ESV Preaching Bible!!!
We need to encourage our pastors to become stronger preachers. We can do this by giving them the "ESV Preaching Bible" which will show them how to speak God's truth in a biblical way. Give your pastor a preaching Bible they can rely on when they preach!!!
In the Body of Christ today, we need to look up to our pastors for preaching the Word of God and seeing people get saved through the power of Jesus. As we look up to our pastors, we need to show them how much we appreciate them. To show them our appreciation, we can give them the “ESV Preaching Bible” to help them become stronger preachers of the Word of God. The “ESV Preaching Bible” gives…

Christians, start talking about why homosexuality is a sin. Stop avoiding the topic. If we can’t talk about it with people who disagree with us, it only says something untrue. It’s just a sin, like all the other sins. It’s just a twisted desire, just like all the other twisted desires. “Such were some of us.” It put Christ in the cross, it condemns the person who sells their soul to it to eternity without Him. Don’t make it any less or any more than that by avoiding the topic. The Bible doesn’t treat it like a taboo topic.
Honestly so many people are deconstructing or dropping away from the faith because they don’t know how to be loving and talk about how the Bible is right when it says homosexuality is a sin. So they don’t talk about it, but everyone who disagrees with the Bible does—so no truth is coming in, just lies, and no wonder that one thread unravels the silent “Christian’s” whole faith.
Because listen, listen, marriage is a picture of the Gospel, and love is Christ. So when they twist those two things, and you decide they’re right, everything else falls apart because they’re all connected.
So yes, it’s too not-special-at-all, just another twisted desire, for you to be afraid to talk about it. But it’s also too important to know the truth about it, and replace the lies about it, for you to be silent about it.
Just tell ‘em it’s like every other sin. Your desires are twisted and you can either choose to identify with them, or you can submit them to Christ and identify with Him while he untangles the desires. You can be god of your own life until it’s time to spend eternity without Him, or you can admit He’s God. That’s it. By making it “special” you’re feeding into the lie that homosexuality is some special, unique, sacred part of a person’s psyche that has to be treated as such. Even if you’re against it. No, it doesn’t. The Gospel conversation is the same, whether the sin they embrace is homosexuality or not.
You want to be with someone of the same gender romantically, sexually? Well, I want to turn my car wheel into oncoming traffic. The difference between me and you is, I agreed with reality—my life isn’t mine, so my desire to end it isn’t right, and I won’t live by it. I’ll give it to the God who made me. You, on the other hand, aren’t there—yet. You’re still living out the lie that you were made for you, and every passing twisted desire that doesn’t line up with reality is your governing authority.
But the answer is the same. Jesus took the punishment for me, and you, committing cosmic treason against the loving God who made us to be god, ourselves, and twist up the love He invented us for. He took the punishment for all that, and He can straighten out the scoliosis of your soul. The answer’s the same. So why’s the conversation taboo? Because Barnes & Noble put a whole celebratory bookshelf out? Because Instagram shows you reels of people wailing when it’s brought up? Get over it. Stop treating people who celebrate their sin like their sin is more powerful than whatever sin Christ saved you from.

“But what I love most about the parables are the details. ...I love that Jesus knew you can’t sew a patch of shrunk cloth on an old garment or the patch will pull away, and that you can’t pour new wine into old wineskins or the skins will burst. ...
I love these details because they reveal to me a God who is immersed in creation, deeply embedded within the lives of God’s beloved. Ours is a God who knows how to mend clothes and bake bread, a God familiar with the planting and harvest seasons, the traditions of bridesmaids, and the tickle of wool on the back of the neck."

“Preach the Gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words,” the famous quote goes.
Some Christians believe it’s enough to just let others see the way we live.
I beg to differ because it contradicts the Great Commission. Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone." Mark 16:15 In order to preach, we definitely need words.
Some people think that our behaviour and deeds should draw people to Christ. It may or may not, because I have seen good people in every faith, who are loving, caring and generous. But as you know, that is not going to take them to heaven. They too need to hear the gospel. They too need to call upon the name of Jesus, in order to be saved.
How, then, can they call on the One they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? – Romans 10:14
May the Lord give us boldness and courage to share the gospel to those around us and may our actions substantiate our message.

"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18."

St Dymphna will forever (ironically) drive me insane (in a good way).
Her mother died when she was only 14, and she had to watch her father Damon as his mental health deteriorated. He got so bad that he began to lust after her - she who was the image of her mother - so she was forced to flee to continental Europe.
There, she set up a hospital for the poor and the sick. Did she see her father’s face in those who came to her for help? Did she blame herself for not being enough to prevent her father’s decline? Did she devote herself to ensure a case like his would never happen again?
Either way, he would eventually find her. A trail of the money she had taken and used in charity had made its way back to her Damon’s agents in Ireland. Had her good deeds been her undoing?
After slaughtering her companion Gerebernus, who had helped her escape in the first place, Damon tried to force his daughter to come with him. She resisted. She had sworn herself to God, to a vow of chastity. In anger, Damon killed her.
She is now a patron saint of mental health and illness. You can visit her relics in Belgium. I keep thinking about her. Saint Dymphna, pray for us.

some of my fellow leftists need to understand that your opinions on how the government should be overturned mean nothing if you dont set up community and mutual aid and that the easiest way to do this, at least in appalachia, is through the church. churches feed the poor and preach to them. its real fuckin hard to hate trans people or POC or minorities and preach hate against them if they volunteer to help your community

Telling me that I just need to be positive about my chronic illness
And then telling me that I talk about it too much and I-
I’m sorry that I mention the condition that affects me every minute of every day. You think I’m mentioning it too much but I’m not mentioning it enough for how much it affects my life.
*Internal screaming*
Just me being mad about something a ‘friend’ said cause he’s kinda turning into an ableist piece of shit

Heavenly Father, the most high God.
i come before you with a strong and humble heart, seeking your guidance, love, and strength. thank you for your everlasting presence, and for walking beside me through every challenge and triumph. Lord, fill me with peace that surpasses all understanding, and help me to trust in your perfect plans for my life. When I feel weak, remind me of your strength; when I feel lost, remind me of your guidance. i place my life and all my concerns in your capable hands.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6
amen.

So I'm a christian and I have been trying to read my bible more often
Acts 2:44 the very beginning of the church the new followers (the disciples had for the most part already done this) sold all of their possessions and rejoiced in simplicity while working in a community to provide for each other
This is something Jesus calls his followers to do
He says this many many times
👀 and elder members of church wonder why today's youth is so "radical"

“The movies always make it seem as though people were drawn to Jesus by some mysterious force beyond their control, a gravitational pull accompanied by swelling strings and warm light. But to me the appeal of Jesus seems a lot more concrete: this was a man who loved a good feast and could spin a good tale. Of course people craved his presence.”

1 My friends, how I wish with all my heart that my own people might be saved! How I pray to God for them! 2 I can assure you that they are deeply devoted to God; but their devotion is not based on true knowledge. 3 They have not known the way in which God puts people right with himself, and instead, they have tried to set up their own way; and so they did not submit themselves to God's way of putting people right. 4 For Christ has brought the Law to an end, so that everyone who believes is put right with God.
Salvation Is for All
5 Moses wrote this about being put right with God by obeying the Law: “Whoever obeys the commands of the Law will live.” 6 But what the scripture says about being put right with God through faith is this: “You are not to ask yourself, Who will go up into heaven?” (that is, to bring Christ down). 7 “Nor are you to ask, Who will go down into the world below?” (that is, to bring Christ up from death). 8 What it says is this: “God's message is near you, on your lips and in your heart”—that is, the message of faith that we preach. 9 If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved. 10 For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved. 11 The scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.” 12 This includes everyone, because there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles; God is the same Lord of all and richly blesses all who call to him. 13 As the scripture says, “Everyone who calls out to the Lord for help will be saved.”
14 But how can they call to him for help if they have not believed? And how can they believe if they have not heard the message? And how can they hear if the message is not proclaimed? 15 And how can the message be proclaimed if the messengers are not sent out? As the scripture says, “How wonderful is the coming of messengers who bring good news!” 16 But not all have accepted the Good News. Isaiah himself said, “Lord, who believed our message?” 17 So then, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message comes through preaching Christ.
18 But I ask: Is it true that they did not hear the message? Of course they did—for as the scripture says:
“The sound of their voice went out to all the world; their words reached the ends of the earth.” 19 Again I ask: Did the people of Israel not understand? Moses himself is the first one to answer: “I will use a so-called nation to make my people jealous; and by means of a nation of fools I will make my people angry.” 20 And Isaiah is even bolder when he says, “I was found by those who were not looking for me; I appeared to those who were not asking for me.”
21 But concerning Israel he says, “All day long I held out my hands to welcome a disobedient and rebellious people.” — Romans 10 | Good News Translation (GNT) Good News Translation® (Today’s English Version, Second Edition) © 1992 American Bible Society.
