People absolutely underestimate Rikus potential cryptid energy. We are talking like big “moth man” vibes.
Like he’s my boy, but I’m imagining nights where someone -we will say Aqua- hears noise from the kitchen in the land of departure. when she swings the door open all she sees is these two eyes that catch the light from the hallway.
Aqua yells and turns on the light, keyblade at the ready… only to find Riku standing with a yogurt pot in one hand and a spoon in his mouth.
And Riku’s just like “evening,”.
OR
times when Terra will be looking for him for literal hours only for him to fold out of a dark corner in the rafters like a paper doll. And Terra doesn’t know whether to terrified or impressed.
OR
times when Riku’s dream eater form is triggered (I love that particular fanon) and he’s crawling around and hanging off of ceilings and Roxas and Ven are doubly like “NOT TODAY SATAN”
It would be worse when Sora’s Anti form gets triggered at the same time because then you have one crawling around on the ceiling like some bram stokers nightmare fuel, and the other one crab scuttling across the floor like Gollum on darkness filled steroids. Kairi personally believes she needs a raise. Mostly because she now carries around a spray bottle to stop them from chewing on drapes.
Biggest nightmare fuel moment:
Riku’s dream eater form
Sora’s anti form
And Vanitas (just him in general)
Just coming together for one beautiful awful storm of cryptid behaviour while on mission in beasts castle.
Ven, Kairi and Xion trailing behind their path of destruction, apologising to Belle and Beast for the furniture they chew.

i cannot wait for the next form of anti-form and rage form in the kh4 art style.
i keep having this idea of a scene where Riku finally finds Sora and is trying to get him to listen but just.
"I'm dead Riku."
"What do you mean? You can come back, come with me Sora."
"No Riku, I died. I'm here as punishment. I'm dead, Strelitzia's dead, you can't be here after everything I went through to save you, you can't!"
"Sora, what are you talking about? I'm not dead, Sora. I'm alive."
"If you're here, then you're dead. After everything I did..."
"I'm alive. Sora listen to me, I'm alive!"
Sora looked up at him, a different look in his eyes than Riku had ever seen before.
"Strelitzia and I had a theory. We were going to test it on her - neither of us thought it would work on me because I'm here on punishment, but if it works..."
"Sora, what are you talking about?"
"It makes sense, truly, I wanted to experiment more before trying it but if you're here... you need to go back..."
"Sora, stop, we're both going back, just calm down and listen to me."
"If you die to get here, it only stands to reason that dying in this reality will send someone back to ours."
"What?"
"You'll be sent to the final world, and then you can pass through to ours."
"Sora... what are you doing?" Sora had started walking closer to Riku, splaying his arms out slightly while darkness began to swirl around his feet with each step.
"I'm sorry Riku, but you can't be here. Your heart will be sent to the final world, but then you'll be able to navigate to back through to our reality. From what Strelitzia's contact has learned, the final world acts as the bridge."
"Sora, stop, you're not making any sense, and there's darkness all around you just-"
Sora's eyes flashed gold for just a moment and the darkness began to envelope him the way it did when Xehanort killed Kairi.
"Riku, forgive me." The transformation completed, the dark Sora raising his arms above his head and summoning what looked like the X-Blade but cloaked in the same darkness as the rest of him. His eyes were a brilliant blue. The X-Blade he held split in two as he brought his hands down, the shape of the two shadowy keyblades changing to be reminiscent to Riku and Kairi's new ones.
also yes dual wielding Sora should come back again. I do find Re:Mind's implication that he and Roxas can both still summon Oathkeeper and Oblivion very funny because I'm just imagining them fighting to summon them. Like there's only one copy.
Roxas, in the middle of sparring: take this! *hands suddenly empty* Roxas: ... DAMN IT SORA
Sora, fighting a wave of heartless and nobodies: I need two hands for this *keyblades won't come to him* Sora: what? shit! *finally summons them just for them to be pulled back again* Sora: SHIT SHIT SHIT Roxas, fighting some nobodies: why does Sora keep pulling these!

This is a post made to appreciate the unexpected psychological depth that the KH Trinity had, which was so shamefully discarded afterward to placate all the idiotic fans who misunderstood it.
As this post notes, the KH Trinity was big on Jungian philosophy; all about the self and the "shadow self". If you wish, you can also rephrase this in Freudian terms relating to the ego, superego and id.
Kairi and her shadow, Namine. Sora and his shadow, Roxas. Riku and his shadow, the Riku Replica (aka Repliku). In each pairing, it's the former who constitutes the ego, and the latter who constitutes the id, with no superego to act as a buffer between them. Namine, Roxas and Repliku represent their respective person's most negative attributes, their basest instincts and emotional urges. This is especially obvious in Repliku's case, as not too long ago Riku had allowed those very same instincts and urges to consume him.
The difference in outcomes is noteworthy. In the case of Namine and Roxas, they end up starting to embrace the positive traits of the ego.
Namine goes from timid and compliant to bold and defiant, like Kairi.
Roxas goes from (understandably) angry about his predicament to accepting his fate the moment he sees a sleeping Sora, because he's developed compassion and knows that Sora can't wake up without him and thus can't save all the people who need saving from Organization XIII's machinations. Like Sora, he is self-sacrificial.
In the end, this is what saves them. They completely reassimilate with their other selves, returning to being the id, except now the superego links them and the ego together rather than divide them off. In Jungian terms, Sora and Kairi don't wish to deny or suppress their shadows any longer, they instead wish to live with them in balance.
Repliku, on the other hand....
His tragedy is that he does not make that same choice. Influenced by the manipulative Axel, he remains the embodiment of Riku's negative qualities. The same qualities that ultimately drove Riku to attempt to murder his best friend now drive Repliku to attempt to murder Riku. So unlike Sora and Kairi, Riku ends up rejecting his shadow. Repliku's death at Riku's hands is a metaphor: never again will Riku allow himself to fall victim to his id. And yet, to show proof of Riku's change, he also shows compassion to his dying shadow self, acknowledging him as an equal and assuring him that his heart will make it to Kingdom Hearts just as any natural-born heart does.
Finally, we have Xemnas.
As a human, Xehanort obliterated his superego so that his ego became more in tune with the negative connotations that word is usually used with. He then discarded his id so that he could have absolute purity in his pursuit of darkness. The discarded id, Xemnas, doesn't seek to achieve balance with his ego nor eliminate it. Instead, he seeks to become not just an ego himself, but the superego of everyone in the universe. All people psychologically enslaved by Xemnas and behaving in accordance to his will. Empty shells of their former selves whom can only feel base emotions like anger and hate. It makes his other self's "eternal darkness" plan sound reasonable!
Maybe you don't like any of this and prefer the series beyond's approach where every character is simply their own person and don't really reflect on another character much, if at all. That's fine, but I will never understand it. Not when the KH Trinity is so damn good.

Ideas for Kingdom Hearts x Disney Chills stories
(warning: very BEEG and tall wall of text and spoilers)
... I kinda once got some weird ideas about some stories of the Disney Chills storybooks with something that could be considered as well strange too, and that is: Kingdom Hearts.
Now, you may be wondering: What’s sort of thingus have you drank to think of a weird idea like that?! or, what the heck is Disney Chills or Kingdom Hearts?!
And to that i tell you: i did not drank anything except water and milk, and cola... and orange juice, i just thought of the idea because it’s cool and i kinda wanna see it, but before speaking of how, i will tell what exactly both series are about:
Disney Chills is a series of 6 books (7 in the making) made by Vera Strange that mixes the scary spooky storytelling from the Goosebumps series and the classic villainy of Disney’s Animated Villains. The stories are about a random kid (often a middle schooler) being down in the dumps for something that they lack or because they’re ostracized due to having any quirk. Then comes the Disney Villains to help them at the expense of turning their lifes for the worse in the long run, and then the villains wins at the end while the kiddos suffer the consequences for what they did, too bad~!
Kingdom Hearts is a series of videogames made by Tetsuja Nomura, who at first just started as one boy named Sora and his friends Riku and Kairi getting separated from their homeworld Destiny Islands and then Sora masters the keyblade to seek and find his friends from the claws of the Heartless and the Disney Villains who controls them (but there’s a bigger evil than they don’t know about) then became more confusing adding Nobodies, Time Travel, Replicas, and even bigger bad, a keyblade wars and various VARIOUS games that made from going from game 1-2-3 to UX-ML-DR-BBS-0.2-1-CoM-358/2D-2-RC-DDD-3-4. Aka there’s a lot of story spread over multiple games.
Soo, now that you (kinda?) know what those series are about what sort of weird ideas i kinda got into making, since these are too big (even for me) but still, i’m just gonna say what sort of ideas i thought and what sort of villains from the series would fit the best for them, and soo... Let’s dive into the Darkness.
Ansem, Seeker of Darkness:
The very first antagonist from the Kingdom Hearts series. Ansem was created after getting Terra-Xehanort’s heart out when he unlocked it with his keyblade, he then went to the past to help Young Xehanort to go towards his dark road and stayed in there, eventually manipulating Riku into joining the darkness and then eventually taking over his body to become “whole”. He also has a heartless bodyguard that is actually Terra’s Heart. He was eventually defeated by Sora, but still manage to return thanks to Riku’s darkness and eventually Xehanort’s Time Traveling shenanigans.
In a way, a story featuring Ansem would be kinda interesting persay; since the ideas about these sort of stories are about choices or wanting to get something "physical", i imagine that the kingdom hearts-related stories would be more about ourselves as people and how we threat each's others, as well understanding our emotions too. Ansem's Story would be about the Darkness in our hearts due to our own physical and emotional struggles, as well on how we affects others without not noticing at all.
In this story, we would get a protagonist that feels preety weak and sad because of how much he gets bullied, so one night, he find at some place, he finds Ansem and then he helps him to get strong, by calling to the darkness inside it’s heart and then our protagonist gets courage to be strong, so next mornign, he puts a bully on it’s place, and everything goes, but also, he felt something, like he somehow felt that there were less and less people around the school, and that there were reports of some “shadowy” beings roaming around the streets (these being being pureblood heartless like shadows, neoshadows, possesors, dark balls and dark servants), and then, he finds out that the more he looks at his reflection, he sees himself less and less of a human, and more like a dark silhoutte of what he is. (based on Antisora). So, he decides confront Ansem before things spiral out of control (but sadly, thing spiralled out of control, so now he has to run through a darkness-ized city full of heartless to follow and stop Ansem once and for all.
(bonus points if the protagonist in a way is like Riku but different, and that a sora and kairi-look a likes would be important for the story too.)
(Alternatively, Ansem’s story could also be about Dabbling in the dark arts, like how Dr. Facilier did, albeit, with a few differences since Facilier's Story was about being at the shadow of someone else though. in this idea, it would be that an occultist based character got the help of a “Master of Darkness” that managed to summon the heartless (just some shadows) to prove that the occult itself is real and then get more members for it’s club or what not, only to realise that it might had condeem the entire city to the darkness....)
I kinda thought that the final battle would be on a toy shop, and that the heartless would ended up posessing some toys that would be weirdly-reminesent from the emblem heartless from the game (mostly first and second and maybe third game too) and the near-final obstacle would be Ansem summoning a version of the Phantom Heartless as a “puppet” before being faced at the rooftops. in the end, Ansem would tell that he still has potential in his heart for a greatness and stuff, our protagonist doesn’t believe it but then, a heartless attack one (or two) of his friends, he then succumbs to the darkness and ask Ansem to help them, and Ansem replies, by “returning” our protagonist’s friends’ hearts back, but taking his own.
The idea i thought that at the end (of theses two ideas), our protagonist would then be turned into the Dark Guardian by Ansem (using it’s heartless magic), thanks to the inmerse hatred and darkness it had during the story condeming it to be Ansem’s personal servant and fighter, collecting more darkness for his master to use.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Xemnas
Xemnas is the main antagonist of Kingdom Hearts II, being the leader of organization XIII and the leader of the nobodies, he was born after terra-xehanort unlocked his heart, leaving him to be his nobody. He then created the organization for his nefarious needs.
Xemnas's Story would be more about the opposite of what most of the stories you made are: Popularity, while in most of the disney chills stories are about any characters trying to be popular and outshine anyone else (Part of your Nightmare and Fiends on the Other Side comes to mind), in this story the protagonist would already start as a popular person, but it would get tired of it and wanted to live a simple life (probably thanks to peer preasure and other stuff like toxic fanbases and stuff too, in a way, it would be like a “kid-friendly” version of Oshi no Ko, and how popularity (As well the internet) can be like a double-edge sword., that's went it's meets Xemnas, and stuff goes on.
I’m not sure exactly how the plot afterwards would it be but i imagine it having to be similar to Fiends on the Other Side and our protagonist at first embraces the fact he’s no longer picked up but then more and more people start to forget him and he doesn’t know what to do. I also thought of an idea that it would get a bittersweet ending that after the protagonist get’s forgotten by almost everyone, Xemnas comes and then gives him a “second” life with him, afterall, he also found other kids that were forgotten too so he brought then to be part of a “family” (in a way, it would be related to Organization XIII) and that our protagonist was number xii.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Master Xehanort
Master Xehanort is the antagonist of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, 3 and Dream Drop Distance, as well the overarching antagonist of the series as a whole. he wants to redo the keyblade war to get the X-Blade and unlock Kingdom Hearts, he summoned Vanitas as a copy of Ventus, he manipulated Terra to give into the darkness and took over his body turning it into Terra-Xehanort, and he sent Aqua to the realm of darkness as terra-nort. He also sent himself from the past to get to follow it’s dark road and help his future self to gather the new 13 darknesses to fight agaisnt the guardians of light.
Master Xehanort's Story would be a bit more... "tricky" (since he’s a chessmaster sort of villain sitting in the shadows while everyone else is doing their thing and help him without knowing about it), but since his motives rely on more manipulation from the shadows, he would kinda use the protagonist to help it be the best, only to end up as "the best" as Xehanort himself (Kinda mirroring what happened to Terra in BBS.) yeah, i know it’s simple but it’s kinda what i got.
(in a way, i thought that by the end of... whatver happened, Xehanort would do the same thing that Ansem did a few characters above, but instead of using it as a heartless, he would use it as a way to get a physical body since he’s technically not a live/he’s a “ghost” of somekind, and after getting to posses it, we get a time skip of Xehanort now using the protagonist’s body as it’s own, ready to relieve a second life to path it’s path to sucess and darkness.)
(in a way, when our protagonist meets Xehanort, he would see it as a cloaked figure that needed help and then, after telling about what happened, he helps the protagonist to become better at the expense of being a pawn for something the protagonist doesn’t know about until the end. his cloaked appearance would look like Ansem’s Cloaked form when he met riku and sora on destiny island, while his possesion of the portagonist at the end would make him look like the protagonst but with white hair and yellow eyes, barley looking like Young Xehanort.)
(I have a feeling that the cloaked figure would fit better with ansem on the occult-based story but changes can happen down the line, i think?)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Heartless/Anti Black Coat/Dopperganger.
... Basically, an original idea, now you may be wondering: but why? well... why not? Plus, the Heartless as a whole could be an intereting as they being born from the darkness inside of out heart. In a way, what’s interesting is that they could also be the first villain our protagonist doesn’t know about, but everyone else kinda manages to see it as it’s follow the protagonist’s shadow whetver it’s goes, and then use their inscurities to power themselves more and more to become like the protagonist.
In a way it would first start out as a normal shadow at the ground (both psylosofically and literally, like the kh enemy), then it would evolve into the Neoshadow, and Finally it's become like afusion of the Anti-Black Coat and Shadow Roxas, who, went reveal it's hood out, it's turn like the dark version of our main protagonist, but all black, and after the protagonist falls to his darkness, it’s posses the protagonist to become 1, as well the main personality, erasing the original’s as a whole as he slips into the darkness, to no longer cause any problems at all...
(in a way, if there’s a final battle, i imagine the Shadow Dopperganger cummonig some sort of silhoutte barely reminesnce of the Darkside, or getting it’s hair spiked up and wavy like the darkside too.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ho boy, this ended up being far more longer than i anticipated, but yeah, what do you think of my ideas? are they good or way to far out to be considered anything at all? i may post another idea soon-ish though, but still, i have a feeling i wouldn’t work to deep since i have other projects doing on my own, but i would like to see your own ideas on these ideas i had and see what you can do about them, even if it is the covers for books or which sort of protagonsit deisgn, age, gender and maybe even nacionality could be good too, until then, if you have read up to this end, i’m happy you got time to listen to me. it’s makes me happy.

I still disagree about your "Roxas = Ventus" interpretation.
With that said, yes. This is another reason I don't care for the Seasalt Trio reuniting. It's just giving Axel / Lea exactly what he wants, with him not having to pay a real price for his toxicity.
A Few More Thoughts on the Sea-Salt Trio
This is something that became forgotten amidst all of the other drama in Days, but Xion originally left the sea-salt trio of her own free will. She loved watching the sunset with Roxas and Axel, but it only made her feel like there was somewhere else she belonged even more. I just got the feeling that, if she had to choose between being Xion the girl whose whole life was part of the sea-salt trio, or being Kairi, the girl who was special to Sora, listening to the waves…she would have chosen to be Kairi. She really wanted to go home, and for her that was Destiny Islands, not Twilight Town.
And this scene definitely felt like foreshadowing that Roxas wasn’t truly at home in the sea-salt trio, either. He wondered if he had any place he truly belonged or any friends he belonged with. While doing so, he looked up at the stars, a very obvious visual nod to the Wayfinder trio. Then he shed tears, proof he had a heart. It conveyed the message that his place was with Terra and Aqua. He didn’t remember them in Days, but one day he would find his way back to them.
Lea was the only one who I felt permanently belonged on the clock tower. That was his true home. If Nomura had time to explore their backstory before KH3 had released, we probably would have learned that the clock tower was originally Lea and Isa’s special spot. Before the final battle, Isa knew Lea would be there and that one of those ice creams was meant for him. It definitely didn’t seem like that was his first time there. And that was definitely a Winner stick he got.

So building off the "Sora is now fictional" idea, Roxas is more of a person than Sora is.
Lower your pitchforks and hear me out. This isn't a "Roxas is just Sora but actually interesting" post. I find those fucking annoying as well, and I prefer Roxas to Sora (though you wouldn't be able to tell based on my posts - sue me, the concept of hearts living inside each other and how that would effect the og person is too fascinating to ignore... which actually leads me into the main point of this post)
Roxas fought tooth and nail to be seen as an individual. He carved his identity out of rock while everyone around him acted like a demolition team trying to destroy it at every moment.
Sora willingly gives up his identity. While Roxas is firm in who he is, even in the moments where he doubts his humanity, Sora is a chameleon. From the obvious things such as hiding his darkness to the more subtle way his actual design changes across even individual games. Im going to actually split this up into two parts - Sora loaing his identity to those he interacts with and Sora losing his identity to those within his own heart.
- Sora when it comes to those outside of Sora's heart, Sora is whatever the person at that moment needs. He's the light for Riku, he's a confidante for various Disney characters, he's the unchanging (stable, steady) knight in armor for Kairi, he's the joyful companion to Goofy and Donald, but simultaneously the avenging angel of the side of light towards the nobodies. Sora is what he needs to be at any given moment because his driving force is his loyalty to his friends. Sora doesn't have an identity he clings to outside of his loyalty. It's his strongest unchanging trait. "Sora is light!" Except for when he admits to Riku he struggles with darkness and agrees to be the darkness. Except for when overuse of his drive forms (overuse of reliance on his friends) turns him into a pseudoheartless. Except for when rage over takes him and he transforms infront of everybody into a dark form to attack Xehanort after Kairi dies. Sora is a light for those who need him to be, but Sora himself is not pure light. Which actually brings me to my next section.
People have talked at length about Sora being less intelligent in later games than he was in kh1 and kh2, with the worst being in 3D, but I think to an extent this is also Sora molding himself (on top of flanderization by the writers). Sora is goofy and silly to those who need it. Think about who he acts "dumb" around. Its the newly reformed scientists, or those who need a confidence boost (he allows people to overexplain to him). We see in re:mind that kh3 Sora never once lost his intelligence from the previous games, but he allows others to call him forgetful/silly/behind (which he literally is, his memories are objectively fucked why are they mocking him for memories they never worked to help him restore agh *rips hair out). Sora knows they need someone to lighten things, or to explain to in order to think things through, and so there he is. "I don't computer, so you do that," he says while piloting a ship. He's talking to the newly reformed scientists, he knows that this is their chance to solidify themselves on the side of light, and so he sends them off to do their work without his help.
- for those inside his heart, there's a ton to talk about but I'm going to begin with the bridge I used from the first part. Every light has a balancing darkness. The closer you are to the light, the greater your darkness grows. Darkness is a shadow (which is why Sora losing his shadow when in anti form is not only a cool as fuck animation detail but important in terms of lore) so what does that mean for Sora who housed Ventus's heart of pure light within his own? People have commented that sora's darkness has grown since the first game, and others have pointed out that the hollow in the space of the heart in the Darkseid is obviously related to Sora's capacity to hide others within his own heart, and the fact that Sora's name doesn't only translate to "sky" but can be translated as "void"... thats all relevant but im at work so I'm not going to get too much into that at this moment. instead I'm going to point out that if his heart was holding a heart of pure light (two at one point with kairi), and all hearts except for those which either belong to princesses of light OR which are artificially split from their darkness must have darkness inside of their hearts. Riku shows that this darkness is about balance for light (I'm not getting into the "Riku actually has more light in his heart than Sora" meta arguments, though I do agree that the text is open to that interpretation and I enjoy the theory). If Sora had a heart of pure light within him, then he would have to artificially darken his own heart to keep balance.
It's also further than taking on the pain of Roxas and Xion. We see the way he gives himself up for those in his heart with his actual actions and looks. Sora (and Roxas, God i wish they'd explore more what it means to be the nobody of two hearts rather than one or if roxas is actually Ven's nobody instead of Sora's but Roxas's arc is over sadly) walks with his arms behind his head the way Ventus does. Many people have pointed out that Sora's hair is decidedly a lighter color after the KH2 prologue than at any other point in series (including in official art and posters), leading many to theorize that he actually changed appearance in response to Roxas's blond hair.
Even at the times when Roxas gives into the idea that he himself is not an individual, or implies that he and sora truly are one ("I know he'll do it, because he's me,") there's still the fight within him that he *is* a person with a distinct personality and way of being.
Sora doesnt have a distinct way of existing. Sora is what others require at that moment. This almost ties into the whole "Sora went to the realm of fiction" thing. "Sora the Concept" has become an ideal of whatever those around him invision him being at that moment while "Sora the Person" has slowly dissipated behind layers of acting.
So yeah, Roxas is more of a person than Sora is. Sora has become a concept, the idealized version of himself that others came up with, and which he molded himself to fit, losing his personhood in the process.
Sorry if this is incomprehensible. I'm at work and didn't take my meds 🤙

Vanitas and the Chaotic Good learning curve:
Leaving complete darkness behind isn’t hard exactly. After having Mr. Giddy goofy light bringer (Sora) witter in his ear for a good nine hours about the “benefits of not being evil” Vanitas isn’t willing to say he caved…. But he caved.
Besides if little miss “How can I face everyone” Martyrdom (Riku) can find the balance, how hard could it be right?
Turns out it’s not hard, it’s just… interesting. He’s observed a lot from those light bringers who still have to find a balance with the darkness in their hearts. Here’s what he’s learning:
Dawn (Riku) is not above small acts of violence against Sora. Whacking him with a paperback, flicking his forehead, tripping him when he gets up to do to the bathroom. It’s all fair play apparently.
It is not acceptable to firaga people for annoying you, but that doesn’t mean Kairi hasn’t.
The real-boy (Roxas) can hit HARD and no he won’t apologise for braking something if he thinks you deserve it.
Raggedy-Anne (Xion) has a higher kill rate then Vanitas does… which is only mildly disturbing.
Biting people is bad, but Terra and Aqua always seem to be covered in Bite marks anyway. He has been informed it’s a different kind of biting. He doesn’t wish to explore that further.
His own natural eye colour after possession is red, and ain’t that a kick in the teeth.
Dawns a bitch when he’s grumpy and apparently the way to deal with him is to be a bitch back. Kairi is very good at being a bitch back. Sora just wishes everyone would get along.
The-real-boy and Dawn have serious history and it makes families dinners tense sometimes. Vanitas would not like a repeat performance of helping Ven drag Roxas into another room whilst Terra heals Riku’s fractured cheek. Roxas apologied but Riku still didn’t get out of bed for three days after.
Spikes and fire (Lea/Axel) apparently has the power to kill a man with the snap of his fingers. ApPaReNtLy he has killed someone with the snap of his fingers.
Moon boy (Isa/Sïax) has a limit beaker that could level city blocks. Wild.
Cry baby dislikes Cloud Strife for reasons only Ventus, Aqua and Hercules (apparently) know. Vanitas is pretty sure not even Cloud knows what he did. Van recons it has something to do with the big sword and the… Squats???
“I will not summon Floods until Xion and Sora cry. It is bad and I will apologise for it” … In Vans defence Naminé thought it was hilarious.
Dawn blindfolds himself when he’s upset about… something?
He gets along surprisingly well with Roxas… apparently shared trauma and distaste for stupid people goes a long way. Neat!
Raggedy Anne knows there is a spot on the back of Axels neck that if you dig in hard enough he passes out…. Isa showed her this.
Sora it not above throwing things at Riku and Kairi when he’s overtired and upset. He gets more upset that he threw the thing at them though.
Apparently master water slide (aqua) can still open dark corridors, she just doesn’t.
Dawn knows how to access dark gear. He’s done it exactly once in Vans presence and they didn’t see him for DAYS afterwards… that’s how Vanitas learned about the blindfold.
Naminé can get in your head. She hasn’t but she can. It makes for tense moments between her and Sora when she says something she shouldn’t know.
It is acceptable to throw water at Axel when he gets “fired up” during training. This was a delightful discovery.
Upon being introduced to the restoration committee it is not acceptable to point out that Leon looks like if Simba was a person… but it does make Sora and Aerith laugh so hard they end up crying on the floor.
Cloud strife is apparently more trauma then man and now Terra feels bad for hating him.
It is not acceptable to to tell Winnie the Pooh that forest fires are caused by thinking too hard. Sora and Ventus will slap you in the head and it will hurt
And possibly the most disturbing discovery of them all in Vanitas’ opinion… Sora has a Rage form AND an Anti-form. And they come out to play regularly in training.
Ultimately what Vanitas is learning is that nobody is amine to the darkness. He’s learning that it’s not about being evil or good by nature it’s about deciding who YOU want to be. For all he makes fun of them and calls them soppy lights, it’s…. Good to know that there is hope for him, even if it means he can’t get rid of the darkness. He can still exists in the light.

I feel like I've heard so many takes on kh over the years, but the real answer about the story and it's decisions is that everything in kh is done for theme.
Why does data Riku contain the journal inside himself? Because they explore this concept of "their are worlds inside us", that wherever you go, you take pieces of the places you've been and people you've met with you, and those experiences change who you are (even sometimes leaving hurt where they used to be)
Why was Roxas put in a data twilight town? Because the heart is uncode-able. It's incalcuable. You will never be able to write down, capture, or understand everything about another person (something I think twewy also explores), even someone you think shouldn't or doesn't exist. You will never be able to fully understand them to even be able to determine that
Why does Ansem TW's machine turn Riku back into himself? Because Ansem's sacrifice, listening to his heart, gave Riku his identity back (the way Ansem lost his own in darkness). Ansem became Diz and Riku became Ansem, an imposter of ATW imposter—they both lost themselves for their goal. Riku shouldn't have done everything on his own much in the same way Ansem should have gone to Mickey for help. Ansem was destroying everything around him, and he tried to change that
Why did Aqua defeating Terra almost send the both of them to the ROD? Because Aqua needed to save Terra, and become lost to the Darkness she was so worried Terra would, and did, succumb to. She needed to succumb to that darkness herself. Literally why anti-Aqua exists.
Like that's it. It's for theme
