Dick got a training room for gyminastics, there are bars hanging from the roof, equipment Bruce doesn't even know what's for but that it surely entretains his son and the floor was totally replaced by mats

"Casually" his room has a secret room attached to it that you can only enter trhu a secret door behind a bookshelf in his bedroom, and "just by chance" it's also another library, that has "secret and censored" books for being controversial in their time, it also just happens to have a skylight and one of those one-way windows

Tim? Bruce made him a dark room, of course he did, that's attached to another room, the light is bare there, and it has two boards, one where you can use magnets and a marker and one for the old red string and tack's

Cass? A whole dance studio that she didn't ask for (none of them did, really) but she appreciates it, mostly because she can use it whenever she feels like it, even the middle of the night because its sound proof

Sometimes stuff we've done lots of times can still seem scary; which is annoying because who wants to feel anxious about the same exact thing over and over again?

You have to get these scans done by tomorrow. With every heart of your being, you wished that wasn't true but your previous scans were too old.

UGH!

Luckily, your papa had a trick up his sleeve.

He told you to stay here, in this gigantic, empty, white walled room. It was utterly boring, there were no paintings or statues or anything. Not even toys! Well, okay, you had your Mr. Rainy Day Bear but still... At least there were floor to ceiling windows- OH, and a skylight, too. Those were always nice.

While you waited for Bruce to come back, you watched what went on outside. There was Tony using his latest invention to attempt to lift Uncle Thor’s hammer. Tony still had no idea that it couldn't possibly work! How silly of him.

Bucky, Sam, and Steve stood in a far apart triangle. They were tossing around the Captain America shield like a Frisbee, guffawing, and yelling things that were joyously incomprehensible. It looked like lots of fun. Definitely more fun than MRIs. Maybe, they would let you join in later.

The double doors of the empty room swung open and papa’s humongous green form entered.

“Okayyy, love bug, I've grabbed all the cardboard pieces from recycling that weren't gross.” He grimaced thinking about the black, moldy gunk that spoiled some previously useful parts. He shrunk back down to Bruce Banner size after dumping the cardboard into a large pile. “We should have enough for our little art project.”

“Art project?” You looked at him expectantly. Your eyes were lit up with stars of joy this time, instead of meteor shower anxiety.

The idea was to make a cardboard MRI machine. Having an art project to focus on would comfort and reassure you about the process you would go through tomorrow. If he could make it fun, your anxiety wouldn't be so bad.

“I’ve seen the machine before, papa, I can make the bestest one yet!” You hopped on your toes, giddy with tight, flapping fists.

“I grabbed your sticker books and some paint, too-”

“OH YAY, THANK YOU PAPA, THIS IS SO EXCITING!!”

Mission accomplished. Anxiety gone, replaced with magical cure Art Project™. Bruce smirked to himself.

You laid down on a tall, square cardboard piece. Bruce traced your form with a sharpie as you giggled. Once you had the correct length, you both began cutting a rectangular piece and put that piece on a metal cart with wheels.

Then, you cut out half circle pieces and hot glued them all together until it made one large 4D sphere with a hole in the middle like a donut.

At one point, the glue burned you but Papa Bruce fixed it right up and stopped the booboo pain with a cure-all kiss.

Your cardboard MRI machine may look done to outsiders but it wasn't even close. It was missing the most important part of all: the stickers! There were heart stickers, stickers with dolphins, rainbow stickers, puppy stickers, stickers that had Mr. Hulk and Papa on them, too! There were even stickers of Stevey, Bucky, Iron Man, and Uncle Thor! Papa said for your birthday he'd make stickers with you on them, too.

You also painted squiggles, polka dots, lines, circles, triangles, kitty cats, and zig zags. All of them in your most favoritest color.

“There!” You stood proudly, hands on your hips. “Now, it's very, very pretty, papa.”

Papa gave you a minute and then asked, “Are you ready to practice?”

You blinked and sighed. Defeat warping your mood. “Yeah...”

Papa spun away, put a doctor's coat on, and then turned back, holding a clipboard. “Alright, are you the caregiver for Mr. Rainy Day Bear?”

“Yeah, papa.” You lightened up a little bit.

“Papa? No, I'm Doctor Doctor. Who's papa?”

“You're papaaa!” You pointed at him.

“Okay, okay I'm Doctor Papa.” He repeated, “Are you the caregiver of Mr. Rainy Day Bear?”

You tilted your chin up and did a faux British accent. “Why, yes, sir. He's feeling very, very bad and needs a scan.”

“Ah, yes, I see that on his chart, Caregiver.” He flipped through the scribbled pages on the clipboard. “Let's have. Mr. Bear lay down on the table with his head on the pillow.” Bruce gestured with his hand.

You laid your stuffie down on the pretend bed, placing Mr. Bear’s head gently on the pillow. You patted his hand for good measure.

Doctor Papa put ear plugs into the bear's ears and placed cushy pink headphones on him. The headphones had cat ears on them. Papa raised his voice a little, “Mr. Rainy Day Bear, what kind of music do you like to listen to?”

“Doctor Papa, Mr. Bear is nonverbal.” you said matter of factly. You raised your pointer finger to the sky. “I’ll answer for him. He likes The Wiggles, Papa- I mean Doctor Papa.”

“Alrighty then, The Wiggles album coming right up.” Bruce pulled out his phone, scrolling until he found the right music. “Wiggles rave?”

You nodded, then kissed the tippity top of Rainy Day’s head. “You'll be okay, Mr. Bear.”

Bruce began to push the cardboard bed into the donut sphere. You took a big, big deep breath in.

“BRRRR BEEEP AGHHHH RRRRR DNNNN-”

That breath was immediately released back into the atmosphere. “PAPAAA!” You clutched your chest, laughing so hard your legs felt weak.

Doctor Papa continued, “DRRRRR EEEEEE EHHHHHH MRRRRRR!”

You were rolling on the floor, tears leaving your eyes. How silly of your papa!

“BRRRRRrrrrrr….” Papa rolled the cardboard bed out of the donut. “How are you feeling Mr. Bear?”

“Papa, he can't hear you!”

Bruce laughed. “Oh, yeah, right.” He removed the headphones and then the earplugs. “How is the fantastic Mr. Bear?”

You lifted Mr. Bear’s paws and had him sign to Bruce, ‘I am okay.’

“Perfect! Let's take a look at your scans here…” Papa turned around and scribbled quickly on the paper. When he faced you again, he showed you the scan. It was a poorly constructed scribble of Mr. Rainy Day Bear with a big, biiiiiiiig, heart right in the middle. “I knew it, Lots-Of-Love-itis.”

You unburied the British accent. “Quite good, sir. Well done, Mr. Bear.” You placed a hulk sticker on his paw and hugged him tightly.

Papa kneeled down and asked, “Do you want to practice with you this time?”

You gave it a thought, looking this way and that. “Hmmm, will you make the funny noises again?”

“BEEEEP BRRR-”

“Not right now, Papa!” You shouted with a smile.

“Oh, during the practice?” He waited for you to finish rolling your eyes. “Yeah, I can do that.”

“Okay…” You breathed in, out, in, and out slowly. “Let's practice, Doctor Papa.”

“Big day, lille venn.” Uncle Thor said as he helped tie the back of your hospital gown. He double knotted the strings behind your neck and then the ones by your hip. “There you are. All set.”

You frowned at that, looking at Thor with big, watery eyes. “Not all set.”

“It'll be okay.” His hands (placed on your shoulders) turned you to face him. “Remember your breathing?”

“Mhm.”

“Let's do it together.” He raised his left hand as you did the same. “Climb Yggdrasil, breathe in.”

You traced up your pointer finger.

“Let's sit at the very top, hold your breath.”

You paused at the tip of your finger.

“Slide down the Yggdrasil branches, breathe out.”

You traced down your pointer finger.

Uncle Thor had you repeat that four more times, until the tears dried and the anxiety flowed further away.

“Very good, great job. Let's go see Papa.” He held your hand as he walked you towards the scary room. Worse than the boring room from yesterday.

You turned the corner and there was Papa at the computer. “Hey there! The computer’s prepped and waiting for you, little one.”

You looked at Papa, then Uncle Thor, and then Papa again. “Okay… I'm ready.”

Papa led you to the metal bed. It was rectangular and thin. A sheet was laid out on it so you wouldn't get super cold. There was a thick pillow on the end that had your favorite kitty cat pillowcase on it, which made the corners of your lips turn upwards.

Papa pressed an arrow down bottom next to the donut sphere that brought the bed down to your level. He held your hand as you hopped on and then helped position you onto the center. He guided you through a big, deep breath so that your body was as comfortable on the table as can be instead of tense.

Next came pink headphones with cutesy kitty ears on them and plain boring ear plugs so that your hearing wasn't hurt from the loud noises. Papa already set up your favorite kind of music so when the headphones were placed on you, it was already playing. Bruce furrowed his brow in question, moving his thumb up and down. You replied with a thumbs up. You were ready.

Bruce handed you a panic button to hold just in case and laid a blanket over you to keep you warm. Papa kissed the top of your head and left the room.

You closed your eyes and took a deep breath in and out.

After ten years (minutes), the machine stopped and Papa walked back into the room. He gave you a high five and bunches of praises that you only heard some of because of all the ear protectors. But you could tell by his facial expressions that he was so very proud of you.

He pressed the arrow down button again and the bed began moving to an easier height. You removed the headphones and earplugs yourself, you felt like such a big kid (in the best way)!

You stretched this way and that while making funny noises which made you abrupt into hearty giggles.

Bruce held your hand as you jumped down. Next thing you knew, he was hugging you tightly, picking you up, and spinning you around and around!

“I'm so very, very proud of you, bumble bee!”

You kissed his cheek. “Thank you, Papa!”

Okay, so here we are in the lighthouse portion. Is that an exhaust fan on the lower right? A vent? I've never seen one of those. I wonder what it costs homeowners to have a home completely painted white before they put it on the market.

So, I guess that you go down to the living room. One thing about this home is that it's very angular. So, here's the living room with a fireplace. and the angled wall on the right is the kitchen, so the area alongside the living room must be the dining area?

Remodeled kitchen with the dated oak cabinets. They removed the doors in the middle and replaced the end one with glass inserts to modernize them a bit. (But why didn't they put glass in the other one?)

This is nice. I think it's a bedroom, b/c it's carpeted- the bds. are all carpeted. It opens to the 2nd level deck in the rear.

This room has a fireplace and wood flooring, so it may be a TV room or den. It also has a door to the deck.

I would say that this is the primary bedroom on the 3rd level. It has skylights, a fireplace, a couple of niches and a small door with a storage space.

Ok I honestly don't know if I'll ever finish the other WIP...

I've had this in my files for a while now, got the guts to finish it and so here it is.

Y'know that one painting in Rapunzel's tower? The one with the floating lights?

Yea so I wanted Red Son to have something like that but I thought that the prince is an inventor and while is still technically an artist so I wanted to give his piece a new format.

(art isn't necessarily a 2D format after all)

Then I remembered the wishing machine from the greatest showman.

And I thought like why don't we combine the two?

Like a stained glass wishing machine thingy!

And it makes sense cause with his firey powers and all, I imagine Red could easily melt sand if he ever got access.

So it would make sense that he'd experiment around with stained glass

AND ITS SO FREAKING PRETTY MAN LOOK AT IT

PLS MORE STAINED GLASS CHURCHES SHOULDN'T HAVE ALL THE FUN WHY ISN'T STAINED GLASS USED IN MORE DECOR ITS SUCH AN AESTHETIC!!!!

He wouldn't need a blowtorch or soldering iron cause again, he's got his hands.

I imagine his tools are quite limited in the tower so he'd make his own and for a kid who never left his tower, he's quite the craftsman I imagine!

think about it:

there are just hanging glass pictures everywhere.

You look in his bedroom and instead of the blank skylight you have a bit of a glass rook with shingles missing but replaced by stained glass pictures the prince made over the years

and we have that epic shot in the end of the movie where light streams through all the tiny windows and glass all showing the samadhi flower and Red Son realizes they're the goddamn lost prince!

Pay no mind to the gold ring in his hair, I genuinely don't know what its for.

I was trying to render the hair, made a part too shadowy like something was meant to be there so I just went:

"Slap a ring on it!"

I have to credit my friend (no name drops for privacy's sake) for pushing for the idea for the colorful spots of light

during the performance I was working on, I spent like 50% of my time drawing when I wasn't needed (a lot of the time) and could just work on my projects which was really nice

So after the long-awaited addition of Infants and Ceilings to the game, I realized I should probably update my one furnished build (so far) for these features. Unfortunately I got carried away again and just ended up revamping the whole build from the exterior, to each individual room + some new ones! This version has also been more extensively play-tested over time with all age groups and pets, with some extra fire hazard and accessibility issues addressed.

Quick oneshot thingy I wrote when thinking about my Zoroark au but don’t want to post on AO3 (at least not yet) because it probably isn’t really in the canon as is and just won’t fit with my current plan for posting the au at least for a little bit. But I still wrote it and want to share so that’s why it’s here. It’s basically just Emmet being sad for a little less than 2k words because it’s raining and Ingo liked the rain. Hope you enjoy if you do read it.

Ingo always loved this kind of weather- he would grin as he jumped in puddles as a child and run around in the sprinklers in his Zorua form whenever they went too long without a change of weather. While other people find it to be dreary and somber, Ingo’s eyes always sparkled when the clouds grew darker. Emmet can’t count the amount of times he had been dragged out of the house on a day that all but begged his instincts to curl up somewhere warm and dry by nothing but a pleading look. It didn’t rain too often in their hometown but it was certainly not a dry place, giving Ingo ample opportunity to run around in it.

On the many occasions where he went along, umbrella in hand, he never could bring himself to complain. When Emmet did refuse, Ingo would often still end up out on their porch and Emmet or their dad, Drayden, would stand by the window to make sure he didn’t get in trouble. When they were young they always stuck near the house but that didn’t mean that there wasn’t ample mud to slip on and lashing winds to chill them to the bone.

When they learned that Elesa also enjoyed the rain, the twins started to seek her out when the weather predicted a storm. If it was going to be harsh, they would go to her house. Her living room had a pretty big skylight window that they could watch through while laying on that fluffy gray rug Ingo once stained with grape juice but wasn’t replaced until after the three started their journey. When the weather was light, either Elesa would join Ingo on their patio or driveway or the three of them would walk around town.

Their dad would try to make sure that they were at least dressed properly for the weather but Ingo would at least keep his good down so he could feel each droplet on his head. His hair was always soaked by the time they went inside for a warm drink. Their dad would just leave a towel by the door so no trails of water would be left by his hair or fur.

That was a habit that he didn’t really grow out of, either. After they evolved and their hair became long and dense, it became a bit of an issue. Ingo stopped refusing his hood all the time after he learned that drying it out was a hassle but he would still go without it when he felt like it. Rain is much less common in Nimbasa and it tends to be harsher not often than not when it does rain but that didn’t stop Ingo. Emmet almost rolls his eyes just thinking of all the times that Ingo walked through the rain in his normal clothes, coming home with a grin. He always looked half drowned with his clothes clinging to him but he never seemed to regret it. He would just smile sheepishly as he hung up his clothes, dripping water on their tile floor.

Emmet would always complain about the puddle left at the door and huff about having to sit behind Ingo on the couch with a hairdryer, towel, combs and hair clips but he always helped make sure his twin’s mane of hair wouldn’t trap enough moisture to make him sick. Ingo would just laugh and saying that “sometimes you just have to get soaked to the bone to feel alive” but he would still grumble about how Ingo knew that Emmet would be the one to dry his hair since it got too long for him to be able to do it properly by himself without it taking eons but still went out anyways.

Ingo would just listen as he complained, a slightly smug smile tugging at his lips. No matter what Emmet or their dad had to say about it, neither of them had ever seen Ingo really regret spending time out in the weather in his entire life. There were certainly times that it got frustrating and/or worrying but he never was dissuaded. It last rained months ago and Emmet vividly remembers how he had tugged on Ingo’s hair a little too roughly a few times. It was the middle of the work week, decently late in the night and the fourth time that week that Ingo risked getting himself sick over what Emmet couldn’t help but see as nothing. His hands were growing tired of the repetitive motions, his skin protesting having to get wet so often.

He-

Emmet tries to take a breath, watching droplets of water dance down the glass, but it catches in his throat. His eyes sting as he rapidly blinks away tears, tearing his attention away from the window.

He would give anything in the entire world to be sitting on the couch, carefully coaxing clumps of hair into more workable sections and nearly burning his fingertips with the blow dryer.

Emmet buries his face in his hands with a soft but wounded sound. The pokemon resting nearby perk up, approaching with various concerned but understanding expressions as he follows the sky’s example and starts to cry.

It’s been one month, three days and almost six hours since he last saw his brother. It’s only been a few hours less since anyone has heard from Ingo, the last thing anyone has of him is just a photo of Haxourous sent to their dad and adoptive little sister.

Emmet lets his form shift into a full Zoroark as pokemon begin to pile around him, letting himself understand their soft reassurances.

Ingo went missing once before, right after Emmet first realized he was a Zoroark. He found him within the day, having heard his twin calling for him when out looking with his dad. He had rushed to the clearing to find another Zorua and had immediately understood. It hadn’t been raining then but their dad’s tears had shockingly still left droplets in the twin’s fur.

He’s already ran through the nearby forests howling for his other half until his throat gave in and pushed on until his legs followed suit. It didn’t work this time, the rain logically wouldn’t change that. He lets himself lean into Eelektross and Chandelure, who are the closest to him. The two starters are both warm but he can tell that they, too, find sorrow in the storm.

Emmet ends up sitting in a pile of snuggling pokemon.

In the quiet, he listens to the pitter pattering and he aches. Each drop feels like it burrows into his chest, driving the absence of the voice more familiar to him than his own deeper into his heart with every sound.

He tries not to let himself wait for Ingo to throw the door open, panting but practically glowing even as his hair weighs heavily on his shoulders. He fails.

He knows that he failed when the rain finally stops and he’s left sinking to the ground with a strangled whimper. An hour goes by, the door remains closed, and Emmet can’t help but mourn for a moment. Ingo isn’t dead and he refuses to give up on searching for him but he lets himself grieve for the routine they would have fallen into if Ingo had just been there.

It was clear from the beginning that this wasn’t just another day where Ingo would stare longingly outside while they both stayed dry but part of him had been helpless to stop itself from hoping that Ingo had just gone on a walk like usual. That hope burns at him now that it has been forced to shrivel up completely. Emmet feels like his even skin is too tight as he’s once again reminded of an absence he is barely functioning despite.

He would care for his brother’s sopping wet coat, dry his hair, tend to him after he got himself sick again and dry their floors over and over again until his hands were worn down to the bone if it would mean that Ingo was home.

The sun peeking in through lightened clouds doesn’t care about that. He is still just one of two.
