S.M.A.R.T goals:
How to set and achieve your goals

What does SMART stand for?
S - specific. don't just set vague goals like "i wanna get fit" or "i wanna get abs". how are you gonna know when/ where to start? if you want to get fit: your goal could be "go to the gym for 30 mins everyday" or "i want to run 5k in under 30 mins". whatever works for you. some other examples: -> if your big goal is to get high marks on your next test: your "mini" goals/ steps should be to study everyday for at least 30-60mins. -> if your big goal is to get money/ become rich: your steps/ mini goals should be to save $___ daily first. and also figure out a way you can make a mini business/ get a job.
M - measurable. make sure that your goals are measurable- meaning that you should be able to track them. some examples: -> if your goal is to read more: then create or find a habit tracker or something so everyday when you read, you can mark it down for that day. ! recommended resource: James Clear's habit tracker journal- you can find it on amazon.
A - Achievable keep your goals realistic and attainable. if you know you dont have the time/ energy to read a whole book in 1 week, dont do it- otherwise you'll get easily discouraged. the goldilocks principle: don't make it too easy, where it doesn't give you a challenge, but don't make it too hard either, otherwise you'll get easily discouraged.
R - Relevant basically a WHY. why do you want/ need to accomplish this goal? have a motivation which drives you. make sure your goal is relevant to you in some sort of way. example: -> if you want to learn a language such as spanish, why do you wanna learn it? because you want to travel to Spain one day? to be able to communicate with someone? even if the purpose is as simple as "wanting to be bilingual cus it makes me feel cool and impressive" - if that motivates you, then go ahead!
T - time bound your goals need to have some sort of deadline or urgency attached to it- otherwise you could take all the time you want to start and procrastinate as much as you want. having a deadline for the goal will motivate you to take action sooner, than later.
how to use SMART goals effectively:
decide on the goal. (something that you actually need/ want to accomplish.)
break it down into smaller steps. (very small. so small that you can start working on whatever it is NOW.) you want to get high marks on your test? lets break it down. study 30 mins everyday -> walk to desk -> get material out -> identify what you need to study -> find your weaker topics & write it out -> create a planner or smth -> start studying. // need help? find videos online, go thru material again, find study tips, etc.
write them down. (helps you stay accountable. also people who write their goals down are 42% more likely to achieve them than people who don't write it down.)
create an action plan. (relates to the 2nd point. outline the necessary steps to take, identify resources, set milestones, plan for potential obstacles.)
monitor and evaluate progress. (regularly review your goals, mistakes, and progress. what could you do better to be more efficient and quicker? how can you learn from your mistakes?)
stay committed and flexible. (you really need to be committed to achieve the goals, you shouldn't just start off super excited, doing great in the first week then slacking off. you've made a commitment to YOURSELF. respect yourself enough to stick to it! but also be flexible with your goals. if you're reeeallyy not able to do it one day, plan to do a bit more the next day. stay focussed and don't get discouraged by setbacks.)
celebrate achievements. (recognise when you've hit a major milestone, and celebrate it! this helps you maintain motivation and a sense of accomplishment. and reward yourself!!)
random additional tips:
visualisation. (such a strong form of manifestation. everyday visualise yourself with your goals, feeling all the emotions and thoughts that come with it! visualisation can also really boost your motivation and drive to achieve it.)
PRIORITIES. (remember that also, all goals aren't equally important. prioritise the ones that really matter. this doesn't mean that you can't focus on the other goals, just make sure the ones that need more attention, get more attention.)
positive language. (use kind and encouraging words towards yourself. know and understand that you are that girl who can achieve ANYTHING she sets her mind to.)
seek support. (ask friends and family or a mentor for help. if you want, be careful tho, share your goals with them to help you stay accountable. and if you know a person who's achieved your goals, GET ADVICE FROM THEM! where better to get advice from than someone who's been through what you're going through?)
stay organised. (self explanatory. just stay organised. messy space = messy mind. clean space = clean mind.)
maintain balance. (of course your goals are important, but so is the age you're currently at. especially if you're a teenage, DONT WASTE THESE YEARS!! get out of the house! make friends! go to parties! LIVE LIFE TO ITS FULLEST. also make sure that you get the adequate rest needed!)
write about your journey. (write about the struggles, the obstacles, how you overcame them, insights you got on this journey, etc. trust me, it'll be so interesting and helpful to read when you're older.)

HOW TO SET AND ACCOMPLISH YOUR GOALS
Setting and accomplishing goals is an important aspect of personal and professional development. By following these steps, you can increase your chances of success:
SET SMART GOALS : Use the acronym SMART to set your goals
S: specific: set real numbers with real deadlines.
M: measurable: make sure your goal is trackable
A: attainable: work towards a goal that is challenging, but possible.
R: realistic: be openly honest with yourself.
T: time bound: give yourself a deadline
DEFINE YOUR GOALS: Start by clearly defining what you want to achieve.
BREAK IT DOWN: Break your goals into smaller, manageable tasks. This will make them less overwhelming and easier to tackle.
CREATE A PLAN: Develop a detailed plan of action for each goal. Identify the steps you need to take and set deadlines for each task.
STAY FOCUSED: Avoid distractions and stay focused on your goals. Prioritize your tasks and allocate time each day to work towards them.
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS: Monitor your progress regularly. Keep a record of your achievements and make adjustments to your plan if necessary.
STAY MOTIVATED: Find ways to stay motivated throughout your journey. Celebrate your accomplishments, seek support from others, and remind yourself of the reasons why you set these goals.
LEARN FROM SETBACKS: Setbacks and obstacles are a natural part of goal-setting. Instead of getting discouraged, view them as learning opportunities. Identify what went wrong and adjust your approach accordingly.
Remember, setting and accomplishing goals is a journey. Be patient with yourself, stay committed, and celebrate your achievements along the way!

8 Ways to Write More, More Often:
Set smart goals and stretch goals. Smart goals are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-based. Stretch goals are the little bit extra you can reach if a writing session goes well.
Build small habits. Small habits are easier to build than large ones. Writing fifty words every day for a week can become 500 words daily more easily than starting with a big and daunting target. Big habits begin small. Consider establishing a system that works, instead of setting lofty goals that you aren't quite sure how to reach.
Work on perspective and your locus of control. "Locus of control" refers to whether a person sees events as unfolding due to external forces more, or due to their own agency and action. Keep reading for more on how this connects to productivity. Keeping productive (not just in writing) comes easier to people when they believe in their own agency, in the power of actions they take to create the outcomes they want.
Check in with a productivity or writing coach. If you struggle with creating the systems and accountability to stay productive, ask for help. A writing buddy or coach can hold you accountable with kindness and thoughtful, measured input. A writing coach helps through a combination of discussion about your work and ideas, feedback on writing identifying improvement areas and providing stimulating questions and/or suggestions, and encouragement and support when you most need them.
Embrace the motivating power of groups and teams. Writing is a solitary pursuit but a caring writing group may help you sustain your commitment to your story. It's easier to keep showing up together. The best writing groups provide a safe place to find something like beta readers who are writers, too. A place to renew your focus through productive discussion.
Use planning and productivity tools. Calendars, spreadsheets, or a place where you record your daily writing streaks help you keep track of progress. Your story planning tools may be as simple as a calendar to set alarmed reminders for writing sessions or sprints, or a more complex system.
Build in vital breaks. Build breaks into your writing routine – self-care keeps muses happy. In planning smart goals and stretch goals, writing sprints and sessions, remember to build in breaks. Not writing is not necessarily not writing. Burnout is both easy to reach and easy to avoid.
Feed your writing focus. What are the ingredients of better productivity in writing and other endeavors? Motivation. Focus. Intention. Discipline. Identify your best creative environment. Eliminate prominent distractions. Schedule focused time.

SPIRITUAL GOAL : "In God, we trust, and for us, we act."
SMART goals are designed to give goal-setting an organized approach while guaranteeing that targets are time-sensitive, realistic, measurable, and unambiguous. This approach helps people and organizations stay motivated, assess progress, and keep focused, which increases the likelihood of success.
Setting and adhering to SMART goals—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound—makes goals more realistic and achievable and lowers the likelihood that they will fail because of ambiguity or poor planning.
Spiritual Self
The most attractive and powerful version of yourself is your spiritual self. It is your true self, your unconditioned self, and you devoid of habits. It is where you show your vulnerable side and your own real self to no one but God.
In order to achieve my goals in setting up my spiritual self, I need to show and give efforts to earn it willingly without if's and but's.
S - I'm lacking in spiritual communication, so I would like to be close to God more than I am. I want to know and explore more about the things I didn't. I want to fill up my spiritual needs with all positive energy with the help and guide by our God
M - I want to learn from my past behavior and committed to God and became a better version of myself.
A - Go to churches every Sunday and read the bible at least 30 minutes per day.
R - Strengthen spiritual wisdom and builds deep faith in God
T - I'll become spiritually and mentally committed to God after 2 months of continuous worshipping his words and plans for us.

Formulate a SMART Goal that will help you achieve this.
I will spend 15 minutes daily reading inspirational books and reflecting on my thoughts. Every week, I will practice gratitude by writing down five things I am thankful for. My SMART goal for today:
In order to create real or mockplots that make sense i will create first a story for my presentation until 17:00 that will have structure and goal and will be a single storyline for a paper. From that i will be able to choose which figures i want to show later.
I would like to use more smart goals on every day tasks and make fewer and more specific goals with a purpose.
Update: i got so deep into making hypotheses that i opend my code and ran analyses that never finished instead of actually doing the task.
Same goal for today. Lets try again. 😅

How To Tackle the New Year with SMART Writing Goals
We are only days away from 2025, and naturally, everyone’s talking about New Year’s Resolutions, and New Year, New Me. We set all these goals–start a new book, redraft a book, publish–determined to stick through with them. And then come March, we’ve lost all motivation to do anything we pledged so diligently just a few months before. If you feel called out right now, don’t worry–you’re not…

too many people are clutching their pearls about the columbia university encampment statement saying they don't like the us and not enough people are thinking about how they said they want to continue the "successes" of the "palestinian resistance" and bring those into the us. what successes would that be, that temporally align with your encampment, may i ask. would it be the nova massacre by chance. shall we discuss how this statement was released three days after the bodies of hersh goldberg-polin (23), eden yerushalmi (24), ori danino (25), almog sarusi (27), alexander lobanov (33), and carmel gat (40) were recovered after having recently been murdered

SMART Goal Setting: Making Your Goals Clear and Achievable!
Hey everyone! Today, we’re diving into a tool that will make your goals clearer and easier to achieve—SMART Goal Setting. Whether it's in your work, daily life, or personal development, the SMART method is your ultimate goal-setting assistant. Ready to explore? Let’s dig into this effective goal-setting framework!
What is SMART Goal Setting?
SMART is a framework for setting goals that involves five key principles to help you create specific, achievable goals. SMART stands for:
Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Relevant
Time-bound
These principles help you avoid vague goals, ensuring that your goals are clear, actionable, and challenging. Let’s see how these principles work in practice!
1. Specific
Goals need to be specific and clear so you know exactly what you're working towards. Vague goals are often hard to achieve.
Example:
Vague: “I want to get healthier.”
Specific: “I plan to go to the gym three times a week and reduce my sugar intake over the next three months.”
Story: Da Ming wanted to improve his health. Initially, his goal was just to “get healthier,” which led to frequent failures. Later, he set a specific goal: going to the gym three times a week and reducing sugar intake. After three months, he successfully improved his health and lost 5 kilograms!
2. Measurable
When setting goals, ensure you can measure progress. This way, you know how close you are to achieving your goal and when you have reached it.
Example:
Unmeasurable: “I want to improve my sales performance.”
Measurable: “I plan to increase my sales by 20% in the next quarter.”
Story: Xiao Jie, a sales representative, wanted to improve her sales. Her initial goal was simply to “increase sales,” but lacked specific metrics. She later set a goal to “increase sales by 20%,” and tracked her progress weekly. Ultimately, she achieved her goal and received praise from her manager!
3. Achievable
Goals should be realistic and challenging yet attainable with your current resources and conditions.
Example:
Unachievable: “I want to become an industry expert in one month.”
Achievable: “I plan to complete two relevant online courses and participate in industry networking over the next three months.”
Story: Da Ming aimed to enhance his professional skills. Initially, he set an unrealistic goal to “become an industry expert in one month,” which led to immense pressure and failure. He revised his goal to “complete two relevant online courses and participate in industry networking,” eventually improving his skills and gaining more job opportunities.
4. Relevant
Ensure your goals align with your long-term vision and core needs. Relevant goals help you achieve both career and personal objectives.
Example:
Irrelevant: “I want to learn to play the guitar.”
Relevant: “I want to improve my communication skills to help my team collaborate more effectively.”
Story: Xiao Jie wanted to boost her work efficiency and initially set a goal to “learn to play the guitar.” Realizing this wasn’t related to her work goals, she adjusted her objective to “improve communication skills” and took relevant training. Her work efficiency and team collaboration significantly improved.
5. Time-bound
Goals need a clear timeframe, giving you a deadline to stay motivated and measure progress.
Example:
No Time Limit: “I want to learn French.”
Time-bound: “I plan to complete an introductory French course and hold basic conversations within six months.”
Story: Xiao Jie wanted to learn French and set a vague goal to “learn French,” which led to procrastination. She later set a specific timeframe: “complete an introductory French course and hold basic conversations in six months.” This helped her track progress and meet her learning goals on time.
Conclusion
From the stories and examples above, we see that the SMART goal-setting method not only helps you create clear goals but also organizes your path to achieving them. If you want to set effective goals in work, life, or personal development, try using the SMART method. Let’s use SMART to achieve our visions and create a better future together!
Hope these insights are helpful! If you have other goal-setting experiences or questions, feel free to share in the comments. Let’s discuss and learn together! See you next time!

HARD goals are superior to SMART goals.
I said what I said, and I stand by it! Why? I love setting HARD goals because it forces me to include my motivating forces. When I'm having a really tough day where I'm feeling unmotivated or absolutely cannot focus, I can always go back and read my "why." HARD goals encourage you to break your goal down at a much deeper level, and for myself, this has made the biggest difference! H- Heartfelt: Why do you want to accomplish this goal? How will it benefit you? A- Animated: Visualize yourself after accomplishing your goal? How do you feel? How does this goal add value to your life? R- Required/Research: What is required of you in order to accomplish your goal? (This is where you do your research.) What concrete steps can you take today to make it happen? What is your plan of action for the next three months? The next six months? D- Difficult: What skills do you need to work on in order to accomplish your goal? How will you improve these skills?
