Been working on some first run Chou sprites for funsies, here’s a handful of the ones I’ve done so far

#keese draws #isat #new game+#comic siffrin #comicfrin #isat siffrin #I mainly just wanted to figure out how chou may express differently than normal siffrin #they are alas far less kitty cat </3 #but yeah even in their first run they were generally much lower energy than siffrin mostly due to stress #they are less used to traveling for long periods of time along with the whole savior thing going on #and while they start off generally handling their timeloop situation well enough even by the time they get the second orb they’re Tired man #and after the incident where they lost their eye they’re So ready for this to be over #and they haven’t even hit the wall of their final boss fight yet it took them a long while to get through that for the first time #the main thing is that their party spended most of their journey far more underleveled #for most of the main fights they were able to scrape through since the crew did have some disproportionally powerful abilities earlier than #the isat party would have similar skills (like their first recruit is a full blown shield specialist)#but as they got further and further and the boss gimmicks got more specific and punishing it would get Much harder #in the fight where chou lost their eye they were stuck for Months the first run trying to find a way to squeak through the fight #in game terms basically trying to abuse the consistent rng seed to find a chain of actions that would let them win #long story short the boss basically acts as a harsh punish for their lack of a proper healer #it also for realsies kills people like. during the battle. so the margin for error is slim to none.#basically once it takes out someone it’ll continue to target them and it can’t have its intent redirected #and it’s resistant to all craft types until it’s about to and failed to perform the final blow attack #without going too much into the party comp and how they generally fight just know that even if they weren’t underleveled this would low key #hard counter them since their whole game plan is about redirecting damage and simply killing the enemy before it kills them #so during this first run this fight was actual hell for chou to figure out and poor bastard hadn’t even hit their worst wall yet 😔#anyways that was a whole ramble that had nothing to do with the actual post I’m making. whoops.#point is they’ve earned the right to be low energy and stressed as hell they were Not built to carry a rpg party

Uh hi there! I'm new to all this omni-net thing but Kanmi says i've gotta introduce myself so hello omni-net!

My name is Coryander (or Cory but Thebe's the only one who calls me that)! she/her only please and thank you! oh ya my callsign is Ouroboros (or Oro for short) and I currently pilot a swallowtail chassis named Wallcreeper (like Tichodroma muraria)!! uuh i'm pretty new to this whole piloting thing too, well like piloting a big mech i've "piloted" my old ship a bit.. but anyways Wallcreeper's been a nice experience so far!

Kanmi says to tell you all who we are (whoops) uh i'm a part of a little lancer squad unofficially called Dido's Divers (after our leader, the Dido), it'll mostly be me on this but i might talk about my other crew-members too!

Thebe! my best friend! (callsign: Neutron) -

Thebe pilots her Togukawa (Hemera), it seems pretty scary to me but she likes the heat of the battle!

Kanmi (who’s here helping me do this, thanks kanmi) (callsign: Rosy)-

Kanmi's our resident Drake pilot, and the talker of the group!

Liza, my mentor (callsign: Sour Patch) -

Liza's a Tortuga pilot, and she's our pilot pilot! she's pretty badass!

Dido, the leader of our little crew (that’s her callsign, i haven’t asked her name and she hasn’t given it soooo Dido it is) -

Dido used to pilot a rather scary Blackbeard! Now she's our official Handler!

uuh Kanmi says i gotta say that both mine and Thebe’s mechs were salvaged legally, they were? i’m not sure why he put that in bold? oh also we’re not affiliated with any manufacturer or any other independent company and we follow the pillars and all that good stuff

Unrelated, my birthday is coming up in a little over a week, hit me with some book, game, art supplies, or literally any other thing you’d recommend

#I don’t like asking for things I want from my family #they wish that I would but I won’t lol #so they just give me money to spend #for books: no modern (as in booktok era) romances. no spice (unless it’s dune or a cookbook in which case THAT spice is acceptable)#for games I will play literally anything #rpgs cozy games first person shooters fantasy etc. you name it #if it’s fun and has a good story I am down for whatever #usually #for art supplies I’m trying to get back into traditional art and learn new mediums #I’ve been looking at markers and different types of paint so any recommendations on good brands there are appreciated #probably delete later

I finally published my own set of miniatures today and I am very excited about it.

They are based on the Vestan mechs from Lancer's Operation Solstice Rain / Winter Scar. Everything is modular so it can be mixed and matched to make whatever. Its just a few parts for now to get started but I'm hoping folks try out making them and enjoy it!

fuck me and my 101 hobbies (i'm attempting to make music for the first time with the lyrics inspired by architect "false" from empires... evil alter egos/siblings have my heart)

#that means I'm juggling a free sample of fl studio and synthesizer V on my hands while trying to comprehend how the fuck both of them work #also my fault for making the lyrics be in portuguese AND english. I made my life harder with the vocals #in any case. Here's a cute story about selling our TTRPG at conventions

My brother Nick and I did 3 cons in a row this month, selling our TTRPG The Magical Land of Yeld. We're an indie publisher and do a bunch of cons each year, but normally not back to back like this. Last weekend we were at a small nerd themed holiday show called geek the Halls in Portland, OR (our hometown). Lots of really nice nerdy people, a good DJ and free admission. (my brother Nick in the photo at our booth)

A girl and her dad come up to the booth, super interested. The dad has all kinds of questions about our game, which is an all-ages fantasy adventure. Its great for kids and its great for adults, but the sweet spot is parents and kids who want to play together. The dad is super interested, and keeps trying to get his daughter interested. And she is just... not having it. To be clear, she SEEMS interested. And the dad certainly expects her to be. He says several times that it seems to be exactly her kind of thing. But she keeps shaking her head and trying to pull him away. And when that doesn't work, she keeps making excuses. "Dad, you already have so many games. When will you even play this one?" She also keeps giving my brother and I this weird look, like she's expecting us to tell her dad he can't buy her game. I couldn't figure out what was going on. So we're standing there like idiots as her dad is trying so hard to buy the game and she is trying so hard not to let him. I'm on the verge of giving them permission to walk away from our booth, telling them we'll be there all weekend and they can talk about it and decide if they want to come back later. Which is code for "We know we're never going to see you again, but thanks at least for looking." You hate to lose a sale like that, especially to an enthusiastic gamers, but you don't want to make anyone uncomfortable either. Finally it all comes out. My brother realized it before the girl actually had to say it. We had met her two weeks ago at a different convention and told her about our game, and she had bought it for her dad as a Christmas present! The weird insistent looks she was giving me was her desperately trying to get me to remember that and not ruin the surprise. I don't know how I didn't' remember her. I had talked to her for about a half hour, and she had specifically told me she was buying the game for her dad. She was even wearing the exact same Invader Zim hat! Everyone laughed and the dad was excited for his Christmas gift. I felt a little bit like an idiot, but it had been a long month. I'd probably spoken to about 2000 customers about our game, so I guess I was just burned out. Anyway. Teen Girl with Invader Zim Hat? Enthusiastic Gamer Dad? If you read this, I hope you really have fun with our game. We made it for you.

Im just curious! This is not meant to be a malicious poll. Im personally unsubbed because of a mix of dawntrails subparness and other gameplay reasons. but that doesnt mean everyone is as depressed as I am lol

i honestly want to love 14, i miss it everyday! but ever since august it's lost it's luster for me u__u

In some ways it's hard for me to give specific DM advice with confidence because every time I run a campaign, I choose a different design philosophy from the last one. And not in a "The last time went poorly so we're learning from our mistakes" kind of way, but in more of a "Woo, that was fun! Now time for something COMPLETELY different" kind of way.

#all while still running the same system #I just like to shake it up #it's part of what holds my interest as a DM #sure I could work on honing my skills to perfection with one specific style #but I'd much rather try a new perspective and see how it goes #RPGs

Mapping is pretty tedious… I’ve made a little floor plan to make it a bit easier, but it’s far from final. Likely will have some downsizing done to it.

Having this in the program itself is fun because I can set the starting point in this at any time and test how nicely each of these rooms flow together. It’s also pretty surreal since it’s all placeholder tiles, smaller scale, and no separation between rooms.
