there is a difference between being born to a throne, maliciously vying for a throne, stealing a throne, and having a throne thrust upon you when you are already in the midst of an identity crisis. And I fear Loki's place in the line of succession has people unable to differentiate between any of these
#you can't really argue he planned the extent of Thor's downfall#that was all Odin#Loki didn't force Thor to invade Jotunheim he isn't even the one who gave Thor the idea -- Thor did that all on his own!#that he was doing waswasa @ thor didn't help but wasn't really crime worthy on its own#Thor himself took time convincing the other warriors to be okay with the trip despite the treason and danger involved#like. what. Thor can't differentiate good advice from bad and is emotionally volatile and reckless and that's Loki's fault?#THOR was the one who got them past Heimdall too#the entire ordeal inadvertently showed off the favouritism Thor was receiving in comparison to Loki#even though Loki was the one supposedly so easily influencing Thor to such an extent#call Thor a puppet the way he--wait. no. that sounds weird. uhhhhh#you get the point#people will claim Loki was all up in there rearranging Thor's mental processes to cause his downfall#when really it was Loki doing the bare minimum instigation and watching things only devolve from there#because Thor WAS reckless and immature ?? and he WAS quick to anger and enjoyed exerting his power with violence ??#Loki didn't STEAL THE THRONE FROM THOR he literally just is implied to undermine the coronation#that's not even confirmed but we assume it's true that he let the frost giants in near the casket etc.#Loki has his own actual crimes that he did against Thor and hugging his bro's arm and saying 'you're soooooo strong and correct' was not on#even if you manage to argue Loki was cheering Thor on for the invasion (he wasn't) it was clearly to dob Thor in with Odin#which he did when he had some guard inform Odin#that Odin's chosen punishment was for Thor's disobedience aside stop blaming Loki for the damage ODIN inflicted on him#focus on Loki making up lies to Thor about how Odin died instead like at least Loki DID SOMETHING for that#you can even ascribe as evil a motive as you want there bc Loki was slipping fr#twirling his hair and telling Thor he's smarter about the realm's safety than the king was on the normal scale#you want to talk morals go look at how eager Thor was to invade mass destroy and massacre in the other realm#and expected Odin to 'finish them off! together!' bc he was power high on whatever bloodlust pheromones battle apparently imitates for him#sigh. this is why you can't have nice things Thor. no Loki you're barely any better. sit down. have a cookie.

avengers - backstories !!!
one â you gain powers while in Pepperâs belly, she goes down to the lab looking for Tony, Tony and Bruce were experimenting with gamma waves and the tesseract, basically both waves kinda like go through Pepper so Tony and Bruce run a bunch of tests but it seems like Pepper was never exposed to any of that by the tests and her glowing stomach reveals you gained some sort of abilities from that and absorbed it all, saving her.
two â you grow up in a rich russian family, they were deep into politics and all that shady stuff, soon enough a school, similar to the Black Widow program has opened up, their goal is to train special set of spies to infiltrate russiaâs enemies, so they start off with teens, the facility trains and educates but in a way less brutal way then Red Room, there is no torture or killing, nothing too traumatic, while the facility teaches you to fight, many languages etc. the main goal is to be a good spy, not a killer, there is a little group of people that are trained so those who pass the test are send into field and that is when SHIELD locates you and offers you a job.
three â black cat type of a story?? you can be a teen at Peterâs school or have your CR life, when it all takes a turn as a stray scratches you, soon enough you notice your senses are heightened and so are you balance, gymnastics etc, you start to gain cat like traits. one day you see the avengers/spider-man in action or just someone who needs help, so you go to help them, the whole thing is recorded by some civilians and goes viral, thatâs how the avengers/shield identifies you and recruits you.
four â child of a shield agent, like coulson or may or even daisy if youâre up for messing with the timeline (daisy could go back to the past with sousa etc) or a relative, you could be born with powers or gain them on a mission or have no powers, but your skill set and abilities are impressive to the point when youâre offered to be a part of the avengers team.
five â a child of a mortal being and a god/goddess, that has a prophecy to fulfill, shield finds you because of your magical abilities, but soon enough thor shows up, now will the prophecy be fulfilled or not is up to you.
six â siblings or a childhood friend (like another god/goddess child or heimdallâs kid) to thor or loki who goes to help thor look for loki on earth in the avengers movie.
seven â adoptive daughter of natasha romanoff, you were trained in self defence since you were a teen and considering who your mother is, you got an offer at shield.
eight â sharon carterâs sister, who joined shield as well, once again you could gain powers on a mission or just have great combat skills that make you fit for the avengers.
nine â super solider, shield managed to recreate the serum before captain america was found in the ice and you were chosen to be the next symbol of america, but when steve gets found it all goes to shit and youâre just a super solider, until a spot at the avengers team is offered to you.
ten â born with powers, you start as a vigilante and get quite the reputation, then shield catches you and offers you a job.

Loki Falls In Love
Summary: Loki came with Thor to Midgard to get Jane for a New Yearâs ball on Asgard. When Loki meets Janeâs roommate, he unexpectedly falls in love. (Y/n has lived with Jane for a few months)
Warnings: Adults only! 18+. Fluff with a smutty ending then a little more fluff.
-This is my first story so bare with me. I couldâve made it into 2 parts.
I lost the password to my OG account (gamergoddess98) and this is my new one.
________
On Christmas Eve, Jane and y/n were in the living room of their apartment talking about what they wished for Christmas. Jane would talk about how she missed Thor and how she longed to see him again. Looking into Janeâs eyes, y/n confessed that she has never felt real love and how she envies her relationship with Thor.
In the middle of y/n talking, a loud sound appeared outside. The sound was a familiar sound to Jane but y/n has no clue what is to come next.
Jane and y/n run outside, to see two men standing in the snow. Jane runs to Thor and hugs him tightly.. but whoâs that with Thor? It was his brother, Loki. He stepped aside as he rolled his eyes at Thor and Jane.
Y/n noticed the dark prince and how handsome he was. She had never felt anything like this before. Her heart fluttered and her face got warm. She didnât know what to do when Lokiâs eyes met hers for just a moment.
âItâs cold, letâs go inside!â Jane suggested.
Once all inside, Thor explained that there was going to be a New Yearâs ball at the castle in Asgard. He was here to ask Jane to come with him to the ball, which she excitedly said yes. Thor and Loki would then stay a couple nights on Midgard, leading up to New Yearâs Eve.
Over the days, Loki and y/n have gotten to know each other and y/n has yet to confess her feelings for Loki, even though they met only days ago. Loki asked y/n if she would like to come to Asgard with them so she wouldnât be alone on the holiday.
It was the morning of New Yearâs Eve, and it was time to go to Asgard for the ball. They all stood together as a rainbow tunnel beamed down from the sky.
âWelcome to Asgard.â Says Heimdall. âGuards, please escort these two beautiful ladies to be prepared for the ball.
Walking through the corridors, y/n and Jane went into separate rooms for them to get dressed.
After a moment of being in the room alone, a few women enter to dress you and do your hair and makeup. After it was all done, you turn to look in the mirror at the girl you didnât recognize yourself to be. You were dressed in a beautiful gown, colored in white, gold, and beige. Your hair loosely braided and the ends slightly curled. You had small small white flowers weaved in your hair. The makeup on your face wasnât too much but just enough to make your eyes pop and your lips kissable.
Later that night, at the time of the ball, standing at the end of the stairs leading to the ball room were Thor, Jane, and Loki. Loki pulled Thor aside.
âI must confess something to you, brother.â Thor looked confused yet also interested. âEver since we landed on Midgard at Janeâs and I laid eyes upon y/n, I havenât been able to stop thinking about her.â Looking at Loki with an eyebrow raised, âAsk her to dance.â âBut what if she-â âAsk her to dance! The worst she could say is no. Besides, sheâs gotten to know you over the past few days so-â
Jane interrupts Thor and Lokiâs conversation, âSheâs so pretty!â
They both turn to look and see y/n walking down from the top of the stairs. She smiles as she sees them. She then makes eye contact with Loki and they both felt their hearts about to burst from their chests.
Thor and Jane notice the two of them locking eyes and not looking away. Thor then patting on Lokiâs shoulder before offering Jane his arm as an excuse to walk away and leave the two alone.
Now alone, Loki clears his throat and says ây/nâ as he does a slight bow. All y/n could do was smile. So many feelings of butterflies in her stomach and no words to say. They break eye contact as they look away in slight nervousness.
Thinking of what Thor said about asking y/n to dance, it was hard to. He wanted to. He was nervous. He then has an idea.
âWould you like to see the view from the garden? Itâs just right through these doors.â
Y/n looked at Loki and shyly nodded yes with a smile that made Loki smile.
Walking outside, y/nâs face lit up to see a beautiful garden with flowers of plenty and paths to walk upon. Loki led y/n to the spot he mentioned and from there, you could see the whole garden, and the clear night-time sky.
As y/n was looking into the Asgardian night sky, she says âIâve never seen anything so beautiful.â Loki then looks at her (y/n still looking into the distance) and pauses. Heâs mind racing about his feelings for her. He turns to y/n and says âIâve seen this sky over a thousand times and yes it is indeed beautifulâŠ.but not as beautiful as you.â
Y/nâs heart sake to her stomach and her eyes widened as she looks away from the sky and looked into Lokiâs eyes. For a moment, y/n was excited but then she looked away with a slightly saddened look upon her face. Loki, noticing her expression, he is concerned so he asks whatâs wrong.
âYouâre a prince. Youâve been here thousands of years. I know youâve been with many woman in the past and I donât want you to see me as one of them.â
Loki turns to look y/n in the eyes. âThose women meant nothing to me. Ever since I laid my eyes upon you in Midgard, Iâve had this.. feeing..â Loki pauses and looks away, âand Iâve never felt like this before.â
Y/n looks at Loki with a welcoming smile. âI feel the same way.â
Thor and Jane walk out the doors that lead to the garden and see Loki and y/n standing together in the garden, too far away to hear what they are talking about. Jane tugs Thorâs arm as they both see Loki hold out his hand to y/n and bring her hand to his lips to lay a soft kiss upon her knuckles. Excited for the two love birds, Thor and Jane decide to stay and watch from afar.
Loki, holding y/nâs hand, asked âWould you care to have this dance?â for they can hear the slow music lingering from the castle. Y/n smiled and nodded yes.
Loki adjusted her hand in his and placed his other hand on her hip. Dancing to the music, all they could do was stare into each other eyes and smile from the happiness theyâre sharing together. After a short while, suddenly, Loki twirled y/n in a circle then pulled her in close. The next thing y/n knows, her body was pressed against his and his face was inches from hers. He looked y/n in the eyes then slowly lowers his face down to plant a kiss on her lips.
Drowning in her first kiss with Loki, she wrapped her arms around his neck. He held her in his arms as their kiss was still, yet long. Once the kiss broke, he rested his forehead on hers and said softly âI wish I found you centuries ago.â At loss for words, y/n smiles and lays her head on his chest.
Holding each other, both looking off into the distance, moments went by before Loki said the most unexpected thing.
âIf only you could.. if you could stay here, and live thousands of years, I would ask you to marry me.â He blushed as y/n looked up at him. âI would love to spend the rest of my life with you⊠a hundred years or a thousand, I could look into your eyes forever.â
Loki then knelt down on one knee and used his magic to conjure up a ring. Holding the gold and emerald ring, he takes y/n by the hand and says âI know weâve only known each other for a few days but it feels like Iâve known you much longer. Will you marry me?â Y/n grew a big smile on her face and happily said yes. He slipped the ring on her finger and stood up to hug her tight.
The clock strikes midnight and Loki kisses his princess to be. Thor then acts as if he and Jane werenât standing there, watching nearly the whole time and calls Loki. The two break the kiss and look up at Thor in embarrassment then step away from each other. Loki holds out his arm and it is taken by y/n and they walk back to the castle to meet with Thor and Jane.
Thor looks to Loki and says âFather would like to speak with you.â Thor and Loki then make their way to speak with the King, leaving Jane and y/n by themselves. With the night getting late, Jane and y/n make their way back to their rooms. Instead of Jane leaving y/n at her room and going on to hers, she walked in behind y/n and looked at her with a big smile on her face.
âWhat?â Y/n says to Jane.
âHow was your walk with Loki?â
âIt was a dream come true! I donât know what to make of it! HeâŠâ y/n looks down at the ring on her finger. âHe asked me to marry him.â She holds up her hand to show the ring to Jane. âI donât know what to do. My life is only but a small moment in time when compared to his life. He wants me to be his forever but my forever isnât his forever.â
All Jane could do was smile in excitement. She seemed to know things that y/n didnât. Y/n was still unaware that Thor and Jane were watching her and Loki in the garden.
(Cut to Loki and Odin)
âLoki! You offered your hand to a mortal! Her life is not worth the time. You need to be seeking a maiden here on Asgard.â Odin sternly said at Loki.
âFather, I feel great love for this woman and I want to spend every moment with her! I- I donât care how short her life is compared to mine! I love her!â
Odin knowing his son Loki and knowing he doesnât just feel love for someone, stops to think. He then shares an old spell that is forbidden to use. This spell doesnât give eternal life but it makes the person live the lifespan of a god or goddess.
âFather, are you saying that you accept y/n to be here? To be a part of the family? To live long here with us?â Loki asks.
âYes, my son. You seem happy. More happy than ever.â
A guard escorts y/n into the room where Loki and Odin were. Odin and Loki then proceed to explain the spell to y/n and she becomes so happy knowing that sheâll be able to be with Loki for thousands of years.
Weeks go by after the spell had been cast and the day of their wedding had arrived. The throne room was filled with many people. Odin sat in the throne as Loki stood just feet away from him at the end of a clear aisle.
The room fell silent when Odin stood up. Wedding music started to play and everyone turned their heads towards the door. Loki froze at the sight of his bride in her wedding dress. He was both excited and nervous. Y/n approaches and stands in front of Loki. The two say their vows and seal their marriage with a kiss. Loki and y/n, hand in hand, walk down the aisle and off to their honeymoon.
Loki and y/n wanted to be traditional and save themselves until after the wedding. They have yet to enter each others room or do anything more than a kiss. And for the first time, they both enter Lokiâs bedroom.
Y/n walks in and takes a look around. Colors of black and green with hints of gold fill his room. She steps towards the bed and reaches out to feel the silky emerald blanket spread neatly across the soft mattress.
*Click* You turn to see that Loki has locked the bedroom door. He starts walking towards y/n with a devious smirk on his face. He walks up to y/n, grabs her waist, and pulls her in for a passionate kiss. Y/n closes her eyes, taking in the kiss. She wraps her arms around his neck and he takes her veil and tosses it on a chair.
Loki pulls away from the kiss slowly to gaze into her eyes. While keeping eye contact, he slowly glides his hands to her lower back, tugging at the strings that laced up her dress. Y/n started to undo the buttons on his shirt. Within moments, Loki had finished unlacing her dress. He goes in for another kiss as he slides the dress off her shoulders and it falls to the floor, along with his shirt. Now they are both free to move around more.
Passionately kissing y/n, Loki slides his large hands down her back and onto her ass. He then pulls her up onto him and she wraps her legs around him. Still holding her and kissing her, he sits on the bed. Hands now free as she sits on his lap, he unclips her bra and tosses it aside. Feeling his way up her bare back, he untangles his fingers in her hair and lightly pulls to the side. He lays a hot kiss on her neck. Y/n feels a wave of warmth and tingles throughout her body and starts to slightly grind on him. He lets out a soft moan before gently biting her neck.
Holding her, he stands up and turns around, laying y/n on the bed. She sits up on her elbows and watches as he unbuckles his belt and pulls down his pants. Y/n can see how big and hard he is through his underwear. He leans over her on the bed and goes in for a romantic kiss, his hand investigating her chest. Loki starts to kiss her down her jawline and onto her neck. His hands continue to investigate her and she lets out a slight gasp once his fingertips found their way to her panty line.
He stops kissing her neck and looks at her with a hungry smile. He kissed down her neck and across her breast and stomach. Even though he could use magic, he used his teeth to grab her underwear and pulls them off. Y/n sits her head up to look at him when suddenly she throws her head back onto the bed.
âOhhhh Lokiiiâ she moans softly. He pressed his lips on her clit, giving it a sweet kiss before slowly sliding his tongue into her folds. He got a good taste and then dove back in. He was hungry for her juices and he loved how wet she already was for him. The movements of his silver tongue made her go wild.
âIâm about to cum, Loki!â She moans. He stops and she looks up at him smiling at her, knowing it was torture that he didnât let her finish.
âNot yet. Youâre mine. You cum when I want you to.â
It slightly frustrated y/n but what else would you expect from the God Of Mischief.
He stood up and pulls his underwear down. Completely exposed, y/n gets a chill down her spine and she mentally prepares to take in every inch of him. Loki leans over y/n, his face close to hers, and places his tip right on her entrance. He begins to tease her by rubbing his tip around in her wetness and she starts to squirm.
âPlease, Loki, please! I canât take it any longer. I want you. I want all of you!â Y/n whines.
There it was again. That devious look in his eyes. And without words, he slowly starts to slide himself inside her. She gasps and her eyes widen as she takes in the god. Tears start to form in her eyes after realizing that he was much bigger than expected.
Loki whispers into y/nâs ear, âThatâs the face I wanted to see.â He puts a hand over her mouth and said âshhâ for he knew he was about to make her want to scream. He started to thrust slowing into her, making her moan, until he suddenly started going faster. He got rough with her. Tears fall from her eyes as she tries to scream into his hand covering her mouth. The pain was a good pain.
âPlease let me cum!â She begged. He then started to pound into her wet hole harder and faster.
âLOKI!!!!â Y/n screamed her princeâs name as she reached her climax. He quickly pulled out and came into a bin next to his bed.
He conjured up a towel with his magic and began to clean the mess of y/nâs bodily fluids off of him and her. As he wiped her off with the towel, she thought of how much of a gentlemen Loki was for cleaning her up for her instead of doing it herself.
After he tossed the towel aside, he crawled in bed next to y/n. He pulled the blanket over them both and wrapped his arms around her. He held her and they both relaxed. She melted into her husbands arms. He kisses her on the forehead, then leans his cheek on the top of her head. He was so happy he could finally hold her. She soon falls asleep to the sound of his heart beat.
âI love you, y/n. I will love you forever.â

For the character ask game - What are headcanon(s) you have for Loki? (Comics or MCU, whichever you feel like)
Comics:
I have this weird HC that the yellow tassel Loki had was Sif's hair that he kept as some weird fucked up trophy to taunt her. It was definitely not his hair as his hair was black and often short. It was later drawn as yellow/golden strings rather than hair, so I probably made this shit up, but IDK I kinda like it? Seems like the sort of petty fucked up thing he'd do.
Loki is a Jotun half-breed. He just looks too different from the rest. The Doylist explanation is that they started making Jotuns bluer with time because they had regular skin tones and basically looked like overgrown Vulcans back in the day.
Loki's mouth being sewn shut is cannon in every comic run not just the ones where it's shown. I just like the angst of that myth so much.
My perception of Loki and Asgard is heavily influenced by Loki (2004) aka "Blood Brothers" where Loki is clearly a hostage/ward and everyone knows he is an adopted Jotun. So, I interpret a lot of the earlier "good Asgard, perfect Odin, perfect Thor, kind and virtuous W4" as being told by an unreliable narrator. I've mentioned before how annoyed I get by the most random and far-fetched suspicions of Loki being "proven true" by the narrative in the majority of Thor comics. Have you considered Loki's not the only one who can lie? Also, a lot of Loki's evil in earlier comics is so over-the-top and the narrative pretends there's no good reason for it. There's no way he wasn't ostracized, abused, or bullied.
Asgard has very good PR and basically chose an adopted Jotun hostage/ward to blame for everything wrong in the realm. They also like to pretend they've always been on the right side of issues and history. IDK I just get frustrated by the narrative quite often. They'll have the good guys manhandling Loki (kid!Loki too) for no good reason but "it's fine because he's evil/his past life was evil."
I ship Loki with every villain they've teamed up with.
MCU:
Frigga had lost her second child (Balder) around the time Loki was brought into Asgard. She resented Loki for a few years because "that thing got to live and Balder did not." Eventually she grew very attached to Loki, and due to guilt, she'd try to overcompensate for her rejection (of course not where it mattered because in my HCs she continued to lie even when it harmed Loki). Loki's not aware of this past having very severe attachment disorders and abandonment issues. Loki's first memories are about being rejected.
Loki had difficulty with any sort of Fire Magic due to being a Jotun but he kept practicing despite how much it harmed him because it was the only time Odin looked at him the way he did Thor. Frigga tried to stop him from doing this but of course, kept the truth from him. Loki interpreted this as her thinking him weak and doubting his magical capabilities. It put a strain in their relationship until Loki managed to conjure Fire with only minor burns. Frigga didn't make things any better, but continued to overcompensate in other ways because guilt.
Loki caused the Gatekeeper (let's call him Vili) that preceded Heimdall to lose his position after a noodle incident. Vili outed Loki to Odin which got him on Loki's shit list. It also caused Loki to learn to conceal them from the All-Sight.
Loki got into a lot of dangerous situations by concealing them-self from the All-Sight.
Either Odin permanently altered Loki's physical form and even the Casket of Ancient Winters can't undo all of it, or Loki is only partially Jotun. Again, he looks too different even when holding the Casket.
Sif and Loki were very close until Loki sabotaged their relationship by cutting her hair as a prank.

Cross my Heart, Hope you Die || Heimdall X Reader
Chapter 9 - Call to wind
I woke up heavily confused.
The first thing that confused me was why I was in Baldur's chambers when I vividly remember passing out in the middle of a pavement. The only answer was that I was brought here. But by who? Did Forseti return and find me like that? Or did someone else, possibly Atreus? The thought of it being anyone other than Forseti or Atreus made a shiver run down my spine. I was so vulnerable. I could have been killed or worse.
The second thing that confused me was the fact that whoever it was who had found me had clearly healed my wound in their own special way. They had burned, what seemed like a split in my head from the impact, and my hair with it. I didn't care too much about my looks, but for the lack of humiliation, couldn't they have found a healer to do it for them? Or waited till I was up so I could do it myself.
The third thing wasn't exactly confusing, just annoying and overwhelming, the moment I got up and started getting ready I had noticed that the chambers had been cleaned from my consistent breakdowns over the past two weeks and then a servant came with a tray of food and water. "Eat and drink, please. You look like a ghost and the All-father would not like you to die yet." There was malice in her voice and I questioned whether it was poisoned. I had forgotten about the fact I hadn't eaten or drank. Normally I have to eat at least within a week before hunger kicks in, one of the negatives of being a demi-god, I had to remember. For the likes of Kratos and my mother they could last months, but I couldn't. They had served me what looked like stale bread and cheese, and a red apple which had mold at the bottom. I almost wanted to ask if they were serious but at this point within my fast I had to eat something. If it was poisoned, then I guess I'll have to force the poisons name out of them and get an antidote by any means necessary. Screw Odin's 'no harming Asgardian's' rule. I ate the food and drank, what turned out to be the lukewarm water. She left immediately. I looked around the space and sighed, I really don't want people in here while I'm sleeping, if they had just given me one day I would have had it cleaned. I suppose I may just have to stop sleeping and passing out so I don't get killed in my most vulnerable state.
I also don't want to be killed while I'm awake. That would just be humiliating. If I went down, I'd go down fighting. I would defend myself, Atreus, anyone who was innocent, till my final breath while I'm here and to do that, to be efficient in my skills. I didn't need to just train physically, I had to train my magic too.
In those years with my mother after Baldur's death she had me train both vigorously and then when my magic amounted to nothing, she screamed at me and told me to only focus on my skills with weapons as that was the only thing I was good at. So I did, but I wasn't good enough to actually beat Heimdall in single combat, and if I couldn't beat him, I couldn't defend Atreus from just a simple threat such as Heimdall who just bullied him, he's not Odin or Thor, who I know could do so much worse to him if they wanted to. I know I may not be able to face either of them and eliminate them but I could try and maybe give Atreus time to run. I also know that the only advantage Heimdall has on me was his strength and his ability to violate my mind and give me a massive headache.
~
To begin training I thought it best to improve on what I am weakest at, magic. So I cleaned myself, changed into decent clothes , grabbed my weapons and went to the library. I also thought it best to cover the bald spot by braiding my hair around it into a crown around my head, it wasn't just beneficial to me for vanity, it also kept my hair out of my eyes for later. I went searching for certain books and found all that was necessary; I looked for one on Asgardian history to find out more about my opponents, I doubt there is something about weaknesses but I could at least try, magic as a whole to learn more about the different kinds and what I can use, poisons and antidotes, just in case, creatures of the nine realms for I am somewhat aware some creatures carry ingredients to poisons and antidotes, I also needed to know , and Asgardian fighting techniques.
I found all of them. Although it was a lot more than just 5 books, I was interested in all areas. For example with magic I needed to know what I was capable of so I picked up four books for just magic. I ended up with fourteen and I didn't have anything to carry them in so I made use of my hands and jaw. I proceeded to leave after checking them with Bragi, the God of Literature and librarian of Asgard. He was skeptical but allowed it as he was 'moved by attitude to learning'. Well, if he decides to harm Atreus my attitude to learning will bite him in the ass. I was at the threshold of the library when Heimdall faced me, pushing himself off the wall and took a step toward me. "Now, what do you think you're doing?"
"Taking books to read until Atre - Loki, comes back from his lessons." I lied.
He picks the book on top of the pile, one of the volumes on poison, specifically on their styles. "Interesting, one could think, this would be useful for using against us."
"Then one would be a moron. I was ill for two weeks and I'm in enemy territory. One might think she was poisoned." I bit back, he scoffed and I knew he caught the lie, of course he did.
"Liar. Besides, if we wanted you dead, we wouldn't have to do it discreetly. You could be put to the sword or burned at the stake, like the witch you are." I recognised the emphasis, and I saw the jab at Freyr. It boiled my blood. "Do you want to know what I think?"
"No, but you're going to say it anyway."
"I think you're here to dismantle, to cause chaos. You are here to protect the brat, that is certain, despite the terrible job you're doing." I winced at the jab, "but I also think your traitor of a mother wants my home reduced to rubble, and you're here to help. That I will not allow!" And with that, he kicked my shin, and I plus the books toppled onto the floor. Despite the pain and burn that rippled throughout my body, I laughed. At this point, I only had one card up my sleeve, his ego.
"You really think I'd try something like that with you watching. I'm the Goddess of Logic, for Ymir' sake. I know not to do anything this explicit, even though causing chaos for you sounds like a lot of fun." I smirked at him and his eyes flashed, "I got them because I was genuinely curious to see if I was poisoned, I also wanted to try my best to help with the patrols I'm forced on with you. If I have a knowledge of the creatures outside the walls, I can maybe help keep new Midgard protected. They are my people as well." He looked like he had his entire perception changed and then reverted immediately.
"Maybe you do have a brain, or perhaps not. These won't be of much use to you though, the Einherjar protect them from the creatures outside, I only get involved in inter- fighting that causes death." He rolled his eyes like the entire thing was pointless and meaningless to him. It wasn't surprising. He wasn't like my mother or Freyr, who actually cared about mortals. He was one who believed the gods were above all. A true racist bigot. "I'll allow whatever this really is, for now. See how useful you may become." The ire in his words made me uncomfortable. He turned on his heel before turning his head to his shoulder, I saw the glint of purple of his eyes, a shard of the real gemstone, "See you at dusk."
~
After picking up all of the books and walking to willow tree, my entire body ached. I never wanted to do this again, but I could think of no alternative. Well, there is no alternative apart from magic to keep them preserved. I may as well start practising then.
I searched into the books for anything pertaining to preservation. The sun was at its peak when I succeeded. I found it in a volume that looked like it was hanging on to the threads of it's spine, and definitely needed rebinding, but hopefully, if I succeed, it may last a little longer. The spell would only preserve something for a day, so I suppose I had to come here before midday for as long as I train. I thought of what I did when I used magic to heal, I felt the world around me, the earth under my knees, the wind that blew around me, the ripples that went through the pond, and finally the magic that resided within me. The moment I felt it, I knew something was different. Normally, there was just a spark, something that was small, barely there. Now, it felt like that spark had grown into a flame of what size I didn't know. It felt so far away. I tried pulling it to me, and some of it yielded to me. The rest, I could not reach. Hopefully, this was enough, I placed my hands on one of the books, "vard-veita." I chanted, letting my eyes close only slightly, I felt the flow of magic run through me like water in a stream, wind through a tree, and opened my eyes. Because I can't recognise magic, I have no idea if it actually worked, so I only have one way of finding it out. Dip it in the pond and see if it worked.
I picked up the book and opened it, so it was just the cover page being dipped, I don't want to ruin the entire thing. I may hate the Aesir and everything they stand for, but I'm not monstrous enough to destroy a perfectly good book, I also need the volume for practising magic while I'm here, there's that too. I dipped the cover into the pond, wincing as it entered. Please work, I begged to the magic that ran through every living thing. I pulled the book out of the water and felt the leather cover.
It was dry.
~
I immediately started screaming and dancing in pure ecstasy. I'd done something with my power, I wish someone, specifically my mother, could see this. I hope she would be proud of me. I then became conscious of how I'd look to others, despite how remote and away from the main city this was, and composed myself. Although I did start laughing at the thought of someone seeing the sight of me, the Goddess of Logic, daughter of the first Valkyrie queen, Freya, first person to knock the God of Foresight on his ass in over a century (probably), dancing and screaming like a child because she finally thinks she becomes useful. Ymir, I hope no one saw this.
I knelt back on the floor, preserved the rest, and returned to the book feeling drained. It didn't matter though, I had to continue. For Atreus, for my mother's approval once I returned. I thought of things my mother had done and remembered how once when fighting against me, after I had started to push her back, she had conjured a beam of energy so bright it had blinded me and she gained the advantage. I looked for that.
It wasn't in the first volume that contained the preservation spell, and after hours of searching for it, I found it in the third book. It didn't contain an incantation of any kind. It said that you had to feel for your power and imagine the beam in your hand. I did just that, I felt for my power and imagined the beam of energy. I started to feel my hands warm up, and I thought I'd be able to do it, that I'd have not just one, but two successes. I failed. All that happened was sparks started to appear, and then they fizzled out. The feeling of disappointment was familiar to me, and so was the feeling of exhaustion. I think it is probably best if I stopped, maybe looked into the history of Asgard and looked at fighting techniques to oppose the Aesir.
~
I did just that and by dusk I'd found out some useful information; I read that all sons of Odin (apart from Tyr as he was imprisoned) took part in pacifying the dwarven rebellion in Svartalfheim and that Heimdall was the one to brand a dwarf named, Durlin (one of the rebellion's leaders. This made me hate him more, knowing that he probably loved doing something so cruel. I didn't know much about the rebellion but what I did know is that the dwarves, a giant named Laufey, everyone who fought, were incredibly brave for fighting for their freedom and that Odin ensured that the spark of rebellion would always be quenched. It disgusted me how Heimdall was praised for such an act of cruelty in the text, so much so that I gagged. He also helped assist Tyr with the imprisonment of the hound of hell. The surprise that went through me was interesting. I couldn't believe he'd assist with such an honourable task. I suppose Garm threatened all realms, including Asgard, so the narcissistic piece of shit had no choice but to help defend his home.
I had exhausted myself by remembering Heimdall's fighting style from the initial fight, the day Atreus and I arrived here. I lost because I got cocky, because he had invoked a furious inferno that ran throughout my entire being and I wanted to see him on the floor, wipe off his perfect exterior and show to everyone that I could take him down and show that he was weak, and I was good enough to defeat this God who immediately turned up his nose at Atreus and I because of our blood, the realm we were born in, because he was eternally loyal to a monster who had ordered the death of my father, the imprisonment and violation of my mother, and the deaths of millions. Heimdall was a walking shit stain, and I wanted him to suffer, most of all, for the threat he posed to Atreus and for his violation of my mind. I worked tirelessly at figuring out how to fight him best, I figured that having the range to give him a good shot to the heart would be preferable, but I trained with my sword anyways, just in case.
When the sun started to set and the moon started to rise, I was dripping with sweat, and threads of my hair had started falling out of the braid. In my reflection, I saw a mess. I suppose that was a good thing. It showed I'd done something. I groaned when I realised I had to walk to the wall and, in the end, would be by the side of the worst person to ever walk the nine realms. That may be an over exaggeration since his father existed, but he's definitely in my top five of the worst people to ever exist.
The walk to the wall was refreshing. The sweat started to disappear off my body from the wind that blew through me and I welcomed the breeze, I was walking through fields to get there so I focused on the birds chirping, the feel of the blades of grass that tickled my ankles. It grounded me, which was useful for the conflict and rage I would feel inside me the moment I saw the protector of Asgard.
The silence I felt on the platform was different to the silence of my walk. That was serene, this was filled with so much resentment and the tension was so thick that I would have less trouble gutting a hare for dinner than cutting through the tension that was between us. I welcomed getting of the platform and having more than a five meter distance from him, I moved away as fast as I could and went to my perch on the wall. I actually had an objective for today that wasn't ignore Heimdall, it was protect the humans from the creatures because the Einherjar are pathetic. I equipped my bow and focused my vision onto the illustrious Plains of Ida. I found my mark of a nightmare that was getting far too close for my liking, I knocked an arrow onto the string of my bow, drew it back to my cheek, and loosed it. It didn't surprise me that it hit the nightmare, killing it, but I was happy either way. I'd done something, something good. I've felt so useless while being here as Atreus was clearly being split from me it was nice to do something which might help, which did make me wonder, why was Odin keeping me here? It clearly wasn't out of any benevolence, he's a monster after all, it wasn't to use me, I wasn't as malleable as Atreus could be; I was my mother's daughter after all, there had to be something more here. He couldn't kill me as that would weaken his relationship with Atreus, he could send me home, which was a perfectly decent option. I was a potential distraction for Atreus, I was loyal to my mother. The fact that he hasn't sent me home, gives me reason to think the likelihood of me actually returning is slim. So why accept me here in the first place? The fact that I didn't know made my head go fuzzy, there was a logical explanation for this and yet I couldn't see it, which meant I needed more facts.
The first few stars had entered the sky, and I'd eliminated countless creatures when my arrows started getting low, I didn't mind much. I knew I couldn't collect them because the likelihood of me being allowed out, then allowed back in, was low but thankfully, there were trees which I could collect sticks from, I had spare feathers in a bag on my belt, and I'd find the steel somewhere for arrowheads. If someone would actually sell to me, that would be awesome. "You do know we have Einherjar down there to protect them?" Heimdall whispered into my ear.
I froze, but eventually, I refocused my vision from the plains of grass down below to the plains of lavender that were his eyes, "I've seen the Einherjar fight. a kitten could do better."
Heimdall laughed at that. It took me a second to register, that he laughed. It was short, sweet, not sinister, not the ice cold laugh that sent blades of ice through my entire body. This was genuine, beautiful. I suppose it fit with the exterior of him, even if the inside was rotten and disgusting.
"Okay, waste your arrows. It doesn't affect that pathetic b-" he didn't get to finish his sentence because I wrapped my bow back around my body and punched him as hard as I can, that I may have broken one or more of my fingers. It was a shame I could only heal cuts. This would be a nuisance. The look on his face was worth it, though. His eyes flashed, and he gritted his golden teeth that I gritted my own at the sound of metal on metal. "What the hel was that for?"
"You insulted my people." And with that, the mocking laughter came, and I felt the ice. It was funny how this man could make me boil with rage and freeze with fear at the same time. Why did he have such an effect? he seemed to relax a little, then he delivered a swift pommel strike to my abdomen, making me keel over. He proceeded by kicking me to the floor and placing his foot on my chest. "I've killed your people, thousands of them, actually."
"And Ragnarok will be your retribution." I spit back, trying to get myself back on my feet, but am just met by more pressure on my chest.
"Not if the All-Father or I have anything to say about it." he snaps, and I let out a breathless laugh.
"It is prophecy, you can't ignore fate, you imbecile."
He placed more pressure and I let out a hoarse groan, "Prophecies don't always come true, although, I suppose you wouldn't know enough about them, considering you were isolated with no one but your traitorous, bitch of a mother."
Before he insulted my mother, I felt defeated. He was right, I didn't know enough. Then, I didn't care. He would not sully her name. I used every morsel of my strength to get him off me, which made him lose his balance, and it was my turn to bring him to the floor. I ended up with my knee on his chest and my face hovering over his. "Do not insult her."
"Hypocrite, you insult my father, my King, you threaten my people, and yet you call us the aggressors? Now, where is the logic in that?" He smirked, and I punched it off his face, drilling my fist into his nose. Blood printed itself onto my fist.
"Your father had my father killed, he destroyed my mother, he started the war . You fucking deserve it." Tears had started leaking from my eyes and had landed on his own cheeks, I saw the hypocrisy in the insulting parents part, I immediately realised that he was just a son, a follower of his king, I hated to say it, but in that way I was the same. The rest was bullshit, they were the aggressors, they started the war and watched as it raged on from the comfort of Gladsheim. They live in peace while the remaining Vanir live in poverty, they suffered the most. The Aesir deserve Ragnarok.
"One, your mother was a traitor, and you are my enemy. Therefore, I don't really care. You deserve the suffering." I gritted my teeth, "Two, which war? My father started a lot of wars and has never lost one." The boast wasn't missed. How was he proud of having a tyrannical conqueror as a father?
"She refused to give Baldur's curse to Odin! How is that traitorous? I'd call it a fucking blessing."
"Either way, still an enemy."
"Then give her exile, kill her, not curses that destroyed her." Maybe if my mother had died, it would be some solace, and I wouldn't have had to have been born. I was a mistake, I had to be, I was weak, naive, I couldn't get most things right. In every way, I was a failure, and after the incident with the raiders, the person who looked like my mother had made sure to remind me of it. I rejoiced when she came back to me, brought back by Atreus and the desire for true vengeance.
*~*~*
For a singular moment, I felt sympathetic, I saw from her expression what her mind must always be screaming. She was entirely alone for her entire life. Her father killed. Her mother was destroyed and distant, with no allies and no friends. From what I knew, it was just a small sphere of nature for just over a century. Then I remembered I didn't care about her at all, Frigg deserved everything she got, so did the Vanir people, they or Freyr seemed charming at first, Freyr reminded me of a nicer version of me, maybe what I could've been if I didn't have this curse or gift, to know what people thought at all times made me see the evil of everyone, how treacherous they could be, but it was also a gift, I could protect my home, erase the threats before they lie there way out of it to someone ignorant. Freyr seemed good at first. He genuinely came out of diplomacy to help us so the war wouldn't start and peace could be achieved. I was wrong. Apparently, it was just self-preservation. His magic didn't do anything, and the famines we had just got worse. He helped almost cripple us so the Vanir could actually stand a chance. It was pathetic really, considering the moment the marriage ended, and Frigg was gone, they had nothing, and they lost easily. Thor and I didn't even break a sweat. It was a shame I was sent back to allow Thor to finish the job, seeing the fear on their faces as we swept through the ranks, picking them off one by one, was one that made me feel so happy. It was one of the few things Thor and I actually agreed on. War was one of the best things we'd experienced. The only war I truly feared was Ragnarok's. It is the end of all that would mean this place, the All-Father, it would all be gone. Everything good with this world would be erased.
"Do you know how many of my people you're uncle left to starve during our famine? Do you know how many of our soldiers died due to your ever so precious mother in the initial attack?" She looked so dumbfounded it was almost adorable, "No? Okay, I'll tell you," I paused, "thousands died to the starvation, mortals like the ones you claim to care for. Then, it was countless in the war."
"It was the same on both sides."
"Don't care. Frigg, your entire family and country deserved everything they got." She stared into my eyes for a moment. They were filled with emerald fire. It was exhilarating if I was being honest. Fun. Her pupils started moving in thought and I wished I could no what's going on in that mind, so much so that I tried to enter again only to be met with silence, a wall that I couldn't pierce through. It was a direct contrast to what it was like as a child. I had had no control whatsoever, I used to start crying whenever I was in crowded spaces as they'd all be blending together. They were all so trivial as well, what they'd do, how they were going to do it, sometimes it would be their own conflicts, and then some would be monstrous. I saw them for who they all were, and it hurt me, not just physically but emotionally. So much so that I hated them, so much so that whenever someone good would come along, I'd be waiting for when they'd think something horrible or just do it. Most of the time, I wasn't disappointed. She started gritting her teeth as I tried to push past. She didn't break, though. I hated to admit it, but she was strong, physically and mentally. Her knee on my chest hurt, and so did her punches and then her will. It was made of something stronger than steel.
"And so will yours." And with that, she stood up and got off me. I was quite grateful for it. The air going back through my chest was refreshing.
The remainder of the night was silence, I guarded with the normal, extreme, vigilance, and I made sure to keep an eye on the Vanir. None of the creatures started wandering near the Midgardian settlement, so she was left without anything to do. Even without it, she seemed in her element up here more than on the ground. It wasn't lost on me that that would be because of her uncontrollable, unbeknownst to her, power to control the wind. It was disgusting to see her look like she belonged in a place she didn't. She doesn't belong anywhere in Asgard. Despite how much I hated her, I was intrigued by her. She was the only one who could block me out. She was intelligent and resourceful when she had the information necessary, powerful. I wanted to see her at her most powerful though, when I found her last night, it was a struggle to get past the wind she was unleashing, and I wanted to know what she was capable of. If I did know, I could use it to strategise a plan with the All-Father to take her down and find out what could be used to fully destroy her. Although, I do believe it's somewhere in her mind, she hid something deep down and from what I've heard from the brat's discussions with my good-for-nothing niece he didn't know much of her apart from what we know. She has had a life which, even when she left the stave, we didn't know, and me breaking through her shield would be the key.
When we returned to the Great Lodge I was prepared to go brief the All-Father as I do normally, but I remained for a moment to see (Y/n) pet Gulltoppr and thank him for holding the both of us, which the noble beast responded with a purr. I rolled my eyes, "Go to Baldur's chambers." I made sure not to say they were her's, they weren't they were my brother's, whether he was dead or not, it didn't matter. It was an insult to him that she was even allowed to sleep in them and wear his wife's clothing. I don't even know how Nanna hasn't crossed paths with her yet. Oh wait, yes, I do. Ever since Baldur's death, she's refused to leave her home. I know Forseti checks on her from time to time, I don't care enough about her to check. It was disappointing, though, despite her being a Goddess of Peace, she was still fierce, now that was gone. "Jealous?"
I scoffed, "Please, I trained him, tamed him. The day I become jealous of any connection you two have, Ragnarok will have come." She puts her hands up in surrender and said goodbye to my mount, he responded by licking her. She laughed and smiled, and I had to appreciate the purity of the moment. I didn't care if it was her, I didn't get them much, so I appreciated the small scenario. I went to leave, and before I entered the lodge, she called for me, and I turned around, "What?"
"I would like to apologise." I couldn't help but scoff again. Why was I allowing this folly? I had to debrief the All-Father about her, about tonight, just everything I found out that was known. I went to leave, but I was met with the bringing down of her mental shield, and I was halted in my tracks. This most definitely was a development. I couldn't see much. The rest was buried to the back of her mind, and It would take time to search, time in which she could easily put up her shield and block me out again. I could see her sincerity though, that I was right about her hypocrisies and that she was grateful for me teaching her that war was not black and white, it was complicated, both sides doing it for the good of the other and it was just the innate horribleness of people with a conscience. I didn't particularly know how to approach this. All I knew was that there was a positive effect to earlier as I'd clearly helped her. It was strange, I'd not known her long, and I hated her more than literally anyone else, and yet this made me feel something. I could see that she wanted to be better, to not be such a failure, and I a sort of kinship with her. She may not be good, or sincere, no one but the All-Father was, and yet she wanted to be, truly wanted to be. In that moment, I knew what that feeling was, one that I couldn't explain. It was some small sliver of hope that people could be better. I reminded myself of her allegiances and crushed that hope. She could not be truly good as she went against the All-Father, the only good person there was.
She brought the wall back up and I felt myself being pushed out, "We'll see." I muttered and I left to my father's office.
"Is that a bruise I see forming?" These were the first things I heard as I started my descent down the steps, "It's nothing." I had no idea why I decided not to tell him that she threw a hook to my jaw, chipping one of my teeth, and then punched me in the nose. It was probably still those weird little feelings she'd been able to coax out. I'd call this my forgiveness, then be done with them. "Sure." I reached the bottom, and I walked to him, "So, what have you found?"
"She let me in her head." His eye widened, and he gestured for me to explain, "We had an argument about the war, how she was a hypocrite in certain respects, and for once she listened. She allowed me into her head to see that she wanted to give a genuine apology."
"Did you see anything else?"
"No, the rest was buried so far deep it would've taken time to search through. Time I didn't have as she could shut me out in a second's notice."
He gave a slight nod, "This is good." I didn't tell him about the preposterous explanation of how she thought the war with her people wasn't straight forward, it was incredibly clear. The All-Father was right in what he did, conquering Vanaheim was deserved. After what Freyr did, the people that died, every death, every agony they ever experienced, was deserved. I may not have liked them, I may not have known them, but it is my duty, the reason for my entire being, to protect the land and the people in it. Only in death will I be separated from this. I failed them when I cleared Freyr. Watching him burn was one of the best moments of my life.
"I also watched her train today." I remembered watching from my place on the wall, when she did the preservation spell, her funny little movements afterwards, her failure at creating energy. I remembered watching her study me specifically, I made sure to look at the pages she was reading; I saw her negative expression at branding Durlin, I smiled at the memory of when I'd burned the dwarf and then how she'd looked shocked at when I helped with Garm. I didn't understand it, I'd made my stance on being the protector of the realm quite clear, I was doing my duty when I begged to be relieved of my duties so I could fight, it was the one thing I'd ever asked the All-Father for, he was skeptical as I'd just been bestowed Gjallarhorn but allowed me to help. Then there was her ruthless efficiency with a blade that I also noticed was to fight against me. Her movements were awe-inspiring. Every stroke, every parry, every block was precise, strong, and swift. I had to resist the urge to watch for longer as I had to keep to my duties, I also had wanted to try and copy her movements, fight back against what she had started to perfect. I had to keep to my duties, but I made a mental note to practice more, considering she was the first to hurt me in over a century. I repeated all the facts, not my opinions, to him, and then I gave my evaluation, "I believe she should be sent home or killed. She's powerful, and she doesn't even know it, we don't know what she'll be like if she starts realising how powerful she is."
"Did I ask for your opinion?" I was taken a back, I believed my reasoning was good. She was a threat to this realm. How could he keep her here, especially alive? My dream of her burning this realm to the ground replayed in my head, and I winced.
"No, All-Father."
He hummed, "Continue to keep an eye on her. I'm sending you both to Svartalfheim tomorrow. The dwarves aren't meeting the quotas I've set. Remind them of the war, do what you want with them, just make sure they start working how I want them to."
"Why not send Thor?" The question was insubordinate, I had realised immediately, but I was protector of the realm, not his executioner.
"Thor's sloppy. He goes for the kill and doesn't care about what he breaks. You, you tortured in the wars before, and you were beautiful at it. You made examples of them. I'd like you to start doing that again, with tensions rising." I couldn't help but smile, I had missed this, and I couldn't wait. There were two questions to be answered, though, "Why is she coming with me? And who will protect the wall while I'm gone?"
"For the first question, I'm not stupid, and I have eyes and ears everywhere. She hurt you. I promised punishment, and here it is. Remind her of how weak she truly is, make it impossible for her to defend them. You can threaten the kid if you'd like, even follow through if you want, I don't care as long as he's functioning enough to find the mask pieces." The ecstatic feeling running through me made me feel a little dizzy, I don't think things could get better than this. I'd actually been given the go-ahead to torment the boy, not like I'd been doing it already, but this would be special. I mean, I've been planning to kill him because of how much of a threat he is, but I also know I'd have trouble with it, considering he's under my father's protection. "For the second question, we're in a time of peace right now, so it's not entirely necessary for anyone to be. Just in case, I've placed two Einherjar soldiers for every metre of the wall across it." I've seen the Einherjar fight. A kitten could do a better job. I gave a slight smile at the memory. She was right, though. They were pathetic in comparison to literally anything else. They were only formidable in population. It worried me that it wouldn't be enough.
"Could you either double them or place the Valkyries up there, too?" I was concerned, especially after the arrival of those two half-breeds. The tensions were rising, this was shown by the fact that I had to go to Svartalfheim, that we had to send more soldiers to the other realms, especially Vanaheim.
"I'll see what I can do, is that all?"
"Yes All-Father, thank you."
"You're dismissed." I bowed as I normally did, perfect, respectful. It was what I was meant to be to the people who deserved it, and he was the only one.

idk if someone already gave you it but consider it done gimmie your heimdall maloki thoughts for the send a character thing
~Pen
HI PEN thank u 4 sending heimdall maloki ^_^
first impression: he was instantly my fave because in the anime his lines were just so so stereotypically edgy i could not take him seriously it was so funny to me. it was also a little jarring because he acts so so different from my impression of myth heimdallr
current impression: he's silly and he gets a lot of shit from the narrative which i don't really think he deserves considering everything that's happened to him. anime heimdall does find peace at least but he quite literally had to go to hel and back. manga heimdall im not sure exactly how he is at the very end of the series but he's way more fucked up and never really backs down on his ambitions. either way he gets fucked up real bad
fave moment: it's hard to discern a very favorite moment cause there's a lot i find silly or interesting. but one from anime and manga each are (major spoilers in small text)
-> (anime) rejecting lokis hand when the bridge breaks beneath him. it shows how he prefers lokis betrayal over odin's (odin is his father in the mythos so i'm gonna say it applies here too) and how it's less about him losing the eye and more about who did it. that factor changes in the manga because it's def more about who took away what his life was there but yeah. that whole scene honestly just makes me so sad because he goes on about how seeking revenge on loki is the only reason he exists and idk. love that guy.
-> him beating the shit out of loki to figure out if it's actually loki. i just think it's funny how he knows loki well from how he reacts to getting in a physical fight with him
story idea: idk tbh. never had any overarching plots for fics but id like to write something concerning him and narugami's (thor) relationship sometime from the manga since naru clearly still cares about his brother despite a lot of the things he's done. that scene where he calls heimdall "heim(u)" and loki questions naru about nicknaming the guy trying to kill him (as in loki) is funny to me lmao
unpopular opinion: heimdall was a little justified in his whole thing. like in context they are gods and loki basically ripped away and uprooted heimdalls whole life, even if he was simply following orders, so revenge in death makes sense for divine wrath. is his anger a little misdirected ? yeah but like can you really blame the guy he can't blame **** out of past emotional connection and trust. also he was just following orders too it's his job !!!!! the only one he has left since he got fired after loki ripped his eye out !!!!!
fave relationship: hard choice between freyr and loki. loki and heim's relationship is very complicated because loki obviously cares about heim and sees how his anger is eating away at him and heim you know. hates loki with all his being. i think that moment when heim gets possessed by baldr and is drifting in and out of being possessed going on about how he's supposed to be the one to kill loki while loki tells mayura that heimdall is a friend and that helping him is something that only he can do shows that well. freyr and heim is classic odd couple duo that's silly so that's why i love them but also because freyr really is heimdalls only friend that actively cares for him. he searches for him when he goes missing twice in the manga and also is the only one that mourns him. so i just think they're neat.
fave headcanon: heimdall got his talons from shapeshifting. i got it from a fic and it's neat to me so yeah ^_^ it also makes his relationship with loki angstier if you imagine that loki was his shapeshifting buddy. while i don't think they were really good friends or lovers as i've seen others suggest before loki betrayed him i do think their rivalry was much more friendly and out of respect for one another's talents before evolving into an arch-nemesis relationship.
#fish.answers#matantei loki#maloki#thanks for the ask pen ^_^ i am very very happy to have an excuse to organize all ky thoughts about him in one#he's just so silly

( ft. a cameo from lyla michaels, the director of ARGUS. )
Downtown Denver Colorado -Â Panzano restaurant. 8:45 pm.
âThank you,â Mary murmured as the waiter dropped off a plate on the side of the table - it was an appetizer she had selected while awaiting the arrival of the other party meant to be sitting across from her. Usually, she wouldnât have bothered meeting with anyone past âbusinessâ hours ( that included Steven Grant ). This individual had been rather . . . insistent which was more than accurate to use when describing her, Lyla Michaels was the wife of John Diggle - Oliver Queenâs bodyguard and additional team mate as well. She knew that because Laurel Lance was her best friend, and also part of team Arrow. Looking at the watch on her wrist, nails tapped the side of the little plate in front of her, she didnât have her phone with her - personal policy. If someone was going to go out of their way to be insistent about meeting for dinner to discuss ⊠metahuman business ⊠she was not going to be interrupted by unnecessary notifications on her phone. T h a t was highly inconsiderate, at least in her eyes it was - so her phone was locked up in the trunk of her jeep.
Just as the waiter reappeared to ask her if everything was all right because she hadnât touched the Spuma di Ricotta, a woman with short brown hair took the seat across from Mary finally. Mary looked over at the waiter and just quietly nodded before her dark eyes looked towards the other. âDoes the director of ARGUS not follow her own schedule or are you just in the business of annoying people by being late?â The waiter had walked off now, heâd return in a few more minutes ⊠or a little longer, depending on how this conversation went.
Lyla inhaled a deep breath and smiled tightly towards Mary, â As a director of a secret government agency - sometimes my time isnât my own even when I want it to be. As someone who works for herself, you know that sometimes things clash into each other time wise and thatâs not something you have ANY actual control over. â
Mary could only grimace at the accuracy and leaned back in her seat as a man in a black suit approached the table and placed a manilla envelope in front of her. One brow arched as she looked between the man, the envelope and then back to Lyla. âIâm not opening that in here,â She knew better - far too many eyes all around them. âMight be better if you order something to drink, maybe something to eat and⊠make this look as ânormalâ as possible.â Spotting the waiter who emerged from the kitchen, she signaled him over and pointed at Lyla.
Lyla had briefly looked at the menu and was quietly in agreement with what the other had said. â Iâll have the Sugo di Alce and Tentua Santâanna, please and thank you. â She handed the menu back to the waiter and watched him walk off. â Did you order anything other than the antipasti? â
Mary nodded her head, âI donât drink wine -- but I did in fact order the Pollo e Gnocchi, and just sticking with my water.â Wine tasted only like the tannins, nothing else to her since she was first able to drink and that was why she preferred sour / tart beers because with regular beer she could taste the barley / hops more than anything. âSo, why exactly do you require âŠÂ my assistance?â
â Anything S-Squad related tends to leave a bad taste in Diggleâs mouth because of his personal history with Deadshot ⊠so itâs safer in this instance to outsource. Youâve got more than a good reputation amongst your own team - Barry, Kara, Oliver, and Laurel also speak highly of you. Pretty sure your father would even speak highly of you. â
Mary stopped while bringing the glass of water to her lip when Lyla brought up her adoptive father, Thor. âIf you could even get in contact with him, he would - he and Amelia arenât the greatest with mundane technology and I do NOT suggest approaching Norway unless you send an envoy first.â Sheâs mostly warning Lyla because of Fenrir, he was still guarding the cave while Heimdall was in recovery. Last thing they needed was an incident with A.R.G.U.S. âEven then ⊠I still wouldnât suggest it because it could turn out very bad.â At least until Heimdall was back on his feet and once more in control of the bifrost from new Asgard to old Asgard.
Lyla was taking mental notes and nodded her head, â Duly noted - steer clear of Norway unless we end up finding someone who can reach him without any issues. â Both women smiled at the waiter when he dropped off their food, along with Lylaâs drink and walked off. Mary had placed the manilla envelope inside the bag she had with her and kept it behind her the whole time for safety.
â Weâve had recent reports of sudden fires ⊠mostly home fires, disguised very cleverly as arson in certain parts of southern california into mexico. â She placed her fork and knife down, â And I know itâs not you doing it - nor your friend Beatriz which leaves one other individual that is supposed to be deadâŠâ
Mary blinked a few times, âOh thatâs got to be fun for you - but then again I imagine whomever it is is familiar with A.R.G.U.S. and the S-Squad. Which is why youâre asking me to go after whomever they are, sounds like fun.â
THREE WEEKS LATERÂ -Â Los Angeles, California.
According to the thick file that Lyla had handed over to her, Los Angeles was the home of the metahuman she was to retrieve. Sending another pyro to retrieve a pyro was a little amusing, at least to her because from the list of abilities she had seen in the file âŠÂ El Diablo could had mystical resurrection to his list. Heâs supposed to be dead and that means he was somehow not.
As far as sheâs aware ⊠resurrection is only achieved in a few ways. By phoenix blood - like herself, having a particle of an eldritch terror called The Return inside of them, or by other mystical means. Necromancy was another way, usually that was very dark magic - costing a part of the necromancerâs soul or something. Either way, maybe she should at least ask this El Diablo how he came back from the dead before deciding whether or not she was going to attempt to hand him over to Lyla. Stepping out of the rental car, sunglasses placed on top of her head as she walked away from the vehicle. âIf I were someone that could easily burn homes down without batting an eye but also had to hide ⊠where oh where would I hide?â That was a rhetorical question, Los Angeles had a vast homeless population and if he was clever as Lyla had alluded to .. he was hiding somewhere amongst the thousands of homeless.
â ⊠Possibly somewhere by the waterâŠâ She murmured to herself and headed back towards the rental car, bringing up the GPS locator as well as the last known address of that house fire. Trying to locate the nearest beach in order to locate her ⊠target? No that didnât even sound right to her. Inquiry? Yeah sure, her INQUIRY.

How would the gods (thor, poseidon and hercules) react to finding out that their opponent on the ragnarok is the human reincarnation of their past lover who died(somehow)
Thor, Poseidon and Heracles reactions to their opponent being the human reincarnation of their past lover.
1. I'm using Fem pronouns since it wasn't specified.
2. I saw someone post something similar to this but I am not trying to copy it in any way possible.
3. The reader is included
4. Some will be either long and short.
ThorâĄ-
Thor had originally thought he was hallucinating the second he saw his opponent.
After knowing he wasn't, he was more confused. Why did you look like her, his deceased love? More importantly, why was your aura the same as her?
His question was answered when you punched his stomach.
The spark in your eyes, you held the same ones. The god of thunder was sent back. But he didn't move.
He's fully convinced his love has reincarnated as you.
To everyone's surprise, he lowered his hammer.
He's never harmed his love this way when she was alive, why do it now?
He made Heimdall cancel the match and went after you. You turned around, seeing him looking down at you. He grabbed your hand and held it tight.
âąAll of the memories came flooding in. Your eyes were wide with shock, both your smaller hands now cupping his hand.
"Love?" You whispered. Thor simply nodded, a small smile on his face. You quickly hugged him, laughing and crying. Thor returned the embrace, kissing your forehead.
He lost you before, and he wasn't planning on letting it happen again any time soon.
Poseidonđ±-
He didn't see the point in fighting when he knew he'll win.
But that thought went away when you stepped in the arena, your face as calm as his own.
The king of the seas was shook. He knew he wasn't seeing things. You look exactly like his past lover, who had passed away thousands of years ago.
A part of him told him not to harm you, to not kill you.
And so he lowered his trident and left the arena, not caring about what the other deities had to say.
After that, you searched for the god and found him at the beach. You reluctantly approached him, lowering yourself down on your knees. You should've feared the god, but you couldn't.
You rested your hand on top of his, the physical contact both bringing back memories and got Poseidon's attention. Tears came pouring as you held his hand.
"I'm sorry for leaving you so soon." You rested your head on his shoulder. Poseidon didn't push you away and instead pulled you closer. He kept silent, the sounds of waves crashing down calming him down.
"Don't be." That was all that left his lips. For the first time after his past lover's death, he felt... Happy. Happy to be reunited with her once again, just in another way.
{Art is not mine! But it looks so good!}
HeraclesđŠ-
He felt his heart drop the moment you stepped in.
Everything about you reminded him of his love, from your beauty to your aura.
During the fight, everyone can see how he was hesitating, not hitting you at all.
Only a few can notice the sad look on his face.
You were going in for the final strike, but was brought in an embrace that oddly felt familiar to you.
"It's been too long..." The demigod's arms tighten around your small form. This sparked a memory from long ago, where Heracles always gave you hugs when he came back from his adventures. You began to sob in his chest, hugging him back.
"I've missed you, My love." You choked out, looking into the demigod's eyes. Heracles surrendered, and carried you away in his arms.
_________
I don't think I did them justice đ

Chapter 31: Scary Big Brother
After a couple months the trail went cold in DC. Your suspicions had been correct, Bucky had visited the Smithsonian. You werenât able to track him past that though. One thing you knew was that he wasnât with Hydra anymore.
So, you and Steve had moved back to New York into the newly named Avengers Tower. Pretty much everyone was back. Bruce had been living there since New York, Nat returned after making new covers and Clint would be around for missions but not live there full time. The only person missing was Thor but considering it wasnât easy getting in contact with him it wasnât surprising.
You were currently in the communal kitchen making a cup of coffee when Tony walked in.
âHey Y/N, how quickly do you think you could get in contact with your brotherâ he asks with an air of nervousness.
You pause putting the coffee pot back down turning round to face him. Raising a brow at him.
âWhy?â You ask slowly not liking where this could be going.
âWell we finally got through the list of tech Fury gave us and when we went through it to see what tech was missingâ Tony explains trailing off at the end.
âTony whatâs missing?â You demand.
âOkay please donât get mad and blast me with ice or anything, and remember I was on your side with sending it back to Asgardâ Tony says holding his hands up.
âFuck!â You complain when you realise exactly what was missing.
âWhatâs going on?â Steve asks as he and Nat walks in.
âYou want to tell them Tonyâ you state crossing your arms glaring over at him.
âOne of the pieces of tech thatâs missing from SHIELD is Lokiâs sceptreâ Tony says wincing slightly.
Steve groans loudly dropping his head shaking it.
âI thought it was taken back to Asgardâ Nat asks.
âNo, Thor only took the cube, we agreed to let the sceptre stay here as a compromiseâ you explain with a sigh.
âSo Hydra have a weapon that can be used to control peopleâs mindsâ Steve states.
âFun timesâ Nat deadpans.
âSo can you get in contact with your brother?â Tony asks turning back to you.
âI can try, I think he visits Jane often so I can ask her to pass on the messageâ you agree.
âOn a scale of 1 to 10 how pissed do you think heâll be about the sceptre?â Tony asks you.
âNot as pissed as heâll be about Steve dating his little sisterâ Nat snorts earning a glare from Steve.
âWait he doesnât know?â Tony exclaims.
âNo, at least I donât think so Heimdall might have told himâ you say shrugging your shoulders.
Honestly you werenât bothered whether your brother liked who you were dating or not. You were extremely happy with Steve and if he had a problem with that then he had to just get over it.
âHeimdall?â Nat asks confused tilting her head slightly.
âGuardian of the Bifrost, he watches over the 9 realmsâ you explain.
âWait is he always watching? Like when weâre in the shower and stuff?â Tony asks.
âKinkyâ Nat snorts making you shoot her a look.
âI think he has the decency to look away during those momentsâ you tell them.
âSo, you nervous to see Thor againâ Nat asks Steve who had remained silent during this conversation.
âUm I donât think soâ Steve says clearing his throat.
âWell Iâd hate to be you palâ Tony says patting Steve on the shoulder as he walked out.
âYouâll be fine.... hopefully... it was nice knowing youâ Nat smirks before she too heads out.
âDonât listen to them, theyâre just trying to wind you upâ you tell him moving to stand in front of him running your hands up and down his arms.
âI know, itâs fineâ Steve says moving his arms so they wrapped around your waist.
âI better go call Jane, but Iâll see you later at trainingâ you smile leaning up to kiss him.
âOkay, Iâll see you laterâ Steve smiles.
For the rest of the day Steve struggled to focus. He hadnât thought about what Thorâs reaction would be to him dating you. He had assumed it would be okay, he and Thor got along well but maybe it was different when youâre fighting aliens and youâre only friends with his sister.
He tried not to take what Nat and Tony said to heart, he knew they were just winding him up. But he had seen Thor angry, heâd been on the receiving end of his hammer the first time they met. He was lucky he had his shield on him at the time, maybe he should keep his shield on him just in case.
He was lying in bed trying to read but wasnât able to focus properly. Glad for the welcome distraction when you walked in.
âYou know you arenât helping yourself with this old man persona by getting into bed so earlyâ you say when you walked in spotting him in bed.
âIts nearly 10â he says furrowing his brows glancing at the time.
âIs it? Oh didnât realise I was on the phone that longâ you chuckle walking into the closet.
âHow is Jane?â Steve asks putting his book away.
âGood, sheâs doing lots of super important work now following the convergenceâ you say walking back out pair of shorts and vest in hand.
âWhat about Thor?â Steve asks clearing his throat.
He notices you glance up at him eyebrow raised suspiciously before answering.
âHe wasnât there, but she said sheâd pass on the message when he next visits and let us know when heâs on his wayâ you explain.
âSo how long until he arrives?â Steve asks wondering how long until his potential death.
âDonât know exactly, week or so?â You say shrugging your shoulders.
âOh okay coolâ Steve says nodding his head.
He watched as you head into the bathroom to go get ready for bed. Sighing to himself deeply he runs his hand over his face and into his hair dropping it down heavily. He wondered what Buck would be saying if he could see him right now. Heâd probably be laughing just like Nat and Tony. Telling him to âman up punkâ, god he could be a jerk sometimes.
âHey whatâs on your mind?â You say poking him pulling him from his thoughts.
He hadnât even realised you had returned and climbed into bed beside him. He looks over at you and realises it was probably easier to just come clean no matter how embarrassing it was.
âIâm worried about how Thorâs gonna reactâ he sighs looking over at you.
Thankfully you donât laugh and just give him a sympathetic smile, reaching out to take his hand in yours.
âItâll be fine, I promiseâ you tell him.
âI know but the first time we met he tried to kill me with his hammerâ he says making you laugh slightly.
âIâm sure he wasnât actively trying to kill you, he was mad at Loki and Tonyâ you tell him with a smile.
âBut what if heâs mad with me for dating you?â Steve points out.
âWell then heâs gonna have to go through me, he may have lightning but I have all the elements. Iâll protect you I promiseâ you chuckle making him laugh.
âThank you, I think Iâll still bring my shield thoughâ he laughs.
âWhatever makes you feel safe, but I promise you, you wonât need it Thor is a big softy. Loki was the murderous oneâ you point out smiling over at him.
Steve smiles wrapping his arm around you and pull you into his embrace kissing the top of your head. He was so unbelievably lucky to have you, you were incredible in every sense of the world.
A week later Steve was training in the tower gym when he heard the door open behind him and a large booming voice.
âCaptain! How good to see you, how have you been?â Thor smiles striding over to him.
âGood, how have you beenâ Steve says getting over his initial shock and shaking Thorâs hand.
âGreat, many great adventures across the nine realmsâ Thor chuckles patting Steve hard on the back.
âNice, have you seen Y/N yet?â Steve asks wondering whether he was just in a good mood because he didnât know about your relationship yet.
âNo only just arrived, how is my sister?â Thor asks shaking his head.
âGood, sheâs goodâ Steve says deciding to wait until you turned up to break the news.
âSpeak of the devilâ Thor says nodding over to the door where you had just appeared looking down at your phone.
âHey sweetheart, just a heads-up Thor should be here at some point today, so if you want to grab your shield, do so nowâ you joke walking in not looking up from your phone.
Steve feels Thor straighten next to him, the air suddenly feeling metallic. Steve didnât dare look over at Thor instead he just cleared his throat loudly making you look up. Your eyes widening when you realise Thor was there.
âOh shit hey Thor youâre here alreadyâ you say shoving your phone into your pocket.
âSister, why did you refer to Captain as sweetheart?â Thor questions his brows furrowed.
âBrother, donât be mad because I am very happy but me and Steve are in a relationshipâ you tell him moving to stand beside Steve wrapping your arm around his waist.
Thor turns to look at the pair of you, his brows furrowed. He looks Steve up and down crossing his arms over his chest. Steve stood tall trying to make himself look good enough for you but not confrontational, the last thing he wanted was a fight.
âAnd youâre happy sister?â Thor asks glancing down at you.
âExtremely happy brotherâ you tell your brother looking up at him a clear warning in your eyes.
âThen Iâm happyâ Thor says smiling again.
Steve let out a deep sigh of relief not realising he was holding his breath until that moment.
âThank you Thor, that means a lotâ Steve smiles holding out his hand.
âMy pleasure but if you hurt her, I will kill youâ Thor says shaking Steveâs hand his face turning deadly serious.
âThor!â You scold.
âIâm only jokingâ Thor laughs loudly dropping Steveâs hand.
You chuckle shaking your head stepping towards Thor and hugging him tightly.
âIâve missed you brother, how is everything? Howâs Jane and Erik?â You ask him.
âWonderful, their research is world leadingâ Thor smiles.
Steve watched the two of you catch up. He couldnât help but smile as he watched you. Over your time on earth your speech had become a lot more modern, but as soon as you were around Thor you reverted back. Steve didnât mind though, he thought it was endearing.
âWhat are you smiling at?â You ask glancing over your shoulder at him.
âNothing just enjoying this reunionâ he smiles as you step back towards him wrapping your arms around his waist.
He smiles back down at you wrapping his arm around you pulling you closer into his side.
âI have to say, you two make a fine coupleâ Thor smiles nodding down at you.
âWell I wasnât expecting such a happy reunion, I thought thereâd be a Steve shaped hole in the wall by nowâ Tony says as walks into the gym.
âStark! How are you?â Thor smiles walking over and shaking Tonyâs hand.
âGood point break, thank you for coming back, hopefully we can find the sceptre quick and you can be on your way back to whatever it is you doâ Tony says gesturing up to the ceiling.
âYes, a shame it has fallen into the wrong hands, but from what I hear it was an unfortunate consequence to a necessary actionâ Thor sighs crossing his arms over his chest.
âWeâre trying to track it now, but whoever has it is keeping it well hiddenâ you sigh.
âWell it wonât for long, power like that is too attractive not to useâ Thor says.

Throg, or The Time Loki Turned Thor Into A Frog by PhantomEngineer : The time when they were children when Loki turned Thor into a frog.
I'd follow you through hel (and fight off demons as well) by ThatOneAnnoyingFox : After a bad meeting with Odin, Thor watches the void. Itâs dishonourable, but if he did it with no-one to see, who cares where heâd go?
Ichor in Violet by tirsynni : When Thor learns that Loki can travel to other realms without Heimdall seeing, of course he convinces Loki to take them both to Jotunheim to hunt Frost Giants. There an accident unravels centuries of lies and threatens to unravel Loki, too.
Soft Touch by calicojackofficial : Tony catches Thor and Loki napping together on a public couch.
We Were Eight at the Time... by Writinthestars : Heâd never attacked Thor before. Their quarrels were always preluded by some sort of argument so there was warning, and they both knew they wouldnât hurt each other too terribly.
This is the first time I used a real weapon against him. Thereâs no returning from that. Itâs too late. I couldâve killed Thor - heâll never forgive me.
Lokiâs eyes filled with tears. This wasnât what he wanted.
Castles in the Air by cosmic_medusa : Loki's first act as King is to collect his banished brother to aid his regency, however brief. Thor discovers that the political landscape is far from what it seemed, and that the lies of Odin have resulted in the threat of both his sons' safety and sanity.
Once I had a brother by Alwida : Loki's plans to drop Odin in a home for the elderly unfortunately get interrupted by Thor. During the ensuing fight, a magical artifact gets broken that wipes out Thor's memory of the past 300 years.Â
Friend or Foe by Iamnotreal : Loki doesn't get up after being plummeted by Hulk. It changes things.
Take This Kiss Upon The Brow by xWitchAlchemistx : Toddler Loki has discovered a family of frogs living near the palace, and is eager for his big brother Thor to take him to visit them. Instead of keeping any of the frogs, Thor helps Loki to paint a frog instead. Centuries later, several months before Thor's would-be coronation, Loki finds the painting Thor made for him.
never doubt; by unintentionallyangsty : Months into their voyage on the Statesman, Thor is forced to come to the realization that he has not verbally conveyed his love for his brother as often or as recently as he had previously believed.Â
Just Close Your Eyes by ADreamer67 : Ragnarok has come to pass, the Asgardians have reached a deal with the leaders of Midgard for territory of their own, Loki is allowed to stay (provided he doesnât leave said territory), and Thor is settled on the throne. So all in all, things are going well, if you ignore the recent massacre and planetary annihilation.
Well, except for the fact that Loki is working himself into the ground. And Thor is having none of it.
Cue a not entirely legal brotherly field trip where Thor will make Loki relax, or die trying. Responsibilities? Pssh, who cares about those? (Hint - Loki. Very much so)
i could use a bad disguise; by unintentionallyangsty : In the wake of the events of Ragnarok, Loki is plagued by nightmares, unable to determine a place for himself within the development of New Asgard and Thor's settling into the role of king.
Meanwhile, Thor wants nothing more than for his brother to stay, but is unsure of how to extend this sentiment.
Cold Nostalgia by ADreamer67 : It's the last Winter Solstice before Thor is crowned. Thor wants to do something special. Inasmuch as a hunt in the middle of winter is special.
Loki just doesn't want to freeze to death.
#i am not the best for recs i have hardly 200 bookmarks and they're not sorted for fluff D:#but here's some anyway#fic recs

Well. Mhmmm, I was thinking of being the other King of Asgard and maybe also a God? (maybe the God of Knolagde). And maybe the Avengers need help so Thor asks his Husbandđ and that of course, means that the Avengers will meet him and maybe kinda fangirl? Oooh I'm so stupid, I forgot to ask, do we need to describe our personality? Cause if so I'm rather shy.
Also feel free to message if you need any clarifications.
Thanks!
Thor x Male!Reader
Plot: Requested
Warnings: Hm... bad English? A bit angst, but really not much
.............................................................................................................................
You were having trouble in your mind. You sat outside in the beautiful gardens of Asgard's palace, admiring the beauty of the nature around you. But it wasn't able to clear your mind of the concerned thoughts you were thinking about for the past days now.
Thor had promised to inform you about everything that was happening in his life on Midgard but he had neither sent a message nor had he visited Asgard by himself. You were seriously concerned about your husband.
You got up from the chair you were sitting on before and started walking around the gardens. No other god or goddess disturbed you as they could clearly see that you were trying to focus on your problems.
At least that was something you could do really well, after all you were the god of knowledge and wisdom. Different scenarios played in your imagination and you didn't notice the person standing next to you until they laid a hand on your shoulder.
Your head went straight up and in the matter of just a few seconds, you had pulled out your dagger and were putting it against the intruders throat.
"Whoa, keep calm, (Y/N)!", Thor laughed with raised hands. You sank your weapon and looked at him with an accusing look in the eyes. "Why didn't you tell me about your days? I was concerned.", you asked with crossed arms.
Thor smiled but looked a bit defeated at the same time "I am sorry, my love, but I wasn't able to send you a message. The mission we're working on right now is quite hard.", he stepped closer to you and took your hands in his own, big and warm ones. His blue eyes had a pleading look in them "I should have told you about it earlier, I'm sorry." A small smile spread on his lips as well as on your own.
"I'm still mad.", you informed him "But not as mad as before." Of course your husband could've handle the situation otherwise but everyone made mistakes sometimes although Thor didn't want to hear that. You decided that you had forgiven him, but wouldn't tell him now.
"So, why are you here?", you asked "Obviously something's up." The god of thunder smiled, you knew that he loved it, when you acted smart "I need your help with that mission I was talking about before." You nodded slightly and and started slowly walking with his hand in yours. "Tell me about it.", you demanded, so he told you:
"Hydra is active again, it's a terror-group, which managed to hide from us for quite some time now, but we managed to get a few hints from some... shady people. If we could crack the code they gave us, we could handle them! This coded message can tell us their location! But sadly... we couldn't crack it until now."
"That means you want me to help you with that message?", you understood. Thor nodded "You're the god of knowledge and wisdom!", he took both of your hands in his and stood before you, excited and with pleading eyes "Please! Please, (Y/N), help me!" You smirked slightly and whispered: "Of course."
Thor smiled brightly, cupped your cheeks and kissed you pasionately on the lips. Oh boy, how you had missed that! His warm lips on yours, his body pressed against your own and rising together in that bubble of love for each other. His tongue found its way into your mouth and played eagerly with your own. You slung your arms around his neck to stabilize yourself.
You looked deeply into each others eyes after this kiss. "Let's do that code!", you whispered against his now swollen lips, which showed you a big smile now.
.............................................................................................................................
Over all this excitement you had forgotten that you were rather shy towards new people, so you grabbed the hand of your husband while Heimdall was bringing you to earth. Thor's thumb brushed slightly over the back of your hand, calming you a little bit.
Suddenly you stood on the top of the Avengers tower, Thor had already told you about. The outlook you had over New York was stunning and something you had never seen before. "It's beautiful, isn't it?", Thor asked next to you and you were only able to nod. He closed your mouth with putting a finger under your chin, smirking when you blushed slightly.
"Oh, Thor, you're here again!", a man with sunglasses and an expensive looking suit walked over to you. It had to be Tony Stark, who your husband had also talked about. "And you must be his charming, smart husband he always talks about!", he gifted you a smile and put out his hand for you to shake it.
"That's right, Tony Stark.", you shook his hand a bit nervously, but he didn't seem to notice. "I guess Thor already told you about our problem?"
"I wouldn't be here, if he had not.", you answered and Tony laughed, already guiding you inside. You weren't pleased by seeing even more people in the conference-room, where you had just walked in. The looks were on you, the other Avengers seemed interested in your presence and someone was walking towards you.
"Hello, my name is Steve Rogers.", he shook your hand "Thank you for the cooperation.", he acted a bit nervous himself, but you just smiled and introduced yourself too.
"Where's this code I'm here for?", you asked. A red-haired woman in a black suit came to you and gave you a piece of old-looking paper. "We tried to figure it out with countless programs, but nothing worked.", she had a slight russian accent, and looked you up and down.
You took the paper out of her hand and looked briefly at it "No wonder, I don't think any computer or even program was invented in the time this language was spoken, Ms Romanoff."
"Wait a moment, it's a language?", a man, Clint Barton, asked with crossed arms. "How could you figure that out so fast?", another one interfered, who had to be Sam Wilson. "The structure and signs in the text are similar to old-greek although it's way older. It might be an old japanese text, as there are still some people who can translate it. Give me an hour and you'll have a translation."
The group was starring at you with surprised looks, which made you a bit uncomfortable, so you looked over to your husband, searching for help. Thor came right next to you and requested the others to get out that you could concentrate. "Can we keep him?", Bucky mouthed to Thor, who rolled his eyes smilingly, but you felt very flattered as Thor had told you that the 'man with a metal arm' wasn't trusting people fastly.
"They already like you.", Thor commented, when everyone had gotten out of the room. "Looks like so... it's calming that I'm not the only one who is nervous." Your husband laughed a little and caressed your cheek. "I wish you good luck with the code.", you smirked "I don't need luck." Thor smirked back "Have fun." He kissed you softly and left the room too.
You weren't mad anymore. How could you? You loved him.
I found time a bit earlier! :D Hope you enjoy it, @marilynmonroefanfics

âLady Y/N?â
The voice was muffled through the door and the one in question rolled from her side and onto her stomach as she laid in her bed. A low groan emitted from the creature whose limbs were tangled in the blanket and sheets.
. . .
âLady Y/N?â
A short knock-knock accompanied the repeating words, and Y/N had a feeling of that the lovely woman who sheâd love to talk to at any other time wouldnât stop until she replied.
She pulled herself into a sitting position, smoothed over her unruly hair, and finally pulled the covers up so her pajamas wouldnât be seen and called out, âCome in!â
The woman opened the door and sent her a sheepish smile. âThe All-Father has requested your present, maâam,â she informed her.
Y/N furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. âDo you know the reason as to why?â She quizzed.
The woman spared a quick, darting glance at Y/Nâs window. âWell, the All-Father has requested all of the palaceâs royals and higher-ups to gather in the courtyard. He is gathering local citizens for a, ah, play, and more would like, in this words, his âmost esteemed confidants to enjoy,â,â she answered, subtly bouncing her weight from one foot to the other.
Y/N thought for a moment. This was the first time she was hearing that the King was holding a play â not to mention, the fact that the last play (if you could even call it that, because by Heimdallâs recounting it was horrific) was held before any of the children of Odin were born.
Just thinking about that caused a twinge to hit her stomach and for it to twist up. Loki. Odinâs youngest child and the one that had most recently left her, as he sacrificed herself to save his vaillant brother, Prince Thor. It had been weeks, maybe even a month, since Y/N had heard the news and had been resorted to a lonely, saddened version of herself. Loki was her best friend, the person she trusted more than anything andâno, no, who was she kidding? Heâs more than that, and he deserves to be remembered as more than that by her.
Heâs also the one that she loves, and has loved for at least the past year when she realized it.
Nonetheless, she had taken many steps to get through the grief of Lokiâs dead â as had his father â and she wasnât going to let all her hard work crumble down on one, singular thought.
âVery well, then. Please inform the All-Father that I will be there shortly, thank you,â she said.
The woman nodded and bowed her head before exiting.
Once the door had been fully shut and she could hear footsteps no more, Y/N crossed over to her window and drew back the curtains, not having missed the look at said window.
The sunlight poured into her room but the stage was indeed sent. Rows of fine chairs sat with rows of fine people in them. In front, Odin stood with a red curtain drawn closed behind him. His arms were gesturing wildly and he had a big grin on his face as he gave his speech.
Despite the curiosity that itched into Y/Nâs face, she pushed it aside. She had never seen the King conduct himself in such ways, but alas, everyone grieved differently. So, she closed the curtains and got dressed for the day ahead.
â â â â â â â â â â â â â
The moment Y/N stepped outside, she couldâve sworn that there was already long beads of sweat trailing down her skin. She let out a huff but journeyed on towards the courtyard, as this formal royal wear was necessary and she had no intention of pissing off Sir Snotty-Dickhead â as she called him (he had some fancy and long name she couldnât remember, in her defense) â who was Odinâs right hand man.
By the time she got there, Odin was still rambling on with his speech, but his sudden notice of Y/N saved the guests from boredom.
âAha, the guest of honor! Lady Y/N, herself,â Odin announced, bringing his hands together in a clap and gesturing for her to come toward him.
She betrayed herself and her cheeks involuntarily reddened as all eyes laid on her. She approached Odin and curtsied out of respect, but her mind was full of wonderings of why she, of all, would be singled out.
âIâm sure you all know who Lady Y/N is, yes?â He began, briefly pausing before continuing. âIf you sadly do not, let me tell you. Lady Y/N had been a friend of the royal family, specifically my child, Lokiâsââ the name caused her to suck in a sharp breath, ââand she was granted the title of Lady to uphold the image of the palace and to complete very important Asgardian duties.â
Once he stopped talking and the crowd clapped politely, Y/N took the opportunity she was presented before itâs door could close and quickly went and sat in her seat, the only seat not occupied yet, in the front row.
Odin then began speaking against whilst he walked to the side, âSpeaking of my dear child Loki, this play that has been put together is one designed to honor him and his heroic sacrifice. Without further ado . . . â He let his words trail off, and the red curtain pulled open.
Y/Nâs face contorted into surprise at the words, not expecting this to take place. Again, she reminded herself, everyone grieved differently, so she decided to give it a chance. However, as the play went on, she was quick to realize that honoring Loki wasnât the intention here. The horrid acting could be excused but Odin himself allowing this mockery of how Loki died? Of how he sacrificed himself? Well, with every second that passed, her face heated more and more â and not due to the sweat â and she grit her teeth, just barely refraining from yelling.
The worst part for her came though when the actor who played Loki did a dramatic reenactment of his sacrificed and the actor who played Thor did the worst fake crying ever. Y/N turned to the others, expecting them to be just as enraged as she was, but was floored to find that noâthey were laughing. And not just that, but Odin was having himself a chuckle as well!
Her fingers tightly gripped the edges of her chair and she forced herself to look straight ahead, just about able to hold in her tears until the play was over and the actors bowed.
â â â â â â â â â â â â â
Afterwards, while everyone was standing and giving Odin rounds and rounds of praises, Y/N stayed rooted in her seat. She couldnât just let this go by as if it were nothing, but she was struggling to compose herself to confront him.
After a couple minutes of going back-and-forth, she decided, screw composure. She didnât have to be composed. She was allowed to be angry.
So, she stood up and marched straight for him.
âAll-Father,â Y/N said through grit teeth, forcing herself to curtesy, âI request your company in private, if I may.â
It took Odin a moment to tear himself away from accepting his latest comment, but the way he quickly glanced over at Y/N, she knew that he had not noticed â or perhaps he did not care â the state she was in.
âMy apologies, Lady Y/N, but should I depart now, I fear I shall upset my comrades!â Odin said, ending his comment in a boastful joy, which resulted in laughter and cheers.
He didnât wait for her response before engaging in another conversation, and Y/Nâs lips remained tightly shut until she decided to just go forth and let her stuffed-up emotions out.
âFine. I will say it in front of everyone, then!â She said, firmly and loudly, gaining everyoneâs attention. âThat was a pathetic excuse to remember Loki . . . It was an insult! You mocked him, your own child! How could you evenâ I . . . I just donât understand . . . He sacrificed himself for your son and for Asgard and this is how you repay him? God. I expected much, much more from you for him because I . . . Letâs just say that we both love Loki, in our own ways, and I-I . . . I am very disappointed.â
Wanting to flee from the tears that were now streaming down her face and from the silence that was pounding, she turned around and she walked away, the realization that she had just confessed her love in front of everyone hitting her.
âLady Y/N!â
Odinâs words stopped her in her tracks, but she did not turn around. Just stood. Waited.
âHe told Thor, before he passed, that he, uh . . . He loved you, too.â
Y/N stared straight ahead, her hand jutting out to grab the pillar next to her to steady herself.
Loki loved her?
She didnât stop the tears from coming this time. She let them, and the sobs, overwhelm her.
â â â â â â â â â â â â â
âLady Y/N?â
The voice and the knock were much more stiff than they were this morning.
âCome in.â
Her response was devoid of emotion, much more curt than it was this morning.
The same woman turned the doorâs knob and opened it, sending Y/N, who was curled up on her bed, head nestled into her knees, a wary look. âThe All-Father has requested your presence at his quarters,â she said.
Y/N let out a small huff, in no mood to talk to the King after what had happened. She forced her head up and gazed boredom at the woman. âIs it an emergency?â She deadpanned.
The woman looked around the room and by her lack of response, Y/N knew that either she didnât know or didnât want to say.
She sighed. âI will be there shortly,â she said.
The woman nodded and wordlessly left.
After she did, Y/N stood up and went in front of her mirror, taking in her appearance. Her once brushed hair was now frizzy and in knots and her eyes were puffy and red. Angrily, she practically tore the hairbrush through her hair and dabbed at her eyes with makeup until the red could be seen no more. She had no intention of letting him see her this way.
â â â â â â â â â â â â â
Screw formalities, Y/N thought, as she walked straight into Odinâs quarters which composed of a small living room, a bedroom down the hall, an office, and a bathroom. She didnât bother to curtsy or announce her presence.
When he finally and gradually turned around from whatever he was doing, a slight look of shock crossed his features, before he replaced it with a warm smile. âY/N!â He said, but quickly corrected himself, âLady Y/N.â
Y/N frowned and crossed her arms. âI hope that you have called me here to apologize,â she said, an icy edge to her voice.
Odin nonetheless looked at her kindly. âIn a way, yes,â he vaguely said, before a magical transformation underwent before her.
His wrinkles disappeared, his beard disappeared, his grey hair turned jet black, and his clothes transformed into his usual wear.
No longer was the All-Father standing in front of her, but her best friend. The one she loved.
Taken by utter shock, Y/N instinctively stumbled back, her jaw dropping and her eyes widening. âWhat the hell is this?â She gasped out, not wanting to believe it at first. It was a cruel trick â it must be! There was no way.
âItâs me,â the mischievous deity said, a rare softness to his voice and in his eyes. He took a step forward, but then stopped himself. âI never died, I only impersonated my father.â
Y/N stared at him, angry tears coming to her eyes once more. âHow?â She forced out, thinking that maybe she was dreaming. âWhy?â
Loki looked around, slightly dumbfounded, as if he hadnât expected anyone to question him. âI wanted the throne,â he answered, as if it were obvious and a perfectly acceptable reason.
Y/N stared at him as if he had grown two heads. To her, he might as well have.
âOh, really? So you take over your father, trick everyone - me, your brother - into believing that youâre dead, you banish Sif . . . All because you wanted the goddamn throne?â She cried.
The cluelessness left his eyes and replaced itself with guilt, regret pooling inside him. He looked down, shoulders falling with a sigh.
âIâve felt guilty tricking you ever since it had all went down. I wanted to tell you but, honestly, a part of me didnât think youâd be that upset over my death. But you were really, so upset and I . . . I was lost. I didnât know what to do. All I wanted to do was hug you and tell you that it was fine, that I was here, but I thought Iâd screw up your emotions and hurt you even more,â he admitted.
Y/N just looked at him, her frown growing deeper. âThatâs an awful excuse,â she hissed out, words laced with venom.
Loki immediately snapped his head up to look at her and his gaze held desperateness. âItâs not an excuse,â he said quickly. âIt shouldnât be. Iâm . . . Iâm so sorry. The last thing I ever wanted to was to trick you, and . . . I did. But today was the final straw. I couldnât continue like that.â
Y/N took a step forward, having an inner battle in herself on whether or not to forgive him. âYou lied to me,â she reiterated bluntly.
Loki nodded guiltily. âI did,â he agreed in a small voice.
She took a pause, taking in a deep breath. âYou told me you loved me,â she added.
There was a brief moment of silence before Loki said, in the same small way but a little more firm now, âI do.â
Y/N kept walking, not even fully sure or convinced of what she was doing, but knowing that she needed to do it, until she was standing just inches away from him. They looked at each other for a couple moments, neither saying anything, until Y/N wrapped her arms around Loki. He returned the embrace.
âNever do that to me again!â She yelled through the tears that were now coming. God, was she tired of crying. Especially today.
Loki hugged her tighter, his own tears falling. âIâm so sorry,â he whispered, and repeated that over, and over, and over again. âIâm an idiot.â
Y/N leaned back and cupped his face with her hands. The love she had for him overwhelmed her pain, and more than anything she needed him now. Besides, she could see his guilt. She could see the truth shining in his eyes. He wouldnât do anything like this again, because he loved her. And she loved him.
âAt least youâre self-aware,â she whispered through a sniff, taking a page out of his book with her joking remark. Before he could quip back (and she was sure heâd have an excellent one), she leaned forward and captured his lips in his a kiss. Loki smiled against her lips and wrapped his arms around her waist.

I hate how Endgame treats Thor. Him gaining weight, that's not the problem. That can happen to people who've gone through extreme bouts of depression. It's the content fat jokes and unsympathetic framing to make him look pathetic. Oh, but look he's still worthy so that makes it okay.
No one outside Rocket and Bruce have a significant conversation with Thor. They barely talk to him outside making jokes. Like, that's their friend and teammates. Would it have killed them to have some empathy.
Ugh I hate it too.
I think it's out of character for pretty much everyone involved. I don't think Valkyrie would ignore the hell out of him when he was drinking his life away because she knows exactly what that is and she had spent enough time with him and Loki to know how important his brother was to him (and Heimdall!).
It makes no sense for Rhodey who has always been a compassionate and understanding character who had to put up with so much crap from Stark. He would have never made those jokes to Thor when knows just how bad he's had it.
It makes no sense for Steve to look at him with contempt and not take one goddamn second to just check on him. And yes, I get that Steve had lost way too much as well but precisely because of that! This kid is compassion on legs. He took the time to speak to Natasha and try to help her, are you seriously telling me he would be rolling his eyes at Thor? Absolutely fucking not.
The only one I think acted in-character was Rocket. We saw in GoTG that pep talks and compassion are really not his thing (while he's right in what he says to Drax, the way he says it is way too cruel), and he lost every single member in his team so it makes sense for him to be mad. But if the directors were going to show that scene and the jokes and his teammates not giving a damn about him, they should have given us something else because Thor did NOT deserve any of that.
You know what breaks my heart? That what has Thor really learnt throughout that whole thing? That he's alone. Utterly, completely alone. That in the past he's tried to be there for everyone and while yes, his behaviour with Loki could have been better, but Thor put up with a lot as well and he was always there... but the moment he falters who is there for him? No wonder he leaves with the Guardians.
That's one of the things I hate about EG. In Avengers the team was still getting to know each other, in AoU there was a sense of found family among them, they got closer, they felt more like friends than coworkers. But come EG all that is gone and they only feel like a bunch of people who would rather be anywhere else than together, who are only preoccupied with fixing the snap then leaving each other to live their lives. All that just to give us one of the worst cases of amatonormativity known in fiction.

A/N: This is a rather boring chapter, but weâre far from done!
âShe already left several moons ago. It was her own wish, we did not force her.â
âWhere to?âÂ
âMidgard.â
Loki was long back on Asgardian territory, yet his mind couldnât find peace. Well, how could he, now knowing what Laufey told him?
His world had already crumbled to dust when he left you behind - but if Laufey spoke the truth, his whole existence had been built on lies from the very start.
Not knowing where to search for answers, the prince sneaked into Odinâs forbidden chambers, walking in the shadows protecting him in the midst of night.
There it was: The Cascet of Ancient Winters - the very relic that doomed the fate of your newborn, revealing itâs shameful blood to all of Asgard.
It just urged him to try and see for himself, even if the truth would shatter his heart.
âSTOP!â
Loki wouldnât even flinch at the Allfatherâs words, already tightly holding the cascet in both hands.
âAm I cursed?â
The God of Mischief wouldnât even dare to turn around and look at the person he always ever thought to be his father - for as soon as he laid fingers on the cascet, he began turning into that same shade of blue your son did.
Panic began to rise in the young god, fearing to be killed by the people he loved so dearly shall they lay eyes upon what he truly was. His chest began to tighten, fastened breath turning into a cold mist.
âNoâ was Odinâs firm but unsatisfying answer, to which Loki only responded by putting down the cascet.
âWhat am I?â
âYouâre my son.â His words came from the heart, not even faltering as Loki turned around to present his Jotun form to the Allfather.
âWhat more than that?!â he almost growled in between gritted teeth, appearance slowly returning to his usual self.
At that deepest, darkest day in his life yet, Loki would be too blinded by betrayal and rage to see his fatherâs true love towards his adoptive son.
âThe cascet wasnât the only thing you took back from Jotunheim that day, was it?â The prince took firm steps towards the man that he had known all his life, but had become a complete stranger towards him through that sole moment.
Again, only a âno.â
Lokiâs mind was racing, thinking about what else may have been hidden from himself - and what kind of consequences that revelation had for everything he had done up until now.
âIn the aftermath of the battle, I went to the temple -- and I found a babyâ the Allfather continued, âSmall, for a giantâs offspring. Abandoned, suffering, left to die...â
â...Laufeysonâ Loki completed Odinâs sentence. So every word the King of the Jotunns had said was indeed a fact.
âW-W-why?!â he almost whined, voice weak and defeated. âYou were knee deep in Jotun blood, why would you take me?â
âYou were an innocent child-â
âNo.â The God of Lies himself had become so sick of being fed those, starting to snap. âYou took me for a purpose. What was it???âÂ
For what felt like an eternity, there was only silence.
The image of that small, blue child in his arms had been painfully burned into his heart back then. But now that he knew the story behind all of this, it held a completely different meaning.
Just like he had been abandoned back on that frozen rock, he had abandoned his own child, as well as the love of his life.
Outcast, abused, left to die...and now, god knows what had happened to you...
That secret had destroyed more than just his own life. It had ruined the only honest happiness he was ever given - you, and his son.
âTELL ME!â
He just needed to know: The reason behind all the pain and suffering he had to endure - and caused to others as well.
âI thought we could unite our kingdoms one day, bring about an alliance, bring about permanent peace...through you.â
That was just too much for Loki to bear. âWhat?â he reacted with a barely-there voice, every word of his father shooting daggers through his heart.
âBut those plans no longer matter.â No matter what Odin might want to explain, Loki wasnât able to listen to any more, jumping into his own conclusions.
âSo I am no more than another stolen relic, locked up inside of here until you might have use for me?!â he croaked, afraid of the answer.
âDo not twist my words.â
âYou could told me what I was from the beginning!â he now yelled, furious at how virtuous Odin would still defend his own action. âWhy didnât you?â
âYouâre my sonâ he repeated once again. âI only wanted to protect you from the truth.â
âWhy, âcause I-I-I-Iâm the monster people tell their children about at night?!â Loki clenched his fists, fingernails drawing blood to his palm.
âAt least when my son was born, you shouldâve dropped the charade!â Pure agony was dripping from every syllable, and for a mere second, his eyes were glistering bright red once again. âYouâve forsaken two innocent lives - the most important beings in my pathetic existence - and now youâve burdened me with their suffering as well!â
That sure was a miracle - how a person so broken from the beginning wouldnât collapse under pressure that huge.
âIt all makes sense now, why you favoured Thor, all those years! Because no matter how much you claim to love me, you could never have a Frost Giant sitting on the throne of Asgard!â
But who cares about the throne, honestly? Not him. Not anymore. Ever since he knew you.
It all dawned to him now: What he could have, if only he had put his trust in you like so many times before.
All his life, he only ever remembers a shadow. At first, he thought it to be the shadow of his brother, or never being enough for his own father. Maybe the other Asgardians looking down on him, making him feel like he doesnât belong.
Yet in the end, that very shadow was inside of his own mind.
But you?
You had loved Loki with all of your heart, banishing the darkness from his mind through your bright affection.
It didnât matter to you what anyone thought of him - or even what he thought himself to be.
Because you saw him for what he really was, and he found peace with that.
And he was certain that it wouldnât matter to you whether he called himself Odinson or Laufeyson - as had you loved his child dearly, ever since he took his first breath.
He could never make up for that greatest of his sins, Loki knew that much.
Or...?
âWhere are you going, my son?â
Reluctantly, Loki made his way past the man he now only considered a stranger. Still, when Odin tried to reach out to him, Loki immediately ducked away, startled and afraid for his true nature to hurt anyone.
More than ever before, the God of Mischief despised himself to the core of his being. He was lost, confused, shocked - and still, determined.
âCreating a Kingdom for my family.â
___
[Earth, 2 months later]
On times like these, you thought your mind was betraying you.
Especially when you catched yourself reminiscing sweet, innocent moments - far back in the past, before everything you ever held dearly got destroyed.
You still felt his touch, feather-light on your skin, as well as his scent haunting your memories. And sometimes you couldnât help but wonder how life would have been, well...if things were different.
Frantically shaking your head, you clasped the book closed and threw it into a corner of the small one-room-flat SHIELD had provided for you.
Your magical pockets were always almost empty, except for a few necessities - and that book. It held the first flower Loki ever gifted you, and you had dried it in between those pages so it would never lose itâs beauty.
But now, remembering meant pain - because Loki Laufeyson would never come back.
For he is dead.
Fell of the Bifrost, as confirmed by Heimdall, who secretly kept in touch with you all this time. So you knew it all: Of his grief and treason, which slowly led him into madness.Â
And what did you do in the meantime?! Nothing at all!
You shouldâve tried everything, anything to get back and help him go through that time of need, hel!
âEndure it, Y/N...you need to stay strong...for Liam.â After so many times of telling those words to yourself, you doubted them to have any effect on your broken heart at all.
Yet it would never fail to keep you going. For that wonderful child was proof of your love, and now your last memory of him.
Rocking the small Jotun to sleep, tears found their way to your eyes like so many times before, dropping to the babyâs face unnoticed.
So you tried to sing your pain away as you cooed that little wonder to sleep.

The Asgardian dungeons were a place that was hardly ever spoken about. People knew that it was there, containing one prison cell next to the other, but why talk about negative matters like imprisonment, right, wrong or godforbid the individuals that were rotting away down there when you could just dull your senses with the finest Asgardian wine, right?
As the sarcastic smile slowly faded from your face you tossed the now empty glass out of your hand just to watch it shatter into a hundred shimmering shards all across the stone floor. The sun was setting and illuminated each and every splinter into a glittery carpet that could just as well have been made out of fallen stars. Vivid colours danced across the warm tiles of the balcony on which you had sought a place to simply hide away and get drunk once more.
To your growing displeasure you had to face the fact that even the strongest mead lost its effect on you over the weeks you had oh so willingly indulged in it. At first you had wanted to downright drown yourself and all your senses in the golden liquid, but as soon as you reached a pleasant stage of serenity you wanted to keep yourself right there. Just the right amount of forgetfulness to get you through the day without causing too much attention. Just enough to render you numb to the pain that was raging within, to the hurt that spread so broad it swallowed every ray of sunlight and to the agony that you found yourself in absolutely no place to do anything against these feelings. Your very own silver lining had been taken from you.
Sure, not only the people of Asgard had every reason to do so, but right now you were far too egoistic and the burning sensation of all-consuming rage had turned you oblivious to rational reasoning to settle with that. One of the many things Loki and you had in common. Strong emotions no one else seemed to understand quite the way you wanted them - needed - them to.
That was until the day you met each other far back in time as the both of you were carefree children that spent their days chasing birds, building little wooden boats or occasionally being an utter pain in the ass for Heimdal, bombarding him with questions about everything and anything to quench the constant thirst your curiosity left you with.
So many years back in time you crashed into one another as you were hiding from the very same someone: Thor. You never got a hang on why he was so popular amongst your peers and for reasons you just couldnât grasp he, this already tall and bright blond boy, took a liking in you, trying to befriend you over and over no matter how clearly you communicated that you carried not the smallest spark of interest in spending time with him.
You had hid in your favourite place, a small cave concealed amongst tall trees and shrubbery. As far as you were concerned it was your secret hideout shelter, your safe place and it wouldâve stayed that way if it wasnât for a gawky, black-haired boy who stumbled into it just minutes after you had made yourself comfortable.
âExcuse me?!â It had spilled from your lips faster than intended.
The boy turned towards you, his shimmering blue eyes wide open, almost as if caught right in the act.
âYeah, excuse you!â He spat back, his thick and untamed brows arching into a frown.
With a furious âShhh!â you shushed him, almost tempted to throw your book after the intruder.
âWhat are you doing in here?â He hissed, his voice lowered to an agitated whisper.
âI could ask you just the same. This is my hideout!â, you mumbled in return, narrowing your eyes at the boy âIâm hiding from Thor. Heâs annoying.â
To your surprise a wide grin formed on his face.
Back then you hadnât even had the tiniest inkling that youâd find yourself missing this shit-eating grin and now the memory of it knocked the air out of your lungs, rendering every part of you hollow.
âWhatâs so funny about that, huh?â
âJust glad to see that Iâm not the only one running from my brother. He can be quite a handful.â
âYour...brother? Youâre Loki!â You brabbled his name as if youâd only heard it in distant tales of Thorâs brother, but upon closer inspection you remembered that you had seen him on some occasions, but never really took notice.
âThe one and only.â He returned, his grin growing even more.
With your mouth dry and your body aching you rose yourself from the stone tiles and looked at the sea of glass shards in front of you. You could just walk right through it, letting them drill into your bare feet and for a moment you entertained that thought. Maybe the pain would make everything else fade for a little while, maybe the emotional dread would finally ooze out of dozens of small, but for sure agonizingly painful cuts. You felt tempted to do it all over again since this very urge wasnât exactly something new to you, but as your eyes were transfixed by the last bits of sunlight that got reflected you remembered yourself of the inevitable aftermath, the pressing guilt, the unhinged self-hatred and above all the shame that you couldnât keep it together once more. No, none of that would help anyone, not you, not the situation and not your terribly bottled up whirlwind of emotions.
In a rough motion you ripped your gaze from the broken glass and sighed. Whenever you didnât know how to carry on you turned to your best friend and although you knew that it would probably hurt as bad as nothing ever before had, you gave in to the urge to go down there and visit him.
A jolt of embarrassment crushed through you as the realisation dawned on you that you had been too busy drowning yourself in alcohol and self-pity than visiting the only one close to you, the only one you called friend. White hot tears were prickling in your eyes already, but you pushed them back with the little strength you had left, stumbled around the pool of shards and forced your unwilling body to move.
After the guards made sure that you carried no weaponry and let you pass, your shaking legs almost failed to guide you down the steps into the dungeons. The stairs seemed nearly endless and every next step felt heavier than the one before. By the time you arrived at the end, your stomach was twisting in every direction possible whilst your skin appeared to be entirely stripped from its warmth. Not even your thick woolen cloak was able to stop you from shivering. Nonetheless, you carried on, determined to confront what was eating at you for so long now.
In small steps you approached the cell and stopped right in front of its outlines. The unease within you grew as you looked at the man in front of you. If it was really him, he wouldâve noticed you long ago, but right now he didnât even bat an eye.
To both sides the cell blocks were aligned one after the other in a seemingly never ending row. Creatures of all shapes and sizes pacing through the small spaces, barely even taking notice of your presence. Occasionally youâd carefully throw a glance left and right to see if he was somewhere in there, but you had to trot down the path for at least a handful of minutes until every muscle within tensed and you freezed in your movement. There he sat. Your best friend. Loki.
Like nothing ever happened he lounged behind the almost invisible barrier and scrolled through a book. He appeared unbothered and indifferent up to a degreed that wasnât comprehensible to you.
In a stoic motion Loki kept on turning pages and you almost felt too afraid to utter the smallest of sounds.
âL-Loki?â His name left your lips as but a murmur.
Nothing happened. Not a single twitch or motion in his face indicated that he heard you.
Everything within felt ready to turn on your heel and leave this place again, but something felt odd enough for you to try again.
âLoki!â You repeated with a voice more stern and demanding.
At first no change was to be seen, but then you noticed a tremble in his hand as he was about to flick another page. His composure halted for a mere second until it continued in its superficially flawless movements.
At that a heavy sight fell from your lips. The realization dawned on you that Loki was putting up an act and it hurt that he felt the need to keep it upright even in front of you.
The stinging pain struck you so hard that it turned into a small fit of rage which led you to raise a fist and hammer it into the almost translucent wall of Asgardian magic that separated you from your silver lining. Your clenched hand hit the barrier with such force that small fractals of orange splintered from it and vanished into nothingness.
âLoki!â Now you cried his name in utter desperation, âIâm sorry⊠I know, I shouldâve come earl-â
Your breath faltered as the picture in front of you started to dissolve. The Loki sitting in front of you disappeared and instead an entirely destroyed cell was revealed. Furniture laid broken and torn all across the floor, the walls were smeared with dried blood and your best friend sat at the far end of his prison. His black hair dishevelled, clothes torn and a cynical smile playing around his chapped lips.
Your jaw dropped agape at the sight in front of you. Although you already got the hint that nothing really was as it appeared you certainly didnât expect this.
âHelloâŠâ Loki uttered, his voice brittle and lacking his signature mischievous spirit.
âLokiâŠ.â You repeated once again, your eyes rounding in baffled shock.
âThe one and onlyâŠâ Your best friend croaked, trying to get on his weak feet.
He was visibly troubled with standing straight let alone setting one foot in front of the other, yet he stumbled towards the barrier where you were watching his every movement in growing distress.
The momentum of his own motion dragged him so far that he wasnât able to stop properly but instead bumped into the wall with his forehead first, almost as if he was drunk. You certainly knew that he wasnât, but deep down you wished for him to be just that. It wouldâve been easier that way than to acknowledge that Loki was torn to pieces, exhausted and stripped from any driving force.
âI...I am sorryâŠ.â The words just poured from your lips as the same white hot tears you had tried so hard to suppress eventually found their way to the surface.
They ran from your eyes in burning streams, slithered across your cheeks, that were reddened by weeks of constant alcohol abuse, and eventually dropped from your trembling chin.
Instead you placed your own forehead onto the barrier, right where his was resting still.
âYou donât need to be, dear.â, Loki reciprocated, his own voice laced with an equally close to breaking tremble âAll that matters is that you are here right now..â
You wanted to say something, but every word appeared to be stuck in your dry throat. You felt the dire need to give him at least some kind of verbal comfort or encouragement, but nothing but helpless sobbing was willing to emerge from your lungs.
Although you couldn't feel his warmth you knew that Loki was there with you.
âI miss youâŠâ You croaked and it felt as if these three words turned all your insides out.
âI miss you, too.â He answered, his eyes catching yours.
They were bloodshot and dull. Tired.
Seeing him like that broke you like nothing else before and once again you started to punch the barrier with your fist. Over and over, knowing that it wouldnât do anything but the pain emitting from it may drown the dread you felt seeing your ray of sunlight like that.
âStop..!â, Loki huffed, already out of breath, âPlease.â
You nodded, your vision blurred by tear-soaked lashes.
Letting your first crush against the shimmering wall of orange sparks one last time you bit your trembling lower lip, not breaking from his gaze.
âListen to me, okay?â Loki croaked.
âThis might be a very long and uncomfortable Winter, but we both know what comes after that, right?â

Opening your aching eyes, you found yourself to be in a large room, there were plenty of feet stood at your eye level, and such a sight made you frown. You certainly didnât remember being knocked out, but who would, the exposure to unconsciousness was most likely sudden.
But nevertheless, you raised your head, glaring up at those whom had captured you. As your eyes scoured the room, your eyes landed promptly on the god of mischief, who had his hands bound and shackled in chains, and by Odin, did he look good.
However, your attraction the man who once reigned terror down upon New York wasnât the focus now, and so you licked your lips, and kicked the nearest guard in the leg. He stumbled, the noise loud enough to draw the attention of all others, and you were pleased to stifle a laugh. Loki frowned at your behaviour, knowing that this was not the way that you were trained to be an avenger, but it was clear that you were no longer on earth, so human pleasantries did not apply here.
âAnd by the gods, who in the galactic councilâs name do you think you are?â The closest asked, wrapping his large hand through your hair, and tugging your face up to stare up at him, wanting you to be treated as the lesser being he thought you as.
âActually, heâs the god.â Tilting your head, you diverted it towards Loki, who squinted feebly at your answer. âBut I think you already knew that, since you have him rattled in metal. Just a word of advice, rumour has it that he likes to be restrained in such ways; really, youâre doing him a favour, and you may just earn yourself a big tip.â
You sent a wink up at the commander, watching with inward joy as he grimaced at your development within your speech. âQuite a nice sight, to see him so vulnerable and at someoneâs mercy, so thank you general.â
Sending him a smile, he huffed, whilst Loki tried his darnedest to contain an amused grin. It wouldnât be the first occasion that you had made suggestions regarding the new troop of the avengers; even when he was around causing mischief, (which he still tended to do), there were always words said that gained the godâs intrigue.
Tony at the time, and to this day, despite him being a part of the heroic team, which Thor was âinclinedâ to drag him into, thought nothing more than disgust at your meaningful jokes. In his words, âyou two may as well screw so we donât have to listen to anymore of this dirty banter, you in regards to reindeer gamesâ.
How you wished right now, preached silently even, that Tony could bare to listen again, so that he could send in the team whom could deal with these aliens that were keeping your imprisoned. But all communications were cut, and that just left you and Loki.
By no means did you doubt if Loki got the chance to escape, he would leave you. It was in his nature to do so, but if you could pose a lack of threat, they may loosen up on their efficiency in guarding you. After all, Loki was the one they wanted, not you. And then, both of you could get away from this galactic nonsense.
âHumans.â The general huffed, causing you to grimace as the stench of his breath wafted through the air, and hit your nose. âYou all think that you are so special, but when it comes down to it, those who are not from your planet do not care. Loki here, this god, does not care about you little one. And he never will.â
âThatâs okay with me, because I donât care about him either. Itâd called self preservation.â You informed your captor, noticing Loki staring across at you with an icy gaze. Who were you kidding? Of course you cared about the god, but right now, you would do anything to get out of this predicament.
âAw would you look at that.â The feet moved back towards the main reward of their capture, staring down at the green eyed trickster with mocking eyes. âThis woman has attitude just like yours, if either of you cared, Iâd call it a match made in Asgard.â A laugh bellowed from the wide chest of the being, finding his own comedy quite humorous.
âExcuse me, Iâm way out of his league!â You pretended to be offended, bringing your hands that were free of restraint to your chest. They thought not to tie you down as they did to him, after all, you were nothing but a midguardian. That was their mistake. âWhatâd you want with old horse shagger over there anyways? Donât be alarmed, but he actually does some kind of good now, even if it be out of his own self interest.â
A heavy sigh fell on deaf ears, as the protector of space glanced unsurely between the pair of you. âHe has the tesseract, and I wish to take it from his slippery hands, he cannot be trusted with such a powerful source of energy.â His words bellowed a laugh of absolute surprise from your mouth, earning a frown from those keeping you hear, and a cock of the head from the god of mischief.
It was clear that not only was he confused by your supple, yet somewhat pleasant burst of amusement, but he was also in the dark about what in the Hela this predominant being was speaking of. Yes, he had had the tesseract at one point , however, no longer was it in his untrustworthy grasp.
Thanos had taken ownership over it, after killing many of the people that he had saved from the events of Ragnarok. It was not just some energy source, it had been an infinity stone all along, tricking the eyes of elders and the young to believe that it was nothing more than a harbouring of power. But it had indeed been the space stone, and it was taken from him, in exchange for saving Thorâs life.
The Guardians of the Galaxy had found the pair of them upon the aftermath of the wreckage, taking them in, amongst plans of taking Thanos down. It had been a failure, up until the avengers went back in time, going to their past that would not affect their future, so that they could reverse the affects the Titan had brought upon earth and everywhere else.
During that time, Loki had nurtured his brother, watching as he fell apart with the responsibility of their people, and collapsed into a spiral of depression. You had also been there for Thor, doing your best to take the drink away from the bulky god, but to no avail did you manage to succeed. And so, during those tormenting five years, you and Loki would sit side by side, both basking silently in your failures.
âI thought you guysâd know everything, but I guess that you and your highness are stuck in one time line; all of them. But for us humans and every lesser being, there are multiple, and that Loki that stole the tesseract, yet I say again, is one much different. And we are on the search for him, to stop his disruption and crossing over of the times!â An exonerated, and audible exhale of air left you after your little speech.
Loki smirked, at the premise of you protecting him with the admission of the truth. But he couldnât help but feel a feeling of warmth flutter within his immortal insides, it was rather a nice feeling he realised. âHe is quite difficult to catch, we have been tracking him since the time heist went sideways.â
âThatâs because heâs you!â You pointedly exclaimed, unable to pin some of the blame upon the god himself. Sure, in recent times he had changed, and was much different from back when he wanted all mortals to kneel before him (which youâd willingly do if it ever came to that, though youâd never tell him under which circumstances that would be), but at the end of the day, that had been him once!
The tricks and the lies still remained, but he had found a reason to thrive, and a long and enduring career that he was well at tackling. Often, he made out being an avenger, despite the governmentâs rouse of concern, to be a bore, and that he had far better things to do. But he stayed, with a light in his eyes, and continued following along with the heroic traditions, breaking a few rules here and there.
âDear, why do you always have to put the blame upon me? I was not the one who decided to put that green dye within your shampoo, but Iâll have to admit, did you look so enrapturing.â He was running a ploy, dragging out the time that you spent bantering in hopes of something happening.
Unlike Heimdall, he did not have foresight, but it was a requirement whilst the pair of you were on your expediting mission, that you check in with the base, via the comms that had cracked under brutal feet. And so, he spoke, with the promise that youâd return the conversation and leave all others in the room confused with your meaningless discussion.
âI did, didnât I?â You asked, to which he hummed in reply, lightly nodding his head, as his feline eyes ran up your body, paying ample attention to how your limbs were free, unlike his own. âBut Iâd say fine sir, that the blame is down to Clint, and if Iâm correct, may we kick his ass as soon as we get back home?â
âOf course we can my beloved-â you froze at his choice of words, and it appears that he did too, suddenly realising his mistake. Gulping for a second he went to speak again, but the commander felt much inclined to but in, and stop the headache that was bubbling in his large head.
âShut up; the pair of you!â His scolding made you feel as though you were in school over again, it was impossible not to drop your head down and try to contain your laughter. Loki too found such enjoyment in this predicament, sporting a cheshire grin to emit his emotions.
âIâm sorry, can you say that again? Maybe a just a tad louder?â You pinched your thumb and forefinger together to show how much, and it was clear that you were pissing this primal being off. He began towards you, and you were prepared to fight him, you were never one to back down, which was one feature upon the various reasons that Fury had initially recruited you.
Awaiting the first strike, you stood despite the others around you, your eyes wide open as you bravely stared up at your opponent. But before the fight could begin, a distant crash assumed preference in your ears, causing you to turn your head in the direction it had came from. And then, all of a sudden, a ship crashed through the dock, guns blazing from its side.
âWhat are you waiting for?â The distinct voice of Rocket asked, and obediently you ran through the terror, finding Loki already upon the ship, but then, he appeared behind you also. âQuill, get ready to go!â
Taking glances, you stared between the two practically identical copies, a light frown on your face. Both were restrained, yet the one that was seated beside Groot, whom was playing a game on some nineties device, was glaring up at the pair of you.
âAn avenger, really?â The seated one laughed, mocking his once future self, as you felt the ship steer clear away from the scene. Your Loki quirked his brow, smirking at his self that had avoided the wars that he had chosen to fight upon earth.
âYes, an avenger.â He responded, causing his other to languidly scoff. An âI am grootâ came from the tree, and it was uncertain in your spoken languages of what he had said, but either way, you were more intrigued by the conversation that was happening between the Lokiâs. âAnd Iâll have you know, that she is infinitely more brave than you, you cower-some fool.â
âOh, so weâre going there?â You asked, causing the pair to snap out of their mutual rivalry, and stare haphazardly at you. âNo, donât mind me, feel free to continue.â
âWeâre not going to be unable to unbind your until we reach earth.â Gamora cut in, speaking to the Loki that you knew to be the original.
âThatâs fine.â He nodded humbly, before casting his attention back at his alternate reflection. âAnd this woman, is not only an avenger. She was there for your brother when you were not.â
âAw.â The other Loki smirked, almost cruelly. âSo sheâs your beloved?â He remarked rudely, and it seemed to break something within Loki, him wishing not to listen to the other version of himself. He decided he did not like him, and understand how you must have felt upon your initial meeting.
âYes.â You went to speak, but instead, Loki stood before you, powerlessly pulling your face to his own, and colliding his lips upon yours. On impulse, you ravenously replied with much affection, clasping his jaw and allowing him entrance into your mouth. It earned a disgusted groan out of the Loki that had caused all this hassle.
âI hate to interrupt...â Rocket returned, after putting his gun down and having gone to the front of the ship with Quill, so that he could contact Stark. âBut these may get those off.â He held a pair of golden pliers, that were far larger than his body. At the sight , you pulled away from Lokiâs face for a moment, raising a brow.
âItâs fine, I think I want to keep them on.â You smirked, earning another sound of disapproval from Lokiâs identical rival, pulling him back to your face. Wildly, he hummed into the cavern of your mouth, as the pair of you stumbled around on the spaceship.
âBedrooms are down the hall to the right.â Nebula informed you, her voice monotone, and in turn, you dragged the god towards said direction, finally releasing all the tension that had been pent up through the years.
