Despite her own, very public advice against it, Yuna Rochester found herself walking home alone just a few nights afterwards. It had happened nearly before she'd registered what was going on; one moment she, Tim, and a small handful of her boyfriend's friends had been drinking at Oliviera's Speakeasy, laughing and chatting as they enjoyed the legal "illegal" ambiance and drinks, and the next she found herself stumbling down the darkened street, crowds nearly nonexistent at the late-- she checked her phone. 3:22 a.m. Fuuuuuck. She was getting wellness checked tomorrow-- today for sure. In the warm, floaty, hazily happy space her mind was in, worrying too much about that was impossible. Yuna had made it through those before, independence intact. Things were going to be fiiiine. She was fiiiiiiiine. Better than fine, even, with the amount of xeno-infused booze in her system.
She hiccupped, and her breath swam with jasmine and thyme. It was an intoxicating blend, custom made by Oliviera herself to ornament her subterranean bar. Had she really been drinking with Rod and the others for five hours? And why was she on her own? She racked her memory, but it was like trying to find puzzle-pieces in luminous amber, and her mind just seemed to slide right off of them. For her troubles, the curb veered towards her and she narrowly avoided tripping over it, cursing. How rude of it! Yuna gave it a kick. Dumb sidewalk. That made her giggle, but she had enough presence of mind to realize that she probably needed to get directions home.
Yuna reached for her phone, and had a momentary flash of panic to find that it wasn't in her pocket. Fuck. Had she left it at the Speakeasy? If so, Olive would probably deliver it by hand while being gently flirtatious, marvel of a bartender that she was. She was the only affini Yuna really respected, liked even, and her establishment had was one of the few places that never felt like it was designed to coax her into a collar. There was a reason Tim and his friends had taken to drinking there. Unlocking the phone in her hand, she navigated to telecom app and selected Olive's name before pausing. Sparks of anxiety and something more flashed through her gut. It was never a good idea to be too cute and helpless around an affini, even one you trusted, unless you were aiming for a wardship at the very least. But-- Olive was different. Her eyes that always seemed to contain the suspicion of a smile, the quips that felt almost subversive amidst Compact dogma, the perpetually smoldering incense-vines she had growing from herself. Stars. She was safe but exciting, comforting but still razor sharp. Yuna would be lying to herself if she'd never wondered what it would be like to--
Oh hey! Her phone was right there in her hand! She seized on the realization, the distraction, embarrassing as it was, to free her mind from the routes it HADN'T been going down. Her cheeks felt like they'd caught on fire. Sitting down on the sidewalk to steady herself, she firmly compartmentalized all those fantasies she HADN'T been having from her mind. She was drunk, and the mind wandered while drunk. Everybody knew that. The thoughts didn't mean anything, and besides, her boyfriend Tim would be furious with her for thinking them. She was just drunk. Nothing more.
And far from home. Frosts. She needed to get back quickly. Looking at her phone, the half-hour had already passed. She'd barely moved ten feet in the last eight minutes. With how inebriated she clearly was, it was incredibly fortunate that nobody else was around. Having an affini see her like this would be a nightmare, a disaster, a death-knell to the freedom she'd been learning to value so highly. Standing shakily, she pocketed her phone and stepped forwards.
Directly into a mass of vines. What? Yuna put her hands forward, feeling them. Her mind was struggling to process the input, and, accidentally pushing too hard, she stumbled backwards. A hand(?) shot out, lightning quick, and kept her from bruising her rear on the concrete. It was soft on her back, and she let herself just hang there for a moment, blinking up at the affini silhouetted against a streetlight.
The affini. Fuck. Panic cut through the intoxication in an icy slash, only to be re-consumed by the amber fugue as it closed back in. What remained was still fear, but distant, hazy, nearly incorporeal. She shied away from the figure anyways, turning her body in an attempt to fall from their hand. It merely shifted and retained its grasp.
"Yuna Rochester?" The voice was musical, melodious, laced with a firmness that brooked no defiance. However much amusement flowed from the delivery, it left no doubt that the figure knew exactly who they were.
Yuna blinked, frozen, mouth opening and closing wordlessly. Implications and anxieties tried to pile up, only to sink into the bubbling, drugged froth of her mind. The affini smiled down at the sight, a friendly mask cloaking its predatory intent.
"My name is Wisteria Salashi, Fourth Bloom, she/they. We've met once before."
The dots began connecting in Yuna's mind. It wasn't a quick process. Fuck. Wait. "You're the- the one who got Andy!" Her friend had been domesticated just over a month prior, ensnared by this very affini. Their personal connection suddenly made the interaction feel far more dangerous. She began squirming, thrashing, trying to break free. The affini just flashed her thorny teeth, mask dissolving as the grin extended entirely too far along her face.
"So she does recognize me. I was worried Oliviera had sent you to me with your mind fully gone." Wait. Wait wait wait wait wait. Olive had- "Which would have made things a tiny bit easier, but much less fun for me." Fuck. Wisteria drew closer, her face inches from Yuna's. Ginger assaulted her sinuses, and Yuna turned her head away from Wisteria's brilliant eyes. This was bad. This was really bad. "Awww, so adorable. You're still trying to resist." Her voice hissed through the rows and rows of teeth, fake breath cool across Yuna's cheek. "I thought you knew that 'If an affini decides that it wants you, it is already too late.'"
Yuna's own words. Her own post. She'd read them so many times over the past days as the responses and reposts had come in. People thanking her. People teasing and mocking her, or saying they'd follow it in reverse. The post being temporarily removed by the affini site admins, before being put back up as "an example." She should have expected something like this. She HAD expected something like this, before- before-
Olive had persuaded her to stay late, prepared her special drinks to help with the anxiety, convinced the others that she'd make sure Yuna got home safely. They had all trusted her. Helplessness and betrayal boiled through Yuna's chest, welling up in a tidal wave that threatened to drown her. It too was swallowed by the drugged ditzyness, but with it went every drop of resistance she might have once mustered. There was no hope. She had lost. Like Andy, and Molly, and so many others. The words of Rodrigo, one of Tim's friends, flitted through her mind. 'We're just wayward property to them,' he'd said. 'With no real rights or moral value.' At the time, she'd found it a little too... feralist for her tastes. Now she realized he'd been right.
At the shake of a vine, she would become property. Yuna whimpered at the thought, trembling. Her fight was gone. Wisteria looked almost disappointed. "You terrans break too quickly for my tastes," she spoke, almost confessionally. "I'd hoped that someone involved in a feralist pack would be able to take a little bit more. So much for the 'indominable human spirit,' or whatever it is you free terranists believe." Yuna whimpered again, shifting to try and bury her face against the hand holding her.
Wisteria sighed. "You are undeniably adorable, though." Her other hand gently lifted to stroke Yuna's head, vines and feathery tendrils flowing out through her hair, kneading her scalp. It felt incredible, especially with whatever Olive had put into her system. She felt to drugged and broken to not let herself enjoy it at least a little, even while shying away from the terrifying affini form. Wisteria hummed softly with a level of contentment.
"I'm not going to domesticate you, little acorn. Oliviera would scold me if I did, and the NFPO knows you just fell into a rough crowd. We're not after you." Wisteria's tone was conciliatory, if patronizing. For some reason, that comforted her.
"You're not?" Frosts, somehow she felt small again, like she'd been caught breaking some rule and been forgiven. Another vine snaked up and wiped away the tears she didn't realize she'd been crying.
Yuna's mind was still fuzzy and overwhelmed, but a spark of hope had reignited. Her fears weren't coming to pass. Looking up, she found that Wisteria had pulled back, softened her features once again. A glimmer of disappointment still remained in her eyes, but her visage was nearly apologetic. Maybe she would let her go? Maybe Yuna had a way out?
"Of course not, my fragile girl. Oliviera is. I'm just here to turn you into an unwitting double agent, because it'll be so much more fun to break your feralist friends slowly!"
She was too tired for the icy fear to make much of a dent this time, to be phased by the gleam that returned to Wisteria's eyes. The spark had been quenched. Her chest trembled once again, tears threatening the corners of her eyes. But Olive's xenodrugs helped take care of that too. They'd probably been designed to, Yuna realized idly, apathetically. How kind of her. At that thought, the apathy burst into a little giggle. Here she was, situation hopeless, about to be turned against her friends by alien invaders, irrevocably drawn into a tangled jungle of affini schemes, and there was nothing she could do about any of it. A golden bubble of despairing mirth began to grow in her abdomen, fueled by the carbonated surrender swirling through her system. At least it wouldn't be a mean affini like Wisteria who got her. That thought prompted another giggle, the absurdity of the thought compounding on itself.
Wisteria watched her with an expression of profound amusement. This didn't seem to be the reaction she had hoped for, but it wasn't an unpleasant one for the affini. She shook her head, a far nicer smile drawing across her face. "Seems like Oliviera has you well in hand, even without a collar on you yet. But it's getting late, and it would be irresponsible for me to keep you much longer." Yuna felt a quick pinching sensation in their side, and the last thing they knew was a glorious numbness and the gleam of Wisteria's eyes.
Yuna Rochester woke up in her bed the next day, head still hazy from sleep. Her alarm clock was blaring, and she stared at it blearily, far too tired. How late had she gotten home? On her desk she saw a handwritten note, pinned underneath a glass of something the colour of honey. She chugged it without thinking, and a wave of cool, refreshing alertness swept through her body, driving sleep away. Little sparking bubbles of pleasure blipped in and out of her muscles, an aftereffect of tingling joy. She sighed, stretching her back and reaching for the paper. It was from Olive. Her cheeks flushed.
Good morning, sleepy head! I couldn't leave the Speakeasy last night (you know how it is! always busy) so had a friend take care of you. Apologies for keeping you so late, but you seemed like you were enjoying yourself. Hope the drink helps. P.S. Feel free to come back any time! Even without your friends! It was great chatting with you ;)
Yuna clutched the letter to her chest, and committed to do just that.

Dark Wire by Joseph Cox (photo from here, description from the publisher's site).
The inside story of the largest law-enforcement sting operation ever, in which the FBI made its own tech start-up to wiretap the world, shows how cunning both the authorities and drug traffickers have become, with privacy implications for everyone. In 2018, a powerful app for secure communications called Anom took root among organized criminals. They believed Anom allowed them to conduct business in the shadows. Except for one thing: it was secretly run by the FBI.    Backdoor access to Anom and a series of related investigations granted American, Australian, and European authorities a front-row seat to the underworld. Tens of thousands of criminals worldwide appeared in full view of the same agents they were trying to evade. International smugglers. Money launderers. Hitmen. A sprawling global economy as efficient and interconnected as the legal one. Officers watched drug shipments and murder plots unfold, making arrests without blowing their cover. But, as the FBI started to lose control of Anom, did the agency go too far?   A painstakingly investigated exposé, Dark Wire reveals the true scale and stakes of this unprecedented operation through the agents and crooks who were there. This fly-on-the-wall thriller is a caper for our modern world, where no one can be sure who is listening in.
Tumblr media
i really liked this one! cox did a really good job of slowly unfurling the extremely technical details as they became relevant, instead of one horrible infodump near the beginning, and has a real gift for humanizing little anecdotes that illustrate the concept. he's also dryly funny in a very british way, eg the transition between one paragraph describing a very talented olive oil salesman and his lifestyle to how that olive oil processing covered up drug labs with the sentence "But Catanzariti didn't stay with olives; he pivoted instead to methamphetamine." i loooooove reading about how the drug trade gets around customs. i love edge cases and figuring out why things fail. i truly think some of the finest materials engineers of our time are out there trying to figure out how to get cocaine into australia.
this is deeply reported in a way that's very different from a lot of popsci and pop-history books that annoy me: this is NOT a book where it feels like the author is simply padding out a wikipedia page, supplemented with articles he's already written. he's been on this beat since 2016 and it shows: he has quotes from hundreds of people on many sides of the drug war. something i also appreciate is that cox is not automatically, rabidly pro-cop; he does not gloss over the very real tortures and kidnappings and all the other nasty realities of the global drug trade, and frequently shows how much overreach and entrapment took place during this whole endeavor. i particularly liked a chapter where he flipped back and forth from various law enforcement officials assuring him they of course complied with all relevant privacy laws and blacklisted anyone using it for simple secure communications, and lawyers telling cox "no the cops very much did spy on my privileged communication with my clients and i know this because these texts came up in court". also gratifying to read about some cases overturned or thrown out, in the odd case a judge decided it looked too much like entrapment.
i feel like i devoured this book SO fast but it's a solid 352 pages in hardcover. i also had to wait a good two months on the libby holds lists so there is strong interest in this book! good for cox!
how did i find this book: it's austin underscore walker's fault. they used to be coworkers at vice and cox and three others broke off last year to found 404 Media, which has had an absolutely crazy amount of real-world impact for the size (again! four people!) and how long they've been around. rip vice. wish u did better by your people.

the temporary summer event in genshin impact is very darling this year-- there are big indie game vibes and unlocking every chest is a little more complicated or has a little bit more story attached than usual. very excited to see if this continues with the next big update that introduces a whole new land.
i also like that they've picked An Art Style to work with-- everything is very toy-like or origami. not that genshin doesn't have a distinct art style, but playing around with something less realistic is fun!

NAME: Rex
PRONOUNS : He/Him
PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION : Discord please. Tumblr IMs vanish from my brain the moment I close up the app. Admittedly, so do Discord IMs because of the new format, but, at least on Discord I'm not jumping through multiple blogs to answer messages.
NAME OF MUSE(s) : Proton. . . God's silliest soldier.
BEST EXPERIENCE : My best roleplay experience with Proton specifically? I mean I'm legally obligated to say that it's been with my girlfriend @reiketsui. I've been able to make a lot of friends and share a lot of my beloved lore thanks to this muse, but, choosing to bring Proton back as a muse after retiring him for several years is how I got to bond with Olive. :') Our ship is very precious to me, same with all of our threads on Discord, and asks on Tumblr. So that's an automatic win.
RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS : People that treat my villains like punching bags/people who don't ask me before deciding that 'hey, your villain character caused irreparable trauma to my muse in the past, so our entire IC interaction is going to be me projecting all of these problems onto your character.' I consent to being the target of grievances as a villain writer. What I don't consent to, is being treated like angst fuel and nothing else beyond that.
MUSE PREFERENCES: Queer, mentally ill characters that might have had interactions with the supernatural.
PLOTS OR MEMES : Send ask box memes if you want casual interactions. Plot with me if you want ongoing, strong interactions.
LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : I mean, I like both. I'm a busy guy, I work 40 hours a week and require a lot of downtime because of the nature of my job, so sometimes it's difficult for me to keep up with more than a few long replies at a time. So if you're willing to be patient with me, I'd love to write longer stuff with you. But, if you notice on this blog, threads are VERY, VERY slow.
BEST TIME TO WRITE : Afternoon/evenings.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) : I REALLY HOPE NOT. . .

Oliver Graves Is a Narcissistic Abuser Who Sexually Assaulted Me
In the spring of last year, I briefly dated the comedian Oliver Graves. During the course of the relationship, I was subject to constant criticism and cruelty, financial exploitation, gaslighting, emotional/mental abuse, and two different acts of sexual assault.
I also learned that Oliver Graves is a racist who uses the N-word, a misogynist who speaks ill of most women and uses charged language to describe them, and a transphobe who misgendered his nonbinary ex and insisted their identity was illegitimate, artificial, or merely a response to childhood trauma.
I was not going to publicly speak out against him or seek any sort justice, even though his actions warranted it. Why? Because I am scared of him. His previous ex — the one he misgendered and mocked to me, whilst also inappropriately sharing their personal childhood trauma — had spoken out against him and accused him of narcissistic abuse. He had retaliated against them by using DARVO tactics. It seemed to work, successfully silencing them. When I met him, he continued to claim that this ex was the actual abuser in the relationship. But having experienced his abuse first-hand, I fully believe his ex was telling the truth and I can attest that he is, in fact, a narcissistic abuser.
After what he did to his ex, I am frightened to speak out. This man knows my address. He had previously ‘joked’ to me about going to the house of one of his other exes and playing a cruel prank on her simply because she suffered from mental illness and had ‘led him on’/been a ‘tease.’ I am genuinely scared that he might hurt me, especially considering he has shown himself to be combative and abusive, and he is 6’6. I also worry about him encouraging his fanbase to attack and bully me, which is what he seems to have done to the ex who previously spoke out against him.
Nonetheless, I feel I must share this story because he has chosen to speak publicly about me via a YouTube video, which was riddled with falsehoods, inaccuracies, extreme exaggerations, half-truths, glaring omissions, and outright lies. The video was a prime example of DARVO. Now I want to set the record straight.
(Side note: I encourage you not to watch the video, or any of his videos. But if you’re going to, I suggest viewing it on yewtu.be instead. That way, he won’t get any views from it.)
I met him on a dating app. He was lying about his age and pretending to be in his early thirties. I’m in my early twenties. After we got together, he revealed that he lied about his age. If you Google him, you’ll find the birth date of 13 April 1990, but that is just a random day he chose for the ‘character’ of Oliver Graves. In actuality, he’s in his late 30s. I never did learn his actual age because he was continually cagey about it and dodged the question, claiming he ‘couldn’t remember,’ but he seems to be between the ages of 37 and 39.
Again: I am in my early 20s. Prior to dating him, I had no relationship or sexual experience. I had no frame of reference for any of it. He knew this and exploited it.
He also gave me a fake name twice. It took him a while to finally tell me his real first name, and much longer to reveal his surname. Meanwhile, I was open and honest with him about my full legal name. The only thing I ever lied about was my address, and I only did that because I was advised by friends/family not to tell anonymous men on dating apps my real address until I got to know them. Once I felt I knew him well enough, I immediately came clean, told him where I actually lived and explained my reasoning. His claim in the video that I was some sort of habitual liar is not only completely false (as you can see by the way he stumbles when trying to think of any examples of my ‘lies’), but is also a projection on his part. He is a constant liar. I will share more examples later on.
On our first date, when I was heavily intoxicated, he squeezed my thighs so hard that he left bruises. He did this in public, at a bar. Then, when I got into his car afterwards, he did not immediately take me home in spite of my intoxicated state. Instead, he drove to the parking lot of an empty park and pulled his penis out of his pants. I was encouraged to play with it. In my drunken state, I did not mind doing this. I thought he wanted a hand-job and I didn’t realize this was unusual behaviour because I was intoxicated and I had no prior dating/sexual experience. However, I did NOT want to perform oral sex. But that didn’t matter to him, because shortly after exposing himself to me, he grabbed the back of my head and forcefully pushed my face into his lap and my mouth onto his erection.
The entire time, I felt deeply uncomfortable. I remember staring out the car window and waiting for it to be over, wondering how I’d ended up in this situation. I blamed myself. At the time, I did not think of it as sexual assault because I had let him direct me to playing with his penis and had made out with him at the bar, so I thought I was at fault.
He used my mouth for a while before masturbating himself, at which point I made up an excuse so that he wouldn’t ejaculate in me or on me. That night, he didn’t. But the next date, he would.
Because I blamed myself and did not accept the reality of the sexual assault, I continued talking to him. I think a part of me wanted the relationship to work because I somehow thought that would make what happened to me OK. Make it seem better in hindsight.
Furthermore, I was led to believe that what had happened was no big deal because of the way he spoke about it. He joked about how he’d had to ‘shove my head down’ and that he hadn’t ‘given me a choice’ on whether or not to perform oral. He said these things as if they were funny, like what he did was one big joke and not an intentional act of assault. And he brought it up unprompted. His jokes, again, made me feel like I had said or done something that counted as consent.
The day after our first date, during a Discord call, he started to pick on me. He told me, at length, about other attractive people he’d dated or wanted to date, and insinuated he found them more desirable than me. By this point, he was aware of my insecurities, but he did not care. I don’t remember everything he said during the call, but I know that I left it feeling sick to my stomach. A day earlier, he’d sexually assaulted me, and now he was negging me and making me feel inferior/unattractive.
After he’d undermined my confidence and made me feel terrible about myself — like I wasn’t good enough or pretty enough, the very day after having been forced to blow him — I wrote him a message explaining how deeply hurt and insulted I was by the things he’d said. He responded by accusing me of acting like his ex (the one he claimed was abusive). He did not take responsibility, nor clarify his comments in a positive or meaningful way, nor apologise. At that point, I chose to break things off.
However, soon after, the weight of the sexual assault settled in. I needed to date him to make it OK. I needed to be on good terms with him so I didn’t have to reckon with the fact that I’d been victimised, that my first date — first kiss — first sexual experience had been with an abusive monster.
For these reasons, I went back to him. He didn’t apologise to me, but I apologised to him for having gotten upset over his remarks. I accepted his version of events: that I’d overreacted, that I’d been hysterical, that he’d done nothing wrong. It was easier to swallow those lies than to confront the truth.
He continued to say and do things that undermined my confidence, always taking a passive-aggressive approach that left me questioning myself, my sanity, my sensitivity. Was I overthinking? Was I taking offense where none was intended? Was it my own fault that my feelings were hurt? He had me conditioned to accept constant criticism and casual cruelty, and to gaslight myself into thinking it was normal and that I was the problem for getting upset.
One of the ways he did this was by letting me know, repeatedly, that my weight didn’t please him. Oliver Graves is a fat fetishist and, at the time we were dating, I weighed barely 120 lbs. He knew this before he started dating me — the first question he asked me on the dating app was about how thin I was — and yet he went out with me anyway. Why? Because he also had a feeder fetish. He made it clear that he wanted me to binge-eat an enormous amount of unhealthy foods while he watched in order to sate his fetish, and that the relationship might not work out if I didn’t rapidly gain weight — 100 lbs or more. He often spoke of the 300 lb person he’d slept with, like this was the ideal I should be aiming for. He didn’t care about my health, my body dysmorphia, my past issues with disordered eating. He just wanted me to satisfy his toxic fetishes, at the expense of my own physical and mental well-being.
Over time, I learned more about him and began to see what an awful person he truly was. In addition to bashing his ex and telling me all about their abusive childhood — information I should not have been privy to — he also bragged about using the N-word, and he said it whilst on a call with me. When I pushed back on this, he told me he was ‘allowed’ to use it because a few black comedians had told him he could. I don’t believe that story, first of all, but even if it’s true — which is a big if — black people are not a monolith, and ‘a couple black comics’ obviously does not equate to the entire black community.
He spoke ill of many women, both ones he dated or just encountered. He made strange, disconcerting comments about the age of consent. He repeatedly ‘joked’ that Mel B, one of the judges on America’s Got Talent during his season, was on drugs, and that Heidi Klum was too stupid to understand his humour. He did not, however, speak ill of either of the other judges, both of whom were men.
He frequently referred to women as bitches and he made comments about having an Asian and Latina fetish. As for his AFAB nonbinary ex, he fetishized their Asian ethnicity while also making derogatory comments about their appearance, comparing their face to that of an ugly dog, and saying that he did not believe they were truly nonbinary.
He insinuated he thought that the reason his ex used they/them pronouns was simply for attention or as a result of childhood trauma that ‘made [them] not want to be a girl’ — but he didn’t say ‘them,’ he misgendered the person instead.
He was also very manipulative. A prime example of this is how he would cry in order to get his way. Once, we were having a discussion about a movie. We disagreed on its meaning and the discussion soon turned to a debate. I kept a clear, calm head the entire time, but he became enraged when I did not agree with his interpretation.
He raised his voice and yelled at me, belittled and insulted me, repeatedly suggesting that my social skills were so terrible that it was like I’d never ‘spoken to another human being before’ (side note: he was aware my social skills were an insecurity of mine). Again: I never yelled back, never raised my voice, never said anything mean in return. The only thing I said, very calmly, was that he was hurting my feelings and I didn’t understand why he kept repeating the question ‘have you ever spoken to a human being before?’
Finally, when raging at me didn’t work, he burst into dramatic tears and told me the reason he was upset wasn’t because of the movie we were discussing but rather because of his comedy style and the fact that people delegitimised it. To be clear, we had never discussed his comedy style, performance, or career at any point during this conversation. I was blindsided so much that I initially thought he was joking. But then, by using his tears and talking about how no one believed in his comedy and ‘that’s what this is really about,’ he successfully manipulated me into soothing him and mindlessly agreeing with him and profusely apologising, even though I’d done nothing wrong and his emotional outburst had nothing to do with me.
He also financially exploited me. He insisted to me that he was broke, even though he was living comfortably with his parents and was being financially supported by them, and so I paid for everything on our dates and also sent him $150 over Venmo because he made his situation sound so dire. This was in spite of the fact that I was much younger and, during the time I was dating him, barely scraping by myself. He never thanked me for paying, nor did he thank me for the Venmo payment. He was so entitled that he seemed to just expect it from me. And what’s worse, after I paid for both our dates, he sexually assaulted me each time.
On our second date, we went to another bar and he insulted me, saying something about how he was attracted to mediocrity and that I was ‘an example of that.’ He then said this was ‘just a joke’ and even though it hurt me tremendously, I just swallowed the pain and said nothing.
Afterwards, when I was sufficiently intoxicated, he repeated the pattern of the first date. He took me to the same parking lot of the same deserted park and unzipped his pants. This time, not wanting him to force my head down again, I just wordlessly obeyed and performed oral sex. I tried to minimise it as much as possible by using my hand too. When he was getting close, I switched to my hand. But then he suddenly, without warning or asking for permission, grabbed the back of my head and again shoved my face into his lap. He forced my mouth on his penis while he ejaculated. I was so confused and sexually inexperienced that I didn’t even realise what was happening at first.
Again, I did not let myself accept that this was a violation. I told myself it was fine because I had willingly — or somewhat willingly — performed oral sex and masturbated him. Even though I felt filthy and horrible afterwards, I convinced myself that it was just me being overly sensitive yet again and that he’d done nothing wrong, just as I’d convinced myself so many times before.
Yet another pattern repeated itself the following day, when — just like our first date — he called me up to again say cruel things to me.
This time, instead of my appearance, he focused on a different insecurity: my belief that I was socially inept or clumsy. He told me everything I’d done wrong during our date, critiquing every minor interaction or mistake I’d made, criticising the way I’d interacted with him or others, going on at length about how stupid it was of me to briefly leave my purse by itself on our table while we were playing pool a few feet away. He tore me apart, knowing full well just how insecure I was about this topic, to the point where he actually made me cry.
Unlike him, I did not want to use my tears as a weapon or tool to manipulate, so once I felt myself on the verge of crying, I simply told him I had to go in a small voice, then hung up and cried alone in my bedroom whilst all his cruel words replayed in my head.
He was aware that I’d ended the call to cry in private and he criticised me for that too, saying that I should’ve stayed on the line. Once I’d collected myself, I wrote him a message explaining why what he said had hurt me so badly. He did not apologise. Instead, he doubled down on every comment he’d made.
After that, I was beginning to realise the gravity of our sexual encounters and my lack of agency or consent. Both times, he had taken me to somewhere I couldn’t flee, in the darkness and early hours of morning, trapped in his car with no one around to hear me if I cried out. The second time, I had worn tights under my dress just in case he tried to touch me or — worse yet — have sex with me, not having faith he’d ask for consent or listen if I said no.
As all of this was hitting me, the day after our second date, I left him a crying voice message where I confided that I felt disgusting and disgusted with myself for having been made to swallow his semen. I couldn’t shake the feeling of uncleanliness, no matter how many times I brushed my teeth or rinsed my mouth. I couldn’t even look at or touch my lips without being reminded of it and feeling that rush of shame all over again.
I told him I wanted to break things off. But then I was forced, yet again, to be alone with my thoughts and to reckon with what he’d done to me. It was too painful, I couldn’t bear it. He had also manipulated me into craving his approval so badly by denying it time and time again, and I still felt that after I broke up with him.
It was as if I had put so much time and effort into something — in this case, my attempt to be perfect for him no matter what it cost me — only to then destroy it. So I sought him out and pitifully begged to get back together, once again acting as if it was all my fault for being stupid and emotional and sensitive. He let me back into his life but made it clear he was not going to date me, at least not right away. He dangled the possibility of future romantic reconciliation as some far-off prize to be won, yet another thing I’d have to work for. But I accepted it, just as I accepted all of his bullshit, feeling like it was a punishment I deserved. He had me feeling so bad about myself that I even told him ‘if I were you, I wouldn’t date me either.’
Since we were — by his choice — broken up, I went out with someone else. I had mentioned the possibility that I might sleep with this person during our call, because I wanted to lose my virginity. What I didn’t say, and didn’t even fully realise until later, was that I was also desperate to have a sexual experience that was completely consensual and on my own terms. During our call, he joked about this with me and did not act jealous or bothered by it — which made sense, as he claimed he wanted us to just be friends in the meantime. I reiterated that I wanted to get back together whenever he deemed me worthy of it, but that it was fine, I could wait, thinking I’d just have casual flings in the meantime and that would satisfy us both. I was wrong.
When he didn’t hear from me the following night, he sent me a GIF of cartoon hands miming sex. The insinuation was clear and seemingly playful. We had ended the call on good terms and I thought we were friends working toward eventual reconciliation, but able to go out with other people in the meantime. That seemed to be what he wanted and I was eager to agree with his wants. But when I wrote him the following evening, letting him know I had slept with the guy but hadn’t really enjoyed the experience due to the pain and the fact that I was still hung up on him, his rage came back.
He told me off, saying he hoped the man didn’t like me and was just using me for sex, that this man — whom he didn’t know — ‘deserved better’ than me. Once again, I was devastated. But this, I decided, would be the last time.
I told him how hurtful his comments were, then blocked him on Discord and blocked his number. Later on, I’d remember the $150 I sent him on Venmo and feel a terrible regret, as that was money I couldn’t afford to spend and I was realising now that I had given it to an abuser. I requested on Venmo that he refund me. Instead, he blocked me. I ended up having to file a claim with Venmo to get the money back. Thankfully, they sided with me and refunded it.
After that, I just wanted to move on. I started dating the guy I’d slept with and I had a consensual sexual relationship with him until I ended it over the summer. That served as a good distraction for me, keeping my mind off Oliver Graves and all he’d put me through. It took me a while to come to grips with the abuse, the coercion, the sexual assault, but I got to a point where I felt relatively at peace. I didn’t want to pursue legal action because I had no physical evidence and I realise how badly the legal system treats victims of SA, and whilst I knew he deserved to be exposed, I feared retaliation and thus decided to keep myself safe by staying quiet.
But then I found out he posted that horrible YouTube video about me, wherein he tells such vicious lies and accuses me of the cruelty that he himself committed. I was shocked and appalled. After working so hard to move on with my life and get over the hell he had put me through, he had found another way to revictimise me. It felt immensely violating and incredibly mean. He said that I ‘needed to learn’ and that what I’d done was ‘wrong,’ making himself out to be the victim rather than the racist, transphobic, misogynistic, narcissistic abuser who had sexually assaulted me.
He also confidently declared that the only reason I’d slept with that other man was to make him jealous and provoke a reaction, which was absolutely not the case and never had been. However, it does seem that he chose to publicly upload this video to get a rise out of me: he mentioned the possibility of me seeing it many times, even bringing attention to the fact that he was leaving the comments on, implying that he was eager to see how I’d respond — and how much it would hurt me.
After watching it, my head was spinning. I felt sickened. I wrote him messages begging him to delete it, but he ignored me. I posted a short comment on the video about how he’d been abusive toward me — without providing specifics — and he deleted it. (I have since reposted it.) Due to the fact that he was ignoring my emails and I wanted to convince him to delete the video from his channel, I joined his public Discord server. I made no attempts to hide my identity, joining under the username Turner. I scrolled back to try to see if he’d shared any messages about me with his Discord clique, only to find yet another example of him lying and manipulating: he was using a sock-puppet account to compliment himself, posting in the server about how much he loved his own videos and promoting his works under the guise of being his own superfan. But I knew the account, called ‘Nova’ or ‘Novaray,’ belonged to him because it was the same Discord account he’d used to speak with me. In the face of this glaring example of narcissism and dishonesty, I couldn’t resist responding to three of his self-complimentary messages with a bit of snark, saying something about how ‘of course you’d like the video.’ I was immediately banned from his server.
He still hasn’t responded to my emails, and he still hasn’t taken down the video. I know he never will, just like he refused to refund the money I sent him on Venmo, because taking it down would be some form of accountability. Narcissistic abusers will never take accountability. They will never admit to their mistakes. They will never apologise. He could do the right thing, but that would require him to be a half-decent person, and this man, I’ve realised, is truly evil.
I’m writing this because I want to reclaim the narrative. I want to take back the voice he stole from me. I want to regain some of the agency that I lost during our relationship. I want to tell the truth. I reported the video to YouTube but I doubt they’ll take action, so all I can do is put out my story and hope it warns people to stay away from this man and not to support him in any way.
But I am worried. I am scared. He knows where I live and he has an unpredictable, frightening temper. He has a small but devoted fanbase. He’s a public figure, I am not. There’s a power imbalance at play here, which is exacerbated by the age gap between us. I fear retaliation. I fear that he will try to manipulate his fans into attacking me on his behalf, much like Colleen Ballinger did to Adam McIntyre in 2020. I fear that he will dox me. I fear that he might even try to physically harm me.
I won’t be frightened into silence, though. Not again. Not after he chose to make things public with that egregiously dishonest YouTube video — a textbook example of DARVO. And to Oliver, since I know you’re reading this: if you do anything with my private, personal information — if you leak anything revealing about me, if you attempt to dox me or otherwise punish me for speaking out and sharing my truth — I want you to know that I won’t hesitate to pursue legal action. I’ve been very careful to not use your name or reveal your identity in this piece, and you’re the one who chose to make our relationship public under your ‘Oliver Graves’ persona when you uploaded that video, so I have every right to respond and tell the truth of what really happened. But you do not have the right to attack me, dox me, bully me, or do anything else to harm me. Trust me, you’ve already hurt me enough. The damage has been done. If your goal was to cause me pain, which I believe it was, then you’ve ‘won.’ But I cannot and will not let you silence me or scare me into submission. People should know who you really are and what you’re capable of. Fuck you, Oliver Graves, and fuck all your fellow abusers too.
Update 15 October 2023: The YouTube video has now been removed.

Hello!
I wish I had more resources that concisely express what I'm trying to convey because I've mainly just seen discourse about it on Twitter and I'm not always the best at expressing my more nuanced takes.
First, I want to acknowledge that after doing more research on my own, it looks like "learned helplessness" in regards to TikTok isn't specified to the actual psychological term, but just to the nature of TikTok users themselves.
I'm not actively on Twitter anymore, so while there's a few Twitter threads that discuss this, I don't know if I'll be able to find readily find them.
That said, a thread I remember seeing that discussed the nature of TikTok users and they're habit of just, I don't know, not wanting to know how to do things was in the parameters of making a pizza.
There was this user who came across a TikTok of a cooking account making a sausage pizza for dinner and comments were asking things like: "What if you don't like sausage, can I use pepperoni?" or "Do we have to include green pepper if we don't want to?"
There was another video that went viral a couple of months ago where this woman made a Bean Soup. It was a simple, straightforward recipe but all of the comments were asking, "well what if you don't like kale?" "what if you don't like chicken broth" or, the kicker, "what if you don't like beans?"
This TikTok about that, which is comedic, actually points out just how frequent this type of thing is because we're seeing it more and more.
Basically, there's this uptick of users who rob themselves of their own agency, probably without even knowing it, and then request the rest of the platform to hold their hand through everything.
I'm a little more sympathetic if they're actual children (who I really don't think should even be on the app) but, that's pretty much where my sympathy ends.
There's been some discussion around people using TikTok as a search engine as opposed to Google (a search engine that isn't without fault) and because of that, they simply don't understand how to look stuff up anymore.
They'll look something up on TikTok, or just come across a video, and then take the video at face value and assume that the information begins and ends with that specific TikTok (which is concerning because they're so much misinformation that's spreading around TikTok)
A good example was someone telling another user that "GigI Hadid's famous pasta recipe"' was just the recipe for Penne Alla Vodka, a very common, very well known Italian dish. They were then asked for a "source?" and it's like literally 1980s Italy - it's not that hard to find.
So yeah, when I see things like "Can you use Olive Oil for cooking?" and "How do we get into this music?" I'm stuck thinking people simply don't know how to do anything to help themselves, and overall, it's a tad bit concerning.
It's also why I hate the "girlsplaining" trend that's happening right now where "bimbo" influencers repackage world affairs and present in a way that's "for the girls".
Why are you asking someone who has "bimbo university" and has clearly woefully missed the point of Legally Blonde about what's going on between Israel and Palestine as opposed to just picking up a book?
TLDR: Basically, there's this uptick of users who rob themselves of their own agency, probably without even knowing it, and then request the rest of the platform to hold their hand through everything.

Apple has agreed to pay $95 million to settle a lawsuit alleging that its voice assistant Siri routinely recorded private conversations that were then sold to third parties for targeted ads.
In the proposed class-action settlement—which comes after five years of litigation—Apple admitted to no wrongdoing. Instead, the settlement refers to "unintentional" Siri activations that occurred after the "Hey, Siri" feature was introduced in 2014, where recordings were apparently prompted without users ever saying the trigger words, "Hey, Siri."
Sometimes Siri would be inadvertently activated, a whistleblower told The Guardian, when an Apple Watch was raised and speech was detected. The only clue that users seemingly had of Siri's alleged spying was eerily accurate targeted ads that appeared after they had just been talking about specific items like Air Jordans or brands like Olive Garden, Reuters noted.
It's currently unknown how many customers were affected, but if the settlement is approved, the tech giant has offered up to $20 per Siri-enabled device for any customers who made purchases between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024. That includes iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, MacBooks, HomePods, iPod touches, and Apple TVs, the settlement agreement noted. Each customer can submit claims for up to five devices.
A hearing when the settlement could be approved is currently scheduled for February 14. If the settlement is certified, Apple will send notices to all affected customers. Through the settlement, customers can not only get monetary relief but also ensure that their private phone calls are permanently deleted.
While the settlement appears to be a victory for Apple users after months of mediation, it potentially lets Apple off the hook pretty cheaply. If the court had certified the class action and Apple users had won, Apple could've been fined more than $1.5 billion under the Wiretap Act alone, court filings showed.
But lawyers representing Apple users decided to settle, partly because data privacy law is still a "developing area of law imposing inherent risks that a new decision could shift the legal landscape as to the certifiability of a class, liability, and damages," the motion to approve the settlement agreement said. It was also possible that the class size could be significantly narrowed through ongoing litigation, if the court determined that Apple users had to prove their calls had been recorded through an incidental Siri activation—potentially reducing recoverable damages for everyone.
"The percentage of those who experienced an unintended Siri activation is not known," the motion said. "Although it is difficult to estimate what a jury would award, and what claims or class(es) would proceed to trial, the Settlement reflects approximately 10–15 percent of Plaintiffs expected recoverable damages."
Siri's unintentional recordings were initially exposed by The Guardian in 2019, plaintiffs' complaint said. That's when a whistleblower alleged that "there have been countless instances of recordings featuring private discussions between doctors and patients, business deals, seemingly criminal dealings, sexual encounters and so on. These recordings are accompanied by user data showing location, contact details, and app data."
Horrified Apple users sued, considering each recording "an egregious breach of social norms" that seemed to violate state and federal laws. They alleged that Apple's conduct was deliberate, arguing Apple commercially benefited from the secret recordings.
Apple repeatedly moved to dismiss the suit, arguing that "there are no facts, much less plausible facts, that tie Plaintiffs’ receipt of targeted ads to their speculation that Siri must have been listening to their conversations, and Apple must have used Siri to facilitate targeted ads by third parties."
Through the settlement agreement, Apple ultimately agreed that Siri unintentionally recorded private conversations and is likely hoping the settlement will finally end the controversy for good.
Meanwhile, Google faces a similar lawsuit in the same district from plaintiffs represented by the same firms over its voice assistant, Reuters noted. A win in that suit could affect anyone who purchased "Google’s own smart home speakers, Google Home, Home Mini, and Home Max; smart displays, Google Nest Hub, and Nest Hub Max; and its Pixel smartphones" from approximately May 18, 2016 to today, a December court filing noted. That litigation likely won't be settled until this fall.
Apple did not immediately respond to Ars' request to comment.

In consideration of abolishing consideration.
The common law recognizes two ingredients essential to an enforceable contract: a "meeting of the minds"¹ and consideration. Estoppel, not the existence of consideration, should be the primary basis for upholding obligations by oral or written agreement at common law.
I. Failure of consideration invalidates an otherwise valid contract.
Consideration was formalized at English common law in Currie v. Misa, (1875) LR 10 Ex 153; (1875–76) LR 1 App Cas 554, where Judge Lush explained, "A valuable consideration, in the sense of the law, may consist either in some right, interest, profit, or benefit accruing to the one party, or some forbearance, detriment, loss, or responsibility, given, suffered, or undertaken by the other." Consideration thus reinforces the doctrine of mutuality of obligation, whereby both parties must be bound to perform their obligations, or the court will treat the contract as if neither party is bound.
Courts use two primary theories to evaluate whether a contract is supported by consideration:
The Bargained-for Exchange Theory: This theory holds that adequate consideration exists when a promisor makes a promise in return for something from the promisee. In essence, there must be a quid pro quo.
The Benefit-Detriment Theory: According to this theory, consideration is sufficient when a promise results in a benefit to the promisor or a detriment to the promisee. Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr., articulated the essence of this theory: "The promise must induce the detriment and the detriment must induce the promise."²
An enduring example in legal education is Williston's "tramp" hypothetical. Suppose a benevolent man tells a tramp, "If you walk to the store, you may buy an overcoat on my credit." Here, the tramp's short walk is neither a bargained-for exchange nor a legal detriment because it carries no meaningful value. As such, this would typically be classified as a gift rather than a contract.
However, this distinction ignores the economics of opportunity cost. The tramp indeed sacrifices time and effort, which may carry significant subjective value. If the distance to the shop increases, or if the tramp incurs monetary expense (e.g., a bus fare), the argument becomes stronger that the tramp has suffered a detriment in reliance on the promise. In such cases, promissory estoppel provides a remedy, allowing recovery when a promise, reasonably relied upon, causes detriment.
But why should reliance on promissory estoppel be necessary? The distinction between a gift and a binding contract is often arbitrary and unfair, especially in jurisdictions where plaintiffs are barred from pleading both breach of contract and promissory estoppel.³
Legal scholars have noted the nebulous line separating bargains from gifts. Comment “c” to section 71 of the Restatement (Second) of Contracts concedes: “The distinction between bargain and gift may be a fine one, depending on the motives manifested by the parties.”
II. Consideration is a meaningless formality.
The requirement of consideration often reduces contractual disputes to meaningless formalities. Historically, courts have even upheld "nominal" consideration—an exchange of insignificant value such as a peppercorn—as sufficient to validate a contract.⁴ If such nominal exchanges are valid, it raises the question of whether the doctrine serves any substantive purpose.
Consider the case of Kirksey v. Kirksey, 8 Ala. 131 (1845), where a widow was invited by her brother-in-law to live on his land, only to be later ejected. The court ruled that his promise was a mere gratuity and lacked consideration. This outcome, grounded in formalism, ignored the practical reliance and detriment incurred by the widow.
Modern courts have softened their stance, introducing doctrines like reliance and promissory estoppel to bridge the gap. Yet these doctrines are necessary precisely because the requirement of consideration produces inequitable results.
In contrast, civil law systems have dispensed with the need for consideration altogether. Agreements are enforceable if the parties exhibit mutual consent, reflecting a more straightforward commitment to upholding obligations. Roman law, for instance, required only three elements: a valuable thing (res), a price (pretium), and mutual consent (consensus).⁵
III.  Consideration has already been abrogated in commercial transactions.
In commercial contexts, the requirement of consideration has been largely supplanted by statutory frameworks. The Uniform Commercial Code, adopted in almost every U.S. jurisdiction, significantly relaxes the requirement of consideration for the sale of goods. Under section 2-209 of the Code, modifications to contracts do not require new consideration, provided they are made in good faith.⁶
Similarly, international commercial law, such as the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, does not require consideration for the formation or modification of contracts. These frameworks prioritize efficiency and predictability in commerce, acknowledging that rigid adherence to consideration would impede the fluidity of business transactions.
Given these modern developments, the continued reliance on consideration in other areas of contract law appears anachronistic. If commercial entities can operate without it, why not individuals in their private dealings?

App - Adhara
OOC
Olá, galera! Sou a Adhara, +18.

Supervisors Deadlock on Proposal to Take Aim at Social Media Platforms
The San Diego County Board of Supervisors Tuesday deadlocked on advancing a proposal aimed at protecting young people from being victims of the “addictive algorithms” of social media, with the board voting 2-2.
On July 8, Vice Chair Terra Lawson-Remer announced the proposal, directing the county’s legal team to explore filing and/or joining litigation against social media platforms for “their failure to protect youth mental health,” Lawson-Remer said in a statement at the time.
In addition, the proposal called for a resolution to support the U.S. surgeon general’s effort to put warning labels on social media platforms.
On Tuesday, Lawson-Remer and colleague Monica Montgomery Steppe voted in favor, while their colleagues Joel Anderson and Jim Desmond were opposed.
Chairwoman Nora Vargas was absent from the meeting due to personal reasons, according to her office.
Last week, Lawson-Remer said children “are being harmed by social media. It is affecting their mental and emotional well-being.”
“These platforms have knowingly developed addictive algorithms akin to the opioids manufactured by pharmaceutical companies. I want our county to legally intervene and throw our support behind the U.S. surgeon general’s recommendations,” she added.
Last year, Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy warned that social media are “contributing to our nation’s youth mental health crisis.”
The American Psychological Association followed suit, linking social media use to reduced well-being and mood disorders — chiefly depression and anxiety — among people between the ages of 10 and 25.
The APA reported that U.S. teens spend an average of five hours every day using the seven most popular social media apps, with Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accounting for 87% of their social media time.
According to Lawson-Remer’s office, “Youth are now exposed daily to strategically designed social media algorithms and features that capitalize on their vulnerabilities to drive engagement.”
In a statement after the Tuesday vote, Lawson-Remer said she would bring back the proposal for a board vote in August.
She added that seeking out legal options would allow the county “to hold opportunistic social media companies accountable and push them to change the way they do business.”
During the Tuesday meeting, Lawson-Remer said social media is a tool for sharing information and entertainment, but can be harmful without guardrails.
Citing different studies, Anderson wanted Lawson-Remer’s proposal to include a report on how marijuana use affects young people’s mental health.
Anderson said that, in his district, more young people are impacted by marijuana use than by social media.
He added that, according to the state Department of Health, there were almost 65,000 cannabis-related emergency visits from those aged 15 to 30 in 2022.
Lawson-Remer said that while she appreciated the spirit of Anderson’s request, the core of her proposal involved possible legal options against social media companies. She also told Anderson that his proposal could be discussed at a future meeting.
Desmond said while he understood why Lawson-Remer introduced the proposal, he wasn’t sure a lawsuit was the best way to deal with how social media affects young people.
Instead of more regulation, Desmond proposed an educational program for children and their parents.
“Where does government end and parenting start?” Desmond asked, suggesting that parents can be given tools, such as blocking certain sites on phones or being alerted to a child’s use.
During a public comment period, supervisors heard from two young people and an LGBTQ activist in support of Lawson-Remer’s proposal.
A high school student said that, at first, social media allowed him to stay in touch with his family, but it kept him “disconnected as ever” and capitalized on vulnerabilities.
A woman calling herself “Oliver Twist” said she opposed any social media policy, as government should be limited.
While social media are a problem, she noted that a Metropolitan Transit System poster encouraged youth ridership by asking young people to post pictures on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. *Reposte3d article from The Times of SD by Elizabeth Ireland on July 16, 2024

Then, this heard by Uncle DD coz we are all in the kitchen. I asked Uncle DD if they have extra egg if I can have one? He said they don't have egg but he will give me coins to buy egg... He gave me just 16 pesoses that the egg is 10 pesoses each... But this Uncle DD will or can't help me on bigger loans that I got even the 4k loan that I have on Ely... Uncle DD only can share eggs and stuff like for kids or for cheap kids...
It is hard to trust on the behaviour of my 2 Uncle's even this Uncle Jun is weird...

Well, these are my loan,my shallow happiness aside from my retinols...
Moca2x called me awhile ago, I'm busy cleaning the refrigerator and still finishing it... They told me to pay my loan today for 400 coz I was late yesterday...
Uncle DD told me that Moca2x called him about my loan and I was shocked coz I didn't put his name but I put Oliver,Dina and Apple ( my childhood bestfriend ). Yhel told me that I need to pay it today coz I was already due yesterday and it has an interest already. Yhel told me if your friends can shoulder it, is it ohkay? I said why not but I know apology it is my negligence. I overlooked the details and my money is not yet coming and this island Philippines is removing me on the "work-force".
The thing is the day that Teleperformance Molino hired me,it was already the start of payment. That supposed to be started last Friday but they moved it...Still,waiting for the start day....
I told Yhel if ever she can put this case on a higher department meaning a lawyer thingy but if they will put me in prison, I don't think so that will happen coz of 1000 pesoses... I guess I still need to take 99,000 pesoses for me to be in prison or to be in a legal court.

12:50 noon
I guess Yhel is calling the call center of Moca2x,.I will just let them be... Later will check the app...
I still want retinols and some vanity in life...I also wanna travel and have my own thing...
1:24 pm
Still,have windblow...
I wanna do general cleaning but I'm lacking of cleaning materials and I need efan and a steamer supposed to be...
I'm out of budget on my loan..
1:46 pm
Still,have windblow...
I just don't like Uncle Jun coz all he can assist are just food and I don't like his view that I should stop execrsing and not beautifying myself anymore.
I still wanna get someone that is handsome and still fixing himself and cute like my cousin-white or Pilot Garret and Pilot Pete and most specially Garret!!! Gets angels??? How can those men will have an eye for me if I neglect my beauty.
I still want vanity and travel and get some personal progress... I feel bitterish supposed to be I can go to gym, my supposed to be plan on my aging days if I was able to get success in any work field.
I still need to go back to my dentist. I really wanna leave Cavite... All my future are gone... Supposed to be I have even 1 child and in a way I'm working either on TV or to be something in any field like the call center and owning a "Pet Store"....Supposed to be getting a nose perfection!
I wanted my cousin white aside from he is really cute they are still in middle-class that we used to be that way here... I know they are really uppish middle-class...
I don't know if I can still see Willa in my Biology classmate here in De La Salle with Mr Torres our Biology professor and Joyce my schoolmate during high school and college, my biology mates. I don't know if I can still have my party with some oldish good friends and some new friends.... I don't know if we can still see each other and go back to the road that we are supposed to drive on....???
I'm longing to see some of my oldish good friends and longing to have friends as well....
I still wanna see Mitch, I just wanna know something.. Did she give me these and those "simple battery"???
I have so many frustrations like to be skinny and to wear a swimsuit on a beach and be uppish, my personality is twisting these days coz I want a cute and handsome bf. For example Garret has a gf on his youtube and as you can see she is perfect head to foot and wearing swimsuit... Stuff like that, how can I get that kind of bf... Well, my cousin white is just really cute and I don't know his type... As we all see, he got a skinny, tall white woman... In a way I don't like her but she got my cousin white... I will feel ugly with her... Probably, there will be no family reunion anymore on Treyes... If there is,what's the point of seeing them....I lost my crown in the family. GETS ANGELS???
If I'm wealthy or an actress or able to be a Queenish of someone has a money then probably I can still join the family reunion on Treyes and its ohkay to see my cousin white be with that skinny, whitish girl. I just enjoy being with beautiful people. Probably, hating her the one got by my cousin white coz I'm no longer spoiled and I have nothing these days...
For now, hating my cousin white for being married and now I'm self-pitying here...
6:12 pm
Moca2x called me angels and Yhel said it is her task and I said I don't have available cash for now... I said let's just see if the terms of payment is done then I can't give anything to pay it... Then, let's wait for the step of the company lawyer. There is a God Bless in the last words of Yhel... Hmmm... Born Again?? Or INC hiding as Born Again???
6:48 pm
My 2 Uncle's are in Tandem outside the house...Hmm....
8:46 pm
Still,have windblow...
I want to go live later,I don't know if my sounds or voice can sync in...
I'm not happy being flatten this way angels... Something is wrong in my life and in this house but I do have etiquette and I don't have money as of now... But this is wrong angels...
Plus, the character of Aunt Teresa is weird... They don't want to be fetched from the past years whenever she or they go home here...They don't know how to be a parents, the love for me is not matured or not solid... They probably made or planned a movement on something but I'm out of place here in my biological mother's side.
The negative of Aunt Teresa is not matured enough, she is easily persuade by some other people's view or suggestion about me and about other things...
I remember that Alex Capati Cantimbuhan his mother is married to a foreigner, his step father and has a sister named Shiela Capati Cantimbuhan. They told me way back I just suddenly remember that he told me that their parent's whenever they plan to visit here from USA or Europe I forgot the exact foreign land. They told me that their mother didn't want to be fetched that I remember I told to my Aunt Teresa this behaviour and I guess she copy it...
There are things that are applicable on a particular family that on other people's family will not be applicable... That is maturity!
I just feel strange about that and I feel a bit offended that why Aunt Teresa suddenly doesn't want to be fetched even me here or on us here, the original people here or some left-over people here, which is a funny description.
I wasn't a perfect person nor daughter nor a friend but I'm always transparent but with etiquette...

I'm sure that someone else has talked about this, but I just went out to lunch with my aunt who is a long-time special ed teacher and I was complaining about some of the crazy parents that I had to deal with in my clinical placements and I showed her this super long email I sent to one of the moms where I clearly explained to her exactly why I was doing what I was doing and she didn't listen to a single thing I was saying. My aunt looked at it with knowing eyes and said "You can't fight crazy with logic." I laughed but it's been a few days now and I can't stop thinking about how relevant that is, not just in my life, but in politics rn too.
You can't fight crazy with logic.
My dad is a smart man, but he grew up poor and white and worked his way through college so he very much has eaten the lies that the US has fed to him about social mobility. He believes that if he can do it anyone can do it, and he did do it, so it is difficult for him to understand why other people can't do the same. But he's a smart man, and his beliefs are evidence-based (his evidence in this case being himself) so the best way to combat his logical beliefs are with logic. He didn't understand why immigrants didn't just come in to the country legally, which is not a completely illogical thought. Due to many factors (he's white, he's not a reader, he's not super politically engaged, he's nice but not prone to giving people the benefit of the doubt) his mind does not go to looking for the barriers that would prevent people from applying legally. However, the fact that he doesn't look for these barriers isn't him not believing that these barriers exist, and as I said he's a logical man. I showed him the John Oliver video about how difficult it is for asylum seekers to even try to apply for asylum to the US, the way that they have to download apps and the apps don't work, and the way that the system is broken from the start. He saw the evidence-- people weren't applying legally because they couldn't apply legally. And so he changed his mind. He didn't like transgender athletes competing because he thought it was unfair. He thought he knew the evidence (boys are taller than girls, I guess was his evidence) and made his determination. I showed him the interviews of cis female athletes with high testosterone that were barred from running track events and the debunking of that one girl who claimed to be the fastest girl in Connecticut or what the fuck ever and he changed his mind.
You can't fight crazy with logic.
Some beliefs, however, are not based in logic. There's no logic to the q-annoners who think that JFK faked his death or that Trump is sending them mysterious messages to decode through his tweets (or whatever they call his not-twitter bigot platform messages). There is no number of interviews and well-researched articles I can show them that can make them change their mind. Their beliefs are rooted in this fear that they're losing the protection that their whiteness grants them, fear that progress is already happening and leaving them behind. Their fear is not valid but it is a real emotion.
Anyway, I hate when American leftists automatically write conservatives off as stupid or act like ignorance is a permanent state of being. Not only is it arrogant to think that leftists are the only people who are able to think critically about things, but it also isn't true and it's completely discounting the thought processes of approximately half the country (not even considering the thoughts of conservatives all over the world). There are a lot of people out there whose conservative beliefs stem from logic, and the best way to begin change is to fight their logic with more logic. Is showing my dad a video about how fucked up the asylum process is in the US going to make him share my beliefs about the fact that no human is illegal (especially on stolen land)? Maybe not, but it is the first step for sure. Not doing this first step because you believe that all conservatives are irredeemably stupid is not helping anyone or any cause.
I'm not saying that this will work with the q-annoners because you can't fight crazy with logic. They need something else, whether that's community or deprogramming, I'm genuinely not sure. But I think that thinking all people that don't share your viewpoints are automatically illogical isn't helping anything at all
