DRAMA REVIEW | Perfect Marriage Revenge (2023)
There’s an argument to be made about how Perfect Marriage Revenge had a perfect execution because it was a 12 episodes long drama and didn’t waste time for unnecessary conflicts. Everything took its right time and was resolved in a cohesive way with the characters development.
Both leads were compelling and had amazing chemistry, but the secondary characters were equally interesting to watch. All the performances outstanding and you can tell the actors are enjoying themselves in their respective roles.
On a story about a woman looking for revenge against her own family, this kdrama had a perfect balance between makjang and romcom. Making it an easy and fun watch. I highly recommend it!

Bargain
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2024
Bargain (2022, South Korea)
Director: Jeon Woo Sung
Writers: Jeon Woo Sung, Choi Byeong Yun & Kwak Jae Min (based on the short film by Lee Chung Hyun)
Mini-review:
I have to say I loved how batshit crazy and unhinged this drama is. You can never really know what it's going to throw at you next, and I feel like that's very hard to achieve these days. Beyond that, the drama makes brilliant use of its long single-take, real-time scenes, which make you feel like you're right there with the characters. The sets are also incredible, and they make the whole thing feel so claustrophobic (in a good way, I guess). On top of that, Jeon Jong Seo, Jin Seok Kyu and Chang Ryul give three show-stopping performances that certainly rank among the very best of their careers. Tbh, I can understand why many people disliked it (the characters tend to ramble, the epilogue feels very unnecesary and sometimes it gets a bit too crazy), but I personally enjoyed every second of Bargain.

hate pt 1
❥ pairing: nonidol!jake x fem!reader
❥ genre: angst, fluff?, highschoolau!
❥ summary: y/n is the quiet type; however, she cannot stand bullying. Is it because she been involved with something similar or not?? jake, her next-door neighbor and childhood friend (not really), is dating the girl who is making y/n's school life exhausting. she can't catch a break between being at school and home. But she also can't express her feelings...
❥ warnings: crying, grammar mistakes, not proofread, bullying, let me know if I forgot something
---------------------------
WC: 2.8k
A/N: It's been a while since I last posted. this is going to be 2 parts just cause wanted to post something by today but wouldn't have been able to finish it so here you are. the second part should be posted sometime next week! please be patient with me :3
school. not exactly your favorite place, you don’t get the best grades or have to many friends. There is too much bullying at your school, an unexceptionable amount. Your school like isn’t a normal public school, it’s more like an all “rich kids” school, not quite private either though. The only kids who get picked on are the scholars which is completely stupid because they are probably smarter than half the non-scholar kids there.
you, on the other hand, are not a scholar which is only beneficial because you do get a good education (even if you suck at it) and you don’t get picked on too much. Your parents are quite wealthy. your father owning a tech company and you mother working for a fashion company. Your parents obviously want you to go to college, graduate and find some amazing career, but that’s not going to happen so quick. You fortunately don’t have the pressure of being an heiress for your dad’s company due to your older brother already being next in line.
Compared to you brother, you are more troublesome and carefree. Him being a workaholic and definitely more mature. Of course, you get compared to him. but while he’s finishing up his years in college you're finishing up yours in high school. oh, can’t you wait to graduate from school, especially this school. You don’t exactly like cause trouble, it just happens a lot, which brings us here.
you rolled your eyes at the scene that was happening in front of the class. You just wanted to rest your eyes a bit more before the bell rung but you clearly got disrupted. Cha Soo-Yun, the most annoying girl you’ve met, she’s always the one to pick on the scholars which annoys the hell out of you. She was currently picking on a transfer student who got the scholarship and gladly switched schools, she’s a junior and her name is Soon Yunji. “Haha, look at all this garbage” Soo-Yun said laughing with her one friend after dumping Yunji’s belongings from her backpack on the ground. the poor girl looks traumatized, who wouldn’t I mean Soo-Yun looks like a clown with the amount of makeup she wears to school. You couldn’t stand seeing Yunji look so pale from being embarrassed so you stood up and gladly walked in front of the girl’s desk. Soo-Yun just scoffed “ruining the fun again i see.” she crossed her arms. “it’s kind of pathetic that the first 20 minutes after you arrived, you're already picking on someone.” you must look tired but also annoyed because that’s exactly how you feel.
“Why do you always get in my way?” Soo-Yun complains. You cough, aiming it towards her, she scoffs and backs up in disgust. “Sorry, I’m getting over a cold, wouldn’t want to catch it princess, would you?” you smile to her in an annoying way, which just pisses her off even more. “euk, I can’t believe someone like you goes to this school” she states, still looking at you with disgust. you sigh, shoulders dropping “and I can’t believe you looked in the mirror this morning and thought your makeup looked good.” you give her a slight smirk. she fumes as some of the other kids in the classroom whisper after your comeback. she sprints over to you with an arm raised, she goes in for a slap, but you successfully dodge the hit. “Ah, you missed.” you say, eyebrow furrowed. You sigh after lifting your chin a bit more “it’s okay, hit me. I can take it. plus, I probably deserve it…right?” you say, stretching a bit, read for a hit. she scoffs once again as she glares into your cold gaze. “Unless you're scared.” you cock your head to the side which an eyebrow raised. Soo-Yun breathes a frustrated sigh. “a few minutes ago, you didn’t seem so scared to- “you state before feeling a stinging pain on your left cheek.
she did it. she fell for it. you hear a few gasps leave other classmates' mouths after the girl slapped you. you chuckle to her. Soo-Yun frowns “why are you laughing” she practically growls. “I need you to realize that I didn’t start this fight, okay?” you say, she furrows her eyebrows “what? -" she begins but before she finishes you kick her at the waist, causing her to fall to the ground. “Oh, I’m sorry, did that hurt” you crouch down and give her a mocking look.
Just as you stand up from crouching a familiar scent comes quickly, Sim Jake. Helping Soo-Yun up, he glares at you, and you shrug, “you need to control your girlfriend Jaeyun.” you say before quickly turning around and help Yunji pick up her things from the ground. “You good?” you ask, she just nods “yeah, and thanks.” she smiles you nod, “no problem.” you respond before standing up and heading back to your desk. You lay you head on your desk once more, trying to find enough peace to rest a tiny bit more but all you hear is Soo-Yuns' whiny voice complaining to Jake about you.
You weren’t worried about possibly getting in trouble at school, you were mostly worried if your parents would find out, which of course they did. “Why did you attack Cha Soo-Yun at school today.” Your father spews his anger out quite quickly once you get home. “Who told?” you said which no expression on your face. “That doesn’t matter right now y/n! I’m asking you a question.” his jaw clenches, you sigh “was it jake?” you ask. he lets out a deep, frustrated sigh. “Unfortunately, we had to hear the news from his parents, do you know how embarrassing that is?” he rests his hand on his forehead in embarrassment. “that’s why tonight i made plans to have dinner with Jaeyun and his parents, you're not only going to apologize to jake but also to Soo-Yun tomorrow in school.” he points his finger at you. you nod, acknowledging that you're listening to him. “Okay now head you your room, I’m tired of you.” he says with annoyance in his tone.
"Tired of me, oh please." you say as you lay your head down on your pillow after falling onto you bed. once again jake’s being an asshole. you look over to your window only to see Jake walking around his room like he’s looking for something. you stand up and walk over to the window, he also sees you, giving you and annoying smirk only for you to reply by harshly closing your blinds.
The time came, when Jake and his parents were invited over that day. You work a baby pink sweater with a knee-high white skirt. "You look good, Hun" your mother complimented. you slightly smiled to acknowledge that you heard her. "Is everything fine at school?" She worriedly asked you. "everything's fine mom, Soo-Yun is just problematic and jake's not much better." you said with a frustrated tone. "Plus, dad just clearly likes jake more than me so..." you slightly rolled your eyes at the thought, you mom sighed in return. "You know your father-" She began but got cut off by the sound of the front door opening and familiar voices be heard.
you and jakes' families have been close for as long as you can remember. Part of that being because both dads grew up together another part being because you are neighbors. Although, you and Jake started disagreeing a lot more once you both hit puberty. You both were never very close but close enough. Well, until high school.
"y/n!" a sweet voice calls out to you as you walk towards the door. You give a soft smile to the beautiful lady. Jakes mom, she was so sweet, she was like another mom to you. You loved her. You opened your arms and gave her a tight hug. "How are you, my love?" She pets your head with a gentle touch. You nodded to her with a genuine smile, still in her arms "good, I've been good." She soon let you go, to which you walk over to Mr. Sim, Jakes dad. You look up to him, awkwardly. "Ah, come here" the man says, pulling you into his side, with a hug. You smile, once again.
You were quite close with both of Jakes parents, they were like a second pair of parents to you. You loved them dearly. "Hey kiddo" Mr. Sim says. "hey" you laugh in return. You both let go, only to walk back over to you mom but turn to look at Jake and slightly bow your head a little just to show a bit of respect, to which he gives nothing in return.
You all head over to the dinner table and get settled to start eating. A few conversations start but you just listen quietly. A bit longer into dinner, you get asked something. "So how has school been y/n?" Mr. Sim asks, genuinely curious. You look up from your plate, "It's been okay." You pick at your food while answering. Jake gives a quiet scoff which only leads you to sigh. "Speaking of which, I believe there's something you would like to say to Jake, isn't there y/n." Your dad says while giving you a glare. He motions you to stand up. You assumed you would be able to apologize to Jake privately, but no, Hes making you do it in front of everyone. Everyone else looked a bit confused, besides Jake of course.
You gulped and stood up from your chair. You hesitated for a bit, "I'm sorry..." You said but soon continued after you dad gave you a look suggesting that you continued. "I'm sorry for how I treated Soo-Yun today. I will be apologizing to her separately as well, but because she's someone you care about, I'm apologizing to you too." You said, keeping you head down, biting the inside of your cheek in embarrassment. Jake just nods his head but then continues to eat. you sigh. Meanwhile, everyone else felt the awkward tension. "Good enough." your father says, which absolutely outrages you. You sit down as your lip quivers. You dad basically showed everyone how much control he had over you, and you hated it.
You held back your tears and continued to eat while putting on a smile to not show how upset you felt. After a little bit, when the tension cooled off you spoke up, "Excuse me, I'm going to use the bathroom" You gave a soft, yet fake smile.
Instead of going to the bathroom you went to your backyard patio and sat on the little bench swing. You felt even more frustrated and upset than you did earlier. You dad was nothing like jakes, and of course you didn't want to compare them, but your always jealous of how jake gets treated by his dad compared to you with yours. You sat there with a frown, picking your nails but soon hear heavy footsteps getting closer, Jake. "That was tense" he says, sitting next to you. "You enjoyed it, huh?" you said, still not looking his way. "Not as much as I will tomorrow when you say it to her." He says which makes you finally look at him. how did he know you were going to apologize to her tomorrow, your dad only told you to a few hours ago. "What if I don't do it tomorrow, huh?" you raise your eyebrows at him. "I would, because I can easily tell your father." he chuckles. You clench your teeth. "What, are you mad I know your weakness?" he says. "Weakness?" you question. "Your dad." he says. you squint. was he right? was your dad your weakness? "You don't know anything about me Sim Jake." Your lip twitches. "we'll see about that" he says, you stand up and walk away.
When you return to the others, you speak out, "I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling very well. I'm going to have to say goodbye now so I can lay down." You explain and say your goodbye before heading up to your room. Once you close your door, you feel an overwhelming sense of sadness and panic. Your dad is your weakness and that hurts your heart so much realizing it now. You dad wasn't always like this, he was kind, loving and fun up until you hit middle school. you don't know what happened, but it was like once your older brother left, he was terrible.
You walked over to your window and opened the closed blinds, sliding the window open to get a bit fresh air due to feeling suffocated. You didn't want to cry, but you couldn't help it. What's happening to you.
You eventually head over to your bed and fall asleep with shiny streaks on your face from the tears.
I hate you sim jaehyun.
The next day at school was nothing you ever imagined. It felt like all those k-dramas you watched where you were walking towards your classroom and everyone around you was whispering while you walk past. You felt confused. When you walked into the classroom, all eyes were on you which gave you chills. You scan the room only to see Soo-Yun crying in her seat, arm wrapped in a bandage. You sigh as Jake glares at you.
“Park y/n!” you turn to the crying girl. “Do you see what you caused?” she stood up and stomped your way. you eyed the ground annoyingly. “Ah, about that, I apologize for how I acted yesterday. It was wrong of me to kick you” you looked at her, apologizing. Jake kept a close eye on you while his girlfriend let out a snotty comment. “You realize that you're the bad guy now, right?” she chuckled, you turned to her. “That doesn’t matter to me. Just be happy I apologized.” you glared at her for a moment before turning away and heading to you seat. “Hah, only cause your daddy told you to.” she scoffed, you turned around in shock by her words. “What?” you said with furrowed eyebrows. You tightly closed you fist at her words, how did she know anything about that? you looked at Jake, he just looks back with no expression at all.
you looked around to see everyone looking at you like you just committed a sin, what the hell is going on. You ran out of the classroom, only to bump into someone on your way out, “sorry.” you mumbled not paying any attention to who they were, and you heart was racing, it felt like you were going to throw up, why though?
“Can you pick me up?” you called you brother with a shaky voice. He said he’d be there soon, so you just had to wait.
Did Jake tell? What was going on. Why were you so affected by your dad getting brought up? You brought you hand to your chest and rubbed it to get your heartbeat to slow a bit. “y/n” someone called for you. you turned to the familiar voice with anger and hurt in your eyes and a quivering lip. “What?” you practically yelled. Jake walked closer, only for you to back up. “Did you get what you wanted?” you said, holding you tears back. Jake really hurt you this time. “What?” he asked. Just then, a car pulls up. You brother rolls down the window and greets jake. “Go.” you say to you brother after getting in. He’s confused, but still listens.
You sit across your older brother in his apartment. He gave you a juice box which you were currently drinking. “So, what happened?” he asks, putting his elbows on the counter in the kitchen. “Nothing much, I just felt like skipping today. And please don’t tell dad!” you practically begged him. “Is he still giving you a hard time?” he asks. you were always comfortable telling you brother things, but this was different. It was your dad, and he was very close with your dad. “Ah, no..” you lied “he’s just been busy lately.” you say, reassuring you brother with a fake smile. “Hm, okay” he pets your head.
“But what was Jake doing outside with you?” he questions. “Not sure, but I don’t care. he’s an asshole,” you frown more when thinking back. “What?” he asked. “Him and his girlfriend are both assholes.” you share, still feeling mad. “I hate him.” you start tearing up. “Huh? what’s up?” he walks over to you. you start crying harder. “he’s so stupid.” you say. Your brother pats you back. “What do I do?” you question into your brother's chest. “I’ll make some ramen.” your brother says, you sniffle and nod.

Grandmas Know Best
Pairing: Hwang Hyunjin X reader Summary: In which two Grandmas this, I just let their grandchildren up on a blind date. Surprisingly, it works out perfectly.
The quaint cafe was buzzing with conversation as people passed throughout the morning, two elderly women sat sipping their tea contently as they spoke fondly of their favorite people.
“My Hyune is so dramatic, always finding a way to make the smallest thing into a huge story.”
“My Mira has such a way with animals it's so mesmerizing, I’ve never seen someone so connected with nature.”
The women passed stories together, they did this every week, on Sunday at noon. They’d meet at this exact cafe and talk about life, almost always leading the conversation back to what their grandchildren had done that week.
“Hyune is so focused on work, he needs to find a girl and settle down,” Mi-Sun commented as she stirred a bit of cinnamon into her tea.
“When was the last time he mentioned a girl?” Soo-Yun wondered, she hadn’t seen the young boy since he was in diapers.
“Before he debuted with his group around 2017.”
“My Mira, hasn’t really been into dating for a while either. Claims her animals need her more than any man could.”
And with that the two women plotted, scheming the perfect way to get their precious grandchildren to get away from work. After all who could say no to their sweet faces.
“Yah! Seriously?!?” She groaned as she watched the intern struggle to feed their recently saved fox. She had actually been the one to bring him in, he was found with broken legs and some spinal damage from being hit by a car. He wouldn't be able to be sent back out into the wild sadly, so she built the best enclosure she could to ensure the last bit of his life would be happy.
She directed the trainee in what to do, trying to get her to do it right, but the trainee was too worried about the fox suddenly deciding she was a snack instead.
“Ya know what, go organize the barn or something.” She dismissed, annoyed by the intern.
She made her way to the fox who yipped happily upon realizing who it was, “Hey little one, are you ready to start eating regularly again?” she smiled warmly at the fox who nuzzled into her leg the best he could. The medicine they had put him on to help with the pain a bit sadly didn’t react well with a foxes regular diet, leading him to have a liquid diet for a few days. She could tell he was ready for the good stuff again.
She started giving him bits of food at a time, when her phone vibrated. She always kept it on vibrate to not spook any of the animals.
“Hello?” She asked, answering through her ear piece so no sudden movements made the eating fox get defensive.
“My Mira! How’re you my dear?” Her grandmother greeted over the phone, her brittle voice sounding a bit sleepy as it was coming up on her nap time.
“I’m well, can I ask why you called? You never call while I’m at the sanctuary.” she wondered, eliciting a hum from the elder woman.
“Oh I was wondering if you’d be interested in a date with my friend's grandson?” She blurted, never being the one to beat around the bush, she was less than amused with the suggestion.
“What?”
“Oh you know Mi-Sun, her grandson is your age and we were talking at lunch today and we talked about how compatible you two are, and we think both of you could definitely benefit from a relaxing lunch together.” Her grandmother rambled a bit, continuing on about how they had both been overworking themselves and how they’ve been talking it over for almost a month before mentioning it. she sighed, she loved her grandmother, and she knew that she just wanted the best for her.
“I really don’t think a blind date is in my comfort zone.”
“Just try! Just this once, please?”
“I’m sorry what?” Hyunjin blurted in the middle of the practice room as he was on the phone with his grandmother, who had been rambling on about her latest scheme to get him away from the agency for some relaxation.
His members looked confused as they watched him tensely pace and run a hand through his hair.
“Oh honey, don’t worry. It’s not a complete stranger, you met when you were younger and she doesn’t even know who stray kids are so it's not like she’s an obsessed fan.” His grandmother reasoned but Hyunjin was having none of it.
“I don’t know this woman, grandma, why would I want to go on a date with someone I’ve met as a child and don’t even remember.”
“I can tell you right now, this woman? She’s something special, trust me. It’ll definitely be worth your time.”
“I don’t have time for this.”
“That’s a lie, you have a week break after each song gets completed, so after you finish filming for your song, we’ll set you up with a place and time.”
He mentally cursed himself for telling the elder his schedule.
Neither parties involved were excited for a date with someone they didn’t know, they simply wanted to enjoy their time with their separate passions alone. Neither feeling the need for romance at the time, but the desire to finally have someone else was tempting, both would love someone to go home to every day.
Maybe it could be the perfect match.
She nervously sat in the seat at the small table in the cafe that was seemingly more quiet than what her grandmother had told her it may be. She flipped her phone a few times in her hand waiting for the clerk to bring out her hot chocolate with cinnamon.
Hyunjin was walking into the cafe, nerves bursting out of him, though he didn’t exactly want the date. It was still a date. He scanned the area looking for anyone as nervous as him, landing on a woman who was awkwardly flipping her phone as she rested her head on the palm of her hand that was propped up. He honestly wouldn’t have noticed her anxiety if he didn’t see her legs tapping rapidly.
Surely this couldn’t be her, he had thought as he took in her beauty, she had fair skin, practically flawless aside from a scar running over her plump lower lip. Her hair fell to her waist but was braided intricately to stay out of her face. Just a few strands loose around her face to frame it, her cheek bones were very prominent; he wondered how high they’d look when she smiled. She had tattoos, a lot of them from what he could see, her right bicep being covered in a nature scene, and a few resting on her thighs where the rip in her pants revealed the soft skin. Her left arm held a couple more tattoos and he could see a bit of a tattoo peeking through her cleavage that was partially on display.
His breath hitched in his throat as the woman looked up making eye contact with him, she sent him a comforting smile before he went and asked the hostess if his date was here and to also order his americano. As soon as he was pointed into the direction of the woman he had been ogling he secretly sent a mental thank you to his grandmother before walking over as soon as his order was placed.
“Hi.” He greeted shyly as she looked up at his approaching figure.
“You must be Hyunjin” She questioned, moving to bow to him, but he simply shook his head motioning her to stay seated, before leaning down to place a quick peck on her cheek in greeting.
“Did you order your drink already?” He asked, suddenly noticing the lack of a drink in front of her.
“I did, they are making it now, they hand make the chocolate mix for hot chocolate here so it takes a bit longer.” She explained, still flipping her phone.
“So what do you do for a living? Grandma wouldn’t tell me much.”
“I recue animals, how about you?”
“I’m a performer.” Hyunjin brushed off not really wanting to blatantly call himself an idol, he didn’t want her to think he was bragging.
“That’s cool, a dancer, right?” She guessed making Hyunjin tilt his head at her in confusion. “Your legs, and the way you walk. I used to play this game when I was younger and going out with my Grandma, we would guess which hobbies people had like sports, arts, anything really based on their bodies and style. It was a fun game.”
He gaped slightly, it was an odd quirk but he honestly thought it was adorable. “Yea, I’m a dancer, a singer and a rapper.” He smiled genuinely, taking in her interested gaze. He was so used to most people just admiring him from the stands that being here with a person and getting to know her personally was such an odd experience.
The two chatted for a while, just getting to know each other with basic questions, but by the end they were very much aware that they wanted to see each other again.
And so they did.
She hummed softly as she stroked the brush through the small tiger cubs fur, the tiger loving every touch.
“How do you do it?” Devon, an intern from the United States wondered as he leaned outside of the enclosure.
“Do what?” She wondered, not seeing anything odd about her actions.
“How do you make every animal warm up to you like this?”
“Ah now that I have no idea. I remember when I was three and I came across an injured squirrel, she could hardly walk, but she entrusted me with both her and her babies lives, so I got them help. She lived outside my window for so long after that, once her kids grew they would thump against my window for attention.” She reminisced, still looking fondly at the cub.
“Cute story.” a new voice hummed, making her turn her head quickly only to find Hyunjin looking at her with a grin.
“Oh hi! Did we have plans today?” The two had gone out a couple times, getting closer each and every time since their first date. The only downside was Hyunjin was working a lot on filming music videos so they rarely saw each other, but she understood, especially when he was taking time off and she had a massive inclination in animals so she couldn’t make much time for him either.
“No, I just wanted to bring you lunch.” He shyly responded holding the bag in his hand up, Devon quickly took his leave, not before hyping the girl up over the man's shoulder mouthing about how hot he was.
“Hmm, that sounds nice, let me finish grooming Kiki real quick, okay?” She offered, earning a nod from the man who was more than content to just watch her in her zone for hours.
She took a few more strokes, putting the now resting tiger to the side before heading over to Hyunjin.
“So, How’s the video coming?” she wondered, well aware that the group was filming yet another video this week.
“It’s going so good, the vocals on the song are insane!” He excitedly gasped before going into rambles about the video and what the concept of it is, all while she simply watched his expressions admiringly, she had grown fond of the man fast, quickly becoming engrossed in the way his eyes sparkled and how expressive he was without meaning to be.
“That’s good, this is for lonely street right?” She wondered, hoping it was, she had heard snippets of the song, along with Charmer and Venom. She very much liked the vocals in them from what she heard, though Hyunjin didn’t want her looking into their music too much until the videos came out since it gave a whole new standpoint with the video.
“How’s work here?” He wondered, having heard from her she was having to get rid of a few workers for neglecting their duties.
“Tiring, Devon is the only one willing to get close to the animals, and Ae-Cha is the only one willing to help keep this place together.” She sighed, leaning her head onto his shoulder as she pouted.
Hyunjin simply wrapped his arm around her and traced the exposed tattoo on her arm, made visible by the muscle t shirt she was wearing.
“How about you come spend the day with me tomorrow, to relax.” He offered still stroking her skin with such a gentle touch, she felt dizzy.
“You’re filming tomorrow.”
“And I want you to come see me, I come see you work.” He reasoned but she was still unsure. “Come on, the boys have been begging me to meet you.”
She sighed and gave a slight nod. I can come by after I feed the animals tomorrow.” she offered, making him wiggle excitedly in his seat.
–
Clammy hands had to be her worst enemy. They made everything difficult, everything stuck to them, they made it clear to everyone you touched that you're nervous and not to mention it's just all around gross.
“Are you here for Hyunjin?” a voice spoke causing her to jump a bit from the scare, she turned to see a man a little older than her standing there professionally with a slight grin. “I’m Stray Kids’ manager, Hyunjin asked me to come and wait for you.” He reassured, bowing politely which she returned quickly.
“Nice to meet you, sorry for jumping. I’m really not used to being around people.” She tried to brush off her nerves but the manager simply shook his head with a warm smile now.
“Hyunjin warned me, He talks about you often.” was all he said before he motioned for her to follow him and walked away.
–
It was like he had a sixth sense for her, he was talking to Jeongin and suddenly stopped mid sentence and turned around leaving the poor maknae so confused.
“Hey!” He grinned, rushing to hug the woman who had entered the building cautiously. Everyone turned to look at the scene, watching as Hyunjin pulled the girl into his arms and whispered about how everything would be okay.
He tugged her over to his friends as soon as they pulled away excitedly introducing the 8 to each other.
“Guys this is her, this is Jeongin, Seungmin, Lee Know, Felix, Chan, Changbin and Han.”
She bowed in greeting, still clutching onto her friend tightly.
“Ah the girlfriend.” Seungmin hummed with a mischievous grin the Jeongin mimicked as he added, “We’ve heard all about you!”
“Ignore them, It’s nice to finally meet you! Would you like a water?” Chan asked, and just like that she fell into a rythym. While she was here to see Hyunjin she actively engaged with all of the members during the breaks.
She helped Chan monitoring the boys states making sure none of them were wearing down too much, she teamed up with Minho and moved small things to create minor inconveniences, Changbin and Han had her cackling with their jokes, Felix had taken to her quickly cuddling up to her side and showing her different games he had on his switch that he took with him today for entertainment. Seungmin and Jeongin spent their breaks picking on her and telling her every embarrassing story about Hyunjin they could think of.
“Okay that's enough, Me now!” Hyunjin whined, throwing his weight ontop of her body as she giggled with Felix.
“Aw, was I now giving you enough attention?” She laughed, seemingly a lot more confident than before, making his heart warm. “Okay Jinnie, I’m all yours.”
The simple sentence she hummed made his heart flutter in ways he had never felt before and man did he want it to happen again.

Three words: Hot. Himbo. Werewolves. (Werewolves and werecats and witches, oh my!)
World building and character summaries below, along with a bit more art!
From left to right:
Kyle Johnson: Human. He/Him. Gay. Gym twink with a crush. Went home with Rhys and ended up pulled into the world of the supernatural while trying to juggle his college coursework. Architecture major. Happy go lucky, down for an adventure, often bites off more than he can chew.
Rhys Whitethorne II: Werewolf, Born. He/Him. Bisexual. Older cousin of Jason Whitethorne, but mostly content to let his little cousin lead. His father's Jason's father's little brother, meaning Jason "stole" his "birthright" to lead the Whitethorne Pack. Had a nasty habit of stealing or ruining things that were important to Jason when they were kids. Toys, books, friends, and at least one lover. Now he runs a gym on the first floor of an old warehouse Jason is renovating. Still annoyingly competitive with everyone, but especially his cousin... but also trying to get over his own bullshit. Trying.
Mercy Lawless: Witch, Fae Blood. She/Her. Heteroflexible. Orphaned granddaughter of the Witch Queen of New York, Mercy Lawless and Jason Whitethorne were pushed toward each other from a young age, in an attempt to secure peace between the Witches and the Werewolves. They had an on and off teen sweetheart situation, but neither truly felt a romantic spark, and merely continued the pretense of dating as an excuse to hang out as friends. Easily the smartest person in the Pack, fiercely loyal to her friends. Still working her way out from under her grandmother's thumb. College student going into Occult Studies.
Jason Whitethorne: Werewolf, Born. He/Him. Pansexual. Eldest son and heir of real estate tycoon Owain Whitethorne, current Alpha of the Grand Pack of New York. Jason is the wearer of the Fangs of the First Alpha, which enhance his wolf form while also making him a bigger target for other wolves seeking to prove themselves or claim the artifact for themselves. Business major. Sometimes too direct and harsh, Jason holds himself to an impossible standard he'd never dream of holding anyone else to, wanting to prove he's good enough. He and Mercy have become the closest of friends, their bond far closer now than when they tried dating, enough that he's let her channel the Fangs of the First in the past.
Soo Park: Werecat, Turned. He/Him, Tentatively They/Them. Gay. Orphaned in a horrific "wild animal attack" at 17, the only child of Ha-Yun Park and her husband, John. Taken in by his maternal aunt, Soon-Yi and her girlfriend, Carmilla. Knowing it damn well wasn't a wild animal, Jason and Mercy helped the nerdy, awkward Soo through his clumsy first steps into the supernatural world, and the grief and loneliness after his parents died. With their friendship, Soo blossomed, came out of his shell (much to everyone's horror and delight) and learned to control his new abilities... mostly. After almost a year of waiting for Soo to figure out his feelings, Jason finally made the first move... that Soo only wasn't willing to make because he assumed Jason was straight and just "really sweet" to let Soo hang all over him all the time. Art major. Snarky, overly fond of swear words, utterly clueless that his aunt's girlfriend is an ancient vampire. It's not like he's ever smelled one before, after all. Tends to exaggerate confidence he doesn't quite feel.
Kane & Zane Li: Werewolf, Born. He/Him. Pansexual. Human father, werewolf mother, the twins were raised in the Whitethorne pack and are virtually inseparable, considering Jason to be their unofficial brother. What they lack in height and wits, they more make up for with their big... hearts and their desire to help others. Besides, if they need a witty comeback, they can just ask Mercy, who's often seen with one twin on each arm. Kane is secretly a gamer nerd who spends his Thursday nights with Soo and Kyle playing tabletop games, because they don't fight enough monsters in their real lives. Zane keeps his twin's secret, and hangs out with the Whitethorne cousins and Mercy on Thursday nights. Kane harbors an unrequited crush on the hunter, Pixie. And honestly, who can blame him?
Bonus images~
(Soon-Yi and Carmilla, who definitely is not an ancient vampiress with a penchant for beautiful young women with beautiful smiles and soft curves.)
Pixie, a hunter with compassion. She takes down the supernatural beings who cross the line, and does it with style.

Another fun fact : Oh Yeon Soo and Son Ji Chang, the most lowkey and chilled talent couple of the industry, dated their entire careers and even starred in a drama as a newlywed couple before announing their relationship and their marriage. They were in the same middle school and knew each other since then. It is said that it was known to some lowkey sasaeng fans that followed Son Ji Chang around since Yeon Soo would have to regularly shoo them away, but since she was popular too and no one would have believed them anyways, it stayed a secret to the public.
A fun piece of 8090s talent trivia is that Ha Hee Ra usually considered Lee Sang Ah, Kim hye Soo, Lee Mi Yeon and Chae Shi Ra as her "rivals" but Kim Hye Sun considered Ha Hee Ra as her rival - to the point where she refused to play Hee Ra's younger sister in "What Is Love" (a.k.a. Ji Eun's sister Jung Eun!) So that she doesn't have to be compared directly on screen. The role then went to Shin Ae Ra, which gave us her iconic Jung Eun character.
Funnily enough, during the festivities of Ha Hee Ra and Choi Soo Jong's wedding, gues who was everywhere, out front, happily rejoicing and having fun? Kim Hye Sun.
(She would later go on to have her big break in the 1993 MBC Drama "Walking To Heaven" alongside Choi Min Soo. Sadly, that remains her best known work)

Won't you smile, beautiful boy genuis?
Hey, yall, I'm doing another yona of the dawn tk fic. Yoon is one of my favourite boys in this series. This beautiful boy genuis is a cute downright tsunderer. Adorable right! Soooo read it and enjoy!!!
Warning: Watch the series first if you don't want to be spoiled
"HOW CAN I TAKE CARE OF YOU WHEN YOU ARE TOO CARELESS OF YOURSELF?!"
The distant yelling came from Yoon, who was yelling at the oracle Ik-soo, who gave a nervous chuckle as Yoon bandaged his head tightly. He was bleeding from the temple, and Yona guessed that he had tripped as always.
Hak and Jae-ha were behind at as well after training. Yoon was still yelling without any breaks, his cheeks puffed red, and his eyes blazing with rage.
"Now now, don't start yelling out of the blue..." Jae-Ha said with a hint of amusment, lowering his weapons by the front door. Yoon glared at him suddenly, threatening. "Better watch your mouth or I won't ever stitch your wounds"
He winced, making Hak laugh his eerie laugh, "Perve got served..."
"Shut up, Hak!"
Yoon finished tying the bandage on Ik-Soo who clapped happily like a child "Thank you dear Yoon... you're the best."
"Yeah, whatever... I just don't want you dying on my door..."
Yona turned to Hak now "where are Kija, Zeno and Shin-Ah?"
"Probably hunting..." Hak shrugged. Yoon hearing this huffed "You all think making wounds is a joke since I'm around patching you up!"
Yona gave a shy smile now. "Aw Yoon, don't be mad, you're our saviour... we rely on you because you're amazing!"
Jae-Ha nodded. "Yeah, pipsqueak, better not frown otherwise your pretty face will be filled with ugly wrinkles"
Yoon gasped now, touching his face. "I have a beautiful face, don't you dare insult me!"
Zeno came in first in a singing tone and pouncing on Yun with a grin. "Heeey, Yoon-chan!!! I'm hungry. What's for lunch?"
Yoon's eyebrow twitched "Well I'm your maid now?"
Kija laughed it off, his hand rising to ruffle Yoon's hair. "Sorry, Yoon, didn't mean to trouble you. Are you in a bad mood?"
Yoon frowned "No why? I'm just-"
Zeno became more clingy, almost making Yoon stumble back because of his small, delicate build. He was feeling tensed now, "Turn that frown... upside... down!"
When Zeno said 'down,' he dug into Yoon's ribs, making the young boy sputter in confusion. "W-what h-hey don't touch -gehet off!"
Zeno brightened now, pinning the boy down "Ahhh Yoon got a little weakness, yes? Wheeeere are you gooooing?" Zeno taunted him playing grabbing him firmly and tickled his ribs harder, making Yoon recoil to the side giggling instantly."Hohohld ohohon! Dohohohont tihihickle mehehe! Stahahap thahahaht!"
"I woooont!" Sang Zeno, who looked at others to make them join with him.
Shin-Ah tapped Yona in the shoulder and whispered "Yoon... laughing...cute"
She giggled delightedly "isn't he? How cute"
"Hm, he sure is," Kija did with a flushing smile.
Jae-Ha exchanged smirks with Hak, who also got down cracking his knuckles. "Defying your seniors is pretty rude... shall we punish this little boy genius?"
Jae-ha nodded. "we shall, Hak..."
"Ihihihi rehehehfuse thihihis humihihiliation!" Yoon hugged his midriff and curled forward. Ik-soo chuckled into his hand. "You haven't changed... I remember how you giggled so sweetly like a little bird"
"CUHUHUT IHIHIT OUT IK-SOOHOHO. NOHOT HEHELPING!" His laugh increased when Hak wiggled a finger around his neck, which seemed sensitive enough."Oh my, is your neck sensitive?"
With that, Yoon raised his hands to cover his blushing face, shaking his head with more streams of laughter. He was like no longer their travelling partner, but a cute little brother laughing like a child.
"Ohoho don't hide!" Kija giggled joining in now."Won't you smile, beautiful boy genius?"
"GUHUHUYS NOHOHO!" He began whining with his loud laughter, but his arms lowered more when Hak concentrated on the armpits and the upper ribs.
"He's got a weak spot at his foot, the arcs, I guess. It's so precious!" Ik-soo said with a bright wide smile.
"Trahahahaitor idihihiot ihihik-sohohoo!" Yoon shook his head."Ahahah gahahad nohohot thehehere! YOHOHONA! PLEHEHEHEASE!"
Hak widened his eyes, looking down where Yona attacked his feet. "Princess got him to beg... I'm impressed -yoon is pretty difficult to crack"
"It would seem, now he's imploring... that's rich." There is a similar surprise from Kija who still attacked his waist.
Yona giggled as well, allowing Shin-ah and Zeno to hold his legs and tickle the knees a rather different spot, which even Yoon was unaware of.
Yoon didn't seem to hate it that much, but still, he pretended to hate it by insulting and half kicking Hak harshly enough to make him grunt but not wound him. He was happy for some reason.
"AHAHAHA IHIHIHI GIHIHIVE -AHAHA STOHOHOP -MEHEHEHRCY!"
"Do you swear not to be upset again?"
Hak said, slowing his attack while only Kija, Jae-ha, and Zeno remained as Yona left Yoon alone.
"I... uhuhu..." Yoon looked to the side, panting a little. He didn't answer for a longtime and it made Hak wiggled his fingers with a menacing grin "Yoon... your promise? Don't leave me hanginggg~"
Yoon flinched with a giggle crossing his arms across to stop Hak further on, "Ihihi swear -I swear! Ihihi sweeehehehear!"
Hak was back yo gentle and ticklish pokes, which made Yoon jump adorably. "Plehehease!"
Everyone stopped and then Yoon laid sprawled with a gasp. Hak smiled fondly "We got you Yoon, don't worry... we won't hurt ourselves..."
Yoon's blue eyes sparkled with a hint of happiness and relief, but also blushing from the sentiment. "I don't care if you lose a limb. Don't die on me,"
"Oh, so are you back to being cocky with me, kid?" Hak poked his tummy, making him giggle and shrink to the ground. With a few pokes from them and there, Yoon got up, still flustered. "I... well ... I'm worried about all of you so..." he shyly looked down and then back at Yona, whose pretty smile lightened his heart, giving butterflies. His cheeks heated up instantly.
"Yooon~ you're staring..." this was Jae-ha who said a finger up his back starting the genius.
Yoon yelped, trying to punch the green dragon, "Ah! Stop that! Alright, get out now and let me make dinner! Otherwise, you're all going to starve!"
"we're all in your debt, mother," everyone bowed teasingly, making Yoon blush more.
"Shut up!"

Love in War Chapter 1: Just a Normal Day... Wait What? ------------------------------------------------ Duty After School Fanfic
Wang Tae Man x Fem!OC Summary:
The Sunshine of 3-2 didn't expect her senior year to end up in the military during an alien apocalypse…
Hwang Ha-Yun was born to have a bright personality. Her name means sun after all. Everyone calls her the 'Sunshine of 3-2'. Mostly everyone gets along with her until she reaches her boiling point where her temper could be as hot as the sun.
Wang Tae Man, the class clown of 3-2, has been her partner in crime since the fateful day she moved next door. They've been inseparable ever since.
With an alien apocalypse added into the mix and traumas resurfaced, what will happen to their relationship? And will they be able to survive? TW: Anxiety mention, swearing [3205 words] [Other Chapters] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ha-Yun’s stepbrother, Do Soo-Chul, would sometimes join the two troublemakers in the treehouse. But he had his own life. Still, the step-siblings had built a very close bond throughout the years since her dad married his mum. They loved each other like real siblings and Soo-Chul can sometimes take on the role of overprotective big brother. And she would retaliate like an annoyed younger sister.
The three of them would usually walk to school together. Ha-Yun loved these walks since they’d always get to see the sunrise. It’d always make her day. Except for the fact that there were massive purple spheres all over the sky.
Ah, the purple blobs. The spheres were an enigma that's been plaguing the world. It has been a year since they miraculously appeared. Ha-Yun didn’t like keeping up with its status. Honestly, Ha-Yun was terrified of what would happen if it ever fell. What if the impact was like a meteor? What if it was aliens taking over Earth? WHAT IF IT'S BOTH?!
But everything was fine. So far.
Back to their walk, Soo-Chul would take pride in walking between Ha-Yun and Tae Man, not wanting them to be so affectionate with each other. They’re just friends, sure, but that’s not stopping him from setting boundaries for his sister. With him in the middle, it was just easier for the two to bully him.
When they reached school, Soo-Chul would go his separate way. And that left the other two alone. They started to laugh as they made their way to class.
“Will he ever stop keeping us apart?” asked Tae Man.
“He acts as if we’d start making out in front of him,” said Ha-Yun.
Tae Man looked at her and smirked. “Well, do you want to?”
Ha-Yun punched his arm and runs away as he tried to catch her. They stopped when they approached Young Shin.
“Hi, Young Shin-ah!” Ha-Yun smiled brightly at him. “Are those new glasses?”
He returned a smile. “Oh, your ears are red-“
Tae Man suddenly put Young Shin in a headlock. “Any last words?”
Young Shin quickly pulled away after getting a whiff of his scent. “Gosh, please take a shower.”
Ha-Yun burst out laughing. She was used to her best friend’s horrible body odor. That’s why it never really bothered her. But she did remind him every morning to shower, though. He was just stubborn.
Young Shin walked away into the class, gagging, as Tae Man asked Ha-Yun, “Do I really smell?”
“I assume so.”
His infamous mischievous grin formed on his face. He caught up with Young Shin and started to fan the odor to his nose. Young Shin immediately pushed him away. And that made him hit the board where Yoojung was writing something.
Tae Man turned his head towards the Banjang. He raised an eyebrow at her, “Good morning, Kim Yoojung.”
Ha-Yun scowled at their interaction. It’s not like she was bothered if her best friend flirted with another girl or anything. It’s just… never mind. Tae Man used to harbor a crush on Yoojung during middle school. Ha-Yun always had an insufferable time with him because all he did was ogle at Yoojung and talked about her. It came to a point where she accidentally blew up at him. Soo-Chul later called her jealous.
Ha-Yun scoffed at the memory. Her? Jealous because of Wang Tae Man? Ha! Before anyone could notice, she quickly put on her bright smile. She waved at Park Soyoon who was talking with her best friend, Hong Joonhee.
However, Ha-Yun’s eyes trailed to Tae Man who was wishing good morning to each of their classmates. There's something about him trying to make people smile that warmed her heart and her face.
Then, she noticed Soo-Chul trying to draw Im Wutaek, posing like a model. She couldn’t help but giggle at him trying to get the best angle of his best friend. Her stepbrother had no artistic skill in him despite calling himself the next Picasso, but hey, art is subjective.
Ha-Yun went to sit next to Nara who kept stealing glances to a certain someone who sat by the window while reading her horror book. "Yah, Lee Nara. You're staring at Kimchi too much."
That comment caused Nara's cheeks to tint pink. "No, I'm not."
"Whatever you say…"
Ha-Yun knew that both of them liked each other. But both were too shy to admit to each other. Ha-Yun pitied Soo-Chul since he also liked Nara. But at the end of the day, she would support the one Nara actually liked back. She strived to be captain of the Nara-Kimchi ship.
"You should talk to him," says Ha-Yun; Nara just gave Kimchi a small smile which he returned with a small wave. His face turned red as he focused back on his phone.
Nara sent Ha-Yun a glare. "You should admit your own feelings then.”
“For the last time, Nara-yah. I have no feelings for Wang Tae Man.”
“I never said anything about him.”
“Well, you’re insinuating it.”
“Whatever you say…” quoted Nara. Now it’s Ha-Yun’s turn to send her a glare. Nara giggled and returned to her reading.
Speak of the devil, Tae Man approached them. He waves at Nara. “Good morning, Nara-yah.”
“Morning, Wang Tae Man,” she says, monotonously; her eyes not leaving the book.
Disappointed with the reaction, he turned to Ha-Yun. He patted her head and said, “Good morning, Sunny.”
“Good morning to you too, Ronald McDonald.”
“Yah! I told you to stop calling me that.”
“Well, I told you to take a shower.”
“WELL, I did not have enough time.”
“Oh, you had plenty of time if you didn’t spend half an hour having a private concert.”
“I-“
Lee Nara slammed her book on the table. “Yah, you two! If you want to bicker, do it at your own place.”
Tae Man hastily ran to his desk and cowered beneath his neck pillow. “Girls can be so scary sometimes,” he mumbled. Ha-Yun shook her head at him. “Sorry, Nara-yah. He gets on my nerves sometimes.”
“Yet you never leave his side.”
"He's my best friend.”
Nara sighed and went back to her book. Ha-Yun headed back to her desk in front of Tae Man's, until out of nowhere, he slammed his desk very loudly. Ha-Yun almost tripped because of the sudden noise. "Yah! What the hell was that for?"
“Yah! Wang Tae Man!”
“What’s his problem?”
“YOU ATTENTION SEEKER, CUT IT OUT ALREADY!”
Ha-Yun had to hold in a laugh from So-Yoon’s outburst. She hid her smiling mouth behind her hand.
"Yah, Wang Tae Man," called Young Shin. He was usually the one who’d call his stupidity out. "I get you're a nutcase, but please turn on the blinker before you go, okay?"
Tae Man sat up straighter and look him straight in the eye. "I did turn the blinker on."
"What?"
Ha-Yun could only think of one thing that was bound to happen. "Oh no."
As if on cue, the horrible stench made its way through the air.
"OH YOU SON OF A-" exclaimed Wutaek as he snappily covers his nose. He couldn’t finish his sentence and ran towards the closest window he could reach.
The whole class followed suit for the freedom of fresh air, leaving a couple of brave ones who were willing to endure the smell. Ha-Yun searched her backpack for emergency supplies. She could usually handle the stench but God, this time was worse as she heard another fart sound from him. Glaring at Tae Man, she put on her mask and pulled out her trusty air freshener spray (one of the essentials you need as a friend of Wang Tae Man). "Can't you fart in the toilet?"
Tae Man gave her his usual innocent smile. The green neck pillow was still covering his ears from most of the complaints. "When it has to go, it has to go. Speaking of..."
A fart sound was heard.
Young Hoon slammed his pencil frustratedly and left the crime scene. Ha-Yun immediately sprayed the area surrounding Tae Man while contemplating if she should spray it in his eye. She prayed that the spray would be enough to cover up the smell.
Tae Man, undeterred by the situation, smiled innocently and asked, "Can I get some gum? My mouth needs some freshening up."
Ha-Yun smacked his shoulder. With her free hand, not the one holding the spray, mind you. Tae Man, still unfazed, laughed, "I guess that's a 'No' then?"
Ha-Yun held back the sudden urge to hit his head with the spray bottle.
She called out to her classmates, “Yah! Someone test the smell!”
Jang Soo, being the brave volunteer he was, risked his life. He took a whiff. “Disarmed.”
Ha-Yun took off her mask and smelled her surroundings. Ah, a wonderful, no farts at all, rosey vanilla smell. Hell turned to Heaven. She sighed in relief and muttered, "God bless this air freshener."
Tae Man smelled himself. “Hey, I smell nice now. I knew I didn’t have to shower.”
Ha-Yun threw her mask at his face.
Everyone dispersed from the windows, relieved, and stumbled out thank yous to the class Sunshine.
“Ha-Yun-ah! You came prepared,” said Soyeon, hugging her.
Ha-Yun laughed, “I’ve experienced this way too many times.”
Ha-Yun then raised the can in the air and shouted, "Let us all thank the gods of air freshener!" Everyone erupted in cheers and laughter.
The bright girl was stuffing the spray bottle back in her bag when she noticed Nara still by the window. Her eyes trailed to the figure to her left and to her right. She giggled.
“Yah, what are you laughing at?” Her best friend asked. Ha-Yun pointed at the scene at the windows. His burst of laughter was stopped by a slam of Ha-Yun’s hand on his mouth. Her expression said, ‘Shut up and watch’.
Nara left the windows, not noticing Kimchi and Soo-Chul ogling at her. Without the girl they regarded as an angel blocking their view of each other, immediate frowns appeared on their faces.
Because they couldn’t help it, the two besties burst into fits of laughter. That made the two at the window glanced at them and sent a death message to them. Ha-Yun and Tae Man softened their laughter into Tae Man’s pillow. Their heads shot up however when they heard a familiar tune.
The cheery sound of the school bell announced the arrival of their homeroom teacher, Ms. Park. “Settle down!”
The chaos slowly calmed. Kim Deok-Joong didn’t seem to notice the teacher standing right next to him.
“Is it delicious?” She asked sarcastically.
“My goodness!” He exclaimed and ran to his seat.
After Ms. Park has grabbed everyone’s attention, she announced, “I have a gift for all of you today.”
“OOOOHHHH”
Ha-Yun was curious about what she was about to say. She loved Ms. Park. The young teacher always took care of them like her own children. Oh! Ha-Yun wondered if she was going to announce a camping trip or something.
Her excitement immediately dissipated when her teacher said, “Mock exam results from September.”
Crap.
She forgot about that.
Please don’t get her wrong, Ha-Yun’s a clever girl. She hoped to get into a good university to become a nurse. But exams were not her thing. Thankfully, however, she always used her wits to answer the questions with the help of last-minute cramped studying. So hopefully, she’d get a good score.
Ms. Park silenced the class after she said she’d give them out in order of highest to lowest. “Come out when I call your name. First off… first place in our class and our school… Young Hoon.”
Ha-Yun politely clapped for the boy. She wasn’t close to him but they have been classmates for years so there was no harm in showing some support. Especially when the boy managed to stay at the top spot for so long.
She turned her head to the back when she heard something getting thrown. Ah, of course, Kwon Il-Ha ruined the mood. Ha-Yun didn’t understand his vendetta against Young-Hoon. He didn’t do social, so what? The girl liked to think even bullies have good sides of them but Il-Ha could be so rude for no reason. She rolled her eyes and focused back on Ms. Park.
“Second place is Young Soo.”
Him. Ha-Yun was irky about him. She had noticed a couple of times where he would stare at So-Yeon inappropriately like just now. He’s such a pervert who only cared about his studies. She’d avoid interaction with him at any opportunity.
“Third place is Yoo-Jung.”
Despite her scowling earlier, Ha-Yun still cheered for the class president. She was nice and dependable. How could you not love her?
After Yeonjoo, Ha-Yun’s name was called. She couldn’t believe it, she made it into the Top Ten. The happy girl jumped out of her seat and proudly took her results. Wang Tae Man gave the loudest cheer for her. As she sat down, she grinned at him. He ruffled her hair. “Good job, Sunny.”
Her ears turned red at the compliment. She quickly turned to the front to prevent him from noticing.
After Yeon Bora’s name got called, the uncalled was left with two. “All right, two last places tied. The grand finale.”
“Gosh, protect the last places!” Woo Hee-Rak protested.
“That’s right!” affirmed Il-Ha.
Ms. Park looked at them, not pleased. “Protect what? They’re just these two.” She called out to them. “Il-Ha and Hee-Rak, hurry up and come out.”
The two boys stood up and asked for applause. “What even is there to clap for?” Ha-Yun thought. As the two passed her, she couldn’t help rolling her eyes as they made eye contact. Her distaste for the class bullies was evident. Even Bora’s picking on No Ae-Sol gets on her nerves. Though, every time she wanted to step in, Il-Ha was already defending Ae-Sol. She guessed there was a tiny bit of humanity in him after all.
That day was when she was really irritated with Il-Ha, though. This guy simply kicked Young-Hoon’s bag away just because it was in his way. That jerk. Ha-Yun was going to give him a piece of her mind later.
Tae Man noticed her curling up her fists and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. The gesture immediately calmed her. Ha-Yun might be friendly and happy most of the time. But when people were annoying, she won’t hesitate to blow up. The only one who could prevent it was Tae Man. He’s her defuser.
Suddenly, there was a PA announcement. “To all teachers inside the school building, please come to the Administration Office.”
“Dismissed. Make sure to get ready for classes. Everyone turn in your phones!” said Ms. Park as she left.
Groans were heard by everyone. Banjang went to the lectern and pulled out the phone basket underneath. “Hurry up and turn in your phones!”
Ha-Yun turned around. “Tae Man-ah, give me your phone. I’ll hand it in for you.”
Tae Man quickly took a picture of her and gave her the phone. He grinned. “Thank you, my Sunshine.”
She scowled. “What did you do?!”
“Just a pretty selfie.”
“Yah!”
“Yah! Hwang Ha-Yun, are you not gonna turn in those phones?” Asked the Banjang. She was smiling as if she knew something Ha-Yun didn’t.
“Oh, uh sorry sorry.” She went and gave her the phones.
“Thank you,” said Yoo-Jung. “Anyone else hadn’t turned in?”
As Ha-Yun went back to her seat, she noticed Kimchi was gone. “Where’s Kimchi?” She asked Tae Man.
“I heard Il-Ha made him go see what’s happening.”
“Oh. I hope it’s nothing serious.”
~~
After a while, Ms. Park came back with Kimchi tailing behind her. Weird, it’s supposed to be first period. Even stranger is the fact that the homeroom teacher’s face was grey and grim.
“Everyone,” she said. The class was completely silent. All eyes were on her. Ha-Yun had a feeling whatever she is going to say next is bad.
“It looks like this year’s early admissions will be canceled.”
Canceled?! Ha-Yun turned to Tae Man. “Did I hear that right?”
“Or we both are being delusional.”
Ha-Yun shook her head. The competition will be even worse if all the top students fight for regular admissions. How was she going to join nursing school? She could feel her breathing starting to get heavier.
Tae Man puts a comforting hand on her shoulder. Her breathing slowly goes back to normal. Ha-Yun places her hand on his and squeezed it. A silent thank you.
She glanced around to look at others’ reactions and locked eyes with Soo-Chul. He mouthed, “Are you ok?”
She nodded and smiled slightly which let him sigh in relief. He knew how bad her anxiety could get. But she hasn’t gotten another attack in years since- never mind.
“Ms. Park, what’s the matter?” asked Tae Man.
So-Yoon frantically asked, “Are you really sure?”
“Is it also canceled for other schools?”
“What about people who applied for early admissions?”
The class started to ask questions among themselves. Ha-Yun looked outside the window. Her mind wandered to the purple floating blobs in the sky.
Oh shit.
“Do you think it has something to do with the spheres?” she asked Tae Man. His eyes widened. “Oh shit.”
“Listen to what I’m saying first!” Ms. Park yelled above the noisy commotion. “Only early admission will be canceled and CSAT will be taken as scheduled. Also-“
Even more commotion erupted. Ms. Park grabbed the TV remote and turned to the students. “I’ll explain slowly, so can you all look here?”
She turned on the tv. The noise settled down when they heard the news playing. “Minister of Defense will soon give the national conference on the enlistment of students into the military. We’ll hear the specifics from our reporter who’s at the scene. Reporter Oh Eun Ji, please”
“Students? He means college students, right?” thought Ha-Yun.
The screen cuts to the reporter at the conference. “Yes, I’m at the Ministry of Defense’s briefing room right now. The emergency national conference will be starting soon.”
“Emergency? Is it major?” Tae Man whispered to Ha-Yun. She shrugged.
“Minister of Defense Park Sang Man took the podium just now. Let’s listen to what he’ll be saying.”
This was the first time Ha-Yun saw the face of the minister. She never kept up with politics. Now, she wished she did.
“I’m the Minister of Defense. Dear citizens, almost a year has passed since the appearance of unidentified spheres worldwide.”
Ha-Yun looked at Tae Man and mouthed “I told you.” Tae Man’s mouth was shaped into an o.
“As of now, we can’t confirm their risks, but they can…”
“Isn’t the Minister of Defense pretty high up?” Tae Man asked Ha-Yun.
“He’s up there somewhere.”
“In order to prepare for such events, please understand the issuance of National Mobilisation Law.”
“National what what?”
“Huh?!”
“Besides active duty soldiers, enlisted candidates, reserve force, all males and female adults up to 24 years old…”
“Ah, so it is about college students. Wait, he’s not done yet,” she thought.
“And… the current third-grade high school students will also be drafted.”
Oh. That’s not good.

Daily Dose of Sunshine
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2023
Daily Dose of Sunshine (2023, South Korea)
Directors: Lee Jae Kyu & Kim Nam Su
Writers: Lee Nam Gyu, Oh Bo Hyun & Kim Da Hee (based on the webtoon by Lee Ra Ha)
Mini-review:
When I heard this drama was coming out, I got a bit worried, since k-dramas don't have the best track record when it comes to handling this topic. Thankfully, this show's team mostly pulled it off. Sure, it falls into stereotypes from time to time, but its focus is always on empathy, acceptance and tolerance. It really tries to make the viewer understand how hard and undeservedly misunderstood mental illnesses are. For better or worse, that also means the drama doesn't shy away from showing the darkest parts of these illnesses, so please be very careful if this topic is triggering for you, cause there are a lot of hard-to-watch scenes. In terms of acting, the entire cast is great, especially the actors playing the patients, and Park Bo Young. In fact, this might arguably be her career's crowning achievement. The one thing I didn't really like were the romantic parts. I just didn't care for any of the romances, and the show would've been better off without them. Anyway, Daily Dose of Sunshine surprised me by handling a complex topic in a much more humane and hopeful way that I expected.

new face ? new intro ! lili (s/h) here again to introduce the lovely yun hana. hana was created to fill in the back to reality subplot & spin-off skeleton. she's quite the ride for someone her age (21), but she has a lot of hopes and dreams—for now she's stuck being daddy's girl by displaying her face as a beauty influencer and ex-high end model. the public generally sees her as a spoiled teenager that got married too quickly and to the wrong person. yet, she still somehow manages to rake in large numbers on her social medias. attention seems to be her greatest forte.
under the cut — profile, tldr bio, wanted plots/connections.
— yes, i'm that girl.
yun hana / juliet • july 22nd, 2001 • second born by cho deji, retired actor & yun chul, muse ent ceo • top of class sopas graduate • ex-model, current contracted influencer to muse • singles inferno's boring but pretty cast mate • somehow married to minjun • cancer, snake, enfp-t, lawful neutral(?)
gossip girl's favorite topic and resident homewrecker. doesn't get any better than that. unless you remember her old nepotism trends? now, those feel like a summer fever dream.
— i'm too pretty for this.
oh, so, luckily given birth by entertainment socialites that utilize their beautiful daughter as company propaganda. the public adores her anyways. she's become korea's 'lil doll that somehow scored impossible jobs when she was in high school. everyone thought she was naturally gifted. obviously, daddy had some behind the scenes work to ensure his daughter got the front pages. groomed to be famous you could say.
anyways. when all you know is how to make your parents proud since they showcase nothing in love outside of public achievements, you tend to stick to that. showing bright smiles to the camera and pretending you're someone who's sole purpose is for entertainment or attractive looks. even when your image is taking a heavy tank in opposite of your favor (thanks gg), you keep going. and you keep running into road blocks since appearing on a show was probably the worst idea. lack of personality? clearly. how was she meant to be interested in boys that only asked for her ideal type and not her favorite food? food is more important.
reality is: hana is incredibly smart. top of her class. has ideas to create a sub-label called "prototype," designed for her various idol group concepts and shows. it is essentially her dream to become a creative designer. it's just too bad the company keeps declining those hopes in favor of her current career. they'd probably make new trends.
smart yet impulsively married a man she was merely lost her virginity with at the age of twenty. who even gets married that young still? hana adores fairy tale endings or stories of true love. he was anything but that. he was just soo handsome and soo well off. she's been crushing on him since she were a kid. maybe his attention is what caused her to say yes (if he had a ring at the time or not). honestly, she wasn't sure anymore. the tabloids themselves say their wedding must have been another paid event by the company they both were under. at least the way he uses his dick with her is fantastic.
today she's attempting to make the best of herself. a popular youtube channel followed by various social media pages that get flooded with both love and hate. on a surface level, she's your spoiled girl with a handsome husband she's using for clout, well known for always getting her way due to familial connections. underneath, she feels like screaming into a pillow in hopes the noise will drown out her chaotic thoughts of feeling truly and utterly alone/misunderstood.
— princess treatment only.
let's try to get that group of friends that wear purple on wednesdays because pink is too overrated at this point. besides, purple is hana's iconic color.
probably an ultra best friend but they actually hate her. use her for clout, money, her husband— something of the sort. no one can actually be this much of an airhead, right? she adores spoiling her, uhm, best friend. giving them gifts or taking them on trips.
older brother figure she idolizes more than her father. maybe a man that she met in the weirdest of places. she needs someone big and strong to prevent her from getting into bad situations that'd get her in trouble. softie hours. let her share her ideas with him.
singles inferno cast mates that's flirted with/kissed her maybe. cast mates that saw her as boring. cast mates she had drama with that she ignored. cast mates that she's still friends with after the show.
give me haterrrs.. or anyone jealous of her title/marriage.
classmates from sopas she wasn't the kindest to. yes, go get me a chocolate bar. i'm hungry, peasant. why didn't you bring my cat foam cappuccino today?
maybe someone that wants to get with her husband, more so after finding out their marriage isn't filled with a lot of love. i'd love to see jealous hana fuming. there may be no love but she'd bring claws out to keep her man to herself.
i'll probably add more as i go along. kinda brain dead. better at plotting than making bunnies.
