thinking to myself "hmm i have this idea for a plot beat in my fic, but it'll be a challenge to communicate this subtle emotional reality through character interactions and internal monologue" and then stopping and going "wait. im writing a kingdom hearts fic. i can just make it literal and turn it into a fight scene or Lore or something"

i feel like something that’s so fun about watching d20 specifically is the intersection of comedy improvisation and roleplaying. like actively choosing your reaction in the moment to make the bit funnier AND incorporating that into your character?

specifically thinking about the way gorgug and kristen as characters walk that line — kristen’s inability to take anything seriously in fhjy is partially ally going for the throat comedically (“what are you, 4 different dogs?”, “heyyy girlie”, stripping down in the hallway, the interaction w her parents) but then it fully becomes part of kristens character arc of “chaos isn’t cute”.

and gorgug at the festival was obviously zac choosing to be the straight man and playing up his reaction for laughs (“the lawnmower? the lawnmower?”) but it also perfectly fits gorgugs character of awkward kid with extremely vocally sex positive parents + barbarian rage = kid who’s absolutely fucking had it today, and just adds that beautiful roundness to gorgugs mostly peaceful character

Cute little thing I appreciated from Stampede is how Meryl is constantly uncomfortable and sweating in the heat of the world, really sets her apart from the others (who are used to the heat) as a person who had the privilege to grow up in comfort

scott taking away pearls choice with the tnt in the double life finale vs scott taking away gems choice with his self sacrifice in the secret life finale. pearl’s “please don’t die in front of me bigb it’s deja vu” in episode one of limited life (before they were even teamed!!) and desire for all of her allies to outlive her vs gem’s “i should probably sacrifice myself… i was on the receiving end of a lot of sacrifices last season and i don’t want to be a part of that” in this session of wild life. what if i ate my own fist
