What are the odds of Hylnyan going short Hrothgar(176-180 as with her OC Cat shpeshifter) for future town? Unconfirm if she's half Hrothgar or not on her father's side, mainly because she's already taller than the average Miqo'te.

Pictomancer looks wicked cool but Hylnyan's weird aether is slower to effectively manifest for Pictormancer during MSQ. Main BRD-DRK dropping into GNB for solidarity

FFXIV - Tank / Healer / DPS Dynamic

{Something that has been on my mind for a long while now, since I've been playing between North American and Japanese servers of FFXIV. I often escape to my Japan alt due to the behaviors I witness and experience in North American servers that render me quite uncomfortable, and I want to address it.}

(Please bear in mind that this is NOT ALL of the community, but still quite heartbreaking I feel this way about the North American players as of recent.)

Tanks - Do not assume ever that your healers can take big pulls. This does not make them "weak" or have a "skill issue" as many English deem it. No, this means the healer is either still learning, or has a limit to how much they can take. You must be mindful on how much your healer is able to do, and be lenient on them rather than scolding them and calling them "bad healer". Because, the fault is not the healer for failing to heal, the fault is the tank for being ignorant and inconsiderate of their healer's limitations.

Healers - Do not ever run ahead, or pull for your tanks, that is a one-way trip to finding yourself in trouble. If your tank is "not pulling enough" that is not the tank's issue, it is your issue. A tank pulls however much they feel they can handle, your job is to adjust or request lighter pulls if the pull itself is too much for you. If you are unsatisfied with the pull, don't be a healer and jeopardize yourself and the entire party.

DPS - Same as healer; do not run ahead or pull for your tanks. Do not take over for the tank if they are not doing justice in your satisfaction. You are a damage dealer, you do not have the proper mitigations and are second-rate to a tank if you are melee/physical ranged DPS. Do not make your healers work twice or thrice as hard because of your recklessness and impatience on completing a duty. Magical ranged DPS are just as guilty of these, their damage ratio is greater, but it does not earn them the right to pull for their tanks.

Teamwork, respect, and patience is everything, having an elitist mindset and comparing apples to oranges, is the worst way to go about playing FFXIV. Even if you migrated from another MMO, FFXIV is NOT the same as your other MMO. Stop turning every little thing into an issue.

I'm happy to say that with the newest additions of Paladin, Monk, Ninja, Sage, and Machinist, my FFXIV job stone shaker charms are now complete through all Endwalker jobs! I've been working on these since 2021, so to know that I only have Viper and Pictomancer left feels amazing!

Thinking about combining a couple character concepts. A padjal girl born into a prominent Gridanian family, who were very proud to have a padjali daughter and happily gave her up to the Fane, although they often visited her and maaaaybe spoiled her a bit more than they were "supposed" to. When Chiaki and their mom came to Eorzea, the two kids became very good friends, since the Padjal had always been at least curious about the world outside the Twelveswood. After the Calamity, however, she became more and more frustrated with the state of Gridania and how little she could actually do, chafing against the rules and restictions and how she would get in trouble for arguing back against her elders, even when they were wrong. The last straw was when her mother, who had been impregnated just before the Calamity and lost her husband and other children in the disaster, gave birth to another Padjali child. Although it destroyed her mother to give up her baby and last family member, she had no choice but to peacefully give up the child. The padjali girl got into an argument with the other padjal, who probably viewed the situation as "sad, but nessecary", and ran away to become an adventurer, hoping to find a way to actually help people with the Elemental's Blessing. (She considered asking Chiaki to come along, but at the time they were still way too sick to leave the care of the Conjurer's Guild). Unfortunately for her, the adventurer's life is perhaps far less rosey and full of do-gooding than she initially hoped.

Now I just need to come up with names for her and her mom... (I think Chiaki ended up keeping her mom company a lot. She lost her kids, Chiaki lost their own mom, it makes sense).

minor spoilers for EW magical ranged quest but if I didn't already have an ishgardian knight character I originally wanted to alt again as a Vaindreau who wasn't turned into a blasphemy; like the sheer concept of a man forced to bear the will of the entire Heavens Ward and the KOTR was just so metal that I'm honestly kind of mad all he became was a phantasmal dragon...thing. I really thought he'd go somewhere besides crying vengeance but it speaks like the remnants of their grudge, so I can't be that disappointed.

I also thought we'd get to meet him as a character and there were so many things I wanted to ask him when he woke up in the hospital confused and alone; I really would've liked the idea of him finding redemption and a new life but...EW has the same theme of simply killing those with transgressions and giving them no "after" for the sake of those who live in the present.

That being said, I keep coming back to his concept so we'll see if I cave eventually (though going through msq again incites in me primal fear).

done studying for the day, need to work on ko-fi projects but my attention and desire keeps reorienting to wanting to port the horrible ffxiv ttrpg sheets to roll20 (which i can't even do bc you need a pro subscription to make custom sheets, so this is Pointless Ruminating)

seriously though, these sheets are... something.

this is such a clusterfuck lmao... And Yet i really wanna make a vtt sheet for it bc i can't afford my xiv sub rn either, and being able to rp with friends and do Some of the game things in my precious little downtime would be nice

(and yes, we can technically do that without sheets, but. heem heem whimper i wanna use them for conflict resolution and enemy stat blocks, and also referring directly to the in-game abilities is fun for me idk idc)
