Things that we have found in the 1987 house we bought:

Main bedroom toilet gasket (?) Is broken

Frayed extension cord just in the wall??

Random wall holes (how we found the extension cord)

A floating uncapped electric box hanging from a live wire, multiple uncapped wires just chilling. This was in the wall we tore down, we wouldn't have known if we hadn't done that.

Greige vinyl pressed on over tile, leaves a sticky residue when peeled off

One outlet smokes when you plug things in, very fun.

A vent that's not actually a vent, just leads outside

Wooden subfloor in main bathroom shows signs of rot

Windows do not close once you open them

Appliances things:

Freezer doesn't freeze

Fridge is at 50 degrees F, not actually food safe

Standing water in the bottom of the dishwasher

And my personal favorite find: a 2009 preschool graduation certificate under the oven, and honestly it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in that long

I've been a homeowner for 2 months and I can't say I recommend it yet

#weve spent the last two months replacing the main bedrooms shower #before that i would have included that nasty rotting shower on the list

God, can you imagine what Rick would've been like if he'd been there for Michonne's pregnancy? He went to so much effort to find her toothpaste - and not just any sort, the exact flavour she said was her favourite - I can just see him off on a two day scavenger hunt just to bring her back a jar of olives she mentioned craving.

Cranky!! Angy!! Stomping my feet, crossing my arms, pouting very prettily.

bought toilet paper but i'm keeping it in my room because I'm grotesquely interested in seeing how long it takes my roommates to realize that the toilet paper isnt just mysteriously replenishing itself like it has whenever its run low before

oh the other thing about shower length is it's really dependent on water pressure. my showers are always shorter at other people's houses because their water comes out at a normal speed and volume lol
