Re-Entrification: Documentary Screening | Presented by BraveMaker
With lyrical poetry, this film tells the story of residents displaced from their homes due to the Bay Area's high cost of living.
Re-Entrification is a feature-length documentary film that tells the story of residents that have been displaced from their homes due to the city's high cost of living. Tiny homes became a sanctuary where families can have the fundamental human right of a home. This film tells their story on how they made the decision to seek this type of support. Re-Entrification sheds light on the housing crisis in the Bay Area.
Re-Entrification means being able to move back into communities and neighborhoods that a person is originally from. It’s the way to bring back its history, beauty, struggle, pain - the soul. Re-Entrification is to create and reclaim sustainable economic structures that allow people living in the neighborhoods to thrive within their own neighborhood; to recapture the native essence of that place.
Doors open at 6pm SATURDAY MARCH 9TH. Capacity is limited.
Film program starts promptly at 6:30pm which includes a question and response time with the filmmakers and special guests.
BraveMaker is HQ'd at Sequoia Church in Redwood City and has a cinema quality screen, projector and AV system.

Was talking to my sister about how sskk subvert conventional representations of sun/moon relationships with Atsushi being the moon (Beast Beneath the Moonlight, protective, blue) and Akutagawa being the sun (powerful, destructive, red). And that's when she said “of course, that ties with how the moon shines brighter because of the sun behind it, and Atsushi is the most powerful thanks to the aid of Rashomon Akutagawa provides”. And I think it's something worth writing down.

Phil: I'm just- I'm just living my life on my little like, beach house, Bad! Why are they picking fights with an old man just sitting at his fckin'– his fisherman's house, man!
Bad: I don't know! [Laughs] I don't know!
Phil: I'm just like- I'm in retirement!
Bad: They're just- they're just out for blood– maybe you're right! Maybe they are just bored.
Phil: I'm retired! I'm literally retired, on my beach house and they're picking fights.
Bad: I know, it's crazy, it's crazy. But it's awesome too, think about it– a war! A war, Philza!
Phil: [Sighs] I'm so tired of those, I've seen too many of them, dude. So many.
Bad: [Laughs] Nah, I feel ya. I feel ya. Have you met Mr. Reaper yet?
Phil: [Overlapping with Bad's question] Anyway, how- how are you, by the way? I heard you died.
Bad: Mm, yeah, no I did. Um...
Phil: How was that?
Bad: Fun.
Phil: Yeah?
Bad: It was... an experience. I mean, it's not the first time, but... you know how it goes.
Phil: I do, yeah. I do.

If Leo can defeat his enemies easily by using the 'Portal Chop' move, wouldn't that mean he'll actually be the #1 priority for the whole Krang to kill when they spotted him? Even more so motivated to use their abilities to remove his ninpo to get rid of a 'bump on the road'?
Hehehe I’m glad someone asked! Yes he and his brothers are on the Krang’s most wanted list. But here’s the thing: only a few Krang are actually capable of sealing off mystic energy/ninpo. Specifically Krang 1. This is because there are different types of Krang with very different abilities (details under the cut).
To answer your question plainly, since Krang 1 is one of the few that can seal off the Ninpo powers, that has left the two sides at a stale mate. The turtles are DANGEROUS, and could do some lethal damage to Krang 1, but if Krang 1 gets the drop on them it’s all over for the turtles. Both sides KNOW this. What’s more I’ve given Krang 1 a weakness that he can only use this ability every so often. So he’d need to get the brothers all together in one fell swoop otherwise it leaves him vulnerable. For this reason the brothers seldom fight as all full set when in close proximity to him (another reason why Donnie normally stays back at HQ).
So we’ll have to wait and see how that pans out. Hope that answered your question. For those interested in the Krang types you can check out my ramblings under the cut:
Tumblr media
KRANG TYPES:
Sister Krang is a Brawler Type. She’s the most violent of the three, the strongest outside of her mech, and can keep going even after receiving a number of life threatening hits.
Brother Krang is an Infester Type. He can only speak through the people he’s infested, is physically weak, and goes down easily in battle. However he’s considered far more dangerous because of his ability to easily infest and transform prey to become part of the Krang hive mind. Infesters are also the tech crew and are best suited to drive the ships.
Krang 1 is a Prime Type, the rarest and most well rounded of the three. He has the brains and the brawn. Master tactician who can read the minds of his prey. He’s a powerful fighter (especially in his mech), and is able to use his connection to Empyrean to seal off mystic abilities such as Ninpo. While the Krang is considered a hive mind the Prime is the one in the driver seat as well as the “face man.” Normally there is only one or two Prime Types at a time.
From these three I’ve spawned several more types (including the Fighter type that end up killing Leo in the end) but I’ll save that for a proper Krang hierarchy post in the future.
If you’ve gotten this far thanks for reading my TED Talk.

There's SO FUCKING MUCH going on in the QSMP with the eggs, the dragon, whatever Dark is, appearing for Leonarda and possibly being the same monster as Quackity's vision after Tilín's death. It possibly being what kills the eggs when the parents don't cime within a day, as BBH pointed out, it's weird that they just die like that, they're getting hunted
Cucurucho. In general. And his apparent rivalry with the angel, telling Maxo not to trust him. Spying on everyone even more now. Watching Slime sleep, watching the group of Maxo, BBH and Foolish as they try and piece together the truth. Him showing Slime footage of his daughter getting killed
The angel telling Slime to pick between bringing back Flipa or Tilín and him choosing Tilín hoping Quackity won't find out
Maxo wanting to make a church to bring his son Trump back, but not trusting Cucurucho, telling him this better not be a joke and Cucurucho laughing at him. Maxo fearing he might become a robot like Luzu, because nobody knows who the fuck messed with Luzu
All the parents of dead eggs are getting desperate, violent, vengeful and also closer to the truth
The eggs are most likely the lotus flower from Quackity's twitter dns. Keeping the players docile and complacent as long as they're there. The ones with dead eggs are swinging towards the other end of the spectrum
Whoever is controlling the whole island experiment also has letters, which mention something about Fabergé eggs (irl a set if 69 artisanal easter eggs for the russian tzar) and how many of them can be shipped out within a week. So the eggs we know are possibly not the only ones and whoever is running this whole thing is purposely sending out new ones
Tumblr media
And also something about sheep's blood for potions... Because it's in style?? I don't even know where the letters came from, tbh
Tumblr media
Translation:
Kind regards
Let's go back to the XVI century! We need to make a price quotation for sheep's blood. This last fashion trend in magic formulas should be of upmost importance for the laboratory. Yes, we already know that modern budgets almost never include sheep's blood, but this is what our fashion trends seem to require.
With appreciation, we wish to receive your commercial proposals as soon as possible. We thank your great collaboration in advance in preparing the price quotations for us
This is running DEEP

I genuinely love how each character on the QSMP is living in a different genre, so two characters doing the same thing have different consequences, and it has different weight on their story / the QSMP narrative as a whole.
For example, Cellbit killing 4 Federation workers is treated very seriously, and we know his actions will have serious consequences in the future.
Meanwhile, Etoiles wiping out every single Federation worker on his way out of an infiltration mission is par for the course because man's living in a shonen anime.

Listen, I don't know what pearl-clutching queerphobic parent needs to hear this, but seeing as decades of constant exposure to depictions of hetero romances and relationships being touted as "normal" or "default" in media hasn't turned every queer person straight, acknowledging the existence and normality of queer relationships isn't going to turn your straight kid queer.
Indoctrination is the patriarchal Moral Majority's game plan, not ours. You're just pissed off that it's not working. Because that's not how it WORKS.
Sincerely,
An Elder Queer

TRANSLATION
Steve: Hi! Danny: Wow! Hey, how- how- how handsome, he, in his suit. Steve: It's for you. I wore it for you. Danny: Thank you. Steve: You're welcome.
Steve: Hey, what are you doing?
Danny: Is that a clip-on?
Steve: It's not a clip-on. What did I say?!
Danny: Your tie is crooked. Can I fix it, love?
Danny: Darling, come here.
Steve: Thank you.
Danny: I thought they didn't wear ties in Hawaii.
Steve: They don't, but it's a special day. So I wore it.
LatAm dub once again killing me here, with cuteness.

I’m genuinely curious what you would do if you were in Curly’s shoes for the week leading up to the accident. This isn’t a malicious question, I’m just obsessing over his inaction because genuinely considering the circumstances, what could Curly have done to prevent the tragedy? They’re a few months in of a year long expedition— too late to turn back, too early to try and make it to the finish line— and your estranged best friend has done something unforgivable. There’s no temp jail on the ship either. You’re all being fired after this. There’s no way for Anya to get any sort of pregnancy care or an abortion procedure on the ship, and she may well give birth during the trip. It’s like… genuinely, what do you do?
It's hard to say when you're on the outside looking in. When you're looking at someone else failing to do something, and knowing the consequences, it's easy to say "Well, I would have done this differently." But obviously I'm not actually under the same pressure, with a clock ticking over my head or anything, yknow? So all I can say is what I hope I would do.
Ideally, I'd like to think I'd strip Jimmy of his rank. No access to the cockpit, to be accompanied at all times (or at least as much is reasonable. But then I don't know how successfully you can rope Swansea and Daisuke into going along with that.) I can't say how that would turn out for the long term, 8 months is a long time. Especially with everything else going on. So plenty of time for someone to slip up somewhere.
I'd also tell Anya she was welcome to sleep in medical room since it can lock. If I'm being honest she might even be able to convince me to give her the gun under the right circumstances, but I don't really think that's a good thing, that could just as easily become a disaster.
As for the pregnancy that's... much more difficult. There really isn't anything Curly could have realistically done about that by the time he found out. Especially because Anya herself is the nurse. Swansea could potentially have the experience to give her support there but tbh I get the feeling he wasn't particularly involved in that process with his kids either. (...Does Curly have kids?? This is making me realize we don't really know what his family life is like. I get the feeling he's a bachelor though, it probably would have come up if he had a family to worry about. Anyway.) I guess the only thing to do would be to make sure to actually check in on her and give what ever support is possible.
And again, who knows if any of that would have worked out for the better, or if I'd be able to stick to it. No matter what you do it's going to be a bad time.
I guess in the truly ideal situation he'd have spotted the red flags in Jimmy's behaviour and done something about it long before it reached that point, but there's no way he could have known how bad things were going to get that far in advance.
So I get what you mean, I don't envy his position at all lol. Thinking about this did make me realize that I think the way I've been framing my Curly analysis has been a little overly judgemental. I just kind of assumed most people went into the game with the idea that Curly was totally innocent like I did, and then over-corrected to make a point. I still stand by my overall interpretation, but I probably should have been a little more balanced. After all, one of Mouthwashing's strengths is being able to put you in the shoes of someone who does awful things, and showing that they're still just a human with flaws, while not glossing over the ramifications of their actions.

Something something Jason feeling like he doesn't quite fit as "Greek" or "Roman" as a metaphor for bisexuality, particularly the semi-canonical bi-coding in his half of experiences during the Cupid scene and how Favonius and Cupid speak to him in parallel to the scenes confirming Nico is gay.
Something something the camps as metaphors for traditionally acceptable forms of relationships and Nico living as a rogue outside of them, rejecting expectation (ergo in himself representing a metaphor of queer identity and living outside of boxes and defined/usually hetero-allonormative/binary ideas of what love/relationships should look like) versus Jason struggling with the expectation to conform to a label and even discussing with Nico both of them remaining at CHB together.
Something something the inverse of Jason shifting away from the camps after he breaks up with Piper, feeling lost and unable to find a place between the camps as he begins to explore his queer identity properly for the first time versus Nico only remaining at CHB because he has entered a relationship. In this essay I will-

Wait a fucking second. The first thing Akutagawa told Atsushi was “that is the fate you must bear, Jinko: you bring calamity upon those around you simply by living”. And in their last interaction, Akutagawa died so that Atsushi could live. Atsushi living literally brought the death of those around him. Oh my God.

Since Sunny is the only egg out of the new batch with four parents that means they probably would’ve been Maximus’ kid if he survived. They would’ve had matching sunglasses and he’d have another chance as a parent if he had just made if back to to island. If he lived another two days he would’ve had another chance.
