Sirius and Regulus fighting over reader (or James if you ship that, not picky honestly) please.
love your work ❤️
omg tysm ily <33 ive never written regulus, i hope i do him justice!!
sirius x reader x regulus
oh, now sirius wished he could pull the age card. really, he wished there was any reason at all why regulus shouldn’t be able to like you. but there wasn’t; you were a year younger than sirius and a year older than regulus. sirius was normally quite good with reading people, but you were an abnormality; he had no idea which black brother you fancied more.
regulus, on the other hand, was content. as the more level-headed black brother, he knew that he could try, but, overall, you had the last say in which brother you chose. did regulus hope with all his heart that it would be him and not sirius? yes. would that affect his behavior towards you and sirius? of course not.
or would it?
“ditch reg, let’s go out.” sirius plopped down next to you in the library, where regulus sat next to you.
“i’m right here.” regulus looked up from his book.
“i can’t, sirius, i’ve got to study.” you reply apologetically. “regulus is tutoring me.”
“i’ll tutor you, then.” sirius decided, leaning over to catch a glance at your book.
“you’re hardly in class, how do you expect to be a tutor if you don’t know the content?” regulus frowned.
“i know it.” sirius replied, as though that answered the question.
“go away, sirius. you’re being distracting.” regulus’ frown deepened. regulus liked spending time with you; he didn’t like how sirius was being so intrusive.
“maybe a distraction was necessary, right, love?” sirius grinned his most charming grin, disregarding regulus in favor of you.
“i suppose i could use a break..” you begin, and sirius’ expression brightens. “…but not yet.” sirius sighs dramatically.
“c’mon, don’t you want to have some fun? lemme you out, love, i swear it’ll be the best date of your life.” sirius insisted. you only smile. truth be told, it was flattering to have both regulus and sirius pursuing you, but you felt somewhat guilty; you didn’t want to make a choice like this, not publicly, not when their relationship was so incredibly tense.
“you don’t have to go out to have a fun date.” regulus interrupted. “it can be something just like this, minus the bothersome interruptions by someone.” you look to regulus as he spoke. now that you thought about it, this could easily be considered a date— you and regulus, side by side, studying together. you did recall a few times where his hand went on yours in order to guide your hand to the proper spot on a page.
“are you saying this is a date? this isn’t a date, right?” sirius immediately turned back to you, having finished scowling at regulus.
“i…” you trail off. “i’m not sure. is it?” you look to regulus for support, whose gaze softens upon seeing your confusion. regulus notes that you seemed to be getting a little overwhelmed by the pressure of both boys insisting on your company at the same time.
“i considered it such.” regulus admits.
“dates are a two-way street, reggie, everyone knows that.” sirius rolls his eyes. “which is why i’m actually asking instead of assuming.”
“you act like you never assume things.”
“assume things like what?” sirius grinned.
“assuming that my study partner,” regulus answered, gesturing to you, “would rather go out than actually do something worth doing.”
“going out is worth doing.” sirius retorted. “in fact, it’s necessary if you don’t want to end up a total stick-in-the-mud.”
“forgive me for not skipping every class i’ve got.” regulus replied dryly, returning to the potions book, flipping through the pages to find the one he’d been looking for.
“don’t listen to him, dove, let’s go have fun.” sirius pulled up a chair in between you and regulus and sat down, tossing his arm around your shoulders. “take a break.”
“sirius.” regulus stood up, glaring coldly. sirius’ nonchalant expression changed into a sly smirk and narrowed eyes— gray, like regulus’, but warmer; sirius’ were a stormy sort of gray, and regulus’ had a cool undertone that made them look almost icy blue.
“hm? what’s wrong, reggie?” sirius asked innocently.
“sirius, would you leave? i’m quite done with you interrupting my—“ regulus stopped himself before he could call you his partner. romantic partner. a boy could dream, couldn’t he? “—my study partner. go find some other girl to get drunk with, or maybe smoke with, i don’t care, just— just leave.”
part of you wanted to intervene. you knew that there was a very real chance that things could turn ugly; sirius wasn’t afraid of a duel, and nor was regulus (although he was more quiet about his opinion). at the same time, however, you figured it’d be good for them to get this off their chests.
“your study buddy doesn’t belong to you, reg,” sirius replied casually, pulling you a bit closer via the arm he had around your shoulders. “you can share, i promise.”
“this isn’t a matter of— of ownership.” regulus’ nose scrunched as his expression contorted in disgust at the idea, the idea that you were something to be owned and kept. “it’s a matter of letting us have time alone without being interrupted by you.”
“oh yeah?” sirius finally stood up, his fingers brushing his wand pocket.
“yeah.” regulus pulled his wand out. okay, so it had taken a turn for the worse.
“boys.” you stood up finally, and both boys’ stances relaxed. regulus put his wand down on the table, seemingly just now realizing how ridiculous a duel in the library would’ve been. you frown.
“this is ridiculous. you can’t be arguing in the library, there are people trying to study.” you glance from regulus to sirius.
“like we were before sirius showed up.” regulus grumbled. admittedly, his sulking was something you were surprised to find very cute.
“yes, we were, and sirius had no right to interrupt that.” you give a pointed look towards sirius, who looked away, somewhat embarrassed you hadn’t taken his side (seemingly).
“so this is how it’s going to go: regulus and i will finish our study session,” you decide. “and then this evening, sirius, we can hang out. sound good?”
“sounds good,” the boys reluctantly agreed, still glaring quite fiercely at one another.
“i’m glad we could resolve this together.” you sigh, sitting back down, quite worn out from hearing the two bicker. “now, regulus, about that potion…”

───❃•❃•❃───
Lately, it had been raining quite a bit; there was supposed to have been some kind of storm since last week. Regulus could see how the raindrops made water trails on the library window. He listened to the rain showering the castle roof.
He watched as his housemate entered the room, her tie slightly askew and her hair tousled, looking as if she had run all the way there.
Regulus didn't have many friends, to be honest. He believed he didn't need them; after all, they didn't bring him anything. Except for her, a girl he had met in second grade, who, unlike everyone else he knew, he didn't find absolutely and completely unbearable. She could even be kinda nice and a bit pretty, a little.
"Hi! How's it going? Is it difficult?" The girl referred to the herbology homework the younger Black was working on. She took a seat in front of him, placing her things on the table.
"Not really, it's a stupid subject," Regulus replied, focusing his gaze on the parchments in front of him.
"I like it," the girl smiled. "I think it's interesting. Did you know that mandrake is used to cure petrified people?" she commented.
Regulus smiled at her; he really couldn't care less about anything related to herbology, but she cared, so he cared a little too.
"I didn't know that." Of course he knew, but he liked making her think he didn't. He noticed a little sparkle in her eyes whenever he did.
There it was, the sparkle in her eyes. She smiled at him. "I don't think it's as bad as you think; you should give it a chance," she said about the subject.
"I'm not really interested," Regulus turned back to his work.
"Oh," she lowered her gaze until she remembered what her housemates had told her that morning. "Hey! There's a match this afternoon, Slytherin versus Gryffindor. I hope we win!" The girl smiled. "Are you going?" she asked excitedly.
Regulus didn't like those games; he didn't even like half the people who went there. "I don't think so."
"You should, we're sure to win! I heard your brother is playing, I think he's a Beater for Gryffindor." Regulus felt his blood boil.
Regulus never got along well with his older brother. He thought he was arrogant and didn't find him nice at all. He usually didn't care what Sirius thought of him; actually, nothing that came from Sirius Black mattered to him.
"I don't care; he's an idiot." Regulus rolled his eyes.
She really didn't understand why they got along so poorly. When they were in second grade, she thought it was just because they were in different houses, but as they grew older, she realized it wasn't just that—they really hated each other. She never asked Regulus why that was, and she didn't plan on doing so.
As for her, she didn't hate Sirius Black. They had talked a few times in the hallways and when she occasionally visited the Black house since she was friends with the younger brother, so they had a few conversations. She found him nice and really liked the pranks he played with his Marauder friends; she found them funny.
───❃•❃•❃───
With the sky pouring down and the stands painted red and green, the Gryffindor versus Slytherin match began.
The girl was really excited; she loved Quidditch—not to play, of course, but she adored watching it. She loved seeing everyone flying on their brooms, giving their all to represent their house and make it proud. She loved Slytherin and was quite proud to be a snake.
The problem was that Slytherin had been on a losing streak in Quidditch lately, having lost the last two finals—one against Hufflepuff and the other against Gryffindor. She hoped that today she would finally see her teammates in green lift the Quidditch cup.
The match proceeded fairly normally; they were tied at the moment. Slytherin tried to score, but their players were neutralized by the Bludgers sent by the elder Black. Sirius was quite good at playing Quidditch, although it was curious because, as far as she remembered, Sirius didn't usually play Quidditch. She believed he had only signed up this year.
Suddenly, the Gryffindor Seeker, James Potter, caught the Golden Snitch, announcing the victory of the lion house. The green stands booed and deflated with this announcement; it was unbelievable how they had lost three finals.
The girl sighed, waiting for the stands to empty a bit so she could get down without being pushed. Once enough people had cleared out, she descended the stands, running into a couple of Gryffindor players.
"You knocked everyone out, it was incredible, Pads!" said the dark-haired boy with glasses.
"You caught the Snitch; without that, we wouldn't have won!" Sirius replied to the Gryffindor Seeker. Turning around, he saw the Slytherin girl, and a smile formed on his face. "See you later, yeah?" the black-haired boy said goodbye to his friend.
"What's up, pretty? Sad because you lost?" he teased her as he approached.
"Quite, it's a disaster. I don't understand how they let themselves get hit," she rolled her eyes.
"They didn't let themselves get hit; I hit them," Sirius boasted with a smile, a big, white, and perfect smile. She noticed it; she found it attractive.
They started walking, entering the castle. It was dinner time, so they headed to the Great Hall.
"I don't think so. You cheated or something," she laughed.
"Oh yeah? Like the other two times you lost?" Sirius laughed back. There wasn't much to say about it; Slytherin was in decline.
"Well, whatever, I think Quidditch is silly," she lied, rolling her eyes.
"That's not true, you love it. I saw your eyes sparkle from the pitch," he confronted her.
"As if you could see my eyes from the pitch, it's too far," she accused.
"Not far enough to miss you," Sirius said suggestively. The Slytherin girl felt a shiver run down her neck.
"Don't be ridiculous." She laughed a little nervously. Just then, they passed by the Herbology classroom, and a lightbulb went off in her head, remembering she needed wormwood to finish her homework.
"Wait! I need to collect a plant for my Herbology homework," she announced to the Gryffindor.
"Are you kidding?" the boy followed her. "You like Herbology?" he asked the Slytherin.
"Uh, yes, a bit," she murmured. "I know it's a stupid subject, but I find it interesting," she said while picking leaves from the plant.
"Stupid?" Sirius frowned. "Why would it be? I mean, I don't like it much, to be honest, but that doesn't make it stupid. If you find it interesting, it must be fun," he gave her a genuine smile.
"You think so?" she returned his smile, hopeful.
"Of course," he helped her carry the leaves. "I like Transfiguration," he commented.
"Really? I don't like it… it's not that i hate it! I find it amazing, I'm just not very good at it," she laughed a little.
"Well, maybe one day I can teach you Transfiguration, and you can teach me Herbology," he suggested.
"Sounds great," she accepted his plan.
She liked the idea of being able to share what she loved without it sounding like a bother; she often felt that way.
───❃•❃•❃───
Recently, the girl was going out with Sirius, nothing too serious. They went to Hogsmeade for a walk, and Sirius bought her a dittany, which was a plant she adored, so she planted it in the herbology greenhouse.
They also tried to have their little Transfiguration classes, which didn't go very well. (She might have turned a Gryffindor student into a cricket or something like that) But it's the thought that counts!
The girl was now in Divination class with the younger Black.
He took a breath. "Listen, I thought we could go out today. I don't know, maybe go to the Black Lake," he suggested to the girl.
Today? Today she was going to teach Sirius about herbology, though she thought that she hadn't spent much time with Regulus lately, and she enjoyed doing so.
The girl used to have a crush on Regulus some time ago. She never told him, but she was certain that he knew; there was no way he couldn't have noticed. She was far too obvious for him not to figure it out. But just like her, he never said a word, so eventually, the girl tried to mitigate the feeling.
He never did anything to make it clear that he liked her.
"Uh sure, sounds good," she accepted her housemate's invitation.
Of course, she wanted to see Sirius, but despite everything, Regulus was her best friend, and they hadn't hung out for a couple of weeks. Besides, it was just Regulus; he wouldn't hurt her. She could talk to Sirius later, who didn't seem to mind the fact that the younger ones were best friends. He found it totally strange that someone as sweet as the Slytherin girl would get along so well with someone as repulsive as his brother, at least that's what he thought. But he didn't plan to tell the girl; it wasn't necessary. He knew that she cared about his younger brother, and he wasn't going to get involved in that.
They left their class, heading towards the Black Lake. Their walk was silent; Regulus didn't say a word, and she, for some unknown reason, didn’t feel like talking to him. She didn’t even know what to talk about. After spending so much time with Sirius, she discovered that it was very easy to talk to him; conversations flowed effortlessly. Everything with him flowed effortlessly.
“Are you okay?” Regulus spoke for the first time.
“Of course, why do you ask?” she questioned him.
“You always talk, you talk a lot,” he replied.
“That’s not true.” She rolled her eyes, which made the black-haired boy laugh.
As they laughed, the eldest Black appeared in front of them, bumping into them. Upon seeing him, Regulus instinctively took the girl's hand and intertwined their fingers, which made her frown slightly.
Sirius walked calmly towards the girl, completely ignoring his younger brother.
“Aren’t you going to make it to our little date because of him?” he whispered, though not quietly enough for the boy beside her not to hear, of course.
The older brother walked away from the girl with a smirk, not giving her a chance to respond. He was overly confident, it radiated from him, in fact.
When the Gryffindor was far enough away, Regulus abruptly let go of the girl's hand.
“What the hell is your problem? Why are you going out with my brother?” he yelled at her.
The girl opened her mouth in surprise. “I’m not! I’m here with you, you heard him,” she protested.
“I’m not talking about today. Is this why you haven’t talked to me these past few weeks? Because you’re screwing him?”
“What the hell is your problem?” she repeated. “You have no right to say anything to me, much less treat me like this. What’s wrong with you?”
Regulus was angry. Really angry.
His problem was that, one way or another, he was always going to end up feeling less than him. He hated Sirius, but not as much as he hated the feeling of never being as great as Sirius Black, never being as cool as Sirius Black.
“You can’t date someone like him! You can do better, you know that,” Regulus spat.
She let out a sarcastic laugh. “Better? Better like who? Like you?”
“Definitely,” he retorted.
“Go to hell! I spent years of my life following you around like your damn keychain, hoping you’d realize one day how much I liked you! And you knew! You knew I liked you and you just took advantage of it! And now that I’m finally trying something with someone, you come up with this bullshit?” Now he wasn’t the only one angry.
“It’s not ‘someone’! It’s my brother, my idiot brother. You knew I hated him! How can you believe all his crap in just two weeks!?” Regulus raised his voice.
“Well, in two weeks he showed me he’s better than you could ever be in four years!”
Regulus suddenly leaned forward, getting in her face, which made her back away, scared.
Noticing the girl's expression, Regulus felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head. She thought he was going to hurt her.
“Hey—listen, I—” Regulus tried to speak.
“Go to hell.” The girl pushed him by the shoulders and walked away, leaving him alone in the middle of the hallway with nothing but the storm of regret thundering in his head.
───❃•❃•❃───
After the fight with Regulus, the girl headed to the covered bridge. She loved it there; almost no one ever came by, it had a beautiful view, and sometimes she felt that even the air was purer, more magical.
She felt really bad and wondered if it was wrong to start dating Sirius. Maybe she shouldn't have; after all, he was her best friend's brother, or at least Regulus was supposed to be.
But Sirius was nice, and not just physically—though he was incredibly good-looking—but he was also pleasant to be around. He understood her and made her laugh. She felt comfortable, like she didn’t have to try so hard to make him like her, as she always did with Regulus.
“You look very mysterious there,” Sirius appeared behind her with a smile, looking at the girl with her arms resting on the bridge.
She laughed, as she always did when he was near.
“I’m thinking about whether I should jump,” she joked.
“Don’t say stupid things,” Sirius laughed too, coming closer to her side.
She smiled at him without saying anything. She wasn’t in a very good mood.
“I guess you fought with my brother,” he said, looking at her.
“It doesn’t matter; it was going to happen sooner or later.” She rolled her eyes.
Sirius sighed. “I don’t know; he’s weird. We don’t get along.”
“Really? You don’t say,” the girl said sarcastically while laughing.
“I’m sorry if he made you feel bad, okay? I doubt he’s aware of what he’s doing.”
“I know, I’m sorry too. We were supposed to go to the Black Lake.” She remembered.
“Yeah... I don’t regret that part.” Sirius glanced away with a chuckle.
“Hey!” She gave him a light hit on the shoulder, scolding him while laughing.
“He’s immature. Why should I be glad you spent time with him when you could have a much better time with me?” He moved closer to her.
“Oh, really?”
“Of course. You know it.” Sirius smiled at her.
“I know you’re a narcissist.” She laughed.
He rolled his eyes, laughing. “You know we have a date pending, right?” He reminded her.
“Mmm, no, I think I’ll tell Regulus to go to the lake instead.” She joked, and he grabbed her by the waist.
“Don’t joke about that.” He said with a smile.
“I’m not joking.” She began to walk away from him, laughing as she freed herself from his grasp.
“Hey!” He called indignantly, catching up and taking her hand.
She turned around and kissed him on the cheek.
“Let’s go to the greenhouse, okay?” She whispered to him. He looked at her, entranced.
“Sure, yeah, of course,” he stammered. The girl laughed at this and led him as they walked.
She hoped there would be a lot to do in the greenhouse so they could spend a lot of time together.
Either way, she was sure they would be spending a lot of time together from now on.

To Begin Again
TWO
Summary: You're a new teacher at a large and influential school. It's a risky step for you, as you've been running from your ex for almost two years. But when Dumbledore asks you to take on a class at the renowned Hogwarts, you can't refuse. However, your life as a newly arrived teacher won't be easy. Especially when the other teachers don't seem eager to make friends. Or rather, two teachers in particular: Sirius Black and Remus Lupin.
Author's Note: Welcome, dear readers. Please leave your comments if you enjoy fanfiction. This fanfic takes place almost in the real world (with the addition of werewolves) and is not a wizarding fanfic. There will be some differences and changes in things from the Harry Potter story or other fanfics in the HP universe, but I promise to do my best writing this fanfic. There will be a love triangle coming in this fanfic.
ONE THREE
You open your eyes, feeling a strange pain in your head but relief in your back. You're lying on a very soft bed. But you don't recognize the place; it seems to be someone else's room. There's more light in the room, fewer scattered books. The furniture looks expensive, all in a dark tone. You try to get up from the bed, but you end up staggering. Once again, your body is back on the bed. You think it might be best to go back to sleep until someone shows up. It's exactly at that moment that Sirius enters through the door. He carries a cup and is watching you almost without making any noise.
"How long are you going to keep watching me?" You ask while still lying in bed. Sirius laughs, and you feel relieved that you've broken what could have been an awkward moment between you.
"Is that how you're going to talk to the man who saved you from death twice? I thought you'd know how to be more grateful." Sirius responds as he leans his body against the desk in the room. You sit up in bed, after some effort, and stare at Sirius. He's wearing new, elegant, dark clothes.
"If you're expecting gratitude from me, you'll have to wait until I'm in a better mood. My head is a mess. Did you bring me here?" You wonder how you ended up in Sirius's room. Then you wonder where Remus is. Did you hallucinate meeting someone named Remus? And if he does exist, why did he leave you with Sirius?
"Remus and I. It was teamwork. We didn't want you to get hurt anymore. Before you ask, Remus and I are very close. When you're Lupin's problem, you're my problem too." Sirius then hands you the cup. There's what seems to be herbal tea inside, and you don't waste time asking whether you should drink it or not. You quickly ingest the tea, and almost instantly, you feel relief from the pain in your head.
"I'm grateful and offended at the same time. What do you mean, problem? I'm not a problem for either of you. In fact, I find it rather rude of you to refer to me as a problem." You say as soon as you finish the tea. Apparently, you managed to rise and stand up immediately after getting angry with Sirius. He seems to have a talent for irritating you.
"Hey, hey, hey princess. Relax. I didn't mean to offend you, but let's just say taking care of you was an inconvenience. Remus had to go teach, but today is my day off. A day away from the little ones." Sirius says, smiling slyly. You look into Sirius's eyes and wonder how he can be someone's teacher.
"You're a bit childish for a teacher. Not that I'm saying you're not qualified to teach, but..." you say, being suggestive. You notice he's no longer smiling, which is a pity. His smile is beautiful. As beautiful as he is.
"I'll forgive you for the attitude and offer to take you to the room where you should be going to teach. Right now." Sirius says, somewhat arrogantly, and pretending to be modest. At least, that's what it seems like he's doing.
"How? I just arrived, I can't just already have to teach, can I?" You had no idea that there would already be a class waiting for you. Things at Hogwarts seem to happen too quickly.
"McGonagall doesn't mess around. Apparently, you'll be substituting for my esteemed friend Lily Potter. Her health is fragile at the moment. But enough details. Let's go. The brats are eager to meet you." Sirius says, almost excitedly. Then he puts his hand out in front of you as if he wants you to take his hand. And you hold his hand, which is as cold as winter. But soft; very soft. And then he guides you, holding your hand with some firmness.
"Shouldn't I meet with this McGonagall or Dumbledore? Am I just going to arrive and start teaching?" You speak as you practically run through the corridors behind Sirius. He seems focused.
"McGonagall is busy dealing with a student who locked herself in the bathroom, and now everyone can hear her moans, and many students are nervous about it. As for Dumbledore, he's traveled to a meeting between some influential school directors in London. He won't be back for a few weeks. But trust me, you're in good hands." Sirius says, almost breathless as you're both almost running everywhere. Oh dear, how will you manage to teach after sprinting through almost the entire school at this speed?
"Tell me we've arrived. My feet can't handle climbing another staircase. At this rate, you'll have to carry me." You say, letting go of Sirius's hand for a moment and catching your breath.
"Nice way to flirt with me, but we've arrived. You're new here, they probably tried to intimidate you. I hope you survive. Take good care of my godson. See you later, Y/N." Sirius says quickly, with a playful smirk on his face, and then he disappears. How does he manage to be so fast?
Summoning courage, you enter the classroom. It's a room with an old-fashioned style, furniture made of the finest wood, and several students who look at you as if you've committed a crime. You compose yourself as you walk to the teacher's desk. It's a large desk, with a big book on top of it and a attendance list. You look at the class and notice that the boys who were fighting when you arrived are your students.
"So, students. I'm your substitute teacher. I'll be taking over this class until the previous teacher can return. I hope you'll receive me with the same respect that I'll give to you." You speak in a steady tone, neither too loud nor too soft.
"You hear that, Potter? Now you won't be privileged with high grades just for being the teacher's son. Finally, all of Hogwarts will discover what a loser you are." The boy, whom you believe to be called Draco, speaks almost across the room, addressing the dark-haired boy.
"You continue to delude yourself with your nonsense, Malfoy. If you put half as much effort into studying as you do into trying to belittle me, you'd probably be smarter." Potter speaks, and you just observe them with a serious expression.
"You know what? I think you two need to learn to put your energy into something other than taunts and senseless aggression. Malfoy and Potter, pair up and be the first to do today's class activity. For the other students, pair up as you prefer and start drawing. Today's task for everyone is to draw an animal that represents you as a pair. The best pair will earn extra credit. I suggest that Mr. Malfoy and Mr. Potter showcase their skills if they truly want to measure intelligence." You walk around the room as you write the task on the board and listen to the students forming their pairs. Everyone except the two mortal enemies. Apparently, they really don't want to do this task together.
"Teacher, with all due respect, it's not possible for you to believe that Draco Malfoy and I will do well in this task." Potter says as he adjusts his glasses on his face. He speaks assertively, and you look at him, trying to decide what to respond to him.
"Even though Potter is a fool, he's right. Not to mention that you've just arrived here and are already treating the two of us differently. It's not fair that the others can choose their partners and we have to stay together." Draco speaks, all full of himself, as if he's making a beautiful defense of why he's being unjustly treated. You chuckle lightly.
"I'll be clearer. You're going to work together, you're going to do a good job, and all of this in harmony. Otherwise, neither of you will receive a grade. Now, save all that energy for the beautiful drawing you're going to make. I'll be sitting at my desk waiting to evaluate you and all the other obedient classmates you have." You say, sitting in the comfortable chair designated for the teacher and opening the book on the desk. Malfoy and Potter must have realized that you wouldn't change your mind and decided to pair up. You took attendance, finally discovering that Potter's name is Harry, that the smart girl who draws beautifully is Hermione Granger, and that the boy she's paired with, who spends most of his time distracting her, is named Ron Weasley. Time passes quickly, and soon you're collecting the class's drawings to evaluate later. Draco and Harry did a great job together, but that didn't stop Malfoy from threatening to call his father to the school if you forced him to be near Potter.
"How was your first day?" Remus asks as soon as all your students leave the room for recess, and you stay behind to organize some things.
"A madness. Seriously, I thought my night was a mess, but waking up in Sirius's room in the early afternoon and then coming to teach was insane. Not to mention that the students I separated from a fight this morning are my students. And I think both of them will end up hating me by the end of my time here. And I lost my suitcase. But don't let me overwhelm your ears with my nonsense." You say, feeling lighter when you finish speaking, as if a weight has been lifted off your chest. Remus seems somewhat enchanted by your moment of venting. Or maybe his eyes always look too friendly? The smile is charming too.
"I can try to solve some of your problems. Harry is like a nephew to me, not to mention he's Sirius's godson. I can talk to him about this situation with Malfoy. As for your suitcase, it might be with me. I was walking through the forest a little before I found you in my room, and I saw this strange suitcase there. It was dirty with blood, so I preferred to clean it first, but I can take you to the suitcase. And then, of course, you can have a coffee with me." Remus says in a very sweet way, which leaves you a bit enchanted. For some reason, you feel that being near him is refreshing or comforting, something like that. You can't quite explain it yourself. You feel the impulse to hug him, which is quite strange. But you manage to control yourself.
"I can't refuse an invitation like that, especially when you offer me a solution not only to one but to two of my problems. Lead the way to the cafeteria because I'm dying for a cappuccino." You say, walking with Remus, who is walking quite calmly. Then you go together to the cafeteria, and you feel like you might enjoy your time at Hogwarts, even if it's short-lived.

HELLO! am new here, this is literally my second post about complaining about the lack of spaghetti in my life (I'm not italian lmao) so take this with patience :D
its just a little fic idea i had in school after scrolling down tumblr during break
HP, right after Lily's and James' death, but instead of Peter being the traitor, Sirius was ACTUALLY the traitor (for whatever reason, i havent thought of that yet- maybe hes just evil, idk), and Peter is truly dead.
Regulus isnt dead even though everyone thinks so, he ran away right after getting the horcrux and is on the run (somewhere in northern italy, you get the CMBYN reference ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)), trying to figure out how to destroy the horcrux, but as soon as he sees some wizardly news and sees that Sirius has been captured and is in azkaban, he storms right back to London. as soon as he goes to James' and Lily's house, he finds a breaking down Remus in the ruins, because fuck, the man he loved, killed their three closest friends and is now in azkaban.
And so they learn to cope together, Regulus silently copes with the knowledge him and James had an affair and never told Lily and now James is dead before they could properly end it. Even though Reggie loved him, he wanted Harry to have a normal family.
And now he doesnt, because Reg and Remus dont know where Harry is at all, only to be told when he is 11 (beginning of Sorcerers stone) that he was with Lily's sister, etc etc,
(this part is almost the same as HP storyline, except Ron hasnt got an old rat but a regular rat and Harry has genuinely been almost killed by Sirius in PoA)

Marauders Secondary school teachers au pt2:
The students really think that there's a love triangle between James, Lily, and Regulus. Most think that both James and Regulus are interested in Lily because James is constantly popping into her classroom for no reason, and she and Regulus eat lunch together a lot because their classrooms are right next to each other. However, some think that it's Lily and James that are going after Regulus for similar reasons. The truth is that James fancies both Lily and Regulus, Lily hangs out with Regulus so much because he gives her good advice for her crush on Mary, and Regulus is good friends with Lily but really couldn't care less about James visiting him so much, the same as Lily.
Sirius and Remus are the teacher couple that have been caught snogging in each others classrooms multiple times- only Remus apologises when they're caught.
Mary makes sure she has playground duty a lot so she can get all the gossip while it's still hot.
Marlene spends most of her time in Dorcas' class when she's not teaching because she's practically obsessed with her. The students are 50/50 on whether they're just co-dependent best friends like James and Sirius or actually secretly married.
Sirius prefers his students calling him by his first name because he doesn't like the sound of being called Mr Black or Sir as it reminds him too much of his father.
Students sometimes confuse Sirius and Regulus. Regulus is always deeply offended by this but Sirius can't help but laugh uncontrollably.
Lily gets called mum by students a lot because of how comfortable they are with her. She makes sure that they never feel embarrassed and sometimes keeps them back if she thinks that their homelife isn't the best, only wanting to make sure they're alright. She'd want to protect every single students of hers that are in bad situations.
Evan and Barty are constantly pitting their top sets against each other because they want to know who the best maths teacher is. The students find this simultaneously hilarious and frustrating because they have to work so much harder than other teachers' classes because their teacher wants to best the other.
Pandora is normally in her room alone because she wants to stay in a peaceful environment when she can due to how hectic some lessons can be. But sometimes Barty, Evan, Regulus, or Dorcas pop in just to make sure she's doing alright .
Marlene definitely has favourite students. These are mainly the ones who bring in food to eat and share with her but also the quiet kids in Dorcas' class because they don't make Dorcas as unhappy as the really loud people.
One time, James hadn't realised that Lily had a class after lunch, and he was basically begging for Lily to go out for drinks with him and their friends at the end of the day. Then Lily's students came into the room, only catching the part where James was asking for her to get drinks with just him. They teased him relentlessly for weeks after that.
Another time, James wanted to try his luck with Regulus after pining after him so long. But he couldn’t manage the build-up of the courage to do this in person, so he sent Regulus an email asking if he wanted to grab dinner with James. Regulus was teaching as he received the email and forgot to freeze the whiteboard before going to read it. The whole class saw the email and immediately burst out with laughter at the fact that James got caught flirting with another teacher again. Once again, James was teased relentlessly.
Whenever Evan or Regulus go to talk to Dorcas while she's teaching, they always speak in French to make the students paranoid that they're talking about them
Peter is arguably the second hardest working teacher behind Lily, but he never gets the recognition for it because he teaches German and not one of the core subjects.

SERIES MASTERLIST
Gilded Constellations | (wolfstar x reader)
Summary: You meet Sirius and Regulus at a family vacation in the Caribbean, but things don't go as planned and you end up losing contact once the trip is over. Years later your family moves to England and you get accepted at Hogwarts where you finally meet Sirius once again, along with all of his friends. One of them with a mysterious secret, that you'll uncover as you embark on your own Hogwarts adventure. Mostly canon-compliant. This IS a wolfstar x reader fic, but it's incredibly slow burn. They won't start all dating each other until we're very deep into the story, but I promise the long wait will be worth it.

A/N: Most Poly!Marauders fics are oneshots, where the relationship between characters is already established, and they're all happy and pleased with it. No issues, no drama, but I WANTED the drama. Couldn't find it, so I set myself up to write the story behind the stablished relationship. I wanted to know how they started dating each other, the jealousy, the will they won't they, because getting into a poly relationship can't be an easy task, and I wanted to explore that story. If you're interested: Welcome to Gilded Constellations!

Hit Me Where It Hurts The Most p.2 | S.B.
feat. Sirius Black x Rowle!reader
SUMMARY: You and Sirius run into each other at Tomes and Scrolls during a Hogsmeade trip and temptation boils over once again. Things are progressing between you and Rabastan, leaving you even more lost than before.
CW: MDNI 18+, angst angst angst, making out and heavy petting, cursing, abusive sibling, love triangle (Rabastan Lestrange x reader), Sirius is an angel, Padfoot shows his teeth, manipulative men
>Part One
Evan pulled a dusty, ancient-looking tome from the shelf, its title gleaming faintly in gold: Ancient Brews and Arcane Secrets.
“Blimey,” he said, brushing off the dust. “Bet there’s a recipe for immortality in here.”
Regulus didn’t look up. “Immortality? You can’t even make a sleeping draught.”
“Imagine us living forever,” Barty said, grinning. “We’d be legends.”
“More like eternal nuisances,” Regulus muttered, finally turning to examine the book.
You rolled your eyes and slipped away from the three of them, fishing your shopping list out of your pocket. You needed a few books for your classes, and had managed to convince Thor to let you go into Hogsmeade this week, so long as you were accompanied by a gentleman from a respectable family.
So Evan Rosier and Regulus Black it was, and by extension, Barty Crouch Jr.. Thorfinn didn't need to know that Evan and Barty were the farthest thing from respectable. All that mattered was the quality of the blood in their veins.
You liked Regulus, you really did, but you could barely stand to look at him. Every time you did, his brother floated into your minds eye, and you'd been ruminating on Sirius Black enough as it was.
He'd infected you like the plague, finding every empty space in your mind and filling it with his sonorous voice, his skilled fingers, his scalding kiss. It was all you could do to not show up at his dorm and pounce on him.
And you hated him for it. Hated that he ruined whatever tenuous balance the two of you held. Hated that he was better than you could have imagined. Hated that you craved him like a drug. Hated that this was happening right when Rabastan finally took an interest in you.
You liked Rabastan, and found yourself drawn more and more into his orbit. He was well-mannered and alluring, not to mention absurdly handsome. He was husband material. He made you feel safe, cared for, desirable…he was all you could ever dream of.
Conversely, you hated Sirius Black, and you vowed to never touch him again. That night was a locked box, a vault, and those memories of him could rot and die there. And yet, he was the one finding his way into your fantasies every night.
It was maddening, infuriating, and you tried with all your might to pretend it wasn't happening at all. Sirius didn't exist. That night never occurred.
There was only Rabastan, and your potential future together.
You wandered through the aisles, dragging your fingers over the countless spines as you half-heartedly searched, unable to focus.
“Is that Regulus Black?” A familiar voice boomed through the shop, and you looked up to see James Potter sauntering up to poor, besotted Regulus, his eyes wide like a startled deer.
You took a few steps backwards, glancing towards the entrance. Where there was James…
“Making another quick exit, darling? Seems to be becoming a habit of yours,” Sirius purred in your ear.
You whirled around, your list fluttering from your hands to the floor. “And why are my habits of such interest to you?” You bit, butterflies exploding in your stomach.
Sirius bent down and retrieved it, scanning over the bit of parchment. His hair was pulled back into a messy bun, his leather jacket and ripped jeans sinfully casual. Snow still lingered on his dark hair, his broad shoulders, and you resisted the urge to brush it away.
“Everything about you is of interest to me,” he replied, and your heart lost it’s rhythm.
“I—what?”
Sirius smirked. “What’s the saying? ‘Know thine enemy'?” He quoted, and you scowled.
You snatched your list back, tucking it into your pocket. “I'm not interested in your antics, Sirius. If you'll excuse me.” You shouldered past him, trying to keep you breathing even, steps measured, as you left the shop and emerged back into the winter air.
You moved into the shadowed alley between the shops, leaning against the wall to collect yourself. It was embarrassing how quickly he managed to derail you, and you hated yourself for it. Hated him for it.
Who the hell did he think he was, approaching you so brazenly? If Thorfinn knew…
“A long list of books, and yet you leave empty handed.”
You scoffed, snapping your head to the entrance of the alley where Sirius was leaning on one shoulder against the wall. “They didn't have what I was looking for,” you answered, not really sure why you bothered talking to him, or why you seemed unable to move as he approached you.
“Scrolls has every book under the sun,” Sirius countered, stopping a few feet from you. “So what is it exactly you're looking for?”
“What are you doing?” You hissed, throwing him a bladed glare. “What do you want from me?”
“The same thing you want from me—”
“I don't want anything from you,” you said, cutting him off.
Sirius tsked, shaking his head at you. “Still a liar, I see.”
You grit your teeth and pushed off the wall. “Fuck off, Sirius. I want nothing to do with you, or your games.”
“Oh, but wouldn't you like to win?” He purred, throwing out an arm to block your path. “Wouldn't you like to best me once and for all?”
“It's odd that you're so eager to lose,” you mused, stopping just before touching his chest.
“That's what I am, baby. A loser.” He turned his body, pressing you back against the wall, his ringed hand braced by your head the same way it was that damning night. “And if losing means I get to taste you again, I'll wear that title like a badge of fucking honor.”
His words went straight to your core, liquid heat pulsing through your lower belly in time with your racing heart.
You couldn't believe what you were hearing. Surely he hadn't just admitted that he wanted you…out loud.
“Sirius—”
“Tell me to go again and I will,” he muttered, his fogged breath warm against your chilled face. “Tell me you hate me, call me whatever you want, but just don't lie to me. I've had enough lies for a lifetime.”
“Why couldn't you just leave things the way they were?” you said bitterly, thumping a hand weakly against his chest, feeling his heart pounding as quickly as yours.
He smiled, a sad, rueful thing. “Felt like I was running out of time.”
A frustrated tear rolled down your cheek as you squeezed your eyes shut, unable to look at his face any longer. A lie dangled at the tip of your tongue, poised and ready to cut him down and rid yourself of his poison for good. But you just couldn't say it.
You felt his lips brush your cheek, catching the tear as it fell and your lungs hitched a strangled breath, fingers tightening on his shirt.
You shouldn't be feeling so much, like the emotions were pushing at the inside of your skin, ripping apart your organs to make room. For so long, you'd been hiding from your real feelings towards Sirius, and he'd crashed like a bulldozer through your fortress of denial.
There was still hatred, and plenty of it. Judgement and confusion and jealousy, but there was more lurking beneath the surface, waiting for an opportunity to breech your icy exterior. And now that it had, you couldn't seem to get your hands around it, to push it back down into the dark corners of your heart where it came from.
There was only one thing you could think of to ease the agony of it, the onslaught of feeling. So you threw your arms around his neck and kissed him with every ounce of raw energy you possessed, pouring into him like a waterfall.
He moaned against your mouth, crushing you between the wall and himself as he let you dominate the kiss, your tongue wrestling with his. You felt the tension unwind from his shoulders, his body giving completely to yours, and it set your blood on fire. There was something so honest about it, so vulnerable, and it made you want to swallow him whole, bundle him up behind your ribs where no one could ever take him from you.
He shifted one of his knees between your legs, the heat of your core pressed against his jeans, and you gasped at the friction. His free hand fell to your hip, gripping hard as he guided you to move back and forth.
“Doesn’t it feel so much better to let go?” He cooed in your ear, the cold tip of his nose brushing along the shell of it. “To let yourself have what you really want?”
“Sirius,” you whined, rocking your hips over his thigh, desperate for some relief from the chaos in your soul.
“Shh, love. It’s alright.” He kissed down your neck, finding the fading mark he'd left and latching onto it, bringing it back to life as you writhed in his arms. “I know it's a lot, but I'm with you. I've got you.”
Something in your chest settled, soothed by his gentle words, and you felt a sharp twist of guilt because of it. Sirius was supposed to make you angry, not comfort you. Not make you feel like he was the only thing holding your shattered pieces together.
Like he cared about you.
“She was here a minute ago! I'm sure she just stepped outside to—”
“You had one fucking job, Rosier—”
Thorfinn.
Your heart dropped through the frozen ground, fear making your stomach flip. Even worse, in the same instant, Sirius vanished, leaving you alone and vulnerable.
“What’s your problem, mate? She's an adult,” James argued, and your throat closed with panic.
Something nudged at your hand and you looked down, nearly crying out in surprise when you realized an enormous, black dog was sitting at your feet. It nosed your palm again, loosing a soft whine.
Stunned silent, you scratched at the dogs ears and it leaned into your hand, tail thumping on the snow covered ground. It whined again, licking at your wrist, and suddenly it clicked.
The dog was Sirius.
“Y/n!” Thorfinn bellowed, and you hurried out of the alley, canine-Sirius on your heels.
“I'm right here! What's going on?” You asked, feigning confusion. “Thor, I thought you were staying at Hogwarts?”
You saw James’ eyes flick down to the dog, widening slightly before regaining composure.
“It shouldn't take you three hours to shop for books,” your brother snarled, and you flinched. “We're leaving.”
A dark snarl ripped from Sirius when Thorfinn grabbed your wrist, and your brother recoiled.
“What are you doing with a mutt?” Thorfinn spit, but you saw the fear bleed into his eyes. He hated dogs, ever since your childhood spaniel had nipped at him from playing too rough.
Sirius growled again, fangs bared and hackles raised.
“That's why I came outside, just wanted to see if he had a home or—”
“Stupid girl, it probably has mange. Do you want to get bitten?” Thorfinn shook you and the other boys all barked in protest, but Thorfinn ignored them. Onlookers were starting to gather.
Sirius’ jaws snapped together like a gunshot, a warning, but you stepped between them, knowing Sirius wouldn’t risk you getting caught in the middle of a fight.
“Yes, you're right. It was silly. Let's go back to Hogwarts, it's freezing out here,” you said, starting to steer Thorfinn away before he caused a bigger scene.
“Wait, y/n,” Evan started, but you sent him a pointed glare, and he snapped his jaw shut.
You turned back around, unable to bear the pained looks on each of their faces, or the way canine-Sirius trembled with anger, hot breath puffing from his snout. James and Regulus were holding him by the scruff of his neck, clearly struggling to keep him from running after you.
When you arrived back in the common room, half-frozen from the long walk and emotionally exhausted from Thorfinn’s never-ending lecture, you spotted Rabastan writing at the one of the tables.
You looked straight ahead, a tear rolling down your cheek, and let Thorfinn lead you away.
A confusing jumble of guilt and longing knotted up your stomach. How could you be glad to see him after all that with Sirius? What was wrong with you?
Rabastan looked up, feeling your gaze, and offered an endearing half-smile, until he noticed your shivering, then Thorfinn’s hold on you, and his expression fell into a frigid calm.
He rose and met you halfway across the room, and Thorfinn stiffened at your side. “I didn't expect you back so soon. Where’s Rosier?” Rabastan asked.
“Hogsmeade,” Thor answered, attempting to shoulder past Rab with you in tow.
Rab blocked his way, raising a dark brow. “Did you fetch her from Hogsmeade?”
“It's none of your fucking business, Lestrange,” Thor bit, and a chill raced down your spine. Thor must have lost his damn mind to speak to Rabastan Lestrange like that.
Rab cocked his head, contemplative as a raven, then looked down at you, the ice in his eyes melting a fraction. “Did you get everything you needed, darling?” He asked, his voice noticeably warmer.
Your eyes widened, and Thor’s grip on your hand tightened. You should lie, say ‘yes, of course! I was starting to get cold anyways!’, but with that look in Rab's eye, his all consuming authority, you just couldn't. And, a bitter part of you wanted to see Thor get knocked down a peg.
“Well, I—”
“Yes or no, love,” Rab cut you off.
You felt your skin heat, your blood start to race at his specific brand of dominance. God, you really were fucked up. Getting turned on by two different guys in the span of an hour? You shook yourself. This is what you were supposed to feel towards Rab. Sirius was the anomaly, not the other way around.
“Yes, she did,” Thor answered for you
Rabastan’s expression froze over once more, his gaze cutting like a scythe. “Leave us,” Rab ordered.
Thor’s hand tightened, one of your knuckles popping with a sharp burst of pain, and you suppressed a gasp. “Absolutely not,” Thor snarled, stepping closer to Rab, chest puffed. Thorfinn was a huge man, there was no question, but Rab was hardly a shrinking violet at 6’2, packed with muscle from training with his brother.
“It wasn't a request, Rowle,” Rab replied, the clip of his voice sharp. “Come, y/n. We're going back to Hogsmeade.”
A trill of nervous excitement pulsed through you, but it was quickly dashed when Thor opened his mouth again.
“Until there is a ring on her fucking finger, you have no authority over her.” Thor's grip continued to grow tighter, and a hiss escaped through your teeth, tears springing to your eyes.
Of course, Rabastan saw. He reached around to his back and slipped his wand from where it was tucked along his spine, but Thor was too focused on looking big to notice.
“You misunderstand, Rowle,” Rab said, his voice dripping with venom. “My authority doesn't come from a ring, or brawn, or even my name.” Rab stepped closer, coiled like a snake, and his wand came up, the tip digging into the underside of Thor’s chin. “I fucking earned it,” he growled.
Thor froze, his hand immediately releasing yours. Thor was no slouch with a wand, and Dueling was one of the only subjects he actually excelled in, but there was no competing with Lestrange magic. Rabastan could hit him with the imperius curse before Thor even reached for his wand.
On instinct, you took a few steps away from Thor, moving behind Rabastan, and you saw outrage bleed into your brother's blue eyes. You would almost feel bad about the humiliation he was experiencing if you weren't fairly certain he'd broken your finger.
Slowly, Thor put his hands up, lowering his eyes like a welped dog, and Rabastan lowered his wand.
“Remember this,” Rab muttered, tucking the wand back into his belt, the dark wood fitting perfectly along the muscular dip of his spine.
Thor backed away, fleeing from the common room while the eavesdropping Slytherin’s giggled.
Rab turned to you, looking apologetic. “Would you like to return to Hogsmeade? Or rest?” His eyes snagged on the hand you were cradling against your chest and he frowned. Cautiously, he guided your injured hand into his own, inspecting the blooming bruise and swelling around your knuckles with a slight furrow in his brow. “To the infirmary, then.”
You nodded, giving him a grateful smile.
“Carrow,” he called, still inspecting your hand with profound gentleness.
Amacus and Alecto Carrow appeared on either side of you, materializing like wraiths.
“Yes?” Amacus drawled, hawkish eyes flicking down to your hand, then back up to Rabastan.
“I want Thorfinn in the Room for Requirement. I'll meet you there in an hour or so,” Rab ordered, shifting once again into that glacial, brutal calm, and you saw then what the Dark Lord saw in him and his brother. Men with a command that could raze the world. An intoxicating kind of power.
Fear and excitement twined in your chest, and your feet couldn't decide whether to step closer, or run the fuck away. You didn't even think to protest the capture and imminent beating of your twin.
He deserved it and then some.
The Carrows nodded and moved towards the door.
“And Amacus,” Rab called, and the boy turned. “Mind his wand.”
Amacus nodded, and the twins slipped out of the dungeon.
Rab turned his attention back to you. “Are you alright, darling? Besides your hand?”
You nodded, suddenly feeling bashful. “I can't believe he spoke to you like that,” you murmured. “He's lost his mind.”
Rab smirked. “I'll set him straight, don't you worry.” He threaded your arm through his and laid your injured hand over his bicep. “Let's get you to Madame Pomfry, hm?”
Together, you walked down to the infirmary, speaking softly to one another about nothing in particular. With Rab, it was easy. You could just let go, and he would buoy you along. No confusing feelings, no responsibilities.
The path laid in stone was so much easier to traverse than the one that veered off into the unknown, thick with brambles and thorns and tripping roots.
“Master Lestrange!” Madame Pomfry called when you walked in. “Oh dear, Ms. Rowle. Come sit, come sit.” She ushered you both towards a curtained bed, seeming to understand intrinsically that you were not to be separated from him.
“I don't believe they're broken,” Rab supplied. “But seem to be causing quite a bit of discomfort.”
“I'm sure it is. What happened, poppet?” Pomfry asked, assessing your injured hand under the lamp.
“I slipped on ice in Hogsmeade this afternoon,” you answered, voice cracking from pain when she prodded the bruising. Rab pet your head to soothe you, and unconsciously, you leaned into him.
“Poor girl. You were right to bring her here,” she said to Rab, who gave her a charming half-smile. “But I have just the thing to get you sorted in a jiffy.” She hurried away, flushing under Rab’s keen eye.
“I'm alright if you need to go, ah, tend to things,” you said, cringing at your awkwardness.
He leaned down to kiss the top of your head, sending sparks rushing through your body. “I'm tending to you first,” he replied, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Madame Pomfry returned with a handful of potions and salves. “Here, drink this. It'll taste wretched, but alleviate the pain.” She handed you a vial and you glanced up at Rab.
He dipped his chin in encouragement, and you tipped the vial into your mouth. You gagged almost immediately, but managed to keep it down. Already, the pain was beginning to fade.
Madame Pomfry spread some other salves on your fingers, then wrapped them tightly in white gauze. “You'll have to stay for a tick, just to make sure you have no adverse reactions. A half hour should do,” she said, patting your knee before closing the curtain and flitting off to another students bed.
Rab glanced at the closed curtain, then back at you. “Would you like to be alone?” He asked, his eyes searching your face.
You found yourself shaking your head, a pang of fear making you reach out for him with your good hand. “Can you stay until I get back to my dorm?” You asked, the request slipping out before you even formulated the thought.
He took your hand, sitting on the edge of the bed. “I'll escort you there myself,” he said, smoothing a thumb over your knuckles, the silver signet ring there heavy and warm from his skin. “I hate to see you so frightened,” he murmured, meeting your eyes.
You almost told him that your weren't afraid, that everything was fine, but again, you couldn't bring yourself to lie to him. “I feel less afraid with you,” you said. Guilt made your tongue burn as you said the words, but they were true.
Sirius was a risk, a tight rope walk through the stars, where Rab was solid ground, sturdy and sure. You felt torn between them, floating in purgatory.
“I’m glad to hear it.” He reached up, caressing your cheek with the back of his fingers before sliding them into your hair. “Because I find myself struggling to stay away for you.”
You sucked in a breath, heart pounding as he drew you closer.
“You're trembling,” he breathed, close enough that you could smell the peppermint on his breath. “Are you frightened now, little doe?”
You nodded. You were frightened by the way your body seemed to gravitate towards him, caught in his orbit like a wayward comet. Frightened that you felt the same draw toward someone else, and what that meant about you. About them.
Frightened, so frightened, but also excited.
“Breathe, darling,” he cooed, his hand moving down to lightly press against your pulse, fingers resting on the mark Sirius left behind, but you couldn't bring yourself to pull away. He tipped your chin up with his thumb, leaving the smallest gap between your lips, breaths mingling between you.
“Rab,” you whispered, a plea. For what, you weren't sure.
He closed the final centimeter, his lips meeting yours in a soft, lush kiss. It felt luxurious somehow, breathtakingly tender, and you found yourself leaning into him, wanting more. His tongue dragged against your lower lip and you parted for him without thought, letting him delve deeper, savor you like fine wine.
With Sirius, every touch, every kiss was an inferno, a clashing of wills, but with Rab, it was a warming glow, a safe embrace.
His tongue toyed with yours, gentle, almost teasing until you were practically purring, coaxed into docility. But too soon, he broke the kiss so you could breathe, somehow sensing the tightness in your lungs. He brushed kisses along your cheek, your temple, before taking a deep, satisfied breath.
“Better than I dared hope for,” he murmured, bumping his nose against yours. “Perfection.”
The haze of bliss around you splintered, cold reality slipping through the cracks.
If only he knew how far from perfect you were.
“Come, let me escort you to your dorm, if you're feeling alright?” He straightened, taking a quick inventory of your face and injured hand.
“Yes, please,” was all you could manage, your chest suddenly tight with discomfort, your stomach clenching with guilt.
He helped you to your feet and you walked in silence back to your room, the air between you laden with unspoken things, though Rab seemed decidedly more content. The image of a cat with a mouse flitted through your mind, and you almost recoiled from him.
Sirius didn't look at you like that. Like a trophy to claim, a town to pillage. If anything, he seemed to be wrecked by you.
The thought made your stomach turn, and you were relieved to finally reach the dungeons. He bid you farewell at the foot of the stairs to the girls dorm, kissing you on the cheek before taking his leave.
You trudged up the stairs, completely exhausted and twice as confused as when you woke up that morning. You stopped dead when you saw a brown paper package tied up with string resting on the end of your bed. None of your roommates were in, probably at the Great Hall having dinner.
Cautiously, you tiptoed closer, finding a small card attached to the string. You flipped it open to see a note scribbled in a messy, loping hand.
You win.
It was signed with a massive, black ink paw print.
Heart in your throat, you unwrapped the package. Inside was your shopping list, every item crossed off, and a stack of books beneath it.
Sirius had finished your shopping for you.
Tears began to spill down your cheeks as you pressed the note to your chest, overwhelmed with a feeling you could only describe as grief.
Thank you so much for reading!
You shoved the books under your bed and curled up on top of the quilt, tracing the shape of the paw print with your finger tip, memorizing each crack and detail until your eyelids grew heavy and you drifted into a fitful sleep.

u're thinking about blackcest. im thinking about blackcest. u're thinking about blackcest and james. i have not thought about them yet but now i really want to. could u. could u share some of ur thought about them? the jersey post is haunting me i need to understand
i would love to…..
(okay, so this was born from yapping in the very newly made group chat ’couples conglomerate’ which is me, kara (@/sugarsnappeases), lane (@/sixlane) and renn (@/velanavis). it’s nowhere near coherent and just the four of us going crazy … 🤍 but i’ve also been obsessively thinking about it so not all of this from the gc!!!)
picture this: james, lonely and greedy only child meets the black brothers at some boarding school (im thinking a university ??) somewhere in england. this is some secret history typa ordeal. james & sirius immediately hit it off and become best friends, + that they’re both 1+ years older than regulus, so sirius would obviously meet james first. the black brothers are still from the noble most ancient house of black. sirius is heir, regulus is the spare. sirius is the ever charismatic older brother, heir, confident, smart, beautiful and everyone has always been drawn to him. this hasnt been a problem before because they’ve always been very isolated and only had each other at the end of the day. maybe they were home-schooled. regulus is the lesser version of sirius, the spare, lacks his older brothers natural charm, has been taught to stay out of sirius’ way his whole life, to take after his brother, to observe him and watch him, be his shadow. regulus follows sirius and sirius leads. regulus hasnt necessarily been too overly possessive and obsessive (<- he has been, just not to his knowledge) over sirius before he starts university because at the end of the day sirius would always come back to him (for him, in regulus’ mind). only now sirius is leaving for university and he’s going to live somewhere else. sirius is excited, regulus is not. sirius meets james and it’s love at first sight and sirius wont! shut! up! about! him! he doesn’t even spend the whole breaks at grimmauld !!!!! and regulus miss him, needs him, craves him, sleeps in his shirts, uses his toothbrush, cry-wanks over it, etc etc etc
regulus eventually attends the same university and ends up meeting james. he hates him, is jealous of him, obsessively observes him interacting with his brother, convinced that they’re fucking (<- they are), and he developes a perverse pseudo-incest self hating crush on james because 1. no one is immune to james, 2. he stole his brother away, 3. sirius likes james and regulus has been raised to follow his brothers footsteps/think like him. it’s basically pavlovian. he wants james because sirius has james, he wants james because sirius wants james, he wants to know what james is doing to his brother, jacking off to pretending he’s in his brother’s place. wants to ruin sirius’ life, wants to have sirius’ life, wants to be the only thing in sirius’ life. <- he’s also projecting his feelings for sirius onto james in a bad attempt at denial :/ pseudo-incest jegulus save me….
what we mostly yelled about in the gc is the concept of a fucked up throuple / love triangle typa situation where both brothers are sleeping with james, and james being the spoiled and greedy only child who wants the black brothers set. <- which turned into a conversation about slughorn and the slug club and the three of them being members…. and maybe even the possibility of james killing slughorn out of pure possessiveness. jame sort of treating them like his collector items, juggling both brothers, knowing there’s this repressed incestuous miserable yearning between them that neither of them will act on / and using james to get it out of their systems. he wouldn’t even want them to work out their issues… <- which is where the jersey would play a part…. james wearing sirius’ jersey while fucking regulus or vice versa. the blackcest of it all is sort of unspoken between the three of them, but they all know. 🤍 after james is killed by slughorn sirius and reg end up actually fucking for the first time after the funeral and then they never speak again… 🤍
me and kara also talked Lots about a modern au blackcest dynamic today but this is so long already…. another time xx
#i realised today that im actually not that anti jegulus. it just needs to be in a pseudo-incest and/or unrequited context#<- huge day for me#blackcest#asks#couples conglomerats tag

I still see some people wish they made a Marauders TV show instead of a new Harry Potter show. But you know what, I'm just gonna say it: I'm glad they're making a new HP series.
I'm glad they do that because it will be easy to ignore. We don't need it. I don't give a flying fuck about Golden Trio anymore tbh. Besides we still have the rather recent movies - they don't need a remake. There won't be anything new in that show, it will just be the bigotry straight bitch fest JK Rowling dreams about.
With the video game, it was kind of hard (for me) not to buy it bc it looks great and being a part of a world that used to give you such comfort as a child seems like a dream.
If she made a Marauders TV show that would be the worst-case scenario - all of a sudden there would be an actual Marauders canon, a new fandom and new fandom wars, suddenly they could argue about a canon. We come here bc there is no canon. There is no JKR fucking everything up.
If she produced a Marauders show we'd get: white James, obsessive & borderline toxic Jilly, James-bashing bc JKR is in love with Snape, one-dimensional characters, evil & bullied Peter, black&white relationship between Sirius and Regulus, weird love triangle story between James, Lily and Remus or James, Lily and Sirius, BlacKinnon or girly Marlene - or worse, both! No Slytherin Skittles, Dumbledore the good, etc etc etc
So, yeah, I'm glad she does the HP series instead of touching the Marauders bc it will be so easy to ignore & not to watch, it can tank. I hope it will be a flop and I hope she puts a lot of money into it and loses all of it. At least we are left alone and can continue making everything as queer and diverse as we want to.

Rivalry: Chapter One
[masterlist][Ch2]
Regulus Black x Fem!reader
Mutual Pining and Academic Rivals are like my favorites so I’m throwing them together for Reggie🤭
I wanna try a slowburn, so this series will have some short parts that i can update easily between parts of Caught because I hate just not uploading for so long at a time. Fair warning I am going to include a bit of a love triangle later on(there will be NO cheating).
Warnings:Arguing,Language,Angst, Pining, Rivals, “Enemies” to lovers.
You and Regulus never liked each other. Actually, a good way to put it would be to say you hated eachother. But for some reason you were always clouding the brunette’s mind, even when you were yelling back and forth in an empty corridor he absolutely loved it. And despised that he loved it.
Despite the years he spent wanting nothing more than to one up you in any situation, suddenly every time your eyebrows furrowed at him as you began an argument, he’d imagine those eyebrows furrowing below him behind the curtains of his four poster bed. He thought at first it was simply because of your beauty that he was lusting after you, but after months of patrolling the corridors together as Prefects, he came to realize he genuinely liked your presence. Whether you were silent or bickering or yelling, he didn’t mind.
He denied those feelings for as long as possible, deciding instead to observe you from afar, acting as though he hated you while at the same time ensuring you were stuck with him as a partner in every class and during all Prefect duties. He didn’t understand why he shooed away every thought of you or hid his true feelings up until the last possible second, but he was a fool and a coward, he already knew that. As your seventh and final year at Hogwarts began, it dawned on Regulus that he’d likely never see you again once the year ended, making the dreadfully long school year suddenly seem far too short.
He could no longer deny he felt something real for you as he stood in the corner of the Slytherin common room, seething while he watched you dance against Barty Crouch Jr. The welcome back party was in full swing as you enjoyed yourself before you inevitably needed to become an image of responsibility.
You could feel his eyes on you, you could always feel his eyes on you. Almost immediately after you and Regulus became Prefects in your fifth year, it became increasingly difficult to avoid spending time with him. Though secretly you weren’t complaining, you’d always imagine what it would be like if he wasn’t so closed off. He was down right mean to you at times, and yet he clouded your thoughts all the same.
You always found yourself locking eyes with him in class, cursing yourself as you rolled your eyes away from his. You hated that you felt the way you did, but honestly you hated that he didn’t feel the same much more. This time, as your eyes locked, there was something new behind his irises. Something you never would have expected only two years earlier, jealousy.
You knew it couldn’t be a good idea, but after plying yourself with copious amounts of liquor you didn’t mind making a few bad decisions. You winked at Regulus’, biting your lip and making him go rigged in the corner before you turned yourself in Barty’s arms and captured his lips in yours.
Regulus wasn’t a jealous person, he’d accepted long ago that any girl wanting a member of the Noble House of Black would simply run to his brother, but you never did. You never even seemed the tiniest bit interested in Sirius, or anyone else for that matter. Maybe thats why it was so easy to stay calm all these years, his girl never seemed to have eyes for anyone. Until now. He never would have imagined the pure rage he felt as he stormed through the party, yanking you off Barty as you smiled drunkenly up at him with swollen lips.
“Come on, we have a project in Potions tomorrow and you can’t be hungover, I won’t be failing,” Before you could register what was happening he was pulling you down the stairs as you stumbled after him to the girls dormitory. To your surprise he immediately distinguished your dorm from the others and pulled you inside.
He dropped your wrist as he grumbled to himself, walking to your dresser and pulling out one of your oversized t-shirts and a pair of leggings, “Take these, get out of that dress, and go to bed.” He demanded in a stern voice.
“But I wanna go back to the partyyy” You practically whined in a beg, too drunk to care about the boy standing in your room with a glare.
“You can barely stand y/l/n, I am not letting you back into that party like this.” He grumbled as he shoved the clothes into your hands, turning away as you eyed the back of his head.
“Come on Reggie, let lose, you don’t always have to be the golden boy,” You teased as you began to remove the straps of your dress and shimmy it down your body.
“What did you just call me?” He snapped, turning around without thinking, his cheeks growing a bright red upon seeing your slightly exposed bra as you struggled to remove your dress in your drunken state. He quickly swiveled back around as you huffed and puffed with slurred statements of “stupid thing” and “tight ass dress” making him chuckle.
“Help me out here Reggie,” You sighed, dropping your hands to your sides with a slap as he arched his eyebrows at the wall in front if him, turning to see your dress halfway down your body as you stared up at him with hooded eyes.
“Um okay,” He mumbled as he moved to stand behind you, keeping his eyes upward as he gently pulled the zipper down with a soft chuckle, “It would be a lot easier if you unzipped it,”
“Yeah yeah,” You grumbled as you pushed the dress off of you without a warning, showing him your underwear that didn’t match your bra. He felt like all the oxygen was escaping his body as he watched you struggle to put on the shirt he picked out, your head popping out of the neckline with messy hair before you were hopping onto your bed, disregarding the leggings on the floor.
You yawned once, and then fell into a deep sleep as Regulus stood, shell shocked in front of your bed. For some reason he felt rather creepy being alone in your room hovering over your bed despite his very wholesome intentions. He neatly closed the curtains around your four poster and left a full glass of water on your bedside table before blowing out your candles and slipping out the door.
The next morning when you woke, you had absolutely no clue how you got to your room, or out of your clothes and into knew ones. The last thing you could remember clearly was getting your sixth, or maybe seventh?, cup of punch before dancing with Barty.
“Uh Black, can we talk?” You asked in a shaky voice as his friends eyed you up suspiciously, “It’s really important,” As Regulus took in your disheveled appearance and worried face he mumbled a later to his friends and directed you to a rather quiet section of the corridor before turning back to you.
“Did we….y’know….do anything last night?” You rushed out without meeting his eyes as you stood in front of him, bouncing nervously. “I just….I barely remember anything and….and Barty said….” You stopped, not wanting to believe nor accuse him of what Barty had suspected.
“You think I did something to you while you were drunk?” He asked in a soft voice as he watched your watery eyes meet his. He was hurt, for the first time in a long time he was hurt. “I didn’t. I helped you to bed, got you some water, and left. That’s it.”
You let out an audible sigh as tears slipped past your lashes, “Thank you, I-i was so messed up last night, I don’t wanna think about what could have happened if…” Regulus watched you with a mix of relief and annoyance, you had just almost accused him of the same thing you were now thanking him for preventing?
“You’re lucky y/l/n. Because guess what, Barty was the one all over you last night when you could barely walk properly, I’m sure he jumped to tell you how I pulled you away from him. You could have just come to me, y’know.” He scoffed as he walked past you and into Potions class taking the seat next to yours as you followed suit.
“I didn’t believe him Black, but I had to ask okay?” You whisper shouted as everyone began taking their seats around you.
“If you had to ask than part of you thought I was capable of that.” He said, eyes focused upfront as you watched the side of his face. His jaw clenched so tight you could see the muscle protruding on the side of his cheeks.
“I’m sorry Regulus, you may be a git sometimes but I don’t think you’re a monster.” You whispered as you pushed your chair closer to his.
“I don’t care what you think of me and I dont need your apology” He snapped, making you flinch and jump back as he turned to look at you. His eyes softened as regret began seeping into his stomach at the sight of you scared in front of him.
You looked away from him as soon as you felt your eyes begin to water, focusing solely on Professor Slughorn as Regulus tried to apologize beside you, something that shocked you greatly but didn’t make you waver.
“Just look at me,” He whispered, ignoring his notes entirely and looking only at you. “Come on, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to scare y-“
“Oh my gods just shut the fuck up!” You shouted, silencing Slughorn and drawing the attention of every student around you as you went red from embarrassment.
“Care to fill us in on your conversation Miss. y/l/n? Mr. Black?” Slughorn’s voice was calm bit stern as you both shook your heads and mumbled “no”.
“Well, you can pick it up in detention tonight then” He said with a tight lipped smile as he turned back to his notes on the blackboard. You dropped your forehead onto the table with a sigh as Regulus watched you with narrowed eyes.
After dinner you slipped out of the Great Hall undetected, fully intending to run to the library and “study” through your detention. Being a teacher’s pet came with some perks after all.
“I knew you’d be here,” Regulus chuckled as you approached the door he was now leant against. “Come on, we have detention little miss perfect….or did you intentionally plan to avoid me?” His smirk was so annoying you would risk another detention just to smack it off if it weren’t for your lack of any movable muscle as his eyes bore into yours.
“Slughorn wants us to clean Professor Binns’ class since he never does.” You eyed him suspiciously as he waited for you to walk in front of him, “Well go on then you little liar, can’t trust ya now can I?” He chuckled triumphantly at your eyes rolling as you walked past him towards the History of Magic classroom.
Regulus shamelessly watched you as you walked in front of him, deciding you were his whether you realized it yet or not. He’s never had a reason to defy anyone before, but as he watched your hair bouncing behind you and your cloak moving in the breeze giving him glimpses of your legs below. He knew you were the girl he’d marry, whether his Mother was okay with it or not, he’d either die alone or marry the beautiful girl in front of him.

Yeah sure Sirius can be dramatic to find out Regulus had a crush on James or Remus, whatever swings your boat, and hates it and all, but he'd be so smug too??
I can't explain this well but it's like telling your friends a Hear Me Out (although objectively, Remus and James are goodlooking but Sirius means this personality wise) and they're all ew no (Regulus is jealous, feeling like he's getting replaced, despises them immediately) and then later they're like...oh I see it (Regulus getting exposed to James/Remus's kindness, falls for them and therefore, understanding Sirius' obsession with them or they randomly being his gay awakening idk)
That's how Sirius feels when Regulus, who used to hate his friends and when he talked about them, suddenly likes them, a lot. Also Walburga would hate it when her favorite son is queer or likes James/Remus, the guy who stole Sirius from her/a non pure blood random??
It's like a huge fuck you to Walburga and Sirius basically won, or won over Regulus. He'd be proud. He'd be all I told you so.
The hear me out can be based on looks if Sirius was already out to Regulus or both of the brothers were to each other. Sirius's gay awakening being James or Remus, whatever floats your boat again, and ranting about them to Regulus, who just glares at Sirius to shut up.
Okay well, hear me out can be because of looks just not based on it? Sirius that's unconsciously crushing on James/Remus and so he's ranting about them personality-wise? Just not about how hot they are.
No love triangle with the brothers cause yuck. Either Sirius realizes he's gay for Remus, then moves on to James and then Regulus realizes he's gay for Remus or Sirius realizes he's gay for James, then moves on to Remus and then Regulus realizes he's gay for James.
I've been reading too many moonwater, prongsfoot, Jegulus and wolfstar if it wasn't obvious because this is low-key starting to get incestuous but whatever. Literally don't make the brothers like the same guy cause yuck.
I mean, I don't see this happening cause they are siblings and siblings don't... talk about this stuff, or at least I don't with my siblings??
