any tips for getting into copywriting?
Learn the basics of copywriting & writing fundamentals/ marketing skills
Study the different types of copywriting (web/banners, email, social, ads, direct mail, sales letters, etc.)
Decide on your niche(s). Study everything you can about the industry, trends, latest news, customer demographics/psychographics, customer behavior, types of lifestyles/preferences they have, how they speak, where they spend the most time (IRL or digitally)
Craft an inspiration folder full of compelling copywriting examples you find when browsing on the web, going through your email, scrolling on social media, billboards, magazines, direct mail, etc.
Practice rewriting these examples with your own flair. Evaluate it, and keep practicing until you're proud of your copy.
Be as concise, clever, and convincing as possible. Keep your tone conversational (write like how you would speak), catchy, simple, and witty. Take out any extraneous or fluff words. Pepper in cultural references, puns, and relatable anecdotes understood by your target audience when relevant to your messaging/CTA
Create a portfolio with these mock-ups or projects done for family/friends (state they're spec work, not client-commissioned samples) or clips from an internship, school work, etc.
Craft a USP for yourself (including your niche, copywriting specialties, and the specific expertise you offer within your broader niche/service offerings that makes you unique)
Create an Upwork profile and share your services on LinkedIn (optimize both of these profiles)
Research local clients and small businesses within your niche. Also, take time to create a list of dream clients. Study their copy, brand voice, and keep tabs on updates regarding these companies' happenings
Learn the art of a cold email/LinkedIn pitch/Upwork proposal. Introduce yourself and your services to your prospect and share with them how you can fulfill a specific need they're seeking out (For local and smaller companies, feel free to offer suggestions. With more established companies, connect the dots as to why your experience/expertise is a great fit for their brand/target audience), and attach your work/link to your LinkedIn profile, website, and any other relevant hub for your professional services & content
Ask for referrals from friends/family to get started. If they're not a relative, get a testimonial to include in your portfolio
Follow up once if you haven't heard back from a prospective client after an initial pitch after a few days
Search for potential gigs on sites like Upwork/ProBlogger/People Per Hour
Once you land a gig, execute to the best of your ability and hand in your work by the deadline (strategies surrounding best business practices is a whole other post, lol)
Gather testimonials from all clients of successful projects. Confirm with clients whether you can use their work in your portfolio if you're unsure
Continue studying copywriting from books, courses, and everyday reading & living
Stay knowledgeable about advancements/updates in your field, keep updated on current events, and culture/social trends, and read a lot in general. Have interesting, multi-faceted conversations with others. Observe what makes people tick & remain engaged in a verbal dialogue or content

Do you ever feel like 24 hours in a day aren't enough? You're not alone - studies show that most people struggle to manage their time effectively.
I've faced this myself. Sometimes I plan my day but distractions especially social media end up eating most of my time. TikTok, for example is a huge time-killer for me! To tackle this, I recently set a timer and started switching off the app when my screen notification reminds me to stop. It's not perfect but it's helping.
Another issue I've struggled with is doing tasks I find boring or failing to prioritize what's important. To fix this, I've started using tools like the Pomodoro Timer and the Eisenhower Matrix. These apps are making a difference and I'm excited to see how they help me stay organized.
One big change I've made is avoiding overcommitting to tasks that don't align with my priorities. Saying "no" more often has saved me so much time and allowed me to focus on what matters.
Time is one of the few things we can't get back. By managing it wisely you can achieve your goals and create a more fulfilling life
What's one time management strategy that works for you?

How To Journal — Easy Way For Beginners in 2024
I have come to a realization we live in a world today where everything seems to be systematized. We love to structure things. Create 10 steps for this, for that and for everything else. But we tend to forget this:
In life there are things that are really simple. Just like journaling. Let’s not make this complicated!
I am sharing with you a habit that healed my life truly. Here are hacks that worked really well for me.
A lot of journaling is just about DOING IT. (Don’t overthink it. Just execute)
“Just do it. Just start writing and eventually you would find your niche and gist to it.”
Journaling is so personal.
Once you start writing eventually you would want to go deeper.
Because now you are already reaping the benefit of journaling.
Once you are at this phase automatically you would start separating and specializing your journals into each category of your life.
For instance: gratitude journal, goals journal, to-do journal, affirmation journal, night journal, feelings journal & etc.
What you are doing here is you are giving each area of your life its own space to flourish, to grow, to wilt and to rise again. This opens you up to room of possibilities, opportunities and creativity which all derives from one single habit that you choose to begin.
Try it out and remember you can only reap the benefit of any habit/skill/action when you do it consistently with a strong belief of yours. A lot of success is just about doing it repeatedly over a period of time.
Yours, Asrajjit Kaur

Hi femme,
recently i have been struggling with sticking to a routine with all of my exams, exercise as healthy eating, and all the stress of just social life and exams have been beating me down and i’ve been really unhealthy
in a way like i’ve been smoking and drinking a lot more and don’t eat healthily at all and my exercise is minimal
i’m just wondering if you have any tips to get back into a good routine when you’ve been out of it for so long
love your advice xx
Hi love! Thank you so much <3
It's so tough to keep up healthy habits when you're busy and stressed, so please be compassionate towards yourself while working to implement these better daily routines.
I think the best thing to do is start small. With simpler activities that require less resistance, such as:
Carving out a 10-minute non-negotiable walk into your day
Replacing a drink or two for a cup of tea
Keep all junk food/vices out of your house so you won't be as tempted
Think of healthy eating as a chance to add more foods to your diet, not restrict––find a few fruits/veggies you love and add them to most of your meals
Cut the soda/sugary drinks for water, tea, and non-sugary coffee
Drink water –– keep a bottle or glass with you at all times
Get 7+ hours of sleep most nights (make it a priority in your life)
Give yourself a "scream" session every day for 5-20 minutes –– a shower, a moment in bed to bury your head in a pillow, some self-love, a dance party in your room, etc. to blow off some steam and let out the stress
Hope this helps xx
