Sunshine Sachs must've called in a LOT of favors to get so many famous names on board the Archetypes Podcast and the 40x40 project. Vanity projects that went... nowhere.
Without Sunshine Sachs, IMO it's highly unlikely that M will ever be able to reach the same level of celebrity access on her own.
If there are any names missing from these lists, please comment below 👇

Chef Hob's family and the food truck's origin story
Hob is half-English and half-Indian. His father, Mr. Gadling, is from London. His mother, Mrs. Dandekar-Gadling, is from Mumbai. Hob was born in the UK.
Unfortunately, Hob was orphaned at an early age. And since his father had no remaining living relatives, (his paternal grandparents died a long time ago and his father was an only child), Hob was taken in by his maternal uncle's family in Mumbai.
His uncle, Sanyam Dandekar, is the current head of the family-owned and operated restaurant in Mumbai. It's small but thriving, and is well-regarded in the community. As the restaurant is on the ground floor of the building where the Dandekar family live, it's hard to escape the tantalizing smell of food wafting constantly from below.
It's from Sanyam that Hob learns to love food, to cook well, and to love making people happy through his cooking.
His aunt, Priya, always encourages him to go after his dreams. She was there for him every step of the way when he applied for a scholarship to go to a fancy culinary school in the UK. When he was accepted, she was the first person he told the news to, and she was so proud of him that she immediately called up her friends to share the good news with them. (Hob had had to endure maybe half a dozen aunties trying to introduce him to their daughters and nieces.)
His female cousins, Kala and Daya, love Hob very much and treat him as their older brother.
Kala has always been very intelligent even as a child, and she got bullied for it at school. Hob was quick to put an end to that and told her to reach even higher so she can leave everyone in the ground while she sails among the stars. Kala shyly told him she would build a spaceship for their entire family so she wouldn't have to sail the stars alone.
Daya was the more easy-going sister. She tried her best to teach Hob to dance, and never made fun of him even when he eventually accepted that he had two left feet. When she was rejected by a boy who told her she was so ugly that she'll never find anyone who'll love her, Hob got in trouble for beating the shit out of him, but he has no regrets about it. (Kala did not get in trouble for setting the boy's schoolbag on fire because she didn't get caught.)
Hob was so afraid when he found out that he was bisexual, but his family accepted him and treated him the same as they always did. His aunt Priya even promised not to matchmake him with anyone even though he's such a catch. They'll all just wait and see who he brings home. No judgment or pressure whatsoever.
He misses them fiercely when he gets to the UK. Especially when Kala gets married and he couldn't travel back because he had back-to-back exams, both theoretical and practical.
Still, he pushes himself to study hard, graduates with distinction, and eventually becomes a professional chef at a fancy hotel.
Hob's family are very proud of him and always call him to tell him so. Daya begs him to return and cook for them. Hob says he's still saving up enough vacation days. Rajan, Kala's husband and the current CEO of a major pharmaceutical company, offers to pay for his transportation. He graciously accepts because he's not an idiot.
After a couple of years, he finally accumulated enough vacation days to travel back to India for a long visit. The first thing he did is to cook a feast for his family (which now includes Rajan). He cooks traditional Indian food as well as food from other countries that he thinks they'll like.
(He adjusts the recipes to fit into their religion-based dietary restrictions, and adjusts some more when some ingredients are not readily available. He's a professional chef, after all.)
Daya is all about the taiyaki. Kala is in love with the vegetable lumpia. Rajan has strategically rearranged the dishes on the table so the plate of jollof rice is always close to him. Priya asks him to give his uncle his recipe for the vegetable moussaka. Sanyam is in tears because of how proud he is of Hob and how delicious everything is. He tells Hob that when he dies (far, far into the future), Hob is welcome to take over the restaurant.
Hob spends most of his time in India in the restaurant's kitchen with his uncle, and they experiment and add new things to the menu. Hob gets to talk to customers he's known ever since he was a child. They are all very proud of him and sing praises for the restaurant's new menu items.
Hob leaves India a month later with a much lighter heart.
When he returns to being a chef in the fancy hotel though, he finds that he is increasingly frustrated and unsatisfied. He feels like he should be happy and grateful. Instead he feels burned out.
He calls Kala, who is the closest to him age-wise, for advice. She simply asks him, "What do you want?"
He sighs and says, "I thought I wanted to be a chef. But now that I am one, I feel lost."
Silence. Then Kala says, "May I say something potentially controversial and not have you hang up on me?"
Hob chuckles and tells her to go ahead and say what she needs to say. In fact, maybe he needs to hear the potentially controversial thing to snap him out of this wretched state.
"I don't think you really want to be a chef."
Wow. "So far, so bad. Go on."
"No, listen: you have always loved cooking for us. You and dad. It's how you show your love. But where you're working currently, it's like you're a machine. Day in and day out, you're just completing orders. How many times since you started working there did you go out of the kitchen to talk to the guests? How often do you get to experiment with new culinary creations without anyone trying to stifle your creativity?"
Kala's tone implied that she knew the answer. "You might say that it will get worse before it gets better, but will it really? If I ask you now what your happiest memory is of your workplace, what will you tell me?"
"I--" Hob clears his throat and blinks away the tears that had snuck up on him. "When the hotel called me to tell me they had accepted my application. I immediately called home and all of you were so proud of me. I even heard Uncle announcing it to the entire restaurant in the background."
"Oh, Hob..." And now Kala sounded like she was gonna cry too. "I wish I were there so I can give you a hug."
"Virtual hug accepted. Is that the end of your controversial pep talk or is there more?"
"I think that's enough controversial things for now," Kala says. "Rajan and I are going to London in a couple of weeks for pleasure. We should meet up so you can show us all the good spots to eat at and then we can talk more."
They said their goodbyes soon after. Hob spends a lot of time that night just looking at the ceiling, not wanting to go to work but inevitably has to when his alarm goes off.
Kala was right. Being a chef granted him all sorts of qualifications and symbolized that he is a master in the field, but he isn't in it for the title. His uncle isn't a professional chef, yet Hob wouldn't claim to surpass his skills. And between the two of them, he knows who the happier one is.
Rajan and Kala arrived with a couple of bodyguards named Vikram and Wolfgang. Hob remembers them from his visit to India. Vikram is as stoic as bodyguards come, but Wolfgang has a different, more dangerous kind of intensity.
Hob shows them all the good dining spots he has discovered over the years, and all five of them eat well.
It was during their outing that Hob notices the food vendors on the street. They look...happy. They work just as hard as the other chefs in the hotel, with the main difference being that the customers are right in front of them, and they get to see their reactions.
It was very heartwarming to see tourists trying the local street food and seeing their faces light up after their first bite.
At the end of the day, Hob tells Kala of his food truck idea. It's almost embarrassing how excited he sounds, but Kala is excited too. She grabs Rajan and tells him about it. Rajan grabs Wolfgang and asks him about it. Hob almost expects Wolfgang to grab Vikram too, but Vikram just looks on, looking amused.
In the end, Wolfgang shrugs and says it's doable, and just like that, they're drawing plans and trying to come up with names.
("What about 'Gadling's'?"
Kala hummed. "I guess...I mean, that is your name. No one can argue that."
"I feel like you just insulted me, my father, and my paternal ancestors."
"Hob, our family restaurant's name is Dandekar. We are all basic here.")
("Glad Tidings?"
Wolfgang huffed a laugh. "No, Rajan."
"I think it's a good name."
"I think you need to go to sleep. How many hours has it been since you slept? Forty-eight?"
"Are you the sleep police now, my wolf?"
"Kala, I'm taking Rajan to bed."
"Alright," Kala says distractedly. She is currently looking at the kitchen plans, specifically the stove set-up. "Have fun. Don't hog all the blankets."
Hob's eyebrows have migrated to the ceiling. He doesn't think they quite know what they let slip, but he isn't going to pry until they're ready to talk to him about it. He looks at Vikram to see his reaction, but the man just looks like this is a thing that happens often and isn't bothered in the slightest.)
They videocall six people all over the world--mutual friends, Kala says--and all of them put their heads rogether to make Hob's food truck idea into a reality.
Hob is overwhelmed by their support. Rajan has promised to fund everything if Hob lets him eat for free when he's in town. Sun from Korea seconds him and agrees to lend monetary support as well, and to help him expand to Korea if the venture is successful. Capheus, the matatu driver from Nairobi, is flying to London to help customize the food truck. If possible, he sounds even more excited than Hob himself. Nomi from San Francisco and Will from Chicago volunteers to get the papers and forms sorted. Actual famous actor Lito Rodriguez from Mexico promises to promote his foodtruck when he goes to London to shoot a movie.
"When and where did you meet and befriend all these people?" Hob asks Kala. They all sounded like old friends and had inside jokes that Hob didn't understand. (What in the world is a tequila-squared?) Kala just smiles at him and says, "The internet exists for a reason, you know."
"Let me guess," Hob said in a low voice so the others won't hear. "An online dating site?"
Kala shrieks with laughter and hits him with a throw pillow.
Soon, the food truck is ready and Hob is in awe of everyone who pitched in and helped. He literally could not have achieved this so quickly without any of them.
Kala hugs him tight. "You deserve to be happy, Hob."
Hob hugs her back. Every person they videocalled (and Wolfgang's brother Felix) is coming to visit with their plus ones and twos to try out Hob's menu to taste-test before opening, and will stay until the grand opening a week later to help in promoting the foodtruck. They even have Riley from Iceland going to DJ for them.
"Should we invite aunt and uncle and Daya?"
"Do you really think we could stop them if they want to be here?" Kala asks him incredulously. "Have you met our sister?"
Hob has handed in his resignation notice as soon as the food truck's kitchen had been operational. That had been two weeks ago. He feels like a huge burden has been lifted from his shoulders the moment the e-mail was sent.
It can only get better from here.
--
P.S. I'm basic as hell at naming, so if you have ideas on what Hob's food truck should be called, speak now or forever hold your peace.
#Chef Hob AU#minor spoilers for Sense8!#you read that right#it suddenly became sort of a Sense8 crossover because I owe Sanyam Dandekar my first exposure to Indian food#gods bless him honestly#he'll be a good uncle and role model for young Chef!Hob#I will have a Rajan-Kala-Wolfgang throuple as a treat to myself#if Amanita can have 3 dads so can Kala's future children have 2#this is still a no powers AU though#dreamling#the sandman#sense8#my writing

🍨What Flavor Cookie are you based on the BAKER ASTEROID? PT.2 🍡
🧁BAKER ASTEROID◇◇ 《2549》🧁
🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮
DESCRIPTION: The baker asteroid is said to be the bakers asteroid for baked goods and even bakers themselves.
🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁
Baker in Libra/7th house: I just get a loving vibe from this placement, either baker in libra likes to bake for their partner or your partner bakes for you( especially if it's in the 7th house) you could sell baked foods because libra does rule over merchandise and businesses. Venus influencing this y'all could have very beautiful techniques when baking especially if you decorate your cakes, cookies, etc. this placement has the ability to get very creative as well. I feel like y'all baking can be very good but kinda on the healthier side as well. Also y'all could actually have a bakery store
Cookie: canestrelli cookies// madeleine cookies
Baker in Scorpio//8th house: imma keep it real this could go 1 of 2 ways y'all might either be a good or bad baker that's just what I was called to say. Or you could be good but you guys might add some sort of knowledge that you have leared abou/ baking or edgy touch into your baking. This could be a hidden talent you have. Unless this is in a certain house or sign it could vary. In the 8th house, I would definitely say like a hidden talent. A gift you inherited from your ancestors this could get really spiritual or occultic. Also you could constantly be burning your baked goods. But don't get me wrong here y'all food definitely could be very good just a little over cooked . I have this placement in the 8th house and I like baked sweets soft but a tad burnt. Y'all cookie will be interesting to come up with.
Cookie: white chocolate red velvet cookies/ brown butter Carmel cookie
Baker in Sagittarius/9th house: its kinda giving foreign baking vibes like y'all take recipes from foreign cultures. Very adventurous with your baking style. Exspansive flavourrrrrr 🤤, y'all give me professional chef/ baker vibes here . Blessed in baking, might even go to school for baking or travel to learn about baking. I feel like y'all can become experts in baking. My little alchemists got the perrrrfect recipes to make your tastebuds explode!
Not really a cookie but they're good asf : Galab jamun/Big Blue Monster stuffed cookie (he he he he 😉)
Baker in Capricorn/10th house : now if baker is in the SIGN Capricorn I feel like y'all baking can be good but very old school if you look at your cookie you'll see what I mean. If it's in the 10th house this could be your career or just something your known for. Baker here it may have taken you some time to master baking. But I feel like Capricorn/10th house could make some good bakers. Depending on aspects, degrees, house, signs it will vary. But like I said very old fashion but good. If it's badly aspected, I feel like the baking might be a little dry or brittle. But all in all you could be a professional baker.
Cookie: oatmeal raisins/loornadoone/ snicker doodle
Baker in Aquarius/11th house: Eccentric, creative, different. Aquarius can blow some minds away or may be horrible. (depending on aspects don't beat me up😓) . I feel like y'all a little spicy/tangy it's giving lemon meringue or like y'all the type to mix pb&j into a cookie or sum like that. This placement as well could make you very popular for your cooking online. Friends may know how to bake. Baking may even be a dream. You guys as well could have a bakers blog or just be popular on social media for that.
Cookie: churro chocolate stuffed cookies/ pb& j cookies
Baker in Pisces/12th house: it's either lost or it's found here, y'all have it all or nothing. You either can bake your a$$ off or not. If you happen to be a good one then I feel like your really good you definitely could have the ability to heal others through your baking. But also since Neptune is here and Neptune rules 🍷🍺🥃💊🚬 there's a possibility of **cough cough** (edib----🌿🌿) im just being mindful if there's any kids reading this. These bakers could make comfort foods. Maybe even holistic, chemical free baked foods. I feel like this placements food could taste good and take your your taste buds to outerspace. 🤗😇
Cookies: raspberry swirl cream cheese cookie/ cosmic brownie cookies

How do you tell/deduce if someone is a chef
Especially the hands are a good place for deductions if someone is a chef. For example chefs tend to have very clean and well kept hands, with short nails, no nail polish and mostly no rings or other decorations that could be a hiding and breeding place for bacteria and dirt, which could then be transferred to the food, which would be a significant risk for food safety. Hair and beard are often also kept short or in a ponytail, otherwise they have to wear hairnets. Also their habits like repeated handwashing and hygiene habits could represent their profession, but alternatively could also be someone in healthcare.
The most telling would be that they themselves could smell like food if they are spending most of their time in the kitchen, surrounded with the steam of the cooking and the olfactory molecules of the food which then cling to the skin and hair. You can also tell what exactly they are mainly preparing if you can determine the smell. Often covered in grease if they work with the fryer, smelling smokey if they work the grill, and especially onions and garlic is a smell hard to get rid of especially on their hands where they directly handled and touched the food. A pâtisserie chef will smell different than someone who fries onions and meat all day. They can also smell like specific spices that could indicate certain foods, for example if they cook in an indian restaurant. Some foods can also stain the hands, e.g. curcuma stains hands a bright yellow.
Burns or cuts on their hands from mistakes while cooking, or general thickened skin because repeated exposure to heat.
Another very telling indicator is a knife callus on the lower part of their dominant hand’s pointer finger where they control the knife, most chefs who have done the job for a significant amount of time have this callus.
How they handle certain utensils like knives could also be a clue, whether they are able to cut professionally or like an amateur, how they hold forks and spoons. Another indicator for working in gastronomy in general is if people can carry several glasses or plates at once, how well they can balance without dropping anything.
And of course the easiest would be if you see them in their chef uniform or work clothes, then you don't need to be a genius to deduce their occupation.

My friends think we’re dating
For the past few months, Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy had traipsed all over muggle London taking in its food scene from familiar Parisian cuisine to the pungent spices of takeout Indian, and even to American pizza that Draco simultaneously loved and hated for its greasiness. Theirs was the tentative start of a friendship between former enemies now coworkers. When the Malfoy heir expressed curiosity at her lunch one day, a plate of Pad Kee Mao, she discovered his appallingly limited palate, one accustomed to the whimsy of house elves and professional chefs. He laughed in disbelief at the idea of street food, and at first didn’t believe her that entire night markets existed for the pleasure of eating. So Hermione took it upon herself to introduce him a couple of times a week to something new—for his own personal growth, of course. The change in her schedule didn’t go unnoticed. “My friends think we’re dating.” Draco’s hand froze momentarily before resuming its movement towards the box of doughnuts between them. He carefully plucked a powdery white one from the side and considered the dark red ooze at its tip before taking a small bite of the confection. How he could gracefully eat a powdered jelly doughnut without a single spot or smear afterward, Hermione could not for the life of her figure out. “Is that a problem?” Cool grey eyes probed into hers after he finished his last, impeccable bite. “Isn’t it for you? Putting aside the fact that we’re just friends and you don’t even like me like that.” Her words trailed off near the end, and she picked up her coffee mug to nervously sip at the now lukewarm beverage. She grimaced at the bitterness of the over-extracted beans. Draco smirked at her reaction and placed a few packets of creamer in front of her. “This is why I suggested we get our coffee elsewhere, Granger. Everyone knows the coffee at doughnut shops is absolute shite.” He tilted his head as he watched her tear open and pour a couple into her mug before continuing. “And what if I do like you like that?” Thunk. Creamy brown liquid sloshed over the rim and she cursed as she fluttered around for napkins to clean up the spill. “Don’t tease me like that, Malfoy!” “I promise you, I’ve never been more serious. I do. Like you like that.” With a wordless wave of his hand, the mess on the table vanished. He then reached across and threaded his fingers with hers. Hermione stared at their hands before taking a deep breath to somehow steady the pulse threatening to beat right out of her chest. A chuckle coupled with his thumb rubbing a warm trail across her knuckles left her breathless in anticipation. He let go of her and before she could protest, he picked up her sad excuse of a coffee and drained it all. “I thought these meet-ups were purely educational? Just a step towards your muggle knowledge? Also, why did you drink my coffee?” She waved her hands first at the pastel pink box and coffee mug, voice far more shrill than she’d like to admit. “Yes, I do appreciate these forays into the muggle food scene, but there is and has always been an ulterior motive, Hermione.” The switch to her given name had her gaping in the most adorable manner, and he couldn’t resist his follow-up question, one he’d been waiting to ask but now felt appropriate given her friends’ meddling. “Would you date me? And hopefully not long after, allow me to court you?” “I—I suppose that would be—yes, I’d like to—” without even waiting for her to finish, he swept her up with him as he stood, shrunk the rest of the doughnuts in their box to place in his pocket, and made for the exit. “Excellent. There’s a lovely little coffee shop we can go to wash out this swill.” His hand grasped hers tightly, but his pace measured a gait to match her smaller one. “What, so now you’re educating me on muggle coffee?” She had recovered her composure enough to tease him with a light nudge to his elbow, and he cast an appreciate grin down at her before wrapping an arm tightly around her at the apparition point. “Yes, and on so much more.” ---
Note: I absolutely suck at brevity. I know Drabbles are supposed to be short, but I find it nearly impossible to keep my scenes sub-500, much less 100. Practice makes perfect?

Incredibox is my SHIT bro. Do you have a favorite version, mod, polo, etc?
OH BOY where do i even start kfdgjh words can't describe how good that game is and i just wanna talk about everything i love about it lmao (this ask activated the silly part of my brain)
short answer: my favorite versions are Sunrise, Jeevan and Wekiddy, fave mod is The Last Day and my absolute fave Polos are ASAP Bee and Big Duke
long answer (i'm sorry i need to gush about my bois):
it's hard for me to choose THE Favorite song. Sunrise used to be my number one but then Wekiddy came and tried to take its place xD (i think i might lean towards it, i love the aesthetic, i love the sounds and nothing in V9 is a miss for me, every sound combination is top tier). Jeevan is also absolutely amazing. just *chef's kiss*. but i love every version, they all have something great about them
i love how diverse Sunrise and Wekiddy are in their sounds and designs. Wekiddy also feels a little nostalgic since i love stuff from the 80's/90's (tfw you're nostalgic for the times when you were a toddler or weren't even born yet)
when it comes to mods, i'm generally not super crazy about them, there's a few that i think are very good and i like them a lot but i'm very biased towards the official stuff. which is also why The Last Day and Veda are the ones i like the most (Mr Polo's music is just too good), especially The Last Day. it's awesome. to me it feels like V10 lmao it's so damn professional. everything in that mod sounds good
this babe is my favorite from that mod, all of tumblr and twitter knows i'm silly for the guy dkfgjh
and here's my favorite guys from the official versions :D (i put the guys i love the most in the middle lol)
the moment i saw the silly indian man i burst out laughing and he's been my fave in v3 ever since
not enough slots to show you all of my favorite guys in this song i swear
if you got to the end of this, congratulations, i hope you enjoyed reading it :')

so i'm watching this indian variety show called laughter chef, very trashy, very indian, just a bunch of renown indian tv celebs trying to cook except they're all TERRIBLE at it and end up making shitty stuff that a professional chef has to eat and evaluate. i'll be doing some occasional commentary since a) i'm not really watching anything else b) it's quite fun and one of the nicest things itv has done in the last 10 years maybe ?? although it has certain questionable elements which ... well it's ok, you can't expect an itv product to be non-questionable.
i'll start by saying that arjun bijlani needs to take his foot off my neck because those outfits are going to be the end of me !! this week's blue suit and the pathaan fit were so immaculate TT also are you telling me he's hot, short AND can cook ?? that's the perfect man your honour. also that man could flirt with a rock if given a chance, i LOVE THIS TYPE OF MENNN OMG
not really rooting for any couple, but i like some individuals like arjun, reem and ankita (ah !! scandal alert, i know she's not well-liked due to big boss but i haven't watched it, i don't care about the general opinion on her. she's fun, she's quirky, she'll yell at everyone and anyone and tolerates a man-child of a husband. enough elements for me to like her). also rahul is kinda cute, they should let my boy speak sometime TT
the nia-sudesh segments need to be either cut out or drastically reduced, they're both unbearable and the edits are terrible
episode 13 had kashmira breaking down due to krishna, honestly their couple dynamics are so emblematic of what it means to be in an indian marriage. krishna does nothing at all, nor he knows the basics of cooking or just ANYTHING in general, but since he's more successful than her (or at least that's what he thinks), he gets the free pass to portray kashmira as a dumb woman who can't even distinguish masale (spoiler alert, he doesn't know either). she gets all sorts of names, while also being the only one that's actually cooking or at least trying to do so. she puts in all the efforts and ultimately her husband downplays that as well because the outcomes aren't very good. girl you should run if you ask me.

ROTTMNT x SR:US Crossover Human AU: Basics Intro
Bruh I keep making drabbles and oneshots within my own rottmnt x samurai rabbit human AU but never post any actual info or “lore” but it’s cus idk how to start?? Soooo I guess this’ll be like the concept plan? Idk I’ll just try to make this look organized so I can introduce the world I’m always writing about ε-(∀`; )
AU Name: Crazy Little Thing Called Life
AU Summary: Take Rise TMNT and Samurai Rabbit into a crossover world where they’re just normal human people with no magic or mystics, just living and experiencing this crazy little thing called life (hehe) and just go through normal human things.
Characters (Older Adults): Splinter (Hamato Yoshi), Big Mama (Adeline Desir), Baron Draxum (Berry Powell), Usagi’s Auntie (Shimada Noriko), Hueso (Jacinto Gerrero-Vazquez), Foot Lieutenant (Fukunaga Kenji) Foot Recruit Brute (Tsuchida Kazou)
*sidenote that bc I’m making all the non-humans, well…human (:p) I’m giving them full names bc I’m extra like that so what’s in parentheses is what their names will be in my fanfics*
Characters (teens/young adults): April O’ Niel, Cassandra “Casey” Jones, Sunita (Sunita Modi), Gen (Murakami Gennosuke), Chizu (Ogawa Chizu) Kitsune (Shimada Kitsune), Yuichi Usagi, Frida/Venus (Frida Hamato), Raph, (Raphael Hamato), Leo (Leonardo Hamato), Donnie (Donatello Hamato), Mikey (Michelangelo Hamato), Mona Lisa (Mona Keke)
Race/Ethnicity
Bruh so this is kinda embarrassing but my brain got scrambled really bad every time I tried to organize it so I’ll just tell you guys in paragraph form (´ω`)
Starting off on the ROTTMNT side, the Hamato kids are blasian but only Raph, Mikey and Frida are half Haitian since I’m making Big Mama Haitian but Donnie and Leo aren’t since their bio mom was born in the U.S. Splinter is still Japanese lol and Draxum is Native American, specifically Cherokee. Hueso is Mexican and born in Yucatán (I will not elaborate any further or else I’ll never post this thing bc I’ll over complicate my answer), Casey is wasian with her mom being Japanese and her dad being a white American and Foot Lieutenant and Brute are her gay uncles and they’re Japanese too but Brute’s been in the US way longer than Lieutenant, April stays the same as a Black American and Sunita is blasian as her dad’s also a black American but her mom is Indian. Mona will also be in and I’m writing her as Polynesian Hawaiian.
Now with the Samurai rabbit side. This is pretty easy since they’re all Japanese BUT Chizu is half Filipino, Gen has Polynesian roots from his dad’s side and Kitsune is Ainu which is a small indigenous group in the north side of Japan. Usagi, his aunt, Hana and Kiyoko are mainlanders so they’re pretty “average” I suppose you can say even though it feels icky saying that given Japan got their issues when it comes to people they don’t deem as Japanese
Relationships
*adding deets on Splinter and his relationships bc it’s relevant for my new fanfic so I’m his is the one I’m only gonna reveal for now. But also I have another fanfic that’s set within this AU brewing in my head actually so what I wrote for Lieutenant and Brute is for future use*
Yoshi/Big Mama (past)
Legally married for nearly a decade but close to the end of their marriage they (more so Big Mama) opened their relationship so they could see/be with other people if they wanted to (Yoshi only saw 1 person and it led to Leo and Donnie to be conceived lmao)
Biological parents of Frida, Raph, and Mikey
Met the same way as they did in canon
Few years down the road Big Mama would later became Splinter’s boss for a bit since she got a huge promotion to be his manager (she’s just that girl ✨💵✨)
Were on bad terms for a while but for the sake of the kids learned to be civil with each other so they could healthily co-parent
Yoshi/Draxum (Current)
Started off as just a professional relationship as Yoshi hired Berry to be his personal chef since he was pretty much on his own taking care of the tots and cooking wasn’t really his specialty (spoiler, Berry wasn’t good at it either) and one thing lead to another and somehow Berry just stuck to the Hamatos since the tots saw him as their 2nd dad
They don’t want to label what they got going on but they do be cuddling each other most sometimes in bed
Homosexuals indeed
Yoshi/Dona (Past)
Had a rough introduction at the library after accidentally bumping into her and making her spill her coffee onto her shirt. She didn’t like that at all that it took nearly 2 months for her to forgive him
Started as just library buddies until she invited him out clubbing and then after series of events ended up in a friends with benefits type relationship
They were 30 and 29 when they had Leo and Donnie; Dona would’ve also been 30 if she hadn’t died a month before her birthday :( (yes I’m evil)
A lot of their hangouts consisted of them staying inside Dona’s studio, drink wine or smoke herb and vent about their childhood trauma with Depeche Mode or The Cranberries playing in the background
Yoshi didnt know Dona was pregnant until five months into her pregnancy when she finally confessed to him because she initially didn’t want to keep them but had no choice because she didn’t know she was even pregnant until she suddenly felt really sick and after a trip to the doctors found out she already close to her 2nd trimester already so she couldn’t get an abortion even if she wanted to.
There’s a lot more drama with them but I’ll just reveal that stuff in my future fics
In conclusion. Yoshi just has a thing for pretty and intelligent people who are mean to him and I think he’s so real for that 👍
Foot lieutenant/Foot brute
Met at a underground rock show in New York, (brute made the first move lol)
Moved into a studio together 3 years down the road and dated a year later
Initially took Casey in for a bit when she was 6 due to her and her parents rocky relationship but would officially gain guardianship over her 2 years later she threatened to run away if she went back with her parents
Younger couples included in this AU so far
April/Casey/Sunita
Raph/Mona
Donnie/Kendra
Donnie/Jonathan
Leo/Usagi
Kitsune/Chizu
And that’s pretty much it for now, geez I can’t believe I had this drafted for a whole 4 months :;(∩´﹏`∩);:

On prague and food
Places to eat in Prague, curated by a local. All of them located in a neatly small radius and all great for taking a break from all the czech restaurants wannabe that only look to capitalize on tourists.
I am not a food blogger. And don't aim at becoming one, even though there is an incentive to commence composing a cookbook. I actually promised a friend of mine that I would post a weekly recipe for him this year but as you may check on my BigOven profile, it did not really follow suit. Yet. What is important, though, is the place I made this promise. Whenever he comes over to Prague from his new home city, that is Glesga, it is my task to find the right place for a catch-up early dinner. It is difficult to find decent restaurant in the Czech metropolis. You mostly encounter the tourist-targeting convention of overpriced meaty dishes infused with salt, our national habit of using pre-made components, or a combination of thereof. The surprise is how many of them are in proximity of a district 2 square, only popular among locals, end even that is limited to the period of Christmas market craze.
Let us check what awaits you at and around Náměstí Míru, then!
When you are looking for Italian, Czech Republic does not have much to offer in terms of authenticity. The Peace Square, as you may translate its name, there are two places that closely adhere to it.
Classic Italian: Grosseto
The more budget-friendly of them, and the only one that serves pizza, is Grosseto. A restaurant so respected that it had become a network with four diners, an Italian imports shop, and its own culinary academy, with both hobbyist and professional classes. Although this particular place is not the one where it all started, you get to experience identical range of Italian classics made to specification set by one of their three star chefs, specialists in their own branch of the cuisine: regional classics, gourmet specials, and pizza. After the standard procedure of table assignment, you sit down in a compact, yet airy, interior, get to observe the passion-driven pizza chef throw dough back and forth, receive international-standard service from the front of house staff, and don't usually have to wait too long before your meal arrives. And that is in spite of all meals, including the specials, being made to order with no shortcuts. The overall experience is pleasant and definitely worth every penny.
Coastal Italian: Aromi
The posh option that emphasises the Italian beyond pizza and pasta is Aromi, led by a chef with Michelin experience, Riccardo Lucque. At the price, you obviously get the level of service where a porter takes care of your coats, sits you down in a spacious interior decorated with original paintings, introuces himself by first name, and remains your server all the way through the experience. There is fresh fish and seafood on display, any item of which you can ask to be made for you in the original fashion or any other way you like. Well, the chefs will obviously give your personal waiter a long stare once he brings in a monkfish to be made into fish and chips. On top of this, there is obviously a short permanent menu, number of seasonal specials, and couple of ready-to-serve lunchtime dishes. Five course menu culminating with Italian small-batch roast coffee is therefore an option. Personally, I would not be able to justify the bill on regular occasion, but I do greatly appreciate what you get for the money. Anniversary, maybe?
Vietnamese: Pho Vietnam Tuan & Lan
This basement bistro is not too well known due the massive competition from their compatriots. See, the Vietnamese to Prague are like the Indians to London or the Moroccans to Paris. This place is however the only one that received endorsement from the nationally established advocates of high gastronomy, namely chef Zdeněk Pohlreich, and mentor Roman Vaněk. While the inconvenient interior and order-at-the-bar approach to service might be an issue to some, the main reason for your visit, food, is authentic and far outweighing the downsides. Starting with a ready made fresh shrimp roll or its fried counterpart stuffed with beef handed over immediately upon your arrival is highly recommended. The two signature dishes here include Phở Bò, an enormous bowl of broth with noodles, boiled beef, and chives, and Bún bò Nam Bộ, an alternative with lower amount of water and greater variety of veggies. Two undisputed upsides of this restaurant is lack of horrible cheap-plastic decorations so typical for Vietnamese restaurants everywhere, and its price level, which is with respect to the amount of food and culinary satisfaction the lowest on this list.
Burger: Dish
It's not like going out for a burger would be something you take an airplane to do, but in case all the new tastes overwhelm you and you just want something familiar, Dish is definitely the place to go. Everything is made to order from fresh ingredients, the patties seem to be made of pure beef and their menu composition just works. And their fries are wonderful. Inside the interior, where you better book table for both lunch and dinner, everything is quite crammed, but that only makes sense, given their popularity, for the sake of which they opened in a second location. Service takes more modern approach and I like to deal with them that way, especially since staying in for a chat after the meal is not something I would prefer, given the acoustic conditions.
Fast Food: Bageterie Boulevard
In case you are just passing and feel like grabbing a quick meal to keep you going through further Prague adventures, check out one of the two nearby outlets of the popular Czech franchise Bageterie Boulevard. The first one is just southeast of the square, while the other, smaller one, is to the west. They offer a wide range of ready made sub fillings with a choice of bread and a menu option that includes portion of baked potatoes and a fresh ice tea. In addition to that, they do a pair of quarterly specials, soup of the day, muffins, and biscuits. There is also a coffee of custom blend on offer, which I prefer avoiding. Nevertheless, the place is wonderful to call at for quick lunch in the house or a takeaway dinner. Since it is a franchise, your choice will taste the same, no matter the location, but you will not be served a stack of prefabricated components.
After you eat: Banyan Tearoom
When I make plans to go out with my friends, we never discuss where to go. Visit to the Banyan tearoom is implied. The routine starts off with a teapot of Touareg and continues with an optional shisha paired with a pick from the menu.
As a souvenir: Book Therapy
And in case you like to cook yourself, I do suggest Book Therapy, where they have a lot of hipster-targeted books including a nice range of regional cuisine cookbooks.

Tha Dhin Tha
This story inspired by the fact that I offhandedly commented on something Neil Gaiman said and he noticed and replied! I have very specific experiences that inform the opinions I have, and below is one of them.
You can't know me for long without finding out that I am a musician. I am very proficient in both Western Classical and Carnatic music. I have sung with a world famous professional orchestra (as part of their choral program) and given multi-hour solo concerts in India. It is perhaps not a surprise that music education was a priority for me when I had kids.
My kids have been learning both Western (European, really) choral music and Carnatic music since they were small. They know a lot of things about both systems. They may not be as serious about it as I am, but they enjoy it. They have brought their knowledge of Carnatic music to their choral groups and talked about it enough that their teachers are aware of their interest. However, the two systems are pretty different, and while many of the fundamentals of pitch and rhythm are the same, there isn't really a good way to cross over from one to the other.
So imagine my surprise one day, when they came home from choir telling me that they were going to be doing Indian music the next semester! I was not consulted, though the director absolutely knew that I am at a semi-professional level. I was very curious as to what it was going to be. In retrospect, I probably should have been more apprehensive. The next update was my kids telling me that they heard a recording of this thing and it did NOT sound like any Indian music they had ever heard before. The director was excited and proud to introduce them to konnakol, the art of vocal percussion. My children were both unimpressed and a little uncomfortable.
The piece was Tha Dhin Tha, written by Lisa Young, an Australian musician who spent some time in India learning about konnakol. It was a typical choral piece, with harmonies typical of western music, but it incorporated a number of elements of konnakol. It was actually reasonably well done and was pretty fun to listen to, but I agreed with my kids - it did not sound like Indian music at all.
The next part of the story was when the director asked me to come to class and talk about Carnatic music. I am of course always happy to talk about my culture. I prepared an informative presentation that explained how harmonies are not a part of Indian music but ornamentation is, that there are four basic rhythm cycles of 3, 5, 7, and 8 that are commonly used, etc. At the end, the director asked for my help in getting the kids to pronounce the words, and I offered a little bit of assistance. I was hoping that with my lecture, the kids and the director would see that the music they are performing was inspired by, but not actually, Carnatic music. She didn't take the hint. At home, my kids said this is making them question every bit of world music that they have ever done. Was any of it even a little authentic? Because this sure wasn't.
When I was talking to my friends about this and how weird and uncomfortable I felt about the whole thing, one of them gave me an analogy that illustrated what was so weird about it. It was as though someone was hosting a Mexican dinner, and made some spaghetti and put a bunch of cumin on and called it Mexican food. And further, that they then asked an actual Mexican chef to come in and talk about Mexican cuisine while the dinner guests were enjoying the food. The food may well be inspired by Mexican flavors, and it may even be good, but it isn't Mexican food and the chef would rightfully feel weird about the situation.
In the end I pretty directly told her that this was not Indian music, and when she finally did introduce the students singing it, she used the terminology I preferred - that it was inspired by konnakol and Carnatic music, not that it actually WAS Carnatic music. And the kids did a good job and all's well that ends well.
Stories like this illustrate how complicated cross-cultural art can be, both from the perspective of labels, and from the perspective of the people who participate. My kids were incredibly uncomfortable being told that they were doing Indian music when they were not (especially because they were put on the spot, being the only kids in the choir who knew anything about Indian music). In this case, I would argue that it was not cultural appropriation, but cultural misrepresentation. Lisa Young, the Australian musician, was not composing Indian music. These choirs are not performing Indian music. And it is fine to take artistic inspiration from India, but actual Carnatic music is an entire system of classical music. Don't pretend that this is somehow Indian, because it simply isn't.

Toonami Weekly Recap 06/03/2023
Dr. Stone: Nerw World (Age of Exploration Arc) EP#36 (01) - The Taste of Failure: Returning from their balloon flight, Senku reveals to Ryusui his plan to construct an oil-powered ship to reach the source of the petrification ray, South America. Before that, they must successfully locate the still existing Sagara Oil Field. Ryusui enthusiastically agrees to help navigate as ship's captain. Realizing their journey across the ocean will require tons of preserved food they use their balloon and search teams on the ground to locate cedar trees for shipbuilding, wild animal herds for hunting, and an entire valley of wheat to make flour. To increase food production Senku introduces crop farming, freeing the village from their reliance on foraging. Taiju, Magma, and Yo take to farming with particular enthusiasm as more food means they can afford to free more statues from petrification. Senku’s first attempt to bake bread is so bad it is practically poisonous, so he and Ryusui agree they must find a professional chef and free them from petrification immediately.
Unicorn: Warriors Eternal EP#06 - The Mystery of Secrets: Following the aftermath of the Octopus monster rampage, the mayor of London demanded Hastings about the incident. Sailor Jim, who was secretly paid from the benefactor, inform them that he spotted a Fox from the dock and located her hideout at the abandoned church. As the Scotland yard arrived at the church, the Evil ambushed them and quickly escape feeling betrayed. The Unicorns tries seek help from the factory on repairing Copernicus but remained helpless. Food Wars: The Fifth Plate (The BLUE Arc) EP#84 (11) - The Taste of Failure: As the match continues, Alice and Hisako bring Azami to the tournament, where he reveals that all of his actions in raising Erina were in an effort to prevent the despair that Mana fell into. Asahi then completes his dish, which is a French basty filled with shark fin soup, Indian spices, and ravioli filled with Turkish dondurma. Asahi's dish impresses the judges and even Mana herself. Soma responds with his own dish, which is fried rice that combines Chinese dongpo pork, Italian acqua pazza, Indian poriyal, French mirepoix, and Turkish pilaf. The judges are shocked at the insane risk Soma took to combine all the various flavors together. Even Mana is shocked by the dish when she realizes Soma used ouef mayonnaise to coat every individual pilaf grain in a thin coat of egg yolk to lock their flavor in. Soma reveals to Asahi that this fried was based on one of his mother's failed dishes that he learned from her, and the one critical element it has that Asahi's dish doesn't is "the taste of failure". Mana ends up being equally impressed with Soma's dish, leaving everybody uncertain on who will be declared the winner.

We are quite excited to host chef, restauranteur,
author, and activist, Meeru Dhalwala, who will share her compelling story of creativity through the lens of June’s global theme ‘reverie’.
Register
Meeru moved from Washington, D.C. to Vancouver in February 1995 and has since been cooking and running the kitchens and menus at Vij’s and Rangoli restaurants. Vij’s has been hailed by the New York Times as “easily among the finest Indian restaurants in the world.” (Rangoli closed after 17 years in May 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Meeru also wrote all three award-winning Vij’s cookbooks.
In 2021, Meeru created a small community business built from her learned ethics in the food industry: My Bambiri (baby) Foods. My Bambiri sources from BC organic farmers and sells on income-based pricing: three price options based on a family’s specific finances. She has also partnered with Food Stash Foundation to sell My Bambiri at their markets for low-income families who face many economic and social barriers. In October 2022, Meeru relaunched her annual international food fair called “Joy of Feeding” that is held at the UBC Farm Centre for Sustainable Food Systems.
Meeru holds a MSc in development studies from Bath University, UK, and brings her passion for humanity into her business and cooking practices. She is one of Vancouver’s most prominent promoters of women in business, climate change and sustainability, and healthy-elegant cooking. She proudly sits on the Board of Directors for the Green Party of Vancouver. For her professional and community work, Meeru has received honorary doctorates from both University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University.
Every month we like to ask our speakers a handful of probing questions to give us a deeper glimpse into their life and relationship with creativity:
How do you define creativity and apply it in your life and career? I imagine and then come up with ideas. Lots of ideas, of which most aren’t realistic, but contribute to the final ideas that I/we can execute. I love the process of ideas popping or slowly coming to form in my head. I love the crazy ideas that are impractical and the ideas that could make stories if I were a novelist. I say the word “IDEA!” in the Vij’s kitchen and staff stops whatever we’re doing, get excited and hear the “IDEA!” Half of them result in all of us just laughing b/c while even saying it, I realize it’s not practical or just sounds silly coming out. My kitchen staff doesn’t rely on me to run the daily kitchen—cooking, ordering, loading, prep, etc.—but they rely on me for my “IDEA!” And if I love my idea, I don’t let it go.
Where do you find your best creative inspiration or energy? From running in my neighborhood—not any neighborhood or trail. Running is combination of my familiar surroundings and my body igniting me—my brain is dancing while my body is doing all the physical work. Whatever is on my mind—whether my family, trying to save some aspect of the environment, imagining being dead, imagining my comfort place on this earth, a work issue, coming up with recipes, etc.—it’s done with abandon while I’m running. Within 10 minutes, I lose myself in imagining, pondering…and daydreaming about my past in relation to today.
What’s one piece of creative advice or a tip you wish you’d known as a young person? Find a solo activity during which you feel abandon and…yes, lose yourself in reverie! I run. All those times when I was crying or stressed about my home life or school life, if I had gone out running and released that stress energy, the weight would have lightened and so many windows would have opened. Doesn’t have to be a physical activity—it can be knitting or drawing.
Who (living or dead) would you most enjoy hearing speak at CreativeMornings? George Eliot or Graca Machel. Intellectually attuned and gracefully passionate, brave women. Middlemarch is still relevant as a compelling storyline and observation on humanity’s social concoctions. Women and children’s rights activist Graca Machel was the First Lady of Mozambique at an important and crucial time. Her husband (the President) was assassinated via a plane crash. Later, she became the First Lady of South Africa, as wife of Nelson Mandela.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done? Fly to Vancouver from Washington D.C. to meet a guy I was talking on the phone with for a month (back in 1994) and, after spending 5 days with him, deciding to marry him asap. I left my hometown, friends and career in human rights and economic development to move to Vancouver. It resulted in a new and completed unexpected career, two beautiful children and 17 years of marriage. I don’t know how, but I grabbed the confidence in love before it escaped in the form of common sense.
If you could open a door and go anywhere, where would that be? My partner is a dry suit (meaning he dives in cold waters) scuba diver and travels to all waters of the world to dive, take photos. His “comfort place” in this world is the silence and being solo under water—complete opposite from mine. He lies there with his camera, watches and waits for creatures to swim, fully in zen mode. This level of silence and alone-ness intimidates and fascinates me. I would LOVE to turn myself into an invisible and weightless being, and be on his shoulder while he does this. I would not want to disturb his zen. For me, this would be like magically living in a dream.
What are you proudest of in your life? Giving motherhood my all, by which I don’t mean just love. The most important moment of my life so far is when I first looked down at my newborn and felt/saw the look in her wide eyes, settling on her mom’s face. I call this “Newborn Eyes”. Newborn Eyes are the energy of my personal life. I’m proud of fully and honestly engaging with my two daughters as humans and not as my extensions. I’m proud of calling them out on their shit and not worrying if they like me or not, or if they’ll rebel. I’m proud that I never stopped being me for the sake of being a mother.
If you could do anything now, what would you do? Have each human above the age of, say 6, in this world watch the animated documentary film “Flee” for its subject matter and b/c its engrossing storytelling. I want all of us watching at the exact same time so we are aware of sharing this experience together, as one. So, a bit of magic or super sci-fi high tech required here. Some of the bravest and most loving people in this world are “refugees” and “migrants”. These are labels for some, but for me they are my mom and dad.
What books made a difference in your life and why? The Employees by Olga Ravn. This book is potentially our real future with real humans co-existing with AI types of humans. It’s beautifully written. It’s a very short book and I read it twice in a row.
