Oooh, I finally got contacted by the Avatar: the Last Airbender people about the figurine I won from the Braving the Elements podcast Live! panel I went to at Comic Con! Apparently, I won a Diamond Select Toys Uncle Iroh figurine that theyâll be shipping out to me soon! The whole panel was about Iroh, since his voice actor was one of the guests on the panel (as was Tophâs), so it makes sense.
Ha, I was so worried that I was going to be ghosted by these people, especially since my last name is commonly misspelled and my email address is just my first and last name, so itâs nice to have gotten contacted at least.
(Also, since I donât know if I made a public post about this on this blog, when I was at Comic Con a couple weeks ago I attended a panel for the live recording of the Braving the Elements podcast that Janet Varney and Dante Basco (Korra and Zukoâs voice actors respectively) host. Since my mom is physically disabled, we were able to enter the room first and I got front row seats to the panel, and was able to book it to the line where they were doing trivia for ATLA. Now, Iâm usually awful at trivia, but I am a fairly big ATLA fan, so I had some hope that I could get it. Luckily, the question I got was one I knew (at what stage of the siege on Ba Sing Se did Lu Ten die), and while I kinda didnât get the question fully right, since I had no idea what they meant by stage, I answered that he died right as they broke through the wall and they were about to invade Ba Sing Se. Which Janet Varney accepted, ha. They told us to give our email addresses to a staff member to the side and theyâd contact us about shipping out our prizes later, since theyâre supposed to be a nice, more deluxe prize. After a week passed I was a bit skeptical about getting contacted, especially with the previously mentioned concern over my last name, but I finally got contacted which is a relief. ^-^)
(Oh! Also, I took video of them doing live script reads from the show, even though I donât technically think I was supposed to?? No one has requested I take it down yet, though, so if youâre curious you can click on this link to see the YT video I made of it. They did three scenes, the one where Toph meets Iroh in season two, the scene where Iroh and Zuko reunite in the White Lotus Camp in season three, and the âfather lordâ scene also from season three. They also did a read of a comic book page with Iroh and June, but since I was on line for trivia at that point, the view is very obscured, and you can overhear the lady who was getting our signatures to acknowledge that we were going to be featured on a recording for a podcast. I also missed a bit of the beginning of the scene, but it was still cute, so I decided to add it to my video, ha. The actual podcast episode will be coming out at a later date?? From what Iâve seen of past live recordings, it can take months before theyâre released, but if anyone does watch that podcast, youâll hear/maybe see (if they post on YT) me answering trivia correctly for once, ha.)
#avatar the last airbender#ATLA#uncle iroh#iroh atla#braving the elements podcast#Dante Basco#Janet Varney#This was definitely a cool experience!#I was honestly just shocked I got trivia right#But I actually got a few trivia questions right during Comic Con this year#I went to a Hallmark panel and they had a question that was like âhow many squirtles are in the squirtle squadâ#And I remembered seeing the photo of the squirtle squad as part of a meme and said five and got a neat pokeball ornament#I also knew the answer to a Dragon Prince question though I wasnât called for it#It was something like âwhat book is Claudia reading when she is first introduced in the first seasonâ#And I was like â⊠didnât I read on Tumblr that she was reading Love Amongst Dragons?â I remember it because it was an Avatar reference ha#That panel sucked though. Dragon Prince season 4 was so disappointing that I legit couldnât get through it#Theyâre on season six now⊠somehow.#I just wanted the free pin they promised to give out to everyone#Which I ended up getting five of since they kept passing me the bag with the pins and I was like⊠donât mind if I do.

DO YA THINGKU
for a twitter trend of redrawing miku as album covers!! i wanted to do one of my favorite single from gorillaz. Cover-accurate ver + closeups:
this was definitely the biggest thing ive drawn this year!! and a good chunk of it on stream. thank you everyone who tuned in!! it was loads more fun to make in company :]
#gorillaz#vocaloid#hatsune miku#doyathing#do ya thing#andre3000#andre3k#album miku#miku albums#jamie hewlett#admin draws#fanart#phew alright finally#i finished this late yesterday#it ended up kind of being a style study! i did heavily reference the body lineart for this bc it was gonna take long enough#without reinventing the wheel. but i did colors from scratch#im a very impatient person artwise but this was very satisfying to do and finally finish#i would say my reason for this was that i saw several demon dayz mikus since this trend started#but gorillaz has so much cool art! album and otherwise. so i COULD say that this was made with that in mind#but no. that only came later fkdgslgh. my initial idea came from overlistening to the 13min version#and really wanting to draw miku in a fake muscle shirt. and then it got out of control#hope you enjoy. and maybe not compare the texutures too closely i really had to frankenstein some shit here#phase 3 to 4 is when hewlett really starts going hard on the soft airbrushing in favor of cel and thats a MAJOR weak area of mine#so this was definitely a learning experience

oral exam tips
I have at least one other post on exam tips, but they were mainly focused on giving tips on history exams. To me oral exams in academia have been the norm since high school, but I know that in other countries that might no be the case, so I decided to write down a list of advices coming from someone who is quite used to this kind of tests.
If you aren't used to having oral exams, you might need to change your study method, or at least add a few steps. I recently made a post entirely dedicated to my study method, which might be useful for this, but what I suggest is to add a step in which you review things out loud. What I would do is to just sit down with your notes or your materials and pretend to give a lecture on everything. Even better if you have a friend or family member to listen to you, because by having an active listener you will be forced to not skip stuff and have clear explainations, and they might ask you questions or clarifications. Those are always good because that might happen during the exam as well, but also it will help you memorizing those things. I recommend reviewing out loud multiple times. This way you will get more comfortable with the exposition of the topics you will be tested on, and you'll have a chance to find your own "voice".
by finding your own voice I mean finding a good compromise between using your own words to explain things, while still using the correct specific vocabulary of whatever topic you'll be tested on. This is fundamental. You are not there to recite a poem by heart, you are there to show you have understood the topic, that you sat with it and made it yours. You have to show you know how to clearly explain things but also reflect on it, making links with other things, and so on. At the same time there's some academic and specific vocabulary you want to include, because you are not in fact discussing the topic with a friend. So practicing out loud before the exam is good to find a good compromise between these two things.
I kind of mentioned it already, but it is absolutely fundamental to show that you understood the topic and not just memorized it. Whatever you do do not learn things by heart. It's better to be slightly insicure about a specific date, than to repeat your book word by word. And if you practice enough, and are comfortable enough with the informations in general believe me you can work around those things you can't remember perfectly well as you are being tested. Moreover your mark on the exam will be much higher than if you just learn things by heart.
on the very delicate topic of not remembering something specific you have been asked. Don't panic, you can still kind of save it. Whatever happens do not stay silent. There are several things you can do depending on whatever the question is, and I will later tell you a very specific example of something that happened to me. As I said do not panic, surely you will remember about some context on the topic so start by talking about that. As you are giving the context you might start to remember additionals informations, or you might build up enough informations to be able to logically guess whatever you are not remembering correctly. If you are half sure about something go for it, even if it's the wrong info if you contextualise it well enough you'll show you knew about that and it might just be read as a slip of you confusing two things. Now there might be situations in which the question is so direct that you can't do much, it happened to me once during my Greek history exam. I was asked the specific date of an event, and I could not for the love of the gods remember it. You know what I did? I told the professor, I cann't rememebr the exact date, but giving certain informations (that I then explained) I can tell you it was more or less in this half of this century. What I did was admit a fault, but while doing that I showed her that I knew what we were talking about it, I had enough informations on the matter to logically place it on the chronological line and contextualize it, and showed her that I can in fact work with the informations I studied. And at the end of my exam the professor complimented me on those exact things, saying she appreciated seeing me use my brain instead of midlessly memorizing informations I didn't understand.
So whatever happens do not stay silent. Anything is better than that.
Another potentially bad thing that might happen, and believe me it happened to me multiple times, is panicking so bad that you cannot get the words out, or confuse things. You know what happened everytime I found myself in that situation? The professor clearly saw me panicking, and told me to calm down, wait a couple of minutes, get my ideas in order and try again. And I got good grrades despite that in the end. You are under a lot of pressure, because you are giving an exam, and you have to be quick and ready instead of being able to reflect like with a written exam. Professors know that, and they keep it in mind, and they can tell when you are mixing things up because you are nervous, and not because you don't know things. I once had a professor look at me in the eye after i mixed up numbers on two dates twice in a row, and told me I know you know them take two deep breaths and try again. And I did. I have so many personal stories from my previous degree in which professors saw I was nervous and told me that it was okay I just needed to take a minute and breathe, and honestly that was exactly it. It was okay and I really needed to breathe, and then the exam when well.
The best tip I can give on answering questions is to balance the actual answer of the question with additional informations. You want to give context and add more infos to whatever has been asked to you, but you should also try not to lose focus on what was being asked. My personal way of doing this is to structure the answer in three parts: 1. general context that works as an introduction to the actual direct answer 2. the actual answer 3. further additions like more context, comparaisons and links with other topics or informations you had to study. This way you show off you know things, you make sure to show the professor you are not just rambling because you don't know the answer, and finally show you are comfortable enough with the informations to reflect on them and link them to other things. Ideally the professor will stop you while you are speaking, that in my experience is the best possible sign, because they are satisfied with your exposition and want to move onto other things.
So always build up on the answer to the question you have been asked. Never stop at just the information that serves as an aswer. You studied, it's your time to shine and make yourself proud.
Contextualizing your informations is absolutely fundamental no matter what, again because it shows you have a clear idea about what you are talking about. This can mean making a small introduction on the time and place, if you are an historian like me, or maybe give an introduction on the person you are talking about (whether they are an historical figure or a scholar you are talking about). Adding the little informations you weren't asked about is great. You are briefly mentioning an even and know the date? Add it in. Everything is a good addition.
Again I have definitely already mentioned in previous points but showing you are capable of reflect on the topics you are talking about is always a bonus. Make sure that when you are giving personal options or personal reflections you are stating this is your thought, but that is usually appreciated. After a good exposition of a topic you might even get the professor asking you your opinion on certain things. It happened to me multiple times, often I was asked to give an opinion of books I had to study for the exam, and that always prooved as an oportunity to add more informations and as I said show that I could make reflections of my own.
Last thing, that again kind of came out from other points, is that you want to show you are comfortable enough with the topic to be able to jump from one point to the other while reflecting on things or making comparaisons.
I am pretty sure I have forgotten something, but once again if you have specific questions I am happy to help, my inbox is always open. I know people who aren't used to oral exams are very scared of them, but as long as you try to approach it like a normal conversation on the topics you had to study, and you have practiced, things will be fine. To be quite honest with you after years of experience I'd say I very much prefer oral exams to written ones, because you can in a way shape the conversation and bring it to the topics you liked the most, know best. I hope this post was somewhat helpful to someone out there, and good luck if you are about to take an exam!
#i have kept the post positive and avoided horror stories of professors being rude#there's always the possibility in my personal experience it's more likely you'll find someone humane who will approach you with kindness#in case you happen to find an asshole which sadly sometimes happens and it definitely happened to me remember that they are just an asshole#and nothing more#you'll get throught it#and i am manifesting more kind and not intimidating professors#tbf one of the most intimidating looking profs i have met has been one of the kindest and calmenst people ever#back in my other degree i was panicing real bad and he was so cool with it he totally got it and was super kind about it#anyway i'll stop rambling#also i am very sleepy so i might have missed some typos or badly structured sentences in that case ooops#studyblr#studyinspo#uniblr#historyblr#study tips#exam tips#oral exam tips#university tips#uni advices#study advice#mine#the---hermit

feeling very grateful for the cute barista today who clearly clocked a) my fontaines d.c. tote, and b) the fact i was stuck on a spectacularly bad date, and proceeded to play me an entire playlist of fontaines d.c. and sneak me extra vegan marshmallows with my hot chocolate
#an absolute GEM đ#we need more people in the world like this#they restored my faith in humanity đ#unlike my date#who was⊠well. iâve been on worse ones i guess#but he monologued at me for a two and a half hours#and on the rare times i actually managed to get a word in edge ways or voice an opinion#he just twisted it round to suit what heâd been saying#it REALLY annoyed me#the entire thing annoyed me actually#i am so sick and tired of going on dates with straight white men who feel the need to explain everything to you#as if youâre not a person with a mind and experiences of your own#also wtf is the point on going on a date with someone when you arenât remotely interested in getting to know them???#the man asked me maybe two questions total the entire afternoon#i could write his entire fucking biography#also at the end he said how cool and mysterious i was#and iâm like ????#iâm only mysterious because youâd prefer me to be that than an actual person who you could have had a proper conversation with#*breathes out slowly*#phew okay i was angrier about this than i thought lol#the older i get the less tolerance i have for shit like this đ« #anyway yeah sorry#vent over đ
#iâm just so annoyed because i have SUCH limited energy atm with my pain and fatigue etc and i just wasted it on him ffs#but then again#the cute barista and the fontaines d.c. and the marshmallows were most definitely not a waste of my energy#they totally saved my day honestly đ#fontaines d.c.#lulu posts

Hello rangerâs apprentice fandom can we talk real quick about the stupidest thing Flanagan ever wrote
Itâs about the bows. Yanno, the rangersâ Iconiqueâąïž main weapon. That one. You know the one.
Flanagan. Flanagan why are your rangers using longbows.
âuh well recurve arrows drop fasterâ BUT DO THEY. FLANAGAN. DO THEY.
the answer is no they donât. Compared to a MODERN, COMPOUND (aka cheating) bow, yes, but compared to a longbow? Yâknow, what the rangers use in canon? Yeah no a recurve actually has a FLATTER trajectory. It drops LATER.
This from an article comparing the two:
âBoth a longbow and a recurve bow, when equipped with the right arrow and broadhead combination, are capable of taking down big game animals. Afterall, hunters have been doing it for centuries with both types of bows.
However, generally speaking and all things equal, a recurve bow will offer more arrow speed, creating a flatter flight trajectory and retain more kinetic energy at impact.
The archers draw length, along with the weight of the arrow also affect speed and kinetic energy. However, the curved design of the limbs on a recurve adds to its output of force.â
It doesnât actually mention ANY distance in range! And this is from a resource for bow hunting, which, presumably, WOULD CARE ABOUT THAT SORT OF THING!
Okay so thatâs just. Thatâs just the first thing.
The MAIN thing is that even accounting for âhur dur recurves drop fasterâ LONGBOWS ARE STILL THE STUPID OPTION.
Longbows, particularly and especially ENGLISH longbows, areâas their name suggestsâvery long. English longbows in particular are often as tall or taller than their wielder even while strung, but especially when unstrung. An unstrung longbow is a very long and expensive stick, one that will GLADLY entangle itself in nearby trees, other peopleâs clothes, and any doorway youâre passing through.
And yes, there are shorter longbows, but at that point if youâre shortening your longbow, just get a goddamn recurve. And Flanagan makes a point to compare his rangersâ bows to the Very Long English Longbow.
Oh, do you know how the Very Long English Longbow was mostly historically militarily used? BY ON-FOOT ARCHER UNITS. Do you know what theyâre TERRIBLE for? MOUNTED ARCHERY.
Trust me. Go look up right now âmounted archery longbow.â Youâll find MAYBE one or two pictures of some guy on a horse struggling with a big stick; mostly you will actually see either mounted archers with RECURVES, or comparisons of Roman longbow archers to Mongolian horse archers (which are neat, canât lie, I love comparing archery styles like that).
Anyway. Why are longbows terrible for mounted archery? Because theyâre so damn long. Think about it: imagine youâre on a horse. Youâre straddling a beast that can think for itself and moves at your command, but ultimately independently of you; if youâre both well-trained enough, youâre barely paying attention to your horse except to give it commands. And you have a bow in your hands. If your target is close enough to you that you know, from years of shooting experience, you will need to actually angle your bow down to hit it because of your equine height advantage, guess what? If you have a longbow, YOU CANâT! YOUR HORSE IS IN THE WAY BECAUSE YOUR BOW IS TOO LONG! Worse, itâs probably going to get in the general area of your horseâs shoulder or legs, aka moving parts, which WILL injure your horse AND your bow and leave you fresh out of both a getaway vehicle and a ranged weapon. Itâs stupid. Donât do it.
A recurve, on the other hand, is short. It was literally made for horse archers. You have SO much range of motion with a recurve on horseback; and if youâre REALLY good, you know how to give yourself even more, with techniques like Jamarkee, a Turkish technique where you LITERALLY CAN AIM BACKWARDS.
For your viewing enjoyment, Serena Lynn of Texas demonstrating Jamarkee:
Yes, thatâs real! This type of draw style is INCREDIBLY versatile: you can shoot backwards on horseback, straight down from a parapet or sally port without exposing yourself as a target, or from low to the ground to keep stealthy without banging your bow against the ground. And, while Iâm sure you could attempt it with a longbow, I wouldnât recommend it: a recurveâs smaller size makes it far more maneuverable up and over your head to actually get it into position for a Jamarkee shot.
A recurve just makes so much more SENSE. Itâs not a baby bow! Itâs not the longbowâs lesser cousin! Itâs a COMPLETELY different instrument made to be used in a completely different context! For the rangers of Araluen, who put soooo much stock in being stealthy and their strong bonds with their horses, a recurve is the perfect fit! Itâs small and easily transportable, itâs more maneuverable in combat and especially on horseback, it offers more power than a longbow of the same draw weightâreally, truly, the only advantage in this case that a longbow has over the recurve is that longbows are quicker and easier to make. But we KNOW the rangers donât care about that, their KNIVES use a forging technique (folding) that takes several times as long as standard Araluen forging practices at the time!
Okay.
Okay I think Iâm done. For now.
#to be VERY clear. I Am Not An Actual Expert.#i AM however drawing from my own experience and research#and literally i can find Zero literature about recurve arrow flights dropping faster than longbows#all i could find was that recurve range is worse compared to compound bows#which. OBVIOUSLY. compound bows CHEAT.#(said lovingly. ish. if you use a compound more power to you but also Itâs Doing All The Work For You.)#this article was literally all i could find from a couple hoursâ search comparing recurves and longbows#anyway recurves are cool. flanagan why did you do recurves so dirty.#for that matter why are all your women blonde.#(iâm not including brotherband here sorry)#(but also why did it take a spinoff series for him to create a named female character that wasnât a blonde)#(flanagan explain)#god these books have so many problems. truly this is my âi could fix himâ#thank you flanagan for getting me into this special interest. now Tell Me Why You Did It Wrong.#rangers apprentice#anyway if you REALLY want to read about some bangin historical horse archers#look up the parthians :)#specifically how they fucking Decimated an entire roman contingent :)#crassus getting absolutely demolished by mounted archer parthians is definitely my favorite bit of roman trivia

i do genuinely think an adult, fully-realized kon would be able to defeat superman in a fight. not just saying that bc he's my fav or whatever but because like. ttk is so op. telekinetic power with the range and raw strength to destroy every single gun in LA, and the finesse of control to not destroy anything else? that alone is a huge force to be reckoned with. add kryptonian abilities on top of that and you've got a fucking powerhouse. like um devs? op tbh pls nerf (except don't, because i find that sooooo tasty.)
because to clark, i think this is a good thing! it isn't quite so lonely when he's got a little brother/son/they really can't label it but they're family, who understands the alienation. the burden of having so much power. the fear of what your own hands can do. he sees in kon a kindred spirit, although it also saddens him that kon has to feel this burden too.
but kon?
oh, kon is terrified of himself.
#guy who has mind control and ''i was made as a weapon'' trauma realizes he can't even rely on the fact that superman could always stop him#he doesn't handle that well#it's tragic for him that he's so scared of himself bc *i* find his insane op-ness so fun cool and sexy.#also it should go without saying but like raw strength isn't everything in a fight and clark has more experience etc#like i don't think it's any sort of OOH WELL THERE'S A DEFINITIVE POWER RANKING anyway#but i think that adult fully realized kon does stand a very real chance of being able to beat clark in a fight#and that that fact scares the shit out of him#bc superman? that's his idol he shouldn't be able to ever touch him#clark is proud of him (what dadbrothercousin doesn't love to see his sonbrotherwhatever grow and even surpass him in his eyes?)#meanwhile kon is about to have a nervous breakdown#it's fun. not for him but for me <3#kon#clark#rimi talks

#We've had our yearly secret santa gifts exchange at my dorm and I've been gifted the first volume of Beast đđđđđ#I'm crying forever. This december marks three years since I've watched the first b/sd episode#and yet this is the first time I actually own a b/sd manga volume. Like I own it and I can read it whenever I want!!! How cool is that!!!!!#Like there's so many Akutagawa images in it!!!! It's insane!!!!!!!! AND IT'S BEAST AT THAT#I'm deeply moved because I never spoke about it to virtually anyone here (at my dorm)?#Like I suppose a bunch of people vaguely know I like anime but only a couple of close friends know I like. Like-like reading manga lol.#And the person who gifted it DEFINITELY didn't know I like anime in general much less b/sd specifically much less Beast in particular!!!!!#I'm 100% sure (they just arrived this year and we hadn't even had that much occasions to talk to each other).#Which means they went through the trouble of gathering intel from my close friends about what I like and actually follow throughâ#seek for the specific manga in a comic store etc... It's such a nice gesture I'm so heartwarmed.#And of course I'm glad for every gift I've received in the last years (genuinely)â but the fact that this was the most *specific* to whatâ#I like. It makes it so special! They were so kind.#There must be one (1) person in this whole 60 people dorm who knows I like Beastâ#(that would be the girl who introduced b/sd to me in the first place) and the fact that they asked them for it...#I feel both very grateful and lucky lol#When I unwrapped it!!! Like I thought it was just a random book which would have been nice but like!!!!!#When I actually saw through the thin paper the cover!!!! The scream I screamed in my head#Anyways!!!! I own a b/sd manga now!!!!! I've only got time to go through the first chapter so far but it's suchhhh an experience.#It's like reading it for the first time again đđđ Half because the translation is so much different than the English one lol.#And I basically know the English version by heart. Half because I never saw this kind of high quality!!!!! It's!!!!! Insane!!!!! Like!!!!!!#I'm crying đđđ The drawings are so sharp and crisp (in the good way). The lines are so clean there's no disturbance at all#I literally never saw anything so good in my life I'm crying a little. I'm so so glad they blessed me with Beast specifically#The takebon edition is pretty cheap (it's just planet manga so there's no color illustrations or dust cover or anything unfortunatelly.#But to make up for it the volumes are significantly cheaper then let's say J-Pop)#There's also some unique typesetting choices? The text from the book-like boxes is in lowercase which is interesting!#Initially I thought I wouldn't have liked the translation (opening it randomly there was Akutagawa saying âcrepa!â (âdie!â) to Dazai in ch1#Which was kinda jarring since it's very low register and everyone knows Akutagawa has very complex speech patterns.)#But actually reading it I'm really enjoying the translation so far!!!!#There's so many choices that made me grasp details I actually missed all the times I've read the English translation.#That is to say! Very excited to read it!!!! Will probably make a review / translation commentary if I can find the time!!!!!

"the michael kandel translation of "the witcher" short story can't hurt you!!"
the michael kandel translation of "the witcher" short story:
#WE HERE IN K L O T H S T U R#the witcher books#[ Nobody liked that. ]#i like how the first two 'main' translations (like published for mass market circulation ones i mean)#were like 'no we can't call it a strzyga... no no...'#(maybe like: 'the english readers won't understand...')#and then when the game and book hit (i.e. both beginning with geralt fighting the striga)#everyone was like 'whoa that striga was really cool'#idk idk enough about it yet to say anything definitively#but my experience and all the other reviews and experiences i've read#from other anglophone readers with no prior exposure to polish or broader slavic myth or culture#has been just like: 'whoa i never knew about that... that's really unique and cool'#and on the flip side. originally witcher gained popularity in part because of the familiarity of the fairy tale#and so despite that witcher in general takes a lot of everything from across europe#if i may just summarize it really obtusely and without taking the precaution of nuance and all#although the first two translations were very much intended to feature polish writers and writing#in the way of the actual translation it feels like they tried to diminish its 'polishness' for the english reader#like for example in chosen by fate itself there are no diacritics (though idk maybe that was a lack of capability of the printing press)#it FEELS like that i'm not saying it was intentional but#for example when you don't say 'leshies' and instead say 'bugbears' that feels like diminishing it#but then later when the witcher's quote-unquote 'polishness' is allowed to come through clearer#then it actually is part of why english audiences were like whoa this is interesting i like it :)#you know real-life events are stories too. and i feel like this is a story with a good moral: 'be yourself'#this is also one of the prime subjects where i disagree with sapkowski lol#because re: 'death of the author' theory type stuff. authors cannot control how their works are interpreted by their audiences#works get interpreted on their own fortunately or unfortunately#so though i think it would be misled to engage with the witcher as if its ONLY good quality is its 'polishness'#i think that also it should be acknowledged how its unique take on culture made it appealing to both domestic and foreign audiences#i think where the problem lies is when we believe it can't be both polish and a blend of multiple cultures and traditions#because like yeah. author is an arthurian weeb

nothing is wilder to me than how many knock offs have edward be a sexually experienced dom who has been with tons of women when in the twilight saga, edward is the one that makes him and bella get married before they have sex and is constantly stopping them when their makeouts get too heavy
meanwhile, bella spends the second half of the series horny 24/7 and explicitly doesnât want to be turned until after her wedding night, risking her life to have sex with a vampire while still human because she doesnât want her thirst for blood to be stronger than her want for edward when they have sex for the first time
mandatory âread the truth vs twilight page from the burke museum and the quileute tribe right nowâ and âconsider helping the quileute tribe continue their move to higher groundâ note. thank you!
#now i canât say definitively that bellas a dom but i can say if anyone in an au is gonna have more experience it just FEELS like it'd be her#whereâs the book where heâs a sheltered mormon boy who moved out of utah for school and bella is a cool college girl with a big friend grou#that she has lots of casual hookups with and i know in canon sheâs not interested in anyone else but walk with me#if edward has had his time as dom with 10000 partners then bella gets to have a ton of sex now instead. equality.#i think bella is actually kinda lame but sheâs got like. lame chill smoker girl vibes to me. i think we can make it happen.#i also think she should do more mechanic stuff in this story iâm imagining I want her fucking around#in the engine of edwardâs expensive loser car#it's equality for bella to be the sexually experienced cool person who edward finds intimidating. and they can both be toxic still idc#edward can still be abusive in this too who cares we can do whatever but at least be more interesting and unique#anyway;#hereâs your rant of the day#not pjo#chitter chatter

bug blues got me DOWN im having crazy species dysphoria (?) for the past couple days... i wanna know people's tips for presenting more bug-like physically (as vague or as specific as possible, doesnt matter to me) and see if that will help me, but its not something im finding easily..... invertebrate therians lend me your aid
#therianthropy#therian#bug therian#original nonsense#personal#<- i dont really interact with a broader therian community usually so idk if im using the right.... idk language..#when looking at peoples therian postings i had to keep looking up definitions lol. so im not v familiar with the lingo.....#i look up peoples experiences as invertebrate therians and ppl point out ways that they are similar/connected to their theriotype#and im like shit am i doing therianthropy wrong LOL cuz im just like. im this thing and i hate that i dont look like it.#i say bug to be really generic bc IDK WHAT I AM i think broadly im connected to earthworms and centipedes...#but am i like those in my current state in any way? no i think they are simply epic.#and they are tugging something madly at my soul.#i have my coyote tail i wear and its so cool to me and i would love to have like... a clip on worm tail or centipede end segments..
