I was rewatching episode one, and during Lucy’s intro, I noticed something interesting in the riflery cut scene. Now that we know Cooper is the Vault Boy, the placement of the bullseye really stood out to me. Typically, bullseyes are centered on the chest or the head, but here it’s solely over the heart. That feels oddly specific considering another cut scene from the same montage shows Lucy and her dad watching The Man from Deadhorse which is referenced again in later episodes. We also see a similar image when Cooper shoots the Vault Boy on the billboard.

I guess it could symbolize how Vault-Tec continues to break his heart, or it might foreshadow that Lucy will eventually do the same—since she’s the one shooting him in the scene—whether romantically, emotionally, or in some other pivotal way.
