Trump abandoning Ukraine is nothing less than an imbecilic act of cruelty from a scheming, grifting, cowardly old man. More than that, it is potentially the biggest unforced strategic error in US foreign policy since the invasion of Iraq. Just like the invasion of Iraq, this shameful blunder is being done as a favor to the powerful interests who have the president's ear (Russia in this case).

The singular thing guiding Trump is the grift. His presidency exists solely to financially benefit himself, his billionaire class, and his Russian Oligarch pals. The whole of America, particularly any part of it that makes the world a better place, will be stripped and pawned for cash. My heart hurts for Ukraine.
