The LBGT rep in League of Legends seems interesting so far!

If you had any critiques on how the rep as a whole is being portrayed, which would they be?

Sorry if this seems like too much of a hassle, you just piqued my interest, is all 😆

Oh I have SO many things to say about the LGBT representation in League, I love to talk about it. So, league started out as a very cishetereo, misogynist IP and a lot of that unfortunately shows to this day. A lot of the old designs are crappy and misogynistic, the fanbase is toxic. But over time devs have been updating their designs, lore, stories, and characters and in doing so have introduced more LGBT characters into the universe.

This pretty much started with Caitlynn and Vi all the way back in 2012. They were originally billed as the "good cop bad cop" duo from Piltover. Vi's short hair and their close working relationship got a lot of people speculating on Vi being a lesbian and them being more than business partners. Devs hinted at characters being queer, and the (predominantly cishet man) fanbase made homophobic jokes and memes about queer coded characters. Jokes, speculation, and hints from developers was all there was when it came to LGBT rep. That changed when Varus got his lore update in 2017, when they decided to totally retcon his old lore and say he is not some guy, actually is a gay couple that gave up their mortal forms to exist in the body of a darkin (?? kinda weird and complicated lore) but shortly after that, Neeko was revealed. Who was League's first openly gay champion. She had voice lines flirting with women and showing no interest in men. Beyond her sexuality though, she's just got a very funny and adorable personality and her interest in women isnt sexualized for the mostly male audience. She was very well received despite some bigoted gamers bitching.

After that more and more champions were introduced as queer or confrimed that way. Rell was introduced as openly bisexual, K'sante was openly gay, Leona and Diana got a story where they kissed and were confirmed as lovers. Arcane confirmed Vi and Caitlynn being a couple. The amount of queer content is kind of sparing since their games arent rlly story focused and only offer characterization through brief voice lines. So... to be clear its kind of just representation crumbs. But I take them anyways dfkjgh. I think at least, one of the best things they did recently was confirm Graves as a gay man, his "work" partner Twisted Fate as bisexual, and wrote a story about their burgeoning romantic interest in eachother. Many of the queer characters league introduced were new, and some ended up neglected in the vast roster of characters. League has also avoided representation of gay male characters, probably to try to avoid displeasing their mostly straight male audience. Graves and Twisted Fate however, are very established & beloved characters in league, with a complicated history with eachother that started all the way back in 2011. For many years people joked about them "bickering like an old married couple" and in a pride event they officially confirmed it... I think it was very well done and meaningful to see and I really, really hope they further explore it in future cinematics/stories with these two. I really hope it doesn't end up being confined to this one story.

All of that said, though, League's major flaw in their representation is the lack of rep for trans people. The first attempt at a trans character in League was Taliyah. Her creator revealed that they intended for her storyline to involve her experience being a trans girl, but that part of her story was cut by higher ups. Taliyah is pretty much universally accepted as being trans by the community, but the studio did tell designers to keep it on the downlow, which is bullshit. She's been left out of league's pride events and I really hope they remedy that soon.

This post is getting way long I'm sorry but I CANT go without mentioning their other trans character from Legends of Runeterra, the card game they released based of league of legends. LoR actually has more queer representation than any league media, and builds out the world a LOT, through LoR we got confirmation about established character like Miss Fortune and Nami being queer themselves. And most notably, we have a surprisingly amazing representation of a trans character.

Tyari, the Traveler starts off going by he/him, and is starting a journey up the mountain of Targon. It's a treacherous climb but if you make it to the top, you could become an ascended being, basically. So throughout the game, cards of their friends and the people around them have lines support their journey and encouraging them.

When they reach the top, Tyari becomes the Traveler, a goddess-like being with a more feminine voice and appearance. You realize that the journey up the mountain is used as an allegory for her transition, and it throws those interactions with Taric in a whole new light. She is also voiced by trans voice actress Maddie Taylor.

I literally cannot listen to these lines between Tyari and her future self without tearing up. I don't know HOW a league of legends card game managed to put together a decent trans storyline but it guts me.

Tyari is a very beloved character from the card game, many fans want to see more of her in any future league media. (me included, oh my god)

SORRY that was a lot but uh. Tl;dr League representation is hit and miss, they really need to do better and give more representation towards trans people. the only representation outside of Arcane is like. Voice lines and short stories published on their website so I hope they'll creature more in depth queer storylines in future seasons of Arcane, future shows/movies, and their upcoming games around the League IP.

– Have you ever considered leaving Georgia? Or is it actually a nice country outside of the political rifle? What are some cultural things you like / find interesting about your country? If 'yes' to the first, what nation?

It is a great country and I love it very much (all the people I love are here soo) but obviously Ive considered moving abroad because even though I love the nature, people, culture, it's very difficult financially and politically. I don't have any specific country in mind just some European country probably. I (and many young people) often feel trapped because there's just no support from the state (like its a surprise if you find someone who doesn't have a loan from the bank). Barely any jobs, low wages, ridiculously high prices and on top of that we have an illegitimate government which is day by day taking away our rights and independence.

So as you can see the problem is the government and their politics, so we just have to get rid of them. The country itself is really great. We have great nature (we have the sea, mountains, some sort of desert too, whatever you like lol). The culture itself is really interesting, its not a homogeneous thing and every region has its unique culture with its unique traditions and food. Georgian cuisine is very rich. Even eating food, the way its served and the way its eaten is itself part of the culture.

I love that because we are kinda on the border of Europe and Asia, we have mix of these cultures and we have bits of this and that from everywhere.

Also, oldest evidence of wine production was discovered in Georgia (6000 BC) soo thats cool!

For me Georgia's history is really interesting too because it has always been the target of multiple empires and its pure luck (or just pure spite) that we are still here lol. Georgian literature is also fascinating (literally one of my favorite things). What I love about Georgian literature is how many women are heroes of the story or how important they are in the story. [you have activated my special interest, prepare for infodumping lol]

One of the oldest Georgian texts is from 5th century about a woman martyr called Shushanik and how she refused to give up her faith just to be spared by the enemy Empire (she was a nobility and her husband converted so he would get more influence and wanted her to convert too). The way these people are portrayed in the story and the way it is written, even though its in old Georgian and even though you don't understand half of the words, its a very interesting read and it feels very modern idk how to explain it😅.

There's another text, 12th century poem The knight in the panther's skin, where it's explicitly said that women and men are equal and they should be judged by their merits not their gender + it lowkey says "we love God obviously but loving each other is the real deal". The rumor is that the author of this poem was in love with then king Tamar (she was the ruler of Georgia back then) and he dedicated this poem to her.

I realize ive written too much… but anyways there's a lot of things I love about my country, its culture, history, literature all of it it very interesting and worth checking out! Tripadvisor should hire me now lol

The supermarket was crowded this Sunday with a selection of well-dressed denizens of your city. It must be the after-church rush. You felt most underdressed for this trip to the store. The line for the checkout was long, and the man behind you sighed as he checked his phone. The music was blaring loud, and you could hear it through your headphones. The cashier raised an eyebrow at you as she slid the last tray of salmon across the scanner.

"Cookout," you said, taking one of your headphones off of your ear.

The cashier stuck out her lower lip and nodded, sticking the tray in the last of your reusable bags. "Have fun at your cookout," she said. You winced at the total in front of you as you put your card in the card reader. Groceries were expensive already without a giant merman in your pool. It chimed, and you took the card out.

"Have a nice day," said the cashier, and you exited the store and hurried to your car.

...

"You told me you like salmon?" you asked, your lower legs dangling in the cool water. "How do you even get salmon? There's no wild salmon in the state," you said, throwing a cut into the pool.

He took it, putting it in a death roll not unlike an alligator would its prey. His teeth were sharp, his pupils (from what you saw, at least) a straight line on his eye. He splashed saltwater everywhere. You squealed, throwing your forearms in front of your face through the worst of it.

"Mortarion, careful, your stitches..." you muttered before he soon stopped his activity.

"Force of habit..." he said after swallowing his first bite of salmon. He had the fillet in one hand and was grabbing at the deep blue tiles that lined your pool with the other. You noticed him running his fingers along them, and smiled slightly. He took another bite and swallowed. "I would much prefer live fish, but this will do."

You shuddered at the prospect of feeding a live fish to the merman in your pool. Where would you even get one? Typhus spent a lot of time at the beach and you would see him there when you went on your off days, but you weren't going to ask him anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Mortarion pulled himself out of the pool a little bit to look at you. "You do not eat live fish?" he asked, his eyebrows raised and his green eyes widened.

"Oh, absolutely not," you muttered, running a hand along your other forearm.

"Oh," he said, genuinely taken aback. "You are a strange one, for sure."

"It's my entire species, actually..." you trailed off. "Unless, you're kind of weird, I guess? I mean, there's weirdos online who eat raw meat but I doubt they'd eat--"

"None of you eat live fish?" he asks after swallowing another bite of fish.

"No... sorry."

He looked at you incredulously. He moved his hand along the side of the pool, towards your dangling leg. He brushed his finger against its side, and you felt your heart beating in your chest much more palpable than normal. As you inhaled sharply, he retracted his hand, looking away briefly. Blood rushed to your face and you looked towards your plants.

The two of you sat in awkward silence for a moment as he finished his salmon before you caught sight of two orange butterflies in your yard. They flew around each other, tumbling through the air before one of them stopped at the passion vine that adorned the trellis and the other flitted around it.

"Oh!" you shouted, eager to fill the void with light conversation. You pointed at the two little beings by the plant. "Look! Butterflies!"

Mortarion's eyes shot towards your little friends. "That's what they look like," he remarked. "I did not expect their wings to be so... extravagant."

"Oh, I think I forgot to mention that," you said, your face going warm again. "Well, that's a Gulf Fritillary. Some people call it the Passion Butterfly, but my mom always called it the first one. Oh, oh! Can you see the iridescent spots on them? They're a little far..."

He nodded. "They have little black borders around them."

"Oh, you can see those?" you asked, your eyes going wide. "I can only see them when they're really close." You let out a slight chuckle before looking down at him. He was awestruck, to say the least. His eyes were trained on the small bugs. His tail swished in the pool, and the rest of him was as still as a statue.

"I have never seen creatures such as these," he remarked after a little while.

"Well, there's plenty of them to see here, especially this time of year," I said. "You see that plant over there? That's a passion vine, it's a host plant for more than one species of butterfly. The Zebra Longwing actually competes with the Gulf Fritillary for this plant!" The butterflies had been moving along the plant, trailing lower and lower.

Mortarion's eyes were still trained on them. "What's the Zebra Longwing like?" he asked.

"Slightly smaller," you said, shifting slightly at the poolside. Your leg brushed against his hand again. Your eyes widened and you tensed up. He turned around to look at you, and you relaxed. He wasn't here to hurt you.

"Is... is that okay?" he asked, his voice low yet raspy.

You nodded, slowly at first before your movement became more vigorous. "It is," you said, lowering your hand to touch his. His eyes widened before he looked up at you.

"Care to join me in the pool?" he asked. He shut his eyes before opening them, looking around almost in terror.

You looked down at your outfit. Shorts that were neither too long nor too short, and a white tank top with a red design stenciled into it. You got up, and he retracted his hand, still staring at you.

"I would love to," you said. "Just let me get changed real quick."

So Everything Everywhere All at Once huh

No, but genuinely, this film is so fucking incredible!

And I'm glad to see we're on the same page, 'cause I every time I watch this movie, I also spend the last 15-20 mins weeping uncontrollably lol

There are so many facets of it that make me feel as though my heart is clawing its way out of my chest: The enduring message of hope and resilience and compassion—that nothing matters on a cosmic scale, and that things are going to knock the air out of our lungs and leave us reeling with pain. But we create meaning. We are not alone and we are not fundamentally unloveable or worthless or wrong. And we are deserving of care and for people to try to understand and SEE us.

It also (imo) deals with depression and suicidality in such an evocative and important way. Jobu's apathy and exhaustion is so relatable. And the scene where Evelyn reaches into the bagel to pull her daughter back from the precipice of self-destruction? Instant tears. Sobbing uncontrollably.

I also really love the way it subverts the notion of masculinity as something that is emotionally closed-off and dismissive. Waymond is a hero by virtue of his compassion and gentleness (Pop Culture Detective has a really good video on the topic here)

And of course, the mommy issues. A woman traveling through all of time and space—ripping a hole in the side of the universe—just to get her mother to see and accept her? To have someone understand her? Painfully relatable. Send help.

Cariño — Sero Hanta x reader

notes: ah yes, this is the chapter where i infodump about my oc's quirk to you (the reader has a bug quirk, just want to point it out in case you havent read the previous chapter). technically my oc is infodumping to izuku but its the same thing actually. also i forcefemmed izuku lol shes a girl now, i hit her with the Trans Blast. this chapter is pretty long but doesnt focus much on the story of sero and the reader, so next chapter will probably be a shorter one that focuses on a really important scene between them.

You were walking down the hallway, holding your books close to your chest. With your eyes trained on the ground moving beneath you, you thought about your new friends: Mina, Kirishima, Bakugou, Jirou, Denki, and technically an old friend—Sero.

You barely knew them for a day, but they already meant so much to you. Insects don’t get enough love, but the way they treated you made it seem like they were making up for all the prejudice against you. 

In ways, they’re like bugs themselves; Mina looks very bug-like, Kirishima can harden his body to be like an exoskeleton, and Jirou can use her earphone jacks like antennae.

Denki can use his electricity to communicate—you found this out by the electricity in the air around you pulsing rhythmically in a frequency that was much too high for any human to hear, but of course you heard it. The message was in binary code, but when you tried to decode it, it ended up being only gibberish.

Bakugou and Sero don’t have that many similarities to bugs, unfortunately. I mean, I guess that Sero’s tape could be used like a spider’s web because it’s sticky, but other than that you simply can’t find any connections.

Lost in your thoughts, you didn’t realize you were on a collision path with another girl from your class until you were both knocked to the ground, notebooks and textbooks scattered everywhere.

“Oh my God, I’m s-s-s-so s-sorry! Oh, gosh, this is the second time today this has happened, are you alright?! I really wasn’t looking where I was going-“

“ACK!! Sorry, sorry, sorry! I wasn’t paying attention! Please let me help you clean up! Which of these textbooks are mine-“

You stopped talking over eachother and both looked up with wide eyes. 

The girl you crashed into had messy, untamable short green hair, big green eyes and long eyelashes. Freckles dotted her round cheeks. She stood up and spoke with intensity, almost yelling;

“IT’S YOU!!”

You jumped a bit and lifted a hand, pointing at your own face.

“M-me? What? What about me?”

The girl started fumbling over the books on the ground, hunting for something specific. She was a mess, in more ways than one. Her tie was tied wrong, she had buttoned her uniform jacket unevenly, and there was already a rip on the knee of her leggings she wore under her skirt. She was all over the place mentally, as well. 

Finally, she held a tattered old notebook in the air in triumph. She sat down on the ground in front of you and opened it up as she spoke.

“I’ve been wanting to ask you about your quirk since I first saw you! Let me find a new page- So, it’s very similar to Asui’s quirk, right? She can do anything a frog can do, and you can do anything a bug can do, correct? Your hair is interesting, it’s iridescent, could it be made out of the same material as a spider’s web, maybe? I wonder if you can make the same material as a spider…”

She began muttering, her eyes wandering along with her mind.

“Wait wait wait wait, what? Can you slow down, please? And can we clean up and then talk about this in class… Maybe?” Your voice sounded timid as you started reaching for strewn books again.

“Oh, right, right, sorry! My bad!

Now, here you are, sitting in your homeroom classroom waiting for class to start. The girl introduced herself as Izuku Midoriya, “But you can call me by my first name, Izuku.” She had said with a wide grin.

Her seat was directly in front of you, and she was sitting on her chair backwards with her notebook against the back of the chair, writing things down at lightning speed as you talked.

“First of all, I want to talk about your exoskeleton. How strong is it?”

You leaned forward over your desk a little bit. 

“It’s stronger than human bones, it has to be if there’s not things like fat and muscle to soften blows. I don’t know any exact measurements, but my exoskeleton can take some pretty hard hits, and it’s immune to fire as well. I think it needs to be stronger though, so I’ve been eating a lot of foods with chitin and calcium to strengthen it.”

Izuku nodded along, muttering her own additions here and there.

“Interesting, interesting. Ok, next up, your, um,”

She gestured at the sides of her mouth, indicating where your pincers are.

“My pincers,” you supplied.

“Yes! your pincers,” she drew a quick sketch of you.

“Do they interfere with eating? Do they help with eating? Can you use them to hold things? Oh, your hero costume, I noticed that you had these- these green and pink things attached to them to make them longer, it looked metallic-“ Damn, for someone so shy, she talks a lot.

“Ok, well, umm,” you rock back and forth in your chair a bit while thinking of how to answer her questions the most accurately. 

“They can interfere with eating some things, like foods that are too wide to fit in my mouth, like, a big sandwich, i don’t know, and they can’t really help me eat because they can’t reach my mouth. And I can hold some things with them, as long as they fit between my pincers. As for my hero costume, I designed those pincer extensions so I can utilize them as a weapon. I imagine it would hurt a lot to be bitten by them, and you’re right, they are made of metal.”

Izuku’s eyes were laser focused on her notebook.

“Excellent! Ok, so how do your antennae work?”

“W-well, uh, it’s kinda hard to explain because we don’t experience senses the same, but it’s kind of like… like… hmm… no, wait, I know! They work like a cat’s whiskers, I can pick up on vibrations with them!”

“So, it’s sort of like seeing and feeling at the same time?”

“Well, it’s all the senses at the same time, except for taste.”

“I see! Wait, if seeing is included in your antennae’s function, then why do you have big bug eyes? Also why do you need glasses?”

“Ah…” You laughed awkwardly. “I don’t really know why I have both eyes and antennae, but for my glasses- Well, they’re actually designed to obstruct my vision. If you’ll look at the rims of the lenses-“

you removed your glasses and held them out for Izuku to see. 

“There’s this shading there, right? Because I can sense so much it overwhelms me a lot, and it starts to hurt my brain, which causes me to shut down. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a bug or if it’s because I have autism.”

“This is amazing, let’s keep going- Wait, you’re autistic? ME TOO!”

She squealed and brought her hands to cup her face in delight.

“I’ve never had another autistic friend besides Kacchan! Wait, this means we’re friends, right?” She gazed at you with hopeful eyes.

“Yes!! I’ve also never had another autistic friend! Well, I kind of haven’t had any friends… for a while… So yay, friends!”

Throughout your interactions, you’ve kept thinking about how similar you two are.

“Yippie! Ok, moving on- I need to get as much information as possible. Ok, alright, what is your hair made of? It’s all shiny and iridescent.”

You brought a hand to your hair before speaking, twirling strands between your fingers. “It’s made of the same material as my wings. It’s really useful because I can use a bunch of products on it and see how it affects my hair, and if it has a positive affect I’ll use it on my wings.”

“This is fascinating. May I see your wings?”

Her eyes shone at you from underneath her bangs as she asked that question. 

“Ah- W-well, you see, uh…” You grew flustered, looking down and covering your face with a hand.

“That would be… Kind of really intimate… For me…”

Your wings are hidden beneath a shell on your back that bulges out, called an elytra. the elytra is significantly stronger than the rest of your exoskeleton, but in order to fly you have to open up your elytra. This is not exactly ideal because while the rest of your body has plates of exoskeleton to keep you safe, your back is barren and soft in order to keep your wings undamaged. Exposing your weak back to fly is one thing, but exposing it just for someone to look at is entirely another.

Izuku’s face turned a bit red. “Oh! Sorry, sorry, sorry, I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable! Let’s move on, then. Umm, so, fuel. Bugs have to eat sugar—like nectar and stuff—to keep them functioning, right? Thats just what I heard, but is it true for you?”

Grateful for the change of topic, you moved your hand from covering your face to resting your chin on it. 

“Yep, it’s true for me. Sato’s quirk makes it so he can use sugar to enhance his physical abilities, right? Well, I have to eat a minimum of 40 grams a day just to make sure my body doesn’t shut down, and more than that if I wanna perform well. It’s kind of annoying, really.”

“I see. I’ll keep that in mind. So, what about your arms? Do they ever get in the way of eachother? Are they well-coordinated when you fight?”

“Hmm… Sometimes they get in the way of eachother, but I would say they’re well-coordinated. I’ve never had only 2 arms though, so I don’t think I would know the difference.” You let out a slightly awkward laugh at the end of your sentence.

Izuku was busy writing down all her notes on you in her notebook. Taking a closer look at her, you’ve just noticed the yellow handkerchief tied around Izuku’s head and sticking out of her hair.

“Wow, I like your bow.”

“T-thank you! I like your headband!”

You were wearing a plain headband the same color as Izuku’s handkerchief. You touch it thoughtfully at the compliment.

From there, the conversation drifted away from your quirk and towards fashion. You were both chattering excitedly about how you designed your hero costumes, and then started talking about what you like to wear when you’re not wearing the school uniform, until you were interrupted by other students entering the classroom.

Izuku sits forward in her seat again as more students begin trickling in. You were looking out the window when you felt a tap on your shoulder.

Okay, so, if I had to give a reason for liking ocean liners, the answer is probably that I'm a mega-autist. However, it started in the 5th grade. Like everyone else, Titanic was my gateway drug. That eventually expanded into other ocean liners.

If I had to recommend one to learn more about, it would easily be the SS America.

She had a long and storied 55-year-long career. I highly recommend the documentary by Oceanliner Designs on YouTube. However, I will give an abridged version of her story beneath the cut. It's a thrilling story, so if you're interested, don't read this; go watch his video. Its better:

Designed by the famous naval architect William Francis Gibbs, she was launched on August 31st, 1939. The day before World War II began. She was actually part of FDRs new deal program, meant to help the United States recover from the great depression. Her construction employed thousands of people, and nearly every state contributed to her in some way. She was built to a 3 compartment standard, meaning with 3 of her 14 watertight compartments flooded, shed stay afloat. This is actually better than most modern cruise ships, I might add. She was completed on April 16th, 1940, but given all the U-Boats everywhere, she couldn't exactly serve as a transatlantic liner. So the maiden voyage of this ocean liner was actually a Mediterranean cruise. United States Lines actually painted two giant American flags on each side of her hull, with the text “AMERICA UNITED STATES LINES” in big, bold letters, just in case they somehow did encounter a U-Boat.

America was a neutral country at the time, so that kind of thing was important to advertise. Eventually, the US got pulled into the war, and the SS America was requisitioned as a troopship and renamed the USS West Point. I don't know if this is confirmed, but I suspect that it's because if she were lost in the war, announcing that a ship bearing the name of our country had been lost to enemy action would be a huge blow to morale. When her running mate, the SS United States, was constructed, the US government tried to pressure William Francis Gibbs into giving her a different name for this exact reason. It didn't work. I love him. Anyway, here's a picture of her during her service.

The SS America carries the honor of being one of the few ships to never have a single death occur on board during the war. She might have actually been the only one. Anyway, in 1946, she was returned to United States Lines and renamed back to SS America. This time, when they repainted her back to her civilian colors, they ditched the name and flags on the sides of her hull. (Thank god.) Her career with USL was successful, if uneventful. In 1952, the SS United States was introduced. The Big U was about 267 feet longer, twice the size, and twice the speed. Given that the SS United States is still, to this day, the fastest passenger ship of all time, America had a little bit of trouble keeping up. America's passenger numbers fell after this, but she still had many loyal passengers who preferred her. The SS United States’ interior design was a tad lackluster compared to the SS America.

With rising operating costs and competition from air travel, she was deemed an unnecessary part of the USL fleet. In 1964, they put America up for sale. She was bought by Chandrice Line, which serviced the postwar emigrant run from Europe to Australia and New Zealand.

America was renamed Australis and served them until 1977, when, faced with ever-increasing fuel costs, could no longer compete with air travel. She is remembered to this day by many of the emigrants as being a very happy ship, but Chandrice didn't exactly maintain her very well. On one voyage, part of her hull opened up, and a compartment partially flooded. The crew was unable to fix it, and for the rest of the 3 week voyage, she had an awful list over to one side.

Now comes the most shameful part of her career. In 1978, she was bought by Venture Cruise Lines for 5 million dollars. Seeking to capitalize on nostalgia, they offered 5 day cruises to nowhere. To prepare her for this new role, they repainted her in what was definitely her second-ugliest configuration, and they gave her her old name back.

And then they kinda… stopped. They made no effort to modernize her (a ship constructed in the 1930s), and her interiors were, for lack of a better word, a dump. The swimming pool was full of garbage bags, toilets were overflowing, and there were rats and bugs everywhere. It was a nightmare. Truly, a predecessor to the poop cruise from hell. The passengers on her first cruise actually mutinied, and the ship barely made it past the Statue of Liberty before the captain turned her around. The health inspection board was called in, and they examined the ship. They gave her a score of 6.

Out of a possible 100.

Venture went bust, and America was put up for sale again.

Shockingly, the ones who bought her were Chandrice Line again, for 1 million dollars. Meaning they profited 4 million dollars while also getting their ship back in the process. She was renamed AGAIN to Italis, and her forward funnel was so corroded that it had to be cut off, giving her an extremely ugly and unbalanced profile. Even to the lay person, most can tell at this point that she looked very sad.

Her final years with Chandrice were short and uneventful, only lasting 2 years. Chandrice wanted to completely modernize her and have her serve as a modern cruise ship, but this never happened. She then bounced around from owner to owner. First, she was the Noga, intended to become a prison ship. Then she was the Alferdoss, but only the port bow was the Alferdoss, because they only put the name on one side of the hull. So the starboard bow and the stern were still the Noga. She was nearly sold for scrap, but after they scrapped the lifeboats, they defaulted on their payment and pulled out. Then, she was bought by a Thai investment firm, which intended to completely restore her and convert her into a 5-star hotel, much like the Queen Mary had in the 1970s. After a short period of drydocking, it was found that, despite the neglect, her hull was in remarkably good condition. The trip from New Zealand to Phuket, Thailand, was a long and dangerous one. Approximately 100 days. A Ukrainian tug won the contract, and in 1994, they set off…

only to immediately turn around due to the weather. They tried again, and again the weather turned against them. The tow line snapped, and they sent crew aboard to try to reattach it, but it was no use. They were airlifted off by helicopter, and the SS America, now named SS American Star, was set adrift. There was no one aboard, and the ship had no power. Seemingly tired of the years of neglect and mistreatment, the SS America decided to go out on her own terms. She went aground at Playa de Garcey, off the west coast of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. Within 48 hours, the pounding waves broke her in two.

She was declared a total loss and promptly abandoned. The waves quickly ate through the stern, causing it to deteriorate very quickly. The bow, however, remained standing, up until about 2008, when it began collapsing into the sea.

It's difficult to imagine that at one point, this was the grand old lady of the seas.

By 2013, nothing of her was left standing above the surface.

Along with her eye-achingly beautiful appearance, she had an extremely long and storied career. So that's why she's my favorite liner of all time. Most liners only last 25 to 35 years. Hell, the SS United States was only in service for 17 years. The SS America had a 55-year-long career. 74 if you count the time she spent wrecked, as she frequently got visitors. She was a truly outstanding ship, and I'm devastated that she couldn't be preserved. If it's any consolation, Phuket was struck by a major typhoon in 2004, so America was probably doomed regardless. If I could pick one liner from history to undo the fate of and magically preserve, it would EASILY be her.

Holly is a employee for him! She does mostly whatever he asks, but you see her mostly as the game tables (..she might have a sillllly gambling addiction totally noy a serious onnneee..) and help bartend when needed. she also sorta a pain in brulos ass/aff bc she easily gets aggressive to some customers and does say some light jabs at him but she does really enjoy her job. and shes actually the sweetest around him, he sorta calms her down a fuck ton so easily

Holly is a fallen angel! She sorta got kicked out from heaven for her violent, protective outbursts . She had 3 adopted kids up there who was basically her life, but when you have that taken away she sorta. justtt.. disliked heaven and everything else.

She actually worked with satan for a small bit since he allowed her to go nuts with her anger, but she realized he was tooooo ✨️dramatic✨️/silly and sorta left and wandered around Broiler city till she got a job at bru/los casino!

Holly actually sorta gained feelings for him first after a few months, since..he actually seemed pretty nice and stuff. Yeah hes stressed out of his god damn mind but still! Anyway about Jean and Jacob headcanon I don't really see it. They're are just Two French men who had the same initials on their names and in older versions of the game they were part of the same regiment long time ago, which in my opinion is... that's all? They just share some characteristics, and you think they're family. Not offense, Dot Anon. U can still have that headcanon despite me not liking it. Something you really need to know is that I disagree with canon and popular fanon. (There are times that I can agree with popular fanon in case is a smaller fandom or the headcanons are intrested) creating my own fanon at once. Also Gaspard is some replacement or equivalent to that hc Jean ig?

So yeah... About Jean. I am not sure if Jean being a polite man who cares about others is main stream even if I disagree with fanon too dosn't mean I can take stuff about it. But yeah he is also that but the exception Jean has trauma beofre even the Napoleonic wars or the Blight  events happend. He raised in bad environment only being guide by his aunts during his childhood and teens seeing how people can act if despair is everywhere. Jean promise to take care of his aunts who where the only people that he trust and not only them but people who is in need. When he joined the war, he was cautious with everyone else but thanks to his optimistic views he gain respect to his regiment. The Blight expands around Europe and Jean and his regiment meet members of the 2ème Régiment du Génie and guess who was there too!

Jean saw Jacob bieng taking advantage of to take all the work the other members of his regiment don't want to do. Something that make him feel bugged out and confront Jacob for it. Jacob not used to people approaching him out of nowhere, he just explained that he needs to work in case the cannibals attack both armies and kept working. Jean won't he would remain with his arms crossed and makes sure Jacob takes care of himself and catch a break. During this time Jacob slowly begin to trust Jean even finally open to him and concider him as a friend. Until both regiments have to go by their own paths. Separaring the two friends in a war between the undead and the living.

Until the two finally reunite in Roscoff bucz Survivor AU.

Jean is basically the dopamine producer of this AU along Barry and other of my OCs and Jacob (and Millard) is force to have a overdose of it beacuse I have traumatized him a lot!!

Thier relationship is just Two friends that help each other and like to chat a lot. But they're times Jacob again forgot stuff so Jean (Barry, Klaus, Christian, Bell guy and my OCs also do the same thing with) him has to remind him that he dosn't have to overwork himself a lot.

Day six : Favorite AU

First of all, sorry for not posting yesterday… I wasn’t feeling well yesterday, but I’m oki today :3 I’ll be posting two posts today🌸

now onto my coming story and infodump🌸✨

Meet Viney🌸 An experiment gone right “or wrong” at least that’s what Baron Draxum would say. During his creation, the caprid Yokai thought of making a vicious axolotl that’ll track down the turtles and bring them to him ‘without fail’. That- didn’t happen and the vicious axolotl that Baron thought he made… turned into something much more cuter. Small as a baby, the axolotl looked up to her creator to think he was her dad. Draxum didn’t like that, but! Eventually warmed up to the small one and took his own creation as his child. Huggin and Munnin however kept cooing and saying how cute the creation was. Pretty sure Draxum didn’t like the cute thing, but he was ok with it. One day, he decided to tell the axolotl her power, the ability to create vines with her mind. “Close your eyes and stay focused, imagine a vine and make sure. Don't” Baron said, only for Viney to be distracted by Huugin and Munnin playing ball. “This’ll take some time” the creator huffed. Days turned into weeks, turned into months, and eventually, turned into years. During those times, Baron decided on a name for the axolotl, Viney. As a 15 year old, Viney finally mastered her telepathic power and well, decided to play around with the gargoyles which seemed to be her ONLY friends at the time. When suddenly… it was her time. Baron put her on a mission to find the turtles : A red, blue, orange and purple. “But be careful, the outside world can be dangerous. I have my full trust on you little one” Viney nodded and hugged her creator, or well “dad” as she would put it, and swung out out of the Hidden City into the human world. Once she was in the sewers, Viney lifted the sewer lid to hear a honk, seeing light and an oncoming thing with four wheels, Viney immediately closed the lid back on to wait for it to be quiet, when it was quiet enough, Viney lifted up from the sewers and put the lid back on the road to notice the hustle and bustle of the city (mind that she didn’t know she had a brooch) being called out, yelled at and almost exposed to the internet for people to think she was a mascot or cosplaying as a cute Axolotl. “Aww, what a cute costume!!” A lady said while passing by Viney, which she stopped to hold out her phone to take a picture of the axolotl. Knowing the rectangle shape of the phone and the flash of it. It was everywhere and she couldn’t escape, only to use her telepathic powers and make herself a dome to protect herself to the screams of horror from the outside. Hours went by and the small axolotl was exhausted for her energy to go low and sleep. Until… A giant alligator turtle sees the small thing just laying there, he thought she was unconscious and since she was an axolotl yokai (he saw the brooch) it wasn’t safe for her axolotl form to just be running around in New York carelessly. Cradling the small thing, Viney wakes up to panic, thinking she was being kidnapped by a… friendly giant turtle with a red eye mask??? Raph, she met Raphael Hamato. Leading Viney to the hideout so she’ll be safe and not to be exposed by a crowd of humans again. There she meets Leo, Mikey and Donnie. Soon to meet April (which they went shopping for the axolotl to transform into a teenage girl with big brown eyes and short wavy brown hair before they went out). Thinking Viney already found the turtles and thought to bring them, Baron noticed the delay and was warned by Shredder if Viney doesn’t come back with the turtles, Draxum would have problems. Viney isn’t the Villian Baron thought she’d be. Instead, Viney ended up to be sweet and a bubbly smol axolotl🌸✨

Meanwhile with Viney and the turtles in the lair. Mikey was making a flower crown for Viney in which April comes in with Pizza. Confused, the turtles gasped on Viney’s lack of knowledge of pizza. So they brought her to the two pizza places she would probably like. After that, she was fond of pizza and whenever a new person would come in, she’d think of bringing them to the same pizza place’s in which the turtles brought her. She was now friends with the turtles. She knew Donnie likes science, but there was also a cool place to dress up in kimonos and eat, she thought Donnie also likes the fanciest things in life, but until she noticed he wasn’t ok with it and they decided to head back home and to teach Viney how to make her own drone, like Sheldon which Flora was born! And flora and Sheldon lived happily ever after, lol.

On other days, Viney would squeeze in a day to make Mikey a flower crown too🌸✨

honestly it’s just as bonkers as it sounds.

the plot for most series is just “antics on spaceship that’s here to make friends,” minus deep space nine (our captain has become space Jesus and now we need to save bajor from fascism) and voyager (oh shit we’re lost)

so all the crews are part of starfleet, the federation of planets’ military if the military was nice and did science and didn’t shoot people for fun. point is they try to make contact with other countries planets and help those who need it et cetera. and sometimes they meet Abraham Lincoln. it’s just like that my dude.

anyway the fandom became a thing in the 60s because the writers and actors somehow made spock and kirk really subtextually (honestly textually) gay for each other and people everywhere went “oh my god.” and it just kept getting more gay with more characters over the years and the rest is fandom history.

on a more serious note there’s some great social commentary sprinkled throughout all the questionable and funny episodes. like the jadzia/lenara kiss or the episode about police brutality that takes place in..2024. yeah. sometimes it’s like that and sometimes janeway gets turned into a lizard and has lizard children with tom fucking paris. I love that show.

if you ever want to dive into this wacky world I’d recommend starting with tos or tng, they start off a little slow sometimes but trust me it’ll get good. it always does.

this one is PERFECT because i've actually been researching flower symbolism so i could draw us with matching flower tattoos anywayyyy n loves to get me flowers hehe. when going for something simple, it's just baby's breath and red roses, they complement each other nicely. but when going all in for a special occasion, the bouquet would have baby's breath, white carnations, forget-me-nots, morning glories, red roses, and red salvia. i don't even know if that would look good lol

ooh, i'll be totally honest, i'm not super familiar with the kind of food you can get at fancy restaurants lol. but i will do my best! n would order something vegetarian, maybe a pasta? and my taste is pretty eclectic when it comes to food, so whatever catches my eye, with a preference for lamb or steak if the restaurant has it. we'd also get a bottle of wine to split. and of course we'd get a dessert, and definitely would share!! sharing a dessert is so romantic hehehe

aquarium dates are our FAVORITE!!! i drag n everywhere to look at everything and am constantly infodumping it is amazing. and he also infodumps because he loves animals/pokemon toooo it's so good. and every time we go we end up with a new plushie to add to the collection. obviouslyyyy i love seeing the cephalopods, and n doesn't really have a favorite? he really likes the touch pools though :) especially if the people there can tell him how the animals are cared for.

I know i’m probably so late to tell you but the art specifically is from artist Félix González-Torres, PLEASE look up his other works especially about his partner it’s all so beautiful and so devastating. I didn’t know much about the AIDS crisis when I saw his work for the first time at 13 and it prompted more research and just. God. He loved that man so much and the emotions evoked from his absolute adoration and grief gives me more feelings than I’ve had in years. I have to take deep breaths between each piece from how deeply I feel them. The one circulating right now is Untitled: (Portrait of Ross in L.A.) and every time I see that pile of candy I want to cry.

Sorry if this message is weird I am a bit drunk and very gay and I love all the queer art from that time while simultaneously hating the loss of *so much more* they all could have done. The sheer devastation to our community was hard to comprehend until I looked at the art and now I see it everywhere and it’s beautiful and haunting and the most indescribably loving art I have ever seen.

I had more to say but I’ll cut my infodump short, I just love the artist and all the art that carries our history. I don’t even follow you just saw your post. You’re an incredible person, and I hope if you look it up that it will open parts of your heart and your mind and your identity that you never knew were there, and it will be beautiful. I know this is a heavy ask, sorry about getting emotional. You are loved, cared for, and thought of every day. You are cherished and remembered constantly, even by people you may not remember. Even after you’re gone, after everyone is gone, there will still be love. There will still be art. I look back, as I hope decades or centuries in the future, and see so much love and hope in their art when everything was falling down. Our art, community art, is and will continue to build on the grief, on the fear, but it will build strongest on our love. We’ve never met, but I tell everyone I talk to - I love you.
