Low key very tired of people responding to veilguard criticism with something along the lines of “lol these people have no media literacy, didn’t you understand what the game was telling you??” Yes, yes I understand what the game was trying to tell me. That doesn’t mean I have to like it or the way the writers went about it.
Also the whole argument of “well, the dragon age fandom proved they couldn’t handle xyz controversial character/element of the story so that’s why veilguard had very little references to those things” kinda grinds my gears a bit. I don’t think it can be proven with 100% certainty what writing decisions were made based on past fandom reactions to the other games, but I do think it would be an incredibly shitty move to simplify or remove complexity from a story just because there might be a portion of the audience who doesn’t get it. “The fandom couldn’t even handle Vivienne” Yeah a good amount of people dismissed her as a selfish snooty bitch, but I didn’t and a lot of other people didn’t and to remove complex and interesting characters like her on the basis that enough people “won’t get it” just feels like a disservice to all of us.
#datv critical#BioWare critical#listen. I get that video games are products and for a product to sell more it’s gotta have mass appeal#and to have mass appeal it’s gotta cater to a wider audience#so yeah maybe simplifying things and removing controversy is good for the bottom line#but as an appreciator of art and good storytelling it just wounds my soul a bit lmao#also even if you’re afraid your audience won’t get something#wouldn’t it be better to present the more complex versions of things on the off chance some people grow and learn from it??#maybe some people will encounter something that makes them uncomfy#and if you give them a chance to just SIT. WITH. IT. something interesting and new can come of it#idk!!!!#don’t mind me yelling into the void over here

one interesting aspect of percy and rachel's relationship that isn't often highlighted is how empathetic percy must have been toward rachel about seeing through the mist as a small child. because percy was the kid who saw a man with one eye stalking him at the local playground. the kid who saw a horse with wings resting atop the roof of a nearby building. the kid who was nearly killed by a fury disguised as his algebra teacher. and the kid who understood what if felt like to distrust the world around him, to be reprimanded for falling victim to the fear that accompanied it. if it was anything that percy offered rachel. it was the grace of understanding a uniquely mortal experience.
#i hold their friendship so near to my heart#it was such a pure and honorable and necessary connection between two scared teenagers#and what a shame it is that now is categorized soley as an obstacle to percabeth#i would seriously love to see these two have a healthy and productive interaction#something that feels reminiscent of their past but mature in light of their present#these two definately deserve it#percy jackon and the olympians#pjo text post#pjo#pjo headcanon#percy jackson#rachel elizabeth dare#these two were adorable#it may not have been romantic#but maybe it didn't need to be#maybe all it had to be was good

The Reputation Risk: Overcoming Pain Points When Outsourcing to a Presentation Vendor
In today's dynamic business landscape, the reliance on outsourcing services has become a common practice among organizations seeking to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
However, the decision to outsource critical functions such as presentation design comes with inherent risks, particularly in terms of reputation management.
The choice of a presentation vendor can have a direct impact on a company's image, with issues such as subpar deliverables, missed deadlines, or poor communication potentially tarnishing the brand's credibility in the eyes of clients, partners, and stakeholders. To mitigate these risks and safeguard their reputation, businesses must adopt a strategic approach to vendor selection and management.
This involves conducting thorough due diligence on potential vendors, assessing their track record, capabilities, and alignment with the organization's values.
Clear communication and expectation setting from the outset are crucial, as is the establishment of robust monitoring mechanisms to track performance and address any issues promptly.
By proactively managing these factors, companies can ensure that their outsourced presentations not only meet the highest standards of quality but also contribute positively to their brand image and reputation in the competitive marketplace.

Do you think you speak too fast/ too slow?
Here is what I learned from a speech coach.
warm up:
start this exercise by taking a deep breath and saying “aaaaah” - try to extend this to 30 seconds. Now if it doesn’t go till 30, that’s fine. Aim to work your way to that. If you can work it up to 30, go for 45/60 seconds. Do this 5 times.
next. Download an app called Metronome beats. It’s basically what singers/ musicians use for beats.
Settings: keep beats/bar as 1,
clicks/beats as 1
start at 90. It will start with a click sound and continue “beeping.”
Match your words to the beep. One beep = one word. Now slowly, increase the beat by 5 till you reach 110. Increase it at your own pace but try to spend at least 20 seconds on each number (90 for 20 seconds; 95 for 20; 100 for 20….) That’s when you stop.
either start by reading something out loud and matching the beat, or select a topic and speak freely.
do this every single day. This will help with your breath, if you’re speaking on a topic it will help you think better and improve over time. The best way to further complement this exercise is to improve your vocabulary. Try to learn 1-3 new words a day and incorporate it in your vocabulary.
This is a great tool to use when learning new languages too. You can practice your speaking skills and see how fast you can remember/ read words.
