this is a sort of recap post for the huabiao awards and basically a post to celebrate yibo and the amazing actor that he is. i know that we all have mixed feelings about this, and every other nomination that he didn’t win, but it’s important to go back to why we are here and support him. it’s because he is yibo and his works do not disappoint both the fans and the general audience. we already won when we watched those films — whenever that was for you.

we were all holding our breath if he will make it to the red carpet, sadly, he didn’t. that actually went on hs. his schedule was already so tight with the race and flying to qingdao. thankfully, his team took some excellent photos of him and with all the racer 85 related props 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

then as soon as he sat down, he was a bit late to the ceremony too, the host cued him and mentioned his name. he stood up and bowed to the audience. i love the cheers for him!

the award for outstanding actor was early, i guess all of us got nervous and hopeful that he will get it. he didn’t but he was so gracious. he was nodding and clapping. the tag on hs for him is how you can’t lipread what he’s saying. some are guessing that he said that it’s not easy, meaning it’s not easy to win it. and considering he was up against zhang yi, it makes sense.

you probably read about how hard it is to get nominated for this category. this award is given every 2 years. no distinction between supporting and main actor and there are only 2 nominees. just imagine all the eligible movies and actors — but still, yibo was chosen. he is the first post 90s actor to get nominated. and this is technically, within his first year of being a movie actor and releasing his works.

i have no bad blood with zhang yi. he is a well loved actor and what a coincidence that they both posted about each other’s movie before, and now, they ended up being nominated side by side.

yibo recognizes excellence. if anything, i’m sure this makes him want to strive more to be on that level. i’m trying hard to not quote timothee chalamet’s SAG speech here but it fits so well — “ i know we’re in a subjective business, but the truth is I’m really in pursuit of greatness. I know people don’t usually talk like that, but I want to be one of the greats.” and he is on his way to becoming one of the greats. it’s a privilege to watch him grow into that, and i hope we all stay on for years to come and see it happen.

the surprise was how he was actually gonna be onstage. not only that, he was there with zhang ziyi and jackie chan to give a tribute to Chinese Cinema. it makes me proud to see him be the representative of the young generation. because he really is. and he doesn’t even need to pretend and perform to be that — he already is. it comes natural to him.

overall, he was in a good mood. why wouldn’t he? he is attending an event celebrating the movies he worked hard for. tho my favorite is when he smiled like a kid after he presented on stage and how he was interacting with his seat mates — especially Ma Li.

lastly, i’ll talk about some pre-awards chatter. weeks before, people were talking about if yibo would go or not. moreso, if he will be nominated. it’s so ironic cause his antis were babbling about how people that are not invited are blacklisted cause it’s the 120th anniversary celebration. but lo and behold — not only is he attending. all the films he participated in are nominated. he is nominated as best actor. and during the broadcast, he went onstage with jackie chan and zhang ziyi. 😂😂😂😂

it’s the usual song and dance. it’s yibo’s favorite past time. proving his haters wrong.

same thing with them saying he is “banned” because it’s been a while since his last movie project - mermaid. clearly not. tonight’s program showed how he is the movie darling. he is just doing what he said he will be in his past interview, that he wants to experience the world to be able to be better in his craft. i couldn’t get that out of my head when he said it and that explains all his decisions. he is gonna be so selective with his next movie project and i’m excited what he picks next! he’s always had an excellent intuition of what roles will work well and challenge him. the rest can breathe for a while cause he is not coming for their wigs — yet. lol. i have a feeling that as soon as mermaid is out, he is gonna raise the bar again. we just have to wait patiently.

mosercest is a fucking plague on this fandom like i don’t really give a fuck about people’s weird obsession with shipping siblings but I have terribly bad incest OCD and given that i’m a fictive and technically don’t have any biological family members, even in headspace records, it usually comes out of the fear that i would commit these things or others think that i would. the amount of mosercest in the Dexter fandom as a whole is shocking, especially given that i have every tag relating to the ship blocked or blacklisted on various sites and still manage to be bombarded with these fucking images and stories of the only thing that i’m actually sensitive about because you people won’t tag your fucking shit correctly and think that biological abominations are hot.

TLDR; tag your fucking mosercest shit correctly so people stop seeing your ass text posts/disgusting drabbles on their dash if they’re not as depraved and genuinely fucked in the head as you. get a life and some real tangible friends off the internet and maybe you’ll see how fucked up it is to think of siblings that way. thank you.

While I love people’s own adaptations of what Agent Stone would look like as a character from the games, I feel some of them miss the mark whenever they have him looking too devious or sinister, or generally just as eccentric as Eggman.

Part of his appeal in his original appearance (imo) is the contrast of his completely professional demeanor to Robotnik’s eccentricity and over-the-top antics. It’s what makes it so good, mad scientist wanting to detonate a speedy blue rodent with missiles and lasers & his secretary that makes him coffee and always maintains his composure & professionalism despite the fact that his boss is crazy.

And yet he is utterly enthralled by Robotnik’s eccentricity, and is utterly loyal to a fault because of it. He’s an utter sycophant.

Like, I don’t think he would be maniacally laughing alongside Eggman. Because that supposes them as equals– they’re not, and he likes it that way. I think he’d be organizing Badnik patrols while Eggman focuses on larger schemes. Polishing up Metal Sonic’s paint job before sending him out on the doctor’s orders. Adjusting the volume levels while Eggman delivers his speeches to world leaders. And, of course, making him a a latte while he razes the land with a fleet of battleships and machines.

There was a buzz of activity in the Neighborhood. Neighbors went to and fro as they completed their tasks for the day. If two happened to cross paths, they only stopped to chat for a moment before hurrying on their separate ways.

Wally, the resident known for being very easy-going, was the exception to this. He had taken a basket of items outside to enjoy the nice weather, claiming a large patch of grass away from the hubbub. A large, checkered picnic blanket was spread out underneath him, and one might be forgiven for thinking that he was having lunch. However, instead of a selection of food, there were art supplies inside the basket. Most notable was a large box of crayons, but there were also other items, like pencils, coloured strips of paper, stickers, and a notebook.

He knelt in front of a large art pad that took centre stage on the blanket. Black eyes were focused on the large, empty sheet. A bright red crayon was in his hand as he mulled over what to do. Then, inspiration. The hand went this way and that way, allowing the crayon to glide across the surface. With every movement, the lines began to join together, creating form and shape that went beyond disjointed red markings. An oval for the head, a long neck, an egg shape for the body, four sturdy legs, and... Wings?

Oh! He was drawing a dragon!

i hate how i find these comfort zones in art and i stay there because just stepping one foot outside is scary af. this happened with destiny and i tried getting out of it multiple times but it was scary and i was convinced that if i started drawing anything else but destiny people would jump ship (haha) and i would have to start from 0.

now it happened with bg3, i have been drawing art for that game for 2 years and i got used to it and it's nice and safe, the difference is that I know I can draw other stuff and my art will find it's audience, and the people that follow me enjoy my art not whatever i was obsessed with drawing at that moment.

BUT still, i now spent 2 weeks agonizing over my kcd art because i am not used to draw this stuff maybe i am just insecure idk but i need to keep doing this again and again until it goes away. i get so stressed drawing things for the first time, that i then immediately go back to drawing whatever was safe and comfortable and if you go to my art blog you can see it. i was drawing lucanis and it was my first artwork for dragon age so i was stressed out of my mind. and okay i drew lucanis again and then davrin and then i immediately went back to bg3 because that was scary and i want to go back to wherever was comfy and safe. THIS NEEDS TO STOP my art is shit because of this and i dont mean it isn't pretty or it's bad, no it's not that, i know its "good" but it lacks inspiration, it has no soul it's content it's not art.

ive probably talked about it before but there is obviously an inherent tragedy when it comes to the awakening second gen that is present in all of their characters, but some of them are definitely more comic relief-y than others? which is fine but i think the funniest thing ever is the devs making inigo fire emblem almost entirely a gimmick haha funny character (with like. TWO exceptions in his supports and those two exceptions are literally just his parents) and then realizing “hey people kinda like this guy. lets switch it up a bit for the dlc” and then made like. the best character in the world. like who knew all people needed to enjoy the womanizer trope was to drop him in situations where flirting was no longer an option. then come fates hes like a whole different guy (in a good way!) which, yes you can chalk up to him growing up, but theres a clear difference in how he was written and how selena and odin were written in the same guy and you can just see how the writers were like “holy shit we struck gold with this one” like its crazy hes crazy hes my favorite guy in the world. AND HES STILL FUNNY
