Despite how obviously chaotic the other boys are I think that two things are actively disadvantaging and maybe even endangering Time rn
1) his worry for Twilight’s welfare and that of the others
2) his penchant for distancing himself from others.
He’s healed a lot from his adventures and the trauma of them thanks to time (heh) and Malon’s kindness, patience, and unconditional love. HOWEVER the things we endure remain with us even if they do not hurt quite so badly anymore (especially when they occur in such drastic ways during such formative years). Somewhere inside (perhaps not so deep now) is that terrified little boy who won’t allow himself to trust or love again. Who doesn’t want to get too close cause “nothing ever lasts”
He’s used to going it alone. He’s spent longer being solo than he has being married or teamed up with the other Links. His approach to tackling dungeons — whether chaotic or organized or somewhere in between — has always been the same.
Alone.
He’s the one who plummets down endless abyss.
He’s the one who bleeds and breaks and gets lost.
He’s the one who figures it out in the end.
And that’s okay. Because it’s lonely. It’s scary. But it’s only him who is in danger. And he can deal with that.

“You laugh because when it’s you who drags yourself home half-dead, it’s ok, it’s under control, but when it’s one of our boys…”
When it’s only him he doesn’t have to worry so much. He’s got a certain degree of control (real or imagined). And that is what he’s grappling for right now. Control to change a terrible fate he still sees looming. Control to keep his boys from suffering the way he has.
But now, with this last update, he realizes he doesn’t have it.
And while his expression here makes me laugh, it also saddens me. Four’s right and he knows it, he’s trying to resign himself to it.
Them remaining together — remaining with him, under his watchful eye — will end in their deaths at this point. It’s just not working.
He’s virtually powerless to keep them all safe. He’s the Hero of Time and he’s virtually powerless.
And that might just break him. Because the fear is still there. The fear that something will happen to one of his boys and he should’ve been there. He should’ve been there to stop it.
But he wasn’t.
Like he wasn’t there to protect the others from the Iron Knuckle
And that will consume him, weaken him. Until the Shadow can exploit it

Based on a reddit comment and a convo with @turbulenthandholding - because the gears were turning.
There's something here. Carmy is shaped by the two women in his life - the comparison between Claire and Donna - but also influenced by Andrea and Sydney to lead with a gentle approach.
Something here about feminine leadership-based on empathy, intuition and collaboration.
It's not toxic masculinity - being a ' ball breaker' like Chef David.
Carmy desires for Sydney to push him the same way Chef Terry did.
But there's a complexity to that - because as Sydney said, she's not his babysitter. He also needs to push himself to be better - but with a gentle push, of course.

one of the things mourn watch rook has the most comments about/seems pretty knowledgeable about when they're there is the way the necropolis will just shuffle rooms around every now and then on a whim, so I'm headcanoning that rye's previous area of expertise, outside of general watcher duties, was keeping track of and rediscovering these lost or displaced areas. that, and basically acting as a sort of tour guide when need be, such as on the day they met varric.
'have we really misplaced the ashen cathedral again? *sigh* that's the third time this year, we really must strengthen the wards. oh well. someone send for ingellvar, they'll track it down in no time I'm sure. and it might keep them out of trouble for a while'
#rye's mourn watch dwarf father figure was responsible for maintaining and securing the buildings and structures of the necropolis#not quite in the top leadership of the construction side of the watchers but pretty high up there#so it makes a lot of sense to me that way too they've been to more sections of the necropolis than even most watchers go#and know the buildings and structures very well#rye would just like. set out alone for a week track down a missing mausoleum and nod in satisfaction as he updated the maps haha#this instinct for isolation and disappearing into the immense ancient silence shared only by the dead and the weight of his own grief#had no long term effects on his psychological development. of course. literally don't even worry about it he's fine :)#'I go on short hectic jaunts into the world of the living. and then I come back here and it's quiet once it becomes too much to bear#I think that's what they call work life balance or something' (it's not)#dragon age#dragon age: the veilguard#dragon age: the veilguard spoilers#dragon age spoilers#oc: Ellaryen Ingellvar

Natural team dynamic progression over stream for Blue team (Soulfire) [Day One of purgatory]:
Split into two main groups—
Farming/base-bound: Tina, Missa, Lenay, Niki
Fighters/Runners: Bad, Tubbo, Pierre
Tubbo is main official leader, and Bad and Tina have been acting as co-leaders per their groups for the most part. Tina had been the biggest support leader and the main person keeping morale up within the group-- Missa, Lenay, and Niki being her main supply runners/farmers that she distributed tasks through. Pierre has become main runner who turns in missions, while Tubbo and Bad run distraction. Majority of plans are thought up by Tina, Bad, Tubbo, and Pierre, and are run through Tubbo before execution.
They’ve maintained lead the entire stream for the most part.
#qsmp#this is mostly my personal tracking so I can keep note of character dynamics#I find it really interesting how natural leadership progresses#and Tina has been MVP in keeping them all tied together#she checks in continuously esp on the quiet members like niki missa and lenay#she is the backbone of their opporations handling all farming management and tasks#without her they’d have nothing to turn in#I’m so proud of her lol I didn’t know Tina before qsmp but I would die for her#this is not without noting other members moments like missa getting apples and lenay getting dirt#niki has been fueling them too#bad and Tubbo have been PVP heavy to protect Pierre and do their best to keep close ranks#Tubbo in particular killed a lot of people. probably the most out of all the team#and bad tends to play tubbos close backup#Pierre also had a moment where he snuck in and turned in a BUNCH of missions unprotected#everyone’s done a good job!! they are a very cohesive team#esp with a lot of players not usually present on the server

#duskmaw#wc oc#waca oc#warrior cats oc#his story is he lost his husband fogfennel to the hawk that scarred his side#and remained a quiet warrior afterwards. he had night terrors of the hawk fight but never recovered from them#he became close with a kit named kestrelkit and eventually became deputy#where he allowed in a kittypet named joey much to much of his clanmates disdain#many cats disliked his acceptance of ‘friendly’ outsiders versus aggressive ones#and he eventually became leader#and outlived multiple deputies without losing a single life. joey was chased from the clan by his mentor and duskstar regretted picking tha#mentor#he became like a father figure to kestrelchirp and a cat named wolfyowl#but eventually realized he’d likely outlive them by many lifetimes#and not being able to cope with that gave up his lives and handed leadership to his deputy darkwhisp and became a senior warrior again#duskmaw (oc)#duskstar (oc)

I gravitate towards jobs and such in which I make decisions, and prefer to live alone which comes with many decisions, and then do creative hobbies that require me to make so many decisions, and I thought "Huh, decisions are hard, what would a nice day without decisions look like?" And then I realized I just meticulously planned out a whole day of no decisions by just making the decisions beforehand.
#im so tired of decisions#rn im pretty new at my job so not too many decisions but still aome stuff i have to do independently#but my last job was so many decisions. i coordinated so much and if i did it wrong evryone hated me#and before that i was a shift lead#and for the last four years at summer camp ive been an area director#and this year i applied for an office position which is even hugher than area director#and im trying to move out of my parents house which comes with so many decisions#why do i keep doing this to myself#i like leadership and independence too fucking much and then im burnt out on it#and i would love just one day in which i didnt have to make any decisions#unfortunately i know myself and i know that someone else would not make the right decisions#so i want to make the decisions beforehand#and then someone else just executes the decisions for me. if that makes sense#like i want to tell someone 'tomorrow we will wake up at 9am and go get coffee. i want aan iced mocha#after that we'll go to target and get a quick lunch at qdoba. one hour after lunch i would like an iced caramel coffee#i would like to drink this coffee while we go on a walk along the lake#then id like to go home and knit for two hours. you may do something in the same space but it has to be quiet and non-distracting#then we will have such a late dinner. pizza unless you are willing to cook one of the three things i am always okay with#then i will peruse my phone until midnight. then i will sleep#i want to lay that all out for someone snd then they facilitate it#like they just know 'okay its 9am get up we're going for coffee.' 'alright its midnight put down your phone for sleeps'#all damn day they just do the decisions for me. even though i already made them so i know they were made right#idk if that makes sense. im just so tired#i was laying in bed before sleeping and decided to plan my perfect day of no decisions#and realized that it was not decision-free because i had just made every decision#did i mention how tired i am

baby....... little baby. little boy 😭 okay. okay 😭😭😭😭 i am thinking about how frank tells ian that he's been a drama queen since the day he was born which is genuinely hilarious to me but it also has me THINKING....
when we meet ian he holds his cards pretty close to his chest, right? he still feels HUGE emotions and they burst out in pretty intense ways, but from day to day he just kinda moves through the world rolling his eyes at people sfkldj
now, we gotta take this with a grain of salt bc i feel like ian or any of the kids just saying "hi" would count as dramatic to frank lol but! let's think about baby drama queen ian.
thinking about ian dropping his popsicle in the grass by that above ground pool and losing his absolute mind over it when fiona tells him there aren't any more..... thinking about him seeing a dog in the neighborhood and pitching a fit in the middle of the sidewalk when he learns that no, he can't have this dog because it does in fact have someone walking him..... thinking about lip always beating him at battleship and ian flipping the little board over every time, stamping his little feet all the way up the stairs asklfd

going unbelievably insane over this
#tm#i i'm like i'm short circuiting#the way - when they both carry so much pain and trauma with them; where they deal with death and the worst of people every day;#when they've lost so much; lost each other more than once -#one of the most pervasive themes in their story; woven throughout it from the very beginning is happiness#wanting to give whatever happiness they can to others -#comforting families and getting justice for victims and jane's gifts and pranks and lisbon's supportive leadership and understanding -#wanting to be happy themselves; and maybe most importantly wanting the other to be happy#like just off the top of my head (and i'm so tempted to go right back and rewatch and actually write down every one) there's so much of it#and it makes me crazy because of how it's expressed on both sides#lisbon doesn't SAY it much - most of the 'i want you to be happy' kind of lines are jane's - but she SHOWS it#from the day they met and she helped him up off the floor she's there in support of him;#her quiet comfort when he's low; her eye rolls and indulging grins when he's pulling a silly trick on the team;#her soft smiles in the background when someone genuinely thanks him and he doesn't know what to do#with the pain she has in her past; in growing up; with the tough skin she's wrapped herself in to get through what she has#she appreciates the quieter moments; the moments where her big bombastic partner lets down his guard and#stops putting on so much of a show and she can see the joy he can still find in the little things even with all the darkness he carries#it's jane that has the big loud moments - the confessions and the spoken words - where he states outright (and repeatedly)#how much he wants her to be happy; how important it is to him and that makes so much sense because that's who he is#(not always of course but more often than not and that's how he presents himself)#he's dramatic and he's bold and his grief is the same; this giant unavoidable yoke that's never going to completely fall off his shoulders#and idk there's just something so beautiful to me about this man with the more obvious burden of pain being so doggedly - and vocally -#committed to the happiness of this woman who tries to hide her pain and shies away from comfort more than she's able to accept it#and that through everything they've been together the ways both of them approach happiness and each other have also come together#where he can say something like this and not only can she be happy for him but she can know just how much of that is because of her#'for the first time in YOU know how long' and she does#they just make me crazy

#cosmo rambles#dimension cross edition#been thinking a whole lot about gear and source lately and of course RGB#DC too who is also part of the crew as the medic#and ive been working out their sort of connections to one another a little bit more here and there#gear and rgb are very much siblings and they about equally run the dimension cross crew#rgb takes more of the leadership position while gear usually takes the level headed backseat role but#ive found it increasingly funny to consider rgb might be the more normal and less impulsive one of the two#and by that i mean rgb is impulsive for sure. but she's less likely to do something horribly dangerous that would affect everyone#while gear may make a rash decision that might. endanger everyone. just a little bit. because he's either mad or impatient#gear absolutely normally is sort of the voice of reason and he is a very reasonable and wise guy#but he's also very strong and might actually be the one to pick a fight if he's angry and defensive enough#rgb... well. she's fought sonic before. stupidly. acted like a supervillain after finding a chaos emerald to convince him to fight her 1v1#then had to call time out because he almost kicked her ass into next year but. yknow.#basically. your honor they are silly#on the other hand source is kind of like the third sibling but also This Weird Dog We Found. Can We Keep Him#and then Wait we Don't Need To Ask To Keep Him. We're Keeping Him.#source is unnerving outwardly but they're pretty quiet all things considered. things considered being They Are Slime Mold in a Fursuit#but of course their whole thing is having the simultaneous best and worst comedic timing. we're in a space bar?#big angry space bikers? source is going to walk up to them and annoy them and then the whole dimension cross crew has to deal with a fight#or get kicked out of the bar. whichever comes first#dimension cross as a crew is also only four guys and they are not that organized. it's more like a road trip with general roles. in space.#interdimensionally also.#DC... their personality isnt really.. defined yet! they're somewhere between mad scientist and anxious nerd. they are just a woerm.#and by that i mean they're a worm off da string but also cybernetically enhanced. and the enhancements they installed on their own.#naturally DC is very skilled as a medic both for cyborgs and fully biological things alike#they're kinda just. rotating source trying to figure him out. endless fascination but also trying to avoid them getting hurt#i gotta think about DC more tho. theyre the least developed member of dimension cross and i feel bad#also got a new member of the crew going soon enough . .. .. im excited to think about the interactions between them all LOL
