Kind of a weird AU but hear me out:

Finwe marries Indis, right? Most controversial thing Finwe ever done and that includes leading elves from their ancestral home to a new continent to live with gods. Silmarillion says that it happened because he fell in love and I believe it BUT what Silmarillion doesn't tell you is WHEN Finwe marries Indis. I saw posts that say the canon is inconclusive and Tolkien probably changed his mind a lot, and half of what of what Tolkien wrote is thrown from the window by fandom, so.

Anyway, one of the versions said Feanor was at least a teenager when Finwe/Indis happens (I think). What Silmarillion states is that Feanor married VERY young by elven standards, and that Nerdanel was below his station (classism? in elven society? apparently!).

Last thing before I get to the main point: Fingolfin marries Anaire, a Noldo lady, who I saw often enough written as a noble or a court lady, perfectly fine that, no idea if that's canon. And Finarfin very much marries Teleri princess.

...I don't know guys, it feels very convienient. For princes to fall in love with exactly the kind of women who would be approved by royal court and strenghten political ties with other elven factions. If it was anything else than silm, I would call political marriages.

Time for crack: based on what I wrote above I propose an AU where it was FEANOR who was supposed to marry Indis. For politics! Vanyar are the most important faction in Aman! Let's marry into that!

But the MOMENT Feanor became an adult and they could process with courting without making it creppier than it already is, Feanor runs off to elope with his coworker and there's nothing they can do. Well, that's what Finwe tells Ingwe when Ingwe rages about it to him.

Finwe loves Feanor, he wants him to marry for love, and that's exactly what happens. But, uh, all Vanyar are pissed that there's no political marriage when they were promised one (they mad cause they look stupid now), and, well. Finwe decides to bite the bullet. For his son.

It's not true of course. But imagine family dinners after that.

Day 24 - 15 Days BL Challenge (part 2)

Day 24: What Storyline/trope do you enjoy and wish to see more of?

I've always loved when a hurt/traumatized person with low self-esteem and walls as high as a skyscraper meets a loving and kind person who just loves them and supports them.

Would love to see more of that buuuuuut I want to make this even more specific.

What I would love to see more is when those two people have slowly found themselves in a relationship but aren't quite there yet and it's still unspoken between them. Then a third person enters the picture and confidently starts trying to get with the romantic interest. This leaves the hurt character feeling unmoored and like they're not good enough and that the third person would be a better match for the romantic interest and they start pulling back and just become this pitiful wet rag of pure hurt.

I just love this pain soooo much and it just makes it so much more satisfying when they get together.

Think PhumPeem in We Are, which is actually the inspiration for why I'm including this here. It's actually even more specifically this PhumPeem fic which made me realise how much I love this type of trope/plot. The fic just brought the yearning and the hurt to the forefront which made for a delicious read.

2. Work you are most proud of (and why):

when you were mine in the dark -> this is my favorite work of mine. I wrote it in a span of months, thinking about every bit of dialogue, action, emotion, and so on. So much research went into the source material and compiling different ideas of canonical events. God, I had so much fun. It's rare for me to be proud of something. I'm tremendously proud of this one.

3. Work you are least proud of (and why):

Sending him a side-eyed glance, Ziva looks over her shoulder, saying, “The dish, yes? It is delicious. Tomatoes, zucchini, and peppers—I make a tremendous one.” It’s true. “But what does it have to do with a cooking rat?” “A rat chef. Not a cooking rat.” “So, a chef that is a rat?” “More of a rat that is a chef. Y’know what? Don’t sweat on it.”  “You already did for both of us, yes?”  “Don’t blame me for needing a shower. It was an eight-hour flight.”  “Oh, believe me,” she says, holding her breath. “I know.”

6. A time when writing was really, really hard:

November 2024 (aka the hardest month of medical residency; I almost didn't sleep, let alone write. But hooray to battling through it, I got out of it alive!!!)

7. A scene or character you wrote that surprised you:

Writing about Somalia in (again LOL my favorite) when you were mine in the dark. That nightmare scene took a lot of me to write and it was so tricky to write about trauma and not make it traumatic.

8. How did you grow as a writer this year:

I think I matured enough to write about more serious topics in the Tiva timeline (Somalia, the secret summer, Tony alone during season 13, Tali's birth) with the degree of seriousness I wanted to.

The spin-off been revealed also pushed me to write about stuff I had always been afraid (sofia's take on 11x02 is coming!!! don't worry) in a way I liked. I had so much fun.

9. How do you hope to grow next year:

Next year will be a year filled with studies from me again (horrible) but I'll continue to dive into hard topics such as Tali's birth, Cairo and 11x02. Can't wait to write about them before canon changes haha.

Also... The spin-off? Like??? Until proven otherwise, we are all collectively dreaming. It makes me want to cry.

10. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):

Gotta give this one completely to @television-overload. Haley is such a sweet soul and a loyal friend. We embarked on this journey of a Tiva Fanfiction Writing project together (which you can check on @tiva-challenges !!!) in a way I've always dreamed of. Thank you, friend. Here's to many more projects in the Tiva universe.

11. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year:

Yes. You don't need to know more, but all the secret summer of sex fics are about me personally. Yes. All of them. Yes, I know what you're thinking. Yes. Yes, all of them.

12. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers:

Treat your audience like they're smart.

It changed the way I wrote things completely. I show more than tell now and I found out that is the key to mysterious writing (which I love), people are going to make the connections. Storytelling is so fun!!!

13. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year:

YES. I'm currently writing about Tali's birth for a big personal goal of mine and I also want to write about Cairo before canon changes.

Which, well... Expect me to write about every episode of the spin-off. I can't believe I can say this. What a dream. What a beautiful dream.

Everyone, make way—this is my favorite work, ever. Trust me. Please. Please, read this one. It summarizes everything I think about Tony & Ziva.

I can't believe I've written this much this year. And without any big uncompleted works. I had only written this much on the pandemic.

it’s been the kind of day that drains you to your very bones. every ounce of energy sucked dry, leaving you craving nothing but the release of a scalding hot shower. something about the almost-boiling water always seems to melt the weight of the world off your shoulders.

so you slip into the bathroom, lock the door behind you, and cling to the sudden silence, hoping it can quiet the chaos storming through your mind.

but barely five minutes pass before the doorknob rattles sharply, followed by an exaggerated, dramatic sigh from the other side.

baekhyun.

the sound of his footsteps shuffling off to the kitchen, and you just know what’s coming. not even a minute later, you hear the doorknob click open, followed by his low, playful grumble weaving through the steam: “tsk! unbelievable. can’t believe this woman actually tried to shower without ME and lock ME out of MY own bathroom...like i'm not her husband or something...”

the soft rustle of his clothes slipping to the floor follows, and you can't help but let out a quiet, frustrated breath. already plotting how you’ll lock every damn chopstick in the bathroom with you the next time you crave some peace and fucking quiet.

you’re exhausted, overstimulated, and all you wanted was some time to yourself. but then, he steps into the shower behind you, his arms sliding around your waist in a gentle, grounding hold. immediately, the tension starts to melt, like warm honey trickling over your skin. no words are necessary; he’s always known how to read you, how to sense what you need without a single glance. he’s always known. he always will.

he pulls you closer, resting his chin on top of your head, his presence a quiet reassurance. “hey, it’s okay, baby. i’m here. you did your best today,” he murmurs, his voice soft, the words brushing your ear like a warm caress. his lips press gentle, comforting kisses into your damp hair, each one soothing the weight of the world pressing against your shoulders. slowly, the pressure lifts, and a calm washes over you.

when you finally turn to face him, the soft smile tugging at your lips catches his eye. his eyes linger on you, a grin spreading across his face as he registers the shift in your mood, convinced everything’s fine now—like the weight of the day has simply evaporated.

“damn, this shower’s hotter than hell. was your day really that bad??? y'think we can cool it down a little? geeeez.”

you roll your eyes, swatting his hand away just as it reaches for the knob, and with an exasperated shove, you push him out of the shower. he stumbles, catching himself just in time, but the second he does, the whining starts—his eyes wide, his voice dripping with exaggerated desperation. “baby, i was joking!!! come on, pleaaaase! it’s freezing out here!” he pleads, dragging out every syllable as if your refusal might be the end of him. “i’ll be good, i swearrrr,” he adds, his tone a mix of pleading and mock agony.

"fine," you say with a reluctant sigh and he’s quick to slide back in with that familiar, cocky smirk, already reclaiming his space.

"i should've known my little demon of a wife likes her showers scorching hot," he murmurs, his eyes flashing with amusement. "guess i can take the heat every now and then."

you squeeze your eyes shut, pinching the bridge of your nose as your patience breaks yet again. "oh my god. shut up or get the fuck out, baekhyun."

he lets out a low, breathy laugh at the twitch in your eye, clearly finding your irritation both cute and endearing. as if the look in your eyes isn’t screaming, i will fucking kill you, but rather something soft and harmless—like you’re a cute, cuddly bunny incapable of causing any real harm.

his grin only widens, eyes narrowing into playful crescents as his nose scrunches with amusement. before you can cuss him out for not taking you seriously, he closes the space between you, moving with a fluid, effortless grace. his hands slide up, cradling your face with a possessive tenderness that makes your pulse skip. in a heartbeat, his lips are on yours, the kiss so sudden and intense that it knocks the breath right out of your lungs.

“mmm, you're so fuckin' cute when you're fiesty,” he murmurs, his breath warm against your lips, and his smirk only deepens when he sees the heat rise in your cheeks. he leans in just enough to let his lips graze your ear, the smirk never leaving his face. "makes me wanna see just how far i can push you."

HONESTLY all my love to fanfic writers, but every time they mention ‘Wilson’s hip bones’ ‘Wilson’s abs’ as if that man hasn’t been Soft since late s2. As if it isn’t a million times hotter for him to have a nice ass and strong thighs and a soft tummy smh

I always get so sad when fic writers describe him that way unless its specifically set in season 1 bc no!!!! he is not toned!!!! he is soft in the middle and thats okay!!!

the opposite is always a treat, though, whenever a writer describes him properly, i smile so hard when they note his soft tum, thighs, or anything like that. bless their hearts.
