Hey yall, I just wanted to pop in here and try to utilize my platform to bring awareness to a few things while I talk about taking a break on posting personal content of my body.
TLDR: I’m taking a break on posting new content for a currently undetermined amount of time due to a recent diagnosis of PCOS and my body adjusting as i have started to begin treatment
If you’ve been around a while, y’all know that I went through a restrictive eating disorder as a teenager and struggled to recover in an environment where I was seen as “starting to get bigger” at the time of buying a size 4 dress for a school dress. That period of recovery then coincided with starting college, leaving that family environment and a number of other things that led to me gaining a significant amount of weight, but ultimately translated to me being at a healthy weight for myself.
However, despite multiple lifestyle changes (in directions that would logically lead to more or less weight gain), I continued to gain in the realm of 10-15 pounds a year during every year of adulthood, in a way that I described as “making total sense until it didn’t”. This went on at the same time as my periods being out of whack, which I originally attributed to birth control, and chronic fatigue that I could always find an excuse for, especially as someone who was a student in higher education until these last two years.
It wasn’t until about a year ago that I became aware that a notable amount of women in my family had PCOS, and that nearly all the bigger women in my family were not just lazy and can’t stick to a diet” like I was led to believe my whole life. Thus started the journey of the last few months for me.
After stopping hormonal birth control and ruling that out as an explanation for my symptoms about 2 years ago, I’ve been working with my doctor and recently settled on a PCOS diagnosis. During my bloodwork, I was found to have significant insulin resistance, which is likely responsible for my body gaining such a notable about of weight. Because of this diagnosis and the bloodwork, I was started on medication to manage my symptoms, which also has the side effect of weight loss. During the last 2ish months, I’ve seen a total change in my symptoms. Regular periods, massive increase in energy levels, and also a notable weight change.
As someone who has spent years working through body neutrality and separating weight from moral value, it’s been fuckin hard. I’ve had to work through emotions of my weight gain being the result of illness, and the grief of fatphobia in my family being a direct cause of me not being diagnosed earlier. It’s so hard to reconcile that my weight loss is good, not because I’m smaller but because it’s treating a symptom of a chronic condition I didn’t even knew I had. There’s also many PCOS spaces that emphasize the moral value of weight loss and spend a lot of time shitting on their bodies before treatment, and tend to focus solely on how their treatment has changed their size, and not much else. On top of that, there’s some level of guilt in being on one of the “skinny meds” (and possibly being on the oh so popular glp-1 meds in the near future) feeling like a betrayal to the body positivity movement I’ve found community in, and a “cheating” method of weight loss to the broader society who treats weight loss as a discipline based skill. Add on the comments from SO many people about my body changing and it’s been hard to work through all the emotions and settle into a point where I’m comfortable with my body.
This has also led to me being even stronger in my boundaries around my size being fetishized. While I was always uncomfortable as someone in recovery, and as someone who never wants my attractiveness linked to my size, it’s also been so frustrating and emotional to see a body that has come from neglect and unnecessary struggle being fetishized for the physical manifestation of that struggle.
So overall I’ve only posted 2 new posts since I’ve started this medication, with only one actually showing a significant amount of my body (any others have been old, reposted content). I’ve always promised myself to never post what I am uncomfortable with, just to keep up popularity and get positive attention so I fully expect this trend to keep up as I become more comfortable with the way that my body is changing. I know that’s what many of you follow me for, and I figured I’d give an explanation that includes bringing awareness to a chronically under-diagnosed condition and giving a place for me to talk through the struggles in my journey so far
I hope yall stick around while this blog is primarily reblogs for the foreseeable future, but if not please take this as your awareness post for PCOS, which, even with a massive lack of information in the medical community leading to crazy amounts of under-diagnosis, is estimated to affect as many as 1 in 5 people with ovaries
#mine#thanks for sticking around if you got to the end!#didn’t realize that would be as fuckin long as it was lol#but it was very cathartic to talk it out#and I have already had one person seek and receive a diagnosis bc of me#so I think it’s super important to bring awareness#communication and awareness is so important w this disorder#bc it’s so seldomly brought up as a possibility unless you’re struggling with infertility#I wouldn’t have sought this without a family member talking to me#so hey if this helps one person bc my experience resonated with them and they get a diagnosis#I’ll be happy#if not?#I still got all that out for my own self

HABITS TO IMPLEMENT IN THE MORNINGS
Hi girls! As a PCOS girly (let me know if you want a post on PCOS 💕), I know how important it is to have healthy morning habits. Mornings influence how your whole day goes, capitalizing on it is the easiest way to start a smooth day!
1. NOT GOING ON UR PHONE RIGHT AWAY
I know how easy it is to fall to temptation and open your phone, but this is one of the worst things you can do to your brain first thing in the morning. Watching a screen first thing in the morning triggers a hormone called cortisol, which spikes your fight or flight. Allow you body 15-20 minutes to adjust before checking your electronic devices.
2. JOURNALING
Something I want to start doing is morning journaling. I don’t know if this is simply for me, but I feel as though my thoughts are fresher as I wake up. Writing down what I’m grateful for puts me in a good mood from the get-go.
3. DOING MY BED
Now I say this, but 90% of the time, I forget to do it 😅.. However, 2024 is the time to implement good habits!! Doing your bed shows discipline in scheduling and gives you a sense of control in the beginning of the day. It is a simply task that shows responsibility and cleanliness.
4. DOING MY MORNING SKINCARE AND HYGIENE ROUTINE
I saw an article that says that brushing your teeth after you eat isn’t good because of all the acid, so I try to brush my teeth before eating. I also give myself some time between brushing my teeth and breakfast so I don’t have that minty breath as I eat.
When it comes to skin care, I try to keep it simple as the more products you use, the less healthy your skin becomes. Here’s what I do (I can post a more in-depth routine if you want 😊):
1. Daily facial cleanser
2. Moisturizer mist
3. Boosting serum
4. SPF
5. Water sleeping mask
6. Under-eye cream
7. Lip repair cream
5. DOING MORNING YOGA
Once again, as PCOS girl, getting my cortisol levels as low as possible is my priority in the morning. Doing yoga reminds my body and hormones to relax and that I am safe. It is also an easy way to get your body moving in the mornings!! I highly encourage starting yoga or somatic exercises :)
6. EATING A BALANCED BREAKFAST
Everyone’s lifestyle looks different, so I’m not here to tell you what to eat/not to eat. You know your body, so fuel it accordingly!! Personally, I enjoy having eggs with cheese paired with either potatoes, oatmeal or yogurt. I’m not huge on fruits unfortunately so I try to get my needed vitamins in gummies or during the summer time, I’ll indulge in mangoes, pineapple and strawberries. I also love applesauces and pastries, but it’s all in moderation. Because of my PCOS, I equally need to watch my insulin levels, but I’m still sure to ALWAYS enjoy my food and indulge in whatever I want to eat. Restrictions do nothing positive and eating what you love is no crime.
so much love,
a girl unfiltered 💋

Frustrated but Reluctantly Supportive: Demise’s reaction would be a mix of frustration at not being able to easily solve the problem and reluctant support. His focus would be on how to practically assist rather than emotional support.
Pragmatic Assistance: He would likely approach the situation with a pragmatic mindset, ensuring that his partner has what they need to manage their symptoms.
Assistance:
Efficient Care: Demise would ensure that his partner receives efficient and effective medical care, possibly utilizing his resources to secure the best treatment options.
Practical Solutions: He would address any practical needs or discomforts, such as ensuring they have proper medical supplies or access to necessary medications.
Scene: Demise stands by his partner’s side, his expression stern but concerned. “I’ve made arrangements for medical assistance and resources,” he says, his tone pragmatic. “Ensure that you follow the prescribed treatments. I’ll see to it that you have everything needed.”
Each Ganondorf and Demise would approach the situation with their own unique blend of support, ranging from practical solutions to more emotionally or traditionally driven assistance.

Ok I gotta bitch about something real quick here.
So, good news first- got a diagnosis. PCOS. I had a feeling (and several of my friend are now correct), but it's good to have a solid "Yeah, this is what's going on here".
But anyway. Kvetch time.
So, my endo is pretty great. She offered to hook me up with their gender specialist, so I might be getting the ball rolling on that soon, which is exciting and terrifying. But we had a call and went over everything. More good news- my levels look great. Everything is normal and my thyroid levels are, quote, "beautiful". But we started talking about PCOS, talked a little bit about HRT. And then she brought up diet stuff, which I imagine is standard.
But what annoyed me was that she was talking about how to adjust what I eat because of "health risks". And so I asked her to clarify for me- is there anything in my labs of concern? And she said no- everything looks fine and dandy. I asked if there is any indication that I should be making any kind of serious changes based on my labs. Again, no. Everything looks good.
So... The only "issue" there is my weight.
My levels are good. I've been in a bit of an experimental "what can I eat that won't upset the void where my gallbladder used to be?" phase, but overall I've been eating the same as I have for years. I did tell her I wanted to work out more and, now that I'm fucking finally fixing my sleep schedule I might actually be able to make time to lift in the mornings.
But what annoyed me was that all of that stuff- good stuff- eating in a way that doesn't upset my intestines, working out more because fuck it I wanna be a strong theydy, the fact that my labs are not only normal but look great... All of it just falls before the fact that I am fat. All of it.
And to be clear, I'm not pissed at my doctor, specifically. I'm pissed because all of it seems so standard. It's the "this is the PCOS spiel" kind of thing- the general stuff that you say. And the annoying thing is that, apparently (and I was already well aware of this but it always sucks to be reminded), it doesn't actually matter what my habits are, what I eat, if I work out or not, how my labs look, at least in the eyes of the general medical standards.
No, what matters is that I am fat, and therefore I am unhealthy and need to change everything- even though literally everything else speaks to the contrary.
And what's even MORE annoying is that... I have PCOS. I have hypothyroid. Those are BOTH conditions that cause weight gain. Those are both conditions that make losing weight even harder than it already fucking is for most people.
So the fact that the medical standards for diagnosing someone with PCOS involve looking at their BMI and determining that they need to change their whole lifestyle solely based on how they look- not on their actual habits, not on their ACTUAL LAB RESULTS, but their weight?
IDK that just annoys me. It pisses me off. It put a damper on the whole "You have an answer finally AND also you're doing really well health wise.... OH but you're fat and so we need to lecture you about your diet and exercise and imply that the reason you should do those things is to lose weight."
#fatphobia#medical fatphhobia#like if anything#if working out goes the way I want it to#i'll probably fucking GAIN weight#because I want my muscles back#like I wish every doctor could be like my gastro#because that man managed to talk to me about diet and exercise#and NOT ONCE#not ONE SINGLE TIME#make it about weight loss#it was 100% all about what would make me feel good#what would be good for my gallbladder/ lack of a gallbladder#what would be easy on my intestines#everything was about making me more comfortable#and keeping me feeling good#NONE of it was about oh this will help you be less fat#and I wish more docs would be like that#and like ok not to ramble in the tags but like#i would 100% understand if my doc was like hey#your cholesterol is high or something#we need to adjust here#but my labs were like#basically perfect#everything within normal ranges#thyroid SMACK in the middle oh it was so nice to see#there was nothing in my labs AT ALL#that indicated anything was wrong#and yet somehow#clearly

What are the Causes of Late Periods? A period is a natural part of a woman's life, and its arrival, or lack thereof, can be a source of curiosity or concern. While a late period might send your mind racing to pregnancy tests, there are numerous reasons why your period might be behind schedule. Let's discuss the world of menstrual cycles and explore the top causes of late periods.
Pregnancy: The Obvious One
We can't ignore the most common reason for a missed period – pregnancy. If you're sexually active and haven't used contraception, a late period could be the first sign of a bun in the oven. However, it's important to note that pregnancy tests might not be conclusive in the very early stages. For accurate results, wait at least a week after a missed period before taking a test. You can also visit or take an online consultation with our specialist doctor Geetanjali Thakur , the best Gynecologist in Karnal.
Hormonal Harmony: When Things Get Out of Sync
Our bodies are like intricate orchestras, and hormones play the lead role in regulating our menstrual cycles. When these hormones get out of sync, it can lead to a late period or even missed periods altogether. Here are some common hormonal culprits:
● Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): PCOS is a hormonal imbalance that affects ovulation, leading to irregular periods or their absence.
● Thyroid Issues: An overactive or underactive thyroid can disrupt hormone production, impacting your cycle.
● Birth Control: Starting, stopping, or switching birth control methods can disrupt your cycle for a few months as your body adjusts to the hormonal changes.
● Perimenopause: As you approach menopause, your estrogen levels naturally decline, leading to irregular periods or their absence.
Lifestyle Choices: Big Impact on Small Cycles
Our daily habits can significantly impact our menstrual health. Here's how some lifestyle choices can cause a late period:
● Stress: Chronic stress wreaks havoc on our hormones, including those regulating periods.
● Weight Fluctuations: Dramatic weight loss or gain can disrupt ovulation and lead to irregular periods.
● Excessive Exercise: While exercise is great for overall health, excessive workouts can put stress on your body and cause missed periods.
● Diet: Crash diets or restrictive eating habits can deprive your body of essential nutrients needed for a regular cycle.
Medical Conditions: When Other Factors Come into Play
Certain medical conditions can also affect your menstrual cycle and you should search Gynecologist dr near me and get the best solution, here are a few examples:
● Chronic illnesses: Conditions like diabetes, celiac disease, and autoimmune diseases can disrupt hormone regulation and lead to irregular periods.
● Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID): This infection of the reproductive organs can cause irregular periods.
● Uterine fibroids: These benign tumors in the uterus can sometimes cause heavy or irregular periods.
When to See a Doctor
While a late period is sometimes nothing to worry about, there are situations where it's best to consult a Gynecologist near you. Here are some red flags:
● You miss multiple periods in a row (especially if you're not pregnant or breastfeeding).
● Your periods are unusually heavy or painful.
● You experience abnormal vaginal bleeding.
● You have sudden weight loss or gain.
● You suspect you might have an underlying medical condition.
Taking Charge of Your Cycle
Understanding your menstrual cycle and its potential disruptions empowers you to make informed choices about your health. Here are some tips for keeping your cycle on track:
● Maintain a healthy weight.
● Eat a balanced diet.
● Manage stress effectively.
● Exercise regularly, but don't overdo it.
● Track your periods using a calendar or app.
● Talk openly with your doctor about any concerns.
Remember, a late period doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. However, if you're concerned, don't hesitate to consult a Gynecologist near me. They can help you determine the cause and recommend the best course of action.

Honestly I was rooting for richard and dougs to stay together. And now that they have a baby coming, so excited for them!
Me too! I had really thought that Dougs was pregnant a few months back when she was on a hiatus from Instagram, but then she came back and wasn't pregnant. But I think maybe that hiatus was when she was diagnosed with PCOS, so she was taking time to learn about it and to adjust her lifestyle to the illness. But honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if they had been trying to start a family for a while now, and I'm just so happy it's coming to fruition for them 🥹

Sarasota Regenerative Medicine | Sarasota +1 941–773–6456 | What Hidden Benefits Can a Sarasota Weight Loss Doctor Unlock for You?
Achieving weight loss goals is often a challenging journey that requires more than just exercise and diet changes. Many individuals find themselves struggling to reach their desired weight despite their best efforts. This is where a Sarasota weight loss doctor can truly make a difference. Beyond the common approach of dieting and exercising, these medical professionals offer unique strategies and support that can unlock hidden benefits for your weight loss journey. In this article, we’ll explore the ways a Sarasota weight loss doctor can enhance your overall health and help you achieve lasting results.
1. Personalized Weight Loss Plans Tailored to Your Needs
One of the most significant advantages of working with a Sarasota weight loss doctor is the ability to receive a personalized weight loss plan. Unlike generic diet trends or one-size-fits-all fitness routines, a weight loss doctor takes into account your specific health conditions, lifestyle, and goals. This individualized approach ensures that you’re following a plan that is both safe and effective.
A Sarasota weight loss doctor may conduct a series of tests to evaluate your metabolism, hormone levels, and overall health. Based on this information, they can design a customized diet plan, exercise routine, and even suggest supplements or medications that are best suited for your unique needs. This tailored approach helps you avoid the trial and error that often comes with trying different weight loss programs, saving time and improving results.
2. Medical Supervision to Ensure Safe and Sustainable Weight Loss
While many people resort to drastic diets or extreme exercise regimens to lose weight quickly, these methods often lead to unsustainable results or even health risks. A Sarasota weight loss doctor offers medical supervision to ensure that you’re losing weight safely and in a manner that’s sustainable long term.
Through regular check-ins and monitoring, a weight loss doctor ensures that you’re progressing without putting unnecessary strain on your body. They can adjust your plan as needed, whether it’s modifying your exercise routine to avoid injury or fine-tuning your diet to prevent nutritional deficiencies. This medical oversight helps you stay on track while safeguarding your health throughout the process.
3. Addressing Underlying Medical Conditions
Sometimes, weight gain or difficulty losing weight is linked to underlying medical conditions. Conditions like hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can make it harder to shed pounds, despite dieting and exercising. A Sarasota weight loss doctor has the expertise to identify and manage these conditions effectively.
By diagnosing any underlying medical issues that may be hindering your weight loss progress, a weight loss doctor can recommend treatments or medications that address the root cause. This targeted approach not only helps you lose weight but also improves your overall health by managing chronic conditions more effectively.
4. Psychological Support to Overcome Emotional Eating
Weight loss is not just a physical journey—it’s also an emotional one. Many people struggle with emotional eating, where stress, anxiety, or other emotions trigger overeating. A Sarasota weight loss doctor recognizes the importance of addressing the mental aspects of weight loss.
These professionals may work with therapists or behavioral specialists to help you develop a healthier relationship with food. By teaching you how to manage emotional triggers and practice mindful eating, they can help you avoid emotional eating and stay focused on your long-term weight loss goals. This support can significantly enhance your ability to make lasting changes in your eating habits and overall lifestyle.
5. Expert Guidance on Nutritional Choices and Supplements
Nutrition plays a crucial role in weight loss, but it can be challenging to navigate the endless stream of dietary advice available online. A Sarasota weight loss doctor provides expert guidance on what to eat, how much to eat, and when to eat, ensuring that your nutritional choices align with your weight loss goals.
In addition to creating a balanced diet plan, a Sarasota weight loss doctor can recommend supplements that may support your efforts. This could include vitamins, minerals, or even weight loss medications that enhance your metabolism or curb cravings. With the right nutritional support, you can fuel your body properly while optimizing your weight loss results.
6. Increased Motivation and Accountability
Losing weight is often easier said than done, and many people struggle with staying motivated throughout their journey. A Sarasota weight loss doctor can serve as a source of motivation and accountability, helping you stay on track even when the going gets tough.
By setting clear goals and checking in with you regularly, a weight loss doctor helps you stay focused on your objectives. Knowing that you have someone who understands your challenges and is invested in your success can give you the boost of motivation you need to keep going. This sense of accountability makes it less likely that you’ll abandon your goals and more likely that you’ll stay committed to the process.
7. Improved Overall Health and Wellness
Weight loss is often associated with improved health markers, such as reduced blood pressure, better cholesterol levels, and a lower risk of chronic conditions like heart disease and diabetes. Understanding Period Problems in Teenage Girls: Causes, Concerns, and Solutions
Periods can be challenging for teenage girls, with many experiencing discomfort and irregularities that cause both physical and emotional strain. During adolescence, a girl’s body undergoes significant hormonal changes, which often brings about period-related issues such as irregular cycles, cramps, and heavy bleeding. In this article, we will delve into common period problems faced by teenage girls, why these issues can be particularly concerning for them, and how Dr. Gayatri Kar Soni, one of the Best gynaecologist for Periods problems in south Delhi, can offer solutions and support.
Why Do Teenage Girls Experience Period Problems?
The menstrual cycle in teenage girls is influenced by a variety of biological and environmental factors, and it can take years for their cycles to regulate. Here are some common reasons:
Hormonal Imbalance The onset of puberty brings a surge in hormones, which can lead to irregular periods. The body is still adjusting to these changes, which can result in inconsistent or even missed periods, especially in the first few years after menarche (the first period).
Stress and Lifestyle Factors The pressures of academic life, social dynamics, and physical changes can cause stress, which may disrupt a girl’s menstrual cycle. Additionally, irregular sleeping patterns, poor nutrition, and lack of exercise can also impact menstrual health.
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) A common condition among teenage girls, PCOS leads to hormonal imbalances that can cause irregular periods, excess hair growth, acne, and sometimes weight gain. PCOS requires medical diagnosis and treatment to help manage these symptoms effectively.
Diet and Body Weight Extreme weight loss, gain, or restrictive diets can impact a girl’s menstrual cycle. A balanced diet is essential to maintaining a regular period, as the body needs adequate nutrition to support healthy hormone production.
Underlying Health Conditions Conditions such as thyroid disorders, diabetes, and other hormonal imbalances can contribute to irregular or painful periods. These conditions often require medical intervention to regulate hormone levels.
Common Period Problems in Teenage Girls
Teenage girls frequently encounter the following period issues:
Irregular Periods: During the early years of menstruation, cycles may be inconsistent. This irregularity is generally normal but can sometimes indicate an underlying condition.
Painful Periods (Dysmenorrhea): Menstrual cramps are common, but severe cramps can interfere with daily activities and cause distress.
Heavy Menstrual Bleeding (Menorrhagia): Excessive bleeding can lead to fatigue, anemia, and other health complications.
Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS): Many girls experience mood swings, bloating, and other symptoms before their periods, which can impact their mental and emotional well-being.
Why Are Period Problems a Concern for Teenage Girls?
Teenage girls often worry about their periods for several reasons:
Discomfort and Physical Pain: Pain and cramps can disrupt their routine, affecting school attendance, social activities, and even self-esteem.
Fear of Stigmatization: Discussing periods is often still seen as taboo in some social circles. Many girls feel uncomfortable talking about their concerns, which can lead to anxiety and confusion.
Impact on Mental Health: PMS, mood swings, and hormonal changes can lead to emotional ups and downs, making teenage girls more vulnerable to stress, anxiety, and sometimes depression.
Concerns About Future Fertility: Girls experiencing irregular periods or conditions like PCOS may worry about their future reproductive health.
Misconceptions and Lack of Knowledge: Many teens receive limited education on menstrual health and may not fully understand what is normal, making them more prone to unnecessary worry about their symptoms.

Extremely painful cramps that interfere with daily activities
Heavy bleeding that lasts more than seven days
Periods occurring more than once a month or less than once every three months
