reminder that victims of emotional neglect can tend to lash out or display negative emotions when comforted since they aren't used to it and don't know how to respond to genuine comfort since they're so used to being let down with empty promises of love and support.

this doesn't mean they're a bad person or don't want the love, it just means they haven't healed from their neglect and need time.

ofc not everyone who's gone through emotional neglect in childhood will react like this, but it's pretty common (from sm1 who's gone through that and reacts that same way), and should honestly be more talked abt and accepted.

Plural POV

You're at the mall with your friends, and one of the system's littles got just a tad too excited and is starting to act hyperactive and take control of the body, so you excuse yourself to the bathroom so that you can call forth towards the fronting room whoever is reparenting the kiddo at the moment and ask them to Pretty Please Manage Their Ward. You proceed to have an existential crisis as the adult headmate sings to their kid a lullaby that you also remember from your childhood, and you face the dual experience of that kid falling asleep to the sound of it straight away while you're getting stressed over how along ago your childhood was and how old you are.

Just another Tuesday as a plural!

And then there's times when you're like "okay I'm not any of my usuals, so who am I?" And just going down the list of names out loud until it clicks that "ah, yes, I am that feline alter that has been dormant for 6 years."

Or you'll realize that you're none of them and be stuck in the "who tf am I?" Stage until a name comes to mind, and "oh, I guess there's a new person here now."

Non distinct switching is strange. We don't switch often. But when we do, half the time it's not noticed instantly and there'll be a moment when it's like "Hey wait a minute, I'm not the other guy!"
