Not me at noon on a Sunday sending my non-ed therapist an essay-text compassionately explaining why it was uncomfortable for me when she ended our session Friday with a very diet-culture-y share (which I challenged in the moment and shared a lot of what I learned with her as I walked out the door) and saying how I hope we can figure out a solid way to proceed — either through me sharing my perspectives in session or me sending her book recs/resources for her to get more information independently — because the times that mindset us come up for us lead me to filter my recovery stuff more heavily in our work together and that’s not ideal right now because I gotta be able to talk pretty openly and also be held accountable for disordered ways of thinking !

Tuesday, January 14th, 2025
Not my best sleep ever, but still getting used to waking up at 4am. Could have been better, but also could have been worse. I like to fall asleep to ASMR, but I think some generic white noise like rain would be better.
Despite that, I did my workout and got my steps in. I stuck to my meal plan. And, I may be a lot of things, but nutrient deficient isn't one of them!
The meal plan may be boring (fruit, chili, chicken, veggies, potatoes, protein shakes, fiber bars), but it's easy, I don't have to think about it too hard, and it keeps me full all day. I usually end my day with potatoes cause they're so satiating and make me happy.

Older generations and their obsession with weight is crazy. Like i was talking to my mom about my dietary changes that im doing to fix my digestive issues shes just like oh you look better youve lost weight. Like this was not at all the point of this. I just want my digestion to work correctly i dont care about that.
#she means well but its kinda triggering tbh#the entire reason my diet was so bad was bc i genuinely thought that was the best thing i could do to avoid an ed relapse#to clarify i mean in the sense of eating whatever i wanted and not worrying about the effects on health#which i was aware was a subpar option but i thought it was the best since every time i tried to change my diet to be “healthier”...#...it just devolved into ed behavior#obviously that didnt turn out well and it was a bad idea but bringing the subject of weight up in that scenario just isnt it#of course she doesnt really know i had an eating disorder in the first place but thats a whole other topic#but she is actually trying to be helpful about these issues and is going to help me set up a doctors appointment bc im kinda daunted by...#...the whole process especially when it comes to making sure the doctor in question is in network#our heathcare system is bad and needs to change which is a big part of why i was so vocal about bernie in the 2020 election#obviously its a little late for that but hopefully we can elect a president in 2028 who will help make substantial change#its definitely not going to be from the president elect with concepts of a plan for healthcare#but thats also off topic#eating disorders.#ask to tag#turning off reblogs bc i dont want people posting my vent about my personal heath problems on their own blogs lol#not that i think people would but just in case

Just another (gentle) reminder that I block any blogs who follow me that have disordered eating, diet, and/or thinspo related stuff on it. Especially en masse.
My veganism, my body, what I do IE health and exercise, etc. will not be used as a model for others to use to potentially harm themselves.
My genuine hope for folks like this is that they get the help they need to have a better/neutral relationship to their bodies, to food, to exercise, etc.

10/25/24 wt 191 point something.
Despite yesterday's struggle, I did "ok."
I pushed myself to refocus from food or doing something stupid successfully for the most part.
The gym helped. Did the stairs, avoiding moving the rib and shoulder areas. Treated myself to tanning before and a hydromassage after.
Talked to a friend on the way home. I am kind of annoyed with people generally since the pandemic. A couple days ago, this friend wanted to go "out for a margarita" on the day of the election. I said No, I will not be doing that. I did find a activity class that I was interested in. I sent it to her and (no surprise here) she is going home to watch results instead. Her patteis9ver the last 24 years is...she doesn't really meet anywhere. The only way we visit is primarily me going to her house. She said something the other day about "happy hour" at Paradiso and I said no, I don't do that. But my real question is- why are you even suggesting that? I am not going to a damn happy hour alone and I know damn well you ain't going.
I got home, took some fun time CBD and a hot shower with aromatherapy to relax.
I did eat more pie after my pictured food here. But that was the only fuck up for the day and I am just moving on. I think it was the CBD bahahahaaa It was a low sugar "protein" pie so even if I ate half, it would be less than 800 cals. A way better option than the danish I was eyeing and able to avoid. There was also some unpictire artic zero. Again, whatever.

Hard days happen. It is how we respond to them that counts. Typing it out here helped. Gym helped. Good satiating food helped. Super proud of myself for all of that.

Why must dieting be absolutely fucking miserable
#ed blogs please dni i am not associated with you#i’ve only been calorie counting for 2.5 days and i’m already SICK OF THIS#why is every food i like to eat like 200 calories per mouthful#i’m planning dinner because i’m SO hungry already and why is a dollop of mayonnaise like the same amount of calories#as a whole can of butter beans. what’s the reason for that#i’m NOT switching to light mayo. at that point i’d rather just cut mayo from my diet altogether#light mayo; reduced fat margarine; light cream cheese & reduced salt marmite all taste horrendous to me#light cheddar as well. i’m not eating it!!!#don’t get me started on having to cut out weed because i will just start crying#being sober turns me into such a hater but the last thing i need is anything that will increase my appetite#i’ll be fine in like a week once my body adapts to eating 2074 calories instead of like fucking… 3000 or whatever it was#most of which were junk. i’m very sad that i can’t eat more than one sweet or piece of chocolate per day but i’m just trying not to think#about it. and while i’m on the subject; since when are fibre one brownies so boring. i feel like they used to taste legitimately good#i’m going to take up running again. because then i will be able to eat more. but also i will be hungrier. i CANNOT win#they really need to invent a low calorie food that actually tastes good to me. every time i google it i’m like eurgh#celery and nuts. fuck off#if i didn’t have arthritis in my knee and a family history of heart problems i wouldn’t be doing this shit but alas! i probably should#i just want to take like 20kg of strain off my knees it should not be this hard. and yet!#personal

Anyways very funny to see food allergy posting on our dash. We've recently learned there's a decent chance we're either sensitive or allergic to capsaicin, the thing that makes food spicy, which is very very funny to us specifically because we recently spent several weeks in Germany and spent the whole time halfway to starving to death because they didn't have anything Spicy and we are now discovering that apparently spice is "hostile to our body" and "not something we should be eating" despite it being a staple of our diet for most of our life
#we speak#we are not cutting it out of our diet btw. we would not survive. if we don't eat enough allergens in a week we will starve to death#fun fact as a small child we thought something which we now realize isnt even spicy was Mouth Burning Hot#which in hindsight should have been a sign however we continued to eat it regardless#anyways we feel connected to that one guy who assumed everyone was willing to suffer for their potato passions#but it's “apparently this is not the normal level of being willing to suffer for your spice passions”#if our throat feels puffy after shovelling a whole dish of curry down our gaping maw then that is the price we must pay for hubris#we assume the spice allergy comes from the side of our family currently living in germany btw#all love to them. we literally cannot spend too much time in germany or england because the food is too bland#the two weeks we spent watching their kid during carnivale would have killed us if we didn't find that indian place in amsterdam after#lamb vindaloo save us. save us lamb vindaloo.#this is possibly only funny to us btw. something something “diversity win the person who actively plans travel based on available spice”#“is allergic to the chemical that makes food spicy”#actually we can make a better joke about this hold on we need to make a better post
