Doe explains where she comes from and why she mostly only rises at night. She is born of the moon, the moon is her womb. As a moon child she is opposite but close to Morningstar and works in opposite magic to protect Messiah.

everyone's favorite ringed planet, and in astrology it becomes more like everyone's favorite to hate and misunderstand.

ive been reading a lot of questions on the astrology subreddit today and my mercury seemed to be incredibly stuck in the gravitational pull of saturn as a topic- i saw Multiple takes that i did Not agree with whatsoever and decided to make a post like this to debunk a whole lot of them and give you my take on what Saturn really is in astrology

saturn is most commonly associated with the physical plane of being, the material, money, finances, business, etc, all because it rules an earth sign and saturn, the god, was a god of abundance, wealth and agriculture.

bc of saturn's association with money and the material, capricorn as a sign also got a bad rap for being overly concerned with the material, money, work, and while this isn't a Bad rap, being good at managing finances as well.

if u know my blog well enough by this point, it shouldn't be a surprise that i IMMENSELY disagree with this 😵‍💫😵‍💫

to me, saturn is the first of the outer planets, and jupiter is not the last of the inner planets, jupiter is the bridge between the inner and outer planets.

where jupiter invites us to cross over to and be made aware of the higher realms of existence, saturn is the first step into those same higher realms.

jupiter is the beckoning, saturn is the answering.

as such, saturn represents ultimately the dissolution of our egos, but in this lifetime, the balance between the two.

that seems like a huge jump from what it's traditionally associated with right? well let's look at the sciency stuff real quick.

saturn's rings are an incredible phenomenon, they require just enough gravitational pull from the planet to hold them in place, and they need to be far enough away in order for the planet not to suck them in completely.

but ultimately this is a losing battle, saturn's rings will eventually dissipate within about 100 million years saturn will go bald 💔

the rings are a perfect representation of balance, and their inevitable fate is a perfect representation of what will eventually and always end.

you cannot always have balance, saturn is perfectly aware of this, but you have to have balance for as long as you must.

you have to balance your ego with your soul for as long as you live, and then when you return to the nothing, your ego will completely dissolve.

this is what saturn is.

saturn is about inevitable transcendance.

the ego is a purely human concept, but it still manages to be sorely misunderstood.

your ego is not you, it's your titles, your labels, what you are to other people, etc. the ego is saying "I am a mother", "I am a CEO", "I work for [thing]", "I do [thing]", "I am a husband", etc.

your ego is what you can offer to other people.

your Soul doesn't care about any of that, your soul says "I am me", "I am a person", that's it. your soul is you, your ego is essentially your human identity.

saturn reminds us that none of us are people, none of us are CEOs or mothers or anything, we are all spiritual beings undergoing a physical experience. but it doesn't rip us away from that physical experience, it just encourages the awareness that there's more to it than what we can see.

this is why saturn demands balance.

we have to be aware that we are not our bodies, we are not our statuses, we have to be aware that we are beings of pure energy, constantly learning what it means to be alive in as many different formats as possible.

but we can't let that awareness detach us completely from what we're experiencing, because then we won't learn the lessons we signed up for.

what's ironic is that the planet all about dissolution of the ego is the same planet that got a very egoic interpretation. we said saturn is the material, the physical plane of being, money, status, etc, those are all extremely grounded concepts in the sense that they're all human-made. they're all made for the ego.

since saturn is so about dissolution of the ego, this also ties into the fact that, to me, saturn rules over drive and the willpower.

saturn is driven and motivated to hell and back to evolve, this is why capricorns are so often painted as ambitious. they're ambitious, absolutely, but only toward evolution into their highest self.

this is gonna sound like an oxymoron but i honestly believe saturn is exalted in aries instead of libra.

saturn's motto (to me) is "I define who I become", right, think about it- Aries' mantra is literally "I am."

aries seeks the self, it defines itself to know what it is and what it isn't- that's exactly what saturn does.

saturn also therefore is accidentally exalted in the 1st house and feels very comfortable in fire signs.

take me for example- my saturn is in leo in my 1st house and my midheaven is in aries (10th house is saturn's domicile), so my saturn is in trine with the house of its rulership that's in its exaltation (to me) and it's in the house of its exaltation too (1st house has an aries connotation).

the last few months i have actually been going through a HUGE saturn lesson and it dragged my chiron in with it too, and it's been fucking Rough. last night i felt the worst i have felt in years, feeling like i just wanted to give up on life.

today, i am back on my bullshit like nothing ever happened because my saturn in 1st house makes me REFUSE to give up no matter how much life hurts. i have literally fuck it we ball-ed myself out of this shit.

im still working through the lesson, but it was an extremely saturn in leo 1st house lesson.

i forgot how to be comfortable being alone and then when i got comfortable again, i got scared of people ruining it, and im Still scared of people ruining it because i feel like i have no space in my life for anyone else right now.

and before this, i felt like i had no space for myself in my life.

saturn's lessons can be extremely painful, yes, but they're not malefic in any way. they're literally there for us to achieve balance and evolve into what we need to be before we inevitably die and lose our egos completely.

it's a balancing act now, but it'll be a funeral later, for your body and your ego.

Destiny swapping: what happens when you let the enemy close

I woke up this morning and found a video about destiny swapping:

The topic made me immediately think of a "friendship" group I had back when I was doing my undergraduate degree. We were a group of three, having broken away from our larger friendship group due to prior relationship drama.

In the beginning of the friendship, I was praised for my authenticity, constantly complimented for my looks, my sense of style, my good sense of humour, my confidence, my intelligence... But soon that admiration and affirmation turned into mimicking behaviours, copying my fashion sense, my mannerisms, my demeanour and even my jokes. With this adoption of my innate characteristics came criticism and judgement. The one 'friend' (because there is always the 'leader' in bullying dynamics) initially started out giving me 'recommendations' and 'advice', as all friends do, especially when their guidance is called on, but this eventually devolved into backhanded comments and harsh criticisms under the guise of 'teasing' or 'correcting' my behaviours, the very same one they were copying.

Now that I think about it, I had a similar instance happen in high school. Initially the 'friend' would constantly compliment everything about me, my beauty, my body, my sense of style etc. But this devolved into a consistent one-sided competition she had with me, constantly bringing up ways in which she was triumphing over me, for example in academics. Thankfully, my childhood best friend, having more self-respect than I, told me we needed to distance ourselves from this evidently insecure girl. Knowing what I know now about how dangerous self-victimising insecure people can be, I am so grateful to her that we removed ourselves when we did.

Unfortunately, coming into university, I hadn't learnt my lesson fully and wasn't cautious enough. I stayed in the beginning stages of the relationship, sensing danger but being more fearful of being alone, as I believed I wouldn't fare on my own and didn't want to, again.

Having spent my adolescence feeling incredibly lonely, feeling like I couldn't quite connect with the people around me, I threw myself into the first relationship that closely resembled the friendships I had always dreamt about having; friendships in which we had interests in common, friendships where I wouldn't have to feel ashamed about what I liked, not realising that my internalised shame, fear of being honest with those around me and lack of confidence in who I was were what were really holding me back from true connection and possible acceptance amongst the friends I had.

Eventually, their behaviour devolved into attempting to isolate me, passing judgement about every other friend I made, expressing superficial reasons as to why I should not maintain those relationships; "You're above them.", "They're not cool enough to hang out with you."

See, one way to note the difference between someone that is empty and someone that is full, is to pay attention as to where they place their priorities. People that place greater importance on the external factors (such as; in their own self-care, in who they seek out to engage in relationships with, in their work and in what they like to spend their time and resources on) are empty.

People who place precedence on the internal worlds of not only themselves but others, are often full beings, being far more concerned with being abundant within themselves than outwardly and so will be interested in surrounding themselves with people who will pour into them. When someone is referred to as an 'energy vampire' or 'destiny swapper', most of the time (because they don't pour into themselves or others), they will seek out the light or internal abundance that resides in others. Because these individuals can't or are unwilling to do the work required to find that light within themselves. Sometimes, they too have light within them but become envious of other's light and decide to forgo this light in the pursuit of other's divine blessings.

My friends went onto criticise my decisions, my thought processes, my very being and essence, all while emulating the person that I was slowly becoming less and less of. Once COVID-19 pandemic hit, I was a shell of myself, in constant turmoil, trying to become a 'better' person, so I would be accepted (assimilated into) by the unkind and self-centred 'cool kids' on my campus. I held no personal allure for myself to become aquainted with these individuals, but at this point, I was already slowly losing track of my personal opinions and morals in pursuit of these relationships, not realising that the people I was seeking approval and community from were not my soul tribe.

After a year of not having a stable sense of self, I completely disappeared. I was a shell of myself, while my 'friends' absorbed what was indubitably my very essence. Oftentimes, I would have interactions with them that felt like I was speaking to myself, in their eyes, I saw myself distraughtly peering back at me, wondering how I'd found myself in the body of another, alarmingly looking back at the empty vessel it had once inhabited, now left barren.

They eventually abandoned me entirely, going places without informing me and ignoring me as much as they could while I was reeling, having lost myself and grandmother in the same year. When I came back home (after miraculously finishing the final year of my degree), I came back into the embrace of friends and family that had built me up over the years (developing into the person I became before my destiny was stolen), people who held unconditional love, support and confidence in me. Once I was at home in the presence of my community, I came to the final realisation that the friendship I had settled in for years in university was not only a betrayal to myself but also to my loved ones.

By allowing myself to be robbed of my light, I had consequently robbed my loved ones of my light as well. We are not given gifts by God to be enjoyed by ourselves. Nothing we are or do exists in a vacuum. How we are blessed will have an impact on those around us, whether intentional. When we harm one another, we undoubtedly harm ourselves, when we bless one another with the gifts we are divinely given, we too recieve blessings.

God had shown me how loved I was. And I still allowed a couple of hollow people steal my light because instead of recognising the blessings I had in the people who God had placed in my life, I still yearned for more. I perceived myself as deficient. I could not stand alone in my uniqueness and individuality; tailor-made for me, and for me solely. I wanted to fit in, I wanted to be part of the crowd, but how boring what that be? How boring would life be if were all carbon copies of one another? I also never thought to ask myself if the people who could assimilate seamlessly felt a sense of loneliness akin to my own, felt that they too had to keep a part of themselves to themselves to preserve their community. Maybe, had I been more vulnerable, I would know the answers to this.

When I walked into one of my shifts this week, I had an interaction with one of my co-workers that felt like I was staring at my reflection in a mirror. She had similar braids to mine, in the same colour blend, she was interacting with the staff and customers with the same childlike mannerisms and enthusiasm I brought to the workplace daily. This particular colleague would be would regularly be hot and cold with me, often I would walk into the workplace to find that she had an issue with me. Witnessing her act like me actually made my blood run cold, although I didn't have the correct terminology to explain what I was witnessing, I knew exactly what was going on. And not having learnt my lesson, I kept interacting with her the same way I usually did instead of pulling away, instead of distancing myself completely. But after finding the video it made me realise that I NEEDED to respond differently this time.

My final takeaways from these experiences are to;

Move in silence. Don't tell anyone about your plans until they've come to fruition.

Be cautious about the people you let into your life. Take your time getting to know someone, before you start opening up to them.

Be wary of/distance yourself from people who are hypercritical of you. It's one thing to give guidance or counsel and a whole other thing to one to completely alter who another person is.

Be concerned when someone starts mimicking multiple things about you. It's one thing to be inspired by another person and another to start becoming like that person.

Avoid people who have a habit of trying to one up you in intellect, their material possessions and inner qualities. Someone who is in competition with you or others is someone that is deeply insecure and is constantly trying to alleviate that insecurity by all means, including; stealing other's personalities as a means to bandage their wounded egos and alleviating their inner turmoil.

One issue I had ultimately with loneliness born from a fear of being rejected for who I was. I believe opening up to others will allow for an opportunity for deeper connections, deeper understanding and sometimes mental reprieve. But sometimes it's important to turn to yourself for counsel and sometimes important to be resilient and able to lean on one's self for emotional comfort, especially the older we get. Journaling helps tremedously with developing emotional resilience and reliance on one's self.

Remember to protect your light. When you take away the external and the material, it's all we have in the end.

And if you want to get your destiny back; All you have to do is distance yourself from the energy vampire. Remember, Satan can't create, only God can. If God's divine gift is within you, a destiny swapper can only syphon the energy off of you by studying you. Take that opportunity away from them and keep your distance. Be quiet in their presence. Be comfortable in yourself and in being alone, so you don't go looking for community in the wrong places.
