Bei mir war es etwas still, denn ich war mit Convorbereitung beschäftigt! Die Feencon ist in ein paar Tagen, ich freue mich schon. Cons: Feencon: June 17 – 18 Dokomi: June 30 – July 2 I’ve been a bit quiet, because I’ve been busy with con preparation! Feencon is only a few days away and I am excited.

Here's a cute story about selling our TTRPG at conventions
My brother Nick and I did 3 cons in a row this month, selling our TTRPG The Magical Land of Yeld. We're an indie publisher and do a bunch of cons each year, but normally not back to back like this. Last weekend we were at a small nerd themed holiday show called geek the Halls in Portland, OR (our hometown). Lots of really nice nerdy people, a good DJ and free admission. (my brother Nick in the photo at our booth)
Tumblr media
A girl and her dad come up to the booth, super interested. The dad has all kinds of questions about our game, which is an all-ages fantasy adventure. Its great for kids and its great for adults, but the sweet spot is parents and kids who want to play together. The dad is super interested, and keeps trying to get his daughter interested. And she is just... not having it. To be clear, she SEEMS interested. And the dad certainly expects her to be. He says several times that it seems to be exactly her kind of thing. But she keeps shaking her head and trying to pull him away. And when that doesn't work, she keeps making excuses. "Dad, you already have so many games. When will you even play this one?" She also keeps giving my brother and I this weird look, like she's expecting us to tell her dad he can't buy her game. I couldn't figure out what was going on. So we're standing there like idiots as her dad is trying so hard to buy the game and she is trying so hard not to let him. I'm on the verge of giving them permission to walk away from our booth, telling them we'll be there all weekend and they can talk about it and decide if they want to come back later. Which is code for "We know we're never going to see you again, but thanks at least for looking." You hate to lose a sale like that, especially to an enthusiastic gamers, but you don't want to make anyone uncomfortable either. Finally it all comes out. My brother realized it before the girl actually had to say it. We had met her two weeks ago at a different convention and told her about our game, and she had bought it for her dad as a Christmas present! The weird insistent looks she was giving me was her desperately trying to get me to remember that and not ruin the surprise. I don't know how I didn't' remember her. I had talked to her for about a half hour, and she had specifically told me she was buying the game for her dad. She was even wearing the exact same Invader Zim hat! Everyone laughed and the dad was excited for his Christmas gift. I felt a little bit like an idiot, but it had been a long month. I'd probably spoken to about 2000 customers about our game, so I guess I was just burned out. Anyway. Teen Girl with Invader Zim Hat? Enthusiastic Gamer Dad? If you read this, I hope you really have fun with our game. We made it for you.

ISP-N out of the big four has the funniest naming scheme to me (granted they all are but listen).
They're all like "we defend against piracy and evil merchenaries by shipping your goods the safest!" And constantly trying to snuff out and push down the alligations that one of the big reasons that is is because they just fucking kill all the pirates in a sector, and if anybody else tries to ship through northstar routes they just use THEIR OWN GODDAMN PIRATES.
LIKE you are fighting the piracy alligations... and then name like half your mechs after pirates. Unhinged shit.

i'm not saying the discarded vessel HAS to come back and be relevant later, but considering that a ton of deltarune's conceptual focus is around giving certain rpg character types agency and internality when they normally wouldn't be given any (kris as a player character who resists being controlled, the darkners as RPG enemies/npcs,) I think it's super likely that "customizable player vessel" is also going to be added to the roster of Guys With Agency. it fits thematically and would be a good way to tie the beginning and ending of the game together

Protean Anagram Solutions
When I started making proteans last summer, I decided to name them all after a person, shuffling the letters in the name to make an anagram. I challenged my followers to figure out who each protean was named after.
So here's the solutions. Some of these people got when the monsters were originally posted. Others I got no replies on.
Tumblr media
The temortanga, protean of fashion, was named after Stefani Germanotta, aka Lady Gaga
Tumblr media
The alengos, protean of plant life and ecology, was named after Henry Gleason, an ecologist who argued against a universal "climax community" and that every ecosystem had a unique balance of plant life.
Tumblr media
The ricretillo, protean of weather, air and water, was named after Evangelista Torricelli, who invented the barometer and was the first to explain how winds form from differences in air pressure and temperature.
Tumblr media
The cthilpuk, protean of emotions and moods, was named after Robert Plutchik, who created a psychological classification for emotions.
Tumblr media
The yexhul, protean of evolution and animal life, was named after the Huxley clan, particularly Thomas Henry Huxley, first generation evolutionary biologist, and his grandsons Julian (a eugenicist) and Aldous (who parodied eugenics in Brave New World as a dig at his brother).
Tumblr media
The heputwisa, protean of conspiracies and lies, was named after Adam Weishaupt, founder of the Bavarian Illuminati.
Tumblr media
The renegwe, protean of plate tectonics, earth and fire was named after Alfred Wegener, proponent of continental drift

Bimbos of the Death Sun by Sharyn McCrumb
Cover art by Jeff Easley
Windwalker / TSR, February 1987
Even before the unscheduled murder of the world's most detestable cult author, Rubicon was destined to go down in fen history as the most outrageous fantasy convention ever. The great chronicler of the fantasy adventures of the noble Viking warrior, Tratyn Runewind, was suddenly no more. Appin dungannon was dead - a bullet through his hear and a spilled bottle of scotch at his side. Who hated him enough to kill him? The answer: Practically everyone.
James Owens Mega, creator of that deathless tome, Bimbos of the Death Sun, dons the roll of Dungeon Master, and solves this uproarious whodunit in the ultimate role-playing game climax.

I have been thinking of making the basic skills in yokei godneu have a unique way of identifying them, the front part determines the power, the middle determines how it is done, and the last part is what It can do, though powerful or unique skills will deviate form this formula, but I am not sure if people will be able to understand it.

Bowyer headcanons please?
Of course, I like doing headcanons ! And Bowyer is in my opinion the most fun one to characterize in the Smithy gang, so here are some of them !
Bowyer :
- He's almost never truly alone, being always followed by his Aeros. But when he is, he doesn’t mind it that much but the problem is that…he has no idea what to do on his own. So he then goes to find some company since he's bored.
- He hogs all of the targets on the training ground and manages to use them all at the same time, which is unfortunate for the Axem rangers who also use these targets. It doesn’t help that Bowyer usually wakes up early in the morning to begin his training.
- If he finds an unknown object, he will absolutely try to use it as ammunition or as a target. But if it doesn’t work the way he wants, his curiosity dies out and he'll just ignore it. (This one is based on his French dialogue where his first reaction to the green star is to use it as a target !)
- As someone who tried archery you cannot tell me that Bowyer isn’t the strongest one physically, at least arm wise. If he wanted to he could lift a couch with people still on it easily with one arm, which just brings more chaos in the factory if he's looking for something he lost.
There you go, hope you like them !

So I started rotating lizago at supersonic speeds yesterday and decided to pay a little visit back to 90 Seconds to Midnight AU because I miss them. General for OSNF finale and technically up through OPD Episode 6.
There's something about Liz and Thiago being more physically intimate with each other during the storyline of the au. In canon, they're not really the most "touchy-feely" people, which includes with each other. But deeper personal connection and deeper (shared) trauma tends to break that down a little.
They're not constantly cuddled up to each other, but they'll bump shoulders or lean on each other on the couch. When they sleep, sometimes it's in separate beds, and sometimes it's in the same bed but separated---unless one of them is particularly looking for solid reassurance, like after Thiago has one of his more disorienting nightmares and needs to be grounded. (Liz gets to weighted-blanket him. It's great.)
It's worth mentioning that as time goes on, Thiago has started to---strangely enough?---sleep in a fetal position. Unconsciously curl up. And as time goes on ((as life feels more dire, as they descend deeper, as their spiral tightens)), they spend more time closer to each other in bed.
Some nights, either Liz or Thiago will wake up to find that Thiago has hugged Liz from behind and made her curl up with him. And it's not uncomfortable, just. Noticeable. Unusual. Sleeping this tight to each other, "cuddling" this closely, isn't something they did before. But it certainly doesn't feel wrong now.
Their genuine bond as friends/partners and their shared trauma and their growing codependency and the paranormal weirdness going on with Thiago ALL have an impact on their relationship and what they do within it. And it is impossible to pinpoint which of these aspects that the growing comfort with physical intimacy stems from, because it is all tangled up.

More booth pics! We sold really well at all 3 of these shows. Pitching Yeld to gamers who have never heard of us is fun. So is having people walk right up to the booth and tell us they heard about our game but hadn't had a chance to check it out yet.
