands offer a professional look without crowding your display area, helping to create a clean and spacious presentation.
3. High-Quality, Customizable Graphics
Your banner stand serves as a canvas for your brand message, so the quality of the graphics is essential. High-resolution graphics printed on durable materials ensure that your brand, logo, and messaging stand out. Banner stands can be fully customized to match your brand’s colors, fonts, and design elements, making it easier for you to create a cohesive look across all your marketing materials.
Key Benefit: Customizable banners ensure your messaging is consistent and visually appealing, reinforcing your brand identity and making a lasting impression on event attendees.
4. Cost-Effective Marketing Tool
Compared to other types of displays and exhibition equipment, banner stands are a budget-friendly solution without compromising on quality or effectiveness. Whether you’re hosting a one-time event or attending multiple trade shows throughout the year, banner stands offer a cost-efficient way to get your message across. Their durability and reusability mean that they can be used for many events, saving you money in the long run.
Key Benefit: Banner stands provide a high return on investment, offering affordable, reusable marketing tools for ongoing promotions.
5. Versatile Display Options
Banner stands come in a variety of styles, from simple retractable banners to more advanced modular systems. You can choose from single-sided or double-sided stands depending on your space and visibility needs. Double-sided banners are ideal for locations with heavy foot traffic, allowing your message to be seen from multiple angles. Additionally, you can opt for different sizes, from compact models to large banners, ensuring your display meets your specific event requirements.
Key Benefit: The wide range of display options ensures you can choose the best banner stand for your specific needs, whether you need a simple promotional display or a more elaborate exhibition setup.
6. Durable and Long-Lasting
When selecting a banner stand, durability is key. The best banner stands are made from sturdy, recyclable materials such as aluminum, ensuring they can withstand the wear and tear of frequent use. Quality banners are also printed on durable fabrics or vinyl that resist fading, curling, and damage, ensuring that your stand looks professional for many events to come. Some banner stands even come with warranties, adding an extra layer of assurance that your display will last.
Key Benefit: Durable materials and long-lasting design ensure that your banner stand maintains its quality appearance over time, providing you with a reliable marketing tool.
7. High Visibility and Impact
The primary purpose of any banner stand is to capture the attention of potential customers and clients. With large, visually striking graphics, banner stands are perfect for standing out in crowded trade show halls, conferences, and promotional events. Their vertical design and high-quality materials allow your messaging to be seen from a distance, ensuring that your booth grabs attention as people walk by.
Key Benefit: Banner stands are designed to be eye-catching, helping your brand stand out and attract the right audience at busy events.
8. Eco-Friendly Options
As sustainability becomes increasingly important, many banner stands now come with eco-friendly features. Recyclable aluminum frames and eco-friendly printing options, such as solvent-free inks, ensure your display aligns with your environmental values. Choosing sustainable materials not only helps the planet but also enhances your company’s green image, which can resonate well with attendees who value sustainability.
Key Benefit: Eco-friendly banner stands allow you to promote your business in an environmentally responsible way, appealing to conscious consumers and reducing your ecological footprint.
Conclusion
Choosing the right banner stand for your next trade show or event can significantly enhance your marketing strategy. From portability and easy setup to customizable graphics and cost-effectiveness, banner stands offer numerous benefits that can help your business stand out and leave a lasting impression on your audience. With so many options available, there’s a banner stand solution for every event and marketing need. They Didn't
Once there was a town far removed from the capitol. Its citizens lived according to the seasons and held that all things would fall as they should. So when the regime came under fire, they were not alarmed. They did not lock their doors nor did they send their strong ones to go fight. They knew there were good people out there who held their interests and fought for their country in their stead.
And, of course, they were right. The Monarch fell and a new Monarch bloomed in their place. Not a scrap of the war came to the town's doorstep. Of course their crops were less than they should be - seed trade had screeched to a halt two years ago - but they were alive and still citizens of their country which had always looked out for their interests before.
So when the new Monarch sent a representative to their village, they were curious. They had neither rebelled nor contributed. What could the Monarch have to say to them?
"Resources are scarce after two years of war," the representative said. "We have come to see what is needed."
The citizens nodded for this was to be expected. The war had hollowed out their winter stores and delayed major repairs to roads and roofs. They needed much.
They were glad for the representative's arrival, but there was much work to do. They set up their stalls for market and did not pay him much mind. There was not much fare to lay out on their tables. They spent their time arranging each vegetable to hide its bruising and to showcase the best side of handicrafts made with amateur hands.
"By show of hands," he said, "who needs new tools to work their fields?"
Such a silly question! The representative had to have seen their fields while riding into town. He knew the barren state of them.
(They did not see he rode in a covered carriage, so sick by the motion of the wheels that he could not open his eyes.)
Seeing no hands, the representative moved on. "Who needs grain to see them through winter?"
Again so silly! Their storage gaped open and empty at the other end of the square. Surely he knew they needed grain.
(The representative thought it charming to have an empty barn as a communal gathering place and made a note to bring the idea to his own hometown.)
"Very good," the representative praised. Not a single hand! He had been to 40 towns already. What a relief to have one not on the verge of collapse! "And your roads? Your bridge?"
At this, some of the villagers rolled their eyes. The last storm had wiped away their bridge. The representative had to take the long way to come into their town square because of it.
(The representative asked to take the long way into town as his report claimed the village had a rope bridge which would make him even more violently motion sick.)
"And shelter?" the representative asked, checking No on every box. He would have said they needed new roads, but what did he know? Not a single one raised their hand. They must be used to traversing such pitted and rutted roads. "Do you have adequate shelter for the long winter ahead?"
Villagers chuckled for they did not have adequate shelter now. The autumn leaves blew through their eaves and their thatched roofs were gray with age. They had no materials to repair them, nor talent. Did the representative not see that their carpenter's booth at the market sat empty?
(Next year, the representative will do a survey of the town himself. He will count the artisans and craftsmen for his census. He will sleep under their roof to judge their condition for himself. He will eat their food to judge its quality. This year...well. Too many needs in too many places.)
"Thank you for an easy visit," he said. He turned back to his carriage. "See you in the summer."
The villagers watched him go in shock. To think he would leave so quickly! Well, it was fine. He had seen their roads and roofs, their storage and fields, their empty market stalls and slim market fare. They didn't need to worry.
They didn't.
The representative hummed to himself as a distraction while the carriage dipped and rolled away from the town. He thought that it was very good that they needed no craftsmen or grain or tools. This village lay in a valley that would become impossible to traverse in the winter months. He would have to act very quickly if they needed help.
But good! They didn't.

A pair of Czekl drakes readying at a flower duel.
The one stretching and yawning is dressed in full dueling/dancing attire, which shows off material wealth via fine clothing and feathers while also exposing the sexiest part of his breeding plumage (in this culture it's the head and neck) and his flushed blue skin.
The other is his pair bonded partner, whose drab full body covering and clipped quills establishes that he is not available for reproduction this year, and meets expected modesty standards for a seasonally celibate drake. His presence makes his reproductively available partner more attractive to prospective hens, as it indicates that the celibate drake will have no offspring of his own this year and his full investment will be in his partner's young (and thus that of any hens who choose him).
---
[Key for the typical sex assignments across qilik sexual variation:
Hen: Lays eggs, has duller coloration year-round, largest average body mass.
Drake: Produces sperm, has brighter coloration that molts into very colorful breeding plumage, skin seasonally flushes blue, smaller average body mass.
Faeder: Produces sperm and is usually physically indistinguishable from hens in average size and coloration. Can be anywhere between 1-25% of the sperm producing population.]
---
Qilik species-wide descend from an ancestral mating system in which hens did not form pair bonds with drakes and played no role in raising subadult offspring, and rather would mate with chosen drake(s) and leave their eggs with the most favored suitor. Drakes would form long term pair bonds with other (usually related) drakes and cooperatively brood and raise young together. Faeder would wander through lekking grounds and opportunistically mate with hens (without having to directly compete with drakes) and play no further role in hatching/rearing their offspring.
They have brief windows of seasonal fertility triggered by the springtime increase of daylight hours (with some equatorial populations having their cycles triggered by seasonal rains instead). Most drakes experience a significant surge of testosterone which causes their springtime molt producing very bright new feathers and their skin to flush blue (if they are well-nourished).
Modern qilik have full behavioral plasticity that subjects this baseline mating system to tremendous cultural variation. There are some broad commonalities- drakes perform the majority of child rearing across most cultures, forms of drake sexual display (whether directly involved in reproduction or not) are nearly ubiquitous in the form of various cultural practices (dances, songs, mock or real combat, etc), and seasonal fertility is a purely biological trait and a universal.
The nomadic culture and heavily dispersed population of the Czekl people means reproductive arrangements are rarely made in advance. Rather, regional populations assemble in established locations during mid spring for a month-long event where the usually separated hen/faeder clans and drake clans can mingle. This is a time for trade, for drake parents to find suitable clans for any of their young adult hen/faeder children, and for individuals looking to reproduce to find a suitable (and highly temporary) partner.
In this culture, hens usually play no direct part whatsoever in their children's lives and may very well never see them hatched. Hens are believed to be the mechanism that supplies spiritual ancestral guardianship to their young, but their material responsibility begins and ends with finding a drake who can show himself to be strong, handsome, healthy, tied to a good clan, and economically secure enough to take good care of their offspring. This process is sometimes accomplished with simple meeting and talking, but the flashiest ways for drakes to advertise themselves is the flower duel.
This is a combination of a dance and a fight, in which available drakes congregate on a dueling ground, match up against the best looking rival they can find, and attempt to pin them to the ground while also dancing to chanted music and showing off their finest clothing and sexy feathers. Hens will watch these proceedings (usually aided by other members of their clan), and can approach anyone that catches their eye after the fact to converse and ensure that they have found a good father for their children. This also functionally provides a mechanism for drakes who do not have a pair-bonded male partner to attract a co-parent, and this culture's equivalents of romance stories lavish attention to narratives of flower duel rivals becoming enamored in the process of their mock battle.
Czekl culture places very little expectation on even temporary fidelity, and hens will often mate with multiple drakes per season and only provide their single egg (often of indeterminate siring) to the one they deem best. It's up to an individual drake to not only prove that he's extremely sexy and excellent father material, but that he can be good company for the week or so between the first (of usually many) acts of breeding and his reproductive partner(s) laying their eggs. While hens and drakes rarely form any sort of permanent bond in this culture (and aren't likely to see each other whatsoever for the rest of the year), these temporary friendships can be meaningful and enjoyable. There's plenty of things to do at this gathering besides just showing off and fucking, and temporary mates that actually hit it off will often bring their respective clans together to socialize and trade.
---
The modesty standards of qilik cultures trend towards regulating attire of drakes more intensely than hens/faeder, especially when in breeding plumage and skin condition. Czekl society has fairly limited modesty standards, with the cloaca being the only part of the body expected to remain publicly covered in most contexts regardless of gender. The only major exception is that drakes who are choosing to remain celibate for the breeding season (or who have secured as many partners as they can handle) are expected to demonstrate this with full body covering. The exposure of seasonally blue tinted skin and breeding plumage is treated as an advertisement of full sexual availability, and uncovered drakes who refuse any mating are often subject to aggression and treatment as sexually deviant.
Czekl drake pairs typically take turns playing the reproductive role, hence the routine presence of seasonally celibate males at this event. A drake being able to display that he not only has a bonded partner but one who will remain nonreproductive for this season increases his chances of reproductive hookups. It tends to be assumed that partnered drakes will disproportionately invest in their own offspring, so having sex with a drake who has a celibate male partner is seen by most hens as guaranteeing a better future for the one and only egg they can lay each year.
This perception is a cultural bias rather than a response to behavioral drives, as partnered drakes do not actually show instinctive preference for their own young over that of their pair-bonded partner's. The evolutionary background for this is rooted in pre-behaviorally modern qilik male partners very frequently being biological brothers, and thus reaping selective benefits in mutual care for their related young. This is not as ubiquitously the case for behaviorally modern qilik, though incest taboos are rarely applied to bonded drake relationships. In the Czekl sphere, up to a quarter of these nonreproductive pair bonds are between male siblings.
It is exceptionally rare for qilik cultures to form taboos surrounding homosexual behavior between drakes, and when extent they tend to regulate actual sex acts rather than the forming of these pair bonds in of themselves. Less rare is acceptance of drake celibacy (outside of various religious contexts that dictate it), referring to complete/attemptedly lifelong abstinence from mating with hens. Czekl (and most central plains qilik groups) do not police the sexuality of drakes as aggressively as more intensely hen-matriarchal cultures do, but it’s still an expectation that all drakes will participate in bringing offspring to their clans over the course of their lives. Those who remain Serially (rather than seasonally) celibate are often subject to discrimination and sometimes even ousting from their own clans. The clan is the central unit of Czekl society and drake clans (treated as bloodlines) are sustained by their members providing offspring, so choosing never to do so is treated as imperilment of a clan's future.
Czekl drakes forming permanent pair bonds with hens is considered unnatural and deviant (though not aggressively policed, and very rare in practice), and forming these with faeder is HIGHLY stigmatized (faeder themselves are treated as barren hens in spite of their actual fertility, and are discouraged both from mating with hens and from forming bonds with drakes/joining drake clans). The practice of seasonally celibate drakes appearing in this public setting with full body covering has (culturally unintentional) functions in enabling these stigmatized drake/faeder pair bonds to fly under the radar (by giving an avenue for a faeder to hide her dull coloration and therefore sex assignment, under the guise of being a celibate drake), and allowing them to obtain offspring for themselves.

Not only would it actually be helpful when it comes to missions surrounding underground/illegal operations (Jason would be able to retrieve way more insider knowledge) but also I think having a supervillain family member that you're chill with is just untapped comedic potential that needs to be taken advantage of.
---
Damian gets into a petty fight with Bruce, and the next day, instead of waiting for Bruce to pick him up from school, he calls Jason, who shows up in full Red Hood regalia and just rides off with Damian.
Of course everyone at school sees that Wayne's son just got snatched by Gotham's most notorious crime lord, so ofc when Bruce gets there, sees Damian missing, and hears a series of panicked whispers about a gun slinging, criminal biker riding off with a prince of Gotham, Bruce immediately knows what's up and just sighs, already anticipating the many publication companies he's gonna have to bribe to stay silent.
---
Sometimes, they need Jason's help with intercepting certain illegal trades within the underworld of, not just Gotham, but just common areas where shady businesses are most prevalent. And when Bruce requests that Jason brings evidence of said illegal shipments to the cave, Jason will smugly respond with "I can, but it'll cost ya"
And Bruce is all exasperated like, "Jason, please, this mission's been going on for a month, I just want to get it over with."
And Jason's just looking down at the crate of smuggled materials, recognizes that it's highly sought after by many rogues (maybe it's machinery parts or rare chemical substances, etc) and ofc Jason's about to be petty as hell when responding to Bruce:
Jason: I don't think you have any idea how valuable the stuff I have is. If I sold this myself in my part of the underground, I'd make a fortune!
Bruce: Jason
Jason: Butttt, if you're not willing to pay me for this, y'know, despite being a billionaire, I guess I could just auction this off to another willing client
Bruce: Jason
Jason: I hear Lex Luthor's been cookin' up something new for Superman. I wonder if he'd be interested?
Bruce: Son, please.
Jason:
Bruce:
Jason: I'll give you a family discount.
And it's just a back and forth of this EVERYTIME. And Jason only does it when he's collaborating with Bruce. None of the other bats have to deal with Jason demanding money.
---
There was one time, during a Wayne gala where practically ALL the kids (except Jason, dude's still legally dead), had to show up. And around halfway through, the Red Hood just crashes through the skylight and then just fucking kidnaps Bruce Wayne, in front of everyone. And of course the gala has to be cut short.
Meanwhile, Bruce, in Jason's custody: I CANNOT believe you, son. WHY of all times would you do this? You are GROUNDED, I don't care if you don't live with me anymore, this is just UNACCEPTABLE-
Jason, completely ignoring him, holding up a tablet with news article headlines about this incident: Bruce, look at this shot they got of me crashing through the ceiling, I look fuckin' badass
And then when the fam (in costume) come to "save" Bruce, in a blink and you'll miss it moment, Bruce catches Cass and Jason whispering something to eachother in the corner and them fist bumping before Jason books it out of there. He can already feel a headache brewing.
And generally speaking, I feel like the batfam could be way more efficient with this arrangement. You got the regular team of bats, investigating from above, as well as being able to infiltrate socialite environments as Waynes. Then you got Jason, who can keep an eye on all the lesser exposed and lucrative activities whilst he keeps the underground businesses under his control. I feel like it would be a win win situation that would be hella interesting to see explored.
#not just that but when bruce gets kidnapped as brucie sometimes jason shows up first & 'heroically' saves him#aka he beats up the kidnappers but spends an additional 20 mins taking pics and selfies of a tied up bruce wayne#jason posing hard while bruce is tied up behind him: gotta leave the journalists good article pics of me when we make headlines tmr dad#bruce tired as hell looking down at a semi-concious kidnapper that jason beat up: i wish u just shot me when u had the chance#jason todd#red hood#batman#bruce wayne#batdad#damian wayne#robin#cassandra cain#batfamily#batfam#batkids#batbros#dc comics#incorrect quotes#hc#crack#fanatical posting
