people with personality disorders are treated like garbage and we don't deserve it. most clinicians don't even know enough about personality disorders to know beyond borderline and narcissistic PDs, and even then, they have a very skewed and ableist view of both of those conditions. it's not your fault and you're not faking your condition if your clinician literally just does not know about your condition- it means they haven't done their research and need to, immediately.

if you have a personality disorder, i have nothing but respect for you. you have to fight tooth and nail to be seen, treated, and heard, and to be treated like a person, in medical settings, and personal ones.

Ideas of reference is a symptom I struggle with. I like the description of it that defines it as "the notion that everything one perceives in the world relates to one's own destiny."

For me it mostly appears when I listen to music. I feel like the song means I should do something or was written for me.

I am very open about my diagnosis and struggle with Schizotypal personality disorder.

I am posting this so hopefully someone else knows they aren't alone with the struggle because this illness is isolating.
