the vibe i get from paul wesley's kirk is "post-Tarsus genocide, post-Farragut massacre, survivin' not thriving" and it's perfect. shatner's kirk was thriving. drop all the hints on how kirk got from point a to b

I want Kirk and Spock to kiss in snw not because it would be good but because it would piss off William Shatner immensely

Devastated that my partner joked about Kirk and Spock meeting with a "brisk handshake" before this episode aired. I laughed and said they'd never do that because it was a very intimate gesture.
I was planning to make a very silly comic about that as a dumb joke to say the writers wouldn't have them shake hands. But I had such a busy week so I never got around to it, and now I'll never get the chance because it only would have aged well if I'd gotten to it BEFORE THE EPISODE AIRED. UGH. And now nobody will ever believe me so it isn't worth making it. 💔

In Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Young AU Kirk takes the opportunity to buy hot dogs for himself and La'an; making it a point of survival.
He also takes the opportunity to try poutine. AU Kirk was born on a starship, during a war with the Romulans, where Earth and it's resources are a distant memory. Food, probably grown on the moon, is at a premium.
In Lost in Translation, Young Lt Kirk. Finds out that the Enterprise's kitchen is making real chocolate chip cookies...
...offering to bring back some to Uhura.
This Kirk, if this goes along with TOS canon, was the the survivor of a mass execution, as a result of a food shortage on the colony at Tarsus IV
In any universe, probably as a result of childhood trauma, it appears food is young Jim Kirk's love language...
