Palestinian factions react to Donald Trump's comments about the US occupying and "developing" the Gaza Strip.
🟢 Hamas condemned Trump's statements "in the strongest terms." "We affirm that these statements are hostile to our people and our cause and will not serve stability in the region. Rather, they will pour oil on the fire. We will not allow any country in the world to occupy our land or impose guardianship over our great Palestinian people who have offered rivers of blood to liberate our land from occupation and to establish our Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital."
Hamas called on Trump to retract his statements, which they deemed irresponsible and at odds with international law. They called on the Arab League and UN to address these comments.
⚫ Palestinian Islamic Jihad considered that Trump's comments, made while receiving the wanted Netanyahu, "are nothing more than a new version of the ill-fated Balfour Promise—where those who have nothing are promised to those who do not deserve it."
They called the event "a meeting between the war criminal and the arrogant real estate mogul, which epitomized the reality of the American-zionist project in our region." This project works through intimidation, brute force, and genocide, "flouting all laws, regulations, and the will of our peoples."
PIJ affirmed that these statements leave no doubt that the US is leading a war of genocide, displacement, and the expansion of occupation. They considered Trump's plans, from ending UNRWA to seizing land, are a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security.
PIJ concluded: "Our Palestinian people, who have been resisting for over a hundred years, will not succumb to the dictates of Trump or anyone else. His foolish statements will only serve as motivation for us to reinforce our resistance until we achieve our objectives of liberating our land and ending the occupation. Our Palestinian people and their resistance forces are more determined and resolute than ever in confronting these conspiracies, and we call on the Arab and Islamic peoples to stand against this conspiratorial project, which targets all the peoples of our region and portends serious impending threats."
🔴 The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine was similarly direct: Gaza is not a real estate project.
They considered the statements "nothing but an extension of the genocide war waged by the Zionist enemy under the direct American cover, and an attempt to establish a new colonial project based on ethnic cleansing and the uprooting of our people from their land."
They added: "Gaza is not a commodity in the hands of a war merchant like Trump or anyone else; rather, it is an integral part of historical Palestine, which stretches from Ras al-Naqoura to Rafah, and it is the gateway upon which the forces of colonialism have repeatedly crashed throughout history."
"Any dream of controlling Gaza is merely an illusion that will shatter against the rock of the steadfastness and resistance of our people, and the fate of any American occupation force in the Strip will be no different from that of the zionist enemy; our people will confront it with all their strength and determination, just as they repelled the zionist aggression."
"Gaza will forever remain a graveyard for invaders and an oasis of steadfastness and resistance for its free and dignified people."
The PFLP called on all people to "confront this colonial scheme." "We especially urge the active forces in the United States to take to the streets and declare their rejection of this new crime, which reflects the true face of American imperialism that colludes with the zionist occupation. Our struggle against this colonial, extirpatory project is the battle of all free peoples who reject colonialism, displacement, and the uprooting of a free people from their land."

Meet Fadi Alwadia, an Islamic Jihad activist, who was killed yesterday in Gaza. Why is it interesting?
Because the "Doctors Without Borders" organization condemned the assassination and claimed that it was their physiotherapist.
Really?
Alwadia was a Islamic Jihad activist for more than 15 years, coincident with his membership in the medical organization. In the past, he tried to leave Gaza for Iran to practice sabotage together with his two terrorist friends.
This is exactly the problem that the world cannot understand.
The terrorists embed themselves within civilians and civilians organizations and when they are eliminated, the Palestinians claim Israel is killing innocent people- reporters, doctors, teachers etc., but it's not the truth. The truth is that they are all terrorists.

Misc. Final Partners in Justice Parts
Hey, everyone! I know it's been literal years since I've worked on this. Unfortunately, I don't have the motivation to finish it, so here's the last few drafts I had waiting to go along with other ones that never got finished. Below the cut will be what the final plans were.
Thank you all for enjoying this so much! You're all amazing!
Part 20: Bats decides to keep those at home inside, only he goes out. He has no control over NW and RH (and whoever else is not at the manor) but advises them to stay inside. Y/N pouts because she can't see Damian. Maybe some e-learning, and facetiming with Damian
Part 21: the band pick up lines. School is e-learning rest of year. Disappointment over lack of concerts, prom, and so on. Everyone's reactions to that. Maybe Damian asks Y/N to home-prom?
Part 22: decision day (May 1st) Damian and YN announce they're going to Gotham University. Prom at home, except idk if it'll be Y/N with her family or a social-distanced one with Damian. Graduation cancelled, reactions to that.
Part 23: social-distanced date lol that the batfam definitely spies on. More e-learning.
Part 24: Jumps ahead to virtual graduation, probably the last of the posts
->->-> This was meant to be updated as the pandemic continued on and life changed. Obviously, life got chaotic, I went to school, went on a mission for my church, and have returned since then. There would've been a more officially ending for it all if things had gone as initially planned.
Thank you all again! It's been a pleasure seeing how much love you all have had for this series

Want to share this statement from @Aldanmarki on twitter:
"The Palestinian Islamic Jihad is often viewed in the west as an "extremist" group, mostly a misunderstanding based on their oh-so "scary" name. Last Monday I was speaking to a Palestinian with considerable knowledge on the Palestinian resistance factions, and he told me something very interesting about the PIJ. The PIJ is a fighting organization, not a political organization in the traditional sense. Unlike Hamas, Fatah or even the PFLP, the PIJ do not have any set-in-stone vision for a future Palestinian state. The PIJ does not envision political leadership in a liberated Palestine. Their political program makes it abundantly clear that they will leave political decision-making up to the Palestinian people. Their refusal to engage in bureaucratic politics also makes them the only resistance group none of their other groups dare to criticize. By solely focusing on the armed struggle, the PIJ would never be involved in murky corruption scandals like other groups have been in the past.
The PIJ is a moderately religious organization, and perhaps one could argue even more moderate than Hamas. Their political program calls for the total unification of the Islamic nation between both Sunnis and Shias, and envisions the fostering of a democratic culture in which all internal disputes can be resolved in a respectful and grounded manner without the interference of foreign powers.
Palestinian hunger striker Khader Adnan, who passed away in May this year due to starvation from his hunger strike, was affiliated with the PIJ and served as their spokesman in the early 2000s. He was a respected figure by all Palestinians across the political spectrum and would often be seen mingling with student groups from all factions. Khader Adnan was, in many ways, the physical embodiment of the political catch-all nature of the PIJ."

The fragility of the truce between Israel and Hamas was laid bare on Saturday, after Israel accused Hamas of withholding a hostage, prompting a halt in the movement of Gazan civilians back to their homes in the north.
The ceasefire deal was already a brittle agreement, with Israeli statements often calling it a “framework” as opposed to a deal.
Tensions escalated this week when 29-year-old Arbel Yehud, a civilian who Israel says should have been freed Saturday, was not among the four women released. Israel, in turn, did not allow Gazan civilians to return north past the Netzarim Corridor, which was meant to take place Saturday under the ceasefire and hostage deal.
Complicating the matter is that Yehud is not being held by Hamas. A senior source in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement (PIJ), another militant group in the Strip, told CNN that it is holding Yehud and that she “will be released under the terms of the agreed-upon prisoner exchange deal.” Both Hamas and Israel have accused the other of failing to stick to their end of the bargain, raising questions about how well the ceasefire that took more than 15 months to reach would hold. [...] Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari said on Saturday that “Hamas didn’t fulfil the agreement in terms of its obligation to return civilians first,” adding that “we will insist that Arbel Yehud return” along with the rest of the hostages. Hundreds of displaced people were seen fleeing in panic after the Israeli military opened fire on Saturday to prevent them from crossing into northern Gaza to return to their homes [...] Hamas said that Israel “continues to procrastinate in implementing the terms of the ceasefire agreement and the prisoner exchange by maintaining the closure of al-Rasheed Street and preventing the return of displaced persons walking from the south to the north.” [...]

September 10, 2024 - Israel has failed in defeating the Jenin Brigades following the 10 days of brutal military operation in the occupied West Bank. Last night, dozens of Saraya Al-Quds fighters appeared in Jenin refugee camp to commemorate their fallen comrades during the Israeli attack.
During the commemoration, speeches were given by fighters who remained steadfast in their resistance to the occupation. They thanked the people of Jenin for being the backbone of the resistance and supporting it. [video]

In Rafah, the southernmost city in Gaza, right on the border with Egypt, comes a heartwarming story of the violence one terror group, Hamas, visited on members of a rival group, Palestinian Islamic Jihad. More on this fracas can be found here: “Trouble in paradise? Clashes between Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Rafah. Media silent, as usual.,” Elder of Ziyon, July 19, 2023:
Last night, a mob of Hamas members entered a Gaza mosque and attacked Islamic Jihad officials there. Hamas militia and the militants from the Al-Qassam Brigades attacked two members of the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Jihad Movement, in the city of Rafah. Eyewitnesses reported that Hamas members stormed  the Al-Awda Mosque, which is affiliated with Islamic Jihad, and assaulted the PIJ officials there…. Islamic Jihad issued a statement saying…they were surprised at the large numbers of Hamas members attacking the mosque….
The Hamas mob – who came armed with knives, and used as well chairs inside the mosque – severely injured Yahya Mansour and another “official” of the PIJ. If other PIJ members were attacked, their injuries were not severe enough to merit mention.
There are clearly tensions between Hamas and Islamic Jihad that no one is talking to the media about. And they are both trying to keep their differences quiet. Islamic Jihad’s statement ended off with: But notice how the media simply doesn’t want to cover a story about major differences between the two largest armed groups in Gaza. It is almost like they agree with the terror groups that it is better to keep these things private and only attack Israel.
Why would a Hamas mob attack members of Palestinian Islamic Jihad just now? They are not allies but rival terror groups, both in Gaza, where Hamas has ruled the Strip since 2007, when it killed or expelled hundreds of Fatah members, and in the West Bank, where both terror groups have been making inroads at the expense of the Palestinian Authority, attracting young disaffected Palestinians who despise Mahmoud Abbas for his corruption, and mismanagement, and want more attacks on the hated Zionists.
The 44-hour war in Jenin camp launched by the IDF was aimed only at the PIJ, that had recently been responsible for several murderous attacks on Israeli civilians. In all that time, Hamas did not lift a finger. It did not launch rockets into Israel from Gaza; no Hamas fighters joined the PIJ in trying to fight off the IDF in Jenin. After the campaign was over, Hamas joined all the Palestinians in declaring a “victory” over the Zionist enemy, supposedly “driven out of Jenin camp” by Palestinians whom Hamas refrained from identifying as PIJ fighters. But that was the extent of Hamas’ participation.
This was the second time this year that the PIJ faced Israel without any support from Hamas. Between May 9 and May 13 the IDF attacked PIJ fighters in Gaza. Gaza’s ruling Hamas supported the PIJ only by sharing a joint command room, but it did not fire a single rocket.
Since the Jenin mini-war, the PIJ has been fulminating against Hamas’ failure to. support it, depicting itself as now the sole paladin of the Palestinian “resistance.” Naturally this claim has infuriated Hamas, that is not solely a terror group as the PIJ is, but also has the responsibilities of rule in Gaza, and has therefore tried not to be drawn into hostilities with the IDF, knowing what the result would be.
The PIJ’s criticism of Hamas’ inaction during IDF attacks in both May and in July, was what finally led a Hamas mob to enter that mosque in Rafah to teach the PIJ a lesson. The result was the violent attack on two PIJ officials, including Yahya Mansour. Judging by the PIJ’s mild verbal response, it is now worried about other attacks by resentful Hamas members, and will likely tone down its criticism.
As for those of us watching from afar, we can only hope that these scorpions in a bottle will continue to sting one another. Pull up a chair, and watch.
