Fantastic people of the Rangers Apprentice fandom, I need your help....

I feel like this needs a little backstory to make sense so bear with, roughly four and a half years ago two of the most amazing people i know today (who im 98% shure ar'n't on this app and hopefully won't see this and spoil everything...) came into my life and introduced me to the fabulous world that is Rangers Apprentice; something i am forever grateful for not only for the epic memories and adventures but because i honestly don't think id be here today if i hadn't met them.

when i finished reading the books, they gave me a silver oakleaf necklace which i love dearly and has become very much the symbol of our friendship. that brings us to today, in a few months those two awesome people are turning 20 and in honour of that i want to do something really special.

in a probable fit of madness i came up with the idea to make them 'real' silver oak leaves. i've never done anything with jewlery or silver in my life so this should be fun.... my problem tho is that i can't settle on a design.... i want them to be both functionally the same but i really don't want them to be exactly the same, now i can't seem to draw an oakleaf to save myself and i can't find one that feels right.

so i was wondering if you guys could help me, if you have a sketch, or a suitable looking leaf or a design idea, tips, or any useful tid bit from the books or even a headcannon about them i would much appreciate your sharing

watching the sdcc panel and i am just very :) about how sweet their answers to “what are some of the micro moments from the game that have stuck with you the most over the years?” are. taliesin saying what the fuck is up with that which was the first like The Party Gets To Know Each Other moments of c3. travis saying asking his wife if he could kiss her in campaign. marisha going way back to the cannonball competition in campaign one. ashley choosing the beauyasha date but also just the silly goat noise matt made. liam adding onto that to compliment matt roleplaying grass so well and then saying his favourite moment was writing a story for laura and reading it to her as caleb for jester. and then matt saying that was his answer, and that his favourite moments of the game are when they find ways to give gifts to each other whether tangible or not. and sam saying his favourite moments have less to do with the story and is more so when he can just. see his friends across the table from him. when marisha perches and when laura and ashley are (badly) drawing dicks and liam saying he loves when sam sneezes and ashley tells him to stop it and just. yeah. they Are an extremely popular online powerhouse, but i’m so happy that they’re also friends building a world together out of gifts to and love for one another.

like i Am so enamoured with the characters and the world of exandria but the moments when you can feel the love that those people have for each other reach out from behind the stained glass of their performances (to steal a metaphor from brennan lee mulligan) are so extremely special and i am endlessly grateful that they decided to share their silly little home game with the world.

I genuinely believe that if The Ghoul/Cooper wasn't a father and didn't have a family, a lot more of the fandom would be falling over Ghoulcy. Because then it would just be a morally grey immortal with a human, and those pairings are fairly common and accepted. From gods and elves and vampires, it's been done before and people eat it up. Even the age gap becomes negligible to people who might usually make a big deal about it because they understand that though the immortal is hundreds/thousands of years old, the human they're with is an adult (usually). But because The Ghoul is a dad, it colors their view of his relationships with people. They presume that the only way he'll interact with Lucy is in the fatherly sense and so they default the relationship to be parental. Anything else beyond the parameters of familial is deemed immoral and wrong. So what normally would've been an equally-competing alternative ship to Vaultknight, has turned into a scorned "morally bad" ship that's even allegedly ruining the fandom to some people.

When I was a kid, I made myself drink coffee and gave myself a caffeine addiction. Why did I do this? Cause my favorite character in my favorite book series drank a lot of coffee.
