Poor thing was just trying to help him out a tiny bit with his place before hiding. Even if she was his guardian angel, he did scare her to a insane degree. She stiffened when she heard his voice and mentally yelling at herself for stopping and hiding earlier. Even if she wanted to go, she couldn't. She was assigned Dom even if he liked it or not.

She was folding a blanket up and was about to put it in its usual spot she noticed it was at but got spotted by the man.

"I..i'm assigned to you. I-i can't leave"

She forced herself to speak quickly before getting yelled at or threatened again.

Geraldine was living her nightmares. At every turn, she was being asked not just if Ollivanders would continue selling wands to Muggleborns but her opinion on it. The evening the rumor appeared, she and her grandpa sat down to lay out a plan. It didn’t take ten minutes for them to decide on a blanket “no comment.” The only people who deserved a legitimate answer—Muggleborns who came into the shop, asking if they would be helped—would receive a more direct “Of course,” and if they pressed, “the policies of Ollivander’s hasn’t changed in the last two millennia, so it is safe to assume they won’t in the near future.”

Perhaps it was glib, but it was better than anything that could be considered a stand. They were not doing this to make a point; they were doing it because Ollivander’s did not change. It was a permanent, steadfast establishment in Diagon Alley and known throughout Britain and beyond for a reason. They survived Grindelwald and Merwyn the Maleficent; they dated as far back as Herpo the Foul himself. They would weather whatever this was as stubbornly neutral as ever.

No matter how firmly Geraldine believed in that neutrality—and she did, clutching her beliefs tighter to her chest than ever—it didn’t change the reactions of those around her. Suddenly, people she didn’t know were winking at her and calling her a “friend.” Some of her actual friends had snapped or shouted at her, hurling accusations when she refused to address the rumors. A man outside of Gringotts said maybe they shouldn’t help her there; she couldn’t guess which side he was on.

Even today, there was a piece of paper pinned to the shop door when she came to unlock it. Geraldine tore it down without reading it, but faltered when she reached down and found she couldn’t open the door.

“They stole the doorknob?” Geraldine said incredulously. “Of all things. How did they even…” She ran her hand over the flat door, shaking her head to herself. What she wanted to know was who had put this out there in the first place. She wanted a person she could blame her stress on, unwilling to acknowledge that taking a stand might also offer some relief. It wasn’t their fault that someone was spreading misinformation.

A shadow stopped behind her as Geraldine drew her wand. “If you give me just a minute, I’ll be happy to let you in and assist you—and we will assist you. It’s just proving a little trickier today.”

okay so i thought it was fine. I think the performances are great and the characters (even though they kind of rush through them) all get enough characterization and pathos to make them distinct, motivated and emotionally engaging. i think some of the writing is a little basic but regarding the limited time that the show has for each of them, it's quite competent. the soundtrack is great, the visuals are great, the costume/set design helps to characterize the world and its people (i especially enjoy merwyn's flimsy ethereal dresses and her entirely unpractical armor - says so much about her character).

what i thought was kind of lame, and i think many people thought that, is the origin story aspect? i don't think anyone was asking who the first witcher was and if they were, then they probably know enough about witchers to have even more questions now. like aren't they sterile. isn't that the point. i don't know if the explanation of their origins answers any relevant questions or adds anything interesting except for there was a guy and he was like, so buff. if anything, the conjunction of the spheres is where it gets interesting and i thought, although rushed, they showed what it does to this world and how it is brought about. the empire does an empire and tries to reach even farther, colonize even more lands and that leads, obviously, to a natural disaster and also a cultural clash that lasts until the present day. they do this because they exploit the one's beneath them and they are dependent on this exploitation, which makes them fear the very people on whose necks they stand. they need the resources and they need new subjects and also, most of all, a beast to keep them down.

the pacing is a little fast, but imo that makes the show engaging to watch. so yeah 7/10

i changed her lore a while ago buttttt! Shes related to them! the secret king who rules the secret realm and created the eyes to help mortals out, but since the realm was so huge he created secret keepers! amd guess what margarita is? Shes a secret keeper and can help make secret eyes and stuff!
