Who is this sassy lost child?
[First] Prev <–-> Next
#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#lan wangji#a-yuan#A-Yuan knows how to to utilise his big wet eyes to get treats. What a little legend.#The crowd comments about LWJ being 'daddy' and WWX being 'the mother' are a little too 'fan-service bait' for me.#So I am personally reimagining it as another layer of 'misinterpretation of a more complex situation' commentary.#I like how the different styles of interacting with children WWX an LWJ exhibit say so much about their own childhoods.#We - human beings in the real world - take two lessons from how we were parented: What we valued and what we wish we had.#LWJ leaning into indulgence is him pushing back against his own childhood of asceticism. It's something he didn't have - so he gives it.#WWX on the other hand has been *so* defined by his drive to indulge. And here he is the restrictor!#It takes a bit more to see what's going on here. The factors are not singular.#but to keep it in theme with LWJ; I'd propose it is partly his way of establishing structure when he did not have it as a child.#Both approches are a way of saying 'I didn't have this and I wish I did.'#With LWJ it's pretty obvious why...but WWX? What is at your core? What is your regret towards a lack of restriction?#Or...What benefit do you think it gives this child to learn the harsh lessons of going without?#Did it make you strong when you were a child? Do you think it is just the nature of the world and we all must learn it?#How we interact with children is such a fascinating topic to delve into our psychology and neuroses.#In a more light hearted turn of topic:#WWX confirmed to be 'person taking the car to the drive through to order one black coffee for himself' on the triangle spectrum.#LWJ is saying 'we have food at home' as he is opening his wallet ready to order for everyone.#(Technically this is comic 213 but yippee! We are in the 200's now! Thank you all so much for reading and cheering me on!)

Substance Abuse and Mental Health: A Complex Relationship | Solh Wellness
Many individuals become irritated or hostile towards drug users when we discuss them. Many people believe that addiction is only the result of a human choice, neglecting the complex interaction of physical and psychological elements that lead to substance use. We can, however, focus on treating the underlying causes of addiction and assisting people on their road to recovery by encouraging understanding and empathy.
Identifying Substance Abuse
Substance misuse is a complicated issue that is influenced by many elements, including hereditary, environmental, and psychological factors. While people have the power to make decisions, the path to addiction is rarely simple or solely a matter of free will. It's critical to understand that addiction comprises complicated physical and psychological processes that might impair a person's capacity to control their actions.
Substance Abuse Caused by Psychological Factors
Trauma and Stress: Many people use drugs to cope with traumatic circumstances or overwhelming stress. Untreated trauma or continuous stress can promote substance abuse as people seek solace or an escape from their mental anguish.
Co-occurring Mental Health Issues: Substance abuse and mental health issues usually coexist. Depression, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD can all increase the probability of substance misuse because people may try to self-medicate or relieve distressing symptoms.
Low Self-Esteem and Self-Worth: Low self-esteem and self-worth can lead to substance abuse. Drugs can momentarily enhance confidence or provide the appearance of escape from negative self-perceptions, eventually leading to a vicious cycle of dependency.
Peer Pressure and Social Influences: The social environment influences substance misuse. The influence of drug-addicted friends or family members, as well as peer pressure and the desire for approval, can all have a significant impact on a person's decision to participate in substance misuse.
Addiction in Young People
Youth are more prone to the negative repercussions of substance misuse. Drug misuse during this important developmental stage has been shown to slow brain development, impair cognitive performance, and impede scholastic achievement. Substance misuse can also result in social isolation, broken relationships, and increased risk-taking behaviours.
Empathy and Treatment Promotion
It is critical to build empathy and understanding for persons battling with substance misuse rather than hatred or condemnation. Recognising the underlying psychological reasons can help us take a more empathetic stance. By focusing on complete substance abuse therapy that covers physical, psychological, and social components, we can offer clients with the assistance and tools they require to recover.
Conclusion
Substance misuse is a complicated problem that extends beyond individual choices and is influenced by a variety of psychological factors. To have a good impact and assist people in overcoming addiction, we must shift our focus to empathy and understanding. By fostering a sympathetic and supportive environment, we can encourage those who are battling with substance misuse to seek assistance and address the underlying causes of their addiction.
We have created a specific support group at Solh where people can discuss their experiences in a secure environment. Furthermore, our expert rehabilitation counsellors are on hand to offer professional guidance and aid throughout the healing process. We can make a difference in the lives of those afflicted by substance misuse by working together to create a society that values recovery, well-being, and support.

gee i wonder if the issue could be at all related to the fact that the current treatment plan for his chronic pain consists solely of FUCKING IBUPROFEN

It's so funny to me when I see people call Jason overly impulsive and incapable to hold back his anger issues because not only is that very untrue, but the fact that he isn't is a medical miracle. Homeboy had two severe traumatic brain injuries from direct hits to the frontal lobe in a period of his life (teenagehood and early adulthood) where the executive functions (developed in the frontal lobe) are not done developing, the classic symptomatology observed almost always in children/teenagers (and so many adults) in that case is dysexecutive syndrome which is characterized by an intolerance to frustration and impulsivity, and it happened to him twice!!! (At least, idk where the Joker hit his head so it's maybe even more) Like do you understand??! Yeah lucky him the Pit healed the first one and then it happened again!!!
I don't necessarily like RHATO #25, but it's incredibly funny to me that not only is the characterization of Jason as impulsive extremely wrong, but it is so in spite of canon events. Like if post RHATO #25 Jason suddenly became extremely impulsive and struggling majorly to control his anger, it would make sense! It would be realistic! The irony of it is wild.
#i mean dc probably wouldn't be able to get away with Batman giving Jason permanent disabilities even in scenes where it would be realistic#but it's still funny#the more i read Jason the more i think that guy has to have a meta factor#or some kind of regeneration from the ✨purple glittery reality mist✨#dc#jason todd#red hood#dc comics#jason todd meta#rhato 25#also give Jason quadranopsy you cowards#jason todd psychology analysis meta

jaime being insane in terms of skill as a swordsman is so key to his status as the #1 resident of idgafghanistan bc that is part of what enables his post-aerys experience faux nihilistic limbo state bc he effectively believes that he can solve any problem (“knots and tangles”) that he even allows to matter atp by cutting it apart with a longsword. the uncomplicated physical keeps protecting him from the complicated mental (kind of like how he frames the dissociative quality of the battle fever to tyrion: “you stop feeling, you stop thinking, you stop being you”). oh the kid wakes up and talks? ok well ill just kill ned and then robert and then. he is so far gone that he does the same with brienne when she embodies two major obstacles: the surface level problem of being his captor who judges, misunderstands, and dehumanizes him, and the deeper problem of being someone who cares and retains her values and humanity and continuously rejects and contradicts jaime’s cynical worldview that he uses to justify himself. her very existence is a condemnation of jaime on every level. this is also why her actually ending up dominating him and him being unsuccessful in cutting her down in that fight works so well. she is a knot he cannot cut through.
#i love to view the ‘yield’ in terms of the cynicism v idealism push and pull that they have going on#‘shes stronger than i am’ ye in more ways than one#this is also y him being that good is just a very important factor when it comes to characterization#like idc about powerscaling it is big part of his psychology too#valyrianscrolls#jaime lannister
