Things Biden and the Democrats did, this week #25
June 28-July 5 2024
The Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Is putting forward the first ever federal safety regulation to protect worker's from excessive heat in the workplace. As climate change has caused extreme heat events to become more common work place deaths have risen from an average of 32 heat related deaths between 1992 and 2019 to 43 in 2022. The rules if finalized would require employers to provide drinking water and cool break areas at 80 degrees and at 90 degrees have mandatory 15-minute breaks every two hours and be monitored for signs of heat illness. This would effect an estimated 36 million workers.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced $1 Billion for 656 projects across the country aimed at helping local communities combat climate change fueled disasters like flooding and extreme heat. Some of the projects include $50 Million to Philadelphia for a stormwater pump station and combating flooding, and a grant to build Shaded bus shelters in Washington, D.C.
The Department of Transportation announced thanks to efforts by the Biden Administration flight cancellations at the lowest they've been in a decade. At just 1.4% for the year so far. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg credited the Department's new rules requiring automatic refunds for any cancellations or undue delays as driving the good numbers as well as the investment of $25 billion in airport infrastructure that was in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
The Department of Transportation announced $600 million in the 3rd round of funding to reconnect communities. Many communities have been divided by highways and other Infrastructure projects over the years. Most often effecting racial minority and poor areas. The Biden Administration is dedicated to addressing these injustices and helping reconnect communities split for decades. This funding round will see Atlantaâs Southside Communities reconnected as well as a redesign for Birminghamâs Black Main Street, reconnecting a community split by Interstate 65 in the 1960s.Â
The Biden Administration approved its 9th offshore wind power project. About 9 miles off the coast of New Jersey the planned wind farm will generated 2,800 megawatts of electricity, enough to power almost a million homes with totally clear power. This will bring the total amount of clean wind power generated by projects approved by the Biden Administration to 13 gigawatts. The Administration's climate goal is to generate 30 gigawatts from wind.
The Biden Administration announced funding for 12 new Regional Technology and Innovation Hubs. The $504 million dollars will go to supporting tech hubs in, Colorado, Montana, Indiana, Illinois, Nevada, New York, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin. These tech hubs together with 31 already announced and funded will support high tech manufacturing jobs, as well as training for 21st century jobs for millions of American workers.
HHS announced over $200 million to support improved care for older Americans, particularly those with Alzheimerâs and related dementias. The money is focused on training primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, and other health care clinicians in best practices in elder and dementia care, as well as seeking to  integrate geriatric training into primary care. It also will support ways that families and other non-medical care givers can be educated to give support to aging people.
HHS announced $176 million to help support the development of a mRNA-based pandemic influenza vaccine. As part of the government's efforts to be ready before the next major pandemic it funds and supports new vaccine's to try to predict the next major pandemic. Moderna is working on an mRNA vaccine, much like the Covid-19, vaccine focused on the H5 and H7 avian influenza viruses, which experts fear could spread to humans and cause a Covid like event.

Heat Wave ~ E.M.
Neighbor!Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
Summary: A heat wave coursing through Hawkins sends Eddie seeking out any form of relief. Even the cheap, little inflatable pool in your backyard will do, but he'll have to do something for you first. WC: 2.7k Warnings: MDNI 18+ SMUT. Unprotected p in v, oral (f receiving), singular use of the phrase 'good boy', no use of Y/N, outdoor semi-public sex. Inspired from laying in the pool during the heat wave that just hit my area, wanted to get this out before summer's over!
Follow my new blog for future fics @cherryxhaze
In the dead of summer in Hawkins, Indiana, itâs another day in a seemingly endless heatwave cooking the midwest. In the Forest Hills Trailer Park, poor insulation does little to help keep the heat out of the metal sided homes, few in the neighborhood able to afford A/C costs, window units struggling to combat the high temperatures. Rather than sweltering in his room, Eddie finds relief walking under the trees in the park, leaves providing shade from the relentless sun.
Heâs beginning to think itâs the only relief heâll get from the rising temperatures this summer. Until he approaches a trailer, glimpsing through the passing trees into the backyard, yellow plastic catches his eye⌠and crystal clear water.
A pool.Â
A cheap, inflatable one only a couple feet wide, but a pool nonetheless. Filled with cool water. He can practically feel it engulfing his warm, sweaty body.Â
Next to it on a plastic lounge chair lays you, basking in the sun. Back home from college, he assumes.
âWell, well, well. Back to visit us peasants?â his voice booms, startling you out of your trance. He leans against your trailer, arms crossed with a grin plastered on his face.
âJesus Christ, Munson. Can you be any less subtle?â
âOh, Im sorry. Would you rather I have knocked?â
You roll your eyes, readjusting in the chair as you eye the metalhead.
âWhat do you want?â
âOh, you know. Just perusing the neighborhood, decided to stop by and say hi to an old friend.â He meanders closer to your position, hiding an ulterior motive clear as day. An arched brow peeks over your sunglasses.
âUh huh⌠friendâŚsureâ
âHey, you never spewed insults at me in the halls at school, I consider that a friend!â
You scoff out an amused chuckle as he throws a cheeky grin your way.
âOkay, sure. So, friend, what exactly is it that you wanted?â
âWell, I couldnât help but notice youâre keeping this sweet slice of heaven back here, all to yourself.â
âYeah, I bought it all by myself.â You state matter-of-factly.
âHmm. I guess maybe I just thought, being the generous person you are, youâd be willing to share with a friend. I mean, considering the conditions.â He gestures around him with open arms, putting on all the charm he can muster in those dimples.
Despite his stance on the existence of your friendship, youâd never been more than neighbors and classmates. Your circles at Hawkins High never ran or meshed together, your friends falling into the norm of calling him a âfreakâ. A nickname, insult rather, that you never partook in berating him with. An insult that remained when he failed his senior year, meant to graduate with your class. Youâve heard from friends in passing that he failed this year too. You never thought less of him for it though, unlike everyone else in town.
To be honest, youâve always had a liking for him despite your minimal interactions. Eyes lingering over him when youâd see him in class or the halls, fighting a smirk from his theatrics at lunch. Youâd become an outcast like him if your friends knew, but youâd been hiding a crush on Eddie Munson for years. As you look over him now, it becomes strikingly clear that your crush hasnât faded in the year away at college.
âYou think flattery will work on me, hmm?â you remark with a grin.
âWell I only speak the truth, cross my heart.â His actions follow his words, hand over heart.
âHmmâ Your propped up leg fidgets side to side as you consider him.
âOkay, Iâll let you take a dip. But only if thereâs something in it for me.â You decide with a confident smile, reveling in the way it catches him off guard before his theatrics kick back in.
âWhy, of course. Itâs only fair. What would you have me do?â
You keep him a little on edge, taking your time in deciding as you look amongst the yard until a perfect idea pops into your mind at the bottle next to you.
âWell, it is time for me to reapply. Mind giving me a hand?â You throw your own charm his way, a bottle of sunscreen extended out to him.
He only falters for a split second before nodding like a bobble head.
âUh y-yeah, sure. Of course.â He answers almost too eagerly. âSkin care is important.âÂ
He worries the forced chuckle gives him away.
When you turn to lay on your stomach, heâs grateful you canât see the way his entire expression fumbles.
To be fair, heâs always had the hots for you. Given your differing social groupings, he never thought heâd stand a chance. Now, he wonders if his mind is playing tricks on him with your demand. Eying the way your bottoms have bunched up between your cheeks, full figure on display for him, barely covered by the cloth.
A deep sigh rises from your chest at the sensation of his calloused hands spreading the cool lotion along your warm skin. Working from your shoulders and down your arms, you feel the anticipation rising as his hands move down your back.Â
Lower and lower until.. his hands meet your calves. His tongue peeks from between his lips, watching as his hands move higher, from your calves to your thighs. An irresistible tug pulling his eyes and hands to move to your ass.Â
âDo you uh- want me to..?â he questions, eyeing your cheeks only half covered by your bottoms.
âIf you wouldnât mind⌠not trying to deal with sunburn on my ass.â You answer sweetly, ending with a lighthearted laugh.
The sensation shoots right between your legs, only inches away from where his calloused fingers knead the plush flesh of your ass. You have to bite your lip to muffle the moan threatening to rise up your throat.
Eddie almost swears he feels the slightest push of your ass against his hands. Heâs mesmerized by it, unable to stop himself from visualizing whatâs underneath the slither of cloth. He never thought heâd ever be this close to you, let alone touching you like this. He wants to lose himself in it, in you but stops himself before his lingering touch becomes suspicious.
âA-alright, youâre all good.â
You flip over onto your back with a smile.
âThanks, Eddie. You wouldnât mind doing this side too, right?â
His eyebrows shoot up with a bob of his adamâs apple, gulping at the proposition before forcing a chuckle.
âJust trying to get a free massage out of me, arenât ya?â
âWell you know, college is very stressful and I did say youâd have to make it worth my whileâ
He licks his lips before sinking his teeth into them, looking down at the sunscreen in his hands.
âYeah, alrightâ he agrees with a smirk.
His movements mimic his work on your backside. Shoulders, down your arms, slowing as they glide across your chest, forcing himself not to linger before moving down to your stomach. Working up your calves, to your thighs. Admiring the way his fingers dig into the doughy flesh, your covered pussy right in his face.
Youâre enjoying yourself far too much, watching how flustered youâre making him through the shade of your sunglasses. As his fingers glide up your legs, you spread them open ever so slowly. Biting your lip as his hands caress up to the inside of your thighs, eyeing the growing bulge in his shorts.
âEddieâŚâ
Wide eyes shoot up from your core to meet your eyes, now uncovered with your sunglasses moved atop your hair.
âDo you want a taste?â
He watches as your hand slides down your stomach, inching toward your pussy before they flash back up to meet yours.
âItâs a question, not an order.â You giggle at his silence, giving him an out.
âYouâre serious?â He asks in disbelief, mouth agape.Â
You nod softly, biting your bottom lip as your fingers ghost over your clit.
âWanted you for a long timeâ You mutter, breathing becoming heavier at the prospect of finally getting what youâve wanted for so long.
âShitâŚâ His gaze falls back down to where your hand is, rubbing your pussy through your bathing suit. âYou donât have to ask me twice, sweetheart.â
His hand replaces yours, gently sliding your bottoms to the side and groaning at the sight of your pussy. You gasp softly as his tongue dives between your folds, licking a long stripe from your already wet hole and up to your clit. Hands sliding up your body, pulling both sides of your top to the side to free your breasts. Rough hands engulfing them, massaging them between his fingers as he shoves his face in your pussy like a starving man. Tongue exploring every crevice, lapping up your juices as his nose nudges against your clit.
âOh fuckâ You moan, head falling back as your fingers tug at his curls.
His fingers pinch and roll your nipple between them as his tongue circles your clit, bringing his other hand down to tease your entrance with his fingers. Slowly sliding two ringed digits in, tongue flicking against your clit before sucking it into his mouth, your eyes rolling back at the overwhelming pleasure, moans freely falling from your lips.Â
You force your eyes open to watch. The sight of Eddie Munson between your legs, mouth worshiping your pussy, tongue working you in a way no guy ever has before, itâs sending you closer to the edge faster than you ever have before.Â
You bite your lip at the sight, fingers running through his hair. The metal of his rings digging into the flesh of your ass with each thrust of his fingers into you.
âMmm, good boy.â
A deep, rumbling moan rises from his chest, sending vibrations through your clit sucked between his lips as the pads of his finger rub against your g-spot.
âFuck, Eddie. Youâre gonna make me cum!â
Your admission only eggs him on more, sucking onto your clit harder, fingers moving faster in and out of your soaking walls that clench around them. His eyes flutter open to meet yours and thatâs all it takes, every muscle in your body tightening, thighs trembling around his head as you grip it.Â
Coming down from your orgasm, he replaces his soaked fingers with his tongue. Licking up every bit of your juice he can.
âTaste sâgood, babyâ he mumbles, face still buried in your pussy.
You whine at the praise and sensation, grabbing onto his hand and bringing his fingers to your mouth, sucking your cum off them. He pulls his attention back to you with a guttural moan, the action making his cock throb even harder in his shorts. Your other hand reaches out to rub him through the fabric, never breaking eye contact.
âNeed to feel you inside meâ you beg, rubbing the pads of his fingers along your bottom lip.
âChristâŚâ
His other hand eagerly reaches for the waistband of his shorts, pulling them down under his balls, throbbing cock springing free. Yanking his shirt off to relieve him from the heat of the sun and your sweating bodies.
He lines his cock up with your entrance, slowly sliding himself into your warm, wet walls until heâs fully sheathed inside you with a moan. His mouth latches onto one of your breasts, sucking and nibbling your nipple as he begins slowly thrusting into you.
âFuck, yes!â you gasp out in pleasure, one hand in his hair as the other grips onto the lounge chair beneath you.
His mouth moves from your breast to your mouth in a hot, wet kiss as he shoves his cock as deep as he can inside you.
âFeel so good. Always wanted to fuck you, sweetheart. Feel this tight pussy wrapped around me.â he mutters against your lips. Sweat makes his bangs stick to his forehead, lips moving to latch onto your neck.
More moans escape your lips from the power his words, mouth, cock, the power he has over you, giving you more pleasure than youâve ever felt by any other guy in Hawkins or college.
One of his arms hooks under your knee, giving him deeper access as his hips collide with yours, your hands attempting to grip onto his sweaty back. The sensation, his cock stretching you out with every thrust is overwhelming, consuming every bit of your attention, the fact of being in your backyard long forgotten.
âEddie!âÂ
Your whines of pleasure are met with a stifled chuckle.
âBetter quiet down, sweetheart. Donât want the whole neighborhood to hear you, do you?â his husky voice and breath fan over your ear, sending chills down your spine amid the relentless heat surrounding you.Â
His reminder, the reality that anyone passing along the same path he did, looking through just the right break in the trees at just the right time, would see Eddie âthe freakâ Munson balls deep in your pussy on the lounge chair in your backyard.
It only turns you on more, making your walls clench around him, delighting in the broken moans it pulls from him against your ear before he chuckles again.
âMmm youâd like that, wouldnât you? Dirty girlâ
His thrusts pick up in pace, your sweat aiding to the wet sounds of his skin slapping against yours.
âYou were so cocky earlier, whatâs wrong? Cat got your tongue?â He teases, out of breath. Sporting a smirk as his face moves into your vision, hovering above you.
You groan in a mix of pleasure and annoyance.
âJust- ohâŚshut up and fuck meâ
His tongue darts out to wet his bottom lip as he moves your legs to rest on his shoulders, allowing his cock to go even deeper inside you. His hands keep a harsh grip on your hips as he plows into you mercilessly. The new position and rough thrusts making the wet, slapping sounds of his skin on yours, his balls slapping your ass grow even louder along with your moans.
âOh god oh god, yes!â your desperate whimpers fumble from your lips, a white knuckle grip on the plastic holding your bodies up. Youâre sure itâll buckle beneath you at any moment from the power of his thrusts.
âMmm. What if your mother came home right now, fuck, to find her precious daughter getting fucked by the town freak, huh?âÂ
Even in his pleasure, the smug teasing still breaks through. Taking even more pleasure in watching you unravel beneath him, because of him, a girl once thought to be completely unattainable, now cockdrunk for him.
âMmm donât care, feel too fucking goodâ you answer breathlessly, feeling yourself quickly barreling toward your climax again.
He canât decide where to look, watching your face twist in pleasure or watch his cock disappear in and out between your pussy lips. Despite his teasing, he can feel he doesnât have much longer, and if the way your walls are pulsing around his cock is any sign, he knows you donât either.
âGonna cum again for me, baby? Give it to me, wanna feel you soak my cock, pretty girlâ
He keeps up his relentless pace as much as he can and you feel like his cock is about to split you in two, making your toes curl in their position next to his head. You canât stop it even if you tried, waves of pleasure crashing through your whole body as you meet your end.
âFuck, Eddie!â you squeal in overwhelming pleasure, hands moving to grip onto his arms. Your head thrown back, mouth falling open, back arching off the chair as everything in you clenches.
The tight grip you have on his cock and the scream of his name as you cum is all it takes to drive him into his own climax, removing his cock from the warm confines of your pussy to cum all over your bare stomach with a deep moan of your name.
Your grips loosen, his head falling to rest on your chest as your legs fall to his sides. Heavy breaths and chests heaving as you recoup from your highs.
âShit. If this is what I have to do to use your pool⌠Iâll be here all summer.â

Why are you in my head?
Sneak Peek: Eddie and you are soulmates. The legend of soulmates is that you start to hear one anotherâs thoughts around age 16 â not all the time, but when youâre feeling a strong emotion. It simply flows out of you and into the other, the legend also states that the closer you are, the more you can hear them. **The events of season 4 did NOT happen** I did also use some of the dialogue
Bold are Eddieâs thoughts; Italics are readerâs thoughts. (mind you, they are essentially hearing both sets of thoughts)
Eddie Munson x Fem Sunshine! Reader (Soulmate AU)
Fluff - Part 2 Part 3 Part 4** Part 5
Word count: 1364
REQUESTS ARE OPEN - not edited - please be kind. Feedback is welcome if it's constructive!
Warnings: My blog is 18+, minors DNI, explicit language, let me know if I missed any!
That being said I do not own the characters portrayed in this story.
You had known all about soulmates, your mom had told you bedtime stories about soulmates and how she and your dad met throughout your entire childhood. They had been hearing one anotherâs thoughts for quite a while before your dad saved your mom from being run over by a biker as she stepped off the curb. Sheâd tell you how when their eyes met she could hear him thinking about how beautiful her eyes were and he heard her thinking about how handsome he was. You have hoped and dreamed of meeting your soulmate since you were four years old.
You had a soulmate, that much you knew. You had been hearing his thoughts for the last few years, they were few and far between which frustrated you. Your mom had explained it just meant he wasnât close by, which sucked. You were hoping that the distance would decrease, given your familyâs plans to move.
Hawkins, Indiana wasnât exactly a town that people were flocking toâŚbut here you were. Your mom had been offered a job at their hospital there as the supervising nurse and your parents had decided it was too good an offer to pass up. Your dad had contacted the local police department to see if they had any openings, to which they asked for a letter of recommendation and pretty much offered him the job.
Things were working out well for your parents. You hadnât really been sure about the move. Your soulmateâs thoughts had been pretty quiet the last few days but, a part of you knew it was because your anxiety of this move was clearly drowning out his thoughts.
The car finally came to a stop, and you glance up for the first time since youâd gotten in the car that morning, too focused on the music playing from your Walkman and rereading The Hobbit, again. You looked up to see a modest home in a cookie cutter neighborhood, you were grateful for your parents and their ability to provide you with the things you need, but some days you wished your family wasnât soâŚaverage.
âSweetie, why donât you head in and pick your room?â Your mom suggested.
âReally? I get to choose?â You asked.
âYou have your pick, other than the master bedroom. You and I will organize the remaining rooms.â Your mom explained.
Damnit, if I could just get the chords right.
You quickly jogged up to the door, letting yourself in. You made your way upstairs first, checking out the two small bedrooms up there that were situated opposite the master bedroom, separated by a full bathroom. While both rooms were nice, they didnât give you nearly enough room to âexpress your creative freedomâ as your mom had encouraged. On the main level there was a kitchen, dining room, sitting room, powder room, and living room. There had been a door leading under the stairs, you were pleased to see it led down into a fully finished basement that had a full bathroom.
âMOMMMMM! I chose my room!â You called as you ran up the stairs.
There we go.
*Eddieâs POV*
Hell yeah! This is fucking perfect!
The thoughts had rung out like an alarm in his head. Her thoughts had never been this loud and clear. What had changed?
She better let me make the basement my room!
Had she finally moved? He had been hearing all her nervous thoughts about packing up and moving across the country. She must be closer now if her thoughts were coming in like this now.
YES! YES! YES! NowâŚhow to decorate?
He smiled to himself. She seems sweet based off what he knows. He had asked Wayne about soulmates when he was growing up. Heâd asked questions like âwhy canât I just think of my address, so she could find me?â and Wayne had explained that it didnât work like that. Thoughts were passed back and forth at moments it was needed â in times of excitement, or when we needed comfort, or to vent. There was some sort of neurological algorithm as to what thoughts were sent when.
*End Eddieâs POV*
You had started unpacking pretty much the second your parents agreed to let you make the basement your room. Your dad had even agreed to take you to the hardware store to pick up paint this weekend.
âYouâll start at the high school on Monday. The principal confirmed that he received your transcripts and all your credit hours transferred, so youâre right on track.â Your dad explained.
âOh, awesome! Did he happen to send my schedule or anything so I could familiarize myself with it beforehand?â You asked.
Oh fuckâŚfuck, fuck, fuck! I am so late. OâDonnell is gonna kill me!
Your hand flew to your head, the volume of his thoughts brought forth a pounding in your head. They had never been this loud before.
âBug? You okay?â Your dad looked concerned.
âYeah, Iâm okay! Just a headache. Too many thoughts in there I guess.â You chuckled lowly.
âHoney, was it his thought?â Your mom questioned.
You hadnât told your parents much about your soulmate, only that you had been able to hear him and that he was, in fact, a him. They had also been aware that you hadnât been able to hear him lately â that was when your mom explained that your thought can sometimes drown out theirs.
âYeah, it was and uh, I donât know, I guess it was kinda loud.â You shrugged.
âHow loud?â Your mom asked.
âI donât know, loud enough to give me a headache. It was like he was in the room with me.â You looked at your parents, a knowing grin making its way onto each of their faces. âWhat?â
âNothing bug. Letâs go see if your principle sent that schedule over.â Your dad wrapped his arm around your shoulders and pulled you into his side.
Monday morning had come way too soon, though youâd had an incredibly productive weekend. Your room was painted and decorated, youâd finished rereading The Hobbit and had begun rereading Pet Cemetery, youâd also memorized your class schedule.
Your dad dropped you off at school, he also told you he was planning to go and check out a car for you after his shift â that had left you pretty excited.
Finally! My own car!
The day was dragging on pretty slowlyâŚtruthfully you were ready for lunch.
Then Vecna will make a surprise return.
What the hell?
This campaign is going to be epic!
His thoughts had come and gone like this since youâd arrived in Hawkins. Just back and forth with random tidbits that left you more confused than anything.
The bell ringing had been your saving grace. It was finally time for lunch, and now you were feeling anxious againâŚwhere were you meant to sit?
You looked around and before you could take a step, a voice stopped you dead in your tracks.
Here we fucking go.
âWe're the freaks because we like to play a fantasy game. But as long as you're into band or science ...or parties or a game where you toss balls into laundry baskets...â
God heâs hot.
âIt's forced conforming. That's what's...killing the kids!â
Assholes.
Kids were either laughing at his outburst or calling him horrible names, but you just stood there. Could this really be him? This super-hot guy who just caused an entire scene in the cafeteria.
âMe, I am army-crawling my way toward a D in Ms. O'Donnell's. If I don't blow her final, I'm gonna walk that stage next month, I'm gonna look Principal Higgins dead in the eye, I'm gonna flip him the bird, I'm gonna snatch that diploma. I'm gonna run like hell outta hereâŚThis year is different. This year is my year.â
He took a step back and bumped right into you, but before you could fall to the ground, he grabbed your arm and pulled you up and against his chest.
Holy shit.
Holy shit.
You both let out a quiet chuckle.
All at once, colors were brighter, smells were sweeter, touches were softer. Everything came together in that moment; you couldnât believe it. Here he was.

Jillian Harrington
She knows she's not the best mother, but she tries, she really does.
She was a business woman first, never expecting to be a mother until it mistakenly happened. Though, she'll tell you to this day, bringing her baby boy into this world was the best day of her life. Steven Joseph Harrington, all eight pounds, six ounces and the largest head of hair she's ever seen on a newborn baby boy.
It was a struggle from the get go, juggling a newborn and her portion of the family business. There were many days that she brought young Steven to work with her, plopping him down in a play pen in her office while she tried to get mountains paperwork done.
Richard was never helpful, the most contribution he provided was financial aid and the conception of the young boy.
Their marriage was one of business, vows filled with falsities, only for the greater good of merging two successful businesses in order to create one mega one. And that's what they did. What they were. All they ever were.
It was a loveless marriage from the start, Richard coming into the thing with a line of women hiding in closets or waiting for him at vacation homes. They were business partners that lived in the same home and occasionally shared the same bed. But they were never husband and wife, maybe occasionally lovers, but never in the emotional sense, if anything they used each other to burn off steam.
And well, that's how they got Steve.
She knows she wasn't as present throughout his childhood as they both wished she'd be. Missing birthdays, ball games and the occasional holiday, but my god did she love that boy.
Truthfully, aside from her late grandfather, Steve was the only other human being on the planet that held a piece of her heart.
Once her little boy reached school age and could no longer spend his days in the office 'helping' his mom, a nanny did most of the raising. Tending to Steve's needs, smothering him with love and affection.
But on the weekends Jillian always made a point to be home. Taking a rosy cheeked, freckle-faced Steven out for ice cream and a movie, to the park or driving up to the Indiana Dunes to spend the weekend at the lake. The times they shared together were always happy, filled with laughter and joy. Always the highlight of her week.
As Steve (I don't like Steven mom, it sounds too formal) aged and grew into his later years, they still carved out time for one another. Maybe missing a weekend or two due to conflicting schedules, but on those days when Steve was travelling for school sports or Jillian was out of State on business, they spoke on the phone in the evenings.
She was there to see the light in his eyes at the mention of the eldest Wheeler, to see the blush on his cheeks as he spoke of brown eyes, curly hair and a strong will.
She was there to see that very light drained and dull, cast over with the weight of something that had him up screaming in the middle of the night and jumping at the drop of a pin.
That was when she started dropping clients and changing her schedule to work from home more often, choosing to set up their guest room as a makeshift office.
Whatever her boy had gone through, he'd gone through it alone and that wasn't going to happen again.
Many mornings did she wake to find her teenage boy curled up in bed only a few inches away, at some point in the night startling awake and coming to seek comfort.
When the mall fire, or so they called it, happened, Steve finally let the floodgates open, spilling every unbelievable detail of what he'd gone through. It was heartbreaking to know the boy had suffered so much and kept it bottled up for such a long time. The horrors he'd seen, the loss he'd witnessed.
She wanted nothing more than to haul them away and say so long to Hawkins and its horrors but it just wasn't in the cards and truthfully, she didn't think Steve would be willing to leave.
Richard was an anomaly, a rarity in the Harrington house and never once did they divulge the going ons of Steve's life to the man. They kept him in the dark, much like he did to them. It's not like he was very present in their lives, either away on business or gone off somewhere with a mistress.
Hawkins cracked open on one of the rare occasions Jillian was away on business, out of state, across the country. She'd seen it on the news first and knew immediately that it was connected to the horrors that kept her boy up at night. She'd cancelled her meetings and flew into Indianapolis only to be stopped by military personnel at the Hawkins city limits. An immediate quarantine they'd said, noxious gas or something of the sort. No one was allowed in as much as no one was allowed out.
The only thing on her mind was her son.
She didn't return to her business trip, getting a motel room in the nearest town until she heard word of Hawkins re-engaging with the world.
It'd been a month and when she got back to her hometown, it was quite literally split into quarters, fissures in the ground, deep and daunting, threatening.
Finally it was at the hospital where she found her son, supposedly visiting a friend, a young man she'd yet to meet. Steve was obviously shaken, skin scarred and healing, eyes bloodshot and an expression on his face as if he'd seen death and maybe be had.
She'd taken him home and did her best to nurse him back to health, helping to maintain maintenance on bandages and be there for those times when his sanity inevitably crumbled.
Months had passed and Steve left the house often, going out to "check on the kids," or "help out at the school" or "see Robin," or, just like clock work, every afternoon, "I'm just gonna go check on Eddie."
She'd known about the kids, had met a handful of them, constantly heard of the Henderson boy and his antics. She knew Robin, quite liked the girl and for the longest time figured she was the new Nancy, but after some very emphasised points on the word "Platonic," she knew better. But Eddie, Eddie she knew nothing about, only heard whispering around town, none of which were good.
But it only took a single conversation with her son to know the truth.
To know Eddie was only a troubled boy, with a town out for his head. To know that he was only a boy and aided in saving the very town that hated him. Risked his life for those with closed minds and torches in hand.
To know that her son held something special in his heart for the boy. Something rare. Though she'd never say, she often saw a familiar light in Steve's eyes when speaking about the other young man.
She'd like to meet him some day.
â-
And there's a few times she comes close. Whether she knows it or not.

Pleaseeee I need the live stream audienceâs (and their fbi agent) reaction to Steve pulling the nail bat out to defend Ozzyâs honour. The series is so amazing thank you for giving it to us!
Considering the fact that Eddie got Steve to sit down on the bed, kissed his forehead, and then left Steve, Ozzy, and the live-stream to go âtalkâ to Dan, the unanimous reaction among the chat was, what the actual fuck.
Steve, mindless to the live-stream, flops back on the bed with a loud sigh and doesnât even complain when Ozzy, still wet from what little time he had in his pool, jumps up on the bed next to him. Steve ruffles Ozzyâs wet fur and tells him, âYou deserve nice things, buddy. If an asshole breaks your things, you have every right to break their face. Thatâs justice, right?â
Ozzy puts his paw on Steveâs chest and Steve nods, âYou get me.â
Meanwhile, the chat is blowing up with people being like âadorableâ and âcuteâ and âI wish heâd pet me like thatâ while other people who arenât incurably horny are just like, âare we going to talk about the bat? Why the fuck does that thing exist? Why does it look used? Why is it being wielded by a middle school teacher with fucking ease???â
âHeâs a jock,â Eddie answers. âOf course, he has a bat. All jocks have bats.â
âNOT WITH NAILS IN ITâ The chat explodes.
âHome security?â Eddie tries with a shrug. âIâve been trying to get him to GET RID OF IT for decades now.â
Steve doesnât even lift his head when he says, âI got rid of my axe.â
âYou had your axe taken away from you,â Eddie replies because that was true. After the gates were officially closed, the government confiscated everything that so much as breathed in the direction of the Upside Down. Both Steveâs axe and Eddieâs sweetheart were taken.
The only reason the nail bat survived was because the government didnât know it existed.
A couple days later when half his live-stream chats are still filled with people being like âwhy was he so comfortable holding it?â and âthis is a prop from a music video, right?â and âplease answer or Iâm going to actually die,â Eddie does provide an answer. He says, âTry googling Hawkins, Indiana. I think thatâll answer all of your questions.â
It does not.
It actually asks a lot more questions.
The introduction of the somewhat-alluded-to-before nail bat to the Steddie Conspiracy Forums causes absolute chaos. No one can agree on anything. It validates so many theories and creates dozens more especially when Steve lets it slip in the background of another live-stream that Jonathan actually made the bat and Steve just never gave it back.
Meanwhile, the only benefit to Steveâs particular brand of shitty parents is that he learned how to girlboss gaslight gatekeep from absolute pros. Anytime one of his students asks him about the nail bat, Steve acts like he has no idea what theyâre talking about. He has literally never heard of such a thing, âLike the animal? Their fingernails?â
As for their agent.
Their reaction was heard across all the office cubicles in the basement of the building. Just a loud, disbelieving, âARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?â
#Ozzy: *putting his paw on Steveâs chest to say stop acting this way*#Steve: *interpreting it to mean what he wants it to mean*#I like to think that nail bat is in the Hawkins File but is unconfirmed because the FBI could never find it#It's mentioned briefly during Dustin and Lucas' debriefing in 1984 but the FBI didn't give enough of a shit about Steve to#check under his bed for the bat so Steve just kept it. The same thing happened with Nancy's gun from season 2#But his axe was taken while they were being decontaminated after going into the Upside Down. Steve's still bitter about it#eddie munson tiktok saga#eddie munson#steve harrington

Older! Eddie Munson x hyperfeminine! housewife! Reader : quick headcanons/ideas <3

ââ
ââ
Marrying Edward Munson was most likely the best milestone of your life. The dull and bitter taste of Hawkins, Indiana had become bright and full of color!!
Your Eds has bought you a quaint, small, yet spacious enough home, in which you decorated with beige tones and tropical accents â plants, gold, mirrored walls, and topped it all off with a wooden kitchen. He provided for you as well, spending the usual nine to five workday facing the elements as a local construction worker. At exactly 5:10 each evening, he would come home to greet his babygirl. You were ever so ready!
He comes through the door, sawdust covered boots sprinkling dirt on the fuzzy carpet. You rush up to greet him, and you were met with a âhey babydoll,â and a swift strong arm picking you up to his lap.
With you clinging onto him like a little koala, he undresses his clothes, and then puts on a loose muscle tee with boxers <3!
â howâs my little girl doing today, hmm? Tell me, doll,â a prompt from him was all it took for you to enthusiastically describe your day!! His patronizing smile made your âlittle kittyâ as he called it, gush!!
You tell him about your cooking, your laundry, and how much you missed him, your daddy <3!
âMissed you too. Howâs about your daddy shows you how much he missed his doll?,â his hairy forearms and calloused fingers grip your plush waist so tightly. He pulls you into his lap, and you feel his throbbing bulge press up against your mound. âWet fâme?,â he taunts. You nod, your manicured hands clawing up his wide back and shoulders.
âBabygirl needs her leash and collar, yeah?,â he tuts at you, putting them on. His calloused fingers grab the O ring in the center of your collar, pulling the leash a bit. âThere we go, sweets. Ready for daddy to play with. <3â
You could only drool and nod!
Your pretty tits pressed up against his hairy chest, his so so masculine hands squeezing your soft belly and hips until it HURT, and you rocking yourself on his bulge.
One thing you loved about Eddie, was that he was big. He was around five inches yes, but in width, goodness <3 it hurt to take him every time! He was wider than your hand, and would tut at you everytime your pretty pussy took that wide cock and huge balls of his.
So here you were, doing just that, clinging onto him, whining, as his girthy length stuffed you full. Belt buckle on the floor, your plush thighs against his tatted ones, his ringed hand on your ankle, which had a little âEâ tattoo on it.
Eddie actually gave you the tattoo himself, a few months ago, gently holding your ankle while working on the tattoo. You said it hurt but your Eds kept praising you for being so brave! <3 After he bandaged your new initial tattoo, he gave you your reward for being his âbrave girl,â which was his cock stuffing you full for hours on end. <3
âPussyâs just purring fâme, sweetheart. Look at that. She loves my cock, doesnât she now?,â Eddie cooed at you as he bounced you on his girth. You could only whine and nod as you felt his balls, heavy and full, plapâ and slap against your wet cunt.
He came in you, of course, because you were his. The tattoo, the ring, the leash and collar, the part where he breeds his little wife, all signs that you belonged to him. You loved being his pretty little wife, spending the days at home, waiting for her husband.
It was all worth the wait <3

Sweet Home Indiana Part 1
Hello! And welcome to this fun little fusion that I came up with here. If anyone can find the post about gay legal troubles after gay marriage was legalized (I think was originally about polyamory divorces) let me know so I can link here, too.
Summary: Eddie is a successful tattoo artist in Seattle and is engaged to be married to Chrissy. Only there is one problem. Well, technically three. You see, back before the Supreme Court ruled that gay marriage was a right and not a privilege Eddie had gotten married in a couple of different states to different people. But now that's it's legal, he's a bigamist and he has to get his exes to divorce him. Which is easy enough for two of the three, not so much for the third. You see the third just isn't just any ex, it's the ex. Steve Harrington. So now he has to go down to Hawkins and try to convince the person he thought he was going to spend his life with to divorce him. Something much easier said then done, especially when Eddie finds himself falling back in love.
EDDIE IS GAY IN THIS BUT THERE ARE REASONS OKAY!
****
Eddieâs life was good. Let it be said that it was really good. He knew that. But he had regrets. Didnât everyone?
He regretted how his band broke up. It wasnât his fault, but he hadnât seen the cracks when they had started to show. He hadnât seen how tired Jeff was getting or how fucked Gareth was. He hadnât seen that Brian was only phoning it in every night.
So when it all fell apart after a concert in Seattle, he was left holding the pieces of his band and his broken heart. He had gotten a job as a tattoo apprentice and had worked really hard to get his own chair.
He had friends. Good ones. Jeff had stayed in Seattle, too. Gareth had gone into rehab and had moved to a small village in the south of France. Brian had gotten married and moved back to Indiana where he became a teacher and lived a quiet life. The life he had always wanted.
Then there was Chrissy. He loved her so much. They had met when she came into the tattoo parlor to get a tattoo covered. She wanted to cover the name of her ex-boyfriend with a purple violet. Eddie had smiled at her when she asked.
It was some of his best work, if he was honest.
She was a legal assistant that had just gotten her paralegal degree and was trying to get a work visa.
She had come over to the USA from Barbados. A little island country in the Caribbean.
He didnât know how she could stand living in damp Seattle after being born on sun-soaked shores under glistening palm trees. But Chrissy was adamant that she loved being in Washington where it rained almost all the time.
Eddie was on a mission. One that he had sworn to Chrissy that he would do today.
He walked into the county clerkâs office and applied for a marriage license for him and Chrissy.
âIâm sorry Mr. Munson,â the clerk told him, âbut our records show that you have not one, not two but three marriages in three different states.â
Eddieâs eyes went wide.
âWhat?â He would remember that, surely.
âTo a William Hargrove in Hawaii, a Thomas M. Hagan in New York, and Steven J. Harrington in Massachusetts,â the woman said, holding up her reading glasses in front of her face to read off the list.
âBut those were only legal in the state they were preformed in, right?â he asked, furrowing his brow in confusion.
The woman shook her head. âNot since the Supreme Court ruled that it was legal for gays to get married. Itâs cause a lot of trouble for a lot you people, let me tell you.â
Eddie knocked his knuckle on the counter and licked his lips. âShit.â
She grimaced sympathetically. âIâm sorry, but before you can get a marriage license in the state of Washington, youâll have to provide divorce decrees from all three of your exes.â
Eddie pounded on the counter this time with his open palm. âThanks.â
He walked away and he heard her call out, âNext!â
Shit, shit, shit.
This was going to be hell, he could feel it.
****
Chrissy had fast food waiting for him when he got home from work.
âDid you get the license?â she asked, handing him his food and drink.
Eddie buried his head in his hands. âNo, because stupid gay marriage legalization made all gay marriages legal, no matter what state you preformed them in.â
âOh.â
She sat down hard. âSo your three marriages suddenly count?â
âYeah,â Eddie murmured. âI donât even know where any of them are. Like I assume Steveâs still in Hawkins, because heâd never leave, but the other two? I have no fucking idea.â
She patted him on the shoulder and said, âWeâll find a way. The law firm has investigators on staff for this very reason. It might take a while, but weâll find them.
Eddie nodded. âIâm sorry.â
She wrapped her arms around his neck and sat down on his lap. âIâm not. You didnât know. Otherwise you would have taken care of it when Obergefell v. Hodges went through the Supreme Court.â
Eddie nodded, but he pursed his lips, his hands up around her waist to hold her steady.
âLetâs just eat and Iâll start work on it tomorrow,â she murmured. âOkay?â
âMmk,â he muttered.
****
Three weeks later, Eddie had in hand two of the three annulments. Billy had sent his back with a little note that said, âWith pleasure.â Tommy had merely sent his back without comment.
That was a relief. He was no longer bound to either of those two assholes. He wasnât even sure what possessed him to marry them in the first place.
Well, okay. He did. He was far away from home, lonely and willing to connect with anyone who would fuck him.
He was getting ready to call Chrissy to her the good news when the phone rang under his hand.
Eddie frowned at it for a moment, before he picked it up.
âHello?â
âEddie? Eddie Munson?â the familiar voice sounded through the cell phone.
âThis is he,â he replied, still confused.
âIf you want to divorce me, you asshole,â Steve spat, âthen have the fucking courage to tell me to my face.â
âSteve?â Eddie asked, his confusion still there, but for a different reason now. How did he get his number?
âYeah,â Steve hissed. âRemember me? The man you left for fame and fortune? How is that going, by the way?â
Eddie gritted his teeth. âYou know full well we broke up, I know Dustin still talks to you.â
He could hear Steve snap his fingers. âThatâs right. You broke up. And until you tell me to my face you want to do the same, you take your annulment and shove it up your ass.â
âStevie...â Eddie pleaded.
âDonât âStevieâ me,â Steve growled. âFuck you.â
And the phone went dead then Eddie turned his phone around to see that yes, Steve had disconnected the call.
âFuck.â
****
Eddie called Chrissy with the news. Two yeses and a âfuck youâ.
âAll right, Ed,â she said. âThere is more to this than youâve been telling me, so you are coming over to my apartment with the annulments you got and you are going to spill. Capeesh?â
âYes, maâam.â
âGood,â she huffed and then hung up.
Looked like today was hang up on Eddie day. He sat down at the table both annulments spread out in front of him and buried his head in his hands.
After a few minutes of allowing himself to break down, he picked up the papers and grabbed his keys, wallet, and cell phone.
Time to face the music.
****
Chrissy opened the door with a scowl, but softened when she saw how miserable Eddie looked.
He handed her the annulments and she put them her bag to take to work so that they could be filed with county clerk.
âTell me about Steve Harrington.â
So Eddie did.
He told her about how they had bonded over a bunch of kids. Kids Steve had used to babysit, but once they got into high school came under Eddieâs wing as leader and DM of the D&D club called The Hellfire Club. How they had gotten together and when Massachusetts made it legal, him, Steve, Jeff, and Steveâs best friend Robin all drove out to Boston and Steve and he got married in a little court house.
âMy Uncle Wayne was pissed he wasnât there,â Eddie said. âBut it was spur of the moment thing. We drove all night and got there that afternoon. We put on little suits and let the judge say his words.â
âThat sounds sweet, so what happened?â
He let out a shuddering sigh. âGareth graduated from high school and we got an offer to record an album in New York.â
âWhy didnât he go with you?â she asked gently.
Eddie rubbed his nose. âBecause the kids still had two years left of school. He wanted to be there for them. A couple of them didnât have good home lives and he wanted to make sure they had someone they could count on. We fought about it. Hard.â
âIâm sorry, cher,â she whispered giving his arm a squeeze.
âGod,â Eddie said, his voice cracking. âThe things we said to each other. It was bad, Chris.â
âAnd now he wonât sign the papers?â she asked.
He shook his head. âHe told me the only way heâd sign anything is I came back to Hawkins and handed it to him myself.â
Chrissy nodded. âAll right,â she said, âhereâs what weâre going to do. Iâm going to get a proper divorce degree written up, making sure itâs worded so he knows you wonât be going after any assets he has and then you are taking a week off of work and going down there and facing him. Because holy fucking hell, Ed, he deserves some kind of closure as do you.â
Eddie let out a heartbreaking sigh. âI donât know if I can face him, Chris. God, I put everything else before him and broke his heart. He always wanted this big wedding. A beautiful reception where all our friends and loved ones were there. A beautiful grey morning jacket with a proper boutonniere and saying his vows across from the one he loved. And instead he got an empty court house and broken promises from a screw up like me.â
She wrapped her arms around him and let him sob into her shoulder.
âWhich is why you need to go down there and give him that closure,â she murmured, âso that he can have all that with someone else. Someone who isnât afraid.â
Eddie nodded. âYeah, just let me know when itâs ready and Iâll take one of my vacation weeks to go to Hawkins, Indiana.â
Chrissy winced. âMaybe donât sound like youâre going to your funeral, yeah?â
Eddie scoffed and rolled his eyes. As far as he was concerned he was going to a funeral. Maybe not his own, but the death of the first real relationship he ever had and if somehow he made it out alive, he was never going to be the same again.

Conspiracy against the United States, or conspiracy to defraud the United States, is a federal offense in the United States of America under 18 U.S.C. § 371. The statute originated under a federal law enacted in 1867 that was codified in the Revised Statutes of the United States in 1874, in a subsequent codification of federal penal statutes in 1909, and ultimately in the United States Code in 1948. The crime is that of two or more persons who conspire to commit an offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States.
Statute 18 U.S.C. § 371 provides that:
If two or more persons conspire either to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose, and one or more of such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.
Corruptly obstructing, influencing, or impeding an official proceeding is a felony under U.S. federal law. It was enacted as part of the SarbanesâOxley Act of 2002 in reaction to the Enron scandal, and closed a legal loophole on who could be charged with evidence tampering by defining the new crime very broadly.
This part of the Act later became known as a charge against defendants associated with the 2021 U.S. Capitol attack for attempting to obstruct that year's Electoral College vote count, as well as former President Donald Trump for broader alleged activities to obstruct the election. In June 2024, the Supreme Court ruled in Fischer v. United States that the statute could only be applied when the defendant impaired a physical document or object used in an official proceeding or attempted to do so, a higher bar for conviction than had been used in trials to that point.
Legal basis The crime is codified as 18 U.S.C. § 1512(c)(2). The relevant subsection reads:
(c) Whoever corruptlyâ
(1) alters, destroys, mutilates, or conceals a record, document, or other object, or attempts to do so, with the intent to impair the object's integrity or availability for use in an official proceeding; or (2) otherwise obstructs, influences, or impedes any official proceeding, or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.
The term "official proceeding" is defined in 18 U.S.C. § 1515(a)(1) to include proceedings before federal judges, Congress, federal government agencies, and regulators of insurance businesses.
Conspiracy against rights is a federal offense in the United States of America under 18 U.S.C. § 241:
If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person [âŚ] in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same;âŚ
They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.
Charges of conspiracy against rights concerning federal election offenses cover activities subverting the integrity of federal elections and do not require direct action towards an individual voter. Election conspiracies prosecuted under conspiracy against rights can be classified as either public schemes (where public officials commit a §241 violation under color of law) or private schemes (where conspirators impinge on the ability for voters to vote).
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced on July 18, 2023, that she had charged sixteen individuals with eight felony counts each, including forgery and conspiracy, alleging they had knowingly signed certificates of ascertainment falsely claiming they were "duly elected and qualified electors" for Michigan. One defendant entered into a cooperation agreement with prosecutors in October 2023 in exchange for charges against him being dropped. Nessel's office disclosed during an April 2024 court hearing that Trump, Meadows, Giuliani and Ellis were unindicted co-conspirators.
On August 1, 2023, at the request of Jack Smith and the Justice Department, a federal grand jury indicted Trump on charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy against rights, obstructing an official proceeding and conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding. The indictment accused Trump of orchestrating a criminal conspiracy to subvert the 2020 election, and identified the fake electors scheme as part of the conspiracy.
On August 15, 2023, Trump and eighteen others were indicted in Georgia. The defendants, who included Trump, Giuliani, Eastman, Meadows, Chesebro, Sidney Powell, David Shafer and Shawn Still among others, were charged with a variety of offenses, many of which related to involvement in the fake electors plot. On October 20, Chesebro pleaded guilty to conspiring to file a false document and was sentenced to five years of probation; he also agreed to testify against the other defendants. Three other defendants (including Powell) also pleaded guilty to charges.
On December 6, 2023, a Clark County, Nevada, grand jury indicted six Republican party officials, including the chair of the Nevada Republican Party, on two felony charges each of submitting fraudulent documents to state and local officials.
By December 2023, 24 fake electors had been criminally charged in three states, and Chesebro was "a witness in all of the cases". However, in January 2024, the Attorney General of New Mexico stated that the fake electors couldn't be prosecuted given the laws of that state.
An Arizona grand jury named eleven alleged fake electors in an April 2024 indictment. Among those named were former Arizona Republican Party chair Kelli Ward and Tyler Bowyer, chief operating officer of Turning Point USA. Names of seven others charged were redacted from the indictment, and Trump was listed as "Unindicted Coconspirator 1". The Washington Post reported the redacted individuals were Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis, John Eastman, Christina Bobb, Boris Epshteyn and Mike Roman. The Post reported that names of those indicted who were not in Arizona were redacted until they could be served with their indictments.

Consider: Bucky lets Alpine wander all over their kitchen counters if she pleases. Steve, however, tries to keep her off the counters. Sometimes Bucky walks in on Steve having a dead serious conversation with Alpine (sometimes even in his serious, disappointed Captain America voice), like, c'mon, girl, we talked about this.
OKAY CUZ ALPINE AND STEVE'S FEUD FEEDS MY LITERAL SOUL LIKE ON FUCKING GOD THIS IS EVERYTHING TO ME. now this isn't about kitchens or sandwiches, but you get the gist.
also norman is their dog. here is a picture commissioned from the super talented @hopelessartgeek by my dear friend @buffyscribbless !!! coolest thing ever!!!!
Enjoy!!!
-
âBucky, get your fuckinâ cat, Jesus Christ!â
Steve resists the urge to throw the goddamn thing as Alpine bats his head with her paw for the millionth time since the movie started. Norman was growling up at her, drowning out the sounds of Indiana Jones in the background. Â
âIf you wanna murder her already, Iâm not gonna stop you,â Steve grumbles to Norman, ducking his head as Alpine takes another swing at his ear.
âNo, no one is murdering anyone,â Bucky snaps, padding into the room and plucking Alpine up from her purchase on the back of the couch. âYou coulda just moved her if she was bothering you so much.â
âI tried!â Steve cries, sitting up indignantly. âShe just hissed at me and started doing it again!â
Norman was whining now, turning in circles by Steveâs feet and casting furtive glances towards where Alpine was grooming herself on Buckyâs lap.
âThat fucking gremlin seems to only like you,â Steve says, not bothering to keep the distaste from his tone.
âShe can sense that youâre bothered with her,â Bucky says, staring lovingly down at Alpine, who is now asleep against his stomach.
âI donât think cats work like that,â Steve scrunches his nose. âI just think she hates me.â
Bucky shrugs. âSheâll warm up to ya.â
âHip hip fucking hooray.â
-
âNorman, no! No, Norman, leave her- no- fuck, BUCKY!â
Bucky barrels into the room freezing momentarily to take in the scene of Steve holding Norman back while Alpine shoves soil at them from her perch on one of the windowsills. Â
He stifles a laugh and Steve shoots him a glare. âShut the hell up and get your fucking demon out of the succulents.â
Swallowing his laughter and putting on a solemn face, Bucky crosses to Alpine and sets her on the ground.
âSheâs just restless,â Bucky insists. âI just need to get her a cat tree or something.â
âThen fucking do it and donât let her mess with my plants!â Steve just barely stops himself from stomping his foot.
âOkay, okay.â Bucky raises his hands in mock surrender. âIâll go do that now. Go walk Norman or something.â
Steve huffs, grumbling to himself as he grabs Normanâs leash off its hook. On his way out, he tosses a middle finger in Alpineâs direction.
âSteven Grant!â
âShe deserves it!â
-
Itâs the middle of the goddamn night and Alpine is scratching. Bucky had kept to his word and gotten Alpine a cat tree, but since then, the fucking terror has done nothing but scratch the fucking thing. Steve wouldnât mind if Bucky hadnât insisted that they keep the tree in their bedroom so, âAlpine can sleep near us, câmon, you let Norman sleep in our bed.â
Steve had lost that argument as soon as the Norman card was pulled. You canât really argue with hypocritical logic.
âWill you please stop already!?â Steve hisses into the dark quiet of the room, careful not to wake Bucky or Norman up.
He sees Alpineâs yellow eyes turn in his direction and they hold eye contact for a tense moment before she hops up onto the bed next to Steve.
âOh no you donât,â Steve says through clenched teeth as Alpine begins to knead her paws into his stomach.
Steve groans, letting his head drop back onto the pillow. âYouâve got to be fucking kidding me.â
-
Heâs home alone, fist clenched tightly in his hair as he tries to regain control over his breathing. Normanâs hovering nearby, providing company and comfort, but not coming closer for fear of overwhelming Steve. Â
He hadnât expected the movie heâd been watching to trigger him, but one loud fight and a door slam later, he was 7 years old again, cowering under the kitchen table while his ma and dad screamed at each other.Â
The shaking is getting worse and Steve has half a thought to call Bucky, but heâs in a meeting right now at the Tower and that would be unfair to ask of him. No, he could handle this by himself. Everything was going to be okay.
Another shout sounds from the TV and Steve gasps, reaching for the remote and forcefully shutting it off. He braces his forearms on his knees and leans forward, opening his eyes and attempting to tap back into his surroundings. Norman comes a little closer, nudging his hand with his nose until Steve begins to run a shaking hand down his head.
It does a little to calm his nerves, but his heartbeat is still too erratic and his senses are still foggy and anxious. Across the room, Alpine meows loudly and Steve looks up in time to see her knock her plastic food bowl off the counter. Itâs empty and bounces when it hits the ground and Alpine fixes Steve with a look as if to say, âfeed meâ.
Steve huffs out a surprised laugh, panic forgotten as he stands from the couch, crossing to pick up the bowl before filling it with cat food. He sets it back on the counter and watches in surprise as Alpine nestles her head against his arm before digging into the food.
âYa know, youâre not actually that bad.â Alpine purrs in response and Steve smiles. âI think I might not hate you.â
Alpine cuts herself off from eating and begins to convulse violently, spitting up a hairball a few moments later.
Steve blinks. âWhat the fuck.â
Alpine just looks at him again, meowing.
#steve rogers#stucky#bucky barnes#mikey screams into the void#alpine the cat#is a little shit#but so is steve#and that's why they hate each other#tbh#they're too on the same level#ALSO HI FRIEND!!!#HOPE YOU'RE WELL

The number of commercial-scale Bitcoin mining operations in the U.S. has increased sharply over the last few years; there are now at least 137. Similar medical complaints have been registered near facilities in Arkansas and North Dakota. And the Bitcoin mining industry is urgently trying to push bills through state legislatures, including in Indiana and Missouri, which would exempt Bitcoin mines from local zoning or noise ordinances. In May, Oklahoma governor Kevin Stitt signed a âBitcoin Rightsâ bill to protect miners and prevent any future attempts to ban the industry. Much of the American Bitcoin mining industry can now be found in Texas, home to giant power plants, lax regulation, and crypto-friendly politicians. In October 2021, Governor Greg Abbott hosted the lobbying group Texas Blockchain Council at the governorâs mansion. The group insisted that their industry would help the stateâs overtaxed energy grid; that during energy crises, miners would be one of the few energy customers able to shut off upon request, provided that they were paid in exchange. After meeting with the lobbyists, Abbott tweeted that Texas would soon be the â#1 [state] for blockchain & cryptocurrency.â Technically there is federal mandate to regulate noise, which stems from the 1972 Noise Control Actâbut it was essentially de-funded during the Reagan administration. This leaves noise regulation up to states, cities, and counties. New York City, for instance, has a noise code which officially caps restaurant music and air conditioning at 42 decibels (as measured within a nearby residence). Texasâs 85 decibels, in contrast, is by far the loudest state limit in the nation, says Les Blomberg, the executive director of the nonprofit Noise Pollution Clearinghouse. âIt is a level that protects noise polluters, not the noise polluted,â he says. The residents of Granbury feel theyâve been lied to. In 2023, the siteâs previous operators, US Bitcoin Corp, constructed a wall around the mine almost 2,000 feet long and claimed that they had âsolved the concern.â But Shirley says that the complaints from the community about the sound actually increased when the wall was nearing completion last fall. Since Marathon bought the facility outright in December, its hash rate, or computational power expended, has doubled. Any statewide legislation is sure to hit significant headwinds, because the very idea of regulation runs contrary to many Texansâ political beliefs. âAs constitutional conservatives, they have taken our core values and used that against us,â says Demetra Conrad, a city council member in the nearby town of Glen Rose. In the week before this articleâs publication, two more Granbury residents suffered from acute health crises. The first was Tom Weeks. âThis whole thing is an eye opener for me into profit over people,â Weeks says in a phone call from the ICU. The second person affected was the five-year-old Indigo Rosenkranz. Her mother, Sarah, was terrified and now feels she has no choice but to get a second mortgage to move away from the mine. âA second one would really be a lot,â she says. âGod will provide, though. He always sees us through.â

The warm September air engulfs your face, blowing through your hair as the familiar streets of Hawkins pass by. Sitting in the passenger seat, head leaning against the door frame, and Led Zeppelin playing on a cassette tape as your mom drives the route home. Your new, and old home. It still didnât feel quite real that you were back here, not so soon, and not to stay. Though you werenât born there, Hawkins has always been the place you think of when you hear âhomeâ. It wasnât just the town or the trailer youâd lived in, but the people here that you held the fondest memories of in your heart and formed the deepest bonds youâve ever had with anyone.
You were born in Virginia, and lived there until you were 8 years old. Until Dadâs drinking led him to lose yet another job, leaving your mother at a loss for what to do. She was smart and skilled, but didnât make nearly enough money to support the family at the time. Her sister, Aunt Patty, encouraged your family to move out to where she lived in Hawkins, Indiana. Maybe a big move and change of pace was just what your family needed, she suggested. So, the summer before the start of 4th grade in 1976, your family made the move to the Forest Hills Trailer Park in Hawkins, Indiana. Your uncle helped your dad get a job with him doing construction, while your mother managed to find a decent paying receptionist job.Â
Your home life wasnât great. Your parentâs relationship was tumultuous at best, largely due to your fatherâs drinking problems. You and your mother at times were the best of friends, other times she made you feel like you were never good enough to meet her standards, whether it was with your weight, your grades, or how you dressed. Your school life had never been great either, and that didnât change in Hawkins. You occasionally dealt with bullies that liked to make fat jokes, but it wasnât all bad, you also formed some good, solid friendships too.Â
Meanwhile, the issues at home and with your parentsâ marriage only intensified after the move. After 6 years in Hawkins, your mom had finally had enough of your dadâs bullshit, kicking him out and planning to divorce him. A couple days later, he landed in Jail for a DUI, his 3rd one to be specific. A week after that, 3 months into your 10th grade year in late 1982, a UHAUL was packed up with all your belongings, moving your mom and you back to Virginia to stay with family.Â
While the events of your home and school life were sometimes painful, you were grateful that they led you to seek out music for comfort and coping. Music is the love of your life, and what you always turn to when life and your thoughts feel like itâs just too much to bear. It started with the classics that your family raised you on, from Patsy Cline to Jimi Hendrix to Lynyrd Skynyrd to Johnny Cash. You loved all kinds of music, expanding your taste and catalog to a huge variety throughout the years, even beginning to work odd jobs in your early teens to fund your musical exploration. Music wasnât just a way for you to escape, but became a way to express yourself as well. You learned how to play guitar and bass, and began songwriting as well as a means of emotional release and self-expression. It was the only thing that kept you sane through your life transitions, especially during the years living in Hawkins when problems at home intensified. Music, and him⌠Eddie Munson.
*Oh, all of my love, all of my love
Oh, all of my love to youâŚ*
Your chest tightened as your thoughts inevitably went to him, how could they not? You tried your best to steer your mind away from him during the move back to Hawkins, but it was pointless. Eddie had been your best friend all those years you lived here, some of the hardest years of your life. Honestly, he was the best friend youâve ever had. You liked to think you were the same for him, at least then. Your trailer was right across the street from Eddieâs Uncle Wayneâs trailer, Eddie oftentimes staying with Wayne for weeks or months at a time whenever Al Munson disappeared on a bender, some crime scheme, or his stints in jail. Though, you didnât end up meeting Eddie until a few months after you moved and started 4th grade at Hawkins Elementary.Â
A soft smile creeps across your face as you remember 5th grade Eddie, coming to your rescue when you tripped in the hallway at school, other students standing around and laughing at you. Your 9 year old self was mortified, so embarrassed, until Eddie appeared and told them all where they could shove it, effectively clearing the halls of students and helping you up. From then on, anytime he was at Wayneâs you two would hang out; playing make believe in the woods next to the trailer park, Eddie teaching you how to play DnD, sharing books, music, and watching scary movies. You two bonded over your pain caused by your family and Hawkinsâ residents whoâd branded you as outcasts. You both harbored a lot of pain and anger, sharing a love for metal music as the perfect cathartic release for those emotions. Youâd become so close over the years. You often missed him during the times you didnât get to see him as much, like whenever his Dad returned home and he wasnât at Wayneâs as much, or when he moved on to middle and high school, being a grade ahead of you. Your friendship remained strong during those times regardless.Â
But all of that is in the past. He was your best friend⌠though in your heart he still is, and always will be.
*I get a little bit lonely, just a little, just a little
Just a little bit lonely, just a little bit lonely*
You sigh as the song comes to an end and the sign for Forest Hills Trailer Park came into view. You hold your breath as your mother turns onto your road, Uncle Wayneâs trailer and yours coming into view. You donât know why you feel anxious, Eddie would have graduated in â84, and likely gotten the hell out of Hawkins as soon as he could. Probably out in LA trying to make a name for himself in the music industry. You shook the thoughts from your head, noting the unfamiliar van in Wayneâs driveway as your mother pulled into your own across the street.
She sighs as she puts the car into park next to yours, a black â81 Chevy C10 truck that your father so generously gifted you upon hearing of your return to Hawkins. Itâs the LEAST he could do. Your mother looked at you with a small smile, âHome sweet homeâ. You return her smile before both exiting her station wagon and begin unloading the last of your belongings. Your mom and you had already been back in Hawkins for a few days, staying with your Aunt Patty while coming to the trailer everyday to deep clean before moving back in. You could only assume your Dad had hit a rough patch when you heard he was being evicted from the trailer, missing a few rent payments. Around the same time back in Virginia as you were starting your senior year, your mom got laid off from her job. An old coworker from Hawkins then just so happened to tell her about an open position at her new job in Indianapolis, one that paid more than either of your Momâs old jobs in Hawkins or Virginia. When she heard about your dad, it was decided, circumstances aligning perfectly. Upend your life and move back to Hawkins, again. You canât say you were really upset about it, Hawkins has been home for you since that fateful day in 4th grade.
~
Eddie groaned in frustration. Searching his vest pockets, under his blanket, on any flat surface in his room for his goddamn cigarettes, patience quickly wearing thin. He huffed, looking along the floor of his room, around dirty and clean clothes thrown about until he saw the familiar package peeking out from under his bed. âThere you areeeeâ a cheeky smile adorning his face as he grabbed it from the floor, swiftly removing a cigarette and putting it between his lips. He sat down on a chair he had propped next to the open window in his room as he lit the cigarette, taking a puff before looking out his window. Eyes landing on what appeared to be new neighbors moving into the trailer across the street. Your trailer. Wayne had told him about your dad, a small voice of hope in the back of his head wondered if youâd come back. A voice heâd quickly squashed. Itâs been nearly 3 years since youâd left, and though he knew better than to think the thoughts of you would ever stop popping into his head, that certainly didnât stop him from trying to keep them at bay.
Taking another puff from his cigarette, his attention was captured by the girl he saw across the street. Her back to him as she looks into the trunk of the station wagon in the driveway. He unashamedly lets his eyes take her in. Short, thick, curvy. Black shorts, cropped tank top, hair up in a messy bun. She didnât look like most of the girls in Hawkins or in the magazines⌠and he liked, no, loved that. He couldnât help but notice how much her body resembled yours, or atleast how heâd imagined itâd look now after the few years. He watched as she started to squat to lift a tv console out of the trunk. Being the gentleman his Uncle Wayne raised him to be, he was about to sprint over; introduce himself and help her, knowing how damn heavy those fuckers could be. Just as the thought passed his mind, she lifts it almost effortlessly, his eyes practically bulging from his head. He wasnât expecting that to turn him on so much, but goddamn. He admires the thick arms and legs exerting that strength, unable to not notice the pronounced curve of her ass as she climbed the steps into the trailer.Â
Before he could pop a semi, a burning sensation on his thigh grabs his attention. The cherry from his cigarette falling into his lap as he drooled over his new neighbor like a virgin.
âShit, Jesus H. Christ!â he grimaces, stomping out the cherry just as the telephone begins to ring. Groaning, he rose to his feet, nearly tripping over the clothes on his floor as he stomps down the hall.Â
âYeah, what?â he answered unceremoniously, greeted by Jeffâs voice reminding Eddie to pick him up on his way to band practice at Garethâs.Â
âYeah yeah, Iâm on my wayâ Eddie hung up the phone, dramatically exhaling as he turned back to his room to grab his sweetheart, and his van keys off the counter before leaving the trailer. He glanced across the street as he descended the porch steps, hoping to catch another glimpse of the new neighbor only to be disappointed as the trailer door was closed, with no one outside.Â
~
You sigh, dropping the last box of your belongings on your stripped bed, glancing around at your bare bedroom, deciding on where to start. You rummage through one of your boxes, finding your radio and setting it on your dresser. You press play on the cassette youâd titled Chill Mix #3, smiling as All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix began playing. You decide to start on the biggest feat, unpacking and putting away all your clothes. You let your mind focus on your task and the sound of the music as you move, singing along to each passing song. It was only a matter of time before thoughts and images of him slipped through the barrier, being back in the exact place that held so many memories of him and your friendship. It made your stomach turn and a lump form in your throat. You attempt to cough it away, forcing yourself to think of your other friends here in Hawkins you were excited to see again. The toothy, goofy smile of one of your youngster friends, Dustin Henderson popped into your head, effectively putting a smile on your face.
Youâd known Dustin, Mike, Lucas, and Will for a couple years now. First meeting Will through his mother Joyce, who was good friends with your mom. Itâd started sometime when you were in middle school, going over to Joyceâs to hang out with Jonathan and Will while your momsâ went out to shop and vent about their relationship issues. The other boys showing up a handful of those times turned into Dustinâs mom and Lucasâs parents asking you to babysit in the summer months, which often turned into babysitting all the boys at the same time.
The boys and Erica came to view you as an older sister figure, and them, your sometimes annoying but loveable younger siblings. The same quickly became true for the newer member of the party Max, over your visit to Hawkins this summer. Taking a liking to you as the âcoolâ older girl the boys often spoke of and hung out with. Though you were flattered but dismissive of the âcoolâ label, you learned quickly that like you, Max didnât give a damn about societal ideals of âcoolâ and what or who a young woman should be. They were freshman this year at Hawkins High, one of the few positives you looked forward to starting your senior year here.
As you move on to hanging up your posters and decorations, you think about your other, newer friends, Steve and Robin. To be fair, Robin wasnât exactly a new friend, youâd met her in school when previously living in Hawkins, but were never more than casual, friendly acquaintances. Steve, on the other hand, you never expected to become friends with before this past summer. Youâd visited Hawkins every summer since youâd moved back to Virginia; staying with your Aunt Patty, babysitting, spending time with the kids, your cousins and your Dad.
When you came to visit this summer in May, youâd picked up a job working at Scoops Ahoy with Robin and Steve. Your once casual friendship with Robin blossomed into a close one, both taking pleasure in teasing Steve day after day, watching him fail in his attempts to pick up girls after his break-up with Nancy and declining position in the social hierarchy of Hawkins. You were surprised to witness the change in Steveâs character from the Steve you knew of through middle and early high school, into someone actually likable. When Robin confessed her sexual identity to you two, it marked a milestone in you threeâs friendship, along with the events of the mall fire that happened soon after. You three were nearly inseparable for the remainder of the summer after, until August rolled around and it was time for you to go back to Virginia. Robin was the first friend you called when you learned about your return back to Hawkins. Thrilled to go through her Senior year with you, considering Steve graduated this past May.
A few hours after youâd started and the sky now dark outside, you sigh loudly laying back on your bed as you finally finished putting away and organizing all your belongings. Looking around your room, you feel a wave of comfort hit you. Your room has always been your safe space, and it just feels⌠looks so right here in this room, compared to your room of the past 3 years in Virginia. Even with all the new decorations and posters youâd acquired since you last lived in this room years ago. You feel a sense of hope overtake your thoughts. Maybe this year things will finally work out and go right for you, feel right for you, for the first time in years. You let those thoughts linger as you walk out into the kitchen, deciding to make a sandwich for dinner. Feeling the exhaustion from the last week of moving weigh on your body, you kiss your mother goodnight, and take a relaxing shower before crawling into bed. You let the songs playing on the local âsoft rockâ radio station lull you as exhaustion overtakes you. As you fall asleep, you cling onto that hopeful, comforting feeling before your first day back at Hawkins High tomorrow.
