A murder mystery film set in a medieval village. After an outbreak of plague, the villagers make the decision to shut their borders so as to protect the disease from spreading (see the real life case of the village of Eyam). As the disease decimates the population, however, some bodies start showing up that very obviously were not killed by plague.

Since nobody has been in or out since the outbreak began, the killer has to be somebody in the local community.

The village constable (who is essentially just Some Guy, because being a medieval constable was a bit like getting jury duty, if jury duty gave you the power to arrest people) struggles to investigate the crime without exposing himself to the disease, and to maintain order as the plague-stricken villagers begin to turn on each other.

The killer strikes repeatedly, seemingly taking advantage of the empty streets and forced isolation to strike without witnesses. As with any other murder mystery, the audience is given exactly the same information to solve the crime as the detective.

Except, that is, whenever another character is killed, at which point we cut to the present day where said character's remains are being carefully examined by a team of modern archaeologists and historians who are also trying to figure out why so many of the people in this plague-pit died from blunt force trauma.

The archaeologists and historians, btw, are real experts who haven't been allowed to read the script. The filmmakers just give them a model of the victim's remains, along with some artefacts, and they have to treat it like a real case and give their real opinion on how they think this person died.

We then cut back to the past, where the constable is trying to do the same thing. Unlike the archaeologists, he doesn't have the advantage of modern tech and medical knowledge to examine the body, but he does have a more complete crime scene (since certain clues obviously wouldn't survive to be dug up in the modern day) and personal knowledge from having probably known the victim.

The audience then gets a more complete picture than either group, and an insight into both the strengths and limits of modern archaeology, explaining what we can and can't learn from studying a person's remains.

At the end of the film, after the killer is revealed and the main plot is resolved, we then get to see the archaeologists get shown the actual scenes where their 'victims' were killed, so they can see how well their conclusions match up with what 'really' happened.

Another older AU idea:

AU where Xie Lian isn't banished after his second ascension, but spends most of his time wandering the mortal realm hoping to find Wu Ming while slowly becoming a god of the dead.

He is in fact away when Hua Cheng ascends and leaves, but he just happens to arrive as Hua Cheng finishes annihilating the 33 gods. At this time Xie Lian is still pretty much considered a laughing stock. Mu Qing, and Feng Xin both keep their distance out of guilt,(Jun Wu had a lovely talk with them.) but everyone thinks they also really look down on Xie Lian. So when Xie Lian challenges Hua Cheng himself and Hua Cheng accepts, the gods think they are about to be entertained by seeing XIe Lian get humiliated again.

However two things happen very quickly:

1. They figure out Hua Cheng was just playing with everyone before.

2. Everyone gets a reminder that Xie Lian is a damn martial god.

The fight goes on for 3 days. The heavens shake, buildings fall. Even Jun Wu can't get them to stop. Xie Lian and Hua Cheng look like they are having the time of their lives. As the third day is ending they finally stop, no one watching is quite sure exactly how victory between the two was decided, but Hua Cheng reverently takes a crystal ring on a chain and places it over Xie Lian's head, kneels pledging his eternal loyalty and devotion, and then collapses from exhaustion. When other martial gods start to approach Xie Lian raises his sword at them, and says in a clear, surprisingly cold voice "No one touch him. He is mine." Seeing he's made his point he sheathes his sword, and picks Hua Cheng up taking him to his palace, where promptly puts up a barrier keeping everyone else out. He suspected while they had been fighting that Hua Cheng was Wu Ming, and Hua Cheng's actions afterward confirmed it for him. He is absolutely not going to let his Wu Ming be taken from him again.

My brain does not work well with most social media, especially video like TikTok. But do you know what I would watch religiously?

Jamie Tartt's "Roy Kent Swears at Things" channel.

Pundit shows. Traffic. Match footage. Books. Bake-Off. Other people. Recipes that do not turn out like Nigella said they would. Grocery prices, because Roy grew up poor, and despite the fact that he has no problem dropping a wad of cash or a gold watch to catch a ride, it mortally offends him that his favorite snack no longer costs 50p.

Surreptitious shots are easy because of Jamie's complete inability to sit like a normal person — Roy never notices the camera's pointed at him. Plus, when Roy really gets going, Jamie can film him flat-out like a fan on the street, he's so distracted.

But the best ones are just Jamie, camera pointed at his own face, stifling laughter (you know, a la 03x02, Trent's locker room intro), while the dulcet tones of Roy hollering things like "WHAT THE FUCK D'YOU THINK YOU'RE FUCKING DOING, YOU FUCKFACE FUCKING CUNT" come from the background.

To get Shen Jiu to stop fighting off the qi deviation the system allows him to see how PIDW goes and gives him a choice, either go back and live that life or die and transmigrate into another world. A world where he'll be born with the highest potential as a cultivator and the highest pedigree. Shen Jiu chooses to leave. And he transmigrates into a noble child with great cultivation potential. Except it's Wen Ruohan's secret child and it's the end of the Sun Shot Campaign. Because Jiang Cheng is a tofu hearted person, Shen Jiu ends up at Lotus Pier where he becomes Jiang Cheng's most standoffish disciple because Shen Jiu knows young masters, Jiang Cheng might not be an absolute monster like Young Master Qiu but deep down they're all the same. So he waits for Jiang Cheng to show his hand, to drop his act. Except Jiang Cheng doesn't, he yells, he commands, he's arrogant as fuck but even when Shen Jiu riles him up, even when Shen Jiu drops hot soup over him ruining his second-best set of robes. Jiang Cheng screams at him but he doesn't hit him. Even after his political-nightmare of an unstable SIC runs off, he still supports him behind the scenes. Shen Jiu is a bit obsessed with this guy.After Shen Jiu bullies a younger disciple and Jiang Cheng picks him up slams him against the wall and tells him, that he's going to have to find another sect, if he thinks this kind of behaviour will be tolerated. Shen Jiu decides that if Wei Wuxian doesn't want to be SIC, it's high time the position went to someone qualified. Shen Jiu, youngest shidi of Yunmeng Jiang (and former SIC of Cang Qiong) is the man for the job.

2012 TMNT But Its One-sided Demolition Crew (Shredded and Splintered)

So what if. Instead of Saki being obsessed with Tang Shen, he was actually in love with Yoshi. And goes that night to take him away from the clan and his arranged marriage and all that nonsense.

Yoshi is all, "We're brothers dude, not cool." And Saki's, "Nah it's fine bro, I'm adopted." Yoshi like, "No seriously, no homo."

And so they fight, and Shen gets knocked out/dies (Somehow.) and starts a fire when she does.

Yoshi fights Saki off, knocking him out; then runs off taking Miwa outside to safety, then runs back in to get Saki and Shen. He drags Saki out the front door and then goes back in to get Shen, having to fight the blaze to get to her now, extremely dead body. (Rip Shen)

Saki wakes, and hears Miwa crying outback running around the house to save her, just seconds before Yoshi drags Shen's body outfront where he was.

The house collapses just as Saki finds Miwa, and believing his brother is dead and Miwa is all that's left of him, Saki spirits the baby off into the night.

He later finds out Yoshi survived the blaze, buried Shen and then disappeared, and so his long search begins.

Skip ahead 15 years and Saki hears rumors of some "Mutant Ninja Turtles" in America who have a very foot clan-esque style, and he's immediately intrigued. (And desperate for any lead at this point.)

He finds out Yoshi got mutated into a giant fancy rat, and adopted four turtle tots. (Cause of course he freaking did, just make our lives more complicated why don't you Yosh…)

And so then the whole series is Saki trying to capture and woo, and unmutate Yoshi, and the turtle tots just being like "Hell no you are not dating our father, you monster."

Devastating plotbunny that I will not write because I don't want to cry: Nandor goes through with his Super Slumber. Guillermo still doesn't leave him. He lives his life in the Staten Island home, and he talks to Nandor every night. Nandor dreams of his voice telling him about his life. When he wakes up, it's to photo albums and journals and a goodbye letter. Only then does Nandor realize the real, lasting love he sought so fruitlessly was there by his side all along.

Fu Yao's "YOU SLEPT WITH HIM!?" scene only it's omegaverse, and and omega Xie Lian went into heat with alpha San Lang there.

San Lang was amazingly helpful, not taking advantage of Xie Lian, and even offering to leave if Xie Lian felt uncomfortable at all. Xie Lian wouldn't let him though, he wanted San Lang to stay and snuggle, and wouldn't let him go.

The worst part of Xie Lian's heat is over but he's not completely out of it yet. There are times he can't help but see fellow omega Fu Yao as a rival after HIS alpha, so every once in a while he'll feel the urge to possessively claim scent San Lang. While being careful not to use a claiming scent himself San Lang will scent Xie Lian in return to calm him down.

Xie Lian is completely mortified by this after he fully regains his senses and realizes 1: He's been claim scenting a friggin ghost king. 2: Fu Yao, and Nan Feng are Mu Qing and Feng Xin meaning he's been doing this in front his former best friends the entire time. And all this is BEFORE "Adventures in the Kingdom of Banyue" happens.

I just have this mental image of post-S3 Roy reluctantly calling the Diamond Dogs and gritting out something super informative like "My boyfriend... wants... something."

And Beard and Will know everything because... Beard is omniscient and Will is a boot room stalker, so they nod, and Nate has, like, a lightbulb moment and gets it immediately, and Trent – have you seen that post about how Trent is Jane Goodall and Jamie is the ape he's studying? – is just thinking oh finally and getting out his mental notepad. (I refuse to believe he wasn't invited back for another book, sorry.)

But Higgins is a moment behind. And he gags, like he does. And he asks, "You have a boyfriend?" And he lowers his voice, and he asks, "Have you... told Jamie?"

And Roy continues to stare at the wall or whatever, but everyone else turns to look at Higgins. And there's a beat. And then Higgins goes, "Ohhhhhhh," like he does.

(Yeah and then I got nothing. I'm supposed to be working.)

So after a couple of peaceful years SJ is the head disciple of Yunmeng Jiang and all is well.

Except the System is having a plotline induced meltdown. It didn't promise SJ a wholesome slice of life story. It promised him a dramatic epic!!! It's storyline algorithm alarms are blaring and it must create some drama to initiate an epic saga of SJ (secretly the heir of the fallen Wen sect) begins his journey to take back what is rightfully his. The system has a script for this, namely PIDW and SVSSS.

So it activates scenario pusher "Betrayed and left for dead by shizun, a broken heart's shards turn to poison steel blades." SJ used to have a red jade seal proving he was WRH's son and the true heir to the Wen sect which he dramatically threw into the lakes of Lotus Pier when he decided to become JC's SIC. Now the system activates its scenario pusher and the jade seal is dragged to light by a budding lotus flower right next to JC's private pier.
