For Feng Xin week, day 5: Xianle War!

here's a few reminders for the mxtx fandom

1. Wei Wuxian had 2 older sister figures in his life and they both died trying to save him and in the end failed since he died anyway. (RIP Wen Qing and Jiang Yanli)

2. Mu Qing only ever had his mom other than XL and FX and she died a mortal death. We don't know anything about FX's mortal family.

3. Wen Ning was experimented on for 13 years in captivity after seeing his sister's ashes and blames himself still for wwx's downfall

4. He Xuan cannot leave the world even after his revenge to Shi Wudu and is purposeless for all of his immortal life.

5. Jin Ling will never taste his mom's handmade favourite soup.

6. Canon Feng Xin and Mu Qing do not know what happened at the temple to Xie Lian.

7. Jiang Cheng will probably never be good enough in his own eyes (until he has like grand-nephews or something)

8. Shi Qingxuan will (probably) die a mortal death.

9. Some of Nie Huaisang's last words to Nie Mingjue were that he never wanted to be a clan leader.

10. XL and WWX both tried to protect a certain demographic that got wiped out anyway and made them public enemies and reason for their eventual downfall making it essentially ineffective.

11. All the calamities are actually gods who could or did ascend heaven.

12. Xiao Xingchen killed himself after finding out he wiped out villages full of innocent people and his own best friend who he gave up his eyes for. And realising his pursuit of helping the world was worthless.

Hi! I got supper busy! and by busy I mean injured.

I'm fine but hey happy trans visiblity day!

totally unrelated but I have just been laying around distracting myself so now I have decided to once again draw a cast line up. All the martial gods for now, since I got to tweaking up the QYZ and YY one I'd already done and redoing my awfully huge poster thing I started like 4 years ago now. Doing it this way is more fulfilling to me, maybe one day I'll return to it but not now.

Heaven Official's Blessing except I haven't read the book, remember nothing of the donghua, and saw a few spoilers.

This is the first part of this relatively long project in which I attempt to retell what I remember of TGCF before I read the books. For this project, I have to do everything from memory, so I can't look at references for the characters, or see summary of any sorts. BUT! I do want to enjoy this story as much as possible when I DO read it. So please avoid spoilers as much as possible in the replies, the reblogs and the tags (I can see them all).

His idea of a disguise being his face when he was young + Mu Qing's hair color

Being so terrified of women that being in a bath house of them is his biggest nightmare

Having a whole (well. Not whole) child with a woman that became a resentful fetus spirit

Being a deadbeat dad but not knowing he is one for like 800 years

The fact that he ascended due to being so proficient at martial arts and not being a cultivator

Also having horrible handwriting like Hua Cheng but nobody to help him with it

When Xie Lian ascended and tore down his palace and he was incredibly angry about it in public but secretly excused Xie Lian's debt <3

Being loyal and devoted to the point he used to think it ridiculous that he and Xie Lian would ever part ways

Gifting the golden belt Xie Lian gave him to Jian Lan as proof of his loyalty to her

When he uses his archery skills for busking and he tears into the screen of a brothel so he and Xie Lian run away so they dont have to pay back the damages

^this being how he meets Jian Lan again, and where he goes to spend time with her as he nurtures feelings for her, renting her services some nights without doing anything just to spend time with her <3

When he and Xie Lian refused the rice Mu Qing got for them after the fall of Xianle and drove him away but then went back for the rice lmao

Every time he sees Mu Qing, its on sight

Getting drenched in the blood rain like an angsty teen whilst everyone else took cover and then dripping blood all over the palace of the heavenly emperor

Being appalled at the idea that Xie Lian eats food off the ground???

i genuinely can’t stop thinking about this scene. fxmq still standing near xie lian even though they could have stepped away from him even before everyone was dismissed. and once they were told to leave they didn’t go immediately, they hesitated. and then mu qing leaves first, followed by feng xin, both of them looking disappointed to go but what other choice do they have and all three together again but they can’t fix the past and this is no doubt a harsh reminder of everything that had happened. god.

OMG Can you imagine an AU where Xie Lian and Hua Cheng are already married before Xie Lian's third ascension. Despite Hua Cheng's best efforts Xie Lian found out about the cave of 10,000 gods, but he's managed to distract Xie Lian from actually going to see it for at least a few centuries.

After every thing that happens Hua Cheng knows he can't keep it from happening anymore. It's even worse that Mu Qing and Feng Xin end up in the cave with them. Xie Lian is just having the time of his life unable to decide which statue is his favorite, while Fengqing silently freak out, and Hua Cheng tries not to die of embarrassment.
