This is going to make me sound like a bad Christian or even “lukewarm” but ever since the covid pandemic my spiritual life has gone downhill and I know I have sinned and it feels gross and disgusting and it’s not the woman I want to be. It’s difficult because my father who has treated me like crap, a narcissist and is online cheating w/ my mom goes to church and puts his church first above everyone including us (his own family) and I stopped going to church with him since I was 12 and have gone to my grandmas church they have a female pastor and I have felt very comfortable with hat church ever since. I guess what I am trying to say with everything happening with Israel and all of that I have to side w/ Israel because that is what the Lord is saying in the Bible etc. But I am not ready for Jesus to come back because I feel like I have to live my life and maybe I am delusional I am not sure but I want to experience marriage and children if it’s in the Lords will and other things and like I have so much anxiety about him returning because of that verse whoever says lord lord will not Enter etc
I hope I am not rambling and you can understand what I am saying
Heya!
I get what you mean. When I was young and I first read how Jesus will deny some who come before Him at the end, I was scared too.
And also, when I was young, I wanted Jesus to wait until I was married and had lived a while before He came back. It's actually a very common thing to feel that way.
The remedy for your situation is to keep studying the Scriptures and get to know the Lord better. I know, super deep, right? Simple as it is, that's exactly what will get you over your current state of mind. The more you study the Bible and put into practice the things you learn, and the more you seek the Lord in private prayer and worship, the more confidence you gain in your relationship with Him, and the more you'll desire to be with Him over anything else. Fear will leave you and excitement will take its place.
The ones the Lord will deny will be the ones who refuse to repent of sins, or refuse to trust in Him and instead depend on their own works. If you trust the Lord's once-for-all sacrifice to cover your sins and save you, and if you repent of your sins and do your dead-level best to obey the Lord and live a holy life because you love Him and want to please Him, you have nothing at all to fear. Your mistakes will be met with grace. God will lift you up when you fall. When you screw up, if you confess your fault and run to Him, the Lord will always forgive you. And when you die, or else when the Lord returns, you'll by no means be turned away. His mercy and love will always be with you.
And as you grow in understanding and come to realize that life with Jesus once He returns to us will be so much better than even the best this life has to offer, you'll feel more and more excited at the idea. When Jesus comes back, for us who follow Him now, as well as for all of those who are permitted to live under His rule during the Millennial Kingdom, literally EVERYTHING will become better. Our lives then will be wildly above and beyond the highest, best possible circumstances we can imagine.
I hope this helps. Be blessed!

The Unbeliever's Resurrection
This is the 22nd in a series of excerpts from What Every Christian Should Know About the Return of Jesus, released by High Street Press and available at Amazon.com.  There’s less in Scripture about the resurrection of the wicked than there is about the glorification of the just. Nevertheless, the Bible gives us enough information to know that those who reject Christ are physically resurrected…

2 Thessalonians 1:7 Needed Rest Coming
and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 2 Thessalonians 1:7 Working every day from morning till evening, and often six days a week, people are worn out and tired. Then they must come home to do various chores at home each evening, wearing them down even more. People are tired and wanting to be able to rest and relax. Each…

The signs foretold long ago are becoming increasingly evident as the world grows more turbulent with wars, natural disasters, and moral decay. Many believe we are witnessing the fulfillment of key prophecies leading up to the second coming of Christ, such as the return of Israel and the spread of the gospel to all nations. Jesus Himself warned of these coming trials, saying, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars…nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places” (Matthew 24:6-7). Yet, He reminded us to stay watchful, for no one knows the day or hour of His return (Matthew 24:42). The urgency of the situation — the need for vigilance and preparedness — cannot be overstated.
The apostle Paul urged believers to live in readiness, saying, “The day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night” (1 Thessalonians 5:2). This is a call to action, encouraging us to be vigilant and live in the light by being honest, kind, and compassionate, rather than being overtaken by darkness. Peter echoed this sentiment, warning that “the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the elements will melt with fervent heat” (2 Peter 3:10). He urged us to live holy and godly lives, avoiding sin and practicing love and forgiveness, in preparation for this day.
In his visions of the end times, John saw the final culmination of history and declared with unwavering certainty, “Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him” (Revelation 1:7), pointing to the ultimate revelation of Christ to the world. This prophecy is certain and will come to pass.
The Bible warns that Christ’s return will come suddenly, “as a thief in the night” (2 Peter 3:10) when the hearts of many will be unprepared. That day will bring unexpected judgment and the melting of the elements with fervent heat, emphasizing the crucial need for spiritual readiness. Now more than ever, the call of John the Baptist rings true: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” (Matthew 3:2). This is not a distant future, but a reality that could be upon us at any moment. Are we ready?

Tribulation vs. Wrath? (Pre-Trib, Mid-TriB, Post-Trib)
After hearing about the future return of Jesus for the first time, just four years ago, from reading the Bible for the first time, I wanted to understand “when” this happens and “what” the signs would be because I heard different opinions from people: Pre-Tribulation, Mid-Tribulation and Post-Tribulation and wondered: which one is correct? After researching this in scripture and looking deeper…

Thinking about human behaviour compared to animal behaviour again.
It's funny to hear people (the older gens) complaining that "kids these days are lazy, they don't wanna work, etc." What do we get for busting our asses? There is no reward. Many will never own homes. Many are unemployed, trying to find work, and nobody will hire them because they don't have a million years experience and a masters degree OR they want people to work for minimum wage??? People are giving up because there is no reward. Why would we do all this for nothing?
Same as a dog that won't recall when you haven't reinforced it with a reward. Your dog isn't going to do what you tell it to if there is no incentive. No, your dog SHOULDN'T listen just because you're boss and it should respect you. That isn't how it works. They don't think that way. And honestly neither do people.
When we went hiking Sprocket wasn't always taking treats gently from me when I recalled her or she checked in and I rewarded and my one friend told me to stop giving her treats. I told him I won't work for free so why should she. And he said "I do things for free all the time because I want to do them," and I didn't say it then, but I wish I had, but if you like doing it, that's the incentive. It's a self-rewarding behaviour. Just like anything else a dog does, like chasing a squirrel or sniffing things or getting into the trash. Heeling instead of going off to sniff stuff or recalling off of something they want to chase is something you have to reinforce. You have to give them something better so they make the choice you want them to make. They won't make it just because they *respect* you. They won't willingly recall off of exciting prey out of RESPECT. You need to give them a tangible reward for that. You cannot possibly expect your dog to listen just because and then punish them for disobeying you.
Yeah, Sprocket bit my fingers a couple times. The one time pretty hard. But she was excited. She knows how to take gently and I reminded her and she tried very hard to be gentle most of the time. I wasn't going to stop rewarding her for checking in with me and recalling while we were off leash hiking in the woods. I want her to know that coming back to me is good and in the event of an emergency I would like her to not blow me off.

The Believer's Resurrection
This is the 21st in a series of excerpts from What Every Christian Should Know About the Return of Jesus, released by High Street Press and available at Amazon.com.  It’s comforting to keep in mind that when Christ died, he redeemed our bodies, souls, and spirits. Our salvation doesn’t stop with the forgiveness of sins, the declaration of our right standing with God in Christ, and the…

John 16:20 Sorrow Today, Joy Tomorrow
Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. John 16:20 Finding joy is difficult for most people. Everywhere one looks there appears to be trouble and sorrow. People run to entertainment of very type in order to find something to be glad about, to pull them out of their world of trouble…
