I think that the most important part about this new era of the MCU is that we get origins that are relatable in a different way than before.

None of us were given super soldier serum or raised as assassins or born into playboy billionaire money.

But we can relate to being young and struggling to find ourselves and our identity.

Almost everyone can relate to the complete soul shattering experience of grief.

We can relate to shoving people away because we think that we are the problem.

We don't have powers. But imagine having the power to bring your mom or best friend back into your life. Imagine having the resources to reunite with a long lost sibling. Imagine having the opportunity to protect your family from their own history.

Wouldn't you take it?

The MCU all the way around has been enjoyable – but this demographic is complex and emotional in a beautiful new way.

DRAGONS RISING SPOILERS

Ok so I went from being a firm believer in "Ruler/Leader Jay" in DR and now due to leaks I have a theory that the secret organization he is a part of is in charge of merge damage control (they are not related to Imperium)

He is the leader of his squad and he only has memories from before he met Wu, so he has no idea who the ninjas are or what happened during all those years, but he chooses not to think about it because he is focused on his job and in trying to help people. So yeah... he is quite confused and skeptical when nya tells him everything

I'm starving for a badass Jay arc, guys

Because I think this is the first time in years that the writers are going to give Jay an arc that doesn't have to do with Nya.

I'm also very tempted to write a fanfic about this before the second part of DR comes out.

Zaptrap's 70% serious predictions for DR Season 2:

(These aren't super in-depth or anything, mostly just spit-balling but yeah. I tried avoiding leaks and tweets for these too so please don't correct me on these until the season actually comes out lmao)

It won't be as bright and shiny and new vibes-wise as Season 1, but it'll still be of comparable quality overall, re: solid writing, visuals, and such.

Zane will still be sidelined. He'll be delegated to a logistical task that mostly happens off-screen.

The focus of the season will be on Lloyd and the weird Dragon Conduit stuff. The Shadow Dojo stuff will provide snippets of lore regarding the dragons and maybe a secret third thing.

Arin's object spinjitzu will play a key in defeating the Wolves.

The Wolves/Shadow Dojo borrow some kind of power from Chima.

Jay will get 31 seconds of screentime. Jk, Jay will be more relevant but I don't know by how much.

Cole's whole "went off to follow Wu" will be resolved within the first two episodes. He'll tell everyone he found another gate in an area near the Land of Lost Things.

Geo+The kids will leave LoLT, maybe via the gate. The reason they will be able to leave will be because Cole misses them from beyond LoLT, therefore making them not lost anymore.

Kai and Wyldfyre will still be the best duo.

Ras's Master will also be from Chima, either another tiger or a Lion. They'll be revealed later in the season as an "ohshit" moment.

Lobbo tragic backstory reveal. His father is Cryptor and his parents are divorced.

Hints as to where Pixal is, but no confirmation. Kind of a "notice when you rewatch after season 3" type thing.

Some new characters, but not as many as last time, and they'll mainly be villains. The new characters from S1 will be fleshed out more (Geo, Arrakorre, etc)

No notable Djinnjago relevance, but it might be more important in season 3 when it's had more time to actually grow. If it is acknowledged in s2, then it's because Arrakorre has made his own tiny rock island with a single tree lmao.

Some kind of hints about the connection between Zeatrix and Sora.

Tournament arc 2nd half

Tournament arc! Prize is this season's mcguffin

Evil Jay! Though evil by technicality. He has to represent the Administration in tournament and since he has amnesia, ends up fighting the other ninja

Zane to have more relevance. Maybe an entire epic subplot that results in some EPIC REVEAL or whatever.

Wait sorry movie Cole’s identity reveal? Will there be repercussions about that?

OHOHO you bet! Garmadon's generals didn't recognize him at all, but there is some shaky civilian phone camera footage of Ghost-possessed-Cole fighting them all off, and the Ninjago City Internet pretty much just explodes from there with all sorts of weird theories. And the movie ninja aren't even in Movie Ninjago while all this goes down!

Some more details vaguely in order:

Cole gets doxxed approximately three hours after the footage goes up. The news straight up says this minor's full legal name and everything—Lou is on the phone yelling at them for that for about an hour (he is going to sue and he is going to WIN)

Chen and the other cheerleaders all chilling together trying to process one of Garmadork's Garmalosers being a member of the Secret Ninja Force. They get so close to realizing that the rest of Lloyd's group is the SNF—one of the cheerleaders even suggests the idea before they all turn it down. They were SO CLOSE

The theory that the cheerleaders/other kids at school come up with? Cole's only friends with Lloyd's group because it's the perfect cover, and to spy on Garmadon through Lloyd. Yeah, that's right, the answer is right there in front of them but the hateboner for Lloyd is so strong that nobody can see the forest for the trees here. The theory goes up online and most of the city accepts it wholesale.

Well, most of the city. Koko and the other parents realize pretty quickly that if Cole is the Earth Ninja, then their kids fit perfectly as the others. And remember, all six of those kids are currently missing due to being stuck in showverse! Garmadon's volcano may not survive Lady IronDragon's wrath

Speaking of Garmadon! He was not expecting the ninja to be high school students! He is about to have the worst week of his life, starting with the news going on about how this high schooler is his son's friend (but his son is bald and has no teeth, he's pretty sure... does he need to call Koko? no wait she's already here—WAIT SHE'S ALREADY HERE????). Between no ninjnerds showing up to fight him when he invades the city again and Koko giving him hell until she realize he ALSO has no clue where Lloyd and the others are (and Wu fending off his attack), Garm is NOT having a good time.

Koko, in full Lady IronDragon regalia: WHERE IS OUR SON Garmadon, clutching his bowl of cereal:

When Koko realizes Garm genuinely has no clue where their son is, she turns to Wu. And how does Wu explain that he a) trained his nephew and his nephew's friends in ninjitsu so that they could act as the city's heroes and b) they all disappeared into what might have been a portal and he's not entirely sure where they are? By playing his flute, of course. Koko punches him.

Between all of this there are still tons of theories about what the fuck Ghost was/is and why there was a glowing green ghostly guy hovering by and then jumping into m!Cole in that shaky civilian phone camera footage. And plenty more speculation as to how and why the Earth Ninja was suddenly able to tear chunks out of the pavement and make the earth shake a little. Yes it should be obvious but. Well. The internet's gonna internet.

And again, the movie ninja are not there when all of this is going down. Their parents are looking for them, Wu is looking for them, Koko tears up Garm's volcano and then joins Wu in tearing up all his research on portals looking for them—to seemingly no avail. The whole city being weird and invasive about Cole following the identity reveal doesn't help.

When the movie ninja finally do return we get this interaction:

M!Cole, head in his hands: my life is ruined S!Cole, patting his back: don't worry, it's not the end of the world! S!Cole: there's not enough nindroids or pythor for that

tl;dr cole got outed bc footage of him fighting off garm's generals while possessed was uploaded online and then picked up by the news, but bc the city hates lloyd garmadon so much pretty much everyone but the parents fail to realize who the other ninja are. bc it's funny

Ninjago Fic Rec Week (2024): Day 2

Shark Bait: ALRIGHT CONFESSION I haven't actually *read* this one yet ONLY because I know it's going to soooooo good and it's going to change my brain chemistry so I'm waiting until I am Emotionally Prepared but UWAH just the premise alone should be enough to entice you: Movie!verse with completely secret identities, and Lloyd/Green Ninja trying to take matters into his own hands...only for irony to make them worse, as is the story of his life. This author is already a legend as it is so who needs a summary GO READ GO READ NOW!!

Ninjago: The Nya Perspective: SINCE this masterpiece favorite of mine just updated not too long ago, there's no better time than to recommend it once again! Have you always wanted more from Nya in the early seasons?! Have you always wanted more of HER side of story?! Have you wonder how Nya became the person she is today?! Well wonder no longer for this story has got those answers and more!!!!

Sharpen the Scythe, Before He Reaps: Another that I've started but never finished, it's a reworking of the Day of the Departed, so you know it's FULL of Ghost!Cole goodness, from the good to the angsty!! And what I've read so far is sooo soul-grabbing (pun somewhat intended) and makes me wish DotD was even half as introspective as this jhgfdgfd

Thank You For Giving Me Wings: Over a year later and this is still my only multi-chap ninjago fic (...that, uh, isn't Legacyverse nor OC-related, oop). Still, it's never a bad time to have a little introspective on Wu bonding with his students over the years, moreso as family than anything else <3

All I'm Asking For: Quite possibly one of my very favorite Ninjago fics ever, it is REQUIRED reading as far as I'm concerned! Cole's the anchor character, but it follows EVERYONE in a slightly-altered aftermath of March of the Oni, with everyone recuperating, figuring out what's next for them with their lives and relationships, and spiced up with a little Christmas flair <3

Mechanical Hearts: A story I've been keeping an eye on for a while, it's a college Jaya au with plenty of Jay+Cole dynamic spread on top, and the way the author (hi Finn!!) writes all the characters is so deep even in the lighter moments and makes all the senes in the world for the setting they're in, and I love all the little nods to canon or the cheeky changes made along the way–it's so enjoyable!

Villains:

for want (for nothing): Not technically a villain, but Kai's certainly an antagonist here ooooooooh (a different, heart-wrenching take on the Kai-Lloyd confrontation in S4)

Lord Garmadon Is Not Impressed With the Future: Another one I've recced before, but now it has an equally villainous SEQUEL so I've gotta get everyone on the train again! And this story's got villain!Garmadon and villain!Garmadon-but-having-a-personal-crisis upon realizing that his future is...not at all what he wanted. And he also discovers himself beating the life out of his own son–so yeah. We definitely can't have THAT. Good stuff, good stuff.

Bucket List: Might be a slight cop-out since this is moreso about Kai BUT it IS my favorite Morro-related fic, and he is a villain, thus it fits! (...Plus I gotta put at least three stories in this section, c'mon). Anyway, Kai allows Morro to possess him for less-than-ideal reasons and presents a fascinating dynamic between the two and what it means to truly live and take responsibility (the good, the bad, the ugly, and all). Be mindful of the tags and warnings, though!

Outgrown (from Spider Lily's Claws): I knew I almost forgot a Harumi one! DR-fic in which Harumi stumbles across the monastery looking for a place to recuperate, and a company-starved Lloyd welcomes her to stay. A fascinating look at a Harumi who's still got her "Evil" instincts but is still trying to act in her best interests, while Lloyd...is Lloyd hgfhgd. I love their back-and-forth bad-idea-good-idea dynamic here a LOOOOOT

Brooklynn and Maisie sibling headcanons

Brooklynn introduced Maisie to Ester Stone after months of Maisie teasing her about her special interest. Now, some of their conversations consist entirely of quotes. It's like a secret language.

Maisie and Darius get along really well. Sometimes when Darius comes over to see Brooklynn, he spends half the time talking dinosaurs to Maisie

When the clone thing comes out Brooklynn teaches Maisie how to handle the media. Especially how to stay calm in the face of invasive questions about her family

(She also teaches them how to hack but their parents don't need to know about that one)

Brooklynn calls her Mai and she is the only one allowed to do so without being scowled at or worse

They never officially come out to each other. One day Brooklynn just asks 'wait what are your pronouns again?'

Maisie has a posters of Dr. Wu and Eli Mills up in their room that they both throw darts at when they're angry.

They're incredibly in tune to each others nightmares and will often wake up in time to stop the screaming

Some nights, when Maisie's claustrophobia is really bad, they sit on the roof until the sun comes up and Brooklynn tells her about all the cool places in the world.

They listen to horror podcasts and true crime together

They share social cues they've learned with each other. 'Did you know when people ask how you are they don't actually want to know???' 'Yeah had to learn that one the hard way.'

Maisie was very shocked to learn London and England are nothing like how Iris described it.

Sometimes they fight, when Brooklynn is terrified they're turning out too much like her

('You deserve a childhood, Mai! One without all this shit.' 'Well maybe that's not your choice to make.')

The only times Maisie feels really bad about what she did freeing the dinosaurs is when seeing one out in the wild triggers Brooklynn.

They cannot hide secrets from each other. Both because they know each other well and because neither of them can resist snooping to save their lives (sometimes literally I guess)

Decided to revive an old AU for funsies

It was a twisted AU based off a dream I had 3-4 years ago, but recently, I decided to rework it to make it more comprehensible. I like to call it:

Year of the Great Devourer

I started playing around with the idea of destiny and "what if it didn't happen as written?" What if Garmadon was never bitten by that snake? Our same Garms, Oni and all, but he's just not evil. The elemental master Destruction using his powers for good was just a fun concept.

He is the first to know of the return of the Great Devourer, finally putting together the team that he had sought out years before.

Lloyd, this time around, isn't an elemental master. Meaning, he never was forced to age. Being the son of Master Wu, he was actually raised a good kid, unaware of the plans destiny has for his father (who I actually haven't taken the time to draw...). Since the Great Devourer's corruption forced Garmadon to banish his brother to the Neverrelm, Lloyd was taken under Garmadon's wing.

However, he does have power, power that he does not yet understand. After realizing that he was part Oni, he has a personal mission to realize his own true potential, unknowing that such a power would slowly lead to corruption.

Cole, the elemental master of Earth, is effectively Lloyd's mentor. In secret, that is. Only the kid (and Garmadon, who's scrolls he may have stolen) is aware of his half-Oni side. His darkened skin and closed off attitude are a result of corruption, and he knows this. He doesn't believe that he can grow and change as a person, but Lloyd sees the good in him and wants to try to draw it out.

Jay, the elemental master of lightning, is incredibly elementally unstable. Since he's learned about his elemental powers, he's experimented on himself, in an attempt to control them. What he came up with were essentially shock absorbers that go around his arms in an attempt to minimize any unintentional harm.

He has lost an eye in his experiments and is incredibly twitchy, but he learns that controlling his emotions are a very important part to control his powers.

He has also exploded on a numerous occasions.

Zane, the elemental master of ice, is fully aware of his nindroid side, but acts more human than the rest of his team. Zane has had his powers long before any of the others, so he's basically mastered his craft. He and Dr. Julien, his father and creator, were actually close to Garmadon, have receiving most of his training from him.

Zane, being the most experienced of the group, is effectively the leader. He is also responsible for extinguishing Kai when he tends to overheat and putting out Jay's electrical fires.

Kai, the elemental master of fire, is effective with the youngest on the team (second to Lloyd). He was raised by his protective (older) sister Nya, who has no elemental power, but has mastered the art of kicking ass.

Kai has anger issues and tends to get a little heated from time to time (metaphorically and literally). The scars on his skin are a result of of some of these bouts, usually by him subconsciously touching his skin when he's upset. Nya had made him heat resisting gloves so he would stop burning himself accidentally. If he gets a little too heated, Zane is usually around to cool him off before he can do some serious damage (Which he finds relatively entertaining).

Nya finds ways to help the ninja in more ways than just elemental powers. She's essentially the emotional support friend :). She's also taking an interest to Jay, which Kai isn't really happy about, leading to many heated "discussions"

Alright folks guess who's back with more songs for you AND a playlist with them!

I've been having fun with this and I love talking about why I associate certain songs with certain characters I love doing it and I really do wish I was able to do animatics myself. But any who here are more songs! (Song-artist)

AS ALWAYS MAJOR SPOILERS

Violet- Marianne Ross: This song is SOOOOO Lloyd thinking about Harumi (I will in fact ignore Crystalized existence again), like it's all about thinking about someone who hurt you deeply and still thinking of them even though they treated you poorly. Lyrics: "When I think of violet I think of you I see you tryin got make is cool" Harumi trying to justify herself to Lloyd. "My mind reminds me of a purple hue, matched the sight of another bruise" Do I have to say more? Like Lloyd clearly cared about Harumi and she emotionally and physically beat the shit outta him

Like a Villain- Bad Omens: This song could totally be used for Morro or Garmadon in my opinion, the song is about someone talking to a person who unknowingly or not pushed them past the edge of no return. Lyrics: "Look into my face then look again we're not the same we're different" For Garmadon this could be a representation of the Great Devourer taking over his mind and transforming him and for Morro this could his transformation from a starry eyes kid to a depressed and evil ghost. "You need a new clean slate with out the dents" This could be either of them addressing Wu cause lets be honest neither of them have an all to peachy relationship with him, Morro especially who saw Wu with this new set of Ninja who are happier than he ever was who Wu treated like family while pretending Morro never existed. "I know that you tried your hardest I know that you meant well but you pushed me to the edge and I slipped and then I fell" For Morro this could totally be Wu's intense training and the way he made Morro believe he'd be the green ninja only for that to be false which kinda drove him crazy, or it could be used for Garmadon on him and Wu's journey in Spinjitzu Brothers to find the tea to heal Garmadon while the journey was supposed to get something to heal Garmadon it ended up just making him feel worse about himself and his place in the world. There's a bunch more awesome lyrics but we'd be here all day if I explained all of them.

Fourth of July- Sufjan Stevens: This one is a teny tiny bit of a reach but hear me out. Zane and his father. So we know that Dr. Julien passes away sometime I believe before season three takes place and it's said he died of natural causes and I'm just saying this could make a pretty decent song since I feel like Zane and Dr. Julien's really sweet father son relationship gets over looked a bit probably since he died so early on and we didn't get to see Zane mourn much afterwards. Lyrics: "And I'm sorry I left but it was for the best" Could totally be used for when Dr. Julien turned off his memory switch and everything. I don't have many particular phrases since the song is almost like a back and forth, but there are a lot of bird references which also works well for Zane.

Icarus-Luvbug: Now this could work for a couple different Ninjago parents since it's mostly about losing a child but I think it would work best with either the FSM feeling bad for what happened to Garmadon (if you want to make him less awful that is cause in cannon his feels about Garmadon are... slightly concerning like sir you're not supposed to hate your own child) Garmadon feeling bad about how Lloyd had to "kill" the child part of himself to lead the ninja, or Maya after Nya merged with the sea and how she wanted to badly to be there for her only for her to end up gone.

Little Lion Man- Mumford & sons: Misako and Lloyd, just trust me okay? Like it's all about someone blaming themselves how someone turned out and in a better world we would have gotten Misako canonically feeling awful for how Lloyd's childhood went due to the fact she decided to dump him gods know where (Darkly's is a boarding school and Lloyd doesn't remember his mother when he meets her so I'm assuming he was probably somewhere else before there?) but instead I'll settle for fan interpretation and I feel like this song would make a great Misako animatic. "But it was not your fault but mine, and it was your heart on the line" and "Now learn from your mother or else spend you days biting your own neck" and "Tremble for yourself, my man, you know that you have seen this all before"

Sorry the list is a little shorter this time but honestly sometimes I don't have full explanations for songs I just have like general vibes, like my excuse is literally just: trust, with little to no explanation. Like:

Gay wrongs tournament, round 1 of the minor bracket

Propaganda:

For Mike Walters and Edgar:

1. They have both either killed someone for their husband /or/ killed someone with their husband (or killed their husband but let's not focus on that-)

2. They met bc Mike was stealing access codes from Edgar in order to break into a top secret government facility. Then they start a time travel assassination organisation together. At one point they get separated and the first thing they do when they're reunited is steal more information and prepare to murder a guy (to quote Mike from memory: "I've been back for six hours and we're already planning to kill somebody")

3.Mike and Edgar are a very cute bear/ twink couple. They both work at the same government facility which has time travel. Edgar tends to be more of the brains while mike does field work but both have and will kill again for each other. There have also been several other various crimes such as breaking and entering into secure locations at their place of work. 

4. i have a million things to say about mikedgar. they met at the government base that mike was being blackmailed into infiltrating and then became the biggest goddamn power couple ever to appear in audiodrama. mike spent two seasons trying to keep edgar out of the fray and protect him and then edgar forcibly inserted himself into the fray. here are some things they have done

Together:

-Blew up a building inside of the top ring of security at their government workplace (they were blackmailed into this but it still counts)

-Assassinated a man inside of his own home in the self-proclaimed center of North America

-Bugged the home of an older iteration of Mike because they thought maybe he might possibly know something about an investigation they were doing (he did not)

-Stole endless amounts of top-secret data from their government workplace

-Kidnapped two guys in order to save a friend of theirs who didn't need saving because she's a badass

Here are some things Mike has done alone but for Edgar's sake:

-Shot his closest friend dead in his own home

-Broke into the highest-security ring of the government facility I keep mentioning in order to save him from drowning in the Pacific Ocean

-Got into a game of Murder Chicken with his Scruff date so he would be free to run away with Edgar

And here are some things Edgar has done alone but for Mike's sake:

For Wu Zetian x Gao Yizhi x Li Shimin: (propaganda from previous poll here)

They are in a poly and are so morally gray and I love em. The triangle really is the strongest shape

They're gay because they're all bi (literally in Shimin and Yizhi's cases, kinda more implied for Zetian). Zetian and Shimin tortured a man for information (and also because he tortured them first) while Yizhi cooked back in their apartment. They made a plan to destroy their government and take over instead. Yizhi killed his dad because he was talking shit about Zetian and trying to sway his trust in her (it didn't work lmao). Instead of a love triangle (it REALLY seemed like that was what it was heading towards) they all love each other and would (and have) committed atrocities for each other. There's a whole thing about how they're stronger together (like, metaphorically and on the battlefield (Shimin and Zetian pilot a giant mecha together and Yizhi balances them))

They're a canon polyship who are all a bit deranged and down to kill for their goals and/or to protect bae. Two have tortured a man to death together and came home to the third making celebratory cookies for them.

Passion Project Announcement!!!!

I have exciting news! Something is coming— a project I’m super passionate about and am thrilled to finally announce! “Stick Together For Survival”, a multi novel series centered around a crossover of Bendy and the Ink Machine, Jurassic World, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and the Monsterverse. It’s taken lots of patience and work to construct; I’m not even done yet with all I have planned. But I knew it wasn’t a fic I wanted to ever give up on.

So, I’m happy to announce the series will kick off with its first novel: “Ink and Amber”, scheduled to release mid September in honor of my birth month!

It’s a very niche crossover, but it’s something I’ve been planning on for a while now as a love letter for four fandoms that mean the world to me! I hope you’ll grow to love it to! (Prior knowledge of each fandom isn’t exactly needed; I’ll try and explain each background to the best of my ability without it coming off as exposition dumping. The rating is T, as each fandom is. But I do recommend giving each a try ;) )

My first reaction to the S4 poster was "Lang Wu Yao is smoking" and it's true on multiple levels. Not only is he rocking a new outfit as befits his new Demon Prince era, but he's literally on fire. Or something, anyway.

At first I thought he was wearing a mask, but no, it's his nail guards over one eye. Given the constant motif of vision/sight/blindness throughout Lang's arc, the fact that he can only see out of one eye is heavily significant, especially compared to Azibelpher's three eyes. It also ties into his dual heritage--he's "human" on one side and "demon" on the other.

It's unsurprising to me that Lang and Azibelpher are centered here, because their arc is likely to be the main focus out of all the competing subplots. On one side, we have "Team Good/Humanity", led by Shang Bu Huan; on the other side, we have "Team Morally Questionable/Demons" presided over by Lin Xue Ya. Each person has their thematic counterpart on the other side: Shang is naturally paired with Lin, Mu Tian Ming with Huo Shi Ming Huang, Chao Feng with Xing Hai, and Wasp and Spider with Dan Fei and Juan Can Yun. Putting Lang and Azibelpher in the middle suggests that they could go either way, and that they are what each side is struggling to control--a "secret third thing", if you will. Somehow, Lang Wu Yao is the key to everything, and his choice will define not only his character but change the world.

(Chao Feng being on Shang's side also suggests the possibility that she might ally with him on behalf of humanity because she wants Lang, which would be an interesting twist on multiple levels. Or maybe there was just no other place to put her? TBD. Xing Hai is also the odd one out on her side as well; I wonder if that means anything...)

Also, it's hard to see the details because of all the puppets, but it sure looks like they're standing in some kind of mouth full of teeth / bones that is also issuing smoke, which looks similar what we see of the Demon World in the trailer and the creature that attacks Lang.

tl;dr: this poster is a masterpiece of visual design and I can't wait to see what S4 has in store for us!

So I have no idea why this came to mind, but this is what I had in mind if I wanted to tackle Zane post s11 and during s12 if I rewrote Prime Empire- my AU n shit ig?? Dunno, im rambling.

Imagine a Zane post Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu where he was struggling to really figure out his identity after his time spent as the Ice Emporer.. before the events of Prime Empire and during..

It begins with him being unable to sleep; of him being hyper aware of how the temperature drops slightly below the normal and the sun departs to allow the moon to take its place above Ninjago with its pale blue/white light. He gets flashbacks to the blizzards every time he sees a night cloud cover the orb of light.

His breathing quickens, and he feels alone again. Even with his family nearby sleeping soundly. Of his other half who's silently standing behind him with concern in her gaze because she can't understand.

He gets flashbacks to the screams, the roars and shrieks he created when he attacked the Yeti's at the peaks every time he's taken to Jamanakai for a quick shopping trip. The crunch of snow below his feet causes him to flinch as if he's been struck. His hands clench, and because of him being upset, the temperature drops, which causes him to spiral without Pixal to reign him in.

He can't visit Jamanaki anymore.

He can't look at Lloyd longer than a minute before hurting inside at how there's frostburn imprints on his brothers throat, shoulders, and chest. Lloyd tries every day to approach him and explain that it wasn't his fault - trying to tell him that it wasn't his fault, but Zane shuts him out because of how Vex would coercer him into comitting unspeakable thanks against the peoples of the Never Realm. Whispering, offering reassurances, and pointing out possible threats to the Ice Emporer- HIM.

He can't train at all, with his brothers or his sisters. He can't bear to train with Pixal either. Worried that he'll get lost in the violence that was himself in the Never Realm.

Not even Wu can break through to him.

Snow has remained dormant within, every time he considers summoning his companion - his familiar.. he can't help but see the ghost of Boreal whenever his spirit flies. The other animals belonging to the Ninja miss their winged friend, too, but can't do anything to help.

Zane's just stuck in this constant loop of uncertainty of what to trust, WHO to trust. Because he doesn't trust himself, and Pixal can only do so much to provide comfort.

So imagine his sheer panic of if Unagami had reached out somehow - someway and had dragged Zane into Prime Empire?

Imagine the fear of seeing Mr. E- his BROTHER. Echo Zane, part of the group assigned to hunt him down as an avatar of the real thing because Unagami can access his memories. His deepest fears. His worst enemies. His younger brother being one of them because Echo Zane, too, had been built to protect.. yet turned his back on it because of fate and Dr. Juliens deteriorating memory, and because.. of Zane himself unintentionally.

Zane was afraid of his younger brother. He followed orders to a T- he fought with the intent to kill. He was friends with Harumi.

Zane was afraid of becoming like the violent side of Echo Zane.

On the other side of the spectrum- he would encounter avatar! Cryptor, a Nindroid, just like himself, but in every way his opposite, too. Whereas Zane was human, Cryptor accepted that he was a machine. He taunted Zane for his age, for his ability to sympathize with beings that could die. His inability to be WEAK. Perfect in comparison to Zane's broken state. In his view- Zane saw Cryptor as somebody who knew what they were.

A souless monster.
