The Nanny
Based on the following ask: @itzvenus04I was thinking of like sunshine soft girl reader x cloudy and broody serious Aaron meet as he hires her as Jack nanny because Jack liked her the best and of course Jack thinking his nanny is perfect he tries everything he can to get his dad and nanny together which ends up working and Jack is happy because he has another mommy now, not to replace Haley but to love him like a mom because a kid always needs his mom no matter what age

You had been working for Aaron Hotchner for the last six months. You’d gone out of your comfort zone and signed up for one of those nannying sites, the ones where parents would go on and select your profile…almost like online dating. The only thing is, you were looking for a live-in nanny position, see, you’d just graduated college and had been living on campus and now that you had graduated, you needed a place to stay until you found a permanent residence. You could only stay in your friend’s studio apartment for so long.
Aaron hadn’t been too sure about hiring a nanny, especially a live-in one. Jessica had suggested it, seeing as she’d become increasingly busy helping her dad and taking on additional shifts at the hospital. She told him that it would be good to have someone at the house taking care of Jack, running him to and from school and soccer, someone who’d cook and clean and…the more she described it, the more Aaron thought it would be like hiring a 50’s housewife.
He sat on the idea a while; he hardly thought it would be appropriate for a man of his age to hire some young woman to come into his home and play wife while he was out working all day. He figured the best thing he could do would be to look into one of those sites that match nannies to families based on needs.
That is how he had chosen you and honestly, you couldn’t have been more grateful for that fact. Jack had been the best kid and getting to watch him felt more like hanging out with a child of your own…he’d made you feel so welcomed and it filled you with joy.  You’d enjoyed the Hotchner boys, although you didn’t see Aaron all that often, when you did, it always stirred up a fuzzy feeling within you.
--
Aaron was out of town at least once a week each month, those weeks were hard on Jack, but you’d made sure to fill the time with building Legos, coloring, baking, and soccer practice in the yard. You’d made all of Jack’s favorite meals and read him and extra bedtime story on nights Aaron was out of town. Anything it took to make things easier on him.
Truthfully, you liked the weeks when Aaron was out of town, it made your life a little easier, because despite that fuzzy feeling Aaron gave you…he wasn’t always the sweetest person in the world. He was kind of a grump.
In the six months you’d been working for him, you had learned that Aaron was an FBI agent, more specifically the Behavior Analysis Unit. You knew he was in charge of the team he worked with and that they travelled quite frequently. Jack constantly referred to him as a superhero. You learned that he loves the Beatles and the most important thing in his life is his son.
The other thing you had learned in that time was that he detested you. He’d made an effort to learn as little as possible about you, promptly changing the subject any time you’d said anything, even remotely personal. Little did you know, Jack was sure to fill his dad in on all the wonderful things he’s learned about you.
--
Jack had formulated a plan; he was going to get you and his dad together. In the short time you’d been working with them he’d been able to see that his dad was happier and less stressed out. His dad had more time to spend with him when you were around. He also loves you; you are sweet, and you take care of him, and it reminds him of his mom. That had made him sad at first, but very quickly, he came to appreciate it.
So, he decided he would help you by giving you insight into his dad’s favorite things. On the other hand, he’d talk you up to his dad in hopes to break his walls down just enough to let you in.
--
“Alright Jack, your lunch is all packed, can you run and grab your shoes and your backpack?” You asked him.
“Okay! Did you put one of our brownies in there?” He asked, jogging down the hall.
“Of course I did!” You called after him. “Mr. Hotchner, I packed your lunch as well. I was planning on going to the grocery store after I drop Jack off, was there anything in particular you’d like for dinner this week?”
“Whatever works.” He huffed.
“Okay, well I will email over the menu I had in mind then and if there’s anything you don’t like, just let me know.” You offered.
“Will do.” Aaron grabbed his bag and turned away. “Bye buddy, have a great day today.” Aaron pressed a kiss to the top of jacks head before ruffling his hair and heading out to work.
“You ready bud?” You asked.
“Make a pot roast with mashed potatoes.” Jack said.
“What?”
“It’s dad’s favorite.” Jack smiled.
--
You were putting the finishing touches on dinner while Jack was working on his homework at the kitchen island. You had taken his suggestion and went with a pot roast for dinner, figuring it couldn’t make matters worse.
“Alright bud, go wash your hands and put your homework in your folder.” You requested.
“Okay!” Jack made his way down the hall.
You set the table with three perfect place settings, you’d poured jack a glass of chocolate milk, yourself a small glass of wine, and Aaron his usual scotch. You plated up the food, mashed potatoes, pot roast with carrots, and a small salad. It was moments like this, waiting for Aaron to some home that your mind drifted to thoughts of truly sharing this domesticity with him.
You imagine him walking through the doors, placing his briefcase down, coming up behind you, snaking his arms around your waist as he presses a gentle kiss to your shoulder. Complimenting how good the food smells and asking you about your day. In these little daydreams, he was warm and sweet, not his usual grumpy self.
--
The door opens and you immediately hear the huff that escapes him. Exhaustion surely seeping in after a long day of work. This is part of why you loved this job, despite his coldness, you enjoyed taking care of the Hotchner boys. It made you happy knowing that he could come home after work and not worry about anything.
“Daddy!” Jack hollered.
“Hey buddy.” Aaron knelt down and lifted Jack into his arms.
“It smells good in here, what’s for dinner?” Aaron asked.
“Well, Jack informed me that pot roast is one of your favorites, so I changed up the menu a bit and made that for dinner. I uh – I hope that’s okay.”
“Oh, that’s – that’s fine.” Aaron let out an awkward cough.
So, the three of you sat and ate dinner. While you ate, Jack rambled on and on about his day and all the things that happened while he was at school. You were desperately trying to attend to the conversation, but you couldn’t help but be distracted…Aaron’s gaze had been lingering on you for the last ten or so minutes.
“Hey jack, why don’t you put your plate in the sink and go get ready for bed huh? I’ll come up in a bit to read a story with you.” Aaron said, his gaze never leaving yours.
Jack nodded his head and followed the directions his dad gave him. All the while Aaron continued to look at you, surely profiling you. You were becoming uneasy, sitting there under his gaze.
“What is it?” You asked.
“Nothing. Thank you, for dinner, it was delicious.” He complimented.
“Oh, um of course! I’m glad you liked it.” You blushed.
--
It was a rare day that Aaron had off, on these days he likes to let you off the hook. This allows you to shop, go out with friends and get lunch, get your hair and nails done, the whole nine yards. Jack thought that a day out with his dad would be the perfect time to talk about you. They had been talking about how you helped him study for his spelling test this week which led to him getting 100%.
“Hey dad?”
“Yeah buddy?”
“Why do you hate her?”
“What I don’t – I don’t hate her. I just, I ugh…I don’t know bud. I don’t hate her, she’s great.” Aaron stumbled over his words.
“You aren’t very nice to her though. Which is weird because she’s really nice and she makes us both happier, I can tell.” Jack smiled.
“I’m nice to her!” Aaron defended.
“No, you’re not. But you can be! Her birthday is coming up, we should have a party!” Jack suggested.
--
It was your birthday, you had been thankful it was on a Saturday this year, and Aaron was off which meant he’d likely give you the day off and you could spoil yourself a bit. So, after sleeping in a bit later than usual, you made your way to the kitchen only to be met with the Hotchner boys making pancakes.
“Well good morning!” You greeted.
“Happy birthday!” Jack shouted, wrapping his arms around your neck from his position on the counter.
“Thanks bub! Are you making chocolate chip pancakes? You know those are my favorite.” You teased.
“Yeah! It was dad’s idea to make them.” Jack informed.
“Oh – um thanks.” You were caught by surprise.
“Of course. Happy birthday.”
“Thank you.” You shyly smiled.
The three of you sat and enjoyed breakfast together, it had felt different than usual. Aaron had been different today, happy almost.
“So, I figured, since I’m home today, perhaps you could take the day off?” Aaron suggested. “I do have something to do around 6 though so if you could be back by then?”
“Really? That would be awesome, I really need to get my hair and nails done.” You laughed.
--
You had texted a few of your friends and met them at the nail salon, getting your fingers and toes done while filling them in on the latest…more specifically Aaron’s new kind side that he’s been showing.
They had told you it was because he likes you, to which you were quick to shut down. They all knew you had a soft spot for the older man, and they were sure he liked you back, especially when he was pushing you away. One of your friends claimed it was because he probably didn’t want to “corrupt” you.
After getting them to finally relent in their teasing, you had suggested lunch. The girls treated the whole day, nails, lunch, hair and lastly a new dress from your favorite boutique.
“You should wear that one home.”
“Why?”
“For Mr. Hotchner…show off your hot self. Maybe get some for your birthday!”
“Oh my gosh, stop! It’s not like that.” You shook your head.
“Girl maybe it could be…just wear the damn dress!”
And so, you did. You changed into the new dress and had your hair perfectly styled and your nails done. You knew Aaron had somewhere to be at 6, but you figured you could at least catch him off guard prior to then.
--
You parked your car and made your way around to grab your bags, then headed up the two little steps that led into the house. Before fishing your key out of your bag, you paused, inside you could hear Aaron and Jack talking…something about balloons and streamers. You smiled to yourself, quietly letting yourself in.
“Hey guys! What’s all this?”
“You’re early!” Jack said.
You looked around and felt nothing but warmth radiating through you. There were balloons and streamers decorating the living and dining rooms, sat on the table was a birthday cake along with a few gifts. Pizza from your favorite place was sat on the coffee table and the living room had been rearranged so the guestroom mattress was laid out with cozy blankets and pillows, while your favorite movie was queued up on the TV.
“You did all this…for me?” You gasped.
“Yeah! We wanted to show you how much we love you.” Jack said, hugging you.
“You do?” Your gaze met Aaron’s.
“Yeah, we do.” He said.
--
That night the three of you ate pizza and laid on the mattress in the living room, watching movies. Before it got too late the boys made sure you had cake and opened your gifts, Jack had picked out a paint set for you, knowing you enjoyed watercolors. Aaron, well, he’d gotten you a first edition of your favorite novel. You’d been rendered speechless.
The three of you made your way back to the living room and laid down to watch a final film. Jack had been snuggled up to you, quickly falling asleep, and you fell not long after. Aaron smiled at the sight of you two, it had gotten him thinking that having you around may not be so bad after all.

That’s Enough
Based on the following ask: An adorable nonnie sent in a 2 for 1 request, allowing me to choose, and I went with this one: “Maybe the reader is trying to control the situation either at home or at a family dinner but no one is really paying attention and it's a bit '🙁😟' and Hotch notices that he's getting a little shy or something so he yells to get attention to her and at the end he leaves a nice kiss on her forehead 🥹🥹” I kinda combined both…but I made some adjustments. So the reader struggles with anxiety – this is why Aaron notices her struggle and steps in.
Aaron Hotchner x Fem Reader Angst/Fluff Word count: 1050
REQUESTS ARE OPEN - not edited - please be kind. Requests are open and feedback is welcome if it's constructive!
Warnings: My blog is 18+, minors DNI, reader has anxiety and takes medication for it, reader and Aaron have children together, explicit language, let me know if I missed anything.
I do not consent to having my work translated or reposted to any other site. That being said I do not own the characters portrayed in this story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You had always been an anxious person. In childhood it had been about silly things; not climbing trees because you could fall, not riding a bike for the same reason. In your teen years it morphed into something different; not dating because you’d get your heart broken, not getting you license because you’d get into an accident, feeling nauseas before piano recitals and volleyball games, panic studying for all your tests. Anxiety lingered in adulthood too, only now, you were appropriately diagnosed and medicated for it.
You’d been doing well, the anxiety dying down as your children grew older, they no longer needed your constant supervision, they were in middle and high school now. Jack is the oldest, a sophomore in high school, then in 8th grade was Elias and in 6th grade were the wins, Mara and Thalia. Your children were polite and well-behaved, rarely causing trouble within your household and with them all being old enough to handle their responsibilities, you were able to lower your dose of the anxiety meds.
Aaron had been so wonderful throughout everything. He made sure to take note of your coping strategies and what worked best in which situations, and when you decided to go on medication, he helped you research options and monitor your side effects.  He was proud of you for being unafraid to advocate for yourself.
--
This week, you were starting to feel a bit overwhelmed. You’d gotten a promotion at work, thus taking on more responsibilities and working longer hours. Aaron had been away on a case, and so on top of your debilitating workload, you had to manage the kids’ schedules…that also meant facilitating this weekend’s sleepovers.
Mara and Thalia had their friends Audrey and Bri over. Elias had Michael over and Jack had Henry over. JJ had offered to host the boys at hers, but then they were called away, and Will was working nights. You had assured everyone that you were fine, and truthfully, you had been.
You had ordered dinner for everyone; the consensus had been pizza and wings, so once it was delivered you set the table. Opting for paper plates given the chaos that was sure to ensue. Once everything was set on the table, you called the kids for dinner. One rule in your house had been that dinner was eaten together, no matter what, and that didn’t change when friends were over.
--
Dinner shouldn’t have been making you this anxious…it really shouldn’t have, but you were currently trying to tame the children and had been failing miserably. The boys were shouting and talking with food in their mouths – effectively spitting it all over your table. The girls had been gossiping and were now arguing over which cute boy was dating who at school.
You’d been trying desperately to calm them down, asking them to quiet their voices as you were inside. You asked them to finish chewing before speaking but they weren’t listening. Next thing you knew the boys were reaching across the table in attempt to hit one another, causing a two-liter of soda to spill all over the table and onto the floor.
“Guys, please calm down! “Jack, get the paper towels please.” You tried.
“Dude chill! Look what you did!” The boys laughed. “That was you stupid! You made a freaking mess.”
“Guys please, let’s get this cleaned up.” You tried again.
“Ugh boys are idiots at all ages, clearly.” All of the girls rolling their eyes in agreement.
“That’s enough, Jack get the paper towels, Elias go grab the mop please.” You sighed.
The boys made no moves to follow your directions, continuing to argue over whose fault the spill had been and who should have to clean it up.
--
You hadn’t even noticed Aaron come in. He’d set his things down by the door and made his way to the dining room to check out what was going on. Upon turning the corner, he heard you ask the boys to get what they needed to clean up the mess, they surely caused…and when they made no move to do so, Aaron turned his gaze to you.
He quickly noticed the glossiness of your eyes, the mess of your hair, and the way your nails were digging into your palms. You had very clearly been anxious and stressed and the kids acting this way had not been helping you at all. He was feeling incredibly guilty for having gone on this case the week you started your new position. He knew that the best thing he could do for you now was step in.
“Boys please!” You raised your voice, standing from your seat.
“Mrs. Hotchner, relax, it’s just a little soda.” One of the kids replied.
“That’s enough.” Aaron’s voice boomed throughout the tight space. “Jack, Elias, your mom told you to do something, now move it. And whoever told her to relax, you don’t speak to my wife that way. She has been nothing short of wonderful, welcoming you into our home and getting dinner for you, show her some respect.”
The kids all moved at that point, working diligently to clean up not only the soda but also the rest of dinner. Aaron’s hand had made its way to the small of your back, gently guiding you to your shared room. He began running you a hot bath, being sure to add your favorite Epsom salts and bubble bath. He lit a few candles and played some soft music, only leaving once he had you settled in the water.
He was gone all of five minutes before making his return. He entered the bathroom, sitting on the floor just beside the tub.
“They have cleaned up the dining room and kitchen. I told them it was time to calm down for the night, that they needed to go to their rooms and play video games or watch a movie.” Aaron explained. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here baby.”
Aaron pulled your hand to his lips, pressing his lips to your palm where red crescent shapes were starting to fade.
“Thank you Aar. I really thought I’d be okay…but this new position has been challenging and exhausting honestly.”
“I’m here now baby, let me take some of the weight off your shoulders.”

Hello✨ I have a couple of ideas/requests but I don't really know how to accommodate them so I'll leave you both 😅I hope that's okay💛
1-You could write something about the reader scolding the child her has with Hotch And maybe the kid yells at her so Hotch comes out and tells him 'moderate your tone, don't forget you're talking to my wife🤨 especially because he notices that the reader is already feeling a little nervous🥺especially because his baby had never spoken badly to she.
2- Maybe the reader is trying to control the situation either at home or at a family dinner but no one is really paying attention and it's a bit '🙁😟' and Hotch notices that he's getting a little shy or something so he yells to get attention to her and at the end he leaves a nice kiss on her forehead 🥹🥹
Take it only if you feel comfortable if you can't ignore it 🫂
(I know I said they were for Aaron but if you want to write it for someone else that's fine with me they just seem like adorable situations to me 🥹🙂‍↕️)
Love u! xoxoxo
Hey lovely - I kind of combined both, I hope you don't mind!

Mr. Bear
Based on the following ask: @itzvenus04 Aaron X reader where Aaron is a little jealous of when reader cuddles the teddy more, but he rather have her cuddle the teddy when he’s away on a case then someone else or something like that, especially when reader made sure the teddy smelled like him, but one morning he makes the bed and holds the teddy and looks at it, seeing some marks on it and stains and a few holes and a small tear on its side, clearly loved by reader for many years now and it makes him a little sad seeing the teddy like this and how sad his gf will be one day if she has to throw it away, knowing full well she wants to pass down the little teddy bear to her kids no wait their kids someday, hopefully a baby girl someday but then he decides to fix the teddy and clean him up or ask someone to help him maybe someone like Garcia idk and surprise reader with the teddy looking brand new and reader is so happy Aaron can’t be jealous of it because the smile on reader face is so worth it even if she cuddles a another man *wink* he’s literally a teddy bear – this is a short one babe, it’s a super cute idea and I loved writing it!

“You cuddle that thing more than you cuddle me.” Aaron whined teasingly.
“Oh, I do not!” You giggled, turning over and nuzzling into Aaron’s strong chest, your hands still clutching your beloved teddy, Mr. Bear.
“I don’t know babe, I’m thinking I might have to be worried. You have maintained a very long and serious relationship with this guy…and now look, he is quite literally coming between us.” Aaron’s tone was completely unserious as he playfully fought to take Mr. Bear from you.
Aaron shifted so he was hovering over you, his hands tickling your sides relentlessly. You writhed beneath him, desperately trying to get away from his grasp.
“Okay I surrender! I surrender!” You giggled, booping Aaron in the nose with Mr. Bear.
Aaron couldn’t help but notice that your teddy had smelled just like his cologne. The thought made him smile, you spraying your bear with his cologne just so it would smell like him, cuddling it while he was away.
--
“Okay! Coffee?” You asked.
“Coffee would be great.” He smiled “You go, I’ll make the bed.”
You made your way to the kitchen and got a pot of coffee going. You then began heating a pan to make some eggs, throwing some slices of bread in the toaster to go along with it.
Aaron when through the motions of making the bed, pulling the pillows off while he tugged the sheet and duvet up to the top of the mattress. He neatly arranged the pillows, noticing Mr. Bear at the foot of the bed. Aaron hadn’t realized how threadbare your teddy had really become; he was very clearly well loved.
Aaron thought about what he could do to fix him up, knowing that you had hoped to eventually pass the bear down to your future child.
--
“What can I do for you sir?”
“Garcia, what do you know about restoring plush toys?”
“Oh sir, I went down a seven-hour rabbit hole of stuffy restoration videos on TikTok, what do you need?”
“Well, I want to surprise y/n, she’s had this teddy since she was a child and he’s looking a little worse for wear.”
“Leave it to me…do I have your permission to work on it today – provided we don’t have a case?”
“Of course. Thank you Penelope.”
“Any time sir.”
--
Aaron had discretely placed Mr. Bear in his bag for work, gathering the remainder of his things. He made his way to the kitchen to have breakfast with you.
He helped you clean up before you both headed out for work.
“Aar, I have conferences tonight, so I will be home later than usual.” You reminded him.
“That’s right! I’ll get dinner started for us when I get home.”
“You’re the best. I love you baby, drive safe! Let me know if you guys get called away okay?” You requested.
“I love you too honey, I will. Drive safe, see you tonight.”
--
Aaron had made his way straight to Garcia’s office as he arrived at the BAU. He pulled out Mr. Bear and handed him over to Penelope, making her swear that she’d be careful with him.
“You got it sir.”
Penelope had brought in everything she could think of to help her repair your teddy. Penelope began by opening Mr. Bear and removing his stuffing so she could wash him carefully using warm water and a gentle detergent. Letting it dry, using the bathroom hand dryer to speed that process along before checking out where she might need to patch a few things. She used a technique called darning to patch the few small holes that had been created through years of love; once this had been done, Penelope brushed Mr. Bear’s fur to get him looking fluffy again.
Penelope had made two small hearts out of some scrap fabric, filling them both with Mr. Bears old stuffing, she placed one inside him as she stuffed him with new polyfill and kept the other one out as a keepsake for you. Once he was all filled up, she sewed him closed, brushed him once more and tied a neat ribbon around his neck.
The process had taken her the entire workday, though she and her boss didn’t seem to mind.
--
Aaron had been amazed with the work Penelope had done, Mr. Bear looked brand new, and he couldn’t wait to see your reaction to him!
“Hi honey, I’m home!” You called out, entering the apartment.
“Hi baby, in the kitchen.”
The apartment smelled amazing, it had been a long day, and you couldn’t wait to eat whatever it was that Aaron had been cooking. Truthfully you wanted to eat and then curl up into bed and watch a movie.
“Mmm it smells amazing!” You sighed, taking in the table set up. Amongst the place settings sat a giftbag. “Did I forget something? I know it’s not our anniversary.”
“No honey, you didn’t forget anything, I just wanted to do something special for you.” Aaron explained. “Go ahead and open it.”
Aaron sat across from you, having already set the food on the table. You looked at him skeptically, pulling the bag into your lap and carefully pulled out the tissue paper. A shocked gasp escaping you as you revealed its contents.
“Aaron, what is – what did you – I don’t…I don’t know what to say.” Tears sprung to your eyes.
“I know how much he means to you, and I thought it would be nice to have him fixed up a bit, you know, so he’ll last a while longer.” Aaron wore a sheepish smile.
“This is amazing. You are so thoughtful.” You leaned over the table, pressing your lips to his.
You couldn’t believe that Aaron had done this, going as far as spraying him with his cologne so he’d still smell like him. Aaron was the best thing that ever happened to you, and every time he did something like this, it reminded you of that.

I love you so so so so
I looked at my teddy bear and I know you aren’t taking requests but I just wanted to share my thoughts with you
So I looked at my teddy bear , Mr Marshmallow, I sleep with him and cuddle him every night, it’s a comfort thing but it got me thinking, what if we do a Aaron X reader where Aaron is a little jealous of when reader cuddles the teddy more, especially because it’s Mr Marshmallow but he rather have her cuddle the teddy when he’s away on a case then someone else or something like that, especially when reader made sure the teddy smelled like him, but one morning he makes the bed and holds the teddy and looks at it, seeing some marks on it and stains and a few holes and a small tear on its side, clearly loved by reader for many years now and it makes him a little sad seeing the teddy like this and how sad his gf will be one day if she has to throw it away, knowing full well she wants to pass down the little teddy bear to her kids no wait their kids someday, hopefully a baby girl someday but then he decides to fix the teddy and clean him up or ask someone to help him maybe someone like Garcia idk and surprise reader with Mr Marshmallow looking brand new and reader is so happy Aaron can’t be jealous of Mr marshmallow because the smile on reader face is so worth it even if she cuddles a another man *wink* he’s literally a teddy bear but the idea kinda came form one of my books I like “twisted lies” where Christian harper is jealous of a Teddy named Mr Unicorn
PS. YOU NEVER SAW ME ONLINE 😂🤍
Okay babes,

Anyway...rant over, once the other 2 fics are written and scheduled to post (should be by end of the weekend) I will be reopening my inbox...so please please please be patient, I will make a formal post when that happens.

You pick the twins' names. – Hi gorgeous, I love this fic idea, also Reid is 10000000000% a girl dad – you won’t convince me otherwise. I hope you love it

When you found out you were pregnant, Spencer was over the moon. He couldn’t have been more excited to expand your family and become a dad. Here’s the thing about Spencer though, he liked to do research…too much research. You had to tell him to stop giving you statistics about pregnancies and things that could happen to the baby.
Finding out it was twins, that only made things worse. Spencer didn’t let you do anything, always making sure you didn’t do any lifting and that you weren’t on your feet for too long. He needed to ensure that you were okay at all times, not wanting to risk the health of you or your unborn twins.
Four weeks after the discovery of it being twins, you’d gone in to find out the sex of the babies. You’d been hoping for a boy and a girl…but you knew Spencer only wanted girls. He’d told you time and time again that he wasn’t super masculine, and he was scared of having a son…he felt like he’d fail him. Of course you had reassured him, telling him that he’d give your child, regardless of gender, all the love in the world.
He jumped for joy when the doctor confirmed it was fraternal twin girls.
--
Spencer had gone through hundreds of thousands of potential names for your girls, and after vetoing the majority of them, you’d agreed on two names:
Audrina: An English name that means "noble strength".
Iliana: A Spanish name meaning ray of light.
He’d wanted their names to hold meaning, he wanted them to know that their names, their souls, their existence brought the two of you strength and light. And when Audrina and Iliana were born, the names fit perfectly. You’d been worried that you’d see them and it wouldn’t feel right, but in that moment, nothing had ever felt more right.
--
He’d been the most attentive father, explaining to you that he wasn’t spoiling your girls, he was simply setting the bar as high as they deserved it to be. In the four years of fatherhood, Spencer had made sure to prioritize his girls (including you of course). You’d take the girls on mother-daughter dates, going to the zoo, the children’s museum, the park, lunch, the list goes on. Spencer had also adopted this tradition; he’d wanted to go and spend time with them 1:1 too.
This year, he’d decided to start a new tradition. The day before Valentine’s Day, he was going to take the girls out for a date. You were going to get the girls dressed and done up and he’d pick them up and take them to a “fancy” dinner. February 14th was reserved for you.
--
Spencer let you know that the girls would need to be in semi-formal attire, and he’d be picking them up at 6:00 pm. He had started their day off by giving them a gift certificate to your nail salon, so you could take them to get their nails done.
You’d taken them right after lunch, Audrina went with a glittery pink, while Iliana chose a neon purple, you’d gone a little simpler, a French tip.
Once you got home, you let the girls play for a little bit before curling their hair and styling it. The girls had matching outfits, light pink sweaters covered in lip prints, paired with a light pink tutu-style skirt. Their shoes are where they differed, Audrina wore these red cowgirl boots (she’d been exclusively wearing them lately) and Iliana wore her high-top converse – wanting to match her dad.
By the time the girls were completely ready, Spencer was just arriving home. He’d prompted the girls this morning, informing them that he’d be taking them out on a real father-daughter date. They replied with squeals, thrilled to be going out with daddy…while you were excited for a night off and a date with the bottle of wine you’d been saving and your bathtub.
--
A knock on the door had the girls running, tripping over one another to answer it.
“Girls slow down! The last thing we need is scraped up knees to go with your outfits.” You shook your head.
Opening the door you were met with three bouquets of roses, each a different shade. You couldn’t help the smile that took over your features, even though this night wasn’t about you, he’d gone out of his way to make sure you felt acknowledged as well.
“Hi baby.” You greeted.
“Hello, my gorgeous girls.” He handed each of you your flowers, happily taking in the sight of your adorably matching daughters.
“Daddy! Daddy! Are we going now?” Audrina shouted.
“Well babygirl, are you both ready? I don’t want to rush either of you.”
“We’re ready!” Iliana said grabbing her tiny toy purse.
Spencer leaned in, pressing a kiss to your lips as goodbye, before leaning down and placing a big smooch on each of the girls cheeks. You lent down and followed suit.
“I love you guys, have fun!” You called as they made their way to his car.
--
Spencer took the time to open the door for both girls, assisting them into their car seats, letting them choose the music they listened to on the way to the restaurant. He’d chosen a nice steakhouse; one you had frequented on special occasions, he knew the girls liked the food there and would actually eat something.
He helped them out of the car and held each of their hands as they headed up to the entrance, once again holding the door for them.
“Reservation for Reid.” He told the maître d.
Once the three of them were led to their table, already accommodated with booster seats for the girls, he lifted them one by one into their chairs. They were all smiles, enjoying the attention they were getting. Though the girls don’t really notice…it truly kills Spencer that he still has to work so much. He’s done a lot to lessen his workload with the BAU, taking a few months of the year to teach at the university so he doesn’t have to travel with the team. Needless to say, nights like these were his favorite.
--
“Alright girls, what would you guys like to drink?” He asked
“Juice please.” Iliana replied.
“Can I have sprite?” Audrina asked.
“I will tell you what, if you both want a sprite, you can have one…after that, how about we switch to juice or water?” Spencer negotiated.
“Okay!” Audrina replied.
“I want a sprite too!” Iliana changed her mind.
“Sounds good.”
--
The night was continuing on wonderfully, Spencer had ordered the food, steak and French fries for the table, promptly cutting the steak into bite size pieces for the girls. Conversation flowed easily, the girls told Spencer about what they learned in preschool this week, they talked to him about getting their nails done, showing him their now-greasy fingers.
He had been listening intently when Iliana asked him a question.
“Hey daddy, why did you bring us here?”
“Well sweetheart, one day when you are much, much older, you will have a Valentine of your own…” He began.
“Like you and mommy?” Audrina interrupted.
“Yes, just like mommy and me. You’ll each have a special person, and I want to make sure that you understand how important it is to make sure someone is treating you right.” He explained.
“Like you did?” Iliana inquired.
“Yeah baby, like I did today. But I also want you guys to know that not only does someone need to treat you well, but you need to treat them well in return. Like mommy and I are always doing things for one another, trying to meet one another where we’re at.” He finished.
Both girls nodded, clearly not old enough to really understand the weight behind the words Spencer had shared. He just knew that he’d have to continue this tradition of showing the girls what love looked like, not only through these little dates, but also through his interactions with you.
 --
When they arrived home, he had a teddy bear on each of the girls beds waiting for them (you’d been so kind as to place them there after they left). They’d been so excited, giving Spencer no trouble when he put them to bed.
He found you soaking in a bubble bath once he made his way to your shared room. He was so happy to be with you after a long day.
“Hey sweetheart.” He leaned in and pressed a kiss to your temple.
“Hi baby, did you guys have a good time? I got your picture!” You smiled recalling the adorable photo of Spencer sandwiched between your daughters, each of them pressing a kiss to his cheeks.
“We did. I will say, I am glad to be home though. Can I join you?” He asked
“Of course.”
--
Spencer had gently slid in behind you, holding you close to him. The two of you just relaxing after a long day. You leaned back, nuzzling further into his grasp, releasing a deep breath.
“You alright?” Spencer questioned.
“Yeah, he’s just especially active today.” You said, letting your hands run over your prominent bump.
Spencer reached his hands up and ran them along the expanse of your belly, feeling the kicks of your unborn son. His chin coming to rest on your shoulder. Spencer let out the quietest of sighs, and if you hadn’t been paying close attention, you’re sure you’d have missed it.
“You okay?”
‘“Yeah, I’m okay.”
“Spence, you’re going to be a great boy dad. Just like you are with the girls. I know you’re worried, but if anything, your experiences will allow you to teach our son compassion and the ability to express his emotions. He will be capable of making someone incredibly happy, because he has a daddy that makes me so happy.” You gushed.
Spencer sniffled lightly before pressing his lips to the side of your neck. You could feel his lips turn up into a smile, bringing one of your own to your lips. You truly loved him, and you knew from the moment you met him that he’d be an incredible husband and father, and he continues to prove that every passing day.

Come bother me, baby.
Based on the following post: Inspo  you are the bane of young Aaron's existence - back when he was just an agent under Gideon and Rossi. A pain in his ass…so when you transfer to avoid your feelings for him, he begs you to come back. Okay listen, I know that Hotch didn’t really work under Rossi in the beginning, as Rossi had already left…but we’re all gonna pretend for the sake of this fic. Also – Haley just never existed in this, and that’s ok.

July 1993
The year was 1993, Jason Gideon and David Rossi were just granted permission to hire two agents to expand the team. They agreed that they would each pick an agent, that way there’d be no room to argue. They interviewed a total of 17 potential candidates, 13 of those were interviewed by Rossi and the other 4 by Gideon.
Aaron Hotchner had been the 7th file in Rossi’s stack, it was an impressive resume, one that was filled with cases he’d worked as a prosecutor, and then a number of cases he’d worked as a profiler in the Seattle Field office. He now was here in Quantico, Virginia, hoping to gain a spot on the BAU. To Rossi, Aaron had stood out amongst the others, he’d sat through all 13 interviews, and nobody could match the passion for this position like Aaron had. It had been an easy choice.
You had been the 2nd file in Gedeon’s stack, and honestly he’d been let down by his first candidate…so when you walked in, more than qualified for this position, he excused the other two candidates.  He didn’t feel the need to interview them, his gut told him you were the right choice. Your file had been padded with your numerous degrees varying from bachelor's degrees in psychology and criminology, to a master’s degree in forensic psychology, ending with a PhD in psychology. For the last year you’d been working in the Phoenix field office as a profiler. And while you didn’t have a ton of field experience, Gideon had been thoroughly impressed with your tenacity and overall enthusiasm for the profession.
--
September 1993
Things had started off okay…mostly. Aaron definitely treated you like you were a child, though you were only three years younger than him. While you’d spent a lot of time expanding your knowledge of this field, Aaron had worked as a prosecutor immediately after his completion of law school. You weren’t sure why he thought he was so much better than you…you were a doctor after all.
It had started in the most dismissive way possible. You’d accidentally spilled your coffee at the round table, it had spread fast, covering his copy of the latest case file. You apologized immediately, offered him your copy while you went to print another. He shook his head at you, muttering something along the lines of you being young and unprofessional.
You had thought about going to Gideon to complain but ultimately decided against it. It would only make him see you as more of a child. So, you’d worked your ass off to prove yourself, you needed to show him that you were an asset to the BAU and not a liability.
--
May 1994
“I think this unsub is female.” You stated confidently.
“Are you insane?” Aaron scoffed.
“Before you completely dismiss me Hotch, hear me out.”
“Don’t call me that.” He hissed.
You had to physically wipe the smirk from your face before explaining your theory to the team. You’d pointed out how meticulous everything had been, how much care had gone into the murders and the disposals.
“If we really break everything down, it’s all done with so much care. The bodies haven’t just been dumped, they’ve been cleaned, redressed, and neatly placed in beautiful locations. The field of flowers, the hillside, by the art installation at the park.” You’d gestured to the photos pinned on the corkboard.
Looking around you could see the impressed look Gideon was wearing, it was bordering smug as he turned his gaze over to Rossi with a nod. Rossi couldn’t do anything other than shrug – you’d made a good point, who was he to question your expertise. But then there was Aaron…he was looking around in disbelief, nobody was even going to question it?
Aaron was pissed that you had been right. Three days after that briefing, you taken Helena Murphy into custody. She had lost her siblings in a car accident when she was in her teens, and a recent fender bender had been her trigger. She’d been taking the lives of young people who had resembled her siblings and laid them to rest somewhere beautiful…unlike the highway guardrail that had ultimately taken her family from her all those years ago.
Gideon and Rossi both gave you kudos for narrowing down the profile the way you had. The police officers at the Milwaukee PD had congratulated you and subsequently thanked you for your hard work. Aaron wouldn’t even look at you.
Needless to say, the flight home was tense.
--
August 1994
“Ugh it is soooo hot!” You whined, fanning yourself with a loose manila folder.
“Would you stop that?” Aaron asked.
“Stop what?” You feigned innocence.
“Bothering me! Your fanning is blowing all my papers around, just cut it out.” He huffed.
“Sure, thing Hotch.” You offered a sickly-sweet smile.
“Don’t call me that!” He shook his head and continued his report.
You stood from your desk and removed your blazer, showing off the fitted tank top you’d been wearing underneath. You made your way up to the kitchenette to retrieve some ice water and the ice pack from your lunchbox. At this point, you’d do anything to cool off.
You sat back down at your desk, sipping the water and crunching on the ice, while shifting the icepack from your chest to your neck. Aaron was so distracted by your constant moving that he had to speak up again. But as his gaze landed on you, he was rendered speechless…only for a moment, but it was enough time for him to notice the way the condensation from the icepack had dripped down your chest and when you slid it back to your neck, he could see the effect the could had on your breasts. His throat went dry.
“Stop messing around, it’s distracting.” He ordered.
“You’re no fun Hotch.”
“Would you just stop bothering me? You’re doing it on purpose now.” He sighed.
“Oh, fine.” You conceded.
--
November 1994
You made your way into the FBI building, hanging on one arm is your go bag, packed and ready to go. On the other arm is your purse, struggling to stay up on your shoulder as you held onto a basket filled with baked goods.
“Happy Holidays Jim!” You greeted, handing him a loaf of pumpkin bread.
“Thanks doll, you too! Did you get called in?” Jim, the head of security, asked.
“No, not yet anyway. I just figured I’d stop by.” You shrugged.
“You weren’t celebrating?” He questioned.
“Oh, um no, not this year.”
“Well doll, thanks for the pumpkin bread. Happy thanksgiving.” Jim smiled.
You made your way around, passing out different backed goods to people you saw every day, Maureen the receptionist, Mike from IT, and Sandra who was the director’s assistant. You’d even gone as far as bringing something for the BAU team members in the event that you did get called in.
Speaking of…
Gideon rushed into the bullpen of the sixth floor, in his haste he nearly missed the slight step down into the main section of the floor where your and Aaron’s desks sat. He was ferociously pressing the buttons on his pager – surely sending a page to the team informing them of the newest case.
Your suspicions were confirmed when yours beeped from your desk, drawing yours and Gideon’s attention.
“Jesus, I didn’t realize you were here. What are you doing here already?” Gideon asked.
“No reason to celebrate…I thought I could make myself useful here.” You shrugged and offered Gideon a container of gingersnaps.
“Thanks kid. Can you go get the files from Anderson?” Gideon requested.
“Of course, sir.”
Aaron arrived next; shock evident on his face when he saw you coming back from retrieving the files. He was about to make a snarky comment about you being here so early when Rossi came in behind him and clapped him on the shoulder.
--
The four of you were on the plane heading to Oklahoma, you were seated next to Gideon, going over the file, passing theories back and forth. Aaron was sat next to Rossi, stewing in a feeling the bordered annoyance.
“I can feel the steam blowing out of your ears.” Rossi teased.
“Sorry I just don’t get it…she got there so fast. She just – she just bothers me.” Aaron huffed.
“She was already there kid, she was at the BAU before Gideon even got there, he told me.” Rossi explained.
“What do you mean she was already there? Why would she have been at the office already?”
“I assume to keep herself busy. She lost her parents when she was in college, so she doesn’t really have anyone to celebrate the holidays with. She brought everyone at the office treats.” Rossi smiled, popping another bite of his banana nut muffin into his mouth.
“I didn’t know. That’s uh-that’s…” Aaron didn’t quite know what to say.
“Check your bag Hotch.” Rossi smiled and went back to his file.
Placed neatly in the outer pocket of Aaron’s bag was a cellophane bag containing snickerdoodles, his favorite. A red ribbon tied the bag closed and attached to it was a small note…
Sorry for bothering you all the time. Hopefully these can make up for a little bit of it.
Aaron took a bit of one of the cookies., rolling his eyes because, of course, they were perfect. He couldn’t help but feel bothered by your inability to be bad at something.
--
February 1995
You hated valentine’s day, it had always been a sore spot, all your friends swooning over the overpriced chocolate and roses that their boyfriends would get them. Not you though, you hadn’t received a valentine since freshman year of high school when Mathew Smith taped a rose to your locker. Matt had been nice and all, but he was looking for something…unserious.
You got yourself dressed and dragged yourself to the BAU. Everyone was so chipper as you entered the building, greeting you…but you met the majority of them with a scowl. Stepping off the elevator and going over to your desk, surprise overcoming you as you’re met with peonies and a pack of razzles. You moved them around, trying to find the note, coming across a yellow sticky note.
I thought these could be repayment for the pens you got me for Christmas.    -Hotch
You smiled at the signature, he’d hated when you called him Hotch, you’d been the first to do so and he was annoyed at how unprofessional it had initially seemed, he’d tell you not to call him that and claim you bothered him on purpose, but as Rossi and Gideon joined in with the nickname, he slowly grew to like you…it!
Aaron sat at his desk, plopping into his chair with a sigh. Your gaze lifted to meet his, a timid smile gracing your features.
“Hotch”
“Don’t bother me today.”
“Thank you.” You smiled.
“Don’t mention it.”
--
May 1995
May and June had become your least favorite months of the year. After losing your parents, you thought Christmas would be hard, and it was…but you’d found friends in school who would celebrate with you.
It was Mother’s Day and Father’s Day that killed you. People didn’t invite their orphaned friend over to celebrate those holidays with their family because…well because that’s weird.
These two months brought with them the painful reminder that your parents were gone.
Truthfully, you’d been glad to get the page letting you know that a case came in, it would have been a welcomed distraction…if it hadn’t been in your hometown.
Aaron could see how tense you were. He was trying to profile you, figure out what had you so worked up. He knew this time of year had to be difficult for you, seeing as Rossi told him you lost your mom. But he could tell there was something deeper, rooted within you.
It took some time, but after sitting back and observing, he figured it out. A few different officers knew you by name and were on a first-name basis with you. You’d been extremely familiar with the layout of the city, not needing directions to the location you’d gone to earlier. This must be your hometown.
--
“Alright guys, nice job today. So, we are flying out first thing tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your evening.” Rossi said.
You were slow to pack up, gathering your things, chatting with a few of the officers before heading out of the precinct. You didn’t really know what to do, you didn’t want to go back to the hotel, but you also didn’t want to go around town. You had too many memories here, it was too hard to go around and picture all the times you had with your parents around here.
“Hey, you want to go for a drive with me?” Aaron asked
You couldn’t even mask the shock as it etched its way across your features.
“Sure.”
At first you had no idea where Aaron was heading, the drive feeling unfamiliar…but then all at once you’d figured it out. He was driving to Blue Grove Cemetery.
“What the hell are you doing? Why are we here?” You questioned, anxiety lacing your words.
“Look, I can’t imagine how hard it must be to go through May and June, now that they’re gone. I thought it might be nice for you to see them before we head back tomorrow.” Aaron explained.
So many feelings were running through you. Initially anger, why would he blindside you like this. But then that morphed into panic, you didn’t want Hotch to see this side of you, the weak and vulnerable side. But lastly was this weird warmth…it was slow moving like molasses, sticking to every part of your body.
--
Aaron parked and let you control the pace. He waited to move until you reached for the handle on the door, slowly exiting the SUV. You stood there, still, unmoving, unsure if you could do this. Aaron grabbed a bag out of the back seat before walking around to meet you where you stood.
“I’m sorry, I – I don’t…”
“Hey,” Aaron placed his hand on your shoulder gently. “Take your time.”
You nodded at him gratefully.
Eventually you began to move, leading Aaron through the cemetery. You’d passed headstone after headstone until you came to a stop at their gravesite, resting just below a beautiful tree, offering just enough shade to allow you respite from the heat.
Aaron laid out a small blanket, letting you sit first, hesitating for a beat.
“You can sit…please.” You asked, more than told.
Aaron sat next to you silently. He pulled the bag in front of the two of you, removing its contents, a sandwich cut in half, a bag of kettle chips (your favorite) and lastly two diet cokes. As you watched him, you smiled, you may bother him once in a while…okay all the time…but he cared. Whether he’d admit it or not.
The two of you sat there, eating, enjoying the cool breeze that the afternoon offered. After some time had passed, you found yourself telling Aaron about your parents. How your mom loved to bake, and she would tell you that food brought people together. You told him how your dad did everything himself, he never called in a specialist for everything.
Aaron chimed in with how you’d clearly taken after them and it made you an incredible profiler…and there it was again, that warm feeling.
You’d recognized it… it was the same feeling that bloomed within you on valentine’s day, and before that, on Christmas. You’d bought hotch these really fancy fountain pens he’d mentioned in passing and he got you a coat, a nice warm one, since you didn’t seem to own one.
This warm, sticky, sweet feeling was rearing its ugly head…and you were pretty sure it was called love.
--
July 1995
That warm feeling had burrowed its way deep into your core and you were freaking out. You’d been doing everything you could to act normal around Hotch, you were worried you’d been failing miserably.
“I think your agent has a crush on my agent…” Rossi said to Gideon, peaking out the window of his office.
“That’s interesting, because I am pretty sure your agent has feelings for my agent.” Gideon challenged.
“Do you think they’ll figure it out?”
“Not any time soon.”
--
You flicked a paper football over your screen onto Hotch’s desk. He glanced up at you, only his gaze didn’t hold its usual annoyance, instead there was something that mirrored amusement written there.
“Are you trying to bother me some more?” Aaron asked.
“Um, yes. That’s my job; to bother you…didn’t you get the memo?” You teased.
“I must have missed that one.” He let out a breathy chuckle.
You went back to your report, working diligently. All of two minutes passed before the paper football knocked against your hand as it landed on your desk. You laughed and shook your head gently, there was that stupid feeling again.
--
October 1995
Your knuckles rapped gently against Gideon’s office door. You were shaking, your stomach twisted at the thought of what you were about to do. It had taken you a little while to figure out the best option…knowing that it wouldn’t be professional to continue working with Hotch with these feelings you had for him.
You’d looked at all the openings here at Quantico, trying to figure out which position would best suit you. Ultimately, counterterrorism was looking for someone with a background in psychology, so it just made sense. Which brings you to now, you were about to go into Gideon’s office and request the transfer.
“Come in.”
“Hey Gideon, I uh…I need to talk to you about something.” You stumbled a bit.
“Go ahead.” He gestured to the chair opposite him.
You sat, taking a steadying breath. “I’m requesting a transfer. To counterterrorism.”
“No.”
“Gideon, you-”
“No.” He began. “I am not going to sign a transfer request for you, especially not to counterterrorism, you have exceptional skills, and we need them here.”
“Gideon, I have to transfer. I feel – I have…” You trailed off as your eyes found Aaron beyond the window in the bullpen. “I can’t work with him, not when I feel like this.”
Gideon took a deep breath, looking at you and taking in the longing gaze you wore. He didn’t fully understand what thoughts were running through your head, but if this is what you felt you needed to do, he wasn’t going to stop you. You were a very strong and capable agent…he trusted your judgement.
“How much longer do we have you here at the BAU?” He asked waving for you to hand him the paper.
“Two weeks.” You sighed. “I’m sorry Gideon.”
“Don’t apologize. You’re smart and you need to do what is best for you.”
--
November 1995
“Alright guys we have a case, round table in five.” Rossi called out into the bullpen.
You gathered your things, knowing you wouldn’t be travelling with them for this case. You figured you’d sit through the round table, offer a few theories and then let them go on their way.  Aaron watched you slowly grabbing a legal pad and your signature pink pen, he chuckled grabbing his own paper and one of the fountain pens from the set you bought him.
“Before we begin I just want to say that I am so proud of how you have grown and flourished with this team, and while it is a huge loss for the BAU, counterterrorism is lucky to have you.” Gideon stated, looking at you.
“What? You-you’re transferring?” Aaron asked incredulously.
“Yes.”
“When…when are you leaving?” He asked.
“Today is my last day.” Your gaze shifted to your lap.
“We can talk about this later, let’s go over the facts of the case.” Gideon demanded.
Through the entire briefing Aaron’s eyes were burning into you. He couldn’t focus on the fact of this case because he was completely hung up on the fact that yours wouldn’t be the face across from him anymore…you weren’t going to be there to flick paper footballs at him, or to hum songs all day, to crunch annoyingly on baby carrots. Who was going to bother him if you were gone?
After you finished going over the case, you couldn’t help the sting behind your eyes, slowly realizing that this was it, your time at the BAU was done. But you held your head up high and steeled yourself. You offered Gideon a handshake, Rossi pulled you into a tight hug, and Aaron…well he brushed by you with a curt nod.
--
Aaron was miserable throughout the entirety of the two weeks they were away on this case. He was moping, and it wasn’t going unnoticed. Rossi and Gideon shared a knowing look, thankful that he was finally figuring it out.
They hadn’t quite expected it to take him so long to do something about it.
--
December 1995
The bullpen was so quiet without you. Aaron felt uneasy; he was the only one in the center of the floor now that you were gone. His file going long forgotten as he sat back and thought about things for a bit…
When he first saw you, you’d entered the elevator at the same time for your interviews, you’d offered a quiet thank to him for holding the elevator for you and he couldn’t deny then how cute you were. But then you’d both been hired on as profilers and he knew he wouldn’t be allowed to think that anymore, so he shoved the feeling down.
Then you spilled your coffee all over the table, effectively ruining his file, but you’d cursed, burning your hand as you quickly tried to clean it up. He wanted nothing more than to hold you and tell you it would be okay, so he fled.
It was so many things after that, your intelligence and the passion you had for profiling. Your baking, always noting people’s favorites and bringing them sweets, just to see them smile. The way you listened, remembering something he’d brought up in passing and gone out of your way to order his favorite pens.
Oh shit. He was in love with you. He’d fallen in love with you and had been too stupid to realize it.
--
Aaron moved with a purpose, rushing through the FBI building, making his way up the two flights of stairs it took to get to counterterrorism. He burst through the door, drawing attention to himself, his eyes frantically scanning the room in search of you.
He moved forward, noticing you across the room. He reached you in a few long strides, stopping just before you.
“Hotch…what are you doing here?” You looked around, blushing profusely.
“Sweetheart, you need to come back to the BAU.”
“I can’t…Aaron I-”
“I know that I have given you no reason to believe this, but I love you sweetheart. I need you to come back to the BAU, come back and bother me, baby.”
“No.” You shook your head in disbelief.
“Well yes.”
“Aaron, no.”
“Yes! Come bother me, baby. Bother me for the rest of my life.” Aaron begged. His hands reaching forward to cup your face.
“Okay” You gasped.
Aaron pulled you into a kiss, the agents surrounding you erupting in cheers for the both of you.
--
Bonus scene – May 2016
“Happy Mother’s Day sweetheart.”
“Happy Mother's Day mom!”
“Thank you guys!” You smiled, feeling nothing but joy looking to those who surrounded you.
Before you was your incredible husband and your three children, two sons and a daughter. They had gotten up early to make breakfast for you before they headed off to school. There had been a bouquet of peonies, cards, and a pack of razzles.
“Jack, are you okay to get Zoey to school today? We got called in pretty early.” You asked.
“Yeah mom! I have practice though, so Jason and Zoey might have to hang out a while.”
“Don’t worry about that bud, Will offered to pick them up when he picks up Michael.” Aaron patted Jack on the shoulder.
“Alright kids, we will see you later, be safe and please text me when you get to school!” You called, heading out the door with Aaron hot on your tail.
--
Aaron and you made your way into the BAU hand-in-hand. You glanced around at this team you built together, and you couldn’t be happier. Aaron made his way toward his office, noticing you’d stopped and before he could say anything, Dave clapped him on the back.
“Leave her be. She’s admiring this family you’ve built together.”
You looked over to where Aaron and Dave stood, offering a bright smile. You then made your way down to the floor, greeting Emily, JJ, Derek, Spencer and Penelope.

You’re…intimidating.
Based on the following ask: For Hotch x reader, could I please request charming witty reader who Hotch has an obvioussss crush on and he's trying to flirt but he's out of practice and she's pretty extroverted, confident so she just doesn't register he's interested and he's getting grief from the team for being all puppy dog eyes at her? Pref non-BAU reader but maybe she works in a different FBI dept or she's a lawyer/consultant they work with often and Hotch is always the first to suggest working with her so he's not being subtle in wanting to spend time with her lol. Feel free to adapt!! Thanks!! ❤️Okay pookie!!! I’ve been thinking about this one and it might end up pretty self-indulgent and for that I am sorry – girlie works for cybercrimes (but transfers to the BAU – sorry it felt right) and she’s the best of the best like Penelope worships her…she’s a little alternative so Hotch admires her from afar because she’s not his usual type just PURE FLUFF
Aaron Hotchner x FBI! Fem Reader
Fluff
Word count: 2674
Not edited - please be kind. Requests are open and feedback is welcome if it's constructive!
Warnings: My blog is 18+, minors DNI, age gap (reader is late 20’s, Aaron is 45), some explicit language, not an OC but reader is described to have some tattoos and piercings (nothing specific though), reader works for cybercrimes and is SUPER tech savvy, idiots in love, Hotch pining hard, tooth rotting fluff, canon typical violence, mentions of hacking and breaking laws, reader is an extroverted introvert, Reader is called “Agent Z” or “Z” because she is a gen z, let me know if I missed any

“Hotchner, this is the third time this month you’ve requested her. I’m beginning to think we should be offering her a spot in the BAU.” Director Cruz teased.
“If she’d be willing, I wouldn’t be opposed to the idea.” Hotch shrugged.
“I’ll put in the consultation request and maybe I’ll bring up the idea of a transfer to her.”
Hotch stood and returned to the sixth floor, promptly running into Penelope, as she was making her way back to the Batcave.
“So, I heard I might be getting some assistance on our next case! You know if you keep inviting Agent Z to join us, I’m going to get used to having her around.”
“Would that be so bad?” Hotch asked.
“No, it definitely wouldn’t…unless she stops coming around.” Penelope retorted.
The look on Hotch’s face gave him away, there was a brief flash of disappointment at the suggestion of you not coming around anymore. He couldn’t bear the thought…which made him even more nervous than you did. Speaking of…
“Hey Hotch!” You called effectively startling him.
“Hello! I uh – I wasn’t expecting you so soon.”
“Ah well, Cruz emailed the request over and I got the notification, so I figured there was no time to waste.” You shrugged.
“Well, we might as well debrief the team then.” Aaron offered, gesturing toward the conference room.
--
Here’s the deal, Aaron had feelings for you, you had captivated him the first time he saw you. It was a Tuesday in July, the weather had been unforgiving…hot and humid, not ideal for the business attire of FBI agents.
As he made his way into the building, he’d taken note of how nearly everyone had their suit jackets or blazers slung over their arms, their sleeves rolled up as they hurried into the air-conditioned building.
But then there was you. You were wearing these chunky black loafers and black trousers, your top had been a simple black tank, it was hugging your skin in a way that made Aaron’s mouth go dry. You had a checkered cardigan tossed over your forearm that you had clearly removed. It allowed Aaron a view of the tattoos that adorned your arms.
He couldn’t explain the pull he felt…you had been so different from any woman he’d ever had any interest in before, but maybe that’s why things never worked out with them. Maybe the others were too stiff, too proper. Maybe he needed a little chaos in his life.
--
During the debriefing, Aaron had made sure you were sat next to him. He let Penelope present the case as usual and allowed time for theories. While Derek and Emily were talking back and forth about the possible age and gender of the unsub, Aaron’s eyes were trained on you. He could see your mind running a mile a minute.
“What is it?” Aaron asked, tapping your arm gently.
“Oh, no. I was just thinking. There’s something about the photo’s that were left at the crime scene…it feels familiar.” You shrugged.
“Have you seen another case like this?”
“I think so…” You pulled open your laptop and began searching through old case files and evidence you’d logged over the years. “Here! Hotch, look at this!”
Aaron leaned over, leaving hardly any space between the two of you. His gaze shifted from your profile to your computer screen, taking in the images before him. On your screen were photos that were nearly identical to those in the file the team had just reviewed.
It seemed as though this unsub took photos to document their work. Leaving some behind at the crime scenes, taunting law enforcement.
“We didn’t have very many leads back when this came across my desk, but I have new programs I can use to run these photos through now and with Penelope’s help, I think we could finally get this guy.” You explained.
“Alright, why don’t you travel with us so you can access the physicals of the photos.” Aaron suggested.
“Okay!”
“Alright then, wheels up in thirty.” Aaron commanded.
--
“Hey Agent Z! You joining us again?” Derek nudged you gently.
“Not this time, I was just asked to come and consult on a case.” You replied.
“Oh, I see. Bossman calling in his favorite once again.”
“Stop! It’s not like that Derek.”
“Girl…you and I both know that it is.” Derek laughed and walked off.
You made your way to Aaron’s office, knocking on the door. When he calls out for you to enter, you go straight for the chair in front of his desk, plopping into it with a huff.
“You alright?” Aaron asks, concern lacing his tone. “We could do this later if you’re not up for it.”
“No! I’m happy to help! I’ve just got a decision to make, and I don’t know what to do.” You sighed. “Let’s talk about this case!”
Aaron and you went through the case that had been sent in from the NYPD. You were confused as to why he’d called you in to consult, the case had seemed pretty cut and dry…something Aaron would typically delegate to Derek or Dave. The tech aspect to this case was so minute, it was common sense…but you didn’t want to call him out on it.
--
“Thanks again for your help, hopefully the NYPD can close that case pretty quickly now.” Aaron walked you over toward the elevators.
“Any time. I like working with you and the BAU.” You smiled cheerfully.
“So um, what was that decision you have to make?” He inquired.
“Oh, uh…well, Cruz asked me if I wanted to transfer from Cybercrimes over to the BAU actually.”
“That’s great! I mean – I uh. Do you think you’ll do it?”
“I’m thinking about it for sure! It’s just, I’ve been with Cybercrimes for so long, I’d feel bad leaving them…ya know?”
“Yeah, I know what you mean.”
You said your goodbyes and you headed back to your office on the eighth floor. Aaron stood there for a bit, looking after you as you made your exit. He stood there a beat longer before turning and heading back to his office. Only he didn’t get that far. Upon walking through the glass doors, he was met with the whole team standing there waiting for him.
“You’re down bad Hotch.” Emily said.
“Yeah, that was almost painful to watch.” JJ agreed.
“I don’t know what you’re referring to.” Hotch shook his head and made his way back to his office.
--
Agreeing with the director to have you transferred was, quite possibly, the dumbest decision that Aaron could have ever made. He already struggled just being near you when you’d come and assist, but the thought of having you around all the time…what was he meant to do?
Subject: Agent Transfer – Effective immediately Good afternoon, This email is being sent to inform both the CCU and BAU of the immediate transfer of Agent Z. In discussing this transfer, she assured me that should the CCU need her assistance in a case, she’d happily help. She does, however, know that the agents on the team are more than capable of handling things. As for the BAU, given her expertise and background, she will travel with you as needed. I just want to remind you that Agent Z has a background in hacking, computer forensics, criminal justice, psychology, behavior analysis, amongst others. Utilize her skills – I believe she will make an incredible contribution to the BAU. Hotchner – her file was delivered to your office this morning. Also, she needs firearms training, please ensure she completes this before travelling with the team. Let me know if you have any questions. Mateo Cruz - Section Chief of the Behavioral Analysis Unit
Aaron read the email four times. You would be starting with the team today…he needs to get you scheduled for your firearms training and qualification exam. He figured he could do that while you get settled in the office adjacent to Penelope’s.
--
“Hey Hotch.” Your fingers rapped against the doorframe.
“Hi-Hello. Can I uh, show you to your office?” He asked.
“Penelope already beat you to it.” You teased. “But if you want to help me bring the last of my boxes down, that would be awesome.”
“Oh, I um-I…can-”
“It’s okay, you don’t have to! You’re a busy man, and I can ask Spence or Derek!”
“No, I’d love to help.” Aaron recovered.
“Okay.” You smiled.
Aaron led the two of you over to the elevator, allowing you to enter first, then following suit and pressing the button for the eighth floor. It slowly lifted before signaling your arrival on the CCU floor.
You guided Aaron to your old office where the last two boxes remained. There was an IT guy loading your monitors onto a cart, getting ready to move them for you. You looked around at the now empty space…it felt empty now, like it no longer belonged to you, and you supposed it didn’t anymore. Aaron couldn’t help but notice the slight sadness that took over your features.
“Are you alright?” He asked.
“Oh, yeah, I’m okay. It’s just odd, having had this office for the last four years, and now it’s empty…it’s not mine anymore.” Your gaze shifted downward. “It feels like the end of a chapter. While the feeling isn’t bad, because I’m really excited to be joining the BAU, it just feels kind of sad.”
“I know what you mean. I felt that same way when I left the law firm I worked at.” Aaron looked over at you.
You met his gaze, and he offered a small smile. You returned it, feeling this sense of comfort. He’d always brought up that feeling in you though. It was like this glowing warmth that spread its way through your entire being…but that flame only burned in you when he was around.
--
“And hold it just like that, good!” Aaron praised.
You fired three consecutive shots at the target, forming a neat cluster in the outlines chest. Pride bloomed in Aaron’s chest, and you squealed with excitement, throwing your arms around him!
“Thank you so much for helping me! There was no way I was going to pass this exam without you!”
“I’m not sure how you’ve been with the bureau this long and not had to get your firearm qualification.” Aaron shook his head with a laugh.
“Hey! I have been confined to the eighth floor for the last five-ish years, I haven’t needed to carry one.”
Aaron took note of the freckles that dusted your nose, and the way the light reflected in your eyes. He thought for a moment about how close you were, and how easy it would be to just lean in the last few inches and capture your lips in a kiss. But he had to shake the thought away.
--
“I PASSED!” You shouted, running your way through the BAU bullpen.
“Good lord, what are you yelling about?” Dave asked, coming out of his office.
“I PASSED! I PASSED!” You waved your firearms certificate in the air, making your way over to Aaron’s office.
He exited his office to see what the commotion was all about, seeing you shaking your hand, waving a piece of paper around like a mad woman. He was mesmerized by you. You were 100% yourself and he admired you for it, you weren’t worried about how others perceived you. You only worried about your own opinion; you wanted to be the best version of yourself always.
“HOTCHHH, I PASSED!” You ran over to him and jumped into his arms, wrapping your own around his neck.
Aaron held you tight, lifting you off the ground for just a moment before noticing the look on Dave’s face. He placed you down and quietly congratulated you. He couldn’t help but feel embarrassed at getting caught by Dave. He knew that he had done nothing wrong…but he also knew that Dave could read him better than anyone else.
--
“Okay, when are you going to ask that girl out?” Dave huffed, sitting in the chair across from Aaron.
“Dave.” Aaron scolded. “It’s inappropriate.”
“Aaron…you deserve it. Happiness I mean. So, are you going to let it pass you by or are you going to seize the moment?”
“Sir, I don’t mean to interrupt, but we have a case.” Penelope informed. “It’s a child abduction.”
“Let everyone know we’re leaving now – we will brief on the plane.” Aaron commanded.
“Is Z going with you?” Penelope asked.
“Yes!” Dave answered for Aaron.
--
Aaron always sat next to you on the plane. It had been purely accidental, you’d sat in his usual seat and though Aaron wouldn’t say anything, Spencer did. So, you moved over into the adjacent window seat and Aaron slid in next to you. Since then, you’d always sat there.
Like now for example, the BAU was headed home after a two-week long case. The unsub had been way too good at covering his tracks, he’d had the entire team stumped. Thankfully you’d found his slipup in a dark web chatroom. He’d posted video of him torturing his latest victim in a chatroom used by very sick people. It was flagged once you’d turned on notifications for keywords and certain video content. After receiving the notification, Penelope and you were able to track an IP address and narrow down the location.
It had been exhausting honestly, running around, back and forth, interviewing people, going through evidence, just going until you found this guy…and now that was finally catching up to you. Your head had been bobbing off to the side as you fought the throws of sleep. As you began dozing off once more, Aaron reached over and led your head to rest on his shoulder. You finally settled and snuggled a bit further into his side, and for once he leaned back and let himself rest on the flight home.
Emily pointed JJ and Derek’s attention over to the two of you and then giggled. Derek quickly snapped a picture and sent it in their group chat. Penelope was quick to reply with the happy tears emojis and saying “finally”.
--
Things had shifted slightly after that. And while the team still teased Aaron about his very obvious crush on you, he finally allowed himself to be more confident in his interactions with you. He realized that Dave was right…maybe he did deserve happiness.
He’d invited you to get lunch with him a few times during work and he’d brought you coffee. He thought he was making his affection for you more obvious…but you still didn’t budge. He was beginning to worry that you didn't feel the same.
But it all came to a head when he decided he needed to be direct. Not on his own…Emily and JJ had to confront him and then convince him that you did like him, you just didn’t think he liked you.
--
You walked into the elevator, just about to click the button to the sixth floor when an arm reached in to stop the door from closing.
“Oh! Good morning Hotch.” You greeted. “Sorry, if I had seen you coming I’d have held the door.”
“No worries.” He forgave. “Do you um – do you have any plans tonight?”
“No, I was thinking of ordering a pizza and watching an episode of The Great British Bake Off. What about you?”
You’re reply had been so innocent and sweet. Just a simple response to his question, not reading into what he was truly asking you.
“Sweetheart, though your plans sound wonderful…will you go to dinner with me tonight?” He asked.
Your jaw dropped, only for a moment as you worked to regain your composure. Had you really been that blind? The girls had told you time and time again that he was interested, and you’d brushed it off, not wanting to get your hopes up…but here he is now, asking you out.
“I would love to.” You smiled.

I’m Sorry…What?
Based on the following ask: Established relationship but it’s secret from the team. The team think they don’t like each other but in truth they are deeply in love with each other but the team don’t let them always be alone together out of worry so there have been a few close calls where they almost get caught until reader and Aaron room together and finally talk about maybe telling the team only the way they tell them is threw wedding invites and that’s shocks the team and they all have questions to which reader and Aaron only smile thinking how funny it is that a team of profilers never found them out. Love this idea! In this, Derek kind of looks out for the reader – very “big brother” behavior from him in this.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
You stood from your desk, just about to head up to Hotch’s office with a file when Emily stopped you. Her hand resting on your forearm gently, her eyes meeting your own.
“I have to go drop this file off, let me take yours.”
“Oh, Emily it’s okay. I can take them.” You moved to grab her file.
“Girl, it’s okay…I know how hard he is on you.” Emily stood, patted your shoulder and took the files to Hotch’s office.
--
Things had been like this pretty much since the moment you’d joined the BAU. For whatever reason, everyone on the team had just assumed that you and Hotch hated each other…that you two couldn’t even be in the same room as one another without fighting. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.
See, what the team didn’t know was that Aaron and you were engaged. The two of you were dating even before you had joined the BAU. You had been working with a different team within the FBI, having a background in behavior analysis…moving to the BAU when a spot opened up, that just made sense.
Aaron and you had agreed to keep things strictly professional at work to avoid any discomfort within the workplace. Apparently that choice was now biting you in the ass.
Working with profilers, you’d think the secret of your relationship would have come out a long time ago, that being said, doesn’t mean there haven’t been some close calls.
--
This had started early on in you career with the BAU. Aaron had avoided pairing the two of you together, simply to avoid any suspicion of your relationship. The team, however, took this as him not warming up to your presence on the team.
Then it was him “benching” you. Aaron for a period of time had kept you in the local precincts on cases, you knew this was because he was worried about you getting hurt, but the team saw this as him questioning your abilities. They all reassured you that you were an asset to the team, more than capable in the field. Morgan had gone as far as confronting Aaron about the way he was mistreating you.
What really sealed this theory in your teammate’s heads was the way Aaron and you sparred. During debriefings the two of you would go back and forth through numerous theories, jabbing at one another for how “ridiculous” the other one was being. While to the team this looked argumentative…it really was how the two of you were, always pushing one another, wanting them to be the best they can be. Unafraid to challenge one another.
Everything was different after that. The team worked overtime to keep things light when the two of you were around one another. They would step into conversations, inserting themselves when it wasn’t necessary. They would jump in and offer to pair with one of you, so you’d never be stuck one-on-one.
At first you found it kind of funny, laughing internally at their crazy antics, but now that you were engaged, it was getting increasingly annoying. You’d just wanted some alone time with your fiancé and they were making it impossible.
--
You had gone to get a fresh cup of coffee to help you get through the remainder of your paperwork. Upon entering the kitchenette, you came face to face with your fiancé.
“Hey sweetheart.” He quietly greeted.
“Hi hon.” You smiled.
Aaron passed you a cup of coffee before moving to fill a second one for himself. He’d been this way since the beginning, always putting you first no matter what. You offered him thanks and stood with him for a moment, enjoying the proximity.
“I got a call earlier from the florist, she sent over the invoice. I also sent the deposit to the caterer this morning.” You informed.
“For the flowers, peonies right? Did you decide on pink or whi-”
“Everything okay in here?” Morgan bounded into the kitchenette. “You guys look tense…please tell me you weren’t fighting again.”
“Nope, everything is good! I was just heading back to my desk.” You said before making your exit.
--
The next slip up was while away on a case. You had been with Derek interviewing someone that happened to be the unsub, only you hadn’t been aware of that going in.
He had pulled a knife and moved quickly, leaving you with a nasty stab to the gut. You were lucky that it hadn’t hit anything major. You’d waved Derek off, telling him to go after the unsub.
After apprehending the guy, Derek made his way back to you to check in and make sure you were okay. He had called the team and for a medic, not leaving your side.
When Aaron showed up he was livid. The team took that as anger for your “mistake”, not realizing that his anger was directed toward himself – he was beating himself up for having sent you in there, putting you in this situation.
He rode with you in the ambulance to the hospital…giving the rest of the team time to talk about how he was probably reprimanding you. But once again, it couldn’t have been further from the truth. He had held you hand and reassured you the whole way to the hospital.
The team met him there and waited by his side as you were tended to. And when the doctor came out and called your name, asking for family, Aaron didn’t hesitate to rise to his feet, barely catching himself and mentally correcting fiancé to boss.
--
After that, the team did everything they could to keep the two of you separated or at least had someone with you to act as a buffer. It was becoming exhausting – you’d been trying to give Aaron an update about some stuff for the wedding and you just couldn’t get the chance.
The two of you would end up rapidly firing through topics once you arrived home for the evening, trying to catch one another up on wedding tasks, work tasks, and just everyday things.
“Aaron…have you thought about how much easier things would be if we just told the team about us?”
“Yes I have. Why do you ask?” He admitted.
“Just, well…they’ve been annoying lately.” You huffed. “I don’t mean to sound rude, you know I love them. But they just won’t quit, I can’t get even a second alone with you at work and it is getting ridiculous.”
“You’re right. When you were in the hospital last month, I almost let it slip in front of them. If it’s what you want, let’s tell them.” Aaron agreed.
And thus began your planning of how you’d tell the most oblivious group of profilers that the two of you didn’t hate each other but were actually engaged to be married.
--
It took about a week and a half before you could officially tell the team your little secret. You had been waiting for your invitations to come in so you could hand deliver a few to your team…it would be the perfect announcement.
“Round table in five.” Aaron called out into the bullpen.
“Shit…he seems pissed.” Emily hissed.
You couldn’t help but giggle, knowing full well he was anything but pissed. Emily and you went and collected everyone, bringing them to the round table. There were hushed whispers about what this could be about, and when Penelope mentioned there wasn’t a new case, you could feel the anxiety filling the room.
--
Aaron made his way in, his hands holding a neat stack of pale pink envelopes. You couldn’t help but notice the way he commanded a room, his mere presence demanding the attention of those around him. This is what had initially drawn you to him all those years ago.
“I have something for each of you. I’d like you to wait to open them until everyone has one.” Aaron announced.
He passed them out one by one, the room remaining silent the entire time. It didn’t take long for everyone to notice that you were the only one who didn’t receive an envelope.
“Hotch man, if this is some kind of sick power move then I swear I will-” Derek began.
“Please, open them.” You spoke before standing up and making your way to Aaron’s side.
Confusion painted its way across everyone’s faces. Hands working quickly to open the envelopes they’d been handed. You were shaking with anticipation, and you couldn’t help the little smirk that made its way to your lips when the confusion was quickly replaced with shock.
“I’m sorry…what?” Penelope asked.
“What the hell is this?” Derek questioned.
Everyone began talking at once, talking about whether or not this was a joke. Asking if one another knew, and how long this had been going on.
“Guys!” You called. “Aaron and I have been together for a few years, well before I started with the BAU. We got engaged about seven months ago…and well, we’d love it if you all would be there for us.” You smiled.
“I KNEW IT!” Rossi laughed. “I told you all from the beginning that they didn’t hate one another, they love each other, and you all swore that they hated each other.”
--
Four months later, the BAU team stood by your sides as you said your vows and committed yourselves to one another.
And while the team dynamic shifted slightly with them knowing the two of you are together, and with there being two Agent Hotchners now, the one thing that didn’t change was that this team was family and you all were there for one another no matter what.
