As stated before Rowan is not from Eorzea. Neither is Akari for that matter. They both hale from a community founded by adventurers. One that is pretty divorced from what is seen as traditional.

I mention this as Rowan knew both his parents and both were active in his life. However, due to certain events, some of which Rowan even now is not privy to, his blood father tended to be absent. Playing a part in the rather complicated feelings he has about the man.

It also has effected his outlook and his relationship to others.

Maybe he believed he could confide into Bilbo because he felt like he wasn't responsible for his safety in the same way he felt responsible for his nephews or his kin (as their King), and he no longer need to mantain any sort of formalities or barriers with him (because Thorin is not. his. King).

sorry I just refuse to believe Thorin doesn't love his nephews as much as he loves Bilbo (someone who he'd only known for 6~ months at that point) and I think there's a lot of better ways to explain his behavior here

presumably, one of the main issues Roger has with running the factory is inaction/procrastination, something that often stems from self-control issues. That fits well with his previously established addiction struggles, something that also tends to come from self-control issues. idk it's just a nice touch of character writing and I think about it more than is normal. or even reasonable, maybe.

There are multiple capsules in Greys room laying face up and the glass is broken, and given Pandora said Grey was going through the mind control sequence, this all but fully confirms the evil mega men we see using the guardian biometals are under mind control and awoke out of these capsules before Grey.

This is information I don’t know how to fucking process.
