It is the last I.Cinnamon Thursday... of summer! Well, technically summer ended already, but let's commit to the bit.

This episode is also about the last few days of summer. A funny note, the word for "sparklers" in japanese is "senko hanabi" (線香花火) which, translated phonetically, can be interpreted as "all-ages fireworks". They're a very safe type of firework, so the name is very fitting! What about you? Did you enjoy a good summer? We sure did! Please enjoy the episode!

Real Title: Hyakka Ryouran (A Sea of Lanterns) ❈ Although it’s my intention to refer this song to the one astounding festival in Nara (picture below), actually according to the fan assumption (Source / Translation); looks like this song has an implication to the artist’s hometown, Fukushima, which also hosts the “Tōrō Nagashi” where people will light and float the lanterns down the river or the ocean in order to commemorate for their lost ones. I don't find drone shows even a little bit impressive. I like fireworks. Boom boom. Showers of light. No recognizable shapes except circles and ovals. Deafening sound, total awe.

They definitely have their upsides - drones aren't gonna scare your dog. Which is a plus for sure. My dog always hid on the fourth of July. But aside from that dude on the block who has to put on his own show randomly so you can't prepare your dog in advance, I still prefer fireworks.

Heck I enjoy cute little senko hanabi more than drone shows.

Overseas, there are many reports of celebrities deleting their Twitter accounts. But in Japan, I see no celebrities leaving Twitter.

I can understand that the situation is different depending on the country, but I feel uncomfortable with the difference in atmosphere.

I love Japanese pop music and want the world to know how great it is.

Even if I search the Internet, I hardly find any articles that introduce Japanese music in foreign languages (without a few japanese city pop music. That's great music, but is just a little part of Japanese music scene.)

Japan's music market is said to be very large compared to other countries, so companies don't seem to feel the need to devote resources to introducing Japanese music to the world.

I understand that this is a natural result of market principles, but I think it's a bit sad.

So I would like to introduce my favorite music and my fav(OSHI) here as much as possible. Due to my limited ability, I will introduce myself in only English. As you can, enjoy it ;)

日本のポップスがとても好きで世界中に知ってほしいとおもっているけど、あんまり海外向けに書かれた記事が見つからないです。(最近流行のシティポップ以外。あれも偉大な音楽だけど、日本の音楽のほんの一部)

日本の音楽市場は他の国と比べてとても大きいらしく、市場が海外向けにリソースを割く必要を感じていないようです。

市場原理として理解はするけど、ちょっと悲しいすよね。

The music video by Japanese pop unit NO MELON NO LEMON, titled "SENKO"KINGYO(線香金魚). Starring MINA.

NOMELON NOLEMON is a duo music unit consisting of composer "ツミキ(Tsumiki)" and vocalist "みきまりあ(Mikimaria)".

Tsumiki is a Vocaloid P who has created many Vocaloid songs, including "Phony".

Mikimaria is also active as a singer-songwriter. She is also a member of Prasonika, which produced artists such as Rira Ikuta (ikura of YOASOBI) and Nishina.

SENKO KINGYO is a coined word by this artist that combines sparklers(SENKO HANABI) and goldfish(KINGYO), both of which represent the ephemeral nature of an ending summer.

This music video is the acting debut of "未菜(mina)", who used to be active in the idol group BiS under the name Chantmonkee.

mina says

"There are blue and red costumes. When I was blue, I still didn't know what I wanted to do, so I listened to music, read books, took pictures, and did many other things. In the end, the main character started his camera career when he turned 23, and returned to Nagasaki for the first time in a long time to feel nostalgic for his hometown. In the MV, the 23-year-old main character confronts his 18-year-old self, who is a bit rugged."
