Something I miss from earlier eras of the creative side of the internet was things just being unabashedly low-budget. Just all unashamedly amateur, unprofessional, ‘I don’t own a good camera but I have a story to tell you’, ‘I can’t afford a good mic but I have a song to sing for you,’ ‘I don’t have any kind of background in editing or lighting and I only just picked up this guitar last Tuesday but here’s an entire musical me and my friends wrote about our favourite book, we filmed it on a potato and put it up on YouTube in ten minute segments because we thought it was pretty funny.’
#everything felt so much less like Content then#and as someone who wants to share creative stuff online#it’s now incredibly daunting thinking about doing that bc#especially as a disabled person who can’t work full time#it feels almost impossible to extricate art from being Content#like there’s this immense pressure to produce things that could pass as professionally produced by a team of educated people#and to make smart decisions so that somehow eventually you can profit off your art#and instead of it being a ‘hey look at my silly little song’ it becomes#competing in an over saturated market already dominated by the nepotism afforded by wealth and connections#and it feels like it would very difficult not to measure my personal satisfaction with how a certain piece of art turned out#by how much attention it got online#even though I genuinely have zero desire to be famous and it sounds like a complete nightmare#anyway I’m gonna have ice cream for dinner how about you guys#hmp42

i am not anti-media-piracy, in fact i support it heartily on the media preservation level, and i have mixed but partially positive feelings about it on the individual choice/saving money level...
but the way some people talk about piracy like it's a heroic thing to do - not in the preservation sense, but in the 'fuck companies!!! if i can get something for free and screw them over, I'm fighting capitalism!' sense - oh some people sound like real goobers with those arguments.
#to me it's ... complicated#bc 100% i don't want media to be lost#and i have lots and lots of issues iwth the way modern entertainment companies try to extract profits/don't share revenue appropriately wit#all the people who actually MAKE the art.#i have lots of issues with that...!#however i am also an artist and have the crazy belief that art including movies tv games etc has value#and in our current world... paying for art/entertainment you enjoy is like... the way to ensure it is possible#do i dream of a utopia with UBI/guaranteed arts funding where we didn't have to depend on corporations to make art as investments?#of course i do!#however i don't believe that is likely to come to pass anytime soon....#and like... no i dont think anyone is a Rotten Person to the Core for pirating tv/movies#however. i do firmly believe that paying for art when you are able and when you value it is important.#some people will be like 'boohoo poor companies are mad that i dont pay for their product when i can pirate it for free!!!!'#like yes? it costs a lot of money to make! of course they want a profit#i have issues with the degree to which profits are extracted to the wealthy few in the present day#and i have issues/worries about the fundamental monetization structures of TV especially at the current moment#but i do not have an issue with the basic premise that companies would fund expensive large-scale art (like tv or movies) and expect to mak#a profit from funding such a large project#imo if u truly wanna pretend you're pirating in an anticapitalist way#you'd pirate something then venmo the normal cost to a random employee who worked on the production#lmao#that's still obviously a little flawed but like. u get my point? good. i hope ur having a good day#hypothetical person who reads my rambling tags this deep.#d

funny thing is I don't really have any interest in hoarding knowledge or resources for myself in any way, I'm just bad at publishing stuff because I feel like that'd require a bit more stringent quality control than what I might expect of something made largely for my own use.
sometimes I think maybe I should set up something like a google drive or a git or something to just throw my personal- and work-in-progress stuff for people who are interested, but I dunno what limits for space or bandwidth or anything are like.
like I'm sure some people would possibly find the ColorSet unpacker python script useful?? It kinda sucks through and I want to make a better version of it and maybe one that could work as a standalone executable instead? and possibly a packer counterpart to the unpacker?? But also I keep thinking like "would this even be useful to anyone lmao??"
in theory you could probably make some kind of art program plugin that does all of this for you - even the bit with loading actual colorset information into layered colorset pairs, but I mean that's a lot of effort and I still largely use a 20+ year old version of Paint Shop Pro myself so...
#honestly the thing is i think more people should be able to do what i do#whether that is posing or model editing or whatever#keeping the knowledge exclusive only aid those who seek profit#while making it public empowers us all to create#imo that's what real democratisation of art is#giving everyone access to the tools and the knowledge involved#and hoping that if they come up with some new ideas or techniques#they too will give it back to the community for everyone's benefit#there's that expression about standing on the shoulders of giants#but look the great man theory of history is kinda bullshit#we're not standing on the shoulders of giants#we're standing on the shoulders of all of humanity#both those past and present#this is why i love openly collaborative environments#like open source or a lot of modding scenes or the like#sure you still get clashing egos and drama and whatever#but there's this idea that if we openly share our work then we all benefit#it's a rejection of the singular great man#the one visionary auteur#and instead embracing our community-driven nature#look this is something of an ideological thing for me ok#i suck at sharing stuff not because i think sharing is bad#but because i think the things i do aren't good enough#i know that's a silly thing to feel#but i still feel it#emotions care little for reason

Gods I'm so glad I have the power to draw stupid ridiculous things. I've had two ideas in the last week for art pieces that made me cackle like a little gremlin for 30 minutes. And already, my decision to follow through on these ideas has been a great success!
It is very important to feed the silliness gremlin!!! Ze offers gifts of happiness and naturally occurring self-improvement! Should ze wither from lack of food, so shall artistic motivation and the joy I find in my craft!
So you see, it is absolutely vital that the gremlin be allowed to thrive and grow on a steady supply of shitposts and profoundly ridiculous pornography.
This will, in turn, help with my depression - making this fake isekai cover as well as this very dumb video game porn I just made into Medical Necessities, Actually. 😌😤🤡
#original#honestly I don't know if anyone else is going to find these things funny but I am going to share them when I finish#because it doesn't really matter if people have a different sense of humor than me. as long as I'm not hurting people with my jokes then#I'm really at peace with the fact that some of my jokes just aren't going to land#how did I come to peace with that fact? I hung out with people who didn't need me to bat 1000 when it came to social interactions#i love you fellow autistics. i hope you (and anyone reading this) give yourself permission to make something absurd and just for you#it was such a game changer when i realized that in order to be able to take joy in art again i basically had to follow every silly whim#i remember how exciting it was when after years of art only for profit and exposure i just made something just for me. it was incredible#and I know that if I ever want to finish my graphic novel with all its Big Important Meaningful Ideas then i have to make sure it's#not blocking me from feeding the silliness gremlin. I have to get distracted and draw dumb shit. and I have to do it without feeling guilty#because as soon as I feel guilty for doing something fun with my art then the graphic novel has become more of a chore than a work of love#and I refuse to let this be taken from me like that. not again. not with this.#art helps keep me alive and silliness helps keep my art alive! anything threatening my ability to make art poses a threat to my very self#I am deadass serious when I say that silly little things are necessary for living.#and i am very much serious at all when i say i am a GENIUS WHO HAS THE FUNNIEST ISEKAI IDEA EVER#I mean I was well and truly cackling I don't know if you've ever heard someone genuinely cackle in person but I CACKLED#*very much not serious at all

Subbed into a class where the instructor (I was an assistant) was so unpleasant I had no choice but to be as supportive as possible. The kids were glued to my side by the end of the class. Subbed the next week, the kids didn't even bother with the instructor and came to me if they needed help or had questions.
Needless to say, I felt really bad. I did my best to redirect, but the instructor was so clearly disinterested.
Two weeks later, I was doing a walk around to check on everyone as classes started and walked passed the above class (the assistant was back, so I was back to being admin) only for the kids to spot me in the hallway and immediately rush to the door to talk to me and ask to check out their artwork.
Felt so bad for the instructor, but I got to spend the rest of the session with a group of little kids who were so excited to see me every time I ran into one of them. Literally the best.
#work#non profit#kids#art teacher#i refuse to be the adult who crushes a little kid's enthusiasm for something#if my coworker is a dick to their students#i will be those students' best friend every single time#and love every second of it#my favourite thing in the world is when they feel comfortable enough to share what they're working on#i love asking them questions and giving them space to be excited without judgement#people who work with kids but don't like them are the worst

i take payment upfront via paypal or kofi before i will begin working!
estimated turnaround time will be 1 month, though it tends to be shorter than that! however, i'll update you with delays or if it's expected to take any longer than that <3
thanks so much for reading this and for all your support!! 💗

TLDR; All of Quindrie Press' profits from our November PDF sales will be donated to queer and racial equality charities. Browse at www.quindriepress.com/pdfs 🐉
The world is scary and keeps getting scarier. It's easy to look at America and say it would never happen here, but far-right ideology has already taken root in the UK and we cannot allow it to continue. Please stand up for the friends and neighbours whose lives are at risk the longer we stand by and let hatred spread unchecked: queer people, disabled people, people of colour.
I'm doing what little I can to support my community and loved ones. Every month, Quindrie Press donates a portion of its PDF sales to charities or organisations dedicated to supporting marginalised communities in Scotland. This month, alongside November's charity (TIE Campaign, a charity sharing LGBTQ education with Scottish schools), all of Quindrie Press' profits from PDF sales will go towards Refuweegee (a Glasgow-based organisation supporting forcibly-displaced people) and the Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (a charity working to eliminate racial discrimination and harrassment in Scotland).
If you don't want to pick up any of the Quindrie comics, consider donating an equivalent amount to the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund to support the victims of a genocide that the UK is complicit in.
Look into who your local councillors are and write to them about the issues that matter to you. Support movements and campaigns that seek to make a difference. Put yourself in harm's way for the people whose very existence is under threat. Even if it's scary, we have to keep going.

Hangman
IDW Swindle x Reader
• There’s an art to deceiving someone. It’s not in his voice or tone, it’s in finding what they need to believe and taking full advantage. Verbal sleight of hand. And it pays to know what everyone needs, because while he can and will find a buyer anything they desire, it’s information he deals in. Rumors, secrets, and gossip. A lot of it never pans out, but some of it? Sometimes he’s caught completely off guard, like now. Staring at the impossible little human that just blipped into what seems be very painful existence with a choked cry almost in his hands as he’s sorting through inventory. Because apparently that big moron with Krok’s rambling had been true not just his flavor of crazy. Who’d have guessed?
• Eyes streaming as your whole body burns without flames, you’re only dimly aware of falling and hitting something warm. Just curling into yourself, there’s a feeling of pins and needles running through you as you struggle to suck in a breath. What was that? Head lifting slightly, you stare uncomprehendingly at four big cylinders inches from your face, making a noise when they curl toward you and you crane your neck. Because those are hands. And they belong to a monster staring down at you in surprise. There’s no thought beyond getting away, trying to fling yourself out of this thing’s hand. Falling headfirst into a slightly musty smelling mountain of clothes.
• For a tiny thing, you’re surprisingly fast and hard to hold onto. Trying to burrow into his inventory to avoid him, but finally he catches you by a leg and drags you out. Braces for the screaming, but your expression is pure calculation as you twist and try to wiggle free. “Alright, Squishy. Spill. How’d you get on my ship?” Because that’s what he needs. Intel.
• Ship as in space ship? Because this thing gripping you by a leg is definitely not from your planet. You can’t be on his ship. You’d been at work, right? This is definitely not where you’d been only minutes before, though. If big and scary didn’t beam you up, how’d you get here? There’s no time to puzzle it out, because he’s hauling you up by a leg. “Put me down or I’ll lay eggs in you,” you blurt out, feeling like an absolute idiot, because this thing obviously knows about humans. It was human clothes you were rooting through, after all. And that’s what you’d gone with?
• You’re lying to a liar? Lips twitching he vents in amusement. “That so, human? You’re really going to try to con me?” So maybe he doesn’t know that much about actual humans aside from the general squishiness, but he can tell a liar when he sees one. And you’re bad at this. “Try again.”
• Dangling there feeling the blood rushing to your head, you just give up and flip him off with both hands, because if you’re going to die anyway it might as well be with one last petty bit of rebelliousness. And he laughs, nearly dropping you back in the clothes. “You know what? I think we might be able to work together to make a profit,” he says, optics narrowing as his grin widens. Not sure what to make of him or any of this craziness. Then he does drop you into the pile, still laughing as you yelp.

Hello again im the person who asked for the seraphim reader shshs I REALLY REALLY LOVE YOUR WRITING ONG😭😭😭
Im asking again if ya dont mind if you do mine again👉👈 will you do reader as that cat from caroline that always disappeared and have the same attitude as that cat (i forgot the name💔) with Jade, Azul, Jamil. Right what scenarios you can imagine dont mind T v T..
Jade, Azul, Jamil with a 'The Cat'! Reader
hi! thanks for the request <3 (also the cat doesn't have a name iirc, isn't he just "the cat"?)
Jade Leech
Jade, with his poised and enigmatic demeanor, actually enjoys your elusive nature—but that doesn’t mean he’s not intrigued by it. Whenever you slip away from conversations, he’s one of the few who doesn’t immediately react, just giving you a knowing look. He catches on quickly that your disappearances are deliberate, and he plays along, responding with subtle jabs that mirror your own humor.
"I do wonder, where have you been lurking this time? The ceiling? The rafters?" Jade’s tone is teasing, his eyes twinkling like he’s in on a private joke only the two of you share.
You appear behind him without a sound, leaning close enough to whisper, “Maybe I never left.”
Jade doesn’t flinch—he’s used to your antics by now—but there’s a slight quirk of his eyebrow that tells you you’ve gotten under his skin just enough. “Careful, or I might follow next time.”
“If you can,” you reply, your voice full of that Cheshire-like amusement, before disappearing again—though you know he’ll catch up soon enough.
Azul Ashengrotto
Azul finds your habit of appearing and disappearing at will infuriatingly fascinating. You’re always there when he least expects it, often chiming in with sarcastic remarks that leave him rattled. As the sharp, business-minded octopus he is, he tries his best to maintain control in any situation. But with you, his usual composure is constantly tested.
One day, you’re lounging lazily across his desk, legs swinging off the edge, watching him fumble through contracts. “Careful, Azul. Miss a clause, and it’s your soul next.”
Azul nearly jumps out of his chair, gripping his quill a little too tightly. “How did you get in here? This office is private!”
You simply grin, your voice smooth. “Doors are for people who can’t make their own entrances.”
He huffs, straightening his glasses. “If you’re here to disrupt my business, you’ll need to schedule an appointment like everyone else.”
“Or,” you say, your figure already fading into thin air as you lazily wave a hand, “I’ll just pop in when it’s most inconvenient.”
Azul groans, but you know deep down he’s already thinking of ways to turn your strange talent into a profitable venture.
Jamil Viper
Jamil is hard to surprise, but you’ve perfected the art of doing just that. No matter how calculated his moves are, you always manage to show up when he’s most stressed, casually inserting yourself into the situation with a smug, knowing look that drives him mad.
One evening, while Jamil is in the middle of strategizing, you suddenly appear on the counter, legs crossed, watching him as if you’ve been there the entire time. “Why so tense, Viper? Afraid someone might be... watching?”
Jamil freezes for half a second, then glares at you. “I knew you were there. You’re just trying to unsettle me.”
You grin wider, stretching like a lazy feline. “If you knew, you wouldn’t look so rattled. You humans are always so easy to predict.”
He sighs, clearly not in the mood for your games, but there’s a flicker of exasperated fondness in his eyes. “If you’re not here to help, at least don’t get in my way.”
You disappear once more, your voice echoing behind. “Maybe I’m helping more than you realize.”
Jamil shakes his head but smirks slightly, knowing you’ll pop up again at the worst possible time. He’s already preparing for it, even if he knows you’ll always keep him on his toes.

I have this in my pinned, but i'd just like to formally ask.. please don't upload my art to pinterest!
I absolutely don't mind my art being saved for reference, the issue is with pinterest itself. People don't generally attach credit on there, and users tend to think of anything on pinterest as totally sourceless and free to use/copy. It's disheartening seeing my original work floating around and being used with no credit, or credited to the wrong person, or having people tell me they've seen my art all over but had no idea I made it.
(It'd be one thing if it were just hobbyists, but unfortunately this extends to the professional sphere as well-- I have been given moodboards with totally uncredited art to reference off of even doing professional design work.)
And besides, with pinterest you have to deal with low quality uploads, things being randomly removed, obnoxious ads everywhere... aside from the convenience of it being online, it really just isn't great for art archiving anyways! I think it's very worthwhile to have an offline art reference folder, and if you don't have one you should get into the habit of actually saving things. You can always save my art to your computer, or print it out to have it physically (as long as you aren't using it for-profit). Under the cut I have some image organizing software recommendations.
Tagstudio - free image and document organizer with tagging functions.
Hydrus network - another free media organizer with tagging functions. works like a locally-hosted booru. Has a little bit more of a learning curve and has the option to set up a server to share files over a server, but you can use it purely offline. (also yeah it's geared towards imageboard users but you don't have to use any of that to work with it)
Notion - freemium (free for one user), can be used online/cross platform and shared more like Pinterest. more of a general notetaking/organizational app, but you can create moodboard sites using templates.
may update the post with more if I find more!

The Two D&Ds
I am going to make two statements:
I despise D&D, and consider it a parasitic drain on ttrpgs as an artform.
I love D&D and my fascination with it continually inspires me to create art using it.
These two statements might seem to be at odds, but in fact there is no conflict when one considers that the term 'D&D' is being used to refer to two completely different things. I hate one of those things and like the other. So let's unpack that. Firstly, there's D&D-as-a-lifestyle-brand. D&D as presented by critical role, by memes about horny bards and wholesome gay tiefling found families, and by the wider hasbro-sanctioned fandom. Where the actual design and mechanics of the game are a vague suggestion that exists homeopathically in the same vicinity as what you're doing. But really, you're inventing blorbos, collecting pretty dice, and speculating on events in an actual-play on twitch; the rules in that very pretty rulebook are an afterthought to the fandom.
Then there's D&D-as-a-family-of-ttrpg-mechanics. This covers the various editions of Dungeons & Dragons - from the white-box OD&D to 5th edition and everything in between - as well as various retroclones, hacks and spin-offs such as the OSR, Pathfinder, etc. This isn't defined as a cultural space; it's a set of game mechanics and design principles shared across the text of various games. And there's a lot of variation with the specifics, but like The Blues, if you know the basic structure it all makes sense.
The two D&Ds have very little to do with each other.
When indie people like myself criticise D&D, we are usually criticising the first one. We're generally outsiders to that fandom-space who are unhappy with the way that fandom encroches on, and ultimately stiffles, everything else in ttrpgs as an artistic medium. We tend also to dislike the very shallow interest in that fandom of the things we care about in ttrpgs - game design, gameplay, theory, criticism, etc.
Here's the thing. I am, personally, immensely critical of D&D-as-lifestyle-brand. I detest it, honestly. It strikes me as a corporate exploitation of the wider medium in pursuit of an easy profit, at the expense of catering to the lowest common denominator. Like invasive kudzu, it chokes out all ecological diversity in the art-form. Its a homogenising influence, and in my experience pretty anti-intillectual.
Because, at risk of sounding like a pseud, I consider ttrpg design to be an art-form that merits serious effort, discussion and appreciation.
However. D&D-as-a-set-of-games I actually quite like. I find myself fascinated by the way so many games take apart the starting framework of a given edition of D&D - like your 12-bar-blues structure - and adapt it and riff on it and fuse it with other genres. I find it interesting to track the way whole movements and genres mutate out from that starting position. Hell, I do that myself, a lot. A lot of my design work takes the very early editions of D&D as a starting point, gets into a groove, and riffs on it until it's seemingly unrecognisable.
To me, a work like Mork Borg is D&D (the second definition). It is, however, totally unrelated and unrecognisable to D&D (the first definition).
So I will talk about "D&D as the containment game for shit players" and I mean it, because I'm talking about type-1. And I'll do that while designing a paleolithic OSR game, because that's type-2. And by and large, all that happens when both those things intersect is people get upset.

I have a question, and my name is Sal.
I grew up watching Coraline as a kid. It was my jam. I loved that movie, and I will forever say Henry Selick deserved more attention for making it.
I like the Dresden Dolls and Evelyn Evelyn (Amanda Palmer projects) I still have the songs stuck in my head. You know where this is going.
I know you said that fans of works should still enjoy the work even if the creator sucks. And I can do that with Kubrick and Aaron Fechter, but that’s because Kubrick is dead, and most of Aaron Fechter’s IP got ripped away from him and is gladly in the hands of the public (despite how much he likes to sue).
Gaiman (and Palmer) are still alive and/or profiting off their stuff. Not to mention, I want to bring attention to the situation and help bring justice to the victims. Yet everytime I post about it or reblog what someone else put into words what I think, I feel like I’m virtue signalling.
How do I handle it and is it bad that I keep thinking of the art that influenced me by them instead of what they did (in a way to soften the blow to how horribly they abused these women)?
(You can respond to this publicly, as I am sure people are thinking the same thing somewhere. I am sorry for dumping all this on you.)
hi sal!
sorry, this got long. your ask was so genuine and i was afraid of getting it wrong.
i want to start this off by saying i am not the boss of anyone’s fandom experience. everyone gets to decide for themselves how they proceed after learning about the numerous women who have come forward against neil gaiman.
the things you mention are things i’ve struggled with too — last year when i first learned about it, when i listened to the podcasts and recently again reading even more detailed (and horrifying) news reporting.
these are also struggles shared by many fans in many fandoms of creators who were accused and/or controversial and/or convicted. for example many (trans) people i know have grown up loving harry potter, and have had to deal with their favourite writer waging a vendetta against trans lives. some still participate in the hp fandom without supporting her. they can’t help their hyperfixation and still find a lot of good and a lot of friends in the fandom.
because yes, i do believe that someone can stay in such a fandom as ethically as possible. as in: i try the best that i can to make sure no further financial gains go to the creator. that means i avoid watching official streams, buying official merch, going to official cons, going to plays based on his work etc. i also amplify the women’s voices by spreading the article.
the thing to keep in mind is: there is a difference and a distance between a creator and a fandom of what they created. a huge wall even. fandom is about community, friendships, creativity, … i am on a playground playing with the characters with my friends. sharing art and fics and gifs etc. and what those characters and stories mean to me are positive things.
the core is this: if you have to live your life only consuming art by morally pure people (and who determines that?!) then you will have very little left to enjoy.
and of course i understand the urge to want to help the victims, and the guilt/worry about virtue signaling. i’m going to break those down separately.
i think the idea of ‘helping bring justice to the victims’ is good but it also puts an unreasonable amount of responsibility on your young shoulders. here’s what’s already happened: the women’s voices have been heard, there is now more widespread media covering, he has lost his reputation, hasn’t been on his platforms since last summer, he’s losing (film) projects of his work, … what else consequences are yet to come, legally or otherwise, we’ll have to see. the responsibility for that lies not with you as one single fan but with lawyers etc. and you might find it important to keep vigilant that the story doesn’t get buried (again). in that case reblogging isn’t virtue signalling but useful.
but it’s also unreasonable to expect someone to continually do that for days and days. that’s a quick ticket to depression. ultimately tumblr is, to many, a fandom space. some people use it only for pleasant fandom activities. and what if they do? you can’t know a person’s whole life: maybe they are survivors who are too triggered to participate, maybe they’ve donated to causes that help survivors, maybe they have shared the story on other platforms etc
you asked “is it bad that I keep thinking of the art that influenced me by them instead of what they did”, and i found that the most heartbreaking part of your ask. it isn’t helpful to you or to anyone to keep torturing yourself with guilt. you’re aware of the allegations, and that’s good. but don’t burn yourself out trying to live up to the impossible standard of a morally pure activist that doesn’t exist. please stop being your own thought police.
i think the fact you struggle so deeply, shows what a beautiful person you are.
now you’re going to be reading a lot of opinions. some very different from mine. am i right in continuing in fandom? i don’t know. this is my first time living life too. but i AM right that you’re a good person.
that said: protect your heart. block freely and curate a fandom space that makes you happy. avoid engaging in endless internet discourse that is bad for your mental health. step away for a while if that is what you need.
these are some intense days but i promise it gets better. the kid who loved coraline can still love coraline, but is just more informed now.
the main rule of fandom is: does it spark joy? if yes, embrace it, because that’s a wonderful and rare thing to have.

It's almost as if he's... reaching for something... something that he can never have- but you can!!!

The link to the shop will be posted here and on our Twitter page, and the preorder period will last until November 7! But be sure to get in as early as possible, because we have some pretty cool stretch goals planned...
You will not believe the quality of the stories, art, and merchandise designs everyone has worked so hard to create, and we can't wait to share them with you!

See you soon, and stay weird!

Nimona Week 2025 FAQ
What is this?
Nimona Week is a celebration of our favorite shapeshifting sidekick, in both her movie and comic incarnations. We're hoping to encourage new fanworks of all kinds. This year, Nimona Week will be both here on Tumblr and on Bluesky.
When is it?
Nimona Week will take place from Sunday, March 30 to Saturday, April 5, 2025. Those dates were chosen because March 31st is Trans Day of Visibility.
However, it's never "too late" to be inspired or post fanworks. We'll try to reblog tagged posts during actual Nimona Week, so keep that in mind if you decide to post early or late.
Are there prompts?
There will be! Please vote on your favorites here by January 26th. We'll share final prompts by early February to allow writers and artists time to create.
What can I make?
You can make or write basically anything featuring Nimona-the-character: haikus, limericks, 100 word drabbles, ficlets, long fics, traditional art, digital art, gifsets, cosplay, embroidery, etc.
What if I'm not interpreting a prompt correctly?
We are not policing people's interpretations of the prompts. If a prompt inspires you to create, that's fantastic!
What about Goldenheart/Blackloin?
This event is Nimona-centric, but @goldenheart-week will return this summer. Fanworks for Nimona Week can absolutely include Ballister and Ambrosius (or other characters!) in addition to Nimona, but we want to keep her in the spotlight.
If you are interested in organizing @goldenheart-week 2025, please reach out to @zyrafowe-sny. :)
Are there any other Nimona fandom events?
That's up to the fandom! Another @nimonabigbang, a Reverse Big Bang, or a fic exchange can only happen if there are enough people willing to moderate and/or participate; fanweeks like this one and @goldenheart-week are a little easier to organize.
To provide feedback on possible future fandom events, you're invited to fill out this anonymous survey (even if you didn't participate in the 2024 Nimona Big Bang).
Are there any other multi-fandom events coming up where Nimona fanworks would be welcome?
We strongly recommend keeping an eye out for Fandom Trumps Hate in early 2025 — it's a multi-fandom online fanworks auction that's designed to raise money for progressive non-profits. You can sign up to write fanfic, make fanart, beta read, or perform other fan labor, and people can bid on your fanwork. If they win the auction, they donate directly to the non-profit(s) and submit proof of their donation. This is not a commission or selling fanwork; the fanwork you create is a thank you gift for the donation. Bidding often starts at $5.
There are also multi-fandom Big Bangs, monthly and weekly prompt lists, bingos, etc. We will often reblog those to help signal boost.
Where can I find information about Nimona Week 2024?
Here are some links from last year:
2024 FAQ | 2024 Prompts | 2024 Reblogs
What about...?
Feel free to send an ask if you have additional questions. We will also be updating the FAQ as needed.
