Hurricane Preparedness – A Comprehensive Guide
Avoid being unprepared for the devastation and mayhem hurricanes cause when they roar through your community. Knowing how to prepare and what to expect during and after a hurricane will help get you quickly on your feet.
New Image Roofing Atlanta assembled this comprehensive guide for hurricane preparedness, damage mitigation, emergency assistance, and recovery.
Hurricane Preparedness
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. The Atlantic basin includes the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico. Severe hurricanes may reach as far inland as Tennessee, northern Georgia, and the Carolinas with damaging winds and potential flooding. Being well-prepared for a hurricane is essential for safeguarding your home and family. Consider the following:
Create a Hurricane Preparedness Plan – Develop a comprehensive hurricane preparedness plan that includes evacuation routes, designated shelter locations, and communication strategies for your family. Practice evacuation drills to ensure everyone is familiar with the plan.
Tip: Carry physical/paper maps and printed emergency contact information (mobile device/internet reception may be interrupted for days or weeks).
Build an Emergency Kit (Go Bag) – Assemble an emergency kit containing essential supplies like water, non-perishable food, medications, first aid items, flashlights, batteries, and important documents. Keep the kit in a readily accessible location.
Identification and Important Documents include:
Personal identification (ID, passport, driver’s license)
Emergency contact information
Insurance information
Medical records and prescriptions
Notarized copies of important documents (insurance, birth certificates, marriage certificates, deeds)
Communication Essentials include:
Fully charged cell phone and charger (with adaptor)
Multiple charged device batteries
Portable power bank
Battery-operated or hand-crank radio
Clothing and Personal Items include:
Multiple changes of clothes (including undergarments and socks)
Sturdy shoes or boots
Hat and gloves
Rain poncho or waterproof jacket
Personal hygiene necessities (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, feminine hygiene products)
Bath and hand towels
Tip: Have enough supplies to sustain your household, including non-perishable food, medication, disinfectants, and pet supplies (in your go bag or car trunk). You may not have access to replenish these supplies for days or weeks following a hurricane.
Secure Your Home – Reinforce your home’s structural integrity by installing hurricane shutters or impact-resistant windows. Trim trees and branches that could pose a threat during high winds. Ensure that doors and windows are securely sealed.
Stay Informed – Monitor weather forecasts and heed evacuation warnings. Stay informed through official channels, weather apps, and emergency broadcasts. Awareness of the storm’s trajectory and intensity is crucial for timely decisions. Consider the following to stay informed:
Download the FEMA app
Sign up for community alerts
Local and cable weather/news channels
Emergency Alert System (EAS) – no sign-up necessary
Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) – no sign-up necessary
Know your Evacuation Zone – You may have to evacuate quickly due to a hurricane (if you live in an evacuation zone). Know your evacuation routes, practice with your household and pets, and identify where you will stay.
Tip: Follow local emergency manager instructions (they work closely with state, local, tribal, and territorial agencies and partners). They will provide the latest recommendations based on the threat to your community and appropriate safety measures.
Potential Roof and Home Hurricane Damages
Wind Damage – Hurricane-force winds can cause significant damage to roofs and homes. Inspect your roof for loose or missing shingles, damaged flashing, and signs of uplift. Secure loose items around your property to prevent them from becoming projectiles.
Flooding – Heavy rainfall associated with hurricanes can lead to severe flooding. Inspect your home for water intrusion, especially in basements and lower levels. Address any drainage issues and consider installing a sump pump.
Storm Surge – Coastal areas are particularly susceptible to storm surges, which can result in widespread flooding. If you live in a coastal region, elevate your home on pilings or consider installing flood barriers to mitigate storm surge impacts.
Structural Damage – Hurricanes may cause structural damage to homes, including leaning walls, foundation issues, and compromised support structures. Conduct a thorough inspection after the storm and address any structural concerns promptly.
Post-Hurricane Emergency Services
Check with your local emergency management department, volunteer agencies, or call your local 2-1-1. The FEMA Helpline 800-621-3362 and the American Red Cross 800-733-2767 may be able to provide additional assistance and referrals. Consider seeking the following emergency services:
Evacuation Centers – After a hurricane, local authorities may establish evacuation centers to provide shelter, food, and basic amenities. Follow official instructions and seek refuge in designated evacuation centers if necessary.
Note: If you evacuated, return home only when officials say it is safe.
Medical Assistance – Emergency medical services (EMS) will be available to provide medical assistance after a hurricane. Seek professional medical attention for injuries and health-related issues.
Utility Restoration – Report utility outages, gas leaks, and electrical issues to utility companies. Avoid using damaged utilities until they have been inspected and deemed safe by professionals.
Community Support – Local community organizations and support services may offer assistance, including food distribution, temporary housing, and essential supplies. Stay informed about available resources in your area.
Post-Hurricane Home and Roof Repair
Document Damages – After the hurricane passes, document all damages to your home and roof by taking photographs and narrated videos (multiple images can be extracted from video footage). This documentation will be crucial when filing insurance claims and seeking repairs.
Tip: Take pictures and shoot video footage during fair weather conditions that establish your home’s condition before a severe weather event.
Contact Your Insurance Provider – Notify your insurance company promptly after the hurricane and provide them with a detailed description of the damages along with the documentation you have collected. Initiate the claims process as soon as possible.
Select Reputable Contractors – Choose experienced and reputable contractors for repairs. Obtain multiple quotes, check references, and verify credentials. Ensure the contractors are licensed in your state, insured, and bonded.
Coordinate with Insurance Adjuster – Work closely with your insurance adjuster and contractors during the inspection process. Ensure that all damages are thoroughly assessed and included in the insurance claim.
Timely Repairs – Once the insurance claim is approved, schedule repairs promptly. Address structural issues, roof damage, and any other necessary repairs to restore your home to its pre-hurricane condition.
Due to extensive damages caused by hurricanes, keep numbers/contact information to trusted service providers, including the following:
Roofing Contractor
Tree Service
Fencing Contractor
Flood Mitigation Company
Moving or Pack Out Company
Restoration Contractor
Towing Service
Electrician
HVAC
Plumber
Tip: Avoid using out-of-town or unfamiliar service providers, as many are storm chasers and will not provide or honor service warranties. Instead, seek licensed, bonded, and insured contractors.

We have some announcements and I will try and be brief he needs to maintain his charge on the phone
-we have about 50 people in the neighborhood who have to go yes to help make this happen and they're a bunch of bums and they're all stuck by a little teeny flood that's how good at kidnapping they are I don't want to deal with this s*** anymore they're little assholes who are in the way and cause our son distress emotional suffering pain and cause Hera the same it's horrible and she's in a terrible situation too
-you want to play checkers with her remotely I think it's a good idea it says I might have to let her win LOL she's smiling about the last part
-we have some announcements there is a flood here and our son is flooded in he's stuck he put it out there he sent it to Ken and Ken got going and the big guys and Justin and they saw Jason drive by and he's still there and he thinks it's going to flood worse and he's trying to say he's going door to door and stuff like that but he wants to wreck the sewer and he wants to try and pick him up and kidnap him and we need him out and the trumpsters next door trying and we need them out the jackasses
-there's a certain number of people who are here who need to go out
-we have major flooding on the West Coast and they're all stuck and they're just sitting there and I can't really do anything but Tallahassee we have a huge battle it's going on right now and it's going on for the next 45 minutes and then we're battling in Georgia and those places were full of morlock and they're in the south over now Alabama and we think hurricane heist might be today it's going on and one of the Giants might be actually Brad as they're attacking them right now and that's the empire
-several other things happening here and one of them is we are looking out for our son but the biggest thing is that these people have not had it and they like this kind of thing and the sun doesn't have any resources so we need these idiots out of here and he's been telling us that they're out to lunch
-the black ship fleet has scattered the last we checked are only a few thousand left but there are a thousand Mile ships and about -5,000 MI and the big 4 11,000 and the 15,000. The stone ships are about to scatter there's less than a million there's probably about $250, 000 they're showing signs of massive fatigue and the miscellaneous are gone Tommy F went for ships and everyone's fighting them on it they are also going after these ships that caused the storms and with the vengeance and there's a lot of Little ships at them probably a million total ships and that's a lot and these ships don't have defenses for that the getting buzzed they're getting stuff dropping on them all the time they're going to be out of energy for the shields and they're going to be forced to land and several movies will start one of them goes off and rips Singapore apart in a threat for fuel we believe that's Tommy have and another one threatens DC and to incinerate them historical buildings and people for fuel both of them end up in a fairly deep space and the capture Voyager for protection and somehow escaped the ships I'm thinking fast ships and go back to it trying to get voyager's message and tapes and information
-Jason is down Trump is hit pretty good and there's going to be repercussions and ramifications of what they tried the clones are up there trying still to take over the governorship and we are moving in and taking over large areas all in and around Tallahassee downtown area and eventually will train them dry and take over the government and Mac will install someone probably a minority more lock
-this morning news there is more we are having difficulty with the people in punta Gorda are moving teams in now to extract them permanently and bring them to prison if they escape we'll put them back until they leave the stupid state there's going to be some new laws and they're going to start outlines some individuals outlaw and they're probably weaker ones and we'll see how it works
-we heard in a meeting this morning that our son is not that bad of a person and he's just trying to make it he's looking at the water was upset I started to try and work by telling Ken and was thinking about the bicycle but the water's too deep and some other stuff they decided that they're being very harsh and doing what these idiots want which is going round and round and getting nothing for them so they're trying to get these idiots out of here and they're causing them a lot of problems this morning they're offering a lot of reasons to come pick them up and they are and we're joining them we have to
-there are other side effects of the storm there's several people who are out of line and in need of a disciplining and it's going to go on momentarily and we just mentioned that but what we're saying is they have some individuals who are targeted Trump Dan his son Jason Tommy F definitely they are in for a treat because they are targeted for specific treatment and it's very intense
-there's a few other things basically they are putting on hold laying off the sheriff no they're not they're going to try for 100 and they're going to try for 30 and the police department
-there are some other things that they are using their head to try and do and that's the people out here who are Max are saying we need to straighten this place out it's a mess and they want to check on the drainage because everything is flooded and just sitting there now there are some power energy people driving around and they're looking for any lines that are in Jeopardy or down and there was a transformer last night but they fixed that this morning
-there are other vehicles driving around one of them is from the state and they're looking for people and it's a police vehicle and they came down here to his neighborhood and we're not allowed on the street and they're going to be blocked and arrested
-was sick of seeing this crap was sick of these people talking about it sick of them doing it but we have to do it and announce it they're trying all the time to kidnap him so I can threaten other people but they're doing is threatening us and we're going to go hog wild on them there if you want things to talk about there's a war down below
-there were five bases last night and there will be four shortly it started hammering on them again the other three bases are under assault and they're trying to raid and if they can't they will hammer on them the force is getting bigger and bigger and the clones are getting a smaller and smaller
-the cities in the Midwest are full of clones no they're down below and they tried to get ready half of them are gone our forces in the Max and foreigners went in and we're claiming the areas several trucks coming down on Sun Street there electrical trucks there are two a couple pickup trucks and a town truck we know what they're doing there's some lines that need tending to and it's good but the cities out in the middle areas that are under siege due to our son's announcement it's like a four way and more locker going back out there and you're right there were 3% of them where are these idiots coming from it's time for them to leave there's there's too many of them for them to be only 3% and people saying they're coming from the island okay so we don't have that cordoned off so we should wage war down there and shut down the hell up and we're sending troops down and take care of this problem who needs his loud mouth losers
-there's a massive number of them here and we have to come in and pull them out I'm going to do that now we're going to also publish there's a couple other big events there is a war developing in Georgia and Alabama with the morlock and we're sending huge numbers of troops and tons of troops are coming down here to clear out the idiots that are remaining 85% of their areas according to off this afternoon it's going to be 95%. He wants us to hurry up and close out the as many as we can so we can get them up north it's going to be an issue he's actually right and they're trying to filter in and we're going to do that now and we're going to hold the areas and Miami too needs to be called off with some serious stuff it's always where they come from they're going ahead and doing it now and we see them grinning but so what.
Another area are the huge ships they're engaging them and out of the four 11,000 mi ships there are three that are damaged and on fire about 1/4 of each of the ships and it's very bad for them and they are going to evacuate shortly and be demolished none of them will be alive so we'll be captured of course but and the fourth one is doing okay but won't for long and the big huge one is getting hit quite a bit they're both they're all going to be out pretty soon including the stone ships it turned out to be less of a fight than we thought well it's starting at least and they're blowing smoke on the last issue it's quite a fight and we need a lot more ships up there and they're calling them constantly and they're showing up and it's a call to for more and they're still at the stone chips and they're still chasing the Black ships however a lot of ships came off the black ship adventure and the stone chips are almost out and they're actually down to probably about 20 million and they're hammering on them they don't have any more time and we think they'll be down to 10 million by noon and the Black ships should mostly rounded up and the other ships will refuel tank up and stuff but this is going to take a while not much longer he says it's only hours I'm not even days and it's true
Thor Freya
We have to watch this stuff these people are idiots and they're easy to stop and the max won't be so easy and they have a huge fleet and it's a problem because to stop Tommy F we had to eliminate almost all of his fleet I don't think Max would be that unreasonable it's probably not true and at this point he's acting like a warlock our son says, we agreed so we're going to gear up for it and get ready for it

The Usher Foundation 1: Route 66
Hey, this is a fanfiction centered on the Magnus Institute's American counterpart, the Usher Foundation. It takes place in another universe - neither the one we know and love from the Magnus Archives series nor [spoilers] where they sent the fears, but a third one, that also has the fears. I know that feels confusing but I've got my canonical reason for that planned out, so if this first installment does well then you'll get plenty of that intricate lore.
[Smartphone recorder chimes]
[ARCHIVIST clears his throat]
If you're a researcher doing a paper on spookies, congratulations, you've found the very first Usher Foundation audio statement. I'm Donovan Ellis...[sigh]...'Chief Experience Organizer' of the Usher Foundation, Washington D.C. The boss just did a pretty substantial reorganization of the place - "..needs a hip coat of paint!" he told us, which includes me dusting off the statements and putting them on the cloud. In audio form; for reasons he danced around until I gave up. On the subject...
Statement of Nicholas Sill, regarding the highway between Amarillo and Albuquerque. Originally given November 17th, 2009. Audio recorded July 4th, 2022. Statement begins.
--
I learned to drive at 16, and I haven't stopped since. I'm from New York - upstate, not the city - and every year when the weather gets nippy I hop in the car and drive south down to Savannah, Georgia, then west (and north) all the way to San Francisco, stopping in my favorite cities and landmarks along the way. People think I'm insane to go all that way every year, but I never felt more free than on the road.
Until this year's trip. It was going great at first. I had a great kebab in Atlanta, saw some live music in Nashville, and after hanging out with a girl in Amarillo I was feeling on top of the world as I slid back onto the highway. The first odd thing came just before that, though. I was at an intersection, and a man dressed in a noticeably badly fitting suit was on the side of the road next to a stall that read 'DIRT OF GOD $1 / jar'. I thrive on weird social interactions, personally. Gives me stories to tell when I get home. So I rolled down my window and caught his attention, asking him what 'dirt of god' was. He shuffled awkwardly over to my car; he had very stiff legs. He was bald on the top of his head, but the hair growing on the sides was shoulder-length. He was very, very sunburned. He offered his hand, and I shook it with a smile. Up close, I noticed that his suit wasn't just too large, it was sagging. All his pockets were bulging, filled to the brim with something. He told me: 'God blessed that dirt much as he blessed this whole country'. He said it so earnestly. It felt folksy and quaint. Cozy. So I bought a jar and went on my way. I was excited for a good souvenir, but I regretted it barely a half hour later. It stunk. Like hell. I cracked the windows to help it waft out, but it barely made a dent in the, just, thickness of it. It was the smell of dirt after rain without the nostalgia. Without the fresh plants to accompany it. Just the desert. I opened my window, all the way this time, and chucked the jar.
It wasn't long before the haze started. At first, I assumed a gust of wind had blown up some dust. And then I thought a dust storm must be forming. But that wasn't it. It was a dust devil, a little tornado of sand and dirt, following alongside my car even as I accelerated faster and faster. But it span slow. Very slow, grains of it tickling the paint off my car. It then expanded gradually, not just twisting beside but twisting around. It covered my windshield, so I couldn't keep driving. I pulled over and lay down in my backseat, waiting for it to pass.
But I couldn't rest. What had once been a gentle spinning became a terrifying whirlwind. It whipped against the windows, against the roof and doors, clanging unbelievably loud. Worse, it started to blow through the air conditioner, bringing with it the smell. It wasn't just harassing me from the outside, it was choking me from the inside. The car groaned as it became gorged with dry dust, and even through my shallow breathing I realized that the car was now actively sinking. The sunlight could barely be seen through the windshield, and I watched in horror as the brown darkness rose from the bottom all the way to the top, eating the little remaining light as my car buckled and dented inwards. The windows shattered, and dirt flooded my car, my gasp of shock becoming my last clear breath for a long, long while. I crawled wildly through the ground. Every time I thought I'd gotten through a window I felt another piece of the interior, somehow turning myself around back into my flooded car over and over again, still sinking.
I barely remember what happened next. I was in a stupor of...starvation. And there was no air. But the next thing I knew I was being pulled from the ground and back into the open air. The guy who saved me called himself 'Watchman Kohr', and he gave me a ride to the airport. I meant to fly back to New York, but I decided to come here. I'm not ready for my yearly vacation to be over, even if I can't even think about getting into a car without hyperventilating. I think I'll catch a train back to New York.
--
Statement ends. The enigmatic 'Watchmen' make an appearance here, the completely un-researchable organization due to their shared name with a popular graphic novel. What we know is that they operate all over North America in apparently equal frequency, and that several people who've encountered them - Mr. Sill excluded - note their eyes as their most well-defined feature.
I'll be honest, I would be tempted to file Mr. Sill's experience under 'sudden psychotic break paired with odd weather', but the presence of a Watchman gives it more weight. I had Yvonne and Logan follow up on Mr. Sill, who - according to his Facebook - seems to have moved to New York City, and hasn't left since he got there in early 2010.
Recording ends.

Vinyl Patio Enclosures: A Stylish and Affordable Solution for Year-Round Enjoyment
A vinyl patio enclosure is the perfect way to protect your outdoor living space while still allowing you to enjoy the outdoors. Whether your backyard is just a place to relax in the sun or you have an active lifestyle filled with sports and entertaining, a vinyl patio enclosure adds style and functionality to your home.
When you're ready to enjoy your patio year-round, a vinyl patio enclosure is an affordable and stylish solution. It'll protect your furniture and other items from the elements, add value to your home, and create a more private space for entertaining.
Why Choose Vinyl?
Vinyl is one of the most popular materials used in outdoor living because it's durable enough for even harsh climates like those found in Georgia. In fact, vinyl will last longer than wood. Plus, it won't splinter or rot like wood does when exposed to moisture over time.
Unlike aluminum or steel enclosures that require extensive maintenance every year (like painting), vinyl can be cleaned with soap and water and easily wiped down with a damp cloth after a dust storm or heavy rain.
The benefits of vinyl patio enclosures are many:
Protects your patio from weather and bugs.
Allows you to use your patio year-round.
Allows you to enjoy your patio in any weather, including rain, snow, and windy days.
Can be installed quickly and easily.
Adds living space to your home.
Provides more security and privacy to your living spaces.
How Vinyl Patio Enclosures Work
Vinyl patio enclosures are a stylish and affordable solution for year-round enjoyment. They serve as a barrier between your home and the elements while providing shade and shelter from the sun. Vinyl patio enclosures can be installed over existing patios, decks, or porches to create an enclosed space that can be used for entertaining friends or relaxing in privacy.
The price of a vinyl patio enclosure depends on the size and complexity of the enclosure. A small, basic enclosure can cost as much lower than an extension on your home. That is why getting an estimate from a quality team like ours at Cool Screens of Georgia is essential to budgeting and planning your next enclosure project.
Styling Options for Vinyl Patio Enclosures
Vinyl patio enclosures are available in a variety of styles, so you can choose the one that fits your home and budget best. If you have an outdoor space that's perfect for entertaining, but lacks good insulation from the elements, consider buying an enclosure with French doors or windows on both sides. This will allow plenty of light and airflow into your room while still keeping it private from passersby.
If money is no object and you want something truly unique (or if you just love glass), there are many different types of glass enclosures available on the market today-including panels that slide open automatically at the push of a button.
Cleaning and maintenance is easy for vinyl patio enclosures. Vacuum and dust regularly, then clean with a mild soap solution. Use a soft cloth to wipe down the enclosure and rinse off with a garden hose on hot days or in direct sunlight if you want to speed up drying time. You can also use a small amount of mildewcide (available at hardware stores) every few months to prevent mold growth on your enclosure's surface.
Conclusion
Vinyl patio enclosures are an excellent choice for homeowners who want to protect their outdoor living spaces from the elements and enjoy them year-round. They're also affordable and stylish, so there's no reason not to invest in one if you have the space for it.
Look around our storefront today and experience the beauty and relaxation a quality enclosure will bring to your home. We look forward to outfitting your Georgia property with a stunning new space for reading, dining, or just enjoying a summer rain shower without getting wet!

While me and my friend, @disneyfan50 , are still messing around with our Owl House inspired AUs and changing some stuff with season 2 still coming out, decided to maybe at least explain the character roles in the AUs, this one being The Leopard House, an AU on disneyfan’s Maddie Bayor series, my Cassie Morris series, Nicole Morgan series, Helen Hyde series and Next Heroes series:
*Andromeda ‘Maddie’ Baylor- also known as the Leopard Woman due to her cursed form, Maddie is among the residents of the Isles that hasn’t joined a coven and refuses to, preferring her freedom over the covens but this comes with the cost off the emperor’s coven constantly chasing her and she ends up having to survive on selling human junk from the human realm, but one of these days, she ends up with a human running through her portal door after her book, changing Maddie’s life from that point onwards.
*Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Morris- a human from the human realm, Cassie despite her best attempts to be a good kid, soon found it hard and as a result, got into antics that resulted in her book report including real snakes and fireworks and as a result, ends up being sent to a camp to help with her social cues and such, but she never shows up as instead, she runs after a Gryphon for her book back and in the process, finding herself in a world right out of that book.
*Perseus ‘Percy’- once a normal witch in the Sea coven, Percy ended up crossing the wrong enemy and ended up cursed and as a result, ended up on the run until he ran into Maddie while she was on the run from the emperors coven and they have been friends ever since, as Percy tries to act intimidating to no avail in present.
*Spot- the demon that resides within the house, Spot is the Leopard house in some sense and therefore, roams the house and sometimes goes beyond it, but mainly resides within the door and despite coming off as creepy and annoying a lot, he does mean well.
*Tess- Maddie’s Palisman that she made out of palisman wood while younger, Tess is a gryphon palisman that when not being used by Maddie and Cassie, is roaming the house or stealing human junk when Maddie sends Tess to do so.
*Georgia Kendler- Maddie’s half-sister, Georgia works for the Emperor’s coven and has done so since she was a Hexside student, but prefers to not talk about how she got into it as instead, she has recently risen to Coven Leader status, but after losing a fight to her sister, she finds herself with the task of capturing her sister with a promise Georgia can’t refuse: her sister’s curse being cured finally.
*Helen Hyde- a Hexside student, Helen has dealt with torment from former childhood friend Nicole ever since their falling out, ranging from being about her being a latebloomer to her failing the Combat track, but things change when she decides to sneak a human into school one day as she is finally moved to the Plant track and also gets a new friend in the form of the human, Cassie.
*Alfred Russey- a Hexside student, Alfred is known to excel at everything in his chosen track off Automations, but is also know for his love for the human realm and its treasures and therfeore, is happy to befriend the human, Cassie, when Helen sneaks her in one day.
*Nicole Morgan- the youngest of the Morgan children, Nicole can often come off as cold and reserved to people at first, and due to her upbringing, viewed former friend, Helen, as weak, especially when she failed in the track Nicole excelled at, aka Combat. But after some run ins with the human, she finds herself changing for the better slowly and finds herself not only fixing her friendship with Helen, but also slowly falling for the human.
*Phobos and Deimos Morgan- the eldest of the Morgan children, they can often come off as mischief only and only ever seem to take their Necromancy Track seriously, and when it comes to Nicole, they vary between getting along or turning nasty if Nicole tells on them.
*Gale Driver- a student in Hexside, Gale due to his family connections and such, never really gets to suffer consquiences when he decides to pick on people, especially when he targets Helen, but he still is the schools sports star and excels at the Storm Coven.
*Jonah Hyde- despite sharing similar surnames, he and his bullying victim, Helen, are not related and he always is by Gale’s side but he still excels at the Oracle Track inbetween.
*Ares Morgan- the father of Nicole, Phobos and Deimos, he is known to be extremely harsh with his children and only expecs the best from them, especially Nicole, and is in the Combat Coven while owning and running Morgan Industries.
*Emperor Luke- the ruler of the Isles, Luke came into powers by unknown means and in the process of his rule, installed the coven system, with it being clear any wayward witches would be punished and serving Kronos, he intends to fulfill the plans of Kronos that includes the Human Realm.
*Beryl- the right hand woman off the emperor, Beryl is loyal to the coven and is willing to do anything to help fulfil their plans, but does dislike the Golden Guard when she takes jobs from Beryl slowly.
*The Golden Guard/Cara Wallace- the emperor’s loyal guard who is always by his side, her origins are unknown outside of the fact that she is a child prodigy and always does a job well for the emperor, but only starts to doubt their plans as she has run ins with the human.

In 2015, she signed Jack Zimmermann, and the day after he graduated, Jack moved the 3,000 miles from Samwell to Seattle.
Now it's 2020, and Jack is happy. He loves his team. He only has one regret, one reason why part of him will always wish he'd signed somewhere on the east coast...

This is the second part of a series I am calling ‘The Post-Apocalypse With Michael Sheen’ I know the name gives away the main plot point but nonetheless I hope you enjoy! This is a gift for @lunarmultishine
BEGINNING/NEXT
o((>ω< ))o (✿◠‿◠) (~o ̄3)~
You step out of what you think is a broom closet with a mirror installed in it. You’re wearing an oversized hoodie that Michael gave you and some slacks that smell faintly of blood.
“Forgive me for the lack of sizable clothing, haven’t had to run out for more in a while,” Michael explains. “We’ll do so soon however,”
You shrug. “It’s better than nothing,”
“Very true,” Michael agrees. “Now, since you’re dressed, would you like me to show you around the place? It’s not the prettiest place, nowhere is after what happened. But it’s far better than when you first arrived, we even have sheep now!” He grins widely. “But of course, you can stay here longer if you want or need,” He adds seriously.
You feel safe in this room, or at least reasonably safe. Part of you doesn’t want to leave, fearing what could be outside that door. But a more reasonable part of you wins over, nothing all that bad could happen. Not as bad as what might have happened to cause you to be here.
“I’ll be okay, show me around,” You smile a bit.
“Spectacular!” Michael exclaims, bouncing up from his seat. “Let’s go, shall we?”
You gesture for him to go ahead, which he does, opening the door for you as he passes through.
You stare for a moment, you don’t know what to make of Michael. He’s nice, but a bit strange as well. All the same you’ve grown a bit attached over the hours you had spent with him.
Michael looks at you quizzingly, you blink and shrug the space dust out of your brain. You smile and follow him out of the room.
-
You laugh as Michael picks up another lamb and comes over to introduce it to you.
“This is Wilde!” Michael grins. “He’s a troublemaker, gets out all the time. Hardly can catch the boy,”
You scratch Wilde’s soft head and Michael sets him down. The fluffy thing immediately darts off to the rest of the flock, bleating up a storm.
“See what I mean?” Michael laughs.
“Mm. So, naming sheep after famous authors, hobby of yours?” You tease gently.
“I’ll have you know that famous authors, especially dead ones, were a big part of my life for a while,” Michael retorts.
“Really? When did they stop?” You ask.
“Oh, they haven’t stopped, not really, just not the most important thing right now,” Michael said.
You nod, and stare off into the fields. It’s so quiet and peaceful out here, but there’s a feeling in your gut that something bad happened. You can’t think of much else that would end you up here, waking up in a strange basement attached to medical equipment.
“Oi! Michael! Quit ya staring at the sheep and get some food!”
You jump at the unfamiliar voice and for some reason towards Michael.
“Ha, don’t worry my dear friend,” Michael sets his hand on your shoulder. “That’s just my friend David,”
You relax slightly.
“Oh, I scared you huh?” David comes over to you. “Sorry about that, didn’t realize Michael was fawning over his children with someone,”
Michael gasped, offended. “I beg your pardon!”
“What?” David smiled. “Can’t tell me that isn’t true, you love them more than anything,”
Michael gaped for a moment and looked at you. “Can you believe him?”
“Collins is the favorite child right?” You teased.
David doubled over in laughter as Michael looked at you betrayed.
“How could you? I trusted you,” Michael said dramatically.
You couldn’t very well answer him as you had also broken down into a fit of laughter as David tried to come back to his senses.
“Alright, alright, you’ve had your fun,” Michael muttered. “We should be going, Georgia’s cooking is to die for,”
Michael starts walking and you follow, David trailing behind.

Hi everyone. It has been a while since I posted fan fiction, but I still have lots of ideas. No major drama or long story lines; just snippets from Cruz’s early career in the Piston Cup series. This fic was inspired by my cats who aren’t shy about letting me know when breakfast should be served.
Alarm Clock
Cruz sped past Jackson Storm in a classic slingshot move.
“Slowing down, Storm?” she yelled as she passed Number 20.
She saw the race official holding the checkered flag a hundred meters ahead.
Tap.
Number 51 ignored it. She couldn’t lose her focus so close to the finish line.
Tap. Tap.
“No!! Not now!” she said through gritted teeth.
TAP!!
Cruz jerked awake, opening her eyes. In the dim light of the bedroom, she could just make out the shape of a quadcopter racing drone perched on her hood.
The blue and yellow racer sighed. “You could have waited until I took the checkered flag.”
The nine-inch long drone, her task completed, started her propellers and began flying circles above Cruz’s roof. At that moment, the cell phone alarm sounded.
5:50 am.
Cruz grunted. “Hamilton, reset alarm for 5:50 am tomorrow.”
“Alarm is reset,” Hamilton replied.
Cruz looked up at the drone buzzing above her. “Why do I even need a wake-up alarm? You have been beating Hamilton everyday for a week.”
She rolled out of her bed, stretching her joints on the way. It felt great. She drove over to the source of morning light: the room’s floor-to ceiling window. A beautiful view awaited her: pre-dawn at Fireball Beach. She smiled. She never thought that she would sleep in the Resident Racer’s Suite of the Rusteze Racing Center.
A pet project of Sterling meant to recruit elite racers to Rusteze, the suite was beyond posh. Memory foam beds, voice-activated appliances, TVs with 5K screens, room service, etc., but Cruz’s favorite was the view of Fireball Beach, the place where Lightning McQueen first taught her how to race, though neither of them realized it at the time. The suite was a nice change from her trailer. Yes, Tex Dinoco provided a very comfortable home on wheels, but it did become a bit confining after weeks on the road.
Since it was located between their last track, Georgia, and their next track, Pennsylvania. Lightning wanted to spend a couple of nights at the center in order to restock the haulers. He also decided that Dinoco’s car chief should give Cruz a check-up at a first class racing facility.
A blue form blurred past her eyes, breaking Cruz out of her reverie.
“Okay, okay, Calypso” she said to the agitated drone. “Fully charged and ready to fly.”
Smiling, Cruz turned away from the picture window. The Dinoco racer called the racing drone to settle on her roof. “Gotta save your batteries for the morning workout.”
Calypso compiled and both owner and drone left the suite’s bedroom.
McQueen had been skeptical of her acquiring a pet, especially something as hyperactive as a racing drone. He feared a pet would be too much of a distraction for a Piston Cup rookie. Cruz pointed out that a racing drone would be the perfect pet for her. The two of them could train together since Cruz would enter Calypso into drone races during the Piston Cup off-season. Her mentor changed his mind when he learned that drones carried digital cameras. Calypso transformed from pet to training assistant. So Cruz got her drone, a top-of-the-line, competition-eligible racer.
Cruz drove through the suite’s living room and entered the private elevator, yet another perk of the position. Once they reached the ground floor, Cruz passed by the kitchens to reach the double doors leading to the “backyard”, a massive open space behind the building. At the insistence of both Strip Weathers and Lightning McQueen, Tex Dinoco installed two oval tracks, one dirt, one asphalt. The two Piston Cup champions felt the trainees needed to get their tires dirty sometimes.
The double doors slid open, letting the cool summer morning air flow over Cruz’s body. Calypso broke training and leapt from the racer's roof heading for the tracks.
“Hey! Wait for me!” Cruz laughed as she followed close behind.

What Do You Really Want Out Of Retirement?
There were a number of various other points which arose, that a lot of would not consider. The entryway gate, situated in an instead secluded location, was on a regular basis broken by those wanting to get involved in the area to fish.
The contract was that the citizens all contribute to fix such things, including any road patching. They were out any public water system however the advancement had their very own. So his water costs was greater than all his other utilities combined and also remained to increase with every piece of repair required. As the years previous as well as his budget extended to the limit, he burnt out of fishing which was obstructed by stopping working wellness. His spouse started to be extremely worried over her own welfare if he need to pass away before her. His pension plan check would certainly discontinue as well as she would be limited to her own social security check which would be absolutely poor to maintain that house. So they decided to sell and move back near where they were. After needing to take a loss on his financial investment, he ultimately marketed your home moved home into a tiny but comfortable area. Both are currently deceased but their retirement demonstrates how one can end up being dissatisfied, particularly if funds are a problem.
Those who are well-off enough to do anything they please, need no recommendations from me. And, the fact is, possibly no person needs my guidance. Yet, I have been retired currently for eleven years, with really minimal finances. However having been accustomed to surviving on restricted funds, we have been content as well as satisfied. We acquired an older reconditioned home in requirement of some repair work. We painted it ourselves, scraped and fixed the old home windows as well as put in new glass where broken, we mounted storm windows and doors and also had professionals protect your home as well as mount a new metal roofing. I had a chain link fence installed around the back yard and one side for the benefit of my dogs. We have delighted ourselves with gardening, feeding birds, and also around as soon as per year, choosing a couple of days in the hills or in Florida. My other half is a devoted indoor residence plant fiend, as well as I invest my spare moments on my computer system either researching churches or the Holy bible, as well as creating articles. Several may assume that is the dullest life you can envision. If you really feel that way, then it probably would be for you. Yet let me clarify why we like it.
We are totally free to do what we want, limited only by money. We can rest late if we want, which I do not. I'm up by 4:00 A.M. most early mornings but occasionally, I may really feel rather tired and also lay there for an added half hr or so, quietly giving thanks to God for the comforts and pleasantries He has actually blessed me with. My spouse is an evening individual as well as she usually stays in bed up until regarding 7:00. If we wish to go out for lunch or supper (and also funds are readily available), we go. If our chores are done, and also we have absolutely nothing taking place, often we sit on our front porch swing and pay attention to the birds thanking us for our feed as well as water we stay out for them. Some Summer evenings we can hear the melancholy telephone call of whippoorwills distant. Regularly, we will certainly take a clear out of community right into the rambling roadways via the hilly countryside, especially during Spring as well as Loss. I am content. I have claimed a lot of this to reveal you that amazing leisure activities are not the same as peaceful and also serene surroundings, a minimum of for me. I can not envision buying a mobile home as well as taking to the road. Possibly I might contend state, 60 years of ages or so. But driving or riding currently, just kiiiils me.
When you consider retirement, you seriously require to take into consideration exactly how few years you might have remaining to be in good health, that will allow you to do those points you prepare. So let me do a marketing job on you for a location to retire in, as well as specifically those of you who will certainly have to watch their expenditures. Piedmont, Alabama. My better half and I happened to have been raised below. That is one factor we love it, yet let me inform you why you would additionally.
Piedmont once was a growing little town with a significant fabric mill, 3 garment manufacturing plants as well as a number of various other services, a producer of metal items, showcases, and so on, as well as a rather huge maker of truck seats. This was prior to every one of our fair trade agreements with Bangladesh, Timbuktu or whoever. All the garment plants have actually shut as well as the huge textile manufacturing facility has actually folded. Even the Showcase building contractor is considering moving away. So if you are trying to find job, stay where you are. However if you are looking for a rather clinically depressed community with lots of old folk (like us), low real estate tax, really reasonable energies, ultra economical nice housing and also plenty of it. This need to please you. Let me detail a few of the good ideas regarding Piedmont. (by the way, they aren't paying me one dime to say all this stuff.).
Piedmont lies near the eastern state line surrounding Georgia. It is about 80 miles east, northeast from Birmingham, Alabama. It is about 90 miles due west from Atlanta, Georgia. Less miles than either of those to Rome, Georgia, Gadsden, Alabama and also Anniston Alabama, all within 25 to 40 miles as well as of adequate dimension for a lot of any demands. Somewhere around 40,000 each. 16 miles northwest from us is the Weiss Dam as well as lake on Coosa river where water sports are available, it is asserted to be the Crappie capitol of the UNITED STATE Boating, fishing as well as water winter sports are wonderful. There are outstanding sightseeing and tour and tourist attractions within driving range. Chattanooga, Tennessee has to do with 90 miles northeast, where the many views of Search hill and various other rate of interests are. They have a wonderful new aquarium, an old time heavy steam engine train through capitals, riverboat, and also atop Search mountain is the

TES III - Morrowind: Environmental Storytelling at its Finest
You are a new-fangled adventurer, fresh off the ship. Eager to explore the newly-discovered, alien world, you buy some supplies at the town merchant and set off immediately. But on the very outskirts of the harbour town, barely few hundred meters from the last house, something completely unexpected happens. You hear a heart-rending scream, and then, out of thin air, a human being appears some 30 meters above your head. Of course, the laws of gravity apply even on this fantastical world, and the inevitable happens. Next thing you know, the poor person is laying dead in front of you. Who was he? Why did he fall from the sky? Would it be a criminal offense to wear his expensive robes?

For many, including the author of this essay, this was probably the first time they have experienced environmental storytelling. Henry Jenkins says that “environmental storytelling creates the preconditions for an immersive narrative experience in at least one of four ways: spatial stories can evoke pre-existing narrative associations; they can provide a staging ground where narrative events are enacted; they may embed narrative information within their mise-en-scene; or they provide resources for emergent narratives. In other words, this time Bart Stewart’s, it “characterises environmental storytelling as something that “shows the final outcome of a sequence of events, then it invites players to make up their own stories about what happened to cause that outcome”. Which is exactly what happened in the first paragraph.
The game discussed is the third rendition of The Elder Scrolls saga, Morrowind. Released in 2002, it jump-started the popularity of this series. It is also the installment that is universally celebrated by fans of the Elder Scrolls series as the best one so far. The reasons for this can be manifold, but an average fan is most likely not going to mention its ultra-realistic graphics or ground-breaking combat system. Admittedly, compared to other titles in that era of game development, it left a lot to be desired. The game was riddled with bugs, the visuals were slightly outdated even on launch, and the game mechanics were clunky at best. But it did not matter at all, because the game excelled in other aspects, primarily world-building, an attribute closely tied to environmental storytelling. Indeed, without it, it would have never reached its popularity. “Worldbuilding will never save a bad game, but it is an element that elevates good games to something greater”, Josh Bycer says. This is, objectively, the strongest part of the game, and probably of the whole Elder Scrolls series. But it is Morrowind that resonates with the fans of the series the most. Bethesda, the creators of the series, were never fans of hand-holding, and Morrowind shows that. Instead of a modern GPS system with a minimap showing all the quest locations, the player is provided with a written description of their destination, usually with some landmark being mentioned to further narrow the area that the player has to explore in order to arrive at their point of interest. Not only that this makes careful worldbuilding a crucial part of the game, without which the player would not even be able to progress, but it opens door to environmental storytelling.
There is a moment in the game which serves as a great representation of such conjunction. The island of Morrowind, from which the game got its name, is filled with ruins. They were once inhabited by the Dwemer, an ancient race of technically-gifted dwarves. But for some reason, they have all suddenly disappeared, leaving those ruins behind them. Whatever happened, no-one is able to figure it out. The player visits the ruins on many occasions, when questing or exploring. And the latter is sometimes much more rewarding. As seen in the picture, there are two piles of ash on a bed frame, a flask of oil and an elongated “dwemer tube”. Now, a player who does not pay much attention to detail might not even notice this, storming through this location on their way to the next goal. Someone else might just disregard it as clutter and useless rubble. But there are people who will see a story behind this. A story that one might consider to be the very last romance of the now extinct race. Scenaros pertaining to as to what could have happened immediately start racing through the head of this attentive player. Of course, the game can be completed without even stumbling upon the whole dwemer mystery, as the knowledge of what happened to them has no direct impact on the main quest. Besides, it is never directly revealed, the player can only speculate and ultimately decide on what the cause could have been, modifying and creating their own lore. This is exactly what made Bethesda such an accomplished developer. They do not explicitly tell the players what to do, they just provide them with tools necessary to enjoy the vast, open world packed with experiences like this.
Another intriguing subject that the players may discover on their journeys throughout Tamriel (the world of Morrowind) is this seemingly uninteresting pool of water. But upon further inspection, a small information pop-up shows on the screen, informing the player that they have just discovered the Pool of Forgetfulness. The cursor also changes, as with any usable object, but if the player decides to press the interaction key, nothing even happens. Perhaps it was a deliberate decision on the part of the developers. Or they just forgot to code it in. That is still, almost twenty years after the release, a subject of discussion. Some might consider it useless, some will consider it a brilliant addition to already clever world and narrative design of this RPG masterpiece.
As Shepard notes in his article, “If video games shared their entire narrative in dialogue and cutscenes, the medium would be little more than a film with interactive portions. Games can do a lot of storytelling in their interactive portions, especially through the environment.” And this is doubly true in the genre of open-world role-playing games, with Morrowind being the perfect representative of such. The developers and writers behind the game were fully aware of that and employed environmental storytelling to its fullest potential. Having it in the game gives the player a possibility to expand their experience, unconstrained by its mechanics or predetermined story. In other words, it is the discrepancy between the actual syuzhet and the story itself that leads to an enriched and enhanced playthroughs. This is also similar to what Jenkins tries to explain when talking about embedded narrative. Citing the author himself: “According to this model, narrative comprehension is an active process by which viewers assemble and make hypothesis about likely narrative developments on the basis of information drawn from textual cues and clues” (Jenkins 9). The only limit is, admittedly, the very imagination of the player.
This non-linear openness of the world has been, surprisingly, a kind of a double-sided axe. Most of the reviews back in 2002 were raving about all the different aspects of the game, but only a few of them gave it the absolute top mark. This very excerpt from an IGN article written by Jason Bates describes it well: “Finally, I'll admit Morrowind isn't for everyone. It's a huge, sprawling, megapolis of a game that can take a couple hours just to get into and a hundred hours to complete. In an industry where most games present clear, linear paths guiding you from one pre-defined problem (a jumping puzzle, a monster, or some other dexterity test) to the next, some gamers will find Morrowind's open-endedness unfamiliar, bewildering, even perplexing. They'll sit there, waiting for someone to come along and tell them what to do.”
This is a very fitting description. With Morrowind, environmental storytelling is not only widely used, it is in a way necessary to provide the player with complete enjoyment and immersion. Some people, when given this unrestricted freedom, will feel lost. The fact that the game is now 17 years old can not be omitted either. Using modern standards, it is quite inaccessible for an average, casual player. The responsibility placed on the player when it comes to experiencing the world the way it is meant to be experienced is now something extra, something that requires additional effort. The later installments, Oblivion and Skyrim, are somewhat more streamlined, bearing more resemblance to this roller-coaster type of entertainment where the player sits back and enjoys the ride. But if the player is willing to overcome this small obstacle, they will be rewarded by a fascinating storytelling experience that is still as magical and mysterious as it has been some 17 years ago.

Spirits Still Watching Over Tybee Lighthouse
There are many interpretations of the actual name Tybee. The most common one however is it comes from the Euchee Indian word for salt which is resource abundantly found on the island. Tybee Island itself has a history over 400 years long. It traces back to 1520 when Lucas Vasquez de Ayllon laid claim to Tybee for Spain. In 1605 the French came to Tybee in search of sassafras roots but where eventually pushed back in a naval battle with Spain just of the shore of the island.
Eventually Spain would give up their claim and in 1733 General James Oglethorpe came in and claimed the area calling it Savannah. Tybee was immediately recognized as an important part of the development as well as defense to the Savannah region. In 1736 General Oglethorpe ordered the building of the lighthouse as well as a small fort on Tybee to help merchants ships safe and keep control of the mouth of the Savannah River.
The Tybee Island Light Station is said to be one of America’s most intact light station as the 5 acre site still has all the historic buildings still on the property. The lighthouse however has had an interesting history getting to its now resting place. The first one was 90 feet tall and is thought to be the tallest building in its day. Unfortunately it was also built to close to the shore and in 1741 was washed away be a big storm.
In March of 1742 the second lighthouse was completed and with an addition of a 30 foot pole on top of the 90 foot structure, it now stood 124 foot tall and leads Oglethorpe to say “was much the best building in America”. Again however, they did not move it back enough and the ocean looked to take it. In 1773 the third lighthouse was built that now stood 100 feet tall. In 1790 Georgia ratified the Constitution and the lighthouse and surrounding land was given to the US Government.
In 1857 an 8 foot tall Fresnel Lens was installed removing the 16 lamps that were used for light before it. It was this light that doomed the third lighthouse as the Confederates in nearby Fort Pulaski thought the lens was too bright and would aid the Federal Forces so ordered the lighthouse burned to the ground in 1861.
In 1866 the fourth and current lighthouse was built and the first 60 feet is constructed with the original 1773 foundation. The current lighthouse is 150 feet tall and is topped by a 9 ft. Fresnel Lens. It took three keepers to man the lighthouse until its conversion to electricity in 1933. George Jackson became the last light keeper until his death in 1948.
The Head keeper’s house has had a claim of hearing whistling, not necessarily a song but just whistling. The Second Assistant keeper’s house has just finished renovation and has been converted into a theater room to show videos to visitors and tour groups. This staff member did not know of any activity in that house but we did find a person that had been in that room and claimed that she heard the front door try to open and it was loud enough that she and two others turned to see who was coming in, no one did.
Spirits Still Watching Over Tybee Lighthouse with us was that during an event there happened to be a psychic among the group who claimed to see spirits of two children playing in the yard jumping rope and they had a guy dressed as a light keeper in front of the lighthouse. The psychic claimed to see the ghost of another keeper behind him mad because he did not have a pocket watch on him and was not flying the proper warning flag due to the high winds that day.
