Hello, Biscayne National Park! by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: This image captures a setting to the northwest with a view beyond some nearby mangroves to the waters of Biscayne Bay. I captured this image while walking along a boardwalk at the Dante Fascell Visitor Center. In composing this image, I used an opening through the mangroves to create a desired depth of field, emphasizing the distant groves and island/keys. The rest of the image was metering to avoid overexposing the highlights in the far-off areas while still being able to pull out the shadowed details in the foreground through post-production adjustments.

I just like making visuals for stuff and this illustrates really simply what my idea of omori headspace lore is, idk maybe this is obvious to everyone but I think it’s super interesting and nobody really talks about this specific aspect of the lore so might as well point it out right?

The fact that headspace has gone through multiple iterations is like number 3 omori thing I think about all the time

(By the way literally all of this is supported by either branch coral dialogue or hallway of truth dialogue, that’s it, if y’all want specific highlights I will provide but that’s what I’m basing this off of)

Valicer Multiamory Month, Day Six: Always Room For One More (Londerland Bloodlines AU)

Give it up for Day Six of @polyamships's Multiamory Month -- and while the OFFICIAL prompt for today was "Team As Polycule," that was ALSO the first prompt in Polyship Week 2024, and I didn't feel like doing it again so soon. So instead I slotted in one of the alternate prompts available on the list: "Always Room For One More!" Which in turn inspired me to write something from my Londerland Bloodlines verse --

And I know what you're thinking: "Uh, Vic? I thought you were doing Valicer and related poly ships for this thing. Isn't Londerland Bloodlines (eventually) going to be Vemilicia -- aka just Victor/Alice/Victoria/Emily?"

To which I reply, "I think you've forgotten that the second Smiler I ever came up with was a Malkavian version specifically for this verse." XD Yes, this verse was Four Victorians Riding A Roller Coaster -- well, not all along, but for a significant portion of its lifespan, bitches! :p Granted, Smiler will be a very late addition to the polycule, given they only appear in the final planned story (which will probably be written sometime around the heat death of the universe) -- but that's what makes Londerland Bloodlines such a perfect verse for this particular prompt!

ANYWAY -- here is the story I came up with, featuring Alice and Smiler having a chat while watching the aftermath of their murder of Smiler's asshole sire Dr. Kelman. A chat that very much does not go the way Alice expects it to go, because it turns out Smiler is still feeling The Guilt about an earlier incident...

“So – guess this is it.”

“It certainly seems to be,” Alice said, watching as the police descended on what remained of The Sanctuary and its staff. “Unless it turns out that Kelman tried siring another, more agreeable apprentice or two that need taking care of, but I honestly doubt that.”

“Me too.” Smiler sighed, running their fingers through their purple-streaked bangs. “Okay then – we’d better get back to the hotel so I can say goodbye to everyone before the sun comes up.”

Alice blinked, dragging her eyes away from the chaotic scene below. “...beg pardon?”

Smiler gave her a brittle grin. “Well – now that we’ve taken out my asshole sire, there’s no reason for me to hang out with you guys anymore, is there? So I might as well leave before you all get sick of me. If you aren’t already, of course.”

Alice stared at them, trying to reconcile the defeated words she was hearing with the absurdly sunny Smiler she’d thought she’d known. “What – why would be be–”

And then Scribbles gently tugged her shirt, and held up a drawing of a snake, and it clicked. “Oh. You don’t believe we’ve actually forgiven you for what happened with the Ministry and Victor, do you?”

“He got kidnapped and temporarily brainwashed because I decided I liked him,” Smiler responded, still with that painful smile. “You guys seemed royally and rightfully pissed off about that.”

“Yes, but – at the Ministry, not you,” Alice said, moving a little closer. “You were the one who called us and told us where he was! And even if we were a tad suspicious of your motives at first, the minute it became apparently they’d lied to you about – well, everything…” She sighed, remembering her own confused first days back in Los Angeles. “Well. I have a soft spot for fledglings who nobody tells anything to.”

“Yeah, but – still–”

“Still nothing,” Alice interrupted, poking them. “We like you, Smiler. You’re likable! We’ve enjoyed spending time with you, all of us! We don’t want you to go! I don’t want you to go!” She leaned in, gaze firm. “And I know very well Victor wouldn’t want you to go.”

Now it was Smiler’s turn to blink. “I – but – hang on,” they stammered. “I do – but he’s with you, and Victoria, and Emily! I – I don’t want to intrude.”

“It’s not an intrusion,” Alice said, taking their hand – they stared at it in shock. “Really. I was willing to share him once – I can do so again.” She smiled. “I love Victor – why wouldn’t I want him to have what makes him happy?”

Smiler stared at their hands a moment longer, then looked back up at her. For the first time, hope blossomed in those bright yellow eyes. “Well...maybe we could just head back to the hotel then. For a – a chat.”

Alice’s smile brightened. “Sounds like an excellent idea to me.”
